The greatest rip-off for COVID Test ever. Price is ridiculous. Moreover, they don’t simply send you the results via E-Mail ( as promised), you have to install a bloody app, that works only for US citizens. Unfriendly as well. Tourists, don‘t go there! Asked my Hotel to take them off their recommendation list.
I love the fact that it is fast and straight to the point care. And they are not rude, but I am noticing that there is no social distance within the waiting area people with covid is right next to people coming in to get tested and there was a man coughing on people. There is no time out to spray down the place before letting in the next group. If you didnt have it you can possibly catch it if you are sitting right arm to arm space next to someone else. Air is air what you inhale in a room another person will exhale next to you. For example a person smoking a cigarettes that vapor or air is going to hit the face of the person next to them. I called them up to let them know. The lady was nice who spoke to me and said she will look into it. All I can say to others if you see something say something. I
From the moment I walked in, the experience was great. I was greeted and assisted with professionalism. The facility was clean and covid safe practices was upheld. I was seen right away, they listened to what my issue was and treated accordingly. Would definitely recommend if you cant get to your doctor and need to be seen right away.
If only I could leave 0 stars… I have never had a worse experience at a doctors office in my lifetime… I went in because I had Covid and recently got over it but have gotten pretty sick again and explained to the doctor that I have bad health related anxiety. He went on to berate me for coming to get seen if I have health anxiety??? Continued to cut me off and then acted like I was a joke for coming in to be seen. Doctors are suppose to create a comfortable environment and I have never felt so uncomfortable in this type of setting before. Do not go here it is atrocious.
Very nice place everyone is very helpful and understanding except when it came time to see the doctor have chronic bronchitis/pneumonia Ive had this for almost all my life I tried to explain to the doctor what I usually take for this and what helps me she basically told me she doesnt want to hear it she is the doctor I thought that was very inappropriate although I was glad to be seen I still need to go back to my doctor to continue medication so I received poor Dr care at expensive price I dont mind paying after all it is my health you really cant put a price on that but I at least expect it to get complete Care not partial care so now I unnecessarily have to go back to my doctor go through all this over again when it could have all been done here. After reading all reviews I realize that Im not by far the only one feeling Dr care was bad at least the one I saw.. I gave them 5 stars they were actually closed when I got here.. I explained my situation which was quite Xtreme. A really nice dark skin gentleman said ok fill out info on kios he was so kind and understanding the staff were great to me I m in no way trying to trash the place.. everyone was lovely and kind helpful. It was very clean and professional the tech people were so great real down to earth people they made me feel welcomed & very at ease... My only issue lies with the doctor and thats a very huge issue & of course they dont take my insurance.. I WAS told we take all insurance but not mine àfter reading reviews IDK WHAT TO EXPECT I was told$200. but somehow Im not believing it.. so to sum it up great place
Would give zero stars as well if possible. Staff have attitude and wait times on the phone are excessive. Total lies about time frame to receive results of laboratory and no follow up care. They also lie consistently about the wait times to see physicians (they provided estimates that are far longer than it actually takes to see a physician.)
Excellent service. Went to get the COVID-19 Rapid First thing in the morning. The line was of 10 people by 7:20am. Personnel were friendly during the wait in the line. Check-in was a breeze with the scanner, and help was available. Nurse and PA (Samantha) were very nice and professional.I would recommend this place without hesitation.Keep the great work guys!
I would give zero stars if I could. The only person here who has any idea what they’re doing is the doctor I was finally able to see after dealing with the people at the front. I have never met more rude or incompetent people at any citymd in my life. They were beyond snarky and the woman at the front should find a new job where she doesn’t have to speak with people since it’s obviously such an issue for her. I waited to be seen after people who arrived after me were already called in, and then had to wait over 45 minutes because they sent my prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy even after I double checked with the front to make sure I knew the exact right address and name of pharmacy to go to. I would rather go to any other citymd but this one again.
I like the convenience but have concerns with the quality of care.My son had fever and the rapid test for strep came back negative. Three days later, the culture came back positive, which meant antibiotics was started three days too late, aka, my son suffered unnecessarily for three days.Further, the exact same thing happened to me a couple of months back.To be fair, the rapid test is not supposed to be as accurate as the culture. I am posting this comment as a reminder for citymd to check whether the state of the art test is used and whether any tests with higher sensitivity are available.
Came in today because I had a laceration that was repaired by stitches by a wonderful doctor Samantha Berry. She made me laugh and made my visit very warm and welcoming thank you so much. Her assistant was also very pleasant warm and they are a great team. I have been here before and both times my visit is always wonderful with a great staff of people. Thank you for working hard durning this crisis your service’s are truly what being a nurse and doctor is LOVE AND COMPASSION. Urgent Care really does take care of their patients. Never once ever had a bad experience by coming here. And everyone who is complaining about the long wait for the COVID TEST everyone is working hard have patience and give the doctors and nurses a brake they are working endless shifts and they are very exhausted. Yes the lines are long and so is the waiting that is expected so stop complaining about oh it took 2 or 4 hours your not the only one coming in.
