I started using City MD in September 2020 to get tested for COVID before a flight to Cali. I had been quarantined all year due to the pandemic and needed a last minute test since I was attending a wedding. I was able to walk in to one of their clinics that stays open later than the other locations which worked well for me. There was little to no line and I had my insurance card on my app on my phone so I didn’t need a physical medical insurance card, just mu ID to check in upon checking in wait time is usually under 30 minutes. I’ve trusted them to go back to get Covid tested and I’ve been back 4 times ever since between October 2021 and this past week February 16th 3022. Their offices are always clean and I feel well taken cared of regardless of the locations or times of day,(I usually go to 3 different locations here in NYC). And the ability to get my results sent to the Summit App is also a plus and the results were given within an hour or at the most 3 days. I highly recommend them for any service.
I had been here before and received really good care so I went back a few days ago and had a pretty abysmal experience. First, for some reason I had to re-enter all of my personal information on the kiosk, which seems to happen at each City MD (Ive been to three now). Not a big deal, but a little bit annoying. When I was told by the receptionist that I had a $75 co-pay if I wasnt getting a covid test, I added the test. I figured since I was there I may as well anyways since it had been a few weeks since my last test and as a full-time student and service industry worker, my lifestyle requires a high level of contact with others. This also allowed me to avoid the $75 co-pay, which again as a student/worker, was very helpful. Apparently this annoyed the receptionist. After that, she was impatient and rude. The wait to see the doctor was very short. The nurse who entered my vitals and information was fine. We had some trouble communicating, but nothing major, she just seemed inexperienced. The doctor whizzed in, diagnosed me with Shingles wrote me a script for the symptoms and told me to monitor the blister that is by my eye and go to an Ophthalmologist if it got worse. I asked for a PCR test in addition to the rapid. The nurse who administered the PCR test was fine, she also seemed annoyed but we all have days like this and maybe she was having one. At this point, I am in a lot of pain from the Shingles, and a little upset about the diagnosis, wondering how this is going to play out with my school and work schedule. I rest for a minute after the PCR test, which also always makes me a little dizzy. When I get to the front desk, I realize I dont know if Shingles is contagious. I ask the receptionist if she can call the doctor to ask. She is wildly annoyed. Repeats back what I ask her as if it is an outrageous request. But this is actually something I really need to know, so I say yes, I need to know. She calls someone, and begins misgendering me. Saying she repeatedly. As a trans person, this feels pretty terrible and now I feel like she is being hateful. I can only assume that she has my medical info up in front of her and that this is not a language barrier. I asked her, Do I like a female to you? and she said simply I said (my last name.) I waited for a few minutes for the doctor, although at this point Im pretty upset. He never showed up. I told the receptionist, Nevermind I will look it up online and she ignored me. I repeated myself. She ignored me again. Finally said You heard? Im leaving. She looked right at me and didnt say a word. Pretty awful, honestly, Im still pretty upset about it. Which is why Im writing the yelp review obviously. In retrospect, I wish I had just paid the $75. Maybe then I would not have been subjected to dismissive care,
Very unfriendly and cold group of people. I came in for pain at 8:30am and was told I needed to see the ortho and they told me they would call ne back and would make the appt same day appt for me. They gave me nothing to manage the pain and never called me back. I called and called and no one answered the phone. At 1pm I called again and waited on hold for 53 minutes and someone picked up the phone and hung up. At the exact time I was in a taxi heading back to 86th street. There were 3 women sitting there and zero patients and they were just hanging out and not working. When I asked for a manager to file a complain, the manager was able to get me an appt at 2:30pm to see the ortho who finally gave me some pain relief. During my morning visit, I also asked if they could do blood work and I end up apologizing to Dr. love for the bother because she acted as if I was bothering her. Telling me they dont do blood work there, so why are you open if you dont want to help people?? David, who drawn my blood and saw my hand was swollen and in a cast, walked out the room when I asked him, if he could please help me roll my sleeves back down as I was one hand short at the time due to the pain. Just nasty, lazy and horrible location. Just close down if you hate what you do so badly. They also called me to tell me my white blood cells were low but couldnt tell me why or if I shiuld worry, because the doctor didn’t bother calling me to give me this info. The assistant called and claimed she didn’t know the answers because she was not a doctor. So why did she call me if she couldnt answer any questions??? Horrible location. Rude. Lazy, doesn’t answer the phone even though not a single person was waiting to be seen. Terrible location, probably worst than 96th street location. I’ve heard nightmares about them as well. If you hate helping people then try another profession.
Front desk staff not very helpful or particularly friendly. I made my own ortho follow-up appointment after going there for an ankle fracture. I was not given a copy of my X-rays. I went to the 96th street location to get my splint changed. I was given proper fitting crutches and a CD of my x-rays at the 96th St location. I had an overall much better patient experience at 96th St and will go there instead from now on.
Sunday morning before thanksgiving, we got on line at 630am, there were 11 people in front of (the two of) us. They opened at 9am, we were seen by 9:45am and out by 10am. Senior citizens are allowed to go to the front and 4 people went ahead of us. So estimating 15-17 ppl per hour. We walked out at 10am and counted 125 people on the line.Bundle. Bring hand warmers. Bring a friend. Be patient. These workers were polite, friendly, they moved fast and made us feel safe. They really doing God’s work. Stay safe everyone!
