Honestly, if someone said they have the best pizza in NYC I would agree. Their slices are amazing! What hinders me from giving them more than 3 stars is the fact that there have been many times where the staff is not demonstrating the most hygienic practices. The folks behind the counter are constantly not wearing gloves, and handle both cash and then the food without washing their hands or putting gloves on. During a pandemic, this skeeves me out even more.I love this place, but honestly I may have to stop visiting should I keep noticing this issue. Its gross.
One of the best pizza places on the Upper West Side, and absolutely the #1 best spot thats open late. They will deliver until 4 a.m. if you call them (online orders end at 1:30 a.m. though). The salads and the appetizers that Ive had (such as the fried shrimp and fried calamari) arent quite as good as the pizza, but thats to be expected when it comes to casual NYC pizza joints. Theyre not *bad;* theyre just not as good as the pizza. The desserts that Ive had (cannolis and zeppoles) are great though, especially when they make the zeppoles the traditional way, as little spheres of fried dough rolled in confectioners sugar. Sometimes they make them differently, more like a funnel cake, which is still good, but not as good as those little dough balls of sugary bliss. I would give them 4.5 stars, but since you cant do half-stars, Im rounding up to 5. Will update next time I order to post pictures of the pizza.
The pizza was undercooked. The Mexican cooking the pizza was rude, refused to give me parmesan cheese, and refused to give me garlic powder after I told him the jars was empty. He was extremely rude. So sad because had it not been for him ruining my pizza I would of came back. This place is not worth your money. Avoid at all cost.
This is my go-to pizza place. I understand everyone has their preferences, and this is mine. For me, this place has the best crust, hands down. Its the right flavor, texture and thickness. My only gripe is that two toppings cost more than one. I get this is a universal pricing standard, but it still makes no sense to me, because the toppings cover the same size of space regardless of how many toppings you get. Pizza topping price should be based on what it is (meat vs. veggie vs. etc), than amount of toppings.
Owner is super nice! My brother and I come here a lot since it was minutes away from the hotel we were staying at. We usually come here at night and I personally think the service is better at night. When we came during the day the lady that was serving us was rude. The pizza they serve here is huge and cheesy 😋! love it!
As the name implies, you get a cheesy pizza here. It was good, but it was a little bit too chewy for me. They dont worry too much about keeping the tables overly tidy either. Its a good neighborhood place for a slice. You get a soda if you order two slices, which is cool.
The best pizza I’ve ever had! 11/10 on all flavours. The staff give really good info on all of the pizza and personally the best one is the chicken and bacon and the buffalo chicken! Its very good value for money! I’ve only been in New York for 5 days and have already visited 3 times and intend to visit again.
Omg I love love love love this pizza! Its just with the right amount of cheese and they make it the way you ask. My sister always takes me here and each and every time I enjoy it. I told my husband I will take him here the next time we visit NYC bc its a must! If you dont go, I suggest that you should....its clean and they have other typebof foods. They also have a major variety of pizza flavors
Best pizza around that area! I always go Around morning/afternoon time so around that time I always thought the staff were nice to me. I reviewed a few comments below me and i was very confused to what they had said about a toaster oven? It is a real oven that has actual fire but it just cooks the pizza quicker. Many places around where i use to live (brookyln) have them. I would recommend trying them to anyone!
I just love this place, its open late and make the best beef patties in the neighborhood, I hate try other places, but always come back here. The staff is also super friendly they become more like family the more I go there. My only complaint is that if you are ordering thing that gets away from pizza and such the taste is not always there. But anyway its a nice place to hang out and have a really good slice of pizza.
I had a plain slice of pizza it was ok the sauce lacked flavor usually I eat my pizza without condiments this pizza a had to add some oregano, garlic powder, and some red pepper flakes in order to enjoy it. Place was clean and the people behind the counter was plesent.
It was ok, they was open after the 12am on New Years eve. It was clean. I ordered a meatball calzone, the older gentleman at the register called out the order saying a calzone. I repeated that I wanted a meatball calzone. Anyway I was given a gyro calzone. My fiance got a gyro that was really good though.
Sorry that the previous poster had such a bad experience. In my personal experience the pizza has been consistently delicious at all hours of the day and night - and my husband, who is an NYC native, says it tastes like the amazing former pizza parlor Vinnies which used to be in the Lincoln Center neighborhood up until about 10 years ago. Cheers!PS - Perhaps he shouldnt have chosen Buffalo wings for his pizza topping, because that is always a mistake no matter what pizza joint you go to. My advice? Stick to the classics. : )
This place was everything you would expect from a NYC pizzaria. Pizza by slice was the way to go. Perfectly crispy and fantastic. The staff was great and very helpful. The atmosphere was excellent. We went to several pizza stops in NYC and this one was by far the best, so we kept coming back!
I hadnt had a slice from this place in a while. I remember how cheese and chewy with the right amount of tanginess their slices were. So I go in yesterday and this middle aged lady is handling money and putting slices in the oven with her bare hands. The worst part was she had long nails, so who knows what was under them. I left very disappointed and grossed out.
Large-scale slices (surpasses the plate!) on a thin, tender, crunchy, flavourful crust. Being so near to Sal & Carmines, I hesitated to go here, but am glad to have tried something new. Because it was delicious. My veggie slice ($5) had sliced black olives, canned mushrooms, chopped broccoli, diced fresh white onion and an extra sprinkle of mozzarella on the top. The sauce is good and tomatoey, which i love, and the cheese a typical NYC pizza blend.Calm environment, thankfully no blaring music, and perfectly bilingual (English-Spanish) staff.Seating is limited to 13 seats at tables, and Cheesy Pizza itself is in one of the beautiful historic buildings that gives the Upper West Side its pleasant character.
The guys who run this place are a bunch of scumbags. Sometimes they accept credit cards, other times they demand cash and say no credit cards even though their door clearly says they accepts all major credit cards. What a joke. Pizza is subpar, only thing decent is the chicken fingers. Avoid this place at all costs.

2021-08-24Great stop for a slice. I favor this place over others as the pizza is fresh and you can tell it hasn’t been sitting out and slices are large. Great customer service, very friendly. Will stop in again for a slice, soon.

2022-05-29Absolutely delicious food, amazing ambiance and great service! The pizza crust is perfect, the toppings (especially the burrata, mortadella and calabrese) were super fresh. We had the banana pie which was lovely. Remember to save space for their desserts! Highly recommend 10/10! Service was also awesome. Yumi in particular was super kind, welcoming and had great recommendations. The whole experience was splendid. Will be coming here often.🤩🤩

2022-05-26The owner and his wife were extremely nice. The pizza was good for our late night arrival. Surprised so many restaurants were closed so early.

2022-02-27Tried to order on Uber eats and there was no way to order a simple Hawaiian pizza. I had to call to amend it. The lady up-charged me $6-8 for a pizza that was already $28. I’ve never heard of up-charging so much just for simple ham and pineapple toppings. What a rip-off.The pizza itself was just okay. I won’t be coming back.

2022-01-02Amazing pizza and chicken tenders.Terrible delivery service though. It’s been horrendously late/delayed when I’ve ordered through Seamless and I had to cancel my last order because it had been over an hour!
