Visiting New York from California, I came here for a Covid test and staff at this location was courteous and very professional.. team member who helped me check in, young lady who escorted me to the room, nurse who administer the test and the doctor who came in and gave me the good news of my negative results, everyone was exceptional… thank you for the great service…
Went to this clinic on 8/3/21, I had a great experience. Staff and the doctor that saw me were really helpful. However, I want to give a big shout out to the security guard that was there that evening. She was going above and beyond in helping patients there, i enjoyed her positive personality. Wait time is as expected in any other urgent care. I waited about 1.5 hours. Clean facility.
In case no one knows, if you come here for Covid testing, you’ll be on a long, unnecessary line, only to be put on a virtual waiting list, where you can at least wait in the comfort of your home, until it’s your turn. They notify you via text that you have 30 minutes to get there to get tested. And even when you get there, expect to wait at least an hour to be called. All of this wouldn’t be that bad, if there was an option to do all of this online, or over the phone, in order to avoid waiting hours on a line in the cold.
I would give no starts. Unprofessional and rude from staff to doctors- especially their doctors who apparently think it is appropriate to scream and yell at people. Tired of medical professionals treating people like animals or no respect. Civility and respect are a sign of intelligence and you have some rabid animals practicing at this location who think memorizing things makes them better than other people- DR. MIKE (AKA ***hole).
Worst clinic I’ve ever been to! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Receptionists are rude and uninformed. It took over a half hour to be able to wait inside. When inside it took me two hours to get seen for my broken finger. They call patients in groups, like 8 at a time, instead of being smart and calling someone in when a different patient leaves and a room is empty. Took over 20 minutes in a room to have a nurse see me. This place is absolutely the worst. If I could give zero stars I would!
I like this place, very clean and efficient service. The only drawback is that they close at 11:00 PM and online the CityMD website says the last patient they take in is 30 minutes prior to closing (10:30)… this place takes their last patient once they reach capacity and that can be as early as 7:00 PM. Definitely call before wasting your time.
I went to this facility with low expectations, based on previous experience with other urgent care providers, but I was pleasantly surprised. The waiting room was clean and pleasant, and the staff was friendly and professional. The doctors I saw were also very friendly and confidence-inspiring. Although the facility was crowded, the wait wasnt bad at all and I was in and out quickly. (This was not for Covid testing, but for an injury.) Recommended.
Fantastic! Truly top notch care! As an RN with over 25 years of experience under my belt , I understand what excellent medical care should look like....this place is wonderful. From the moment I walked in the staff were friendly and helpful, the medical assistant really listened to my concerns and the physician made such a spot on diagnosis....far superior to what my experience would have been at a PCP or ER...I was in and out quickly and my chest X ray was read in record time. This place is a gem!
A 1-min rapid COVID test for my 9 year old took literally 6 hours - first checked in after 10am, did not get called back until after 1pm, and ultimately spent another 3 hours waiting in a closed space without ventilation and AC. The professionals in the office refused to acknowledge that she is a minor unvaccinated and more shocking than that, they lack the professional understanding that any patient there with COVID concern should be taken care of promptly to prevent potential spread.
I’m usually not this inflamed but seriously everytime I get a rapid test here the wait is hours upon hours longer. Today I signed in for their virtual queue at 11:26 am. It is currently 7:05 PM and I am in the waiting room but haven’t been tested yet. The only reason I even made it back inside is because I called multiple times every 2 hours practically begging for a test. Last time I was here I waited for 3 hours, which comparatively feels like a blessing. Even after being called back to the waiting room, I seriously waited for another 2 hours. The rapid test which was supposed to take 15 minutes took about 2 hours. I know they’re busy as there are consistently 30-40+ people waiting but it’s still ridiculous
The team was very unprofessional, especially the woman who work the front desk. They continued to engage in “out of work” talk about how they’re “turning up this summer” instead of advising me & my family of the proper precautions we should take while awaiting our Covid results. On top of that, we were told that we would be contacted directly if the results are positive. I got my results back first while my bf was still waiting for his, after 2 days I shared the link I received so he could check his, only to find out he was positive & the results were available for 3 days while no one contacted him. He called the office to find out why he wasn’t contacted, & the only response from the “medical professionals” who answer the phone was that he’s positive & pure silence, no advice, no precautions to take, nothing. So for 3 days while awaiting results, more people were put at risk of infection because we were not properly advised.