If I could give 0 stars I would. If you have Brittany Yanora as a physician just be aware of how rude she will speak to you. I had the worst experience here today on 12/23/21. The first thing that was a red flag she walked in and said so I hear you have multiple problems in a rude way. (I wanted to get tested for Covid and believe I have a kidney infection so TWO things). In my opinion (I am in the medical field as well) she should of walked in and asked what’s going on. I have never encountered a physician that was so rude and spoke down on a patient. I was telling her about my pain. Which she made me tell her multiple times. She looked at me at the end of the appointment and said so you think you know more about medicine than me? VERY rudely… I started to get upset because she had just told me to go over my story again.. I told her no I’m not saying anything about you with medicine. I am telling you I know my body and I know this pain. I had this pain a few months ago and a doctor prescribe antibiotics for me. She went off on me again. I would understand her questioning me if I was asking for pain meds. I was NOT. I started to get upset and cry because of how rudely she was speaking to me. She then said okay we are going to leave the room and I said no I am going to leave. I have never had a physician that was so condescending. Be aware that the assistant are not the best either. I had already gotten my Covid test in the middle of this and the physician said okay let’s get her a Covid test. The assistant said nothing. I had to speak up and say she already did a Covid test on me. It was a very unprofessional experience.
I visited twice this location for Covid testing in December 2021 when the Omicron variant was spreading in the US. The first time I was not admitted due to full capacity of the clinic. The second time I went and waited in line before they opened (the clinic was opening at 9am and I was there at 8:40am). They wrote down my cell phone and they texted me 2 hours later. While I was waiting in the clinic, I realised that at 11:30am (2.5 hours only after opening) they were not admitting any more people for Covid testing, even though there was no line outside. The nurse asked about the reason of the visit, I told her that I was exposed to someone that has tested positive 3 days ago and wanted both rapid and PCR tests to be performed and she said ok. Then, the doctor came in and she told me that the PCR wouldn’t be accurate in my case and that it should be taken 8-10 days after exposure. When I started asking more questions, she replied in a rude way “you are positive” and left the room. I had already informed all my close contacts when I received a call from City MD 2 hours later. The person calling is informing me that there was a glitch in the system and I was actually negative....When I starting asking questions and whether I need to do a PCR, the person calling puts me on hold. Then, the doctor comes on the phone and tells me that I was positive again..Such a mess, I will get tested somewhere else again.
My wife brought my 3 year old daughter with a nursemaid elbow. For those who dont know, nursemaid elbow is a dislocation that is very painful for a toddler but doctors quickly fix it in 5 seconds. The receptionist stated that there is an hour wait. My child was screaming and was obviously in agony. On any other day, I would never ask to jump ahead of anyone and I know that this facility is first come first serve but there is always an exception to every rule and a child in pain is one of them. The patient waiting ahead wouldnt have even minded. Not only did the receptionist/nurse Ratched refused but she was also very rude. She refused to even speak to a superior or a doctor. When my wife handed her the phone to speak to me, she cut me off and refused to speak to me. You know through out history people used following the rules/following orders to do horrible things. This receptionist failed to exercise any common sense or decency. She was very abrupt and failed to even sympathized with a mother and daughter who were in obvious distress. We took our daughter to another facility. I came here a few times before and even recommended this to others but know that changed. 9/10/21.
The staff were polite enough. But the prognosis I was given meant I had to isolate pending test results. Initial isolation period has come and gone and no test results. Was told to continue to isolate. In the meantime do I just not go to work? Hope that my employer takes my word for it since I have no documentation for the further isolation demand? It doesnt take a week for a lab to test a blood sample. Im certain the result was lost or the sample was insufficient for testing. Also, your info takes several days to be added to the portal.Dont go here unless you know exactly whats wrong with you.And the sign in process is completely ridiculous.
While the line to get tested for COVID was outrageously long, the staff at CityMD was polite and made me feel super comfortable! They even apologized about the line, which obviously isn’t their fault and is out of their control. They are all smiles and 100% professional. I’m always very nervous about doctors visits, but they really made me comfortable. My actual visit was quick and efficient!
My boyfriend and I went in last minute for a rapid COVID test at 9:30 pm in order to attend a sporting event the next day. CityMD got us in within 5 minutes. We were tested and out the door within 15. The whole staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The office was pristine and felt very spacious. Will absolutely be going back and would recommend to anyone else looking for an urgent care center.
I went because of severe trouble breathing. I have asthma. After a very short wait, I was seen and eventually three technicians and one doctor took a my blood pressure, oxygen level and temperature and an exray and the doctor listened to my lungs then prescribed some inhalation and two medications. They spent about an hour with me and every courteous and efficient.
Had a great time at this location. Angel from the front desk was patient and caring despite having to deal with a rude patient ahead of me during busy hour. Dr. Polovenko was super nice as well. One of the nicest doctors I’ve talked to.Don’t know how this place get bad reviews. As long as you’re not a rude colossal karen, you’ll be treated well. Respect goes a long way!
Came here sick complaining of a sore throat, fever, and almost passed out in the wait room multiple times. Was told I just had a cold and waved off any testing I asked for, extremely condescending doctor. Went to CVS MinuteClinic a little less than 48 hours later with a sustained fever of 102 and the same symptoms (but worse since I was physically and emotionally exhausted from being in this state for over 3 days). Immediately tested positive for a severe case of strep, and was told by the doctor my airway was pretty much swelled shut so it was bad for me to have gone this long without treatment. Thanks idiots. If I could give zero stars I would.
