Don’t think “oh, it’s another celebrity-named joint, nothing more”. Many of us have experienced disappointing meals at celebrity or famous chef restaurants. This is not one of them. Excellent manager, servers, and food. We had a six-course meal and every plate was fantastic. The only regret I have is that we waited this long to come here. For anyone reading this, don’t hesitate, just go and see it yourself. You will not regret it. Enjoy!
I went to Chazzs restaurant with my grilfriend due my birthday, the place is ok, nothing more, nothing less, the food was good, the service is the weak point of the restaurant, from the hostess to the waiter, cold reception and service, far from real Italian style, not even a little smile in their faces, bottom line, first and last experience there.
It’s a nice place, beautiful, elegant, casual. The food we chose was not up to the reviews we read. The burrata was kind of tasteless and a bit dry, the tomatoes that came with it were also tasteless. The Chaz salad was just okay. The pesto pizza was missing something, the mozzarella wasn’t tasty. The shrimp scampi was really salty. So all around hot a great experience food wise. The drinks were good, so was the music and the atmosphere. Service was also excellent.
Fantastic!!! The restaurant is small and wonderfully charming. The staff was extremely professional and friendly. But most of all, the food was delicious and artfully prepared. We would like to give our highest praise to Artin, who was wonderful and helped us to experiment with some new cocktails he had concocted! We stayed for a couple of hours and it was a most enjoyable evening!!! Cant wait to go back on our next trip to the city!
The service was odd. They offered us wine before giving us the menus. Since we pair the two we couldnt know. The branzino was very good. And the aged cheddar that came out with the bread was sooo good.It was very dark, so dark I couldnt see the inside of my clams, and we needed to use our phones to read the menu. They also filled the space with little air flow. Not good with omicron still about. But the food was fabulous.
Love love this place! My boyfriend and I came here for a date night while on vacation and oh my god. The food is to die for! My boyfriend is extremely picky with his Italian food and he LOVED it. The bucatini carbonara is fantastic and then you can’t go wrong with the basic spaghetti and meatballs. Such a romantic setting. The service was great as well.
This restaurant is amazing. Great service, our waiter Jose was very nice and attentive. Another gentlemen with a black suit remembered my special request for my girlfriend and it was very nice of him to make it a great night. The food was delicious and would love to come back
Great atmosphere. Staff is friendly and very inviting. They have lunch and dinner special daily with a limited takeout menu and a full sit down menu. I had the bass with crushed pistachio with homemade gnocchi in a white wine sauce. Delicious... highly recommend this eatery.
I wanted to give this place 5 stars, but there were too many misses to give it the full 5. This place does have a lot of redeeming qualities though.Cocktails were not great. Got the old fashioned and it was not well balanced. Boyfriend got the tropical martini and that was just a very strange drink.Bresaola was almost too salty to eat, had to pair it with the bread. Not entirely sure why it was decided to pair that with anchovies and cappers for a cured meat, seems like salt overkill.I was really looking forward to the Bronx tail pasta which looked really good from the pictures. But the preparation and cooking of the seafood was disappointing. The lobster was clearly way overdone and the mussels were sandy. That being said the pasta was amazing as was the sauce. I believe they milled the tomatoes and them made an incredibly flavorful sauce. I would assume if it was a different protein the pasta would have been phenomenal. The redeeming dish I had here was a Branzino. If you like seafood, I definitely recommend that.Pasta, sauce, and Branzino saved this place from getting a much lower rating. The atmosphere was also quite nice, white table cloth and a little more upscale. But dress code isn’t really enforced…ended up sitting next to a guy in a wife beater which looked a little out of place for something trying to be a little more upscale.
We visited this restaurant for pre-theatre dinner. Located close to the theaters in the area it was a hop, skip and a jump to our theatre reservations. The food was outstanding and the prices were reasonable considering it was NYC. We were a group of six (three couples) and everyone was pleased with their meal. A few of us ordered the branzino special which was filleted and served over gnocchi. The branzino was flaky and mild and their gnocchis were to die for, light, airy and the sauce was delicious. Im only sorry I couldnt eat it all. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Best part was the price, we had appetizers, dinner, 3 bottles of wine, a few cocktails and the price was only $700. Cant beat that in NYC. Highly recommended.