I came to the Riverdale City MD expecting that it would be better than the Fordham/Jerome site. However, it was by far worse than the other site and probably worse than going to a regular ER. It took me 30 mins just to check-in on the 1 kiosk that they have. There were so many people on line just trying to check in and the 2 women at the front desk did nothing. I truly regretted coming to this location but because I was so sick had very little energy to travel to the Fordham location. They also had you leave the clinic without your results. In the Fordham location you left the clinic knowing whether your covid test was positive or negative. What is surprising is that the Fordham location is always busy yet the employees are efficient and are moving at a fast pace. At the Riverdale location it seems that the employees are not motivated to provide excellent service. This is my first and last time coming to the Riverdale location.
Had a v good experience at City MD office in Btonx, on Broadway and West 237 St. (In small mall). I was bleeding on my feet on one hand from broken glass. They cleaned the wounds, x-rayed them to be sure there was no glass in them, and stitched up 5 spots that needed it. Because I was bleeding, they took me right away. All of the staff were professional and courteous. They accepted Medicare insurance. I am very glad I wind here instead of to a hospital ER
***The Only way you can get your Covid pcr results is by downloading the Summit Health app.***I went through a very stressful experience with CityMD’s new online system. I tried searching for my results in their online portal through summit health and found nothing. I did not receive an email, a phone call, or a text to notify me of my results although, I signed up to receive all of these alerts on the day I registered for the portal. The front desk was not helpful. She said if I didn’t receive a notification or email then my results were not in without asking for my information to double check and search for my results. When I finally downloaded the app I found my results and it was dated to have been reported two days prior to me calling CityMD. This is very stressful because you have someone that could possibly be sick waiting and delaying the process of treatment because someone couldn’t take the time to check for results or give clear instructions.I want to be able to come here, but it’s always a very frustrating experience. The manager was nice enough to lend her support and services. She was very understanding of the circumstances. I really hope their service and communication gets better.
Horrible service. Kept me for three hours after Id scheduled my appointment well in advance. Staff ignored me. Did not answer my questions. Did not communicate with each other. Nurses were rude and the doctor never showed up. I had to leave before they could finish the physical Id scheduled. Walk ins were told they would wait four hours, I was on my third hour and the doctor still hadnt seen me. Never go here.
Worse Urgent care in the area. The wait time is longer than other locations, staff is really rude including security and they dont prioritize sick kids. Better off going to PM Pediatrics or AFC Urgent Care. Do not recommend this place if you are sick or need urgent attention.
I believe people are better at a urgent care than coming here. The wait was a hour and 30 mins just to get tested. Was told I was going to get my results back in 3-5 business days. Someone will call me or the results would be on the portal. It’s been a week and a half and nobody has yet to call or put it on the portal. When you call to check for your lab results they put you on hold for about an hour.!!! Not kidding this place is ridiculous and would not recommend.!
I checked in for a COVID test, and was told I didn’t need to wait there, and that they would text me when my turn was up in about two hours. They texted me almost four hours later, and I had to wait another 2 hours in the waiting room. The only good part of the experience was the greeter/security guard, who was fantastic. I will not return to this place.
Waited 6 hours for a COVID test. The message when you call says “just walk in!”…. Not…. When I finally got tested, I waited at home for my results which are typically available in 15-20 mins. Nope, had to call and was told that the person who inputs results was “very busy”….and the receptionist would tell her to get my results inputted so I could get my results. She was ready to hang up on me without even asking my name!!!! Never again…. Have to find a better place for these stopgap services.