First of all they collect tons of unnecessary data from you which is annoying. They made me wait in the waiting room while sick for over an hour before I was seen. Tries to be efficient but is quite the opposite. Also they don’t really give you care here. They just refer you out to other doctors. Scam business.
Needed a flu shot. Asked to be on virtual line, returned when texted (approx 1 hr later) only to be told to sit down stairs in the waiting area for an unspecified amount of time. After 30 mins of waiting had to leave. They also charge as a full medical visit (50$ copay). Better off going to cvs next door if you need a flu vaccine.
I almost never will post a bad review of any place but my experience here was that horrible. Nurses went out of their way to be mean to me for asking questions, one of them in particular was insufferable. Nobody would read any of my paperwork no matter how many times i asked them to, resulting in a copay that should have been $0 and confusion on what tests i needed for my job making me there for over an hour that could have been solved if just one person would listen to me. on top of that, they gave me a skin test without informing me i’d need to come back to get it checked in 3 days until AFTER it was administered and i had to go on vacation the next day so I literally couldn’t. it made my anxiety go absolutely crazy and they were beyond unapologetic. they were unhelpful/and not knowledgeable about absolutely anything and i would literally never go back here unless i was somehow injured directly in front of this location. even then it’d be debatable! I could not recommend a place less to go
Great staff, atentious, caring, detail oriented. Dr. Margolis has great side manners besides being very knowledgeable, and ethical. CityMD is my favourite urgent care place to go; they take insurance, and the waiting time is minimal. The place is impeccably clean (on East 86th Street between 1st and 2nd), quiet, and professional. Thank G’d I no longer need to wait hours in an ER for something that can be taken care in CityMD. I definitely recommend it - highly, to anyone in need of medical care. You will be glad you went there. Disclosure: I am not an employee of CityMD, no one in my family is affiliated with CitiMD. I have not received any compensation to write my review. I am simply a patient. Thank you CitiMD for being in my neighborhood. I don’t think the other urgent care companies that are nearby are as good. My experience with those - well better to say nothing.
I have always had very positive experiences at City MD. I went recently because I was feeling under the weather and wanted to be absolutely sure it wasn’t covid. I was seen immediately, the nurse and doctor were very kind, thorough and explained everything. I was in and out in about a half an hour. I highly recommend them!
My SO and I recently had a rapid COVID test, and although it was fast and simple process, The results were mediocre and a warning sign for any patient. As I reviewed my medical records I found many inaccuracies and poor practices by the Jose Bastidas, P.A and Brent, Gottesman Dr. Clinicians seeing patients without any charts to write down your observations, procedures and diagnosis you are bound to make mistakes. How do you go into a patients room without anything to write! Unless you are writing this after you finish with your patient - which was not the case or have a nurse, or a pc to report your findings. This is what happened in both cases, totally inaccurate, untrue diagnosis, history, vitals, and assessments.Hopefully this is a rare occurrence for both practitioners. This was also very different when there was no insurance to claim. I hope this was not all added because there was an insurance to claim.
The front desk staff was very friendly. However, the doctor that saw me got me wondering if he was a doctor. He looked in a rush, stressed and kept on coughing and talking like he had to catch the midnight train. He was asking the nurse if he was done typing so he could leave the room. Took an express look at my foot. His name is nowhere to be found on the visit summary. Only way for me to describe him is the Star of David necklace he was wearing. If you see him enter the room you’re in, you’d better ask for another doctor.
Thoughtful and polite.. while I was just there to get a Covid test they took my vitals. I have high blood pressure and since it was quite high they got one of the doctors to talk to me and I explained my Dr was aware. The idea that they were taking the time to address a problem they saw showed they cared about the person and not just there to rush you thru the process.
My experience earlier this week at City MD East 86th Street was exceptional. Not only was the medical treatment both to-quality and kind but I also felt safe in the facility, where the proper protocols for Covid-19 were being carefully practiced. The environment was efficient, cheerful, and all that a patient could ask for.
I took my daughter here for required covid testing on Monday. They never uploaded the results on to the portal. I began calling on the third day for results and was told by reps that they were not in. I called each day!!! On Saturday, I was told that they had the results since Wednesday!!! There is no excuse for this stupidity! My daughter missed days of school for nothing!
I went today because my regular doctors office was closed. Contrary to the other comments, I had no problem with the front desk. They were actually super friendly from the moment I walked in the door. I was seen quite quickly, and was on my way. Ive seen people comment on here that the costs were high-I paid $50.00 (my regular doctor is $10.00) like I wouldve in the emergency room. They ran one test on me but it was included in the co pay. The nurse and Doctor were friendly, and quick. Definitely would go there again if my doctors office is closed and I need to see a doctor.
The doctor was in a rush and I had to wait two hours in the covid line when I was told I would be seen as a regular patient without having to wait. I went in for an ear infection and was prescribed $200+ ear drops and EYE drops.. I had to ask her twice to check my sore throat and my cough.
CityMD is a wonderful and convenient answer to many of the minor medical problems that pop up every now and then. They seem to take the strain off of hospital Emergency rooms for those of us who are not experiencing a medical emergency. The staff at City MD on East 86th have always been unfailing kind and polite, and the care has always been excellent! I cannot recommend them highly enough?
