The food is good and the portion is big given the price.
I got shrimp w mixed vegetables. All I got was brocolli and it was so overcooked an soggy. The brown sauce was horrible. I wont go back again.I was very disappointed. I used to go every week, something changed.
Did not call ahead, ordered when I arrived. Only took about 15 minutes to make my order and they were pretty busy. Food was really good, I got the Scallops and Beef, and it was not all vegetables like some places, there was actually a good amount of scallops and beef in the dish. The fried dumplings could have been a bit crispier, but they were huge and very tasty.

Their ingredients are always FRESH! I work in the same plaza where they are located and I see them bringing in fresh produce every day. I see them rolling fresh dough to make their wontons every day. I have tried most items on their menu and EVERYTHING is yummy. I have been ordering food from this restaurant over the past 15 years, and it seems the quality remains high. Thank you, China Chen team!
Ive gone to SOOO many Chinese places for food and this one is the cleanest and the best. It tastes better than the two in north Syracuse. It tastes better than the one in Bridgeport and way better than dragon city in Syracuse. And the guy who cleans their fryers said they have the cleanest ones out of all of the ones he cleans so that should say something. Theyre fast. And I love it. The girl in the front can be 15 orders deep and still get your food out quick. The Chen family is a+ 5 stars.
Very poor customer service. They gave me the wrong order. I called to let them know and they said bring back the chicken fried rice and they will give me my chicken/broccoli. It will be ready in 15min. I arrived there and it was not ready. The guy told me it was going to be ready in a minute, 5 min went by still not ready. I told them I wanted my money back. Once again he says it will be ready one minute. Another few minutes went by and I just said I just want my refund. By the. It was a half hour. My family was already done eating at home. No apologies from them what so ever. Very bad costumer service, plus my husband meal had only few piece of beef in it.
Awesome Kung Pow! Door dash delivery has me hooked. My new favorite place for Chinese. The service was friendly, the food was fast and hot and I the Kung Pow was the best I think Ive had ever. Highly reocmmended.
How do I even begin the review of this restaurant? The first mistake was ordering through Door Dash. The order was over an hour late, but showed the order had been picked up. I called China Chen to see if the order had, in fact, been picked up. It was indeed still sitting there and whoever I spoke to demanded I come pick it up. I let her know we had ordered through their delivery service, Door Dash, but was again told I needed to come get it. I let her know again, POLITELY, that we had ordered through the Door Dash website and was calling to inquire about whether or not it had been picked up. She told me to never call her again and promptly hung up. Needless to say we will NEVER order from or visit China Chen or Door Dash again. The food was as cold as the customer service and just as watered down.
Dont bother calling ahead... they dont make your order until you arrive. If you are in a rush, go somewhere else or make it clear you want you food ready when you arrive.The food here is more or less standard as found in all the take-out Chinese restaurants in the USA... perhaps a little lower than standard, but really not bad. What I really dont like about this place is that they dont make the order that you called in 15 minutes ago until you arrive. My feeling is that they were stiffed by too many people not showing up, so they dont make your order until you arrive.This happened 4-5 times over the previous 2 years, and I dismissed it because perhaps they were busy. Well, on this day, they had not busy, and when I arrived 5 minutes after they said the order would be ready, they hadnt even started it. Their excuse was We want it to be fresh. I went thru the whole Jerry Seinfeld routine that you are good at taking the orders... but you are not good at making the orders.So, if you are in a rush, tell them that you want the order ready when you get there, or you will just leave if it is not ready. I made this clear to them, and the cashier finally said, in very good English... OK, I get it.
I wanted the large chicken wings, but they were all out...got my stand by the boneless spare rib. Loved it as always. It was the last one they had though. Not sure why but thier inventory on many things were low or out. Hopefully they stocked up since.
Hands down one of the best local Chinese take out places we have in Central New York. Huge fan of their pork egg rolls, their beef & broc, the chicken & broc is also solid - and be sure to leave room for either the sesame chicken or moo-shop pork. Wish I could give this place 6 stars.
Food is always delicious. Friendly service. Wont eat chinese from anywhere else. Lemon chicken is amazing and beat sesame chicken Ive found anywhere.
Suggest ordering in advance give time for pickup cant go wrong. All meals are great, and plenty for another meal.