I was seen promptly with no appointment on Sunday evening. Staff and doctor were extremely courteous and attentive. Tested and diagnosed me within minutes. Doctor explained diagnosis, treatment plan, and answered questions. Started me on meds in office and had my prescription sent to my pharmacy immediately. Third time in three years I’ve walked in on a weekend feeling miserable and left feeling so glad I went. In my experience, much more efficient than visit to primary care physician. Have never written a review before. Can’t recommend enough. They deserve it, they’re doing a great job.
Great experience - note this location recently changed their Policy for getting seen by a dr/Nurse. Rather than waiting for hrs outside, you need to stop by the location the day of and put your name in a virtual queue. Once it’s your turn you’ll get a text message saying to return within 30min. When I returned I only had to wait 20min to be seen... much better than waiting outside in the cold!
The line is long but worth the wait. I waited about 3 hours on line for a Covid-19 rapid test and received lovely and competent care. The staff was kind and helpful and the doctor very gently swapped by nose. He also explained the testing process simply and his bedside manner was impeccable.
It is unacceptable that after having been under a freezing day with a temperature of 23 degrees Fahrenheit, the urgent care tells you, we are going just to take your name and phone number, and send you a message before your appointment. Is this serious? Why can this just be done online? This center is supposed to be a walk-in clinic. Please let the patient decide if they want to wait or come back, but dont make a person wait almost an hour in the middle of the cold to take their name and give him/her an appointment. It does not make sense! Appointments can be made online or through phones! I DO NOT live next to the Urgent care Walk-in I cant be waiting for almost an hour to get an appointment and then come back. IT IS JUST UNACCEPTABLE!
The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful during check-in and check-out. The nurse and doctor I visited instantly knew my diagnosis and treated me upon their evaluation. The doctor walked through what my diagnosis was and the treatment/medication he recommend I followed. They made sure I was feeling better and had no questions before leaving. Highly recommend going to this location.
I went for rapid COVID-19 Testing, and got in line around 8am on a Saturday. I waited in line for approx 45min after the office opened (9:00am) and my name was put down along with my cell number to be texted back when they were ready to see me. From what I heard, the line had closed about 11am. I was seen for my test at approx 1pm, a little bit later than the estimated 3 hour wait, but when I was inside, I was seen within minutes. Staff was professional, friendly and efficient, they were moving as efficiently as possible, and I received my test results via email within the hour. 10/10, would test there again.
I had to wait 2 hours in line to get a COVID test. I understand the wait times can be long, but the location is so sketchy - there was a shirtless man walking back and forth shouting at the people in line. When I finally got into the waiting room, a drunk woman barged into the CityMD and started shouting (not wearing a mask I might add) and security had to escort her out. If you have to wait for that long to be seen, go to a safer, cleaner location. The physicians were great though.
I went to get covid tested around 1/6/21.7:30am: got on line, the line went around the corner and halfway down the block, Im sure it was longer by the time they opened8:25am: one of the cityMD workers put my name down on an iPad so they could shoot me a text when it was my turn (they estimated several hours time before I could be seen), perfect because I was pretty cold.10:40am: I get my text (you have 30 minutes after getting the text to head back) and walk back over. After I get back I tell the guy in front that I got a text and he ushers me in to check in and fill in personal/insurance info and whatnot. I sit in the waiting room which is pretty empty because of social distancing guidelines, and in about 10 minutes I get called in.11:10am: I explain that I had exposure to a covid positive person, and they explain that based on my situation they recommended the rapid test, and the PCR test. I have my tests done, and check out at the front, and head home11:37am: I get an email about my rapid test, the PCR will take several days.Very happy about the experience, everyone was very kind, and the medical staff were very informative
Super efficient and polite staff. Got there early, before they opened. After queuing for 30 min, I gave them my name and number and I went home. They called me to come in for the test 3 hours later, and I was back in and out of there in 30 minutes and had the results 30 min after that. So I got results within 5 hours of beginning the testing procedure, with no prior account or reference. Excellent service which should be duplicated in every neighborhood.
9.2. 2021 - I understand flooding happens, my area got flooded pretty badly as well. But if the entire city of New York is up and operational with subway and car rush hours there’s no excuse to delay or postpone opening ALL the city MDs across the city. There’s literally a line of people waiting outside for treatment only to be slapped in the face that every City MD is opening two hours late. Some us are running late for work and other activities due to unmanageable symptoms.
Waited a while on the line. But they are organized and make sure to get everyone in and out as quickly as they can. They were very informative and helpful. Answered my questions and explained the test and what would happen before during and after. Great service! Rapid testing was quick and easy and also offer PCR swab test.
Doctor spent ten minutes in the room, rest was handled by staff. I thought this was their attempt at making it more efficient and perhaps cheaper. Had to pay $260 dollars for a simple visit after which I still had to see the specialist. The prescription was sent incorrectly to the pharmacy, ear drops instead of eye drops... .Adding more joy to this review. I tried to reach their billing department. Went through the phone menu. Got to the agent in the billing department who after I stated my problem put me on hold. It was the first thing they did. I waited a few minutes, then not having heard back I disconnected and called again only to find out the billing department working hours are now over.
