Everything is pretty standard for a Chilis. Food is great and service is personable. Ive been seated immediately every time Ive been here. Decoration is pretty hip for a chain in Vestal. Not super vegetarian friendly, though - there are some vegetarian items and you can make any burger a veggie burger, which is super, but Ive noticed there are some items on the menu (this happened to me with the Santa Fe Crispers salad) where theres no mention of meat in the description, but the standard version of the item does in fact include some sort of meat. So if this is a concern for you just check with the waiter before you order.
My family and I have been going here for about a year once or twice a week. 2 weeks ago my husband and I were served almost raw steaks, my daughters salad included chicken that must have been heated in a microwave way too long. Her avocado slices were robbery and indelible. The staff is very nice but the food is awful lately.
Food quality was not great. Appetizers took 35 minutes but the main courses came out in 5.Gabby the waitress/bar tender/phone answerer was a waitress goddess. If I had my own place, Id offer quite a bit and take her. Shes that good. They need to watch food quality. We had bad chicken in with our boneless wings.
Horrible service and food. Came in for an early dinner. Found out they have no straws no kids cups no bottled water. Basically out of everything. They gave my 5 yr old a huge cup and basically said hopefully she wont spill. Waitress couldnt figure out how to put in my order and then forgot part of it. My daughters grilled cheese had to be remade 3 times bc it wasnt melted at all! My broccoli was so dry it was disgusting. They gave my husband tap water when he asked for bottled. And they were extremely rude the entire time.
Posting this while sitting at chilis. My Wife orders a medium steak and loaded mashed with no onions, my son gets the half rack of ribs. I went for the chicken fajitas.Appetizer was the onion rings and they were really tasty, crispy and plentiful. My side salad came out in a piping hot bowl which was odd but not a deal breaker.Our main course shows up and my Wifes steak is completely burned on one side and cooked beyond well all the way through. My sons ribs tasted as though the cook spilled an entire bottle of liquid smoke on them, now we knew the ribs were a gamble so we said nothing and simply ordered a burger for him as a replacement, planning to take the ribs home. He orders a plain double cheeseburger with fries. My Wife sends back her charcoal brick steak and hoped to receive an actual steak cooked to medium.Literally 20 minutes passes by, a nice waiter brings a burger to my boy, loaded with tomatoes, onions and lettuce. We talked to him and sent it back to get a plain burger as ordered. 10 minutes passes, no word from anyone on my wifes steak, the burger gets tossed down on the table again and an apology is casually issued. We open the burger, and guess what we found? Tomato seeds. Yeah, they just took the unplain burger in the back and scraped off the toppings. Completely unprofessional and a deal breaker.The waitress is sending over the manager. In the meantime my wifes steak arrives and is literally raw in the center. At this point were ready to leave to not deal with this anymore. The manager arrives and is very nice, saying hes remaking the burger and sending it out right away. We told them wed just bring the rare steak home and cook it ourselves.Now the good, my fajitas were absolutely amazing! So many toppings and very generous portions. The 3rd burger that was brought to my son was literally one of the top 10 best burgers weve ever eaten, which begs to ask, why not bring it correctly the first time!?All in all I have to say this place has potential but needs a lot of work to make us willing to eat here again. There are simply too many other chain restaurants in the area that get your food right every time to be spending almost 2 hours, hungry and upset.
I have been to chilis several times since opening. Service is not very good but food is good. Generally I dont write reviews but I feel obligated too now. I called this evening to reserve a table for 8, the gentleman I spoke to said there was no wait they were slow. I let him know I would be there within 5 minutes. When I arrived I was greeted with a hostess who was overwhelmed and a manager whos bedside manner could use some help. The woman I spoke to (I assume manager) said there would be a 20-30min wait. When I explained to her I called and spoke to a gentleman who knew I was coming. She was rude and said there was a wait (Even though I was just told no wait). Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere and will not be returning.
Several times we have gone to this Chilis and are left waiting inside the door, with our most recent experience today. No one comes to seat us. The wait staff glance over but dont acknowledge those of us waiting or let anyone else know we are there. If this happened just once I would understand but this has happened at least three times. We wait at least 10 minutes and then leave. Red Robin gets our business as Chilis doesnt seem to care about their customers. Very disappointing.
Food was mediocre came out sporadically for our party of 10. The issue was our server whose attitude was atrocious she stated she could not take a sauce off the plate and was snappy when we asked any questions specifically when we asked where our other table mates meals were we were told she knew we were missing meals but no explanation given on why will not be back to this location ever and two of our party said they will never be going to a chilis again as it was their first time and now last. Thanks again for poor service Hollywood
A manager or leader at Chilis named Ashley from vestal location is very unprofessional she is false advertising continues to put up a cooking job available when they are full with cooks they are looking for a dishwasher NOT cooks dont be fooled they waste your time and you think your applying to a Cooking job ask you all these cooks questions and offer but they wait until u leave to call and try to demean your work experience as a chief for the last 10 plus years offering you a dishwashing position due to kitchen being completely staffed sunshine was wasted at Chilis today dont waste your time as they did ours !!!!
