When I had a meal at Chocolat yesterday, the service was very bad. It took 10 minutes for the waiter to take my order and the restaurant was not crowded. When I was served, the waiter did not ask me if everything was okay. The collard greens were not hot. Emily’s fried chicken was excellent though.I live on Frederick Douglass Blvd. I thought that Chocolat would be a great restaurant for me to frequent. However, I was disappointed. The waiters and waitresses should spend less time chatting with each other in the back near the kitchen. They should ask the customers if they are satisfied with their food. The three stars are due to the poor service.
When I entered nobody approached me and I had to talk all the way to the back of the restaurant to ask to be seated. She then proceed to point and tell me where to sit instead of guiding me to a table. I had to get up and walk to the back again to ask to order after attempting to get her attention several times. The waitress was lazy and had a bad attitude, she would rather remain in the back of the restaurant or sit and have a hour long conversation with another customer instead of assessing the needs of the other customers. The food came in 25 minutes and I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food compared to the price. The steak mac & cheese was soupy and flavorless, the cornbread was dry and had hard pieces of corn inside of it, the collard greens was flavorless and tasted like it came out of a can. The only thing I enjoyed was the Chocolat burger and fries. The place itself has a nice set up and the music is good but the food is definitely overpriced for the value and the customer service was nonexistent.
If I could give zero stars I would. They had the air conditioning turned off in 90 degree weather. They took 2 hours to seat and serve usThe service at the bar is terrible. The bartender was so rude. I will never come back here. There are so many better spots for brunch in Harlem. Don’t even waste your time. And it stinks in here.
I visited this restaurant a few weeks ago on a Sunday evening. Although some people make reservations, we didn’t have a reservation and there was no wait time. The representative at the restaurant checked both my vaccination card as well as my ID. Once that was done, we were seated, once seated the waiter I believe it was Xavier came over and introduce himself and provided us with the menus. I was pleased to know the restaurant does all day brunch as sometimes I want breakfast food. Our appetizer was bought out to us rather quickly, we ordered the Classic Buttermilk Biscuits. They were very soft and delicious. For our meal we ordered the penne ala vodka with chicken and the baby back ribs with baked macaroni and cheese and cole slaw. The pasta was absolutely delicious, I couldn’t put my fork down. I’m usually not able to eat all my food but it was so delicious that I ate the majority of it in the restaurant. I ordered a Shirley Temple which was also really good. Xavier was very attentive during our time there and kept checking on us to see if we needed anything. There are also tv monitors at the restaurant which had sports on. The restrooms are gender neutral. The restaurant is accessible via public transportation. However, we were lucky enough that when we pulled up someone was leaving and was able to get parking in front of the restaurant. The prices were expensive for the two of us the bill was over $100. I look forward to returning to the restaurant so I can try their other foods on the menu. Give them a try you may like it.
The AMBIANCE in this place nice, this was my first time in there. Ive known about this place for 3 years, MY SERVER WAS EXCELLENT I would want him again, he was very accommodating, he was so very polite. The music was good, it looked like everyone was enjoying themselves. For us the food was tasty and filling couldnt finish it all took the rest home, other than that I would go back. I know some celebrities that eat there also film there, theyre put this place on the map. We had a nice time. Trust and BELIEVE IF I WASNT PLEASE IT WOULD HAVE KNOWN. I AM VERY CRITICAL. Yes I will be back my experience was very nice!!!😊
The Black Own sticker that is on the restaurant door should be removed because it is an embarrassment to the Black community.Went here for Mothers day 2022 and it was a waste of time. There was no hostess. No greeter, no one. The people behind the bar looked at me and my husband and nothing was said to us. A waiter actually place a menu back in its slot by the hostess stand, he didnt even look at us. In total four employees passed us in three minutes and not one word was said to us.Another couple came after four minutes of us waiting. They actually grab a menu from behind the hostess stand because there was no one there. First impressions two thumbs down. After waiting another two minutes I asked the female behind the bar if someone was coming? She said yes they are coming. I wasnt going to wait around another five or six minutes so we left.It is a shame that employess have poor customer service. Their body language seems like they dont care. Honestly this low frequency energy the employees have is a reflection of MANAGEMENT! Fix your team please and have someone station as a hostess/greater. A employees by the door is essential, especially on major Holidays. Management should look into taking refeasher courses on 2021-2022 Restaurant management. Fix your team so money wont walk out the door, unless that is something management could careless about. The food online looked good it is ashamed I couldnt even get a taste of it.
I came to this establishment on 3/27/2022. My Family were visiting from out of town. I made a reservations and still had to wait. We were finally seated. Our waiters Ashley was slow but pretty good. We ordered our food and one of the things we ordered didn’t come. Our bill came and we paid it not realizing that they charged us for something we never received. Which was very confusing to me because if u didn’t see it at the table even tho we ordered it how can you still charge us. I called them the next day to let them no I was over charged, the lady immediately rushed me off the phone. I was already in route back to the restaurant to speak with someone. I went in spoke with the “manager” about what happens and she still was very dismissive. She lied to my face and told me she was the only working and she couldn’t go downstairs to check the receipt. After explaining that my family is on vacation and I don’t live in Harlem she still had no solution and expected us to leave. She then wen to the back and called someone. All of sudden a black man comes walking from the back. He came and wasn’t doing much neither. This is a black owned business and this should have never happened. That man was very rude and dismissive just as the other lady. He’s explaining to me this is first time hearing about it and that wasn’t helping us. They didn’t want to give us our money back after we spent $280 in there the previous day for brunch. Very unprofessional.
It was really good. Love the biscuit and chicken with sweet maple chili sauce . Soo good. The mac and cheese was great . Red velvet pancakes was good. My boyfriend had a bit of an issue getting his unlimited mimosas but other than that it was great experience and food was good 👍. But it is expensive so beware.
I took my kids to the Magic Johnson movie theater and had planned to take them out to dinner after to the Chocolat Restaurant. They didn’t see the reservation which wasn’t a big deal because I booked it 30 min before. We were pretty much seated right away. My kids and I were sitting for over 30 minutes and have yet to have a waitress come over. In fact, I’m sitting here while typing this waiting for someone to come over. The one waitress that was assisting the table next to us was joking and carrying on with other tables and seemed to be helpful to them. Now that my kids are restless I am literally just waiting to finish typing this and then take my kids back home. I would like to assume that the food taste good - it at least smells good. i will never come back here.Arrival time 7:24, seated a few minutes after, time is now 8:09pm and have yet to have our order taken.
