Chop Chop in other cities:
Chop Chop is a godsend! The food is delicious -- as someone who is Celiac (gluten free) and keeps kosher, I appreciate tremendously the variety of delicious kosher and gluten free foods available on Chop Chops menu! The owner, Matthew, and his staff are very friendly and courteous and a pleasure to work with! My community really appreciates his willingness to make group deliveries outside of the Bronx. Amazing service and delicious food -- I order from Chop Chop every chance I get and would highly recommend it to anyone!
I’ve ordered from Chop Chop several times now, and it’s always outstanding. This is the best restaurant I’ve tried in the Heights, and maybe in New York. The beef udon, crispy beef, pastrami egg rolls, and beef dumplings are unbelievable. This is always the place I order from when I want a real treat or to celebrate something.
I often take my friends to this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I visit this place often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The meals are fantastic and the crew is very friendly and cooperative. always when we go to this place we enjoy a gorgeous evening. I warmly recommend this restaurant.
The takeout service was quick, but the General Tsos chicken was breaded and soggy, when it should have been lightly floured and crispy!Ther fried rice was basically white rice doused in soy sauce. And the Garlic Sauce used in the Broccoli & Garlic Sauce dinner was watery and overpriced for what you get.Oh, and the neighborhood is a Ghetto. Dont go after dark.I find that Kosher Chinese restaurants are not as authentic a Chinese cuisine as Halal Chinese restaurants. Which is too bad because Im Jewish!
I have been there before tonight and enjoyed it. However, tonight I had vegetable pad thai and it was so spicy that I couldnt eat it. The menu didnt say it was spicy. Either they made a mistake or they should note it on the menu. No, I didnt say anything to them. Maybe I should have.
Never again will I order from this restaurant. Because they messed up my order, I was accused of trying to get free food for asking that the correct order be sent. The man with whom I spoke flat out accused me of trying to take advantage of them for (rightfully) wanting the correct order, as if I were a thief. Grubhub included this place within delivery range of my apartment, and apparently it is not, so the restaurant tried to charge me additional money that I never agreed to. Had I known I was out of range, I wouldn’t have ordered. Sushi was overpriced and mediocre at best. The steamed dumplings were flavorless.
Don’t get me wrong, the food is good by Chinese take out standards but damn they are cheap people. For the price you pay you could at least get a little more damn rice.Another thing. Usually the dumplings are good but sometimes it’s like they microwave them. They can be total mush which can be a little off putting
Chop chop sushi is delicious and Matthew is amazing. He knows his frequent customers by name and treats them like family.I have several allergies and can’t eat in any of the other restaurants in the area. I couldn’t have much from the menu but Matthew took note of all of my allergies and made me something I could eat. Instead of serving it in the traditional disposable containers, he plated it in a fancy way with edible flowers to make me feel special.Great option for people with gluten intolerance!Thank you Matthew!
I ordered the first time and never received my food. I decided to give them a second chance and so two hours later I never received my food. I called them twice; the first time they said it was being delivered, the second time they said they delivered my food already and had tried calling me three times. I never got a call or a single sound on my door buzzer. Absolutely useless. Hungry and disgruntled. Never ordering from here again.
Its across the street from my job so of course I came here out of curiosity and proximity. The woman at the register is surly and has awful customer service skills. That wouldnt be so bad if the food wasnt so bland. My Emerald Tofu dish literally tasted like someone steamed fresh tofu and veggies and put them on a bed of rice. There was none of the telltale CHinese flavorings like garlic, soy, ginger or pepper. The brown sauce on top indicated that some sort of gravy was there but it was flavorless as well.Itll get rave reviews because...ITS KOSHER!!!! But dig deeper and there are really no other positive comments above and beyond that.I wont be back
This has got to be my favorite Chinese place in Washington Heights. The food is fresh and good. the service can sometimes be off but I think it has more to do with cultural differences than anything else. Its just a little hide-away thats a favorite for locals who know about it.
Went there on a holiday. University was closed. Dont mind paying extra for good food but was very disappointed especially after reading the reviews from other people. Sesame chicken was hard. Chicken wings stale. Lo mein was ok. Feel like I was served leftovers that the regulars didnt buy. Will not be returning
Chop Chop is Washington Heights Chinese Kosher (Meat) place. Owner & waitstaff are very friendly. The food is exactly what youd expect, though it can be on the pricier side for several items, primarily the main dishes and the Chefs specials in particular, though they are tasty. Nevertheless, you can still find a good deal in certain dishes such as the Lo Mein or Pad Thai. Not a particular fan of the soups as they are all far too syrupy. If youre a sushi enthusiast, they have that too.