I ordered a hamburger, no pink, with fries as well as a 6oz. sirloin, medium well, with sautéed mushrooms on the steak, and a caesar salad. First, the app did not let me add ketchup nor any steak sauce. Then, once the order was picked up, the steak was more medium than medium well which means a light pink center, there was quite a bit of blood. The mushrooms were raw and placed onto the salad instead of the steak. The croutons in the salad were so burnt thy were black and literally almost broke my tooth they were so hard. The burger looked thrown together and the bun was already falling apart even the we picked the food up at the exact time it was ready and ate in our truck (were truck drivers) which was parked outside. When my husband picked up the order he asked for ketchup since the app did not ask for such items and the host responded with there may be some in there, when my husband opened the bag, there was only 2 ketchup packets. My husband asked for a few more with a very rude eye gesture and sigh, the. hostess gave him 2 more. This was after my husband was almost hit in the parking lot by a Door Dash driver (whom decided to drive his Mercedes with the hood up) walking into the restaurant (even though we wear high visibility yellow/reflective jackets) and then rudely cut in front of by the same Door Dash driver and no employee there asked the driver t step back that someone was already waiting there for service. Will not go back ever again. Staff was rude and food order was messed up.
Usually good food at good prices with decent service. As a routine customer, I received very poor customer service on Sunday, June 10, 2018. 30 minutes seated with no service, not even to ask if we wanted drinks. They forgot to put pickles and tomato on my burger, but after 20 minutes with no server visit I just ate the thing. After over an hour in the restaurant I finally got dessert. It was cold lava cake with a solid chunk of lava in the center. Again, I couldnt have them fix it because the server didnt come back. I had to go to the front to try to pay my check after waiting another half hour after my terrible dessert, and then had to wait longer for someone to take my card. Two hours for a burger lunch! I should have just walked out without paying. They obviously dont care if they cant be bothered to take my money. Only two stars because the food is generally good quality.
What’s not to like? For 15 years I’ve always ordered the South Western Egg Rolls, they’re incredible. Parking can be a tad awkward (busy). Good food, great service. Good burgers and tacos. Drinks are decent, deserts and warm and yummy. Good food chain to visit, rarely do I have issues, recommended.
Food is too good! Tried burgers, steaks and Mexican food, everything was great. Cocktails were nice as well. The 4 star is just because of slow service. Had to wait for good enough time just for our drinks. There was only one waitress working on all tables and she was polite and hard working. Maybe its the management that made only one waitress work that made the overall service quite slow.
Ordered take out fajitas, curbside. It would not let me pay or order, so on the plus side the girl that came out and took my order was very friendly. The app did NOT work. I received my fajitas and headed back to where I am staying, stopped in a parking lot 20 minutes away to eat. There were no Tortillas, (isnt that what makes fajitas? Lol) no Utensils, no napkins etc. Luckily, because I am traveling from out of state I had plastic Utensils and papertowels... Anyway, would not ever order from here again. But thanks to the server who took my order in the rain...
Very poor service. Slow for being as empty as it was on a Saturday lunch service. My drink came out 20mins after they took my order. The chips and salsa took close to 40mins to arrive, they must have ground the flour and baked the tortillas fresh and harvested the tomatoes to give us the freshest salsa possible. Took over an hour for a burger. Then when it did come out it was extremely greasy. Other tables had been served who were seated after we were. We were never told the credit card machine was down until we were ready to pay for our check. Glad I had nothing planned for the rest of my day as this severally took longer than it should have for such fast food level quality food.
This was by far the best dining experience weve had in a long time! My wife and I decided to give it a try first timers We get out once a week for date night and its very important to us, with work and kids.Wow! First off our server Caz was top notch very pleasant and attentive well definitely be making it a regular spot! The food took quite awhile but we were given chips and salsa to tide us over, the food was worth the wait!! Delicious!! Well see you next week.
Service today was great. We were seated in Rileys section and she took great care of us. Food was quick, hot, and tasty and the restaurant was well lit and the music was not too loud. All in all a great experience and I cant wait to come back again and be well taken care of for a great deal.
Horrible. Out of soup and was never even told until we were ready to leave. Left hungry. The service is horrible. Half the food we ordered never came out until 15 minutes later and not cooked. Waited for ranch for the salad another 15 minutes. Waited 25 minutes for the check. The server never came to collect the credit card and the table machine didnt work to take payment. We had to go find a manager to take our payment. 11/11/20
Best part of my dining experience was the friendly hostess that helped me in since I am in a cast. After that it went down hill. My daughters drink was served in a dirty glass. Our male waiter became very unfriendly when we were deciding on what we wanted. After my kids ordered I point to my husband since he was ready to order. The waiter left to put in my daughters appetizer. Only to notice him taking an order at another table. He served our food without a smile. Then, wasnt even finished he gave us our check. Waiter was non friendly and wanted us out quickly.
We came here on opening night about two years ago. The service was extremely slow and the food not so good. We returned this week hoping for better, but unfortunately, received not good food. The service was fast, it better when theirs only a few party’s there. It seems their menu is just too big to put out quality food. Would much rather go next door to Red Robin.
Most of the food and service was satisfactory. Two members of our party had to wait an extra 10-15 minutes for their chicken crispers, and when they arrived they were not fully breaded and rather soggy. The staff made it up to us by refunding the money for the two orders and offered to make the dish over, which we declined.
My husband and I went there with our 3year old and had a great experience. All the servers worked great together. The best part of my dinner was, that a server from another table and saw that my daughter was getting restless and offered to walk her around and say hi to other customers so we could get a few bites of our dinner hassle free. Thank you for our great experience. We will be coming back and we will recommend this restaurant to my friends.