Cannot say enough good things about this place! Delicious, high quality food. Great vibes. Great service. Not cheap, but worth it.My mom (whom Ive traveled to New Orleans and through Texas with) said they had the best Shrimp and Grits she had ever had. Everything was superb. Will be back.
They have GREAT food, I have no complainants on that. The music is always great too. However, customer service can be a little better. This was my second time going and hostess, waitresses, bartenders are all very rude. We ordered Grubhub for pick up because we were told the kitchen closes at 9. My friends and I traveled all the way from Staten Island… upon arrival we realized people were still entering and being seated. We asked the hostess if we can eat there and she said no. I thought it was really messed up to not be able to sit and eat where we got the food from. It’s not like we came with outside food. It’s 30 degrees out we did not want to travel all the way back home with our food. My friend decided to sit and get a drink at the bar so we can eat there. The bartender had a very nasty attitude. My friend asked for the finest martini. She walked away for 10-15 minutes serving other people then came back and asked “so you just want any martini?”. After letting her know we didn’t want a drink anymore she abruptly snatched our drink menus from us. Like I said, the food is a 10/10 but costumer service sucks.
The food is amazing. No question. The overall experience with service, horrible. I’ve been here twice within the last 2 months and there is always an issue with their hours or getting seated or ordering. I even made a reservation 2 months ago which was confirmed and when I showed up, they were closed. I saw employees inside right by the front including the General Manager with the curly hair and she literally ignored me. Oh how her energy changed once we got in and were seated because there were some important people there (I believe the owners). One of them approached myself and my family and was very kind. Wished me happy birthday and gave exceptional service. Last night was just another issue, attempting to rush my friend and I out. Once again, this was under the advisement of the curly haired GM.
I went with a friend to have brunch on Sunday. It was our first time. The place was packed! Even with a reservation it took 10 minutes to get a seat. Once seated, it didnt take more than ten minutes for someone to come with water and our waitress to get our orders.I ordered the steak and eggs and my friend ordered the salmon croquettes with grits. We both ordered the bottomless mimosas. The food came in a reasonable amount of time. It looked delicious, so did all the food that was ordered around us! Our food was as good as it looked. It was fresh, plentiful and cooked perfectly. We also had our fair share of mimosas. Mine was traditional and my friends was with cranberry juice. Tastey! I look forward to coming again and trying some of the other dishes, like the fried chicken and red velvet waffles.
I have been to this spot once before but this is my first review. The girls and I made reservations for 10ppl for 1pm. When I arrived I had to find steet parking and found parking on the street eventually. I walked over and the hostess told me I had to wait for the rest of the party before they sat me. The place is kind of small and all the big tables were all taken and they didnt look like they were leaving anytime soon. Mind you, I got there like 20 minutes earlier than our reservations. So, some more ladies showed up and it was now about 1:15 and the larger tables were still unavailable. The restaurant doesnt seem to have seating limits, which they should to accommodate other reservations. It only ended up being 6 of us and they sat us at the top table where there was barely any light up there.Woody was our server and he was really good. I ordered the red sangria and that was $17. For my entrée I ordered the seafood croquettes and plain grits. When my food came out it was kind of cold so I had to send it back to be warmed. I had to add quite a bit of salt so the grits could taste better and the croquettes were just ok. The girls had different meals. One of the girls had the fried chicken and she said it was more breaded that meat. She said she had to search for the meat. All in all the food was just ok. The bill included gratuity and it was close to $60 for my 2 items. This place is a bit overpriced if you ask me. I had an ok experience.
Came here from out of town for a birthday dinner. Bad service from the start. Instead of being properly seated, the host simply pointed at the table. No one took the time to go over the menus with us. No one checked to see if we needed anything after we were served our food. Water was never replenished until we had to ask at the end. We couldn’t even track down our waiter. Very disappointed in this experience. It was clear which crowd they truly cater to as everyone else was being paid more attention to and left smiling. Expected more from this black owned business.
This place is insanely overpriced. I ordered the fried chicken with Mac n cheese and collard greens to be safe. The chicken was good. Mac n cheese and collard greens were mediocre 5 out of 10 at best. I ordered a Tokyo iced tea, which is their twist on a long island iced tea. This drink was also mediocre. It was not shaken, just poured into a hot glass and some ice dumped into it with no garnish. Drink was hot within minutes. Every cocktail on the menu is $18 and there are no happy hour specials. Skip this place.
I have heard of this restaurant and how great the food is. I chose last night (12/16/2021) to take my lady out to finally see it for myself and the overall service left me disappointed. We made a reservation for 8:45pm and upon arrival weren’t even greeted probably. The first thing that was said to us instead of “Good evening,” or “welcome” was “we close at 9.” It caught me off guard being that I made the reservation for 8:45.We got to the table and the server put the menus down on our table as if she was upset that we decided to come out and eat. Instead of coming back to us, she immediately turned the lights up and then came to take our orders. That was actually the last time she came back to us outside of when I had to flag her down for orders that were forgotten to be told “we don’t have anymore, they’re closing up back there.”I had the steak and shrimp Mac and cheese. The only thing I thoroughly enjoyed was the mac and cheese. I asked for the steak to be made medium well and after repeating over again the steak still came out medium. After being totally disappointed and disgusted I paid the bill, which came to me almost immediately, and left. As a manager of a restaurant of my own I pride myself on 100 percent hospitality. The experience for the first guest needs to be the same for the last guest and that wasn’t given to us at all. I’m not sure if I’ll be back just based on service alone.
Nice location and has outdoor dining. Food tasted good and is seasoned well, but cooking techniques could be better. I ordered the spinach Florentine. My grits were coagulated, the hollandaise was too thick, and my eggs were poached soft instead of a usual medium poach. Cornbread was good. Simple technical errors (Im a chef so I know) but other than that it was an overall ok experience.
My best friend and were visiting from Florida. We wanted to support a black owned business. The red velvet pancakes and seafood croquettes were amazing. The place was really busy we sat at the bar. The bartender’s name is RIOS. I have never met anyone as RUDE as this man, absolutely no professional. He doesn’t seem to like his job . My friend asked for water twice, he ignored her. Also he added 18% gratuity, on a party of two, when it clearly stated on the menu , gratuity is added for party of six or more. I asked to speak with the manager, She didn’t seem interested in my complaints about Rios, she just removed the gratuity. I was disappointed in my visit.I highly recommend Hospitality training for the entire Staff !!!!!
I missed this place already. I came to visit NYC to watch The Ball Drop for New Years Day. I had me thinking like... ... ... Why it dont have a e at the end? I know now. Theres no ending this restaurant. Thank you for everything. The professionalism, the energy within the cleanliness. I would most definitely tell a friend to tell a friend to come here or bring a friend here next time.
