We loved our experience at Bateaux. I have tried several different cruises in the city and found it spotless. It is certainly a must, especially for those who want to do something special, as the experience mixes a more refined meal with a tour of the city’s iconic spots. All in a light and comfortable way without crowds. My mother was with us and it was her first cruise and she just loved it: she said this cruise was worth the entire trip.
Not cheap by any means, but absolutely phenomenal. Took this cruise for my girlfriends birthday (taking advantage of the Romantic Dinner for 2 option and their Cyber Monday discount) and couldnt be more satisfied. The staff provided roses, a bottle of Jean-Louis Champagne, and 2 keepsake champagne flutes.Despite the cold and the rain, the experience was amazing. It provided breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and landmarks. Our waiter Joshua was friendly and attentive, the live band was a cool mix of holiday and modern tunes, and the food was exceptional. I had the duck pastrami, short rib, and butter cake, all 3 of which I highly recommend. Came hungry, left very happy. I will definitely return here one day for another trip.
Reason for the 5 🌟, the Service, The Food, and the Drinks was exceptional. The table setting was nice, it look a nice restaurant but the boat itself was nothing to be impress about, the boat entrance does. Its different from the rest of the cruise around that pier. Went for a Sunday Brunch and didnt like the fact that the dress code policy was not really enforced. The food is a buffet style some of the things were a bit cold but was very flavorful which was a plus plus. The have a variety of cold and hot things something for every diet I guess. The service was really good and that makes the difference for me. Its only 2hrs wish was more as we did had a great time.Love the drinks although some were a little strong, but they were good.
Loved loved loved this experience! I did a 3 hr cruise and it was the perfect amount of time. The food and drinks were good for the cost. And they had a nice jazz band that played music and had a lounge singer who was pretty good. The views of NY were absolutely amazing and as it gets more beautiful as night falls. Then the captain cruises very close by the Statute of Liberty and makes an announcement so you can go outside and get really nice pictures. Great for date night or night out with family and friends. Also good excuse to get dressed up.
Delicious food perfect for intimate dates. The place was very easy to find, staff was very welcoming and gave very good service. The Mimosa kept flowing never stopped. Food was so delicious and good variety. Because it’s covered we were able to actually enjoy. It wasn’t cold but it was extremely windy if not for the indoor everything would’ve been flying.
The ultimate dinner cruise. We enjoyed a great reasonably priced wine list with great food to match. Amazing scenic views as we went down the Hudson and up the east River. Lady Liberty was the highlight of the evening. Oh! And great cup of coffee to finish. Friendly attentive service. We will go again
This was by far the best experience I had while visiting New York. On this particular evening I just happened to be dining alone for the dinner cruise since my girlfriends werent in town quite yet. I was the only patron on the boat dining alone, and I preach to you that it didnt feel that way for even one moment. The staff of the Bateaux went out of their way to make my experience truly one of a kind.Im not sure if they spoke to one another to be extra attentive to my needs but I felt like a VIP movie star. Everyone was so gracious and welcoming including the other patrons on the cruise. Everyone was having such a wonderful time. The cruise was at full capacity and people are constantly up and out of their seats to experience the outside deck. I received the VIP treatment and got to experience the upper deck and captains quarters! The captain (pictured) was a true Gentlemans gentleman. The food was 5 star along with the drinks and the views were AMAZING😍🗽This first time I ever saw the Statue of liberty and New York skyline was lit up on a 5 star cruise, drinking champagne and eating food to die for! The Butter cake is good enough alone to go back...🤗🤤I even made a few new friends! Thank you to the Bateaux and its truly exceptional staff for making this night so special for me. I will be back.
It was our Holiday office party & there were 32 of us. Each and everyone was WOWED. You barely felt the boat move. The staff was exceptional & went over the top, waited a few minutes to leave in order to wait for the last 2 people in our group. The food was actually good. The mimosas never stopped. The live music just right. It really was a perfect Sunday Afternoon. Thank you very much Bateaux New York.
Incredible views with opportunities to not miss anything since they make sure to turn around for everyone to get an espectacular moment to take it all in..Amazing experience, staff was incredible, courteous, welcoming, going above and beyond making sure any need and request was met above expectations! They absolutely make you feel special from the moment you are boarding! Planning my next visit already!! Great music, singers and band were great, easy listening and awesome song choices, my children 16 and 24 as well as us “older folks” loved singing along and enjoyed the sound throughout the entire cruise!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND Bateaux New York, if ever in the City. Seriously, youll be WOWed the whole time. From getting on to the ship the employees were there with smiles, greeting us and helping the ladies safely step onto the ship. We were immediately seat, once given our ticket. AND let me tell you, any seat you are given has an amazing view! It really felt so nice. Our waitess greeted us and told us the get down with how everything works, i believe five minutes in, but it was great cause you need alll that time to take in the beauty around you. Haha. Let me just say service was excellent, our server was funny, knowledgeable and on it. A manager came around twice to check up on us, and thank us for being here so that was really nice. Food!!! From the fresh seafood platter all the way to the melt in your mouth butter cake everything was delicious! The views! The views were to die for! You could be at your seat, or out on the deck, youd still have an equally amazing view! **A MUST SEE IN MY BOOKS** And to top it off, they have live music! And she was very nice to listen too, perfect actually for the mood. This was just an amazing experience, which i highly RECOMMEND. Im sure youll enjoy it as much as I did.
An Absolute great experience... You dont have to shell out more for the window view, since the exteriors are made of glass you can sit down almost anywhere in the ship and enjoy the view. Plus you have access to the deck of the ship (both front and back), better get your snaps taken at the deck before the sun sets! One star lost due to the meager amounts of food provided for the fixed dinner.