The receptionist that checked me and my 14 yr. old son in for a COVID test was rude and abrupt. We were put on a waitlist and was told they would notify us 30 minutes prior to our appointment, which wasnt a set time. It was based on how many people were ahead of us. We were 35th in line. 3 hours later, we were 16th in line. We were not allowed to wait in the waiting area at City MD until we were notified a half hour beforehand. We basically roamed around the neighborhood for hours. They eventually notified us 4 hours later but we had already gone home so we were not seen. Such a waste of time and ridiculous system. Needless to say, I will never return to City MD. We had another off-putting experience at one of their locations in midtown Manhattan. We arrived at 2:30pm and was told they werent seeing anyone else, even though they close at 6pm. So much for accessible COVID testing. They shouldnt take walk-ins, if they cant accommodate them. They should schedule appointments in advance, so people arent waiting 4 hours to be seen.
Even though theres an urgent care within walking distance from me, I go the extra commute to be at this location.I have been in and out of there with Covid issues and the staff is incredibly professional and polite. The nurse Leosha spent extra time sharing knowledge with me on how to get better from COVID. She also remembered me. The front desk was sharp and friendly.Dr. Ting Tu was my doctor and he answered all of my questions thoroughly and patiently. Highly recommend this location.
I had a great experience getting a rapid test at citymd. I explained my situation and was given information on the likelyhood of having a positive result. The exam was quick and was covered by my insurance. I waited around 30 minutes after walking in the the facility and everyone was friendly and helpful.
The only reason I’m giving this a 1 star is because I there is no other choice and because the technicians are very kind. However the doctor who “saw”me did absolutely nothing. I went in with a sore throat that radiates to my ears. This doctor literally said to me “you just have to wait it out.” He was in the room less than 2 minutes, I walked out of there so confused. Worst experience at a CityMD.
Go elsewhere. I had my health care provider call first. Then I went and registered for a COVID test. I was told they would text me when I should come back (about 2-3 hours). After 4 hours and no text I called them. They said not to worry. I am guaranteed a spot since I already registered. I never received a text. I called the next day and was told to come in as soon as I could and that they would see me right away. When I got there they told me sorry but this is a first come first served policy and that I needed to register again and wait my turn. The place was packed and I was not going to waste another day waiting. Even though they Acknowledged that I was there the day before and it was their mistake I was told I would still have to wait. That is just poor service!
Go elsewhere if you want PCR testing. I waited FOUR HOURS, much of it spent on the sidewalk outside the buliding, to get the test and now, 4 days later, still no results. What if it is positive? I could be spreading COVID for days while waiting for the results. I just called them to ask for the results, and was immediately put on hold.
Called for Covid 19 PCR results since I havent received my results in 5 days, was placed on a 30+ minute hold. Called back and was placed on another hold. Asked for the manager and they hung up. Quality service at its finest. No updates , no results, no problems as per the wonderful team at City MD riverdale.
My son came in complaining of terrible headaches. Was sent home with no follow up. I took him to Columbia ER Saturday night (a few hours later) - they admitted him, diagnosed and treated his migraine. Identified the trigger as sinus infection and provided treatment, a treatment plan and appropriate medicine. Been going to CityMD for many years, never had such a bad experience.
I went here a couple of nights back. I got there at 8:40pm (they close at 9:30) there were about 7 people inside waiting to be seen. As I go to walk in, a security guard gets up and tells me I have to come back the next day because there’s no doctor there at that time to see me. A patient walks out, I ask her if there’s a doctor inside and she says yes. I made a complaint to the supervisor there, I guess he thought giving me some mini CityMD hand sanitizer sprays were going to fix my issue. They have no empathy at this location and act like they don’t want to do their job.Update 10/5/2021Here with my child who needs to be seen and the two front desk receptionists need to take a course on professionalism. They do not know how to speak with patients. Very disturbing to sit here and witness the way they speak to people. Definitely not coming back to this CityMD again. They definitely make the company look bad.