I waited outside for about an hour before opening and everyone in line stayed apart very nicely. But thats not you... so, once you were open I felt like your staff was totally informative and helpful. I was about 12th in line and I was inside in no time. I checked in the was called in just a few minutes. Everyone I encountered was kind. Thank you
With two young children, this wasnt my first visit to City MD and Im sure it wont be the last. Every time weve gone, the staff have been helpful, friendly, patient, and understanding. While I never look forward to going, its comforting to know theyre there when I need them.
One of the doctors of this location referred me to a specialist urgently; when I was discharged, they told me that I would receive a call with the referral information four days had passed and nothing; I went back to asked them for the referral and explained that I was in a lot of pain and they told me very rudely that I have to wait for their call. They can’t do anything for me.
I had an emergency and tried City MD for the first time. First clinic that is so automated to check in easily by using their devices. The wait was less than 5mins and the doctor + staff were very attentive to my needs. Not sure why I would ever go to my primary care and wait for appointments when I can just enjoy the ease of urgent care clinics!
I had a medical emergency and was able to make my way here since I live only a couple blocks away. Best experience Ive had and would choose CityMD over doctors office or the ER 100% of the time. Front desk staff was very friendly and quick. Doctor and nurses were all very funny and made me as comfortable as possible!
Today was our first visit to City MD and it was beyond great. My husband had been feeling ill for a few days and we didn’t know whether it was a bad cold, the flu or something else. Since it was the weekend and his primary care physician was not available, we tried City MD. Our wait time was only a few minutes, the facility was state of the art, the staff and physician couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. After a thorough exam, including a chest X-ray, it was determined that he has pneumonia. The proper meds were prescribed and I’m certain he will be fine. So glad we made this visit.
The front desk staff are incredibly helpful and patient!Went for a covid test on a Saturday. By 9 am, the line is around the block. They take the names and numbers of the 1st ~130 people and text you when it’s time to return for your test. I left my number at about 10 am and was texted to come in around 3:45 pm. Once I arrived I was in and out within 15 minsResults came very quickly (30 mins)
Due to my work I have to test often for covid 19. This is the best place to do so in my neighborhood due to the amazing people that work there. The manager Sweya ( Im sure I misspelled her name, my apologies ). This woman is an angel. She is one of the most patient person Ive ever met ( next to my grandmother). Every time I go there she is patiently explaining the same thing to every person in line. Never gets irritated, not even slightly. I really hope shell get a big bonus this year, she really deserves it.
I live two blocks from this location and have always been grateful that I did. The staff here has always treated me like gold and taken care of my array of complaints over the years. Today was different, though, because I wound up with a smug doctor who mumbled his name and tried to change my story and put words in my mouth as I was describing my situation to him (a minor accident with a driver who didnt stop for me as I crossed the street). I hope I dont get this jerk the next time I need urgent care. Thumbs up for the young technician, John, who was very nice.
Came in for Covid19 test due to a coworker testing positive. Barely any wait and the staff was super friendly and efficient. They were able to perform an instant test and another one with results that will be available in 3days, just up confirm results of the first one. Super thankful that was able to get my results right away- could go back to work next day! Great job CityMd.
I came in to the 86th Street Urgent care today around 8:30 am because I had a very painful thumbnail infection, and I knew they could see me quicker than my doctors office could. The 86th Street location is the best because it is very spacious with plenty of seating, and theres a cute kids corner with a tv. I was called in immediately, and they took my vitals. After a few minutes wait, Radik looked at my thumbnail infection, immediately drained it, then gave me a tetanus shot and prescribed antibiotics. I think it was around 9:00 am or so when I left. The visit was very quick and easy. I would recommend coming to Urgent Care, especially if you are pressed for time (and want to be seen soon) and/or for some reason your regular doctor is not available. Ive been here about 4 times (sometimes with my toddler and husband needing to be seen), and weve always had great experiences. The doctors at City MD are great!
Waited almost 1/2 hr. put in a examining room waited another 5 or 10 minutes and then moved to another room. The doctor finally arrived. The doctor took a little over 5 minutes to examine me and then prescribed. a prescription for my eyes that cost $140.00.This was not my first visit and was.very disappointed in the service.
DO NOT GET COVID-19 TESTED HERE!This is usually my favorite City MD. However things have drastically changed. I waited outside in the cold for 2 1/2 hours with my 9yr old. Waited another 30 mins inside. We took a rapid and regular Covid test. My sons results came back in a few hours. Mine never came. I had to call in to get my results. After being transfered to a department that was closed and a couple callbacks, i finally got my results. Smh
I walked in on a Saturday at 1030ish & I was out by 11am ish. I had an amazing experience minus the aggravating computer system that’s used to for patients to check in. I gave this location 4 stars b/c from the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed. Upon arrival I was greeted in the most professional manner that I have ever been greet in since I came to NYC 10 years ago. I was greeted by the manager on duty ; Zoey. Being from NC I never forget ppl who give me great service. I rarely experience 4star service in NYC, but Zoey changed that! Even my nurse was beyond patient with me & made me also feel welcome. I wish I could clone them both! But the absolute best part of my experience was the doctor ; she immediately knew what was going on with me ; she broke down my diagnoses & I left confident that I would get better. I recommend this location. As for the extra bill comments, I’m not sure about that ; I used my insurance but everything seems self explanatory when reading over the forms I signed. If you have an issue the staff at this location seem like the kind of folks who will kindly explain any confusion with bills. Again I highly recommend this location minus Dr. Camp. On Oct.15th I had a second visit to this location & during my second visit everything well until Dr. Camp’s ego kicked in & she said to me when I asked her for an antibiotic that if she had known that was all I wanted she wouldn’t of wasted 10mins talking to me about other options. Even if I’m wrong about my diagnosis it’s beyond unprofessional to tell a patient that taking the time to explain treatment options is a waste of time. When I say “privilege” has no color, I mean it ; my issue with Dr. Camp isn’t about color it’s about the power & “privilege she think she has b/c she’s the one wearing a white coat. She reminded me of Donald Trump without an oval office.
