Chelsea Piers in other cities:
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST GYM IN NEW YORK CITY.I was shopping for a gym for quite some time. I always wanted to go to Equinox but they did not let me even have a try workout and swim in the pool before I join, they had the poorest customer service full of attitude and pretentiousness so i decided not to join.Friend of mine suggested to give it a try to a Chelsea Piers Fitness. I was looking for a gym with a pool so i schedule appointment for a tour.Since the moment i walked in, it was nothing but incredible experience in so many levels. Anant welcomed me warmly, gave me a great tour, explained me the benefits that i get with the membership and I decided to join on the spot. $200 is not cheap membership but it is so much worth of every dollar and more. As a courtesy i got 300$ on my account that i can spend in personal trainings or guest passes and 3 trainings free. I did my free trainings with Marino who was super nice, funny and professional. In just 3 training Marino pointed out what i should work on and gave me great exercises and tips. I love to swim too, and their pool is just what I needed. Daylight, view on river, hot tub, never too crowded, again staff at the pool super nice. The best part is that i joined wall climbing class with Dante and it was mind blowing. First i had preparation safety class with Sky and he was extremely nice and professional. Then i had a class with Dante and he was such an amazing teacher. Nice, professional, patient, and so encouraging and i am in owe that he actually made me to do that high wall all the way to the top. The feeling after is just beyond. I am officially hooked to wall climbing! All together i love that gym so much and i am so grateful and happy that i find it! Feels like home. Highly recommended guys!
They have serious power problems. We showed only 188 volts on a line that should have 220-240, causing electrical issues. Then we were moved to another location that was not much better. 195 volts. The t head was only 6 feet deep at low tide so we were sitting in the mud. The dock master was helpful , but he cant solve these problems. We will never go back.
I went on the Hornblower dinner cruise. It was horrible. Started at 7,but didnt depart until 7:20. Sailed to pick up their NJ customers until 7:40. Didnt serve us dinner until 8:20. By the time we ate there was less than 20 minutes to enjoy the views on the deck. Ordered a drink, never got it. I was very disappointed because Hornblower cruises used to be really fun.
Itd be great if Chelsea Piers or the police could keep the crack dealer out of the northern bathroom adjacent to the park, since I brought my little boy in and dude was dealing rock out of the last stall. He even told me not to use the last stall because he was using it. Seriously guys.
This is a very fun & very exciting entertaining place in new york city theres lots to do here sports shooting pool bowling eating & drinking you can pretty do much do it all here. In one place Ive been here a few times and Ive had lots of fun here with my friends theres parking here too but you gotta come early this place gets packed especially Friday & Saturday nights before you know they wont let you in when it gets really packed with people you will be turned away by security which is very tight here so youll feel safe here too I recommend this place for anyone bring your family tour friends your co workers its all the same you will have fun in this big huge place of entertainment worth it let me tell you
We went there for the batting cages and we had lots of fun. Surprisingly not too busy, we could get a cage pretty easily just for ourselves. You have the choice of two speed, pick the fastest pitch if you want a bit more challenge. Definitely recommend for some good fun.
This is a state of the art sports facility. Really you can do anything here from ice skate, hockey, driving range, horse back riding, basketball, yoga, trapeze, the choice is yours. There is even a bowling alley on site. Its a little hard to get to. Expect to walk a few avenues from the subway.
Great place to go to have a good time. The Marina I think charges 50 bucks for 3 hours to dock then take a cab or walk to go have dinner. I was going to pull up at the Marina with my boat but the season ended. Next year. Here are some pics I took on the Hudson and around Manhattan.
This place is very large and a lot of things you can do. I love playing basketball at indoor complex but it barely has open so you must call to reserve a court. They also having batting cages and gymnastics. I love going bowling and hitting golf balls into the hudson river.
Great variety of classes (boxing, weight lifting, rowing, yoga, rock climbing, swimming) and corresponding facilities. Not as polished as some of the other high end gyms, but a good location nonetheless. Not too crowded on weekday mornings. Note, Sunday morning is family day, so lots of kids until 2pm.
The place is great especially the laser tag and the bowling. Improvement on the staff could be done. We were told we dont need to sign up and should come back in 15 min to go on the rope climbing. When we came back they told us a party has booked it and we have to wait 1.5 hours for them to be done. Ruined the experience for us.
I love this gym so much and whenever someone asks me for a recommendation to wok out, I always tell them to go here. Its my absolute favorite gym in NYC. I only go here whenever I can through Classpass or the first time trial because its a little out of the way for me, but the boxing class is super good (trained by a boxing professional), I love the Olympic-sized swimming pool, and all the equipments in the gym. Spacious, professional, and great location right by the pier.
For all of the times Ive done winter skating outdoors, Id never made it over to Chelsea Piers to the rink. The rink size was nice - it felt roomier than say Bryant Park, and it wasnt as crowded. I liked the $.75 locker option by the rink - very helpful. Prices were higher but I felt like I got more for it.
I attempt to use the batting cages (daytime, during the week). 3 times I have called to see if the cages are being used - 3 times Im told no, theyre free, then show up and bam! Not allowed due to a group/school using them. Meanwhile, for 30 minutes after that no one is using them.
We had 4 hours to kill with my son (3 years old) while visiting NYC and spent 2 and a half of it at the Chelsea Piers. Although the only reason this review is not 5/5 is the size of the room is rather small, its actually quite thorough in engagement and fun for kids of all ages. We were there with four other parents whose kids were younger and everyone had a great time. The space is very clean, spotless actually, and easy to get to. Highly recommended for locals or visitors.
I went bowling for my kids the guy in the front told me the price$ 10.99 he didnt tell me per game I saw in the paper Monday unlimited I told him so my kids can play whatever they want?t it doesnt matterthe time ? he said yes I asked him to make sure . After we finsh they want charging me $ 244 I shocked and he makes me so pisst and he makes my kids cried and scared because I cant pay this amount he told me unlimited after 8 pm.. we tooke a very hard time and he charged me $ 123 they Rob people I told him I am not crazy if I know the price and let my kids play that much game and pay a lot of money. He didnt tell me per game he didnt tell me the time. I need my money back
Weve been living in New York City for the last two decades and have always been drawn to Chelsea Piers for this and that (say, disco bowling). But when we had kids the stakes (on fun) were raised and Chelsea Piers has provided lots and lots of opportunities for just that--birthday parties, gymnastics classes, skate park, you name it---and well be happily hitting events and activities there ad infinitum!!!

2022-06-01This place is really cool, really fun. I was invited to the driving range today. Got to whack some balls. The tee sets the ball itself, I just swung over and over again. Even felt myself improving over the 2 hour period.Overlooking the Hudson, laughing and enjoying the easy vibes. Felt like a nice getaway even though I was still in the heart of the city. Definitely will return soon

2022-06-04It was an enjoyable outing with good food and a very capable DJ that kept the hits coming. He easily satisfied the musical tastes of an inter- generational crowd.

2020-08-17There is a parking garage. I went on a dinner cruise and Chelsea Piers was a great place to take a taxi to and from the pier. A great place for indoor and outdoor recreation. A beautiful clean place to take pictures and enjoy the scenic view of the river.

2021-07-31My wife and I took a Champagne cruise and really enjoyed it. The Manhattan II was very covid compliant with plexiglass partitions up. The cruise was lovely and the scenery is just beautiful.

2022-03-13Two ice rinks with a snack bar and pro shop. And if you need to kill time, head over to the arcade and bowling alley. There is also a golf driving range. But beware, the parking is pricey.