A really lovely experience. Would 100% recommend this to anyone who is celebrating something. The staff tender to all your needs. The food was perfect and the music made the night even better. We did the evening cruise and the views were fantastic. You can go outside and take pictures when ever you want. However you dont need to go out side as the view from inside is just as good. Theres not a bad seat on board. 😊
Awesome experience. I’ve lived in NYC my entire life and didn’t even know about this. Mostly everyone on the boat was a tourist visiting from another country.I got taken here for my 30th birthday yesterday and although it started raining halfway through the boat ride, it was still an awesome experience since the view is perfect from the inside because how the boat is designed.Very personal, romantic, and highly recommended. Our server and the manager were awesome, constantly checking on us and making sure we had a drink since we had the Unlimited Drinks package.Music was very relaxing with a live band. Not really dancing music but it was perfect for a night out on the town with beautiful views and good food.A+ experienceJose Rivera
Really well done NYC cruise in the Hudson and slightly up the East River to see the Manhattan skyline and sights of Hoboken/Jersey City on the one side and Brooklyn on the other. I was on for a company event so I dont know the pricing, but the ambiance was great as expected, the food exceeded expectations and the live music on board was an impressive touch. Up close views of Lady Liberty were hard to beat.
The company offers a three-hour dinner cruise on the Hudson, Upper New York Bay, and East River. The two rooms, separated by the dance floor and a small orchestra stand, comfortably sit 300 guests. There are four rows of tables; some guests (about a quarter) have to sit with their backs to the windows, so reserving a window table is a must. The tables are arranged comfortably with plenty of space between them; large windows and spacious deck (accessible at any time) offer gorgeous views. The crew is there when you need them.A competent band (already playing when one boards the ship) starts with instrumental standards, gradually moving on to vocal numbers. The program is well balanced, inoffensive, and aims to please anyone aged 60 and over. Disco dominates, but there are some contemporary numbers as well. Sound levels are reasonable - earplugs not needed; one can even have a conversation. The weakest part of the cruise is, unfortunately, the dinner. The food - as far as I can tell, it is not being prepared on premises; hot dishes are reheated. Though food looks nice on the plate, it is vastly overdone, and lacks any texture or taste. Booze might help - there is a full (cash) bar on the ship. Servers are cheery, courteous, and speak passable English. There is a dress code, but I’ve yet to see anyone wearing a formal evening dress (I’ve been on a cruise a few times entertaining out of town guests); one would blend in wearing collared shirt (with or without a tie), trousers, and dress shoes. Jacket is not required, but strongly recommended for a different reason – A/C is set to Arctic temperatures and is blowing at a gale force. The ship departs on the dot, one must be prompt! If you booked your cruise online (and who didn’t?), please allow extra time (2 to 20 minutes) to exchange reservations for the actual paper tickets at the ticket booth at Pier 61 parking garage. Proper ID required. The cruise is not a sightseeing tour – the landmarks are not announced (except for the Statue of Liberty), so take a guidebook or a knowledgeable native along with you!
Great dinner boat cruise. Its hard to find a boat that servers dinner like a full service restaurant and has a high quality drink menu. The mothers day cruise also had a live piano, singer and a guitar player. The whole ambience made the sailing experience very romantic.
This cruise was absolutely amazing, nothing can take away the beauty that is New York. The food was delicious. Getting to keep the glasses is a plus considering the price of drinks. Service is slow, our waiter was not on top of it, but there was staff that was extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this cruise.
I had a nice time. The food was good, but some of the items were cold before I got to my seat. The restroom was clean but one stall had a busted door. The table and chair set up on the second level was cramped. We passed right in front of the statue of liberty which was awesome even for a cloudy day.
Great experience! Had an amazing 4th of July in the cruise with amazing views of NYC! The boarding process could be improved, as well as enforcing more order in the buffet. Even if the DJ and manager mentioned that the buffet line was organized per table, many families/groups jumped in without waiting their turn.
Came here with a school group and had a lot of fun. The food was delicious, not what I was expecting for a boat buffet. The dancing got extremely hot and humid but still very fun. The crew members were all very nice and helpful. The views were amazing as well. I would definitely recommend this cruise to anyone looking to have a good time.
Took him for his birthday. We are form PA and spend the whole weekend there. He loved it. Two floors of different music. Idk how they arranged for people to get their food. We were last. The food was better than I thought it would be. The drinks were delicious. The captain pointed out the infamous statues and monuments while cruising in the harbor. Overall it was very good. I would recommend it at least once.
We booked the Dinner cruise as a special meal for my wifes Birthday.. it was fantastic... we travelled from the U.K and I was looking for something special..and we found it the attention from the staff, the food the ambience was all really special we took away memories we will never forget thank you.
While we enjoyed this cruise it wasnt a patch on the one we had last year in Paris. There was a mix up with our booking - wed paid for a drinks package but they didnt have details so what should have been a lovely relaxing drink before setting off turned into a frantic race back to the shore reception for Daz to get paperwork altered. Waiter was kind and gave me complimentary champagne....but it wasnt complementary cos we had paid!!!😡 nice meal but nothing special and of course scenery was wonderful. Lasted 3 hours so made sure got full value of drinks after all the hassle. Even then tho there were still some drinks that you werent allowed!😩
We celebrated our friends 40th Birthday aboard the Bateaux and we had an amazing time! I was so impressed with the staff and our waitress, the food was good and the band played music that anyone can enjoy. We loved seeing the city skyline, but the close up views of the Statue of Liberty were absolutely beautiful. It was one of our best experiences, being able to get all dolled up and celebrate our besties 40th aboard the Bateaux! 2017 Girls Trip to NYC from Texas!
The food was good. The drink prices were ridiculous and the drink itself was watered down! I signed a reciete for 19.50 and gave a cash tip. But for some reason my card was charged 24 dollars. The bathroom had absolutely no ventilation and smelled horrid. Leaving the ship they have warm cookie... that was nice of them...
Gracious hosts excellent service amazing food such friendly staff members they welcome you and interact with you.I was there celebrate my birthday and got a surprised proposal from my boy friend. The staff made such a fabulous fuss over us and made it in to a much more memorable evening.
This was a really entertaining cruise. We were confused why we werent seated at a window when the cruise was barely half full. Then when we and several other guests reseated ourselves, the wait staff was very rude and informed us that we should have asked to move our seats. No we didnt pay for a guaranteed window seat, but I assumed that if window seats were available after all the guaranteed people were seated, we would have that option. The food was marginally good, so dont go hoping for a 5 star cuisine. The best part of the cruise were the guests and the lovely views around the Hudson. I would recommend this cruise for anyone who wants to get water views of NYC, NJ, and the Statue of Liberty.