Waited forty minutes in a room to be seen by a doctor. I step out of the room to see what going on and I’m told by nurse/tech that doctor will be right with me. I comment how I’ve been waiting for more than half hour and can’t keep waiting and doctor says “ if you want to leave then leave” so I left. Never in all the years I’ve been going to CityMd have I had an experience like this. Very disappointed at the end of this visit especially when the staff was originally so friendly and professional.
Doctor Michael Tafoya was so comforting when he told me I had pneumonia in both lungs and had to go to the ER. He made it a point to call me and check in to see if I made it to the hospital ok, and then he called the next morning to see what the hospital decided on for treatment. This was so kind. The hospital I went to treated me horrendously, so it’s nice to know there are still doctors like Dr Tafoya who actually care!
Great space however, the two doctors i have seen so far, just downgrade your situation or tell you the information you already know. I was told to come back in if I felt more pain than I do now, or if I experience a difference in the wound or area.I did get a prescription as well which did help, but I felt like I wasted time.
Went to urgent care because I needed help urgently. Nurse was terrific. Doctor was fine. But they did not send the prescription I needed to pharmacy and then they closed. So here I am next day and could have seen my regular doctor instead of waiting time and money while I am in pain. The pharmacy said this often happens with the 86th street location. When I called this morning there was not even an apology or mild expression of sympathy. Just call back later because now you are after care and that opens later. It ended up being a total waste.
The service I got from City MD location on 86th street, New York is horrible. Today, me and my wife went to the city MD location on 96 st first. We were told their X ray machine is out of service and asked us to go to 86 St location. After we walked in the 86 st location, we informed them about our situation. Then they told us we will be the very next patient. it was around 4:20 pm. Since then, we waited till 6, but nobody noticed us waiting. Finally I asked the guy at the front desk how much longer would that be. He told me that we will be the next patient, but he sent another patient within next 5 minute. For me, that was the end. I walked with a much higher expectation, but I walked out without getting the treatment for my wife. I want to make sure that this gets proper attention and I also would like a response. There were 4 people at the front desk and we got zero attention. The total experience was no less than being in the Hospital ER. Give me a no star option and I will give that to this place
Everyone was nice. Didn’t have to wait at all. Seems like I was rushed through. The provider( I have no idea why they didn’t name him the nurse practitioner or the doctor) prescribed over the counter medication which is Wal-Phed D and Mucinex. Paid $40 for that. Feel worse today. Don’t plan to go back. Why would I?I give 2 stars because they ware nice and I didn’t wait at all.
I went to see them and I was greeted by a woman whose English was very poor. And she kept calling me darling. When push came to shove, she told me she could NOT take x-rays because I would need 17 of them, and that was too much work for her. I think you should know that I was the only patient in the facility at the time. All she could tell me to do was to go to a hospital. If humanly possible, STAY AWAY, walk out, or dont even go here. I have never gone to places that are so lazy, so unwilling to help, and so useless. It doesnt even pay to go here. It is not worth your time, money, or effort. Just wait until I find my bill, and you will see what I mean!
Waste of time and money. Sent me to the ER for something which, when I arrived at the ER, was told was perfectly normal and I neednt have come. Well, I understand theyre afraid of liability if they dont send someone to the ER, fine. The worst part, though, was that they said theyd waive the fee for the visit, have billed me for it anyways, and dont respond to emails about the bill. If you look through the reviews for CityMDs youll see Im not the only person this has happened to :-/.
I went here for a COIVD test and thought everything was very well-organized. I showed up at 7AM to get in line to enter my name for the test. When it was my turn for the test, they gave me a call and I had 20 minutes to get there. I took the test and had results in 15 minutes. Thank you for working hard for NYC!
Absolutely loved Dr Polovenko. She’s very kind and answered all my questions. From the two lovely ladies who assist the Dr., to Dr. Polovenko herself, this was probably one of my best visits to any Drs office. Not a long wait at all. Very efficient office crew. The physical went smoothly. Very friendly, helpful, caring, and warm. Highly recommended!
So I came to this place last week because of pressure in my ear and I couldn’t hear. This has happened to me once before after I have gone swimming, and the doctor usually takes a water pick/ear vacuum to clear the ear.The middle aged brunette doctor came into the room, I explained the situation, and she looked in my ear and goes “Oh wow you have an infection” and immediately tells the assistant antibiotics to write down. I sat there confused because I have had this exact situation happen to me before. She tells me to take the antibiotics and after the weekend if I’m not feeling better, to get me into an ENT.I told her doctors previously use a water pick real quick to clear the ear, and she responds with “Oh no, you have an infection. There is pus in your ear, you’ll bleed if I do that. Take the antibiotics and if you’re not better go to an ENT”. I told her I wasn’t waiting till after the weekend because I couldn’t hear out of my ear.In the end, I go to an ENT, who quickly takes a look, grabs the water pick, clears my ear and sends me on my way.Luckily I have great insurance and only had to pay co-pays, but I feel terrible for people with subpar insurance that this place scams because they’re in bed with other physicians and pharmacies. This doctor was a joke and a liar.Avoid this place unless you’re on a death bed.