One of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. When my family I arrived at the restaurant, it was packed with people who had been waiting in line for hours. The hostess wasn’t even present and people were standing around aimlessly waiting for help. We were forced to wait for almost 2 hour before a server even acknowledged our presence. To add insult to injury, this all occurred even though we had placed a reservation beforehand! I can’t believe that service like this can be tolerated at any establishment, let alone one that is supposed to be so highly rated. First impressions matter, which is why I’ll never be dining here again.
Visited last night, party of four. The waiter never engaged us, no greeting and did not let us know his name. We were seated outside. Next the food was terrible. My grandson who enjoys eating did not like the taste of his lobster mac & cheese. Our family enjoys eating, but this was bad bad and definately overpriced.
Food was pretty good! Service was absolutely horrible..I ordered unlimited mimosas and my waiter came to my table literally 2 times! I ordered cornbread didn’t get it after telling another waiter he acted like he was going to get it and never brought it back🙄. Know that your customers make your business run make sure their being taken care of!
The food was delicious hands down but the service as soon as you walked in was non-existant. There was no host/hostess and not one worker stopped to check on patrons entering the restaurant. My friend had to speak to a waiter passing by. Once we were seated things were a bit better.
Great location, items are a bit pricey. Im a NYer so when I see $16 for a glass of wine in Harlem I have certain expectations. We had issues when using Mastercard to pay...servers claim it happens regularly with MC.For Vegan folks not many options, so I had a ceasars salad.
This place needs reevaluation. Went on a sunday for brunch (made reservation for 7 at 12 pm) Doors did not open until about 12:10. Once we entered the restaurant tables were not set up. The host did not ask me my name just asked how many as if making a reservation made no difference. He then led us to a private area (up the stairs) before even sitting down I noticed a roach crawling up the wall. I was COMPLETELY turned off by that. My cousin tried to get a picture and the host screamed at her as if she was wrong. We demanded to be sat in a different area and asked to speak with a manager. 15 minutes later a woman named Sarah said that their was no manager on duty and gave me a card to email him. She also said the exterminator came by last night that is why the roaches are out. Yeah right. How is it possible to have no manager on duty on a sunday for brunch? That makes absolutely no sense. Food was pretty good, mimosas were good but service needs major work. I will be reaching out with the manager because who wants to eat somewhere when there are roaches crawling around. Gross.
My date and I arrived at the restaurant. No one was there to seat us. 15 minutes later we were seated. The waiter asked us what we wanted to drink. I asked for water and my date for a Coke. We got 2 waters. We ordered our food, took a very long time to come out, and we also didn’t have any utensils. A waiter finally brought us utensils minutes later. The food was “ok”. The music is so loud, you’d think you were in a club and not a restaurant. And why does the whole place smell like cat litter?! This will be the first and last time I will go to Chocolat.
Food was good. Drinks mediocre. Service— HORRIBLE. I made a reservation for 8:30pm for 2 on saturday and when we arrived it took like 10 mins for someone to even come to the host stand and greet us. When he did he checked our reservation and vax cards then let us know their credit card machine was not working so they were only taking cash… I thought that was quite strange but whatever. We left to go get cash from an atm and came back. We were greeted by the manager and walked back only to be left standing in the middle of the room while she talked to some of the servers but did not actually communicate to us that the table was not ready. She finally acknowledged that we were aimlessly standing in the middle of the floor and told us to go wait back by the host stand. We walked back and waited then we’re flagged over to come back. We sat for about 15 mins before I finally said something because no one had stopped over to greet us or bring waters/take drink orders. The manager came back over took our drink orders. Took at least another 10/15 mins to get our water and drinks. Meanwhile the entire time we were waiting we’re watching multiple servers stand around and talk by our table. It was very confusing. We ended up ordering 2 entrees and the calamari app. Didn’t ever get the calamari. The lamb chops and salmon were very tasty. The chocolate martinis are literally all the same drink but not bad. At the end the have the audacity to add 18% gratuity to the bill when I couldn’t even tell you WHO are server was because the service was so inconsistent and just awful. This really seems like a place that puts all their effort into their brunch, so if you’re going to come for anytime outside of that I would just save your money.
If i could give 0 stars I would. My family booked a reservation for Mothers Day and had to wait TWO HOURS just to have another party of 5 be seated before them!! And the server has the nerve to tell someone to get out of there face when asking about updates on their table and then calls the cops. Unacceptable. Horrible service. They need new employees. Unprofessional. An absolute horrendous way to spend mothers day.
My cousin and I came here on a random Sunday. I found parking literally right out front. (Rare AF) We didnt even have to wait long to be seated. (Even better). We thought we missed brunch but actually still ended up getting unlimited mimosas. AND we met these really dope ladies who sat across from us. They were such a vibe. Soooooo I guess you can say our overall experience was litt AF. Oh yeah, AND the food was banging. I highly recommend. This place is such a chill vibe. Not too pricy either. We will be back.
This place was not prepared for the Father’s Day rush, even within a reservation. 2 hours until seating and placing order then another hour to wait for food, is just absurd and unacceptable. Hoping there can be some resolution because as it stands I do not recommend this establishment. Management and team MUST do better.
ATMOSPHERE: The place is lively. The level of music was great. My friends and I were able to hear each other speaking, and the music was a good mix selection r&b and hip hop. I had a reservation for 6 pm and was seated promptly. I went with 2 other people.FOOD: Our food took an hour and 15 minutes to come. We had had 3 drinks each by the time the food came. The fact that i was able to have 3 drinks and still walk out fine means the drinks were weak. We ordered the biscuits as an appetizer. Let me say. The buscuits were ordered because our meal was taking forever and the waitress told us the busicut would take only 15 minutes. Which it did. I had the beef short ribs that came with spinach and mashed potatoes, and my friends had the fried chicken and the ny strip steak. The busicuits were probably the best thing we ate. After that, I would say the fried chicken was seasoned good, and the sauce that came with the chicken was really good. Otherwise, everything else lacked seasoning. It was very bland, including the mac and cheese that came with the fried chicken. The collard greens taste like it came from a can. Let me change that the can collard greens i had had more flavor.WAITRESS: The waitress was friendly and nice once we were able to get her to come to the table. She spent more time in the faces of the male waiters, just chatting it up and laughing. The waiters for the table 2 tables over were more attentive to us than our assigned waitress.
The service and drinks were amazing and I thought the food would be too as it has before but I went in with my expectations too high. My calamari was good; however, I was not impressed with the curry remoulade that came with my shrimp. I’d go back because Chocolat has some good items on their menu but the shrimp is NOT IT!