My first time coming here with my family was terrible. We had a long wait for drinks and a server took forever to get our order. I tried to get a burger that had bacon, and our server told me they had no bacon, and they also didnt have fried pickles when I tried to order them as a part of an appetizer trio dish. Family came without me and this is the second time they left due to horrible service. Theyll be lucky if we ever step foot into this place again! >:(
Food came out wrong. Medium steak was over well done, chicken quesadillas had pieces with no chicken. After we paid the bill on their machine we noticed on the receipt we were charged for the free chips & salsa as part of being a reward member.Waited almost 45 minutes for food that was not right all around.Will not be going back
Long time for service asked bartender who came over to get us a drink because she saw us waiting unattended to take our food order. We had long wait to go thru menu. Husband burger was ordered no pink but had pink when he got it. Manager apologized appreciated that and took burger off expected that as it wasnt right. Ordered to go but got home and fries were missing.
Food is goodService is goodPlace is cleanBut the 2 for 1 on the drinks needs to stop. The drinks are maybe in a 10 oz mug. Its just a silly novelty to get 2, feeling like there is more. Bring me 1 glass of my drink. 4 people in a booth or at a table and 8 mugs and its overstated and pointless. Stop it. No one cares about 2 small drinks vs 1 large 1. Give the option or something.
Took my sisters there for their birthday, we were seated ASAP which was great. We then however waited over 20 minutes to place our drink orders. One drink was wrong and one completely forgotten. We ordered our appetizers which were great and our meals. After waiting an hour and a half for our meals we asked the waitress what was going on (since we had been sitting there with empty drinks and no acknowledgement from anyone) she said it would be out momentarily . After another 20 someone brought us more chips, then we asked our waitress about our meals. She then mentioned that there was an issue with the ribs I ordered. (At this point Im thinking why didnt you say something before.... like maybe our an hour ago.) So another 20 minutes go by and someone bring our food out. We ask for hot sauce and she said to tell our waitress that ohh ok. So our waitress comes, (who was super kind) and brings the hot sauce but leaves all our empty cups on the table. Annoyed at this point we start our meal that we waited over 2 hours for. The well done burger was pink, almost red, which they fixed and the chicken tasted weird. All in all it was not a great first experience for their 15th Birthday.
We’ve been here over a dozen times and the last two times have been a definite bummer. Tonight we walked in wanting to sit in the bar area. There were 5 empty tables and they were all covered in dishes from previous customers. We ended up sitting at the bar. While at the bar, the tables weren’t cleaned off for over 45 minutes!!! We asked one of the servers if they were short staffed and she said no. There were fruit flies around us, which is a sign of an unclean bar. We ordered chips and guacamole... when our chips arrived we were informed they were out of guacamole. Then we were charged for the guacamole... which we had to point out to the server. It was bad from beginning to end.
Rude staff and uncaring mangers each time we go. Food poisoning 2 of our 3 visits. We like to give multiple chances. Three strikes, Never again. Not paying $30+ to get laughed at by a rude waitress when we ask to speak to the manger. Would advise against visiting - save your wallet and colon a bad experience :(
Neither of us had been there before... The hostess and waitress were super nice. We got our food very quickly since it wasnt very busy in there. But the food itself did not live up to our expectations. Our waitress told us one of the things Chilis is known for is their burgers, so we each got one. They were super greasy and the burger itself had absolutely no flavor at all. So the service was great but the food was super disappointing.
Horrible service. The waitress really said under her breathyou can leave anytime never came back to check on us. Did was nothing to brag about. My mashed potatoes were brown. Atmosphere was the only thing pleasant. The manager and waitress seemed like it was their first night on the job.
A step up for chains around here. Place was packed. Use the Call ahead seating, it works like a charm. Food was fine again for a chain. Staff was pleasant BUT why am I tipping my waitstaff when they want me to do everything through one of those kiosk machines. Sorry dude your tip dropped because I had to order all my own drinks and deserts. Other than that place was great.
Honestly if I could give this “restaurant” no stars I would. The service was terrible we waited 15 minutes for someone to even come over and get our drink orders they weren’t even busy and they even seen us come in and sit down. Then we waited another 30 minutes for them to come over and take our order for our food. And 37 minutes for our food to even be brought to us! The atmosphere was horrible and the waitress gave my fiancé the wrong drink. This was our first time trying them and we can honestly say WE WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE! We where super close to just walking out when she finally decided to come over and do her job. We are not happy at all with our visit. And not to mention the food was TERRIBLE! It was over cooked, the vegetables tasted like they had been sitting out all day and they were soggy. I don’t recommend this “restaurant” at all unless you want to go in and be super disappointed with it. The only thing that we were ok with was the fact it was clean but that doesnt make up for all the bad we faced tonight.
Me and my husband sat in the bar area around 2 still lunch time. We had the best bartender server. He was so professional polite kind very efficient and very at tentative to us. I did not get his name. But he had his hair pulled back. This is why people will come ba k.come back because
My family and i have been to this restaurant several times and this afternoon was not a good experience. Our waitress had a attitude the little bit we did see her ans she never asked if we were reward members i had to let her know we needed the chips and salsa. Then i ordered strawberry lemonade and it was regular lemonade she offered to re due it but at that point it was 15 min after we had sat down, then i ordered bbq wings and the ones i got where hot when waitress came back finally i was mostly through my meal and she fixed my order to the right wings. At that point we were done eating. Then the topper of the meal was the bill the menu says free refills on fountain drink and when the waitress brought out my husbands soda it was in a bottle waitress said that how the root beer came so if your gonna serve that you should let costumers know not free refills but instead we ended up paying over $6,00 for his 2 sodas i was not pleased and when i mentioned to the hostess on way out that i thought it was free refills he got snippy and said i don,t know i,m only a hostess, not a pleasant experience, waitress has no table manners.