Very professional. 5 starsEdit:Went for covid test which is a quick swab.So WHY would it take one hour to do 5 people? Also, there are 70 people waiting outside? That’s too long.Edit 2: Now there’s a list- but you have to come in to sign up. No phone calls. So I have to make 2 trips?Edit 3: I went in and signed up for list then went home. They called me back a few hours later and then they took good care of me.
I was charged twice out of no reason. During the visit nobody did anything and they charged me 225 in total, no one told me there would be more charge. Later I receive another bill telling me I should pay around $300 more just for a blood test, the normal price is $100 in other places or even cheaper. I called them and all of the departments in cityMD said the $225 was just for the visit and I should pay extra. They even didnt ask for my name when they say so. I am sure they charge everyone like this again and again, thats why they do this automatically without knowing who I am. And I will face a claim very soon if the second payment is delayed. I will never go this place again.
Twice I visited this location and both times was told I had paid in full but later received an adjusted bill for additional charges. A doctor spent 5 seconds in the room, did not examine me or take vitals, told me to go buy some Flonase, and they decided this was a thorough evaluation requiring an extra $100 fee. I guess thats one way to run a clinic.
Paid an expensive copay simply for them to tell me that I dont need what I came in for. They called it a consultation fee. I ended up having to wait an additional 2 days to see another doctor who performed my request. A complete waste of time & money. I wont be coming back.
I have 3 kids and I will never be going back to this place again. I visited their Commack location last year when my daughter had an ear infection. I asked them how much for the visit they ask me if I had insurance. I asked again how much for the visit. Again they asked if I had insurance. I said how much if I dont have insurance they told me $105, but if I had an insurance card I should give it to them. So guess what I get billed $231 for the visit. I asked for a break down of the fees there was only one fee which was the visit.I called and they refused to discount the bill. They offered 10% off their bloated fee. I dont care if you feel you need to play these games with the insurance company to get paid, but dont steal money from families. Thieves!I cant afford to pay double the price because I supposedly have insurance. What a joke. You will no longer have my business. I will bring my children elsewhere and will urge my friends and family to do the same! You are officially boycotted!
Went to Upper East side location and it was awesome! I was in and out in less than an hour. Staff was super friendly and the doctor took the time to answer my questions and make sure everything was clear- more than my normal doctor would. I plan to go back for my flu shot and the next time i am not feeling well.
COVID 19 UPDATE: be prepared to wait outside 2 hours to get a COVID-19 test. Once inside, the administrative team is blatantly rude and slow. Horrible.Crooks!!!! I recently went there for back pain and paid $125 to see a doctor and received no testing, just basic vitals, and later received a bill for $100 for being prescribed a prescription for ibuprofen. I’ll never go back.
Waited an hour this afternoon before they told me they did not accept my insurance, even though its listed on their website. What a sham. Then when I hesitantly agreed to pay their self pay rate of $125 plus tests, I wait some more. Finally when they kept taking people who arrived after me, I left. Id had a fever of 102 and just wanted tamiflu before it was too late to take it. (They accepted our insurance a couple months back when my wife to a daughter there.)I should have gone to the national drug store chain half a block away that does accept our insurance. Shame on me.But shame on them.
If the doctor is lacking in experience to do some simple procedure it will be better that the Doctor should be honest with the patient and dont do it, instead to let the patient with a more serious health issue. That happened to me, and Im very disappointed with your service.
The doctors and nurses are very friendly and professional.HOWEVER, the ladies at the front desk are rude and stuck up. They give you snarky remarks and talk to you as if you were inferior. They dont say please or thank you, which are basic manners. They dont look at you when they are speaking to you. For receptionists, I would think they would be a little friendlier.
Very good walk in clinic. Used it on my recent trip and staff was very friendly and good quick efficient service. From reception with checkin kiosks to sending prescription to nearby Duane reade pharmacy (owned by Walgreens) entire experience was pleasant and very efficient.
My daughter was diagnosed with the flu today at her pediatrician. My husband brought my daughter in and was told it’s a cold that needs to work it’s course. Dr. Halligan dismissed my daughter’s sickness last night. Needless to say, we will never go to this place again.