The host was extremely rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. We had reservations for 3:30pm and when we came we told her and she said “rsvps aren’t honored and we’ll have to wait 20-30mins.” She told this to me and another group of people who also had reservations. She completely dismissed us. Made us feel completely uncomfortable and we left.
My fried chicken was so crunchy and full of flavor!!! Im a Texan so Im sensitive about soul food. Chocolat did not disappoint! The smashed potatoes and collard greens were delicious. I asked for a side of gravy and it was divine too! Service was impeccable during this global pandemic. I look forward to going back!
Made a reservation days in advance for 1:30pm. Two employees walked passed the hostess booth where we were standing since 1:28. One finally asked if we were being assisted and then said they will send the manager over , Sarah the manager came over about 1:37 and confirmed our reservation. Then said there’s a 20-30 minute wait ! How do you require reservations and then ignore those who reserved . Unprofessional and unorganized! You will not be seated it’s a first come first serve
So I wanted to have my anniversary dinner here but when I opened there front door I saw a plumpy mouse looking at me. Literally at the front door!!! I told the manager & canceled my reservation because of that & the manager looked at me & said its from upstairs & closed the door on my face. We decided to go down the block to Harkin Tavern, much better.
IF YOUR NOT 50+ Don’t Go . My experience was horrible. The manager Lee was prejudice toward us I’ve never had an experience like this in Harlem. I myself am A Professional as well as my sibling so we have visited many restaurants to know what it feels like. After speaking with him he tried to act like I was creating controversy when I just wanted to know a estimated wait time. I speak very properly so there is never a need to think im controversial Lml
I really want to give this place more stars but I really cant. We came here for their famous lobster mac and cheese. Now I will say this, it is still phase 2 of NYC opening up post corona pandemic but I have to say that I was completely disappointed in the service here. We sat with menus for over 20 minutes without even a shadow of a waitress. When we finally placed our order it took another 25 minutes just to get drinks. Now Im aware that things arent running as smoothly as usual but that was just unnecessary. In total we waited for over an hour for our entree once the appetizer we ordered arrived. Now for the food. The lobster mac and cheese was excellent amd the bbq burger was super good too but we ordered it medium well and got well done. The southern fried chicken took the cake though. Nicely seasoned, battered and fried, it was perfection. The margarita was strong like it should be and delicious. The hostess and waitress were nice but the service needs some serious work
As someone who has previously worked in the service industry as a server I was extremely disappointed with the service at this restaurant. Our waitress was extremely rude. She cut me off while I tried to order an app, she almost hit me in the head with a plate and did not apologize. Her attitude was rude, and it seemed she did not want to serve us. The food was also not worth the price, while the lobster Mac was good everything else was mediocre. Our server brought my friend the wrong order, and we found a hair in the eggs Benedict. Our server did nothing to rectify it. I def would not recommend unless you want to pay for overpriced food and forced to tip a server who was terrible and miserable at her job.
The food as ok..The service was horrible! After waiting for 2 hrs for our food....we asked for the manager..who refused to speak with a table that spent over $400! I felt that they didnt care because the tip already came out! I want to support black businesses..but come on people!!! Never again! Not this one anyway...plus I can go to Popeyes for fried hard chicken!
I made a 1pm reservation and they telling me that I have to wait an hour just to be seated. What is the point of a reservation when you still have to wait a long period of time. And on top of that the host/waiter is super rude and ignores you. Its my first time here and its going to be my last. Nvr again
On an adventure with friends looking to explore minority and women owned businesses and this was our first stop. Coming in, one of the first things that stand out is the amazing selection of music, kept me bopping my head the whole way through.I ordered the French Toast with Fried Chicken and not gonna lie, the chicken and seasoning was amazing- the French toast, however was just regular. Unlimited Mimosas for 20.00 and bellinis for 25.00. (A bit much)The price is a bit on the expensive side, be prepared to spend anywhere between 40-60 bucks for mimosas and an entree. But if youre with good company be prepared to enjoy yourselves. If youre looking for a space that is for and by people of color, def the spot to check out.
Not sure what the knock is on this place, but I can say from my experience here, it was nothing less than 5-star. The dark chocolate martinis to the perfectly cooked Steak and Mac & Cheese to the Shrimp & Grits with bacon... was all wonderfully prepared. Vladimiy was our server and bartender, was absolutely amazing in his service. Definitely hope that there is enough time in my stay for a repeat visit!
Delicious Yummm .the services was excellent we was swatted fast even thou we made reservation our waiter was very attentive friendly and event told us bout the fav dishes hands down great services .the place. Its beautiful can wait to go back n try other things in the menus.Oo and this is the best Chiken I have ever try hands down deliciousness.
Delicious food n drinks. However, I didnt like my Harlem Manhattan being served in a plastic cup @$14 a drink and didnt appreciate being charged $25 simply for bringing my own cake in, especially after payig a $600 tab during this Covid era - there were only 3 tables with ppl at the restaurant mine being the largest party, waitress was not even trying to accommodate us by calling the manager n explaining the situation - flat out no, no, no! 😠I believe accommodation was warranted!
Beautiful space. The music was jamming. Everything we ordered was good. The salad, though expensive ($26), was very good and well portioned. I also had some plaintains which were well done and not greasy. Our server was attentive and courteous. Id definitely return for a special occasion as it looks like they have a private room.Only piece of feedback is for the waitress to wear the mask over mouth and nose at all times.
I really enjoyed my visit here. We went on a Saturday, around 7pm and it was not crowded at all. An interesting mix of patrons. The food was good and a great atmosphere. They have all day brunch everyday I believe. So we got the bottomless mimosas for $25 and were able to switch flavors throughout our meal. I got the seafood cakes and grits. Very good and a large portion. I will be back to try more of the dishes.
Google hours are not correct! They close at 9 PM and 8:45 on Sundays. Came in on a Tuesday at 8:45. Would have been here earlier but parking is a challenge in this area. Anyway…. A waiter informed me they were closed. When I asked what time they close she said “9:15”. Which means me and my date had 30 minutes before the kitchen closes to order. I guess because it’s cold out, maybe a slow night, they closed early. Just call before you come.
I love this restaurant. The food and service is always immaculate and amazing. The servers are attentive and the music is always good. I love this restaurant so much, it’s one of my favorites. The range for what they offer food wise is good too. I always recommend this restaurant to my friends. I never have a bad time here. Please check it out, you won’t be disappointed!