I have paid $550 for a brunch cruise. We had a party of 5, all vegans. Thank you for offering vegan diet preference on booking, but I wish you would also give at least 40% discount for whoever chooses vegan option, as due to the food we were served I felt the cruise company has saved a lot of money on us as compared to the regular menu. Instead of taking out the cheese from a starter salad (which was actually a bit of green leaves and two piecesof cherrytomatoes), you could simply change it to vegan cheese (there are plenty of them on the market). Main course was delicious, but again - all other guests were served chicken, but we had grilled vegetables. For dessert everyone were served cheesecakes, but for us they had a small fruit plate, and not of the best freshness... also, they didnt even have any kind of plant based milk for coffee!I felt very disappointed that vegans arent still less discriminated. I dont understand what I have paid $110 /person... I would agree to pay $40/person for the cruise by itself, but i wouldnt feel good paying more than $20/person for the three course meal that we were served.
I booked a brunch cruise for 9 people on May 30th, and the attendant Cordell was very pleasant during the booking only to get on board and to be told by the manager that he was short staffed and therefore, could not accommodate us. I understand the staffing shortage as most businesses are dealing with similar issues however, the manager was very rude as if we were asking for a favor when in fact we paid over $1000.00 for the brunch. I hope that the City Cruises will hire more staff and educate its employees on how to be more professional like Cordell.
I took this tour at night 28 March 2018. The first thing that struck me was how unfailingly friendly, helpful and genuine the entire crew were; they could not do enough to make us feel welcome. Our party of five enjoyed the buffet and the bar but the real treat was to follow once we departed; the Manhattan skyline at night! It blew us all away - including the native New Yorkers among us! The length of the trip gave us ample time to revel in the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge and soak up the experience up on deck. This is an absolute must do for any visitor to the Big Apple and I hope to take more family trips later in the year. Thank you to everyone on the Spirit of New York who helped make our night so very special. We will be back, Conor, Ireland.
I took my Boyfriend on the Bateaux dinner cruise for his Birthday (March 2020) and we had a fabulous time! I got the Boarding Photo add on, we were one of the first guest to arrive and the photographer took some lovely photos of us on the deck of the boat with a beautiful sunset in the background. It appears the standard is for the pictures to be taken while youre sitting at your table (she took table pics of us also) and I really appreciate that she offered the deck pics. The food was tasty, especially the butter cake. The music was great, they played a little but of everything. I wish I could remember the servers name because he was excellent and took the attached photo for us. Being so close to The Statue of Liberty was magical. I enjoyed the experience so much that I just booked the 4th of July cruise a few minutes ago!
I was able to do this for my birthday. Its surrounded by glass so you get an amazing view of the city. Its about 2.5 hours and we cruised right in front of the statue of liberty, but there are other itineraries to choose from. Very elegant, with a band playing music. If you are celebrating anything they put a card on your table and they sing for you. The food was ok....not top notch if you are going for the food. The rating are all for the scenery and the elegance of the boat. Staff was very friendly. It could have been a 5 star if the food and dessert was better.
I saved to fly my husband to ny for Father’s Day for this cruise and couldn’t have been more disappointed. Took an hour to order.. literally two hours for our bottle of wine to come only for the waitress to say they were out of what were order she also came at dinner time to advise they were out of the steak we upgraded to we asked if we could pay more to dock or see a manager. It was that upsetting and ruined our entire trip waitress couldn’t care less about the horrible service not worth the cost as what we did eat was cold and small portioned I booked through viator and wish I knew who to contact for a refund as the entire experience was truly the worst dinning experience I have ever had
Ok. I paid for all the High End, First Class stuff.I’d have to admit. For the money I spent? The drinks were absolutely terrible and I had to constantly order a new drink. They were all very cheap tasting and sweet.Champagne, wine, rose? Absolutely too too sweet.Food was good, but not what I expected for the price. Perhaps if the vegetables were fresher I’d be happy with the whole experience. The views and boat itself was completely incredible. No complaints on that. Staff were on point, and music was lovely.I just wish the food and drinks were of High Class as I’d expect. With that being said. I’m never going to pay for a Dinner/Food cruise in NYC again.
The Spirit of New York is a great Cruise to relax, have fun, take great photos by New York City landmarks, eat good food and dance it all off. The more than friendly staff provides excellent service and the food is delicious. Order drinks at the bar and head to the dance floor because the DJ is great and what better Ambiance than the New York City skyline and the Hudson River.
This boat was beautiful and the service was amazing. The staff was very helpful and did everything that they possibly could to make the night special. I got proposed to on this dinner cruise and you could tell that the staff genuinely went out of their way to make the whole event perfect. I would recommend this dinner cruise for anyone who wants to be in a romantic intimate setting.I would definitely attend this dinner cruise again!
I went last week and had an amazing time very welcoming and attentive staff, live music was great, the views of the Manhattan was awesome. The menu could’ve had more options but the food was still great. Had an amazing time. I appreciated the photographers being attentive and setting up surroundings to create a great photo of the experience. It was worth every penny.
If I could leave 6 stars I would! If you are celebrating a special occasion, look no further. The entire experience was worth every penny. I called in advanced to inform the crew I planned to propose while on the cruise and they went above and beyond. The photographer Kate was awesome, the romance package was great and the food was delicious. Seeing the city lights at night was a wonderful site to see.
The views were spectacular, the food was excellent, and the wait staff were courteous and attentive. The talented live band set the mood on our dinner cruise. Reserving a window table was definitely worth it. The boat itself was spotless and fitted with high end finishes and fixtures. The tour route gave ample opportunity for well framed photos with New York landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty.
I absolutely loved this cruise experience! My friend surprised me with tickets, and I was astonished. We are both college students, so we dont have much money, so to go on what appeared as a luxury cruise with a four course meal was incredible. I definitely recommend!