Weve been here a few times just for to-go orders when I get a gift card, and its been hit or miss really. Sometimes Ill walk in before the pick up time and my order will be there and others Ill have to wait a couple minutes after the pick up time. Our last visit, however, was terrible. We came in 2 minutes after the pick up time and no one was at the bar, so we waited. After what seemed like 5 minutes a server came over and asked if wed been helped, when I said I was waiting for pickup she went to check then filled a drink order and we didnt see anyone for at least 5 more minutes. In the end we got the food 20 minutes after the pick up time, and when I went to eat some in the car all the entrees were cold! Our sides were hot and tasted fine, but I had a meeting I was late to so I gave my cold entree to my friend.
The worst experience ever. My mother, sister and I came to this Chilis for lunch today and sat and wait for over an hour and never received our food. Three tables came in after us and got there food before us. We didnt order anything major either, while everyone else around us ordered burgers etc. I will give this place one more try, it definitely wasnt the waiters fault something had to have happened in the back with the cooks. And I understand fully that everyone is in training and this place just opened. I was just hoping for better service and faster food.
My husband and I tried Chilis for the first time on Thursday. We were happy to get a table right away and thought we could get in and out quickly. Unfortunately our server took 5 minutes to get to our table. We ordered our drinks, water & beer and waited another 5 minutes for her to come back with my water and tell my husband that the beer he ordered, which was on the menu, was not available & that they never carried it. When we asked for what was on tap she really didnt know & said she would check. We waited another 5 minutes for her to come back & my husband placed his beer order. We sat there another 10 minutes, watching her walk around the restaurant, in & out of the employees only area and never got his beer. We just walked out at that point having never received anything except a glass of water. I understand this is a new crew but having been a waitress myself this service was just awful. Maybe we will try it again in another year or two but not anytime soon!
Ordered a med steak came well done. The replacement was medium rare but took anyway. Because we had already waited for a while for our drinks and the first order. The second took just as long. I will say it was delivered by a manger that was at least done right. I dont recomend chilis and will probably pass next time. The food is good. And the margaritas are always tasty. If you dont mind the wait
If I could give 0 stars I would. Our waitress was awful! Never asked how our food was or if we needed refills for our drinks. I had to look at her until she came over so I could order dessert. When she came over she was rude and mumbled under her breathe as she was leaving!
Tonight was our third visit to this location. Given our experience from each visit, I gave them 5 stars. Quick service each time, we were seated, served, and out the door in about 45 mins, on each visit. The food was what we have come to expect from dining at other Chilis locations. Each time our servers were knowledgeable with the menu, and friendly.Having seen all of the negative reviews we decided to wait a bit until they got the kinks worked out and everything running smooth. We attributed the majority of the complaints were due to it being a new restaurant with new employees, and just needed some time to get things straight. It seems alot of people like to nit pick and complain.
My first visit to this location, but have been to a different one plenty of times. Service was not outstanding . Server rarely checked on us (checked on us to get drinks, bring us drinks and take order, bring us the check and take it after we paid). The chips for the chips and salsa were bland and unsalted. Ordered a side salad that came out with meals not before hand. Different server brought out our food (had to ask him for refill on my soda which had been low for a while). Had to grab our server as he was passing by after taking a different tables order and tell him about a problem with our order. I had ordered the cajun pasta with shrimp, but it came out with chicken. Chose to eat it anyway, and have server adjust bill. The sauce on my pasta was a little dry (alfredo sauce should be creamy) as was the chicken. Server did adjust bill and gave me remake of my meal to go no charge. If opportunity presents itself again I would try this location again and see if I have better experience.
The waitstaff was visibly frustrated. They were not even seating all of the tables because they were short on servers so left people waiting over and hour for a table. Ordered drinks and my daughter didnt get hers. Ordered an appetizer and didnt get that. Female waitress was complaining about her manager and the table she just waited on very loudly to another waiter right next to our table. Food was good even though some was cold and some was hot. There were hostesses just standing around maybe they should have trained less hostesses and more servers.
We were seated right away, Server said Ill be with you asap, We sat there about 5 minutes and with this time frame we looked at mens. Server came to take our drink order, we said sure and were ready to order. Server was running around, only a few in the entire restaurant. Food was pretty good, Service sucked because Management didnt have enough servers. I confirmed this with our server.The sad thing is that it was our FIRST time to Chilis Vestal. Might be my last, not impressed.
Worst meal ever.. Burger dripping with grease. Package full of it and 10 napkins later still covered with it. I can understand with all the covid-19 stuff that things happen. But this is the second time we had bad food. We will nott be returning. Please fix your procedures! This was a waste of our hard earned money.. We want a refund..
Ordered food tonight through door dash. Nothing bad to say about door dash because my dasher has delivered my food before and she was more than friendly and prompt. Cant say the same for chilis. I ordered a mix and match fajitas. I ordered steak and shrimp. Not only was my steak burnt to the point I could taste the char on it but my veggies (green peppers and onions) were not fully cooked. On top of that Im pretty sure my flour tortillas were old because I could barely bite through them they were so rubbery. Not happy at all with this order. Wont order again if this is the product Ill receive for my money spent
My husband and I had a great time at Chilis last friday night. Our waiter, Mike, was great and made sure everything was to our liking and even though he was obviously really busy, he stopped by our table regularly to see if we needed anything. I really enjoyed the visit there. The food was great! Loved the chips and salsa a lot!
