I called Cherrywood foot care this morning after being in pain for three weeks. It was. an amazing experience from the office to the Doctor.They had me come right in and helped me through the paperwork easily.Dr. Spinner then saw me and listened to my problem and determined what had to be done. Compared to other doctors and eye doctors I have been to during the COVID 19 pandemic safety regulations were not adhered to. Besides having to call before I entered no one checked my temperature there wasn’t a bottle of hand sanitizer around except in the doctors personal office on her desk. I have been to nail salons and had my temperature taken and had to use hand sanitizer before I entered. I feel that for the safety of the patients these guidelines need to be followed. The care I received from the doctor was excellent.
I went to Cherrywood Foot Care for the treatment of pain in my heel that has been bothering me for the past few months. The staff that greeted me were extremely professional and the office was very clean. Dr. Erica Papathomas took a thorough history, examined my heel, reviewed x-rays and explained the etiology of my problem. She then put me on a comprehensive treatment plan, including a night splint. I walked out of the office feeling much better. My only regret is that I should have gone there sooner!
The people that wrote negative reviews must not have been to this office. My sister-in-law told me how wonderful the doctors and office staff were. Even though I live in Rockaway ( 25 miles away ) I decided to try them. My sister-in-law called the day before and they fit me in. My appointment was for 1030 and I arrived at 1003. I was in the examining room at 1037.Dr. Erica Papathomas was amazing and so was the staff. My treatment was excellent even though I have no health insurance. This is a caring doctors office not motivated by greed but by care to the patient and I highly recommend it.
I visited cherrywood to have laser done. The doctors were very knowledable and were able to give me all of the information I needed to make my decision to have the work done. The doctors informed me that the services were not 100% guaranteed as the treatments worked differently based on the client and the severity of the issue. However, after getting the work done, my nails are completely healed and the outcome was more than I could have hoped for. Thank you to the great team of doctors at cherrywood! I will be recommending your services to anyone in need.
Dr. Shapiro is an outstanding doctor. I was very afraid to take care of the various problems with my feet. Ive been going to him regularly and wouldnt go anywhere else. Hes personable and very professional. The staff is friendly and welcoming! Best podiatrist ever!!!!!!!!
Dont be fooled by the niceness at first. I recently tried to get a claim form for my insurance company and was told I had to pay $25.00. I went back and forth with the billing individual (and I am being nice) who said that they charge because everyone charges for their work. I could go on and on, but beware if you need anything. Now I know why this office has such a high turnover rate.
Yesterday, after 3 months of nail fungus laser treatment paid by credit card in full, I was informed that the Doctor who assured me 90% nail improvement had left or was fired and that maybe I was expecting miracles if I wanted to see improvements for more than 40%. By the way, the previous Doctor was more interested in selling me the treatment and other products. I said I was not expecting miracles but by now I wanted to see at least some improvements, which by the way now my nails look worse than when I started the treatment. After my visit, they asked for the co-payment and I explained that the visit was just a follow up from the laser treatment. I refused to pay the co-payment and will call my insurance this morning to block payment. In overall, I was robbed of my money and Cherrywood Foot Clinic will not even give me an option. According to Dr. Hailemaichel, I am expecting miracles. I will also call my credit card to dispute the charges.
Cherrywood foot care shows nothing but professionalism. Their staff is compassionate, knowledgable, and they put their best interest into their patients. I couldn’t be happier with my decision in choosing them and without a doubt would recommend Cherrywood.