Great service..early admission onto boat for the Bottomless mimosa brunch cruise December 9, 2018. 5 starsReturned on 12-30-18 for the Jingle Bells cruise. It was ok until the coffee- first a stained cup and then one with a huge crack. The manager apologized and offered another cup, which I declined. Minutes later, the server decided to place another cup of coffee near me anyway. I did not drink it. Although I was once an avid lunch and brunch cruiser, as I was planning a February 1, 2019 dinner cruise. I have changed my mind. I will not support nor engage others in supporting Spirit of New York in the future. 3 stars
The entire experience was amazing! The staff and crew went above and beyond to make my birthday celebration the best one possible. There were so many highlights of the night but the greatest one of all was the captain allowing me and my guest to go up to the captain deck and enjoy a private view of the river. The event manager was so perceptive and detail oriented, and the wait staff were on point, I hardly ever had to ask for anything. They were always there and happy to get anything I needed or asked for. During the dessert course, our waitress brought out a slice of cheesecake with a candle and the event manager presented me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, all at no extra cost. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Bateaux New York Dinner Cruise. It is an experience I would not only try again, but would also highly recommend to others as well.
I highly recommend the Bateaux-5 Stars. The team at the Bateaux is the BEST I have ever encountered. My family was celebrating my moms 80th Birthday. The food was incredible and the service was like I have never experienced. Every single person was making sure that the whole experience was the BEST!!! My mom could not stop talking about her birthday and was treated like a Queen.
Had the opportunity to dine on your boat with my girlfriend on Saturday night for the first time. It was FANTASTIC..!!! I want to give it a full 5 Stars but serving dessert as we dock was odd. That was a huge minus, the ice cream was very soupy. Ive dined on the glass-top in Chicago and it wasnt like this, Otherwise, the food was great. The singer was really good, she took my wifes request and that was very nice. Our waiter was TEEJAY He was super funny and engaging we took his advice and were thoroughly pleased. All in all I highly recommend everyone take a trip with you.
It was the best luxury dinner cruise I ever went to. The service, the food, the cruise, the staff, the view; EVERYTHING was great! And yes, buying the window seat and unlimited cocktail package is DEF worth it!It cost us about $1000 roughly and you might say its crazy but trust me, it was best experience ever! Save the money and go!
The cruise comes nothing short of a beautiful time and ambiance. I enjoyed the view of the New York skyline as I was on this dinner cruise for my fiances birthday. The food was great and everything else was amazing. The singer of the night definitely did her thing and had everyone up dancing and singing along. Overall, everyone should get a chance to partake in on such a wonderful time.
Super worth it, great views, excellent service. Someone got engaged on the dinner we had!Food is delicious. I would opt in for the wagyu steak in the future, too. Its a great deal even though its an additional $50, but you get a 16 ounce steak.Excellent for celebrating something - nearly everyone on board had an event. Ours was a birthday, with a romance package included.Would definitely do this again!
Highly recommend this fabulous cruise! It was the best way to see NY! 6 of us for Saturday lunch cruise on a sunny day in May. The food is delicious and the staff are so very nice and treat you like a queen! Seeing the views and the river activity was exciting and relaxing at the same time. Worth every penny and more!
Amazing dinner cruise especially at night you get to see the best of New York on the Hudson river and one of New York finest trademark the Statue of Liberty up close and personal with live music, delicious meals, and some wonderful choices of wines. A little princely, but worth every penny and the service is excellent. A great way to celebrate anniversary, birthday, or just trying to impress her.
From beginning to end, this was a fantastic dinner cruise. Ticketing and boarding were fast and right on-time. The interior of the ship is very nice as was our linen covered table right next to the window. The service was great, the food and drinks outstanding, and the four piece band was excellent. Add-in the beautiful sights of the NYC skyline and you have a wonderful, romantic evening.
We had our holiday work party aboard the Bateaux. From planning the event to the actual dinner and cruise itself, the experience was outstanding. We dealt with Jack for the planning and he was so patient as we nailed down our numbers. The food was amazing and the band was fun. I hope to make this a yearly tradition for our office holiday party.
Service was quick, the staff was very friendly & professional, & the cuisine and drinks were top notch! My favorite part was seeing the Statue of Liberty up close from a lovely candlelit view! I was there with my husband for my birthday & I will definitely recommend to others!
Great night on Bateaux New York. Made mt mother in laws Christmas Eve. Fantastic music from the Sterling Band. Food was yummy. Awesome view of the Statue of Liberty and so many sights. Our waitress Lewis was tremendous. Couldnt have asked for a better evening thanks to #365ticketsUSA. Best recommendation.
I had an amazing experience celebrating my anniversary last night - we went on the celestial, theyre long glass enclosed boat, for a dinner cruise and it was phenomenal. The food was delicious and fresh, every course felt like high quality, and the pacing was nice, about one course each hour. The cruise was lovely, getting to see all the way up to midtown on the west side, going underneath the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges on the east side, and an extended stay at the statue of liberty.Service was also great and it was clear staff cared deeply about your experience. You could also at any time walk outside on either end of the boat to check out the view and atmosphere. The only reason Im not giving a full 5 stars is that I felt the price was somewhat too high. We paid a little less than $200 each, for a total of $400, which personally felt about $100 too much for the value. Alcoholic drinks were not included - they wouldve been for an additional $65, which we ended up paying anyway for about 4 drinks total.
Went on a Skyline Dinner Cruise for a 1 year anniversary. The staff was incredibly friendly, the food was phenomenal (granted there were not many dishes to choose from) and the views were gorgeous. Would highly recommend one of the night time cruises, especially in the spring/summer as it was quite chilly when I went in October.
Band was good. Boat was smooth and the views were amazing. I proposed that night under the bridge and when our waitress found out she brought us champagne and rose petals and had the band make an announcement. She wished I gave her a heads up beforehand but she did everything to make our night much more memorable. It is expensive but worth it. I had the fish and lobster bisque. Both were very good.
The absolute best cruise ever! I surprised my fiancé with a birthday cruise. I paid for all of the extras (bottle of champagne, window seat, half dozen roses, and a souvenir toasting flutes) and I dont regret it at all! They did not let me down. The staff treated us like royalty! My fiancé was told happy birthday by every crew member and they called him by his name. Our server was fantastic, he was also our photographer ;) The food was out of this world, it was better than food we tasted anywhere else and that almost seems hard to beat! The live music was wonderful, it was classy but at the same time it was music we hear nowadays with a twist. The ship was so clean and well-kept, and the bathrooms were exceptional. Absolutely amazing experience, and couldnt have been more perfect of a night.. this was our favorite part of our 1-week New York trip!