Very unclean property. The bottoms of the chairs are caked with dirt and filth my table was not cleaned before i Sat down. The waitress was nice and helpful. The appetizer of chips and salsa was amazing and the food was good. But unappealing for a place to sit and eat
I am still waiting on my order as I am writing this review. I have to give one star at least to write a review hence they have one star. If it was up to me, I would not give any star at all. Their service is -100 out of 10. They cant seem to serve a large group and keep blaming on their store being new. I have been to Chilis down in Florida so many time and their service was more than great. But seem to me that this franchise owner cant put his managers, chefs and servers in order and I can see this restaurant going out of business soon. We have been here since 6:30 pm and it is 9:00 pm and I still am waiting on my food. I will not come back or will recommend this store.
I like Chilis. Im glad they came to the area. The service is usually pretty good, but for me, it takes some seriously bad service to ruin an experience at a restaurant. Much more importantly the food has been top notch every time Ive gone. I appreciate that they have vegetarian and vegan options that arent just salads, and my wife will tell you they have the best steak in the area. Would recommend this Chilis to everyone.
Went there today with my 2 boys and we sat waiting for 15 mins for the waitress to even talk to us. After waiting she finally came. I didnt say a word about how long it took. She takes our drink order. I thought it was going to get better. Oh boy i was wrong... 10 mins pass and no drinks. I called her over she was mumbling so i asked her to speak up and she started yelling at me. That waitress knows nothing of my past and yelled me cause i couldnt hear her....
Normally we enjoy eating here but last night was terrible! My 6 year old ordered chicken bite sandwiches & what he got was chunks of chicken dumped on a plate. I ordered soup & salad & got soup that was like wallpaper paste that was probably left over from lunch time as we were there around 5:15pm. The best part of our visit was our waitress Abby. She was very attentive & kind. Sorry to say this experience has made me question the quality here.
Great servers and bartenders looks like a great place to have a party my server turbo or some such name was phenomenal would definitely recommend for birthday parties such a fun place. Although I could say is when who I would assume is the cooks or dish staff would walk through they looked beat. Definitely would give the back of the house some raises.
Was seated, we waited 10 minutes for a server to take our order and no one came. We got up and left..........terrible, terrible service. This was 3:00 in the afternoon on a Monday. Dont know who the manager is, but they need to re-train their employees. We have eaten at the Chilis in Ithaca many times and always had excellent service.
I love Chillis! My first experience was back on February 19, 2017. I was on crutches at the time and they were very accommodating. I have been there a few times, and have nothing bad to really say. Food has always been amazing.We went there last night, and even though there was no wait, you could tell they had a lot going on. Our Waitress, Mckayla, was AMAZING 🙌 We didnt need much from her, but was there when we did. We witnessed an incident where a baby pooed everywhere! The waitress that was taking care of this table went ABOVE and BEYOND her job duties. She got them anything and everything they needed to clean up the mess! Did she have to? NO! I just wanted to take a moment and recognize her for her job well done! I did not get her name but it was last night 10.6.18 around 8-9 PM.We got desert last night. Forgive me if these arent the right names. We got one Sizzling Chocolate Chip Cookie, Paradise..something, and Cheesecake. Everything was good, except the cheesecake. It was still very frozen. But I didnt want to make a scene, since they were dealing with so much, and the lights kept going out. So, I just asked for a box, brought it home, and ate it today after lunch. Still really GOOD! 😉
Horrible experience , our waitress was rude and clueless , she seated us somewhere it was dirty and when we asked if we could sit somewhere else she said “no” , every-time i come here it’s a problem , there’s always hair in the food & horrible costumer service . DO NOT RECOMMEND (the same waitress didn’t have a mask on even though it’s a policy to wear one?)
5/28/17 Update:I went to Chilis again today, and was fortunate to be served by Cecilia B. Shes the best server that Ive EVER had - she was super attentive, thoughtful, efficient, and friendly.I think she was a little psychic too, because she knew exactly what we needed before we had to ask for them (napkins, drink refills, etc). I had previously rated Vestal Chilis 4 stars, but I HAD to change it to 5 stars after todays amazing experience and service.Thanks, Cecilia!-------------previous review --------------Ive been to this Chilis several times since its opening in 2017, and each time Ive experienced very attentive and kind service. I witnessed the servers being very happy to explain and recommend entrees to other patrons, and theyre always in a good mood whenever Im there.Its Chilis - and my rating reflects expectations for food when going to a chain restaurant such as Chilis/Applebees/TGIF/Ruby/Etc. Compared to such restaurants, the food is what youd anticipate.I love getting the fresh guacamole as an appetizer there. its a good value around $4-5 and you get a basket of chips with salsa and guacamole.Youll find that a lot of the other reviews complain about long wait times and poor service - that was indeed the case when they opened in February 2017, but its no longer a problem.Im happy with the portion size, service, taste, and ambiance to come back repeatedly.
We have been here 3 times since they have opens and between the 2nd time and 3rd we waited a few months. Hoping that the quality and service would become better over time we returned last week to only be just as disappointed as we were the 1st and 2nd time period the 1st time we while we were there for more than 2 and a 1/2 hours due to the fact that they had been open about 3 weeks, our server let us sit there without drinks or even taking a drink order for 25 minutes. Finally we got our drink order taken after nearly a 1/2 hour for the drinks to take more than a 1/2 hour to reach the table. The restaurant was not very busy But did have quite a few tables so there was no reason for the wait. The worst part however was that our food we waited an hour and a 1/2 for was literally cold as ice. Not just cold but our rice was hard as if it were never cooked. We absolutely love chilies at other locations but sadly this one has not wowed us at all!