Lives up to the ratings. Excellent wines by the glass. Portions are very generous. Old word feel. Wife and daughter had “their best chicken parm ever”. I had Osso Bucco which was actually the whole shank including marrow ( with its own spoon) over risotto Milanese.Excellent choice in a great mid town location.
I went there for three courses lunch on a weekday. The services my company and I experienced were absolutely classic Italian; attentive, considerate and elegant. The seafood tomato spaghetti was more than great indeed but the highlight would go to their tiramisu which comes with cream and berries on the side.
Very pleasant experience, our waitress made sure we were taken care of! The bread plates that come with dinner were a very nice extra. We had octopus for the appetizer and it was cooked and plated just right.Cocktails were tasty and delicious. Definitely recommend the mule and the Negroni! For dinner, we had the wagyu beef and spaghetti, and for dessert we split the espresso gelato dish.Highly recommend to anyone looking for a classy / special occasion experience!!!
Authentic Italian dishes and great service. We ordered from the pre fixe lunch menu and it was an excellent choice. The pork was deliciously tender and my husbands steak was not disappointing. The tiramisu truly was the best Ive ever had.I loved everything from the greeting to the attention to detail. Our desserts were even beautiful plated. Great atmosphere and just a block from Times Square.
Some of the best service Ive had at any restaurant. The food and wine are incredible. They got some creative cocktails too! If youre a Martini fan, give the Empire Martini a try!Definitely a place youll want to go for special occasions! The prices are high, but its a higher end establishment and youll more than get what you paid for. I recommend the Linguine Nero if youre a mussel fan, and some calamari as your appetizer. You get your choice of red or white sauce and you get a lot!The service is unbelievable. Staff is on point, fast and makes you feel like an honored guest. Will be returning here for sure!
We came here for casual dinner . We were all pleased with the hospitality and great service. The food was really good. Everything we order was done and seasoned perfectly. I totally recommend this place to try. Nice size bar in the front for a drink and the dinning room is intamite but cosy .A mid Town hidden gem
I noticed this restaurant last month while servicing a customer on 46th St. I had heard Chazz on a morning local talk show, he sounded like a real gentleman. I said I am going to give this place a try. I make a yearly trip to Italy so I love Italian food if it is done right. This food was Excellent. I had the Prix Fixed lunch. Pappardelle with a veal bolognese, pork scaloppini and tiramisu for dessert. The service was fantastic in and out under an hour still had time on the meter. Will make this my lunch spot in the area.
Well the 4.5 stars that they have on google must be for the atmosphere. The food was slightly better then Olive Garden. Mediocre food. I still don’t understand how a Italian restaurant can over cook veal. All they did was offer my mom who ordered the veal Marsala another dish but didn’t apologize or nothing. I order the carbanara which was alright but over priced. We should of just ate in little italia earlier in the day.
Awesome food. Will go again. My husband and I went again for a 3rd visit. The salmon and the lobster ravioli was delicious. The calamari were cook perfectly. And also lets not forget the dessert. We had a tiramisu which was also delicious. Everyone is so kind and attentive. We will definitely keep coming to Chazz. Thank you
Absolutely excellent experience! The staff was helpful, funny and went above and beyond! I brought my father for dinner and what a delicious meal! From the bread with olives and cheese plate, to the appetizer, dinner and dessert, we could not have enjoyed it more! Could not recommend more!
We were at the restaurant with a vendor of ours. One of the specials was the Osso Bucco. Dont try to get this for lunch if you dont have 2+ hours to wait for it and to enjoy. It was quite delicious and fork tender like it should be. Prob would have been quicker 5 of of 8 of didnt get the same thing ! LOL.
My girlfriend and I had an anniversary recently and he decided to take me on some fancy, special place. She loves Italian and I – seafood, so “Chazz Palmintery” ticked all of our boxes. The place was marvelous. I really loved the atmosphere that was classy without being pretentious or snobby. I can’t wait to get back there! The service was top class. The waiters were polite and helpful, although we’re Italian/sea food specialists and we can help them, hahaha. The place was packed but they had no problems to handle it with ease. And our food was delivered very quickly, too.The food was supreme! Probably in my top 3 and the list is lengthy! The meals are worth every penny (for those who say it’s pricy). I had a Sogliola Di Dover and my bf - Costoletta Di Vitello. Both of them were amazing, I wish I could eat the dish!Their wine list is very rich, as well. We had a hard time picking. We wanted a specific wine from 2015 (since we got together in that year ). The waiter recommended Castello Dei Rampolla, Chianti Classico, which turned out to be just perfect. What I also liked about the places is that it is easy accessible and not hard to find. It is very close to the theatres and you can always have some classy bite after/before a classy show.In short – it was an anniversary to remember.