My husband and I got married on the Bateaux New York boat. We had the most amazing customer experience I have ever had in my entire life! When you go to your tasting, they make you feel like royalty. The food is outstanding and the drinks are to die for. The live band is incredible!During the planning process and day of, Devin and Bryan were essential to everything going perfectly. They overdelivered!! They were so kind and they made sure that the evening was everything I could have ever dreamed of.Everyone raved about the romantic atmosphere, enticing appetizers (BRAISED BEEF SHORT RIB was the crowd favorite), and outstanding NYC skyline views. We are so thankful that we chose Bateaux NY for our wedding. It was an original experience that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. If you are looking to have the most amazing wedding ever, you should definitely book with Bateaux NY!
We had a corporate party on this yacht. There was not one part of this whole process that wasnt just perfect. The initial contract signing was seamless. Jack & Devin were accommodating and so easy to work with. The crew on board were super friendly and professional. Food and drinks were fantastic. Cassandra went above and beyond for us. I would highly recommend using them if you are looking to do something fun with your friends, co workers or family. Everyone had a great time.
This was second time on this dinner cruise in 8 months and both times the food, entertainment and ambience was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and we so enjoyed being able to go outside and take photos of lower Manhattan as the sun went down. I would high recommend this cruise to anyone. Yes, its pricey.. but totally worth it!
We were on the evening cruise last night. The service was terrible. Took over an hour to get a drink after boarding. Dinner was served at almost 10pm. We were starving at this point. Dessert at 10:30. Ridiculous! We were looking forward to this cruise since we had taken it a few years ago and it was fabulous. We were so disappointed. I responded to their email survey this morning. I have not yet had a response.
Omg!!!! Me and my boyfriend had the best time of our life on this cruise. Was celebrating my birthday and I wouldn’t ask for any better way to celebrate it.The aroma was great and the food was delicious. Oh gosh not forgetting the view...it’s gorgeous and to top it off there was fire works. All in all I can say We had a great experience and a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this cruise.
Going into this dinner cruise I didn’t have high expectations because it seemed like a “tourist trap”. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience and the food that was served. Our waiter TJ was full of energy and great information was we sailed around the city.I had the tuna tartare for appetizer and the Cod for a main course which were both delicious. The rest of the party had short rib for there mains and it was very flavorful.Desert wise I had the signature warm butter cake which in my option the only negative of my meal.Overall the food was great and a good complement to the amazing views you will get of parts of Jersey, Manhattan, and Brooklyn.
Our cruise was on July 6 for lunch. It was a terrible experience we ever had on a lunch cruise. The boarding process went quite well and once we started sailing we started to feel hot and realized that the air conditioning wasnt working normal. We informed to the manager but guess what she already knew that the air conditioning was broken. So on one side of the cruise it was normal and on the other side where we sat it was terrible almost every single guest was sweating so badly that they used menu cards to blow air and dry themselves. The so called LUXURY CRUISE ended up being sweaty. Then they realized its going out of control and handed over little fans to help us out and guess what a table of two will only get one fan because they are stingy. When it comes to the food the salad served as an appetizer was gone bad. All the spring mix leaves were spoiled in my salad. The chicken breast we got served was quarter of the breast so it looked like a sparrow breast instead of chicken. So little and very dry but the sauce was good. Overall I wouldnt recommend this trip to anyone. Waste of money.
Worth the money if you are pondering over the cost. Music was excellent. No urban/hip hop, its all smooth/jazzy music which is easy to listen to as you have your dinner. Food was amazing. The beef just falls off your fork! Best views you could have of new york at night and to get all your photos. Staff served well and were not too pushy. This is a highlight if you visit new york
Amazing experience that is expensive but well worth every penny. From the service, skyline scenery, atmosphere, live jazz music, and most importantly, the food and drinks, I loved all of it and had the best night out in New York on this cruise! If youre looking for a classy, romantic date night, Bateaux is sure to impress. I would love to come back to NY and do this again
Ive had the pleasure of being on the Celestial twice in my life. Once for my mothers 70th birthday and the second time I got engaged. This boat is magical and everyone onboard makes sure you have an amazing experience. We loved it. The food is superb and the staff is attentive without being intrusive. The entertainment is great, present without being too loud. The views are amazing in any weather. Its so worth it!! Dont hesitate to book this.
Food was good. Service not so good.Head waitress was friendly but the rest of the wait staff didn’t smile or seem to want to be there.Took almost an hour to get a drink. Our group of 6 received our meals at separate times. Soup was warm. Had to ask for bread and water.
Not sure why Bateaux New York has such a low score because I just went last night with my boyfriend and we both agreed it was the BEST date night weve ever had! The food is AMAZING and even though I first ordered something that I didnt like, the waiter had no problem getting me another dish that I absolutely loved! You cant beat the scenery and the extremely romantic environment. Theres a live band, where you can get up and dance throughout the night. We got a chance to take pictures outside as well and witnessed 3 proposals in 1 night. Overall, I honestly cannot complain about a single thing. The experience is AMAZING and I would 100% recommend this cruise to EVERYONE!!!!!
I definitely have to say that this experience was awesome. Great service, clean atmosphere and wondeful food. The food portions are small but trust me after dessert you will be stuff. The views the brooklyn bridge looking at the Statue of liberty. It truly gives you a glimpse into NY and how beautiful it is. Stellar moment epic time.
Very over rated and expensive. Was a nice time on the water for the views. Since we were with a large party we had a good time. The food was okay. Nothing special. Live music was an elderly lady singing and dancing by herself. You pay for the environment. And the drinks were ridiculously expensive and weak. I recommend a party boat instead, with better music and dance area.
We took a sunset cruise while on our honeymoon last week, it exceeded our expectations! Fantastic service and attention to detail, delicious food and amazing views from the East River! We particularly enjoyed the close encounter with lady liberty and the pictures we got of the brooklyn bridge lit up. Thank you for a perfect evening!