I want to really like this place but last two times I have dined here it took almost ten minutes to be waited on. Luckily my patience is high. Food is usually good. My only gripe thus far is the fried chicken is too heavily battered to the point you eat more crust than chicken.
Tried to go there Sunday afternoon around 2:30, party of 6. Hostess said 15 minutes. Can we wait in the bar? No, Im not supposed to let anyone in there. It is too busy. Well, not a soul to be seen. However, every table was full of dirty glasses and plates. No one at the bar either. Also, empty booths in the dining area. She never did try to accommodate us, so we left. Probably will not return to a place that does not welcome us.
Had lunch today with some great people. The service was on target and timely. The three managers we had the pleasure of meeting were professional and knowledgeable also nice people. The food was good but not great remember it is only day 4.Will be back to Chili Vestal
Food - 5*, but I have given a 2 star for one of the aspects of this restaurant.Of course their food and their service has always been amazing at all their outlets I have been to!!Okay so I visited this chili’s outlet for the 2nd time, there’s this entertainment thingy on the table. I did touch it and browse through it during my first visit as well as I was curious to know what’s in it, nothing was wrong back then. But during my second visit, I did the same this time as well, but in our bill there was this $2 entertainment bill!!! If there is something of that sort I believe it has to be clearly mentioned on the machine first, random browsing through a machine shouldn’t cost us money!!If this repeats the next time I would talk to the manager and never head back to this place again!
Dont order takeout from this location. You will be disappointed in so many ways. For example, they are now 4/4 for not including salad dressing with a salad entree. These issues have been addressed every time on the feedback survey, yet continue to persist over the span of 2 years. Youve been warned.
Worst experience ever. Walked in, place was not busy at all. We asked for a booth and were told, I am not sure we have one. After we were seated, the server arrived to state, We dont have iced tea, lemonade, or regular coffee. Then he went on to say but you can get a flavored iced tea. We both ordered a flavored iced tea, he left and then came back saying Oh, we dont have any iced tea, I forgot. Server came back to take order and we asked what was in something to which he responded Beef, and other stuff. Worst experience ever.
Really bad. Ordered the chicken and ribs combo. Took forever to come out. Like 45 mins. When it did, the chicken was under cooker. They said the would re cook it. So I waited another 20 mins, and when It came, it was also under cooked. The wanted to take 5 dollars off my meal. I told them I wanted to be charge for the ribs and fries dinner, instead of the ribs and chicken combo. She wouldnt do it. So had to get a manager who did finally change the bill. The place is large with no divider per table. So the place sounds like a high school cafeteria. Also someone had a screaming toddler inside so we had to hear that for most of our time there. Horrible. Also over priced for the quality of food and the way the place is set up. Will never go back here or to any chills ever for that matter. Totally unimpressed.
Drinks had a musty smell and taste. Salad was wilted and inedible we had it sent back and did not reorder another entree due to loss of appetite. A portion of a separate chicken dish was inedible due to some type of tough ligament in the chicken i had to spit out. The manager was supposed to come over and discuss the disgusting salad dish but never came over. We were very put off by this, apparently customer satisfaction and quality of food is not a priority at chilis. After our experience I am highly certain i will not return. Never before have i had such a poor experience at a restauraunt!
Had a terrible experience there a year ago but decided to give Chili’s another shot. Should have stuck to my guns and stayed away. While the service has improved substantially, two hours after eating my wife was throwing it all back up. She was fine before eating there. We has tickets to see the Beach Boys that night and had to give the tickets away.
The server didnt know what she was doing, had no clue how to talk to people. She said like about 10 times. Never took any dirty dishes off our table. Another server was texting right in front of everyone on the floor. Our 1st course took about 10mins to come out(house salad and chips). Followed by our 2nd course which came out about 90 secends later. I got a burger it was cooked close to the way I order it(med). The meat had good seasoning. Overall I was happy with it. However my girlfriends salad wasnt as good. For 12 dollars it hardly had any lettuce and overall was very small.
The food here is soooooo good my wife and I used to drive all the way to Ithaca just to go to Chilis before this one was built close to us. Now its on our regular weekly date night rotation of solid dependable places to eat. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the place is always pristine when weve been here.
Meh. Food is average. Special requests are not met and servers are not available to be told when something is not correct. What is it with servers not making sure there are place settings on the table BEFORE the food arrives? This happens to us all the time anymore. Then in the case of Chilis my husband had to go get it because it was taking so long and our food was getting cold.
When the Chili’s in vestal Ny first opened we went a few times and had a nice experience. Went back recently and had the worst dining experience I have ever had. Waiter Rick was very mean and nasty. Food did not come any sauses which were listed on the menu. When asked for more sauces Rick never brought them. Asked him again and he said “Well what sauces do you want!?” I said “The sauses it comes with.” He then said well no sauces comes with it.” Then showed him the picture on the menu and he then stated “its on it it doesn’t come with a side of it.” Let me tell you I know for a fact the chicken quesadillas come with the sour cream and ranch on the side. I let it go because obviously he was not going to bring us any. He got really agitated when asking him for refills and all the basics you would need when at a restaurant. Rick must have known he gave such poor service because he took the little kiosk on the end of the table (assuming so we could not rate him.) Since our service inside was so bad we tried to order online and get the curbside. Which was just as bad. The lady who brought us our food was very frazzled. She forgot some things and we had to go back. She did not apologize but acted like we were bothering her. Some of the food containers had food all over the sides leaking out and the gallon of tea we ordered (which was the wrong flavor) was leaking all over and she did not have the curtesy to wipe it off before handing it to me and getting tea all over my clothing and car. I will never return to Chili’s again. This chilis really needs either a better management team and to reconsider some of their hires. Really such a shame because the quesadillas are so good!