Great atmosphere! If youre goal is to see and be seen, this is the place for you! If youre interested in a satisfying meal...eat before you come.PROS:Beautiful restaurant. No wait to be seated.Attentive server. Wilfredo is the best!Drinks are not fabulous, but satisfying. We didnt feel rushed to settle our bill as we transitioned from brunch to dinner.CONS:Portions are small, small, small.Overpriced. $14 for a slice of Red Velvet Cake?Very few seafood options - lots of chicken on the menu.Pancakes and french toast were undercooked and mushy.FINAL ANSWER:Pleasant vibe, good spot to hangout with friends.Prices and quality of the food are not comparable.Hungry people, enter at your own risk.
The food was nothing special. The portions are not worth the price and neither was the flavor. $4 for a skinny, short glass of coke and no refills. $9 for rosemary “potatoes” yet it was mostly just peppers. The chicken didn’t really have much flavor. We spent $100 for just 2 entrees, 2 drinks, and 1 side. Save your time/money and go somewhere else.
Upon entering this place had a very bad smell the waiter seemed very off before he seated us he told us to wait he wasn’t helping anyone then he finally seated us brought us some dirty menus never asked us if we needed refills or anything let’s talking about the food disgusting not seasoned at all I’ll give it a -1 would never go back at the end trying to pay he swiped my card several times then I walked over there he said he needed a pin I told him that never happens then he so called finally got it to work my bill was $60.16 I was charged $72.17 and he said he didn’t charge me that after I called my card him and the “manager” was laughing in my face the waiter said “it’s only $60” WOULD NEVER GO BACK !!!
If i can leave 0 stars I would! We had reservations and they did not accompany us or help us. There was so many people in the door way and they did not help anyone pr even acknowledge their presence to ask them how many were in their seating party. So unprofessional! Will never come here again!
I love going to a place where the owner is present and working! And it didnt appear as if they were short staffed, not at all. I literally saw the owner wipe down a table and chairs after a party left from eating so new customers could sit and eat. Wonderful service, great food and drinks, not too pricey and the music gives it a nice vibe. I cant wait to go back.Update: Ive gone 3 times since the first time. I actually had a late lunch there today and the owner came over and spoke to me. Such a humble pleasant man, as I promised I will continue to go back.
3 words…Sara is bomb!! I don’t come here often but when I do, I’m never disappointed. Every time I’ve visited, the server Sara has been there and she’s awesome, which adds to the dining experience. The drinks are always well made and strong. The food is also delish. The lobster mac always hits the spot and is a for sure go to! I recently went there with a friend and we paid about $200; for a pitcher of Sangria, an appetizer and 2 entrees. Gratuity was also included, which I’m not accustomed to for only 2 people. But, while it is pricey, it’s well worth it!!
Very bland food, no seasonings, one little piece of fish and a bunch of tomatoes and lettuce. The guy manager is very rude from the door. Stopped food from coming out and we waited for an hr for our food. Half the party left bc the food didnt show. Very disappointed in the services.
Nasty attitude staff. The female hostess lied and said she was the manager. & this male came from nowhere saying he was the manager. They wouldn’t give us a chance to speak(problem was they never gave us a dish & we realized a day later & they REFUSED to pull up the receipt, so we can get our money back). He dismissed us & said we have threatening demeanor (we are BLACK women). VERY PREJUDICED!!! Would NEVER recommend for black ppl especially(no respect for us when we spent $230). I was visiting my family(excited to eat here b/c of TikTok but I’m HIGHLY disappointed in This “black owned” establishment) and they never wanted to resolve our problem peacefully. SERVICE WAS TRASH TOO (no hospitality, fire the whole staff or shut It down).
First of all I dont know what the hype is about. The food was overpriced and the place is just over rated. My sisters order was not what she asked for. The waiter had the nerve to say it wasnt his fault when she specified exactly what she wanted. There is a no take back or fix your order option. So if your order is wrong, you are out of luck. The only thing that was good was the Baby back ribs, and the presentation of the food on the plate. I would not recommend!
Every time I visit this location I really enjoyed the food. The location is great and the environment is decent (4stars) . However, This is probably the only restaurant in the area were Im forced to pay 18% gratitude for a table for 2. Today, I wasnt happy with the service. But its ok, I still have to tip 18%.
Great place, good service and the food was incredible too. We got the french toast and waffles, and eggs Benedict and both were flavorful. Bottomless brunch here is truly bottomless, as our glasses were topped off before we asked and thats truly a wonderful thing in NYC. Kudos! 👏
Paid $118 for watery Mac and cheese with literally zero flavor, penne pasta that was undercooked, and a waffle that’s was dry. The chicken that came with the waffle was good and so were our sweet potatoes. Everything else was a NO, super disappointed. The decor is awesome and service was ok but we will not be returning.
Horrible experience will never return here again was stand by the door for so long waiting for someone to seat me they was acting like I’m invisible didn’t greet me, finally after they told me to sit anywhere they took about 30 mins to take my order I would never come back to this ratchet establishment don’t recommend
Food was awesome, delicious! I was able to find parking right across from the restaurant. The waitress was very nice and good eye candy! I had the calamari for appetizer and salmon for entrée! My father had the short ribs and crab cakes they was awesome! Great atmosphere good music!I will be back again!
The food was great. The service from the waiter was not good. He didnt bring any water or straws for the drinks. Also when I got dessert 🍨that I wanted to share with my guest he did not bring another plate for us. For the money being spent for the food, the service from the waiter needs to improve. The food is great as I mentioned earlier.
Food and music were great! I was a bit put off, however, by a message on the menu that says modifications to menu options are not allowed. This can be a disservice to those of us with dietary restrictions or may not want bacon on a certain dish. I think there should be more flexibility in order to accommodate more folks.
The staff was kind and let us sit there for a while even though they were already closing the restaurant. The food sadly was disappointing for me. As a vegetarian my options were limited and the salad I tried wasn’t good at. It can be difficult to cook red beets but these tasted so bad that I didn’t want to eat them. The cocktails that my friends ordered were pretty sweet, not very flavorful and had a strong taste of alcohol.
Please do not go here! Flies all over the place. Overpriced food that wasnt even good. The waitress definitely had an attitude because we just inquired about the gratuity. Saying that we should have asked her about it before we got the bill lol I had to laugh. Once again when you try to support places in your neighborhood this is what happens. Ridiculous! 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Well where should I start 1st I order Emily southern fried chicken and I was given boneless chicken parts. The couple next to me had chicken and waffles and he had chicken wing and breast so I asked why did I get boneless pieces ? The waitress told the manager and that issues was resolved. The next issues was the the desert I asked what they had I was told rum cake. My question to the wa itress is does it have nuts she said no. That cake had walnuts on it. The reason I asked because I am allergic to all kinds of nuts This 16 dollars slice of cake could have killed me!! And the manager just said Im sorry. The final issues was the credit card machine wasnt working dont you think we should have been told that before we sat down to eat. This day and age most people just have Credit/debit cards.