Good environment ,nice nurses, front desk lady was very impatient and rude. The doctor Ting Tu who does nostril swab for COVID-19 test told me don’t grab him if I feel pain, wow! What an attitude! I will never go to this Place again , those people are sick in their mind.
Went in for a non Covid related issue. The staff was very friendly, my nurse evidently was new and although it took her a bit of time to get through the exam, she was good. I noticed how the doctor and other nurses supported her in learning what she had to do. It was great to see
I went there because I wasn’t feeling okay and the doctor didn’t help at all, his only solution was to risk me into getting unnecessary radiation by getting a scan. Went to the emergency room after leaving here and came to find out that I was really sick and the scan he was trying to make me get was not necessary and he was ignoring all the symptoms I was telling him I had. The nurse also had a attitude and kept slamming the door every time she came in and out the room..wouldn’t recommend this urgent care.
They really should be clear about COVID Testing10:15am arrival and was told about 2 hrsIt’s 2:15pm now. 4 hrs for a Rapid test is crazy. I’ve had many COVID test performed and alway less than an hour. They just want the volume and really don’t have any idea. They just keep as many people as they can without regard
My experience at the CityMd on 238 Broadway was amazing. The staff was very pleasant and professional. The CDC rules were on place every body on the waiting area were 6ft with masks on. I was there for non-Covi relate issues and the Dr. who took care of me was nice, friendly and professional. I saw many patients waiting for a Covi test I think Citymd it’s really helping the community to deal with this pandemic. I personally think the waiting time at any Citymd it’s much less than any Emergency room, and they provide us with antibiotics prescription if it needed or any medication needed. My opinion we need to leave the hospital capacity for those patients who are on chronic condition. God Blessed all CityMD staff.
Actually I would give this place NO STARS if that was an option. Heres the answer I gave when they asked about whether there was anything positive or negative I wanted to say about my treatment there:Yes. My intake and exam were botched because of confusion among the various people who took my history and the details of my symptoms. THEN you made dueling appointments for me (without telling me) to get an ultrasound, which I received on the 20th at NY Presbyterian. On the 23rd, Mount Sinai started calling wondering why I wasnt there for the ultrasound -- the appointment you didnt tell me about. Followed by someone from your office calling and asking why I had gone to NYP. Of course, you guys made that appointment, but you said you had no record of that. THEN I got the ultrasound results through the NYP patient portal, but heard nothing from you for several days. I keep getting text messages to call you, but when I do nobody answers. I even forwarded the test results to your Aftercare page (although I think you might consider renaming it Afterlife, since thats apparently when I can expect to hear back from you). As I type this I have been on hold for ONE. HOUR. AND FORTY minutes trying to get through to Aftercare again. That song is getting pretty tired. I have no idea what my diagnosis is after more than a week of seeking care at your office. Easily the WORST medical care I have received in 68 years on this planet. So I was surprised when they asked me to post something on Google, but there it is. By the way, Im now up to nearly 2 HOURS on hold trying to get back in touch with them.
They were able to squeeze me in on a Sunday, so I definitely appreciate that. The waiting room is large enough to avoid being within 6 feet of others. The front office staff are nice and friendly enough. The medical staff are competent and friendly, even at the end of the day.Wait times likely vary widely. Late Sunday afternoon/early Sunday evening, I was in and out within an hour and a half. Ymmv.
