If I could give less than one star I would. This place has always been sub par compared to other urgent care centers like pro health Roslyn. When I went in to get a rapid covid test I was told that I was going to be an hour and a half wait, and that I could wait in my car or outside the building for 30 minutes and then come back in. I went to grab something to eat for a half hour and came back into the clinic. After an hour and a half of waiting I had to get up and go to the front desk to ask what was going on. The receptionist told me that I had been taken off the waiting list because I had been seen leaving the premises. The receptionist proceeded to call the back and said that she would get me looked at ASAP. I sat down and waited for another 45 minutes until I had to get up and go to the receptionist for the second time. After that I was able to finally get get tested after 3 hours of waiting. I was told that because I left in the beginning that I was taken off the list. When I was done I went to the receptionist to voice my concerns about their wait time and being able to leave for half an hour, which I stated in a calm manner. The receptionist said “well your done now, you can leave”. I would never recommend this urgent care to any person on the face of this earth. Not to mention this citymd also have made mistakes about covid results in the past. This place is horrible and the front desk receptionists are as rude as can be.
This place should be shut down. A poor excuse for a facility. Went on Monday requesting a rapid and pcr test tech swabbed 3 of us I specifically said is that for both rapid and pcr dumb woman said yes. Come to find out that it was only rapid 3 days later sick as could be had to go back there for pcr. Still waiting for results, its been 5 days. The incompetent people and doctors should lose their license to practice. A disgrace of a facility DO NOT GO to City MD in Mineola. HOPEFULLY the state will shut them down. Every review i just read was a terrible one at least I know its not just my experience.
I went to CItyMD to get a PCR test and patiently waited for more than an hour. I never received my results. I called the office to notify them and was provided a different number. I called the other number and after holding for more than 1.5 hours, they hung up on me. When I called to tell the office that I was unable to speak to anyone at the number they provided, the receptionist abruptly cut me off and just kept repeating that they could not provide my test results. I was unable to speak the entire time as the receptionist just kept repeating the same thing over and over again -- never allowing me the opportunity to even speak. They obviously lost it but rather than admit it, tried to direct me to a different number that just hangs up on you. After more than a month, I have yet to get my results. I found the receptionist to be incredibly unprofessional and wouldve accepted the fact that mistakes do happen but they never acknowledged it.
Bad experience. They told me they would give me a detailed report on my antibody testing bit after 3 days and no email from them, they tell me it’s just a positive report. No details on the report. Also they hung up on me twice when I called to ask about this miscommunication. Very disappointed with the way they treat patients here. Sorry. I do not recommend going there. The blood test itself was done well. That’s something I thank the pregnant lady who drew my blood. Thanks.
If I didn’t have COVID before I got here, I probably have it after. Their waiting room situation is unsafe and irresponsible. This location has no social distancing options and a extremely sick man sat down next to me after he announced he was sick to the room with his mask off. When asked if I could wait outside I was told “we’re going to skip you” - unprofessional and unsafe. Will never return
Dr. Damori was a breath of fresh air. Spent more than 15min carefully explaining and answering questions without rushing out. Even provided research and online reference material for the topic we discussed. They don’t make them like him anymore. Back end staff was friendly and helpful. Our go-to place for quick medical needs.
I was impressed from the minute I called to ask about appointments and if they took my insurance. The front desk person was wonderful. Check in was easy and the entire staff was wonderful. The place is spotless. I felt very comfortable being here during a pandemic. I was in and out in no time and my medication was ready at my pharmacy in 20 min. The doctor was gentle, caring and very professional. He diagnosed me and explained with pictures what was wrong. He also explained the medication and how I should take it. I will definitely be back and recommend family and friends. Thank you so much CityMD
The WORST urgent care. Dr. Havasy was super dismissive and the rest of the staff rush you too. I was misdiagnosed here and when I tried to call back they put me on hold for hours and never got a resolution. They don’t listen to you nor do they care about your well-being. Don’t bother. Also if you’re looking for reasonably timed covid testing look elsewhere. I’ve been to other urgent cares and got results 1-2 days later during peak pandemic. This place takes almost a week.