We placed an order for delivery because I am sick and had to cancel plans for Valentines Day. Took over 2 hours for the food to arrive and when it did it was soggy and luke warm. We’ve ordered from here a lot in the past, but this will be our last time ordering from here.
If I could give 10 stars, I would. The entire experience was amazing. I lived in Brooklyn for 4 years and did not know about this restaurant. Now 4 years later when I live in AZ, my sister found this Black Owned establishment and the website is very inviting. I flew to DE to visit my family and off we went driving to Trenton, and jumping on the one hour train ride to Penn Station NY and then the C-train to 116th Street. The food was so worth the trip. Alpha was awesome as was Sara. I wish I could have purchased a T-shirt. The biscuits are to die for. Thank you for the amazing service. My family and I will be back.
The service is slow- one waiter. But, the food is everything!! Someone’s mother stuck their foot in them biscuits!! Those are literally the best biscuits I’ve every had in my entire life!!! Their deserts was better before COVID 19 and there should be 3 Tacos instead of 2 - for the price. I would give this place 94 soul claps.
Had drinks here for happy hour, which can only be at the bar. I loved the look of this place, very clean, and servers were attentive. Drinks were good too and not weak. Altho me and my friend enjoyed the peach and Apple martini more than the strawberry and watermelon martini. Would come back tho!
I ordered the crabcakes on the menu. I am from Baltimore. There was so little crabmeat that you couldnt see or taste any. They served with a ton of green spinach. Someone should tell them to get some real lump crabmeat and serve with fries. Will not be back or if I do return, I wont order the crabcakes.
My friends and I get together every few months for dinner. We visited Chocolat on 1 February, I called a week in advance and made reservations, when my friends began to arrive the hostesses were unable to find my resevation. Ok, no big deal, they managed to seat us when everyone arrived. Our server was very nice and personable. The service and food could have been better, not servers fault, he was taking care of at least 2 large parties on his own. I fault management for not providing him with more help. The food was pretty good, I had the salmon as an entree and fried calamari as appetizer. Wasnt bad not a fan of potatoes and prefer my calamari a little crisper.Overall, not bad. Atmosphere and ambiance was nice and restroom clean.
I went one day and it was only one waiter (middle of crazy covid times) so service was a bit slow, but i had the BEST Bday meal ever. This place has the best baked mac and cheese ive had in harlem honestly. Went again later on and the service was 100% better and the food just as good!
We are here from out of state and found that this place was offering traditional Thanksgiving meals. We made a reservation for 8 pm on their website and received an email confirmation. We decided to change it to the 9 pm reservation which is says was the last one they accept on their website and also received an email confirmation of the change. I decided to call and confirm before we caught a 30 min. ride to get there and was rudely told by the lady that answered that there was no way I had a reservation for 9 pm because they close at 8. Thats horrible considering my original reservation was for 8 pm when she rudely told me they closed. Hmm I wouldnt have even given 1 star but you had to at least give 1 star. Thank you to the rude lady I would much rather give my money to a business with better service. Please see screenshot of both email confirmations.
Beautiful location. Customer service was flat. Food was okay, but pricey. Shrimp (6) and grits (2 cups) 32$ Salmon fillet over (1 cup) mash potatoes 33$ Mango Margarita 14$ total 79$. It was sort of empty, which was fine with me. I would DEFINITELY not go back though. I felt that the food wasnt that good for the price.
When I first entered I was a bit skeptical. Thought it would have been a bit more fancy but once seated I felt very comfortable. The drinks had good strength which I like I dont do weak drinks. The food is what really made this place a great visit. The fried chicken for appetizer was absolutely delicious the home made dipping sauces the Ranch and BBQ were really good. The Mac and cheese was really good didnt need the bacon one. Next time Ill try the lobster Mac. Braised Short Rib with mash potatoes and spinach was phenomenal. The ribs were so tender and soft. Oh and my lady had the turkey burger it was so juicy and the server was able to accommodate her on some added toppings. Overall I give this restaurant a four star rating and would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a good cozy date night or just hang out with friends.
First morning of our vacation and we happened to walk up to this beautiful establishment. The initial welcoming was pleasant and was seated promptly. Our server provided the best customer service, made suggestions, and answered all our questions. Our food was delivered hot and the presentation was outstanding. Chicken and red velvet pancakes did not disappoint one bit. I will be returning at least two more times before we depart back home. Thank you for providing a great experience.
My friends and I visited Chocolat for Saturday Brunch and it was a great experience! The host welcomed us as soon as we entered the door, we had a reservation and were seated quickly, our orders were taken in a timely manner, and we each ordered bottomless mimosas and the drinks were free-flowing the entire time. Our waiter (I forgot his name) was funny and attentive. The food was pretty good, and the atmosphere was pretty lit. Great music, great people, and an overall great time!
Went here for brunch and I must say that the food definitely exceeded my expectations. I had the red velvet pancakes, which were moist and chicken was very well seasoned. My date had the Buttermilk French Toast which he absolutely loved. Environment was dope, attention from waitress, Sarah at the bar was outstanding. A bit dated decor would be my only suggestion for improvement.
The manager was very accommodating and the servers and waiters seating us were superb as well as the hostess whom was very warm spirited and welcoming. The food was the best the shrimp, lobster Mac and bacon Mac and chicken wings were delicious and the dishes served were on my best tasting list. Compliments to the chef my husband brought me as a date night and the chocolate martini sealed the perfect meal.
I love this place. Been there many times for dine in and takeout and even had my sisters birthday dinner there last year. The food is always amazing and its reasonable priced. If youre looking for a restaurant with good food, ambiance and music, this is the place to go.
I stopped in with a friend on a Saturday night for dinner and was absolutely blown away by the experience. The staff was attentive and courteous, and the food was amazing. Those biscuits are from another planet theyre so good. Theyre so good that I ended up ordering them twice for dessert and my friend took an order of them home.
Saturday night date night with the wife and she selected this restaurant. Friendly atmosphere. Great conversation. Waitstaff was very attentive and made sure that we were taken care of. Food was VERY good. My only negative was that my chocolate cake was refrigerator cold. Velvet cake had a tasty strawberry preserve. Appetizer and entree were properly prepared. Would definitely return and refer to others!
I made a reservation for 20 people earlier in the week...the manage was on point with accommodation of should large party on short notice. The staff was amazing ...especially the host and our server. The food was amazing .My party enjoyed the food and drinks. I enjoyed the food so much I ate twice. ..first the cheddar and mozzarella cheese omelette and then the pan cakes with fried chicken. Thank you chocolat for making this occasion the best. Did I mention my wife and I had just did our gender reveal at the morning side park.