Absolutely worth coming here. Fresh food. Crispy calamari. Desserts tasted home made in an Italian kitchen. I definitely would like to come again. Only thing I didn’t like was the service. Service was basic and what you would expect, but, we were attended to by multiple servers and the main guy we started with seemed focused on another table. I also did not like that we turned down the NYC tap water and were then brought a large bottle of tap water (which we did not ask for and thought was a complimentary gesture - since we didn’t like NYC tap water). We later found out the bottle (that we did not ask for) was not complimentary and cost us $10. Some of the utensils were also not properly washed. Outside of this though, I would DEFINITELY come back. The food was really that good.
The food is very good here. The fried calamari is made tender with a nice golden batter and the sauce is maybe one of the best Ive ever had. Ive tried almost everything on the lunch price fix menu and have been very happy with almost everything. I My only disappointment was with the burger which was a nice size but pretty basic and the bun was very dry. This was the one time I just felt like not doing the when in Rome thing. The fries, however were perfect. The common problem here is the inconsistency in portion size. Youll find yourself envious of the people at the table who have literally double the size of your steak, salmon or cheese cake and in some cases it looks like you have half of a half. The other minor complaint was that the accompanying vegetables were cold or at room temperature. With that said, this is probably the best Italian restaurant in the neighborhood and well all be back.
Just checked into the Crown Plaza and asked for good Italian close by that is okay with kids. This restaurant is amazing!!! We dealt with about 7 staff members, all as polite as can be.The food was amazing. The calamari best I have ever had!!!They split a spaghetti and meatballs for my two kids, trying to save me some money. This would be a weekly stop if I wasn’t from NH.
Great experience! They were busier than expected and we had to wait for our table... We had booked a show and were concerned about the time. The manager apologized for the wait and made our meal a priority once we were seated. He checked back several times to make sure our food came out quickly and that we were happy. He also comped our drinks at the bar for the wait.We really valued the effort he went through to ensure we were happy and that we didnt miss the show. We will definitely go back! Also the food was good and the decor was nice!
My girlfriends and had an early birthday dinner here and both the food and the service were truly impeccable! We are native Bronxites, who are African American, and the food was very tasty and truly full of “soul”! I ordered the calamari and the eggplant appetizers. My palate was abundantly satisfied and the Pinot Grigio that was recommended by our waiter topped off the whole meal !!!Yes, it’s a little pricey but it was certainly well worth it!!! Shout out to Aulam, our very conscientious and patient waiter!!!! Will definitely return to this establishment real soon!!!
First time visiting after an afternoon show! Service was outstanding, meals were all right on. I enjoyed the Bronx Tail while my wife raved about the Lamb chops. We started with a few drinks and the Calamari, which was some of the best weve ever had. Finished with Tartufo and a warm Apple Pastry! Loved everything about the place! Our only regret was not running into Chazz...We are both huge fans!
Very nice Italian restaurant. Busy Saturday afternoon crowd. The staff handled the coming and going crowds well all while taking care of our party of 8. Nice short walk from the Broadway area. Everything we ordered was delicious. Cooked to perfection. Deserts were solid. They were out of the duck ravioli, so its a reason to visit again.
This is one of the my favorite restaurants for Italian food. The clam oregano app is amazing and I really liked the chicken parm and pasta. Beer in a cold glass; its simple but cannot believe how many restaurants serve warm beer. This place is great; highly recommend it.
My son took me there for a Mothers Day surprise (the Friday before). It was quiet when we got there but picked up a little by time we left. The food was fabulous. I had grilled squid as an appetizer and a fresh pasta dish. My son had a seafood special that looked amazing. Fun experience as I actually sat diagonally across the restaurant from Mr. Palminteri himself (I left him alone)!

