Citarella Gourmet Market - Southampton in other cities:
Everything I got was great and fresh and every employee was extremely helpful from the butcher who assisted picking out two steaks of sword fish to Britney, who helped me decide on what kind of pie to buy, key lime, which had a great crust. Their selection was small, but for a store its size it had a lot. My only draw back was the prices but they seemed on par with the level of quality and service. High prices seem to be a reoccurring thing in the Hamptons for this visitor. If you are looking for high end groceries this is the place to visit.
The place is too expensive! I bought a lunch, which was rice, roasted vegetables(little), and three small pieces of chicken, the price $20,51 unbelievable!! I never paid for lunch that price! If you need to get lunch, don’t go there, unless you don’t care about money…
Love the store - but I purchased prepared eggplant parmigiana and there were no direction for reheating or cooking. Called and was told that microwaving 3 minutes or in the oven 5 minutes would work. Used the oven and 7 minutes was definitely not enough. The dish was cold! I dont want anyone in my family to have digestive illnesses at this difficult time - and the cooking/heating directions are very important-- Citarella needs to ensure that directions are put on each item and that customer service gives the correct information.
Absolutely love this place. The salad bar is fantastic, the fried chicken is the best in the area by far, great seafood, best oyster selection, fantastic desserts, pizza, sushi, soups, breads, breakfast/sandwiches made to order, cheeses, lots of gourmet pre-prepared dinner items. Also great for kids, everyone gets what they want, and they have a great eat-in dining area. You will love it too.
This place is amazing! Beautiful gourmet market with food everywhere you look. They have prepacked salads and sandwiches, they have hot pizza and sandwiches. They have a huge food bar with everything from pasta salad, rice balls, brussel sprouts and chicken dishes. Plus regular everyday groceries and fruit. And a beautiful desert selection. Highly recommend!!
Youre probably familiar with this place if you live in, or ever visited Southampton. Every town needs grocery stores, and this one is up there in terms of quality. The selection is very wide, and the quality of goods is also likewise, high. Its pretty honestly, straightforward and doesnt need reviewing on Google.
This is an outstanding grocery store/food market and a great place to stop for a quick lunch that wont break the bank if you come to town with the kids. There is something for everyone and the prepared food is really fresh and delicious. I live in Shelter and would kill to have a Citarella on the island. Its also a great place to go to get a beautiful bouquet at a good price for a hostess gift. Everything is high quality, fresh and youd be hard pressed to come up with any food item thats not stocked on the shelves.
Although I am a local this was my first trip & I was very pleasantly surprised! Normally supermarkets are not staffed with the friendliest (or most helpful) people, but Citarellas is the exception! Yes, they are a bit expensive, but Id rather spend a little more if Im going to get better service & fresher food! Ive got ZERO complaints!!
I shop regularly at my hometown Citarella in Greenwich, CT but when summering in Southampton, I buy all my meat and fish here. They have the highest quality meat and fish available. The made to order pizza also is madewith the finest ingredients available and is amazing. The only drawback to shopping during the summer months is the long lines and wait time when checking out. Highly recommend!
The food selection is great but the staff is incompetent. Service is horrible. I walked in at 610 pm and was there for the salad bar. There were no ladles at all. There was no way to serve yourself. I had to ask for it. Also the staff is non English speaking. They are talking amongst themselves in Spanish.
The creme de la creme gourmet market. From seafood to prime meats, from vegetables to fruits, from dairy to pastries. Outstanding products. The flower assortment is from Dutch Petals, beautiful. Great gift ideas. Helpful and friendly service. The atmosphere has a great vibe.
Citarella is an upscale supermarket. If you are in Southampton and looking for different lunch choices, this place may be a good option for you. They offer hot and cold lunch and even have staff on the premise who also make sushi, pizza and can make anything on the grill. Located right in the town, parking in the summer is tough.
Yo, I gotta be real with you. This Mediterranean salad is straight up so good that even tho I hate olives I’m even eating the olives. Like, yeah the prices are more than some other grocers but you get what you pay for and this is like a God of a salad. If you want a baller salad definitely head to citarella. Fresh ingredients and Dynamo taste 10/10
This place puts the word Super in the food market. Citarellas is a foodie paradise. As you enter, your senses are pleasantly overcome by the fresh floral scents and merges quickly to the wafting of baked goods and home cooking aromas. Which way to go first doesnt matter as you as it is highly doubtful you will do an about-face. There are a well-stocked meat and fish counter, fresh vegetables and fruits as well as tempting pre-made dishes and cooking stations where you can get a hot breakfast, lunch or dinner including pizza! And dont forget the bread and cheeses! There is something here for everyone to enjoy!
Those guys are ripoff....be aware! From selling expired burrata cheese ( Exp.date hidden by their own label ) several times, rancid French ham, .....I just realized later.Today the fishmonger gave me 1/2 Lb lump crab meat for the price of 1 Lb!I drive all the way from WHB and back......waste
When it comes to gourmet markets, owner Joe Gurrera knows his stuff. One of the best fresh seafood selections in the Hamptons, prepared foods change with the season, hot soups, sandwiches, gourmet grocery items, fresh produce, quality meats and a great spot to stop pick up a copy of Dans Papers and have a coffee. If you are a foodie like me, shopping here is like being a kid in a candy store. Not inexpensive mind you but worth the trip.
I have worked for Citarella for three consecutive summers 2014-2016 and I loved it. I was a great employee there since I was reviewed by customers and coworkers of my great customer service skills and was too often times complimented. In August 2015 I was given my weekly cheque of 500+USD which I deposited to my bank account and it was after I went back to Jamaica at the end of that summer 2015, that I got a letter from the BOA to say that the cheque was bounced and they returned it to my employer. Ever since Ive been contacting both Citarella and the BOA re the issue of the cheque. Ive been told by my manager at Citarella to contact their HR and ADP who deals with their finances and I have been doing so for one full year and more, only to be told by HR that ADP said the cheque was paid. After numerous visits to the BOA Ive gathered all the necessary and even unnessary documents to prove that the money was deducted from my account but all Citarella says is that the money was already paid and thats their bottom line. I am really really in need of the money owed to me because I have some debts I still have to clear and the mere fact that I need some of it and even more for school. I have taken this route because I think Citarellas HR, deletes my emails without responding or direct my email address to spam because of my million emails and calls and I refuse to let this money die and I end up losing. I hope HR or someone who can help me get my money see this review and analyze this matter. I need my long over due money. I really do!