The service took forever I order a steak, spinach and fries. Only the fries were seasoned and even the fries needed more seasoning. I ordered a medium well steak and I received a well done steak. On the menu it also claimed the steak came with herb butter which I had to ask to receive. The waiter was also hard to get a hold of and caused a my service to take longer. Don’t eat here unless you plan on heading into the kitchen to cook the food yourself.
This place is ok. I wont judge that when we went they were clearly short staffed which could have been due to covid so therfore Ill exclude that. Now the website would bring you to eat here but in my personal experience I wouldnt go back. My food was very mediocre. I dont like to go out to dinner and feel like I could make that dish myself or even better than the place Im eating. The Mac and cheese was decent and we dont drink so I cant comment on that. Aside from the food, we were charged for $70 worth of drinks that we didnt get then after explaining that and it was taken off, the bus boy accidently charged us $30 extra for no reason. I had to get the bill fixed a second time which caused me to lose trust in the establishment. Personally I could not see myself going back. I only gave them 3 stars was because our waitress was amazing and she was so sweet. I didnt try everything on the menu so therfore my judgment isnt complete regarding the whole menu but that was my experience.
Nice brunch spot. Something about the owner being present and checking on guests made me satisfied. You do however need a more efficient way to seat guests as they arrive. We waited over an hour to be seated and got skipped a few times.Manager and owner looked into it immediately cos they saw when we arrived and was shocked to see that we were just being seated after a long time.
Been here before prior to covid, summer of 2019. Very nice service at that time although some things were over priced. I’m literally leaving this place now because we walked in and stood at the front for 5 mins without a single worker saying anything to us; mind you there were two workers on their phones by the bar, possibly handling business, but not one of them even turned to look at us to say someone will be with us or anything and we were in their eyesight. Poor customer service is always a turnoff and I will forever take my money where I am appreciated (the two starts is because the previous experience was decent).
Had and amazing time with myFamily here. Food and drinks were DELICIOUS! Staff was awesome! Great music in the background! Special shout out to the hostess that assisted in getting my family party of 10 seated and orders before brunch ended. Thanks for going the extra mile Im sorry I didnt get her name but she was awesome!!! We will definitely be back and recommend to others!!!
I only give honest reviews. Sooo....The wait for food was longer than 45 mins almost 1 hour. We ordered the unlimited mimosas that came 30 minutes after the food because we pressed the waiter. The food was cold and dry. I will not be going back here again. Good luck.
Very upset with my experience. My food was decent but the chicken was not fully done on one wing. I also ordered unlimited mimosas, with the other half of my table, which costs $20. As a single drink the breakdown is not dramatically expensive. However, with the drinks and entree and gratuity— it is not a cheap meal by any means. The drinks themselves both looked and tasted like juice and juice only. Looking at the glass you could tell there was barely champagne. Each woman at my table felt the exact same. The most upsetting part of my experience is my conversation with the owner, Leon. I kindly expressed my frustration with the price of the drink in direct correlation to the taste and “strength” in which it held. By no means was he understanding or willing to find a solution for a customer and table who have patronize his establishment time and time again. I asked if there was a chance we could make it stronger or better and there was no sense of urgency to help. No discount offered at all. Do not go to this restaurant.
I recently came here to celebrate my birthday with family. My party consisted mostly of adults and two children. We came on a Tuesday evening and were seated quickly. Our server was friendly and very accomodating. The prices here arent cheap so keep this in mind before going. The lower priced meals are $29 on average. The music selection was nice and overall we had a great time and the food was enjoyed by all. Some of my complaints were there was no childrens menu so we ended up having to may $30 for a 3 year eat. I dont expect an extensive childrens menu, but something simple: chicken tenders, pasta, and some other option for REASONABLE price. The restaurant could also use a refresh, there were areas were the walls were dingy and for a venu at the price point there are at I expect a little more from them.Again, overall, we had a great time, but there is room for some simple improvements that can go a long way.
At 9:30pm on the night after Valentines Day this restaurant was still filled with the ambiance of love and family. The restaurant is a cross between family friendly , hipster and lounge. There was a DJ playing our favorite songs from the late 90s to the current time. The food is Southern Soul and American. The appetizer I ordered was fried shrimp in a spicy curry remoulade sauce. Which was NOT spicy. My entree was a red snapper in a lemon sauce, spinach and a unique spin on mashed potatoes. For dessert I ordered a slice of cheesecake and it was amazing. The food is moderately priced, meaning you wont go broke on a date here but 2 for $20 is NOT an option. I would definitely recommend a trip to this restaurant.
Well this restaurant was recommended by Google as a family place . Not the case . I could say its more of an adult type place . My family and I when there just when theyre opening there door . ( 11am not 10am like its said on Google ). We were with another couple, the staff great us . They where nice and we got a table in the middle of the restaurant which had a nice view of the street and the interior of the restaurant. Nice place and nice decor . We order coffee ($3.50 )and never got a spoon to stir the sugar ( never got offered milk) a Sprite ($4.) And orange juice ($4.) . We order velvet pancakes , French toast with fried Chicken and BBQ ribs($18.) . The kids love the pancakes but I have to say the fried chicken was dry ( 3 small piece by the way )for $26. Dollars a plate , I was expecting a little more and what made it uncomfortable was that it had to many small Bones . Plus did waited a bit more them 5 minutes for the food . A bit to much for being only two customer in the restaurant . I would not recommend this place as a family place . Oh, before I forget the 18% gratuity is already included in your check something that I didnt really like . I like to tip as I see service . I worked in restaurant and bars so I know all the work its put in . But that turn me off especially because I felt the service wasnt to par with the tip .Enjoy if you go but am definitely not planning on it .
My lady and I share the same sentiments;Food was fantastic; well prepared, seasoned and presentation was on point. Good vegetarian options. The 90 s r&b and neoclassic soul provided a nice laid back vibe and ambiance. Our waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed as he was the only one on the floor (I also saw him behind the bar making drinks)! However, he still managed to do a decent job of accomodating us.Were going back in a few weeks; theres a few things on the menu we havent tried yet ;-)
.... Ambience and Decor could have been better. Candles would have helped immensely. Servers are all green and need some serious menu and steps of service training.Cocktails are overpriced and not special. No garnishes, no special spirit. Just blah.Food lacked flavor. Chicken and biscuits appetizer is something I can easily make at home. I ordered the $32 Shrimp and Grits and was gravely disappointed.I would not come back.
