Ive been coming to Chickens Road for years. I was even successful at having my job cater some lunches from here. Ive given them the benefit of the doubt, but for the last year or so, it has not been the same. The chicken has almost no meat (no ones fault, but Ive been chewing on random bones, and that never happened in the past). I loved this place in the past, but wont be returing. Its a waste of my money. Used to love this place.
For starters, they charge $5 delivery fee which is ridiculous and they dont tell you when you order. When we called they said, everyone does that actually no one does. The chicken was dry and had no taste. 2nd time ordering and the first time was just as bad. Gave it a 2nd chance and I regret it. The prices are also a rip off for the small portions you get. I will not be back

I miss this place! I used to order several times a week since I worked about a block away. The best pork ever! yummy yummy.. I have moved and wish they could ship to Florida for me ;-) came about leaving a review because I was searching for other locations. One of a kind!
I ordered the chicken cutlet platter with yellow rice and beans . I also ordered the cinnamon churros. The rice and beans were ok but the chicken was disgusting. I’m not sure what they season it with but it was not a pleasant taste it was also very dry and very very thin cut. The plantains were good and so were the churros.

I just starting working down the street from chickens road and have been meaning to check out their rotisserie chicken. I finally did today and Im soooo glad I did - the chicken is really delicious, and the the corn and mashed potatoes taste homemade and just like my moms. It was the perfect comfort food for a cold day. This is my new fave lunch/dinner spot and I HIGHLY recommend. Ps very nice service too 👍
Raw edges on a beef only empanada. Somehow the description forgot to mention rice. Super disappointed super dissatisfied.
Food is good but service is horrible. I just went to pickup my order & was waiting for 15 mins for a worker to come to the register to ring me up. I literally saw my food sitting there & after 10mins of waiting I had to yell to the workers for their attention. They were in the back talking ! I usually don’t even write reviews but this annoyed me. I told the worker that I was waiting for 15 mins and she said “oh I didnt even see you”…
For starters when I got my food it was cold as if it came from the refrigerator. Pretty sure that’s because my Uber driver made other stops before me. And it took him forever to pick the food up from the restaurant. There was a few things missing from my order. Not sure if it was an error on the restaurant or my driver. Unfortunately the portion sizes compared to the cost of their family meals is outrageous in my opinion. I got the two whole chicken family meal w 4 “large” sides. The sides were definitely not family size sides. That meal consists of 16 pieces of chicken and should feed at minimum 8 ppl. The sizes of the side definitely are not capable of doing that. I still had to cook more food to be able to feed a family of 5. This is with 3 toddlers. Out of all the food we received the yellow rice was the best thing & my kids loved the Mac & cheese. With that being said, the large Mac & cheese barely satisfies my 4,2 &1 yr olds they kept asking for more and it wasn’t any after they each got one serving. I will be going back to get more Mac & cheese and try the empanadas because my kids loved it and there wasn’t any for me to try.
UPDATE: I wanted to write an update to advise that I spoke with the Manager, Christina, today who was very apologetic about last nights delivery and order issues. She explained the difficulties going on in the kitchen last night and offered to refund my money. Now thats good business and good customer service! Thank you!Cant comment on the food as Ive been waiting for almost an hour for it to arrive. its now close to 9:00pm and this meal was supposed to be delivered by me to a close family friend whos mother is in the hospital. If you dont have enough drivers hire more. Very disappointing.

Came in sick last night. Ordered a homemade chicken soup with rice and veggies. Tostones and a smoothie. The portions in my opinion are not small. I’m seeing that in reviews a lot. They’re very healthy and filling portions and maybe it’s just that we’re so used to crazy big portions but quantity is not going to mean quality!!! The food was delicious and even had extra to take home. I was helped by Carlos and he gave the best service possible!!! He was so helpful, sweet, and funny! Me and my boyfriend both loved the visit and his presence alone made it feel sooo worth the visit. Thanks so much Carlos! You’re the best! Keep that positive attitude!!!
The food was good but expensive for Chicken , rice and beans and Also they charged me for each sauce (green, pink )including ketchup that I asked . The prices are outrageous . I don’t recommend this place
This place is outstanding! Ive lived close by for years and never thought to stop by. I came yesterday with my Mom and we were shocked by how delicious the food is. Not only are the portions large for the price, everything is fresh and cooked perfectly. Ive tried other restaurants similar to this and Chickens Road blows all the other restaurants out of the water. We had a beef and cheese empanada which was the best empanada Ive had to date. I had the chicken combo with 2 sides and a soda for under $11. You cant beat that! This will definitely be my new spot!