If I could leave zero, I would. I went to Kingsbridge location, wasn’t feeling well, and tested positive for Covid. The nurse practitioner at this location asked me if I was vaccinated, when I told her no, she said that’s the reason I got Covid. I explained to her that four of my coworkers are all fully vaccinated, and they all tested positive, giving me the virus themselves. The nurse practitioner, Went on to say the difference between myself and them is they don’t have to go to the hospital, and they won’t die. Indicating that I would have to go to the hospital, and that I would die. She also went on to say that I should not believe what I see on TickTock, I explained to her that I am 49 years old, and I don’t even know what Tik Tok is. Her bedside manners were horrible. Don’t know how she’s a nurse practitioner. I believe she should be fired. I do not recall her name, but she was an older white woman
This urgent care center did an incredible job for me on a holiday weekend. The staff was kind. I was seen quickly. I needed to go to an Emergency Room for more testing --- to confirm what the doctor thought --- and the doctor recommended the best place to go on a holiday for a short wait. She was right. I was well taken care of. There was expertise and kindness. Thank you.
This office is really doing everything possible to help our community during this crazy times where doing a simple lab test involves hours of waiting on line. Due to high demand of Covid testing. They followed up through texting updating my turn on line for hrs.Walked in and the entire staff was nice and pleasant even though they were there for hrs working a lot. To me that’s a great service,😉😃 THANK YOU!!
I went there with my father, he does not speak English. I told them he could not communicate in English and I needed to make sure he got what he needed specially a flu shot. When he went in, nothing was done how we spoke in the front. I was promised he would go with some that speaks his language and he was given to someone who he couldnt communicate with. When my father told me he didnt get the shot, I came back inside and she said that he had to say something while he was in the room, because she was not there and that it was too late , the doctor had clocked out. This was not even 8 minutes after he had left the room. I told her that I explicitly said he couldnt communicate in English and I had told before he went in what he needed. My father asked me not to come back to that City MD because he wouldnt trust them again. That made me think of my father had a worse medical condition and I had communicated it to the front desk he would be in danger , because obviously there is no communication from the front desk personnel to the medical personnel in the rooms. With the exception of the nice lady in the room, we are so disappointed on the way we were treated. Specially by the frontdesk lady.
Check in was fast, little to no wait. Nurses were so friendly and inviting. Doctor Robert introduced himself as Robert and was really attentive to any questions, concerns or thoughts. You cant find this level of bedside manner and support everywhere. I had a wonderful experience and was able to carry on with my day happily. Facility is beautiful, clean, sterile. Seating is sleak, comfortable and spacious. Im grateful for this facility and its staff. Thank you kindly.
Called for a rapid test for travel. Front desk said to come in and register for a virtual waiting list. They would text to let me know when its my turn. 4 hours later, we received a text stating that we had to be there within 30 minutes or forfeit our time. We rushed over and then had to wait 1.5h to be seen for the 2 minutes that it took to perform the test! Unacceptable! Never again.
The door is locked to basically have less people at a time. There is no explanation on the door just wait there till someone comes out. If you are getting a Covid test you give your name and then its about a 4 hr wait. You can go home a d they will send you a text and you have to come back within 30 min. Don’t come to this one if you don’t have the time to wait and come back if your getting a Covid test.
In a time of covid, they were good with social distance and providing gloves and hand sanitizers to keep the process as clean as possible. Make sure you have time or go early because you will have to wait in line. When I made my appointment I had 33 people ahead of me. The good thing is you can go about your business and check periodically through text to see where you are in line. This will help you to gauge when you need to start making your way back. Overall a good experience. They do not offer a serology test for covid.
Dr. Ting Tu, an absolutely terrible doctor. No bedside manner, rushed my questions, and did not take my concerns seriously. Additionally, a Covid test was administered and blood came out on the Q tip. My nose is currently completely raw. It’s currently painful to breathe through my nose. I’m an educator who is tested weekly and I’ve never been given a Covid test that was this painful. I’ve frequented many citymd’s and am usually a fan but this doctor ruined that trend. Do not see Dr. Ting Tu as he is not a doctor that listens to the needs of his patients.