It took us an hour and a half for us to order and receive our food it was not busy at all.I didnt like the barbeque sauce on the ribs I got the half of rack of ribs and only thing i got was the ribs and a small bowl of mashed potatoes. Husband got the 3 deal and he got enough food to feed 3 people and his cost $4.00 more crazy but I know next time of there is another.
Came with a party of 11, manager gave us grief immediately. Let him know hes making it hard to want to come back here and he then argued about splitting up the checks. Steer clear. UPDATE. They did reach out and offer a Gift card for this visit, the next visit was much better. moved to 3 stars.
Had lunch here yesterday on mothers day withy son. We will not be returning. My bowl of chilli was microwaved and still cold in the middle and my sons $20 rack of ribs was nothing but fat. Waitress did not seem to care nor ask if everything was okay. I have always enjoyed Chilis in Syracuse, but I will not return to the vestal location.
I dont usually post reviews but the service and food was so bad I felt I had to warn others. The only reason I am giving them 1 star is because I cant leave a review without giving them 1 star, but I do not believe they deserve it. This place was so much better in the past but now I wouldnt recommend to anybody. I am embarrassed I took my wife here after telling her I would take her out for a good meal.
Please understand, this location has not been opened for a month yet. Staff is still training, plus new staff has a high turnover rate. Due to the fact its a new restaurant and everyone wants to try it out. Long wait times and mistakes are guaranteed to happen. If you are someone who expects perfect experience only a month after opening, I recommend you wait for at least 6 months before trying this restaurant, and especially before giving a negative review.
Food was excellent. Service was fine until the end. Trird to use my Plenti card for points. No one knew how to use it. Then had$ 25.00 gift card that not one of the hosts knew how to use as it wouldnt go through the table computer. Took almost 10 minutes for someone to find our waiter. Another 5 minutes for waiter to come back to tell us he had to find his manager (instead of just finding him and fixing it). Another ten minutes passed before we finally got bill done right and i still do know if my Plenti points were added after all of this. Btw when we walked in the restaurant was not busy at all. It did pick up a little but not that busy for all this wait! I would line a response to not only the time issue but why I had 3 differrent associates yell me they dont know how to work the Plenti Points! One was busing tables(only that may not know but should be cross trained), a waitress and front person at door. Againfood was excellent BUT as a vegetarian was not happy nothing on main menu, only on computer screen! It is like we are second or third class citizens!!! Well hope to hear from your company soon! Originally thinking on giving Chilis another try, but after seeing the terrible ratings is why... Im not. This service Im reading about is the same terrible service my wife and I had in Syracuse. Just horrible, so either they shipped those servers and cooks to Vestal or thats the normal way they operate. Just hate to waste a dinner in a restraunt, that cant get it together. There are better places to go with excellent service.
Server didnt acknowledge us, finally asked for our drink order after 7 min, when he brought the drinks he practically slammed them on the table and said he would be right back to take our order. Just when I was getting ready to walk out, he asked for our supper order. My 7yr old grandson said something about us leaving because he took so long. I told my grandson to go ahead and order when the waiter said, are you going to order or not? In a very sarcastic tone. I said, you didnt just say that to him and the waiter said yes, I did. I said give me my check, were leaving. He said its on me. I told him hes a jerk. Then told the hostess on my way out. She said she would get the manager and I told her never mind, Ill NEVER come here again.
Service was awful. Food was okay, nothing spectacular. If you dont like black beans, avocados and cilantro, your choices are very limited. I got sliders and the only thing I could taste was the overpowering bacon. My husband got enchiladas. He said they were overly salted. Wont be back.
Bad news bears. (1) Ignored at the bar for a drink for (im not exaggerating) 20 minutes. Decided to just get a table instead. (2) ordered a Boston Lager DRAGHT, received a bottle which I did not want (3) my friend ordered a mixed drink, and the drink was half empty when he received it (did they spill some?), (4) my friends drink had an orange slice in it...with the sticker on the orange still on it, (5) ordered a combo of chicken and ribs with fries, received a full rack of ribs and broccoli. Obviously not what I ordered, (6) 3 out of the 4 tables near us asked to speak to the manager due to poor service or food. (7) had to order a soda twice. Bad experience, will not be returning.
Front of house staff was akward. Local resident for a long time and decided to try this Chilis for the first time. Took about 10 minutes before anyone came over to ask for drinks at the least. What with the restaurants in this plaza having terrible management? Employees need to be on top of things.
Poor service, manager was sitting at bar drinking🍸. It was no host it took the manager 5mins to notice we walked in, meanwhile the places was almost empty so it shouldnt have any issue with seating us right away. The manager was extremely rude i believed his name is Hakeem. The table he sat us at were dirty remind you i said the place was almost empty so the tables should have been cleaned and clear of dirt and glasses from previous guest. They were out of several things including limes, lemons, and cheese cake. The waitress was nice even said at the end of the visit said she told Mr. Hakeem he should go to grocery store and get lemons and limes from grocery store which is in the same plaza but he declined. I definitely dont recommend this place.7months later i was attacked by Hakeem at a local movie theatre because of this review. Everyone please be very careful on writting reviews about Vestal NY Chilli because the manger Hakeem will remember and try to attack you. I did contact corporate was promised a free movie ticket for my trouble. Just be careful Hakeem is very hot tempered and unprofessional.