Ive been a huge fan of CityMD ever since they started opening in Manhattan. This one in particular is great. Friendly front desk staff, speedy service, attentive and patient doctors and Physicians Assistants, and even the intake people who take your vitals are great. I have always felt listened to here, plus its clean and has great hours. When you need a doctor, but dont want to wait for an appointment with your GP, and youre not sick enough for a hospital, CityMD is the place to go!
A long wait time (around 40 min after arriving at 10:30 AM). Nothing you can do about that though since everybody is trying to get tested these days. Staff was super friendly and helpful, pleasant experience overall! Come to the location, they will take great care of you.
They were all friendly, but I am giving this two stars because they lied about how much it would cost over the phone. In person they even tried telling me it was free until I told them my insurance was definitely not going to cover because I havent met my deductible. Ended up getting charged over a hundred dollars more than they said, and no follow up visit included when I still wasnt better after antibiotics.
Efficient and safe covid testing. I walked in about 8:30am, did a self check in at a kiosk and was tested 20 mins later and out the door by 9. My antibodies test results came the next day and my covid test three days after the appointment (my husband’s covid test result came two days after appointment).
Went here once and got what I needed done no problem, but they sent testing to a lab that wasnt full covered by my insurance! I dont go to this location anymore because one closer to me opened up, but now I have to confirm which lab theyre sending it to because Im so paranoid about being hit with a bill again. Also, someone at the front desk never asked me for my ethnicity when filling out my profile. Wasnt too please when the wrong ethnicity was put in for me because she took a look at me and assumed.
Very simply the worst possible service at a medical facility in my life. 90 minutes Of waiting in the room for a doc. Do they know people have jobs and families. I fear the service is worse here because they are only in the neighborhood to exploit profits from low income families and individuals resulting in terrible standard of quality. Avoid at all costs. No matter what they say you and your family deserve quality care.
I would have to give this place 1 star . My opinion only . Went in this weekend since I wasn’t feeling well at all and the lady (appeared to be of Indian decent ) just gave me cough drops and sent me on my way . If I wanted that I would have just gone to the pharmacy and picked that up . Don’t think they are considerate in there even though it’s not free . I would stay be careful when you go . Be alert and make sure they help . Not just sit there .
This was my second visit there, and the experience both times has been great. Friendly, professional, hard working staff, and friendly and caring doctors and technicians. Clean, organized environment - everything moves quickly. I am really grateful this place is my neighborhood. And to everyone working there - a heartfet thank you!
I was visiting from out of town. Didn’t bring my asthma meds. Being a stubborn nurse, I let my asthma attack go too long. When it got unbearable, I ran (wheezed) my way to City MD. They saw my distress and got me right back for meds and a breathing treatment. Excellent, attentive, efficient staff!!!
I came here with congestion and a very bad ear ache on Tuesday, 9/25 and the doctor told me everything was fine, that it was just seasonal allergies. He prescribed me over the counter Claritin and Flonase. I go home and my ear is still in lots of pain and it’s gotten worse. I had a yellow discharge coming out, the lymph nodes in my neck swell up and I was crying in pain. I was clearly misdiagnosed and the doctor didn’t look as carefully as he needed to detect that I have an ear infection. After paying a $50 copay for city MD, I’m now on my way to my ENT specialist so I can get the correct medical attention. I’m extremely disappointed in this doctor at City MD and it’s clear he cared more about getting me out as quickly as possible. I will never return here again and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
The doctor claimed that my husband had strep and flu however paperwork showed negative for strep. Also the medication that was ordered was not consistent with the diagnosis and when we questioned it was told that we were not the doctors and that if we have problems we should take it up with the medical school that this doctor went to
Waited in line for hours for a COVID test and was turned down at the door because they wanted to close at 6:30 on the dot. Mind you the person directly in front of me was tested, so the one additional test was apparently the absolute cut off. Sounds like someone is trying to get home for the NBA draft in time...
Poor excuse for a medical clinic. Went in here and just like other locations, they took samples and did not test the exact thing that we actually needed to test, rather testing something else. The most disorganized unprofessional medical people I’ve ever met. I currently need to get a simple test and now can’t because of corona and not wanting to expose myself. These people absolutely suck
The best City MD! Thank you so much to the Dr. Waggoner and the amazing staff for all their help! & also for the courtsey call to check how Im feeling. I also want to thank the front desk for getting me in to see the Cardiologist the same day. I appreciate all your help.
Unfortunately I have to give CityMD a bad review. Not to the care takers, doctors and nurses, but how CityMD runs its business. In my experience, they just took my money and didnt care about my wellbeing. There was no follow-up; It was impossible to contact my doctor; I didnt get the results in the time I was told I would either. Being on the phone with customer support has been a nightmare - being put on hold for 30 minutes at the time. And when you get through, no one has answers, and you have to start the whole process again.