Good for rapid covid test! Walk in, check in on the kiosk, get called right away to sign insurance paper (or lack of), then they call you in, check vitals, doctor comes in to make sure everything is ok and get email results within 15 mins. Not good for baby issues. I brought my baby as she was seriously constipated and the doctor just said they don’t handle a lot of babies there and referred me to a pediatric center. At least he was honest.Staff is courteous and efficient.
Great experience as a first timer. I barely waited to be helped when I checked in. The staff and Dr were all very friendly and helpful. The Dr. really took his time to explain my condition and told me what to do. I had a great visit . so I highly recommend this clinic.
This was very clean office to visit for my Covid test. This was my first time at CityMD in this location on Herricks Rd., Mineola area. The staff were very organized courteous and helpful in many ways. I signed in, then was told to wait in my car until they text me. I liked that I did not have wait outdoors in the cold. I recommend this place to anyone. Thank you staff at CityMD.
Went two days before Thanksgiving for a Covid test. Arrived at 7:20, the line was around the block, the center opened at 8. Finally walked in the door three hours later expecting to find tires, harried, impatient employees. However, what we experienced was completely different. They couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful and patient. The whole process from registration to seeing the doctor after the test was seamless and timely. We were finished in twenty minutes and our results were emailed by the time we for home.
Very busy for COVID test. I got in line 6:32 am with CityMD opens 8:00 am. Already 15 patients ahead of me in line. Probably 75 in line by 8:00 am opening. Staff gave us hand warmers as we waited outside in rain . Staff was helpful at sign in on portal . Staff took good history. Physician told me I would be called immediately if I was COVID positive. I was emailed my negative result in 85 minutes. Very professional staff.
I have been going to this particular City MD in Mineola since it opened. They have always been spot on with whatever I go to them for. Always kind and curteous and always right in their diagnosis. This last time i went i was in urgent need of help. They immediately sent me to the hospital because my blood pressure topped out and I almost had a stroke. If they hadnt acted quickly and made sure I knew the urgency of my situation i wouldnt be here to write this review. Or at the very least I wouldnt have been able to make this review. Their quick reaction to me and my needs got me the proper care I needed in order to come out of it alive and completely healthy instead of an invalid or dead. Even the doctor at St Francis hospital said I was very lucky to be alive. My meds have been adjusted and my blood pressure is as close to normal than it has been in years. Thank you to all the doctors and staff at City MD of Mineola. Your care for me and my family is greatly appreciated and this time, it saved my life. Gratefully yours, Lillian Johnson
The only reason why I’m giving this 1 star because the ladies at the desk were very helpful and welcoming. However the x-Ray TECHNICIAN was so rude she didn’t even care about my situation she just didn’t want to service me at all. So DISGUSTING picking and choosing who she wants to work with.
I have moderate to severe asthma and live with someone that had close contact with someone that tested positive for covid. The nurse gave me a hard time and almost refused to give me the PCR test because I wasn’t in direct contact with a the positive result. Only reason they aren’t getting one star is because the doctor ended up coming in and being great. Just doesn’t sit well with me that they almost turned me away from a PCR test when I have underlying health issues that make it unsafe for me to get covid...
Usually I had good experiences at this location Not today 07/18/20 however. When I called to inquire, they told me they do X-rays. However when I saw their doctor, he said I need to see my primary doctor first. I was then charged $50 copay for the visit and I am sure they will send an additional large bill to my insurance . I think they could have told me to get a script from my primary before seeing their doctor. Spoke to the manager who had an attitude, all she can say is you saw the doctor so the charge stands. The doctor, a young DO, also was not nice, some what arrogant and lectured me about X-ray. I think most of what he told me was in-accurate.