Planned this event for my co-workers & I and it was lovely. Ashley really assisted with paying attention to detail and made it a night to truly remember. I highly recommend this for any company event. Perfect amount of time, rain or shine, delicious food & cocktails & the views were truly memorable.
Exceptional in every way. Perfect place to celebrate life, or something special that comes up during it. The boat is impeccable with updated baths and stunning views from every table. They run the ship like a fine cruise from start to finish. The Trio that performs adds to the ambiance of the evening, but nothing can compare to the New York City skyline. The food was top notch, as was the service and photographer. Reservations for our larger group were made in a more than professional manner by Jack Doyle. Truly this is a place where memories are made.
My fiancée and I were celebatring our engagement and this was the absolute best idea I could have thought, best experience ever! Beautiful sightseeing, romantic place, great band, delicious food and wonderful service! Shout out to the waitress that went above and beyond to help us have a wonderful night.
Hands down one of our favorite experiences in NY. We figured that being a dinner on a cruise boat that food would be average at best and that was not the case at all. A few of us had the fillet and lobster and believe it was one of the best we have ever had. Our entire party absolutely loved our meals, the staff was amazing, great boat and atmosphere and it was a phenomenal way to see NYC by water while also having a great dinner/entertainment.Would highly recommend Bateaux to anyone! Our only complaint the whole night was that we were a bit chilly inside for dinner. This is not something we would usually say and considering we went the day after NYC was hit with sweltering heat they were probably just used to cranking their AC on full blast. May recommend bringing a jacket as it was a bit chilly on the boat decks as well.Thank you Bateaux crew for one of our favorite experiences in NYC! :)
What a pleasure trip this was! From the moment we stepped onto the ship, we were treated to a friendly, happy atmosphere, a helpful staff and attention to detail. We were celebrating our anniversary and everyone onboard treated us specially. The food was wonderful, the scenery spectacular and we both enjoyed a magical evening. Thank you, Bateaux.
We had a corporate party on the Manhattan Elite yacht. I would highly recommend this for a team event. Every part of the entire process was perfect! The contract signing was seamless, and the account manager (Vincent) was fantastic! He was there to help me every step of the way with my questions, and was always very responsive. The event coordinator (Lindsay) was the same way. She gave us all kinds of options for the menu and decorations, and really catered to what we wanted. Once on board, the food was fantastic, and the captain and crew - especially Cassandra and Jorge - were outstanding!! The event was a huge success, and everyone had a great time. A+++ !
Beautiful views, had high school groups on and the DJ played a bunch of fun music for us and everyone went to the dance floor and had fun. The food was pretty good but was a variety of random food such as chicken wings and chicken legs and rice or getting tacos with ground beef or green beans. When it is time to eat they bring up table groups one at a time which was super wierd and inconvenient for some people with food shortage, other than that great. The captain announced on the ship when we were arriving at liberty so everyone could go outside and get pictures or videos, they even played empire State of mind by Jay-Z which was amazing and super fun. The table set up was great it surround the ship and never in the middle which gave people enough space to get up, walk around, sit and eat, meet and greet. Definitely would recommend for anyone having a party or school trip or family trip with a large group!
OK, the view from the boat is really nice and even as a New Yorker, the New York skyline will always be something to watch in awe. Other than that, it’s a very touristic crowd gathered in a confined space where food is so-so and the vibe quite cheesy. If it’s your first time in New York and you’ve never been to France, maybe you’ll find the experience worthy. But I wouldn’t recommend it to locals.
Definitely a five star yacht. I attended a holiday party on its board last month. It was a great journey around the New York Harbor. It is a beautiful boat run by very hospitable and efficient people in particular the boss Jose was exceptionally helpful. The food was good and there was always a smile on the crew faces. I highly recommend this place for corporate and family events.
Im a tour operator that plans trips for school performing groups. Last June, I brought 2 band directors, 2 colleagues, and my then girlfriend, Kim, onto the Bateaux as part of a director preview trip for the groups trip to Carnegie Hall. The group cruised on the Spirit of NY last week, but we decided to use the Bateaux for the preview trip as it was an adults only evening. The Bateaux was just absolutely fantastic - everything from the food to the music was top notch. After dinner, Kim and I stepped outside to enjoy the view and we ended up looking at the NY skyline on a gorgeous night alone. The moment was perfect...so perfect that I decided to propose on a whim! I was planning to propose in Italy a month later, but couldnt pass up the opportunity on the Bateaux. I didnt even have the ring on me - it was at home - but she said YES! We enjoyed some time alone outside, but my colleagues found out about the proposal, told the server, and the Bateaux staff made us come inside. They announced our engagement to the entire ship, poured us champagne, and asked the jazz trio to play a piece while we danced. What a perfect night - thank you, Bateaux New York!
NOT VEGAN FRIENDLY. On the website, they state they have vegan options, and also offer that option when making the reservation. Unfortunately, there was NO VEGAN food whatsoever on the boat. We ended up paying only for the “trip”, and a couple drinks. Honestly we felt robbed, and no refund was ever made regarding this issue. We will never book with this company ever again
I celebrated five years of the marriage on what my wife thought was a great idea to spend time and money here. We were poorly mistaken. Reality doesn’t check in until you enter a boat constructed in 1998. If you’re dressing up in a nice suit, prepare for the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect and doesn’t take over until you take your seat. The boiling hot sun heats up the boat. A subway train car has better air conditioning. There are no restrictions on the type of people they will let on the boat, as long as you’re dressed ok. Be prepared to sit next to anyone without borders. Our waitress unfortunately, looked as though she was on the brink of a meltdown. We ordered our food, you only have one choice of food by the way. Very large and vast drink menu. I heard one couple on the table next to us celebrating 45 years of marriage the woman said, “it’s either chicken or you starve”. By the time we got our food, we were sweating so much. Going outside to cool off was not helping. Our cold drinks filled with ice eventually became warm and diluted. The food was delicious and arrived almost in time for the boat to dock into the port. The food almost helped us come down. Pictures were memorable. Staff on the boat was okay. Bathrooms were amazing and something out of a movie. My overall experience was OK. Not great. Don’t celebrate an anniversary here. Maybe a birthday. Maybe go on a date here. I saw one woman sitting alone by herself at a table. Anyway, I hope this review helps.