I recently went this city MD because I’d found out I and my partner were exposed to Covid in the last week. My partner and I took the rapid tests. She was positive and I was negative. I wanted to make sure that I was negative by taking the pcr test that’s offered. I called city md and explained my situation and they said they’d be happy to give me the pcr after I tested the negative. I show up at 8:30am waited 3 hrs to be told by dr moha ahuja that they’re not going to test me because I was negative yesterday. I insisted because i live with and elderly woman as well and needed to know if I was actually positive. Quarantining regardless I requested the test as I was told I could by city md. The amount of condescending attitude moha exhibited was unbecoming of a dr serving the Bronx community. She insisted that I was aggressively “demanding” when I continued to discuss the situation and question why this was the case. She was full on gaslighting. The community and health care providers are going through a challenging time right now no doubt but to be as rude as she was to someone who is dealing with this virus in his own home was indicative of a dr who does not communicate respectfully, efficiently and with caring. I was outright refused a test. I have not been the only person refused the PCR at this location.
Working at the Riverdale site for 5 months was nothing but hell. The managers there have very poor management skills and are very bias. The main managers always play favoritism. A couple of days before they decided to fire me my ex co-worker lied to them and told them that I threatened her. When In all honestly all I wanted to do was talk and figure out how to get on the same page so that we can make things better for the team. The manager told me she would speak to both of us, that never happened . She took the other employees word over mine. They’re both Hispanic and would speak Spanish to each other in my presence. I was harassed constantly& treated very unfairly. I wouldn’t recommend it .
Walked into Citymd Riverdale at 8 am to be put on a list for covid testing, almost 11 hours went by waiting to receive a call to come in. I sent a text to receive an update serval times and at one point it went from there being 11 people ahead of me to 13 people ahead of me. I called the office and they told me that their system went down, things happen I understand. However, when I finally received a notification to return to the office I got there, checked in & had to wait another hour to finally be put in a room. To top it off I received a call from the front desk asking me if I was still coming in for a covid test in which I was already in a room waiting to get tested. How is it that they did not know I was in a room already. Makes me wonder if the system was truly down or it was mistakes being made by the employees at the front desk. I have been to other citymd locations and never has this happened.
My son was bitten by our dog and this was literally the only location open on a Sunday so we had no choice. Front desk personnel was more concerned with training the person next to her than helping us register. Unfortunately this happened in the street and did not have his health insurance card on us. Front desk personnel insisted she could not find him in the system and was quick to want to charge me $200. Fortunately I was able to rush back to the Bronx and return before her cut off time of 7:20 although the website states they are open until 8pm. I work in the medical field and was able to login with my work information and verified my sons insurance without a problem. The female had the nerve to ask where did I work at because I was questioning her. For a first point of contact I was definitely not left with a good impression. Thankfully the assistant was nice and doctor was nice and took her time to explain everything and made sure he was ok and understood everything.
Denying visits to patients without asking for the reason of WHY we are there is unacceptable. HOW are we supposed to put our names in a list first thing in the morning when WE CAN’T tell when we are going to be feeling sick or can’t take it anymore? Isn’t this an “URGENT CARE” go to downtown and they’ll see you in less than 10 minutes NO MATTER how many people they have, because that’s what it means to be an “URGENT CARE” CARING for patients. CALLED over the phone to ask for an appointment, but HEY, no appointment necessary they said, YET I WALKED in to be turned AWAY!? Because they had too many people on their list, people who aren’t even picking up their phone as per the person who was on the door. People who apparently DOES NOT have any type of EMERGENCY since they are HOME, while US with actual EMERGENCIES cannot be seen. They are picking and choosing the hours that they should be working, GREAT!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR BAD SERVICE.
I love this particular location. The facility is always very clean and wait time is never very long. Typically a visit is no longer than an hour from the moment you enter to the moment you leave. The staff here is wonderful; from the Assistant Manager Gene to the PCRs: Jermaine, Thalia, and Tiara. They’re always very welcoming, friendly and above all professional. I refuse to go to any other location. CityMD-Riverdale is the place to go if you need quick and efficient care.