In this electronic age, there is absolutely no reason to make folks visit the location twice to get a covid test. Once just to leave your name and number for a callback. It’s not 1985. Why do you expose folks unnecessarily to sick people twice when it can be done in just one visit after a phone call? Why bring folks in just to give you their name and callback number when that can be done over the phone? It is ridiculous. It shows the firm doesn’t respect the health or time of the patients.
When ever possible I try to avoid this city md. But I needed to come. They close earlier then what is posted on their website and one their door. They are supposed to close at 8 but they always close much earlier. It is unfair to advertise that they are open till 8 when it is clearly not the case. If they stop allowing patients in at 7:30 then it should be posted. I called this location and I asked what time can people walk in and she replied up till 8. When I stated that I tried to enter earlier she said if they had high volume they stop letting people in at 7. It is not stated on their website.
My husband and I just waisted over an hour sitting outside to be turned away by the rude staff that works here, including a doctor. Apparently they come out and give cards to the rest of the people theyre able to see before closing. They did this at 12:30 and apparently they stopped testing at 2:30.Nobody came out after 12:30 to announce that they were no longer testing for Covid. I only found out from someone far up in the line. We were about where their cut off was and could have easily been seen.Additionally, Im 7 & 1/2 months pregnant and that meant nothing. If I could give this place -5 stars I would. They clearly are not operating with compassion or any type of operational standards. I have been in very close proximity to someone with Covid and they still refused to see us.There is NO excuse for this.
I usually have a good experience here, but last night my daughter was experiencing a tight cough, and an overall sick feeling. My daughter, who today, is vomiting, showing flu symptoms and has an intense headache, was told last night “you don’t look sick”. My thoughts are “what an unprofessional thing to say!” I doubt I can ever go back to this clinic again, especially since this doctor was so clearly wrong!
I went for a covid-19 test the person who did the test was amazing I did not feel like I was going to lose my brain she did put the swab in my nostrils and she did a very thorough job but bought me no pain which to me is a very important thing also the staff was very friendly the doctors answered all my questions and concerns so I would recommend to all friends and family the staff as well as the doctors were so professional it was smooth from beginning to end also I like their high-tech check in it was also easy and very fast to check in
Shahram Mekhoubad, MD was rude and dismissive of my pain. I came in with a sore throat so bad I couldn’t eat or swallow or sleep I asked for a pain reliever as over the counter not working and I was suffering he acted like a was a drug addict looking for my fix of narcoticsHORRIBLE I left with ZERO help for my situationTerrible attitude from staff never again
Showed up on New Year’s Day for an antibody test at 12:20 when the website and their door states they are open till 1pm and was told they were closed. I could understand closing 5-10 minutes early but a whole 40 seems absolute ridiculous. I also understand it’s New Year’s Day but there was no line and it would have taken a total of 15 minutes.
I dont usually care to write reviews but I do not recommend anyone to come to this place if you want professional medical care. My doctor examination lasted maybe 5 minutes because he did nothing for me. I told him what was wrong and he gave me some brief counseling on what could be the problem before leaving. I left this place still in pain and not any wiser besides the common sense to not do things that makes my pain worse. DO NOT COME HERE FOR MEDICAL CARE.
Cant trust the staff and the physicians here. I was diagnosed wrong by Dr. Avella back in 2017. I felt embarrassed by going in there and felt so judged and after all I WAS DIAGNOSED WRONG! I will never step in this place. They have so many people working here and none of them are professional especially the Scribes. I DONT KNOW why they even need scribes when they have so many medical assistants, etc. they make things uncomfortable.
Ive been at the fabulous practice for many years, and have been well cared for each time, but last month was saved by a diagnosis Dr. Avella made. She saw me, ran tests and sent me immediately to the hospital. After hours in the ER, my surgeon told me that they found an extremely hard to detect ulcer and it was only because Dr. Avella drew such attention to x-ray results on her report, that they were able to test for it and get me into the OR quickly. She is an amazing diagnostician and works with skilled nurses and technicians. I highly recommend the practice!!