I rarely rate or write comments, but I had to go out of my way to rate this place. I went to Cherrywood Foot care because of the great review on Google and their #1 Podiatrist on long Island ranking. When I first went inside, the living room was crowded. They have about 10 chairs packed in a tiny lobby/ entrance/ reception area (3-in one). The staff was nice and friendly and had a nice demeanor even though it was late in the day (5pm) and lots of people coming and going. but the service was anything but professional. after an hour of waiting past my appointment time, i was called in. The doctor came in and briefly looked at my feet without even touching and asked if i knew what my condition was. I said yes, she then told me she would prescribe something and just like that, without even touching my feet was already dispatching me. I stopped her and tried to give her my medical history and emphasized that I needed help and this was not my first time attacking this problem. her demeanor changed for the worse. It seems like she had an attitude and was mad that i didnt let her just brush me off. I left that place 5 minutes after being called in. and Im going back to see my original podiatrist. At least he took the time to examine my feet properly, and actually listened to me. He even rubbed some cream on my feet and then gave me samples and a prescription. But at cherrywood this was not the case. If you like going to DMV, then you will love this place. They sure know how to make you feel like just another number. BTW the doctors name was Annie ZEB
How many doctors do you know who would open their office just for you? I called Cherrywood Footcare last week during the snowstorm, because my daughter hurt her foot badly while cheerleading. Not only did Dr. Burke answer his cell, but he agreed to open the office have my daughter evaluated. We were just as happy with the follow up, as the staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. My daughter felt so comfortable there, and I felt confident in their abilities. I would truly recommend Cherrywood Footcare as a place you would want to bring your family.
This is a very friendly, professional establishment. The new office is warm and friendly with a highly efficient staff. Always punctual with both me and my husbands appointments. SHOES OFF TO DR.PAPATHOMAS. I highly recommend for all your tootsies needs!
Dr. Papathomas is awesome! I just had my bunion removed after over twenty years of pain. The procedure was easy and I am really experiencing very little pain after surgery. Its amazing, I had heard this operation was very difficult and uncomfortable. I am walking and driving already and its only been 5 days! Dont wait, its not a big deal when you have the greatest doctor ever!! ...thanks doc :D
Would recommend this place to anyone! Their team was very experienced and professional. They helped figure out the best treatment option for me and made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be going back for all my foot care needs!
Yes the office is neat and tidy, the front desk staff is very nice, but the doctor I saw was an idiot! I went to Cherrywood foot care for a checkup about diabetic Neuropathy, there are tests that can be done to check for this condition and I explained the problems I was having, he said no he doesnt think I have a problem, maybe he should have put on his X-RAY glasses he did nothing to test for foot problems, just the plain old get them in cut their nails and rush them out the door for the next customer.Ill never be back to the butcher shop! It should be mentioned I was seen by Dr Barry.
Decent doctor but terrible at keeping appointments. You will wait at least half an hour in his office and possibly an hour or more.
I had a terrible experience at Cherrywood. I should have read the reviews before going there because the wait times really are horrendous, even when you get to the examination room. Worst of all, the doctor seemed to be more interested in selling shoes and orthotics than getting to the root of my foot pain
They have a great team of doctors. Also the staff is top notch. I can say enough about the office. If its an emergency they always make a way to fit you in without waiting a long time
I had a toe nail removal procedure peform by Dr. Shapiro and he made it painless as possible. Im very happy with the out come and recommend him highly.
Dr.Burke saved me. I was going to a wedding in two weeks, and i had a badly infected ingrown toenail. I couldnt even wear closed toe shoes. In just one visit he cleared the infection, allowing me to wear my shoes for the wedding. The office is clean,and the staff is very supportive. Thank you Cherrywood Footcare.
Dr. Papathomas was exceptional. She spent a lot of time, during which, she explained everything about the procedure she did, clearly and thoroughly.She was highly professional and extremely pleasant.