This place rocks, it was my first time here, staff was friendly and food was delicious, well priced, with great portions. Got the 1/2 rotisserie chicken with arapitas and mac and cheese, chicken was delicious, juicy and tender, sides were unreal, as well as that phenomenal green sauce. I also had the pork and jalapeño empanada, which was also amazing. Overall a fantastic spot and I will be back for sure.
This place is great! The food is really good, especially the chicken and empanadas. The service has always been friendly and attentive, with an overall positive vibe at all times. Took my hispanic girlfriend here several times and she loves it. I guess thats the ultimate test.
Wow, Im glad I found this place! Rotisserie chicken is great, beef and chicken empanadas great, green sauce great. Pernil was real good, too, but portion was a bit skimpy.
UPDATE : (10/19/20) Ive ordered a few times recently and theyve been more consistent with getting the order right. Plus tonight I happened to have a rough night and the staff made a nice gesture in taking my order even though they were closed. I would say dont expect this if youre reading this, but I just wanted to say I appreciated it. Good food on a bad day can make things much better.-------Loved this place at first, but the 2 stars is because they ALWAYS forget something that I order which is extremely frustrating. Then after you wait for yet another delivery while your food gets cold (or have to drive over there because youre too hungry to wait for another delivery), you have to pay for whatever they forgot to give you and they give you nothing complimentary or extra to even attempt to smooth things over.Wont be ordering here for a while for this reason. They need to have a better system for taking orders or something because, I get that people make mistakes, but it happens too often at this point.
I love this place eat here on a regular basis. Food is fresh and the portions are fair for the price. Owner is at the restaurant on a regular basis and is very friendly. There green sauce is amazing and the empanadas are delicious
This place is awesome. More of a takeout place than an eat-in but the chicken is so good and the sauces that compliment to meat are even better. Get the rotisserie chicken and try using some of that green sauce to compliment it, so good. Then get white rice with beans and again the green sauce to compliment it, so good
Everything was delicious, well packed, full of flavor, and it was super clean inside. I would recommend this place one thousand times over !!! Always enjoy chickens road !
Always drove by and wanted to try. Finally did and really DISAPPOINTED!! Ordered a beef bowl which had a tiny amount of steak and contained mostly corn and rice- $16. Also ordered a garlic salmon salad, which was tiny, contained once piece of fishy salmon coated in thick garlic, two slices of tomato and spinach- $15. Bland, boring and OVERPRICED! Avoid.
I had pulled pernil, rice and beans, maduros, and a beef empanada, and everything was delicious! So was their guac. I will definitely go back. Its a little pricey, just a tad, but completely worth it. Service was good, and the food came out fast. My friends also enjoyed everything they ate.
Food was tasty and well prepared. However for the total amount of food served, the portions were on the small side. I left hungry after my meal and did not want to spend 20 dollars on a (one person) chicken meal but the food is good.

