Good food for kosher but if you are not observant I recommend going somewhere elseIt seems with establishments that are strict like this eventually have snags in the cuisine that stem from trying to be strictly kosherFrozen broccoli is a prime example of something that is a must in a strict eatery but is grossYou can be sure there is way more happening when forced to use certain foods in a way that is not in line with great cuisineI’m not anti kosher I’m anti bad food and the trade off in the area always seem to be you get to enjoy rabbinical supervision but only when you are purchasing sub par food for your establishment. Taste is not negotiable but Hashem should be no ?
Ive been going here essentially since I was born. The food is always amazing and delicious. The staff is always friendly and happy to see you. The price is reasonable and worth it. And with covid restrictions now they run a tight ship where no one is waiting around, but you will need a reservation now. Its always a pleasure to eat there.
We were a party of 18. My wife and another person both ordered the Steamed Sea Bass which was spoiled. The food was not edible. Management would do nothing about it. They refused to refund or substitute the 2 dinners. Arrogant and rude. We paid our bill. the party was spoiled. They were disgusting.
Well run and tasty, with consistently fresh food. I don’t think they’ve gotten my order wrong once in ten years. Overall the menu is standard American-style chinese food, but they execute it well every time. The establishment was always very clean even before COVID, and they are now taking mask and cleanliness protocols seriously. Lovely interior dining spaces. Not cheap.
Best chinese food in the five towns. We could stop here and that would be a good summery, but your here, Im here....lets get into it a bit. They have been around a very long time, they have always prided themselves on amazing food and better service.Their service is closer to a fancy steakhouse.I could talk about a lot of the dishes and how all their chicken is always soft and never overcooked but instead, lets just talk about their dumplings.Their dumplings are amazing, light and plump, and when you ask them to fry it on both sides they do and it still tastes delicious and soft... They are unfortunately the only ones in a many mile radius that do dumplings correctly. The owners are classy people and always looking out for the local community, very amazing place.Nuf said, I have to order some dumplings right now.
I attended a party at the Restaurant. It was really nice! They have a large party room with ample space for a large group. They offered to choose from a list of appetizers and main dishes. I tried a number different dishes and they were all very very good. The portions are also pretty large so you will not go home hungry.
Service is below average. Meat taste like freezer. Fusion setup is discutable, you don’t serve Japanese food in a Chinese restaurant, stick to one cuisine, you’ll do better. Soups are tasteless. The kind of quality served at this restaurant is the type you get off a deli food cart. Avoid if you want service and quality. To the owners, change your staff and your “chef”.
I had to give it a star to be able to post this. I have eaten there a few times and it was ok to good. We took out four cooked dishes. I had two different dishes than my husband. I got so sick with Food poisoning. I was never so sick with Food poisoning. It had been a night no one should ever experience. I almost went to the hospital.
Great food at reasonable prices. They specialize in Chinese but also have an extensive Japanese and Sushi menu. I cant recommend anything in particular because everything that I tried is very good. They have a Prix Fix meal which is a good value. They were not crowded on the weeknight when I went but I would recommend making reservations if you go on a Sunday.
This place deserves half a star just because the service is that bad. It all begins right when you walk through the doors there is a lady in the front (the manager or a hostess) she is terrible unfriendly, not professional and has an attitude. I go to Cho-Sen island on a Bi-weekly basis and I will no more just because she was utmost disrespectful and extremely rude - past experiences I never encountered her and it was a fine place that’s why I came often ,but after today no more. The food there is good which is the only reason people should get Takeout from there. I went to great neck Cho-Sen Village and I am extremely pleased there..nicer atmosphere, better food and %100 better service. I also went to Cho-Sen garden in queens and also enjoyed friendly warm environment with great food. I will drive the extra half an hour to go to the queens or the great neck Cho-Sen just to avoid this woman at the front.
I came to this restaurant on a Thursday evening around 9:14pm with my family . The lady who checks in the coats tells me that they are closing at 10pm I asked her if I should leave and she says yes . For a moment I was shook .. she then asks me if we will be done eating by 10pm ..then she says you guys have 35 minutes to finish eating .For such a nice place that seems decent it wouldnt hurt to have a little better of a customer service!
They have good Sesame Chicken (when you look at it, it looks like theres hot sauce on it which got me scared that it wouldnt taste good but it tastes just like Wok Tovs Sesame Chicken. I guess dont judge food by the looks of it.). They have comfortable chairs, fancy tables. I wish I would have known that the Won Ton soup tastes just like regular chicken soup (I wish I would have picked Egg Drop). I love their crackers at the beginning. I didnt really like their cake though.
There arent enough words for me to write. The food is fanaminal and tastes amazing. The table service is perfect. The restaurant is clean and spacious. Offers a wide variety of Chinese choices including sushi. Located centrally in five towns. Meatered parking. Really good option. Great top notch restaurant.👍👍👍👍👍
Excellent pupu platter - highly recommended! Honestly couldnt eat anything more than that and maybe a soup though cuz its just huge, but I guess thats a good thing. It had like six different options with one of each, different types of dumplings and Moroccan cigars, very fun actually cuz it comes with an open flame. Made for an interesting dinner! Plenty of metered parking right nearby just off Central Avenue. Good wait staff and nice dining area too.
Although I am not Jewish this place is a top spot for me to go out to dinner with my friends who observe kosher laws.Apparently their kosher certificate satisfies those who have strict kosher demandsYou will find food here on par with upscale neighborhood Asian restaurants, but be prepared to spend a few dollars more
Hands down some of the best Chinese food Ive ever eaten...and Ive worked near Chinatown in NYC and have dined at most upscale places in midtown. Dont judge a book by its cover. General Tsos chicken was the best Ive ever had. Light, crispy edges, sweet and all chicken, if youre wondering about the chicken to breadding ratio ;) Decor is a bit dated and you better make reservations if youre not dining alone.
The Egg rolls are bursting with freshness and delicious flavor. The Pizza (Scallion Pancake/Toast) is the best ever. The Egg Drop Soup with Wontons is rich and flavorful. The Hot and Sour Soup is the perfect balance you are always seeking. The orange Beef is an aromatic, crispy, mouth watering, delectable treat of an entree. Mmm...
Service was on point even though it was super busy, waiters were friendly and helpful, but who are we kidding ur here for food review and here it is AMAZING just amazing Chinese food Ive had most kosher Chinese in ny and this place takes 1st, I had lo mein and spicy crispy beef while admittedly not spicy but incredibly flavorful my wife had chow mein-surprisingly delightful also sushi was uber fresh and authentic