Went in for a Covid test . Got there at 7am long line . They took my name and # and told me to return at 3pm . I returned at 3pm they told me to come back at 4 pm . I returned at 4 got in line again .Waited on a unmoving line for a hour . Finally walked into the office This is when was I was rudely told they would call me . No one waiting on line knew the procedure. We were all clueless to how testing was being done. Some on line where told to return at 11a.m. This We will call you was a revelation to us all . I finally got my call i after 8 p.m. . Went to CityMed filled out paperwork and waited another hour . Watched them tell walk-ins that they would be open at 7a.m . the next day for more testing and would be open until 9:30 pm to test . Never mentioning that they have a list that fills up before 8 a.m. and if they are not on it they would not be tested . There was a woman there who explained the procedure to new walk ins - she was a patient waiting for a test . None of the 3 women at the front desk bothered .When I finally was seen it was quick and the tech doing it was efficient and friendly. Hence why they got 2 stars.4 days later still no exam results and I took the rapid test .
Horrible experience when it comes to rapid test i waited 8 hours for something that takes less then a minuteNo organization there should be a nurse and room solely for testing to make the process time sufficientMaybe they only care about billable hours hence why the patients get seen faster then people who are here for testingThis is the only city md that does thisOther city mds dont have a wait time of 8 hours
HORRIBLE, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I took a 15 min COVID rapid test and the results will be emailed to me. I waited and received no email. I called the next morning and they put me on hold for 1 hour and a half!! My boyfriend called and asked what was going on and the lady stated there was a “glitch” in their system and they will call me back with the results. They called 2 HOURS LATER with my results. It took them one full day to give me back my results for a covid rapid 15-30 mins test. They couldn’t even email me the results, they told me I had to pick them up in the office. If you guys have no choice but to go there, make sure to ask for a print out copy NOT EMAIL. Never going back there again!
My mom went to urgent care on Wednesday they never send the prescription to the pharmacy I called so they can resend it, they transfer my call to a clinician and she left me on hold for a 1 and 20 mins like who has time to be on hold for one prescription, ridiculous.. never going there again my mom needed her medicine
I have come to this urgent care many times and have had only positive experiences. I have never had more than a 15 min wait time. The doctors, PA’s have excellent bedside manners and have accurately treated my symptoms. If ever there is a prescription, it is sent to my pharmacy before I check out. The medical staff also asks questions about medical history and other factors that may influence your symptoms and always answer my questions without the feeling like I’m being rushed out.The physical space is clean, bright light, and spacious. The check in process is fast if you are a returning patient through the use of a self check kiosk. During the check out process a detailed print out report of your diagnosis is provided.
Made a reservation for 1:45pm and waited over 2 hours had to ask several times whether my son could be seen. There was no information or indication that when you made reservation you would need to wait 2 hrs. They said there was one doctor on staff. I will never come to this location on Broadway again
I was so happy with this urgent care that I immediately as i walked out the unit informed my family and friends of how Quick, clean and nice they were. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND them. I went in and out for an infection , total visit time was about 20 minutes. It was at 11a.m on monday. And all this time i have been waisting my time going to the Presbyterian E.R and lasted ridiculous amount of hours . 🙄😂😂.
Experience was terrible. I left there with a 3-yo child with an ear infection and was given an electronic script for antibiotics. I then waited for an hour with said child in a local Rite Aid for the prescription with assurances from city md staff that the issue was on the pharmacy’s end. When I asked to send the script to another pharmacy, it was sent but also didn’t go through! The staff at City MD did not have the courtesy or compassion to give a verbalscript to the staff at the pharmacy, even though they were helpful enough to call on my behalf. So all in all I waited 1 hour and 40 minutes to leave without medicine for my son when the pharmacy closed at 9pm!!The only thing City MD staff had to say is that they only give electronic prescriptions and that they were too “backed up” to have a provider take the time out to call in the script. I find this to be bad customer service, lacking in compassion, and poor contingency planning in the face of technical issues.