I went to CityMD (Upper East Side) for an annual physical. Having less than a year in NYC when i need to find something i look on the internet, and let me tell you searching for an annual physical was hard. A lot of places, bad reviews, not updated information, it was hard. But then i found about CityMD and their excellent reviews and decided to give it a try.First i sent an email with my doubts (it was my 1st yearly physical) and they replied back the next day telling me that they dont do appointments, that all i needed was to walk in.So i went was early as they opened and what i found was an excellent and amicable staff. I filled my information and only waited for 5 mins tops, after that an intern called me.The test went just fine, the intern started to ask about my medical history and being clear that he wasnt the doctor. The doctor came some minutes later and again asked me about how i felt, my history, etc. They both listened carefully and were very professional. at any time some test was going to be performed (electro, etc) they explained the procedure. Now im waiting for my blood test to came back, but man, they have an excellent attention. I will definitively recommend this place to anyone
I feel like I am still dreaming!!! I live in Astoria and I just happened to be shopping on 86th street when I was crossing the street and underestimated the depth of a puddle. I stepped in and rocked my ankles in directions my ankle had only heard of in the fairy tales.Hobbling around 86th street, I was unaware of where to go. I closed my eyes and started heading east and began looking for a place to sit down and catch my breath. That is when one of the coolest things in my life, happened. My virgin eyes fell upon a beautiful, heavenly temple radiating white and red letters which through the glare of its radiance spelled out CityMD. I said to myself It cant be!This was too convenient. In my years of pedestrian travel through the city, I have never seen a more perfect coupling of physical need and retail service combined within a small geographical space.CityMD was like walking into cloud city in the Empire Strikes Back. With its pristine walls and floor and attractive personal (all with great posture) I was still not entirely sure that this was a place that provided medical attention. Before I could doubt my own senses, a friendly employee took great time out of her dealings, notices that I am standing on one foot, and offers me a a seat. This is where my mind really got blown. Instead of making me skip like a fool towards the receptionist to fill out my name and info, this sweet receptionist came all the way around the reception area (its a pretty long walk) to hand me a pen and paper. This is already one of the greatest retail experiences ever, and nothing medical related has taken place!I was seen in 6 minutes flats and greeted by a young MD who helped me back into one of what seems to be a hundred exam rooms. I keep seeing more white coats all briskly walking through the hallways. I felt like i was on the set of Greys Anatomy. These people belong in Hollywood!Once in the exam room. I was handed a remote and started watching cable on a 50inch plasma and enjoyed what seemed to be the coolest modern art drawing on the Empire State Building. Was I in a doctors office on the ESPN bar in times square?I could go on forever...this place is a must see. I was out within 20 minutes of arriving and was given a cast and a crutch, so that i no longer had to skip. They even had lollipops. Props for bringing back to the lollys!!!
If you know whats wrong and need urgent medical attention, this is the place to go. Youll be treated much more quickly than through an ER. HOWEVER, for anything remotely complicated or unique, youre better off with a hospital ER.Doctors and nurses are good, but front desk is less than stellar. They are not a friendly bunch.
This place could cause injury! I went there in the evening of 1/21/2018 after I had a mild scratch on one of my fingers by my apartment locker. The doctor decided to give me Vaccines injection and I was okay with it. First, I did not expect this place does not have nurse to do vaccine injection but the doctor himself does it; second, he did not open the needle package in front of me so I had no chance to ensure that the needle was new; third, he asked me to show him my left shoulder a bit by pulling my crew neck cashmere sweater a side. I was a bit concerned as I never had any vaccine injected in shoulder before; I asked him whether it should be upper arm instead of shoulder but then he said lower will feel more pain (this is not right as it should be at upper arm instead of on shoulder) so he injected right on my left shoulder while I was sitting and he was standing (this is also wrong that while he stands he has higher chance to inject at a too high position); fourth, some blood flew out immediately. He used his finger (with glove) to wipe out the blood instead of medical cotton swab (which concerns me for possible infections). Now two days passed, my shoulder is in pain, and feels strengthless from left shoulder to left hand - I will have to handle this medical accident now and I am in deep regret ever walked in this place! Doctor there is lack of training and lack of professionalism.
I came to CityMed a week ago in ALOT of PAIN, in my right leg, I didnt have to wait in line outside, but waited for my turn inside as if I was waiting outside, and the reason I say this is because I could barely stand, I was honest, and the ENTIRE TEAM ASSISTED me with the upmost Courtesy and Professionalism, On a Scale from 0 to 10, the ENTIRE TEAM EXCEEDED to 100. This CityMed was very convenient for me and is needed. I thank the ENTIRE TEAM for their Service
Dont care for the laughing,Giggling and smugness of the people behind the reception area. One doctor I saw treated me as if I were lying about a sore throat but noticed it was irritated which later turned into something more serious. They do not return calls letting you know about test results. If you need a letter for work or school make sure it says what it needs to say or else your screwed.
Was transferred here from 96th street location since the X-ray there was broken. The waiting there only took maybe 2 mins. While here, they made me For 2 ridiculous hours for an X-ray! After an hour of waiting, I asked for an update, the guy just looked at me and said ok. 5 mins later he came back and asked for my last name and DOB, as if they dont already have that on their records. An hour and a half later, I asked again, the guy said theyll be calling you in a couple of mins 2 damn hrs later, I asked for an update and all they could say was yeah theres only one tech... , I said but two hours of waiting though??? Did everyone who came after me got an X-ray or something????? The damn X-ray only took 3 mins tops! Front desk wasnt helpful at all.
I and TRULY disgusted after watching the 16 min viral video of your employee Robert Ortiz and his Despicable behavior! I would NEVER trust my health or my personal information as a person of color at a medical location that employs a openly racist and hateful person. The things he said were beyond deplorable and to now hear that he was only suspended WITH pay, tells me and other DECENT human beings just what kind of company you are! Until your company speaks on this issue and does the right thing... you will lose business.
My prescription was sent to the wrong pharmacy. Then I called and they apologized but said they couldnt do anything and they kept me on hold for 15 mins and never came back. Im super sick so I ended up having to pay full price for all my prescriptions. Really unhappy about that.
Visited CityMD E 86th St for the first time because I was feeling ill. The staff was extremely professional and the wait time was just about five minutes. I was seen by Dr. Michael Platzman and was very pleased with his knowledge and professionalism. I highly recommend CityMD E 86th St and will certainly visit again!