Me & my Wifes 1st time here & the food didnt disappoint. We both had the Shrimp & Grits(without the bacon!)& they give you a nice amount of Grits & the Shrimps were grilled & seasoned nice. The Fish Tacos for apps were also good. The Cornbread wasnt great but not bad. The service time couldve been a little better but well save that 4 anotha time.
I was excited to dine at Chocolat after I read all the positive reviews however my experience was the opposite. You would think the food would be superb based on the menu but the food was bland, no flavor or seasoning whatsoever. I had the snapper fillet with basmati rice, the presentation of the dish was not appealing and the flavor followed suit. Although the food was horrible the waiter was nice and attentive. The only thing good about this place are the drinks. Word of advice if you decide to dine at this restaurant proceed with caution, this place is totally over hyped.
I made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance to celebrate my partner birthday for a party of 25 people. 3 days before my reservation I called and confirmed with Mr. Ellis who is the manager and he told me that my reservation is confirmed and everything is set for 2pm for Sunday March 31, 2019. On the day when my guests arrived about 1:30pm we were told that we would have to wait at least 1.5 hours because there was no tables available and they were not sure if any table would be available then either. I had to take my cake and made an emergency call to another restaurant that could accommodate my guests. This was totally unacceptable, disappointing, embarrassing and inconvenient to me and my guests. I also called the following day and Mr. Ellis promised to call me back and he didnt! Chocolat is an absolute mess and I will NEVER dine or encourage anyone to eat there!04/05/2019...After a very fruitful and pleasant conversation with Mr. Ellis who reached out to me about the situation. I just want say thank you, this is how damaged control should be done. After all I have dined at the restaurant and the service experience was amazing, which is why I wanted to celebrate that happy moment with my partner and his guest there. The fact that Mr. Ellis took the time to call and apologized sincerely about the experience is well applauded. I will definitely forgive them for that one mishap and hope that a situation like this does not reoccur in the future. Also its hard to pass on their amazing mimosa!
I met a friend for Sunday brunch. While the food was great, the service left room for improvement. The red velvet pancakes were delicious. The waiter never came back to check on us. He charged the wrong amount on two of our credit cards, although we had written the amounts down for him. The atmosphere was nice.

2022-05-29Visited on a Sunday and the outside seating was packed but inside was spacious. Took a bit to be seated and get the check, not sure if they are short staffed.Pros: Nice outdoor appearance, Lively music, and good food. I ordered the lobster Mac n cheese, avocado salad, and red velvet pancakes with fried chicken.Cons: The restrooms are close to dining area with open door. Needlessly to say that can be unpleasant if seated there. The water taste weird and the restaurant has an ordor. The prices are high for simple dishes. There was already 18% gratuity included on the bill, for a table of 2 was about $130.Overall, this is a great place to share dishes and the bill.

2022-06-28Really good. Tried their famous red velvet waffles and fried chicken and was not disappointed. The waffle was almost like cake. Pricier end, but great food and ambience.Came back again to try the short rib mac and cheese and that was also great.Consistent over the two visits was the slower service speed. Went once on a Friday and again on a Monday afternoon. Took a while to have orders taken and a while to get the bill when we were clearly done.

2022-03-13Omg! Today I came In for a late brunch and I was blown away! This was an amazing brunch dining experience. They no longer require masks to be worn & proof of vaccination. They had great music playing that wasn’t overwhelming. The decor is perfect. The drinks are beautiful, the food was fresh, delicious & well seasoned. Just good!I can’t believe I have walked past this hidden gem many times. When in Harlem & looking for a good place to brunch, GO HERE!

2022-03-28Sooo I was really looking forward to eating here. Upon arrival the server never greeted or acknowledged us. Didn’t even look up. Now one hour past my reservation (for a party of 3) the server just informed me that he took my name off the list because he didn’t see me (standing in the entrance) with the other 25 patrons waiting. Maybe call out my name next time? They were unapologetic about the wait. Wow. He also did this to other patrons (removed their name from the list) at the counter waiting as well. So unfortunate. Please, please put a more experienced person at the counter to welcome patrons; FIRST IMPRESSIONS MATTER. If you’re unwilling or unable to communicate with customers you shouldn’t work the front counter. To boot, patrons next to us with a 2pm reservation were just told that have a 50 minute wait. They’re now angry and sitting at the bar. I just went to the desk again and am told there’s no idea when I’ll be seated. Another party just told off the counter waiter and left angry. Look at the prices… this isn’t some dive but you’ll likely get better service at one. Do not take reservations; you’re not equipped to handle it. Especially at brunch. I really want to support black owned business especially in Harlem but service people… service. Service matters. Chicken, Mac and cheese, red velvet waffles and collards were good.

2022-03-15Went for brunch on 2/12/22. Great service and food. I ordered the shrimp & grits. The ambiance was cool vibes, casual dressed with Caribbean tunes playing in the background. I’ve been here once before in the past and have a very different experience so I was glad to return and be able to update my experience with 5 stars. I would recommend this location for brunch, date night, or just drinks out with friends. The bar is fully stocked as well.

2021-12-19First time here. I had a great time - I think the service was quick and friendly. Best service during the pandemic. First place I’ve been too where they actually give you bottomless mimosas. I’ve been to places where you have to hunt the waiter down to refill your drink. I did not have to ask once for them to refill the drink - not once. Bill already paid and I still have a full glass. I hope everyone has the same experience!

2022-04-09I Love Love this place for Brunch!! The atmosphere is amazing and the vibes!! The owner came out and greeted us. He was very mindful and made sure I was aware of a step behind so I wouldn’t fall.

2022-03-28We visited this location for brunch. Reservations were made for a group of 12. Upon arrival the restaurant was very busy. It didnt appear that our reservation was being taken into consideration. The wait was over half an hour. We were able to sit after a few reminders that we had reservations. The food was delicious.*Side note: I left my reading glasses and immediately contacted them upon arriving home. I was told that they dont have a lost and found !

2022-03-05Me and my Bf went for brunch the red velvet pancakes are amazing the bacon was a little dry. On the brunch menu it’s $25 for unlimited mimosas but the menu didn’t say it was $25 for each person. Next on my bill they added 18% gratuity when on the menu it says 18% gratuity is added to the bill for parties of four only. Also while eating a 4 legged creepy crawler same out from behind the couch. The bathrooms were super clean. Over all I give my experience 3.5

2022-04-29I was expecting something skimpier,, but delighted to get a great, hearty brunch meal. Easter Sunday brunch: a demanding service time for restaurants, but they were gracious and allowed me to relax and take my time. Terrific people-watching.