My mother 88 years had a leg infection flabitis due to lymphedema. The area on her leg had two large boils leaking fluid from hot water soaks. The doctors and or Doctor assistant refused to triage the condition. They did not prescribe an antibiotic. Or prescribe a pain killer. And the doctors did nof provide an medicated anointment dressing with a bandage wrap. The doctor at citymd told us to go to an emergency room at a hospital. We went to emergency at Winthrop hospital in Mineola ny. The wait time was for several hours. My mother could not wait. The purpose of Urgent care is to prevent emergency room visits. And urgent care facilities in New York state are not regulated. We want a refund of our insurance copy and a reprimand and dismissal of all employees at Citymd mineola ny.
I’ve been coming to CityMD Mineola for a long time and even though there are many other urgent care centers popping up closer to me, I rather take the extra drive to CityMD Mineola because I trust their doctors, the front desk is always very welcoming, and I know that I will be taken care of properly. I came in last Monday 5/7 because my allergies were bad, and I lost my voice completely. Dr. Samuel instructed me what take, and I slowly started getting better. Yesterday, I took a turn for the worst and came back in today and saw Dr. Avella. She was extremely thorough and prescribed me medicine to help me get better. Excellent visit as always and is always worth the extra drive be seen by them.
I visited City MD mid-January re: unusual pain in my knee and restricted use following deep twist and loud popping sound. I asked for an X-ray in order to obtain an MRI script, which I discussed thoroughly with the doctor. I knew damage had occurred however almost positive none of the bones were broken. Instead of addressing my concern, the doctor encouraged me to go home and ice for a few days. I remained persistent in my conviction, this was not just a strain and I need an X-ray/probably an MRI. Her clinical judgement ultimately disregarded these concerns solely due to lack of swelling to the area. I was eventually diagnosed by an accredited institution, after waiting period for my appointment to arrive, subluxing patella/bone busing and joint sprain. There was significant inflammation on MRI despite appearance. My recovery was delayed due to their lack of attention. This review is specific to the Mineola location --- I originally visited Carle Place where the doctor urged me to head over to Mineola where the X-ray technician was available that day. The doctor at Mineola seemed more occupied with keeping appointments short. Meanwhile this injury was grave, as I am still in recovery beginning March.
Had a nice experience until today until two of the workers there shout at us AFTER we arrive @3:18pm to tell us that they’re no longer taking ppl after 3:30pm. Very rude & disrespectful no need to shout at ppl. They couldn’t of been nice & taken us after since it was 3:18pm
Not impressed. Long wait once you are stuck into the little room and some child in a white coat comes in to take your vitals. Who are they? What are their qualifications? Then, half an hour later, a doctor comes in; spends 2 mins with you and that is that. No talk; no eye contact. Next time, it is the ER for me.
I had a terrible experience here. I needed a basic hearing test for my school and was yelled at by an actual doctor. Dr. Jane told me I was wasting her time and when she left the room I could hear her raising her voice to other staff about how she couldnt be bothered with my hearing test. Will not be back ever.
This doctor is a crook she didn’t help us at all only wanted the co payment we only went in there for 5 mins and she told us to goto cvs and get an over the counter drug and to pay the $40 it was shocking not even showed any kind of care in her heart she was heartless and unprofessional! Never coming back here again!!