The office accommodated me in two hours notice and i was never there.They worked my papers at my request quickly. Very caring and efficient staff.Dr Papathomas w.o.w! If you are looking for a Podiatrist, keep looking. Dr Barry is more interested in selling over the counter products and laser treatment than properly diagnosing a problem. He came across has inexperienced and had little or no confidence in what little he did say. I left there with a bad taste in my mouth.

WAITED ALMOST 2 HOURS FOR A DOCTOR TO FINALLY SEE ME AND ALL I GOT WAS AN X-RAY. HAD TO LEAVE TO GO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER RECEIVED A CALL OVER THE PHONE TO TELL ME WHAT I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH. I EXPLAINED TO THEM HOW I WAS UPSET BUT TO THEM I GUESS IT WASNT THAT IMPORTANT. BASICALLY PAID 60.00 CO PAY FOR 1 X-RAY AND WHEN I CALLED TO GO BACK FOR WHAT WAS A FOLLOW UP WAS TOLD 60.00 MORE. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO NO ONE.

She was very thorough with explaining my condition to me and gave me a lot of helpful information. I would absolutely recommend this place!

2021-08-17I would give this place zero stars simply because of their billing practices and front desk staff. I came into this office because my foot doctor retired and I was having an emergency. The doctor was great and the procedure went well. Except he asked me to come in for two follow up visits. The first follow up visit was free of charge for me, even though the receptionist tried to collect my copay. This was covered under a “global” period since I had just paid for the procedure the week prior so I didn’t have to pay a copay. The doctor said my toe was healing great and had zero issues. But he still asked me to come in two weeks later to check again. Thinking it would still be under the umbrella of my initial procedure, I went. Both follow up visits were less than a minute long. After the second follow up visit they billed my insurance for a third time and asked me for a co-pay. This time, apparently, it wasn’t covered under a “global” period and they billed my insurance for a regular doctors visit instead of a follow up which is what it was. Again each follow up visit was less than a minute long (after driving in from Suffolk county during a work day). Why would the doctor ask me to come in for a third time for an absolutely pointless appointment if it was no longer under the “global” period? The answer is to scam me and my insurance and make money for doing nothing. I voiced my concern over this several times at the office, over the phone and to my insurance. Today, while staring my frustration over a complete waste of my time and money, the front desk told me “well at least you have insurance some people don’t.” What does that have to do with this issue? Yes, the health care system in this country is a complete scam and harmful to everyone. I’m well aware. But that’s not the issue here and was a completely inappropriate and out of line comment. She also said “I had witnesses in the waiting room” from my last visit when I also tried to fight this charge. Seems like a threat to me. What an awful way to treat people. Not everyone has $50 to throw away. Shame on this awful place. I am now on the hunt for a new foot doctor. I wish mine hadn’t retired.

2021-08-17Been going to this doctor for years and always dreaded dealing with the front desk people. They are always pushy. Their manners are atrocious and they just seem always mad. My last visit this month was the most pleasant experience Ive ever had there. Finally they hired a young lady who was polite and friendly and didnt make me feel like I was an inconvenience. Love the doctors and finally the rest of the office is starting to follow suit.

2021-02-05AMAZING experience, was sent here from Urgent Care in excruciating pain with a broken toe that needed to be drained of blood even my nail had to be removed. I was terrified and the girls at the front desk that I encountered first were professional and friendly and caring, they assured me that I would be seeing a gentle caring doctor and I was thrilled. My injuries were all treated gently oh, I didnt feel any pain, and I would set up well to leave for my aftercare and follow-up care with them. I literally cannot say enough good things about my experience there.

2021-05-11My son and I went here to get a orthotics for our flat foot. My wife went to a different one at the same time and got a pair within 2 weeks.Our insurance were going to end and we were told it is not an issue as they will submit before it ends. 3 months later no call. I called and they assure me they will take care of it and will get a manager to call me back the next day. I got a call 2 weeks later claiming they are working on it. I never heard back after that. I just gave up at this point.

2021-01-29My experience was less than acceptable. First of all nobody asked the required covid questions. Secondly nobody checked my temperature. But lastly and most importantly the girls working the front desk are miserable. They were positively arrogant. I had hoped the doctors service would make up for the girls behavior but at best it was nothing special.

2019-07-06Dr. Erica Papathomas is an amazing surgeon! Super friendly and accommodating. I totally felt at ease before, during and after my surgery. I visited her in her Astoria and Bellemore office for follow ups. My only complaint is in the Bellemore office, Cherrywood Foot Care, the front desk staff, specifically an older, white female was a little bit rude and abrupt. Not the friendliest personality. This is a shame because this is your introduction to this office. I think shes just too long on the job and probably despises patients. She should remember that for many patients like myself, this is my first visit to the clinic and she should be aware of that and not be so nasty. Leave your attitude at home and conduct business with professionalism and respect. Once you get passed this troll and see the doctor its an amazing experience. Its like night and day.

2014-02-11If I could rate them more than 5 stars I would! The office is extraordinarily clean, the employees are friendly and the care from the doctors is great. I waited 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment time to get into the room but they were well worth the wait. Actually felt like I was being cared for, rather than seen as just another patient as I have felt in other podiatry offices in the past. Glad I made the change to Cherrywood! Thanks Dr. Burke!!!