This is my second time taking part in a dinner cruise aboard the Bateaux. Again my party and I had a good time. Gave it 4 stars because the food wasnt a good as I remembered it previously, but it was still enjoyable and satisfying. They provide good sized portions of food. Providing you have the premium drink add-on, the drinks will continue to flow. The waiter was very accommodating and even brought us Champaign while we were on the outside of the ship. Entertainment was entertaining. Towards the end of the night we got in a few dances. There isnt a lot of room to dance so one must look out for the waiters and waitresses crossing your path. But you can still shake and shimmy while staying aware. Once you have clear weather in sight the ride is even more enjoyable due to you being allowed to go outside either in the front or back of the ship. Bathroom was clean and close (downstairs). Seating was comfortable and outside views were good. The inside became a bit chilly to which my party and I had to go outside a few times to warm up. I pressume this was due to the warm day that was forecasted. So if yourre going to go on a fairly warm day, it is suggested to bring a sweater (ladies) and a jacket (gents). All in all, we all had a good time from beginning to end. I will always keep the Bateaux cruise as a 1st thought when wanting to celebrate a special b-day or event. P.S. There is parking on the grounds. My party and I got there early, due to it being general seating for the ship. Therefore, we paid for parking a bit over the 3 hours the cruise runs for. Maybe about 3.5 hours. It came up to $54. Youre allowed to pay by card. 🙂
When I booked this cruise, it has a vegetarian option that I booked while buying the ticket. When we got there, there was no vegetarian option.. we were told to find vegetarian options from the buffet. Which was basically salad and broccoli. I had also ordered a kids meal for my daughter when I booked the cruise. The only kids item that they brought was macaroni and cheese, which came out cold. Upon request they brought fries which were inedible. They tasted like they had barely been cooked.Secondly, our waitress told us that dessert would be available for the duration of the cruise. When we stopped by the dessert table shortly after dinner, there was no dessert left. We asked a waitress if there would be more coming and she replied that the buffet was closed and no more dessert was available. We never got any dessert. The cruise itself was enjoyable. The boat and atmosphere were nice. But with tickets being around $150 per person, its not worth it. I would not recommend this cruise if you have any dietary restrictions, as they are very unresponsive in that regard. Very overpriced considering the food that they offer.
1. It was freezing cold. Many people asked to be relocated2. Sloooooow and unresponsive service3. Food was served at the end of the trip, we were starving. Dessert was served when we were about to leaveIf you want to enjoy this trip bring something to wear, and dont forget to eat something before boarding
Im giving this experience 4 stars ONLY because its a one of a kind in NYC... Is it a modern boat? No... Is the food worthy of 4 stars? No... Is the open bar worth 4 stars? No! Geriatric band reproducing old hits worthy of 4 stars? No! I paid more than $1400 for 5 of us having a holiday get-together and thats what made it worthwhile... The setting, the experience, mediocre food and slow drinks all in all add up to 4 stars.. Our complimentary greeting champagne was a literally a 1/5 of the glass one tiny Sip... People (customers) sitting behind us attempted TWICE stealing our gifts and my wifes purse too so be careful!
We booked this cruise 2 weeks before our departure to New York. It was to be our last night in NY and the highlight of our trip from the UK. We upgraded to the ‘first class dinner’ option on the ‘Bateaux’ at a cost of over $600, and were looking forward to dining at a window table, to our waiter service, our amuse bouche, 3 course meal with a cocktail, fine wines and open premium bar, and to be entertained by a live group. On the evening in question we excitedly dressed up, got our taxi and arrived at Pier 61 to get our boarding passes. We handed over our ID and confirmation email and the staff behind the counter said that we were booked onto the ‘Spirit of New York’. Huh? Wait, what? Yeah, the ‘Bateaux’ is overbooked so now you’re on that boat instead. Shocked was an understatement. So, we get the same deal then? The waiter service, the premium bar, the entertainment? Nah, it’s more of a party boat, with a DJ and a buffet.Still reeling from the shock we declined to board the ‘Spirit of New York’. It was not the evening we wanted, or booked, not to mention the huge difference in price. Staff could not care less and said the blame was with Viator and told us to sort it out with them. To avoid any comeback at a later time we phoned Viator there and then and got a full refund. But this ruined our entire trip. We have used Viator before but unsure whether we will again. They had our contact details yet did not warn us of any possible changes to our booking. My advice? Do not reserve this trip for any special/romantic occasion as there is no guarantee that your booking will be honoured.Update: July 1: after emailing as requested below I have had ZERO response to my complaint. Customer service absolute rubbish.
Amazing food and a great band are the positive events of the night. The service by Swan was mediocre at best. Our order included champagne and the commerative flutes which they did not give us. We left 20 minutes late because we were waiting on late comers. Our email said we could use our electronic tickets but when we got up to board they said we had to go somewhere else to get a ticket. It was a 3 hour ride which ended at 9pm but most people did not get their food until 8:40. Them they went to the port and sat. The people that sat next to us got the wrong food order twice. While they went out to look at the Statue of Liberty their food was taken.
I have had the pleasure of cruising with Spirit Cruises on multiple occasions. As an event planner for various Colleges over my career, Spirit Cruises/Bateaux have been a premier host. Each of my cruises, mostly Senior Sendoff or last party of the year events, have been memorable, filled with dancing and great service. Returning back to the dock is always met with a resounding Can we stay longer?.The staff is professional, attentive and adaptable, even to last minute requests. Pre, post and during event communications have been spot on and every recommendation or new request is met with energy to deliver the ultimate experience. I highly recommend you check them out.
We went to NYC to celebrate my daughter’s sweet 16. Dinning at Bateaux was a great-beyond-words experience. First class customer service by Deborah, delicious food and dessert, breathtaking scenery and sweet, soft, not boring live music. If you are in New York City, make sure to go to Bateaux and take the glass roofed boat.
The service is good but everything else is a total fail. This ship looks like a warehouse with chandeliers. Not very romantic at all. The food is subpar and my beef short rib came with a mini ice cream scoop size of mash potatoes and 1 carrot sliced in half. There are plenty of dinner cruise options in NYC not sure why they dont even care to compete with the main thing they have control over... the food. Disappointed to say the least.