I arrived here today to get a Covid test because a coworker tested positive I got here at 2:30 stood outside until 304 and then a nurse came out and says you guys can all leave because we stop testing at 3 o’clock they could of told us sooner instead of making a stand outside in the cold came out and told us instead of standing six people away

2021-10-13Honestly the staff in the office is not bad, Ive been there twice due to uti infections. Theyre incredibly helpful and nice. The medical assistant are awesome & the doctors themselves.I called them yesterday to obtain results from Saturday morning and was informed I needed to hold for aftercare. I was on hold for almost 2 hours ( which I did not mind) I completely understand theyre incredibly busy and backed up. But a minute before 7 it hangs up on me to advise the office is closed.I called about 25 minutes ago to inquire if I could at least have a copy faxed or emailed & was told Im not the only one and need to wait. Then a young girl (bad attitude) proceeded to hang up on me twice. [Like I get it mama, youre over your job, you hate it their probably want to quit but cant.. because just like the rest of us you need your job to pay bills.]Which I hope she reads this.I was incredibly nice to them. I work for a doctors office I know how stressful it is but there was no need for that. My MDs office even called to try and obtain the report but nothing. I know their office manager is called Jackie and again I hope the office manager reads this. Patients can be rude and hard to deal with but that doesnt give you any right. Especially when the patient (myself) am being understanding & trying to find a solution with them.Good luck to anyone called aftercare!

2022-06-03I tried to pay in cash and receptionist said (with attitude) that I can only pay if I have exact amount because they have no money. So I either had to give them an extra $10 or pay with card. I had credit card but what about people who dont? Is this what a medical facility does?

2020-11-10I went to CitiMD on the 6th of November waited on a long line which understandable with the current situation that is going on. I saw a doctor named Stephanie Havasy. I told him my symptoms and he asked me a bout COVID and I told him my wife was exposed and and I caught it as I had a few days with no smell back in April. But he wanted me to the test to check for the virus and not for antibody. And guess what he wanted me to do 2 of them which one gives a result in 15 min and another in 5 days. This test is a painful procedure where they put this thing in to the deep side of the nose.First he did one and he came with the second one and I asked him what is this for and he tells me this is the rapid one. I asked him why didnt he do it first bc both of them gives the same result. He gave me a BS answer for it and I said no to the test. What they are trying to do is insurance fraud by charging 2 times for the test. They dont care if it hurts or whatever they just want to get that money.Since I denied it he felt challenged and screwed up my sick form. My 4 year old son could do a better job writing it in than him.I called the office back since my work didnt accept it and they tell me I have to see the doctor again and I have to wait in line again. All I wanted is a correction on my sick form and they want me to see the doctor so that they can charge insurance/out of pocket again!!!All this should be exposed and stay away from this location. I will be writing on all social media platforms regarding this and will be doing this for the next 6 months constantly and tell everyone I know!Stay away!Stay away!Stay away!Insurance fraud!Insurance fraud!Insurance fraud!

2021-10-12A terrible excuse for an urgent care. Going here is not only a miserable experience, but dangerous. I had a sample done for abdominal pain I was having and never received the results, to this day, and when I called to ask about them 2 weeks later, the lady on the phone told me that “results take 2-3 days” and hung up the phone. It had been 2 weeks. Well, it turns out I had a life threatening infection that I was hospitalized for, for 4 nights (I was able to get test results in the hospital confirming this). The results still do not appear in the Summit Health app, which is literally useless. When I press on the results, a blank white page pops up. Fast forward to recently I had some blood work done, and again, no results on my app (surprise!) The lady on the phone was nice this time, but had me on hold with a laboratory that I’ve been on hold for almost 3 hours now, listening to the same VERY ANNOYING music. I have also received numerous emails telling me that my results are ready, and when I click the link, I get a “this web page cannot be found” message. The long and short of it is, if you want to pay money to have tests done that you will never get the results for, even if they may kill you, you can go to this urgent care. Otherwise, it’s useless, and dangerous.

2018-07-30Had a great experience here, the ladies on the front desk were great at helping me find out how much a certain blood work would cost. They made calls and found out the price for me. I was in and out in half an hour. Will be coming here again.

2021-06-18I came to this office close to closing time in need of test results for COVID testing before traveling. The staff went out of their way to reassure me and provided me with all of the necessary paperwork for my trip. I was so appreciative of their help, and the detailed paperwork they printed for me successfully fulfilled my travel document needs. And the fact they still saw me so close to closing time was so much appreciated as I was in a time sensitive situation. I would recommend anyone to come to this office. Thank you to the staff again!
