I hate to do ⭐⭐ because there wasnt anything significantly wrong with the food except for PRICE (more on that later) and the lady who takes the orders (I think I heard a regular call her Michelle?) shes a pleasant person. BUT, Im sorry, OVER $10 for 4 chicken wings & French fries?! Im sorry, this particular dish which holds major nostalgia for me should NEVER cost OVER $10. Ten dollars flat wouldve been a bad enough disappointment but I think I would handle it better (they even have a sign posted about rising costs forcing increase in menu prices) but those several cents over $10 particularly offended me. Even with inflation, I dont think 4 CW & FF (at your basic Chinese food spot in the hood) should total more than $8; it definitely shouldnt be $10 or more. Obviously, you can see how PRICE has triggered me and hence the low rating. PLUS the young lady (not maybe-Michelle) forgot hot sauce on my CW. Thats a felony! And I mentioned at least three times: Ketchup on the fries and A LOT of hot sauce on the chicken wings.
Underrated Chinese Food.I ordered the sesame chicken with chicken fried rice for lunch and it was delicious. It definitely compares favorably with the many different Chinese fast food restaurants that I have been to. Price is similarly cheap too. I was surprised at the chicken fried rice option, usually its only pork fried rice for lunch. Will come back to try other dishes!
Unfortunately Ive had some really Terrible, horrible, rediculous, just outright no good situations and experiences in this establishment. Not only does it occasionally smell like dogs fecel matter in there, but the food is downright horrible. There is another Chinese food store in the 10301 area I would recommend over this one and it is called Green Tea. Wayyyyyyy better quality when it comes to the taste of the food. On top of it all, the service at Chef Hong was terrible, after getting the order I placed incorrect 3 orders in a row, the woman behind the counter and answering the phones had the Gaul to flip out on me in front of an exgirlfriend, who all most beat her senseless for showing me such disrespect. Terrible place I dont recommend it to anyone.
I would give them below one star if i could. The rice is under cooked and hard. the egg roll is super dry and the general tsos chicken im unsure is even real at this point. My coworkers nor myself will be ordering from here again. huge disappointment!! whomever stated this was the best food on staten island is either a liar or has been paid to say this. im throwing $13.75 in the trash right now!!! its not even edible!
The place is filthy , they have a nasty attitude and they don’t have sanitary practices. I saw the nasty girl at the front counter cough with a heavy phlegm filled throat into her hand and then go prepare food with her bare hands. I walked out. I only went to this place because there are limited choices for food in this area- but positively NEVER AGAIN after witnessing that !!!
At first she would think that the people kind a rude but honestly they just on earth they just like me and you really great service really grateful also if they get to know you I have no problem doing whatever it is you need them to do with delivery to coming down to the store bring in a family and catering they’re just awesome
I would rate a negative star if I could -5 to be exact the food was disgusting like the low menu was nasty and nothing like I ever tasted the beef with scallions was gross and had a powdery after taste I found a hair in the low mein and several other hairs in my beef with broccoli there were three in the lid one in between the container and one under a piece of broccoli please read reviews before ordering don’t eat from this place it’s worse then the one in Stapleton

2022-04-05My wife ordered from seamless and the wrong order was delivered with the wrong customization. We called the restaurant directly and the woman on the phone was exceptionally patient and walked us through the process of making it right through seamless. Even staying on the line until it was all sorted. The correct dish was delivered promptly and was delicious. Many thanks for working hard to fix our order.

2022-05-02The lady in the front was so kind and nice. I ordered the kung pao chicken with chicken fried rice and told them to use the sesame chicken with the kung pan sauce since I like my chicken crispy. They did it perfectly, crispy chicken with that kung pan sauce and all the vegetables. The rice was delicious and a good amount of that. Overall the food was delicious and the service was top knotch. I will definaetly come by more often and try their other dishes. Highly recommend!