Disappointment. Chicken was tender but Burnt taste / marks to rotisserie chicken? Tostones tasteold. I saw reviews of a great green sauce.. didnt get any and was very much needed. Too much money to be disappointed 😔
We come here often because the food is incredible. Ive been making my rounds of their dishes each time and I havent had one I didnt love. Everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.
Best empanadas in Nassau county. Best dipping sauce around. My family goes all the time and we are never disappointed. Great service, friendly help and wonderful food. We live in Long Beach and drive to bellmore just for the empanadas at least a couple times a month. Highly recommend to everyone of all ages even my 2 year old loves their quesadillas. I have driven passed this place for years but from the outside I just couldn’t tell what kind of place it was but my husband ate there with my daughter one day and raves about it. Tonight we went for dinner and WOW deeelicious! Everything was fresh and just delicious spanish food. I loved it. Will definitely be coming back!
Hard to find Spanish food on Long Island. We had the ropa veja dinner. Came with a side of white rice and fried plantains. Very Good. Reasonably priced. Serving size- Medium (not too much that youre stuffed and not too little that youre wondering what you just paid for!) If Im in the area again and want Spanish food...I will go there again.
I Wanted to stop by for a while and finally did today for lunch.Did not fulfilled my expectations food kind of tasteless, the servings are not enough for a good appetite and charging $8.00 for a few slides of avocado is ridiculous.Will never ever again come back.
If I could give a zero if I would, app won’t let me. The small portions for the high prices they charge is ridiculous. I ordered an extra large soup for almost 12$ , expecting a large portion and paying the extra money then the regular soup I was expecting a large portion. After I saw it I knew it was not an extra large portion. had to asked the waitress more than twice are you sure this is an extra large ?? She kept pointing at the plastic container and said yes it it. I’m a culinary chef from Le Cordon Bleu culinary school. And I can tell portions and they are sure ripping people off with their portions and high prices. I go to local Latin restaurants and order their soups and majority of their portions are big. Also most places don’t charge almost 6$ for an order of tostones , is crazy, I’m surprise they are still in business.Im Venezuelan and this place disappoints a lot.You want good Venezuelan food go to Venezuelan Cafe , Arepas grill or cachapas y mas in Astoria Queens.

This place is very clean, the food absolutely delicious, but very expensive in my opinion. We ordered 2 plates, 2 pineapple juices, guacamole, and 4 guava cheese empanadas, and the price was almost $85 !!!!!🤔🙊🤷♀️. Thank you anyway!!.
This place is a real treat. They have the tastiest rotisserie chicken and empanadas. The last time I was there I ordered a chicken wrap and it had huge delicious chunks of rotisserie chicken inside. Im getting hungry just writing this review, you must try it for yourself.

Food is good here. I usually order one of the combos which is a good price and plenty of food and a drink. Ive never eaten in the restaurant so i cant say how that experience is.

I love Chickens Road. The food is great, and Ive tried several of their dishes. Although we get take-out a lot, I also eat there often. Its a nice place and I recommend it to all.

2021-11-14Definitely not jumbo empanadas, very misleading. And the wings??? These should not be called wings. My tostones were definitely maduros and if you call that large, I would hate to see the small. That $52 definitely hurts my pocket. Not going back.

2022-06-16Empanadas were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. My chicken was juicy inside and crisp skin outside. Pork burrito was my favorite . Great spices to the meats here. For the best quality you definitely need to come in and order fresh. I can see it losing its zest that makes it so good if you wait for a delivery from uber eats or grub hub.

2021-01-31Oh man is all I can say. What the heck took me so long to find this place. So happy I ordered from them lastnight. They have a good selection of food, my food was hot, neatly packed and flavor flavor flavor. The driver had a stop before mine and still got my food to me nice and hot, I was worried it would be cold...much appreciated

2022-05-02The food was ok, Ive had better. The tostones were soggy because they put it under the rice and beans. The beans had no flavor and barely any gravy. The empanada was yummy.

2022-01-12I just ordered the family chicken with 4 sides to pick up. I specifically asked them not to over cook the chicken. They actually served burnt well done chicken. The mac and cheese was water and cheese, The mashed potatos were also loose and watery. The french fries were very good. Overall the food was unedible. Save your money do not go there it was horrible.

2021-10-19Someone wasn’t feeling well and needed vegetable soup and white rice. I ordered through Grub Hub while running errands and met the driver as I got home. 32 oz. of chicken vegetable soup, a side of white rice and two sodas were $21.70 but $28.28 after 20% tip ($4.71) and tax ($1.87), I also get free delivery. I had some of the soup, it was quite delicious and tasted home made, but the sick person here wished there were more potatoes in it. The sodas were nice and cold too.

2019-01-09Chicken and cheese empanadas are amazing. ❗️Must try the green cilantro sauce it’s my absolute favorite. Also the Apple empanada is great. Everything is always so fresh and even tho it’s fired I can honestly say I never feel gross and bloated after so they do a good job maintaining.