2022-03-31I have not been here in slightly over a year. I have been eating here for decades. To say it was disappointing is an understatement. The menu was anemic. 2 laminated pages held by a metal ring. Really? We asked for noodles and did not receive any for the table. We ordered from the price fixe. They had only one flavor of iced tea in a bottle. What? The soup was okay not great. The bowls seemed smaller or maybe it was just the portion. For main course I ordered General Tsos chicken. I expected to receive fried chicken pieces and a brown sauce with some vegetables and rice instead what I got was the equivalent of boneless buffalo wings in a red sauce that tasted like Franks red hot. I asked for mild and the plate was swimming in a red sauce and red pepper flakes. The staff seemed a little bit almost annoyed waiting on us. Honestly I would save my money and do take out from somewhere else and eat at home as it just isnt worth it anymore. I dont know what happened but this is not the same restaurant Ive been going to all these years and I can honestly say I dont plan on going back anytime in the near future unless something miraculously changes. Save your money and go to a better restaurant!

2022-04-28I have a good time and employees were all very nice. However someone came in next to our table wanting to use their own wine which is absolutely crazy (especially with kosher laws that the restaurant fallows) and at no fault of the restaurant, these people were clearly wrong, but obviously a flight there with the staff cant for me its not five stars but obviously you can make your own judgment

2021-04-20Great kosher Chinese food experience. Large room, accommodations were made for our group (high chair for kids.) Food was fresh, didnt have a long wait time. Friendly staff. Will visit again.

2022-05-23The food is above and beyond excellent, the ambiance is great, and the staff are fantastic. Whether its for a I-dont-feel-like-cooking dinner, or if its for a special occasion, this is the place.

2022-05-03Overall the family loved it and the kosher supervision is high here. Nice ambience. In general, I find Chinese food unsatisfying and unhealthy.

2021-10-04I visited this place for the first time in years and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The Chinese food is better than average and the sushi was good, the fish was super fresh. What really made it for me was the value. The meal for my family of four cost only about $120, which for decent food in a pleasant environment is about the best you can hope for in the neighborhood. Definitely a great place to bring the family and I can easily see why its been around for so long.