2022-02-07A select food market with all quality items, packaged and ready to go order as well as supermarket items. Fish and seafood is quite good compared to others in the 10 mile radius.

2022-07-17Very centric location, small but has almost everything you need to eat or drink and other brands that you usually don’t find in other stores. A hit pricey, but everything I eat there is always delicious. The pizza was amazingly good.

2022-07-06Excellent selection of produce, meats and fish. Also pre-prepared lunches are really good. Sandwiches, wraps, sushi, hot food bar...all worth a stop. Ive been to several Citarellas on Long Island and the Southampton and Babylon stores are the best of the bunch. Make a stop at any Citeraella if you can

2022-05-01Missing prices on so many items. I am sure it is against the law to not price items; bakery goods for instance, no prices and no signs. They should be reported to the authorities. And, there are no olives anymore for sale (they used to have greek olives, peppercini and such); no whitefish salad only a spread filled with mayo; no smoked whitefish; no ability to get 1/4 lb of a deli item (rather than 1/2 lb); so if you want 1/4 lb of tunasalad lots of luck. The store has declined unfortunately.

2019-09-09We came here to find a healthy dinner for the night and we weren’t disappointed. Great salad bar and sushi selection. Would be nice to offer gluten free soy sauce. Beautiful cakes, pastries, breads and pizzas.

2022-01-20Aside from the cumbersome aisles that cordon you to their registers, this is the Valhalla of Long Islands Cutarella stores. Coffee Bar, Hot Bar returned after Covidded times, huge meat, vegetable, pastry variety and selection all with a decent priced cup of coffee, front &back parking with dual entrance/exits. The Best, but youre going to pay for it, of course. Especially,. when you MUST visit a cash register!

2021-10-14Always great stuff! Wish more of the product prices were labeled more clearly or somehow made easier to see to help make mydecisions. My favorite there is the fish Dept. Selection is great & fresh and the staff is very helpful and courteous.