Overall great experience. Took my girlfriend for her bd. Purchased the base price tickets and purchased drinks on board. However ud think wait staff would be attentive to upsale drinks since thats not included but not at all. I ordered from different waiters at some point because our original waiter would just nit come back. The last round i irdered was at 9:12i kbow because i checked the time to make sure i had enough time you enjoy it before i ordered it at 9:45 our waiter showed up with our check but still no drink. The worse of it all i checked my account and my chanrge for drinks is higher then what i signed for. So the waiter added gratuity although i did not tip on my card!! I read other reviews that have had the same done. Very shady, i dont know if the lack of service for us was because we are a young couple and thought we might not care but when your spending close to 400$ ud expect better much better!!
The manager really helped up out and he was very pleasant even though I probably was a little too stern and made him want to throw me over board so thanks a lot! For making my first experience something I dreamed of and I didn’t have to sit on this boat till 10 pm and starve! ❤️
At the cruise right now. Worst place my boyfriend and I chose to celebrate our anniversary. The place is nice, cant lie about that and the sightseeing was also good however the service is terrible. They have so many tables and only few people working here, as soon as we sat down it took 40 min for them to give us ONE bread with no butter or anything else to eat it with, then waited another 30 min for the waiter to come and finally order some drinks. Waited 15 min to get our drinks, and then another 30min to get our food which was only one piece of chicken and 3 small potatos. After another 30 min we got our dessert in which we did not have any other option than to get cheesecake which my boyfriend and I hate. I understand there werent that many workers here but they are very poor in the amount of food and took too long for everything. If you want to go on a cruise in ny pick a buffet one since you would have more options, definitely not Bateux
Went on a dinner date for anniversary.arrive early to find a parking spot if you dont want to park at chelsea pier.it was 52 dollar for parking at chelsea pier but it was worth it if you are planning on drinking and by the time boat comes back to pier, it was a little over 10pm.staffs were very professional and nice.nice ambienet and mood overall.food was good, and very wide selection of drinks.you get to see views of the city and big nyc attractions like statue of liberty.live jazz music was very calssic and uplifting.bathrooms are clean.i would recommend.
City Cruises evening cruises are an enjoyable night out for couple and small groups. The company goes out of its way to ensure you get good value for your buck.Pros: The maitre d, Alex, works hard to put a good deal of thought into seat assignment, coverage, guest requests and more. He works equally as hard at fixing problems when they arise. Food is buffet style, all-you-can-eat, with fish, chicken and beef selections for everyone. Cocktails may or may not be included depending on your ticket purchase, but were all well made. On my most recent dinner & dance cruise, I split a large margarita glass fishbowl that my wife wanted. Even though it seemed like a lot of ice, and we nursed the drink for over an hour, it didnt really taste watered down until the very end. Others on my tab commented their drinks were done well also. A nice mix of people. Tickets are just pricey enough that people will take it serious and not just show up in jeans and shorts (for the most part, there will always be those who just dont get it). The route was scenic (went up to 125th, then down around to Mnhttn bridge, then around the bay near Statue of Liberty and back). Weather permitting you will have a great night on the water. Even with heat lately, it was still very cool when boat is moving.Cons: music is a little dated sometimes. Buffet is arranged weird (plates are in middle instead of at the beginning resulting in disorder). Only 1 person to replenish buffet so it is constantly out of 1 menu item. System for ordering drinks can delay getting drinks for up to 20 min. Never enough chairs on deck, and getting more chairs seems to require multiple layers of approval. It can get a little crowded in some areas whenever the boat is near photo opportunity (top deck overwhelmed when near Stat of Liberty, Freedom tower, Brooklyn Bridge).I recommend this as a romantic activity for couples or small groups.

2022-02-09We did the unlimited mimosa brunch experience and it was amazing! My mimosa glass was never less than half full. Everyone was so nice and the food was very good! They even gave warm cookies as we boarded off the boat. It is a very nice boat with windows all along the side. We never had to go outside to see a great view. We saw the One World Trade Center, Brooklyn bridge, Manhattan bridge, Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island.

2021-09-14Had a great trip. Music, atmosphere, panoramic vision, food was all great. My daughter received a free bouquet of roses for her Birthday. The manager herself personally brought bouquet and with great respect presented it to my daughter and congratulated her. It was very nice. My daughter ordered a glass of cocktail. The bartender additionally brought a Birthday present separately another glass of cocktail. It so happened that 2 glasses fell and broke. The bartender saw and brought again 2 different glasses of cocktail at no extra charge. An unforgettable and romantic evening that my family really enjoyed. The staff were friendly. Food amazing, musicians professionally. I recommend this romantic trip.

2022-06-10If youre looking for a noisy disco boat with little to no plans for a quiet evening then this is perfect for you. This was advertised as a romantic cruise with dinner. It turned out to be more of a booze cruise with loud music and a disco. We wanted our time and our money. It was so noisy and crowded, it was stressful. We expected a quiet dinner with wonderful views, instead we were sat at a long table with lots of other peole. No, no, no We do not recommend.

2022-06-21We took the signature dinner cruise aboard the Spirit of New Jersey from Chelsea Pier, 61. The food was just plain awful. Drinks were OK but waitress did not know what a glass of chardonnay was. They did not tell us, but 45 minutes of the cruise was waiting at a pier in Newark to pick up a second group. The only decent thing was a nice view of the Statue of Liberty. Overpriced for the level of food and service. Not recommended.

2019-07-28My partner took me on an evening dinner cruise to celebrate my birthday and what a fantastic experience it was. The service was second to none, the food was very good and a live band that try accommodate song requests. The views as you sail down the Hudson are stunning especially on the return journey at night and not to mention they take you up close to the statue of liberty. The amount of photo opportunities on this trip is countless! I really cant recommend it enough especially if your celebrating a special occasion. You generally get an hour between courses so your free to move around and enjoy the atmosphere, go out to the bow or stern of the ship or maybe enjoy a dance as the fantastic band perform and maybe your lucky enough they will perform on of your requests