We just went to chills to get a table for lunch for 6 people. The girl said we had to wait, so we ask if we could sit by the bar, she said no. There were many dirty unoccupied tables. So we decided to leave spend our money else where. This is what happens when you go to a chain restaurants. Thanks chills!
Had a horrible take out experience. Called and complained to a manager and was promised a refund to make it right and of course I never received a refund on my card. This Vestal location is by far the worst Chilis I have ever been to. Will Not go back. Horrible service, giving the wrong food, and lying to your customers will not get you repeat business.
We absolutely LOVE this location in Vestal,NY. The staff is Knowledgable and Friendly! They always remember us and our food is always TOP NOTCH. We live the pickles. Hakim always checks on us and we always ask for Jana!!! We definately continue to come back!!!!! ~Jeff & Adam
Went there for the first time. Food was ok and service was a little slow but what made me decide to never go back was after dinner while using the mens room one of the employees came out of the stall and went back to work without even washing his hands. Not only disgusting but also illegal.
This chilis is absolutely wonderful! Each time I go in the staff is incredibly friendly and always checking up on me to make sure Im doing good! Food is always excellent and well made. Always have a great time when I visit here would always recommend coming to this chilis!! 😊
This was the worst place ever. My chicken and chili both didnt come. All of my familys food was cold and at least missing so thing.We arrived at 5:30 and letft at 8:45( We left directly after we ate). Overall this was a terrible expirence and I wouldnt recommend it at all.👎🏻Chilis=💩💩💩
I was very skeptical about chilis and it Went beyond my standards I am Germaphobic and at most restaurants I need to wipe my silverware off not here the bartender/server we had was amazing she was so friendly and funny and made the experience so much better. If you go to chilis in vestal maddie is the best!! Food was great service was great I will definitely go back anytime

2022-06-07Last time we were in Chili’s was 2 years ago and the service was so bad we haven’t been back since. Decided to give them a try tonight and do takeout. What a joke.Since when is three rib bones a half rack of ribs? Doesn’t really matter though because they were so dry and tasteless, I threw two of them out. We ordered cheese bites for our daughter and got fried pickles instead. The coleslaw was in one of those tiny foam containers and it was about one third full. The 4 dollar salad add-on was 2 cucumber slices, 2 croutons, some cheese and barely visible tomatoes. The chicken fingers were so tiny and greasy, they looked like little greasy witch fingers. I would have laughed had I not been so mad with the whole meal.I called to speak to someone and was told by a very polite young lady, who apologized, that she would get a manager. After waiting on hold for 7 minutes, a much snarkier person picked up and when I told her I was still waiting for a manager, she told me they were too busy and the manager would call me back in 10 minutes. That was more than an hour ago. Now I have to call customer service to get a refund for the cheese bites I never got. With so many better options in the area, I will not be going back.Update: I never did get a call back from the manager. Not shocked. This place is run terribly.

2021-09-21Went here for the first time today for lunch today with my Fiancé and everything was fantastic. I have ONE tiny tiny complaint which I kept to myself and that would be, my burger was a bit on the greasy side. But not worth a complaint to the workers at all. Their chips are SO GOOD, they even gave us a bag to go for no charge because I loved them so much. Our server Allison was friendly, super fast, and overall wonderful. We will come again soon!!!

2022-05-15Came here for Mothers Day. It was a wonderful experience. The waitress was so kind and attentive it blew us away. I cant say enough our food was delicious for everyone dining with us. Thank you so much Chilis for making Mothers Day a remarkable day! My wife loves the food and my kids cant get enough of the chicken tenders and pizza!

2021-08-01Delivery thru grub hub. My bbq sauce was spilled in the bag, the food was cold, items were missing 🤦🏿♂️😡. Dinner was kinda frustrating 😫. They issued a full refund. Cant chance it again for delivery.

2022-02-03Do not eat at Chilis Grill & Bar in vestal. We went last night, and the service was awful as well as the food. They have broken equipment that has not been fixed in months. I would ask for something and was told the machine was broken or they dont serve it anymore, but it would still be on the menu. The best part is my food that I ordered had no flavor and was like rubber and when I told the waitress, she went to tell the manager and I was only offered a small discount for the inconvenience and not once did the manager come talk to me. Around 8:30 p.m., my stomach started to hurt (we ate at 6:30 p.m.) and come 11 p.m. I was in the bathroom, puking up the awful dinner I was forced to pay almost full price for. It used to be a good place to eat at but they have gone way down.Little side note if you are paying on the tablet, pay attention to the tip amount the 20% tip button was around $4 higher than what it should be.

2022-06-27I have visited Chili’s on a couple of occasions over the last year. Unfortunately each time was a similar experience, which was that the staff was sorely lacking and therefore those that were there were working very hard to cover too much ground. Service was slow and inaccurate. The staff was frantically rushing around and constantly apologizing (as though it was their fault). There were 15-20 tables that were dirty and covered with plates that had not been bussed after the last party, and remained so for as long as I was there (almost 2 hours for a burger and fries).