The BEST place to get your egg noodles fix in the Bay Area! I highly recommend getting the Banh Bot Chien (Fried Flour Cake w/ Egg) as the appetizer! It has a soft, chewy consistency with a crispy outer layer and it pairs well with the dipping sauce for a great texture with every bite!You cant go wrong with any the egg noodle dishes!We got the #20 The Mi Sui Cao (Shrimp wonton Egg Noodle)I wanted to try a non-soup egg noodle dish & I ordered the #50 Mi Xao Bo Say Te Cay (Stir fried slate beef thin egg noodles - spicy). Its super tasty and the noodle textures are BOMB!!If you are not in for the mood for their egg noodles then get the House Fried Rice which is filled with great flavors & textures.

2022-02-21I love this restaurant and there food there steamed dumplings and the sauce are on point! I just ordered Hunan beef which comes with pork fried rice and an egg roll everything is great but the hunamn pork is NOT hot which I love i like it hot , hot , hot! But other than that very good!

2021-12-26Our of this world classic American Chinese take out!! This place is my go to! Everything is always hot, fresh, quick and I love love LOVE seeing the kids there helping out the family.. Theyre all so friendly and welcoming as well My parents had one that I grew up in and now I have one no kids though. So I enjoy the memories when I see them. There 😁My Christmas order took ten minutes cant say enough great things about them

Travel by car every year! Every year, they come to the restaurant to order their favorite food. Last year was a special year. I didnt see each other. But Im really happy to see you again this year. Look forward to seeing you again.🌟😮💨！I met a guest today! Very speechless! She made two phone calls before and after ordering. The first call ordered a piece of chicken with boiled vegetables and two spring rolls. He called again and said that there were two chicken slices with boiled vegetables. ok Then I told the cook to change the menu. One more. Then when the guest comes to pick up the meal. We reconfirmed her order. One or two. She told me with great certainty that she only ordered one. Er, we asked her that she had just called twice and said it was two copies. She answered me very definitely: No. I didnt order two. After finalizing her order! We wrapped her a piece of boiled vegetables, chicken slices and spring rolls. She paid the bill. We thought it was over. I didnt expect any follow-up. Alas. When the guest came home, he called to complain. Said she ordered two... Then start swearing... All kinds of unfriendly words. We want to explain that the lady doesnt listen at all. Finally, we give the solution of refund. Tell her she can refund and need her to give us her card number to pay for the meal. We will return the card. She gave me a different card number. We cant accept different card numbers. She was very angry and began to curse. Then we told her we could refund her cash. She doesnt accept... She has always stressed that she must refund to her card when using apple pay. But they dont give us the correct bank card number. The curse never stopped. The most difficult to reach consensus. We dont want to hear her continue to curse and hang up the phone for the end 🔚。 The service industry is so difficult

2021-07-29DEAD FLIES IN MY FOOD. I got cursed out by one of the employees as i was coming out of the store, he was following me in the parking lot while i was driving in my car..he spit at my car and continued to yell at me. And then when I got home, I found DEAD FLIES IN MY FOOD!!!! I’m never eating here again!!!

2021-05-11China Chen has pretty standard food. Its the typical cookie-cutter fare youre going to find at any Chinese Food spot. The staff seem pleasant. Food is prepared quickly (10 minutes). Its a bit of a longer drive than the two other places in my area of North Syracuse, but the quality is worth it.

2020-10-13Not sure of what to have for supper, I suggested chinese food. We ordered the sesame chicken combo, got 2 extra rolls and veg fried rice, it made for a nice meal. Thats what we usually get from China Chen, and weve always been pleased with it. They do a great job, it always tastes great. Highly recommend this place.