A friend went there with a stomach virus. The doctors recognized a more serious problem, referred him to Lennox Hill. Hes having his surgery tomorrow, two days after his visit to CityMD. Thanks, doctors and CityMD, for not just giving him something for nausea and sending him home. Thanks for taking the time to really examine him.
BEWARE!! I read the reviews and decided to get a sinus infection checked out. 15 minutes later I was prescribed a Z-pak and a steroid for my nose (picked both up from DR for $90)For a 15 minute visit where they took my temperature and blood pressure, I received a bill for $430 from CityMD - and that was AFTER insurance covered half the cost.Almost $900 for a 15 minute visit? BEWARE!
To CityMD: as an African American woman I will never feel comfortable walking through your doors nor will I refer anyone to your company. As a healthcare employee I am disgusted at your silence on your employee Robert Ortiz using racist rhetoric and flaunting your company name. I will be filing a complaint with the department of health. Behavior like this in a city as colorful as NYC will not be tolerated. I implore you to show us that you do stand behind our race and fire Robert Ortiz. My professional opinion: your legal team, malpractice team and PR team have work to do to save your company.Sincerely,An Angry Educated Black Woman
Got diagnosed with a fractured ankle and toe here, cancelled a further trip based on the diagnosis. Went home and according to the orthopedic specialist it was a sprain and some old fracture. Don’t know how these guys are allowed to practice medicine.Made a complain, but it was never properly followed up.
Today on 12/13 AT 230 PM they ARE NOT DOING ANY COVID TESTS AT ALL. SAVE YOUR TIME AND CALL AHEAD. ALL LOCATIONS CLOSED AT 2 PM ON SATURDAY AND NOW THEY ARE TURNING AWAY THE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE COMING BACK CLAIMING THAT CLOSING EARLY ON A SATURDAY DOESNT AFFECT SUNDAY OPERATIONS. FIVE HOURS BEFORE CLOSING YOU CANNOT GET A COVID TEST HERE. BE FOREWARNED.

2022-06-03Was told I would be seen by a Doctor..turns out it was a PA(Physicians Assistant)..Big difference. The person who scheduled my scan botched the job so many times that if I didnt follow up on my own, Id still be waiting to be seen at Imaging place.Theres way to many chances for misunderstanding and mistakes from the person seeing you to the person doing the key tasks of ordering tests/scans. Very scary when you think about it.Also after my results came back I didnt hear from them even though I had been told some panel would review the results and get back to me.Probably because they dont even have the qualified staff to provide any feedback of significance.Way to leave your patients dangling in the wind.Clearly the front office and medical staff are using different playbooks. If youre considering going to this place for anything more than a Covid Test, you might want to reconsider.Never going back there again..

2022-08-03Have used a few times. Always friendly; seem to know what theyre doing; at one point the front desk took care of the check-in, rather than deal with the kiosks (we needed it then). Definitely better than the E.R. All medical encounters should work as well.

2022-06-03Came in a few weeks ago for a X-ray at about 10pm at night the lobby was crowded Mindy was the receptionist at the front desk by herself she was so sweet and patient with everyone. She informed me the wait time was over an hour and gave me the option to come back in the morning at 7:30am when the X-ray Tech arrives. I came at 7:15 the next morning and Mindy was at the front desk again by herself!! You can tell she was so tired with no support but she still made sure everyone that walked in was aided too. She got me in quick, I had an amazing experience. It was just upsetting to see her all alone, please hire more people like!! No one deserves to be overworked.

2022-06-27Came here for Covid test. Staff friendly, nurse and physician were courteous and professional. Wish my regular physicians office showed the same respect for patients. Dr. Godbout (sp?) was clear and concise about treatment etc.

2022-03-29I would have given this location one star if it werent for the front desk staff and the PA that saw me. If youre looking to be taken seriously then go elsewhere. The first physician had no bedside manner and was extremely condescending. I was in such disbelief at his tone towards me as I have never been treated in such a way. When explaining my symptoms he constantly minimized and questioned what I was telling him. I dont know if he treats every POC that way but I wouldnt put it past him. Furthermore, upon exiting the examination room I witnessed him very obviously gossiping about me. My SO is an EM doctor who has most likely been practicing medicine longer than that so called physician has been alive and when I shared the way I was treated he was equally as appalled. Shame on this establishment for not hiring more qualified physicians.

2022-09-03I am giving them a 1star today because, they actually called people before me that checked in after me, and when I questioned them about how does the order go, by urgency or check in the receptionist said check in. YET I’m still waiting in the waiting area, is this bc I’m “Afro-American”and everyone called ahead of me were “White”. She told me someone would be coming to get me in a second yet I had enough time to write this review and still wasn’t called. Nothing changes in society today I see!! UNBELIEVABLE!! Clearly there was no logical explanation while I I still sitting here.nor did the receptionist get up to check and see what the delay or problem was.

2022-09-06I had an excellent experience at City MD on East 86 Street. I was suffering from a severe cold for more than two weeks. I went to City MD and waited for about 15 minutes before seeing a physician. A chest X-ray was done. It was processed and a diagnosis was prompt. Physician Dr C Otto prescribed an antibiotic that seems to be effective in alleviating my symptoms.

2022-09-07I checked in and after 45 minutes seeing people arriving after me going in, I got up and asked what was my status. She couldnt find me, finally did, told me to take a seat, I would be called soon. After another 30 minutes, and seeing people going ahead of me i left.