2022-03-05From the outside when you walk by, this place is a sleeper...one cannot see the two spacious dining rooms in the back. In the bottom of the new Hilton Garden Inn...what amazing flavors in food. Stopped in for a quick happy hour bite and Im hooked. Great happy hour drinks...I went with an old fashoned. Sat at the bar. Just for a quick bite and drinks...out came the amazing bread, olive oil with chopped vegetables, fresh parmesesen cheese and olives. My meatballs, with fresh ricotta cheese and fresh basil were amazingly flavorful.

2022-07-09My daughter and I were treated like family here. Every staff member was kind, attentive, and absolutely lovely. We stayed at the hotel and popped in for dinner on three nights of our stay. They always took us without a reservation and made us feel so special. We cant wait to visit NY again and to come back. To top it off, everything we ate was positively delicious.

2021-09-03I visited at 1:15 pm. on the Friday before Labor Day weekend. Not surprisingly, the restaurant was empty. This place has a beautiful atmosphere, and the Seafood Risotto was divine. One of the best meals I have ever had. The service was great too. The portion size was good too... I couldnt finish it!

2021-11-13Stopped in last night around 7-8pm. Our party of 5 ate outside. The food wasn’t bad.. the pasta was really good, but for $35+ the chicken parmigiana was not good. It looked and tasted like something from a $15 plate. For the price I’d expect a slit stuffed breast. The waiter also seemed like he was annoyed and said he couldn’t split our bill up, so I had to get up to have them do it. I wouldn’t eat there again. Over priced food with not the best service

2021-07-21A great Italian place! The service was truly amazing. Our server understood that we were vegetarians and he customised everything so well. Nice Wine selection and the complimentary bread is delicious. Usually I struggle to finish a plate of Ravioli in one go but I couldn’t help myself from clearing the plate. Pasta was amazing too. Definitely recommend this place. Perfect for a candle lit date night. Thank you Chazz Palminteri for beautiful dinner experience! 😊

2022-04-17Had dinner here for the first time tonight, will definitely be back. Quiet and classy atmosphere with very friendly and attentive staff. They bring bread, oil, parmesan cheese, and olives to start. My friend and I both had cocktails which were strong and well made. We had the four cheese tagliatelle and spaghetti and meatballs, both were delicious and the portions were just right. They have a great dessert menu as well, we had the cheesecake and chocolate ice cream. The bill was ~$130 before tip which is very reasonable for NYC, good food and drink, and stellar service.

2022-02-14Went there today and the food, the atmosphere, and service was great. I wanted to come here for my wife’s and my birthday, for we share it on the same day. We unfortunately got sick and had to wait and made it be this day. I am so glad I brought her here and walked across the street and bought a bottle of Italian Red Wine. Thank you for the great dinning, most definitely recommend and would come again.