2022-06-23I needed to get something checked late, so I called just before 7pm & asked if they were accepting walk-ins. They said yes; I got there at 7:30 & they had me out by 7:50. The staff was friendly, understanding & informative. Everything looked clean. They charged me $225 because I didnt have insurance, but other places had quoted more, so it seems reasonable. Would recommend to anyone needing an urgent care facility.

2022-06-24If zero Stars was an option...from the moment you walk in, there is two or three of the workers that always show the same aggressive unfriend behavior. As if youre bothering them. They always look annoyed and response with a hostel tone. Although at times I know its hard to stay in character, but their professionalism is quickly removed. The behavior comes off intimidating. When one is sick one should be treated as so and helped. Not disrespected on a walk-in. The security guard is more concerned what ladies are in the lobby and getting their attention. He spends more time outside hanging out with the street vendors in the front, how professional. The reason I stopped by is because its convenient and nearby where Im at. If I was giving another option, would gladly accept. Fortunate for those who are in need, once you get past the lobby....youre in good hands.

2022-07-28I had a horrible experience at this urgent care. I was spoken to harshly & with judgement. Further, if you want to see an MD, be sure to make sure they have one on staff before paying. I was seen by a PA without being told until after I went to the exam room. I did not feel that anyone listened to me & did not take the time to understand my ailment. I do not recommend going here at all.Just wanted to add that I was asked if they should wrap my wrist. Im sorry, but I came here to be treated, if I knew what you should do I wouldnt be here.

2022-05-16The worst Urgent care. I’m almost convinced there are no real doctors at this location. Each and every time I go there, the “doctor” is always assuming my pain or complaint is nothing to worry about. How do you tell a patient that, whose complaint of back pain, wheezing cough, vomiting. They don’t know how to diagnose any complaint. It’s always your vitals are normal everything should be ok. Just BS. I would not recommend this location. You better off going to the ER.

2022-07-24Had an amazing experience today. staff was attentive, sweet and understanding. I was taken care of immediately and was only met with kindness and care. staff also used gender neutral language while taking care of my urgent issue. 10/10 experience

2022-04-24It’s true, the COVID tests here are a rip off. I was feeling sick, came in to take a test, turned out negative. I found it weird that they say results are a 20-30 minute wait but I didn’t see any results for hours so I got skeptical. After that, I went to Bellevue, got tested there and it was positive. Went home, took another at home test - positive. I knew it had to be positive because I never get sick this time of year, or much at all really, but especially not around this time of year- so I knew something was off. Either they saw me and assumed I was okay based off the way I physically looked (which does happen) or their tests are botched altogether, which isn’t fair especially to those that pay out of pocket.

2022-07-21My wife just had a really bad experience here. CityMD seems to prey on the urgency factor. Part of a larger issue with the healthcare system, but CityMD seems to be more of a villain than a helpless participant. She had a $50 copay, didnt even see a doctor, and really didnt come out of there with any helpful information regarding her next steps for treating her ailment. She had to get X-Rays and is still not convinced they took images of the site of the injury. They concluded no bones were broken but then asked her, Do you think we should wrap it? The medical professionals posed that question to my wife, the patient. Not sure what other urgent care options there are in NYC, but God I hope there are others.

2022-07-03They committed two separate medical errors when I last went to them. First, they made me come back to re-test after they failed to properly take a test. Then they lost a test result (or maybe mislabeled it? its a mystery). When I called to follow up, they were adversarial and made me speak to several different people over the course of an hour before they would even allow me to leave a complaint (havent gotten a refund yet). Remarkable. Ill never go again. UPDATE: After visiting them again calling them three or four times, Ive finally been able to get a refund.