Delicious food, truly a shining example of kosher Chinese- delectable Asian flavors with your classic American twist and takeI got the chicken lo mein, a classicGeneral tso’s beef- was crispy and tasty and not overly sweet wich was a nice surpriseFried chicken wings- cooked perfectly with a nice textureOverall I highly recommend this place and am looking forward to coming back
I was at the hospital at columbia a year ago and made an order and boy let me tell everything was wrong about that order...heard they upgraded and changed their chef ,so I took another shot.....OH MY GOOOOOSHH THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!I called back twice to make sure it was the same kosher chop chop....Quick delivery omg forget the delivery...couldnt believe they were kosher it was so goodBelieve me when I tell you Im picky...I just had to write this review it was so good
Just order delivery for Christmas Day guests and everyone agreed that it was the worst Chinese and Japanese food ever. The take out Chinese place on West 181st Street delivers food that’s a thousand times better for less money. Will never order from Chop Chop again. AWFUL!!!

2021-10-10After so much fake promotions on Facebook drove half hours or more from upper East side ordered three Small dishes from Menu but charged for large asking for copy of take out menus there was none. Only a sit down menu . On line menus posted is not what you get charged for. Asked the girl sitting playing w her phone if chopstick and it paper plates are in package food she nodded . Could care more for her gesture. As far as the taste of food the chicken w / mixed vegetables and chicken with nuts were tasteless. Sesame chicken so sugary unbearable . Rice Under cook and very little. Still prefer the Chinese on 34 th street in NYC . Would I go back most probably no .

2021-11-08Really good sesame chicken. Stay away from Szechuan beef dish. Meat has no flavor and they put like no beef, it’s all veggies. $17 for veggies? Seems kinda steep. The fried rice is below average. Like they gotta step it up big time.

2020-10-29Absolutely loved it! Best kosher Chinese food hands down. The Hot and Sour soup was amazing. I suggest you to try something other than the chicken/beef w/ broccoli. Just because there are things on that menu exploding with flavor. Next time Im around Im gonna try the Singapore style Mei Fun. These guys steam their veggies as oppose to boiling and making a soggy mess. Awesome food. Cant wait to come back

2022-02-01Definitely the best kosher fast food and Chinese restaurant in NYC. Matthew and his team are friendly and helpful. They gave me excellent suggestions when I told them what I like to eat. The Steamed Vegetable Dumplings were fantastic the Chicken Dim Sum were also delicious. The coup de grace was when I asked to have the chicken choppers made extra spicy they used these incredible Thai chilies that felt spicier than any Jalapeño or Serrano pepper I have tasted! Two thumbs up for My Wife and I

2021-11-07I ordered chicken/eggplant over brown rice extra large as well beef Lo mein large. Food was tasty and flavorful overall. Born and raised in Washington heights this is the most I’ve paid for Chinese food in the area by far. Look forward to trying the sushi.

2022-03-20The food is okay, very expensive, when I asked for an extra sauce I had to barter with a passive aggressive worker in order to get it and that was after they already messed up my order.

2021-12-06In short they ghosted my family for dinner after confirming delivery and left us with no food at 7pm.They were going to a delivery to DC and I was excited to try. Before Shabbat, my wife texted them an order as requested by their flyer. She received a text back confirmed and then motzei shabbat a text with the pickup locations (see photos). They arrived at the pickup location 20+ minutes late. When they arrived, they didnt have an organized way of determining whos food was whos. They had ticket Numbers but not everyone had one. Eventually 3-4 different people still didnt have their orders. They then asked if we got a call, none of us had - they said sorry, we had so many orders we only brought the ones we called. This was never stated in any of their advertisements. They shouldnt have said confirmed if it wasnt confirmed. And if they were canceling orders, they could have had the decency to inform people sooner than 30 minutes AFTER pickup. No one should use them for delivery until they adopt a modern ordering system like Toast so they cant just say oups.Ive never given a one star rating before but Id give them zero stars if it was possible.