Chaos rules this place!I was there for 12 hours, yes, I not exaggerating... I’ve got there at 7:30 am, made a little line, register myself and waited and waited waited just to be told that is better to go my house to wait, then an hour after I’ve got text saying that I should come back In less than 30 mts or I will lose my place on line but when I’ve got there I had to Wait 3 more hours to deal again with a security guard flashing me a fake badge every time I wanted to ask a question.Corporate look more into these people modus operandis
City MD @ 238th/Bwy is a terrific place to go for urgent care. Ive had great experiences here several times. The staff is knowledgeable and very respectful to ones issue for coming in that day. The doctors, assisting techs and even admins. all listen carefully, are kind and never condescending. Patients are seen on a timely basis, and follow-up through AfterCare is offered. I was glad I chose City MD for my urgent care needs!
I went in mid December after having a cough that lasted about 5 weeks & I was seen by a physician assistant (don’t remember her name) and was told i only had a cough and could “just get regular cough syrup and you’ll be fine”. She also proceeded to give me her diagnosis in what she thought was spanish, when the entire time we spoke english... very weird. I was able to get an appointment with my doctor 2 weeks later and as it turns out I had bronchitis and was prescribed 2 different inhalers and a cough pill and felt WAY better in a week. 2 stars because they took me in fast and the nurse and front desk where pleasant. Don’t even bother coming here.
If you are going in to get tested for COVID-19, dont bother. It has been 11 days since I was tested and I have yet to receive the results. Completely defeats the purpose of getting tested.....Aside from this complaint, the staff and physician who attended me were very professional and pleasant.
Well disorganized and chaotic, def the security personnel needs to be less involved when it comes to inform patient about medical procedures and limit them selfs to securities duties only.If is not a real emergency go to any other place! Not worth your time and your money!
The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful, but my last visit makes me not want to come here to seek medical attention. I went in with a genuine worry about my throat and tonsils as I could see I had a lump on one. I also had the worst throat tightness, almost like I was choking. Dr. Sandra made me feel like I was going insane and said everything was normal and it was a simple sore throat. Come tomorrow I can barely breathe and had to go to the other urgent care near by to seek a second opinion. The doctor immediately sees that I have acute tonsillitis and questioned why CityMd did not give me antibiotics or ibuprofen to ease the inflammation. Please dont belittle what the patient is feeling, they know their body best and it was a waste of $50.
I have used 2 of their facilities. One on Central Avenue in Yonkers and the Bronx one on West 237th. Both facilities are clean, quiet and very roomy. The staff polite and professional. The only thing the Bronx facility failed to do in comparison to Yonkers, was identify what their status was as they brought you to the room and took information. Are you a medical assistant, nurse or physicians assistant? All in all, very helpful places to be seen in a pinch.
My son is 3 and they asked me to control him because he was talking loudly. The man at the front desk walked over to me stating “ we have I’ll patients and your son is making too much noise”. I told him I am doing everything I can to keep him quiet and what would he like me to do and he looked towards the door. I will never go back here again!!!!! This type of treatment was absolutely disgraceful
The X-ray technician/ manager Jean was very awesome and eased my nerves. Quickest hospital visit i ever been too. Had xrays taken for my knee and was out in less than an hour. From the front desk to the back office. Nurses and doctor was great. Thank you city md river dale.
I love this CityMD, my technician 👨🔧 Jean was the best, he looked out for me all the time I was there, great human being; not to mention the doctors, they are excellent and caring... the atmosphere is very peaceful from the moment you walk in, the nurse at the front desk was very caring and professional.... I’m very happy that this urgent-care is within my neighborhood...
Terrible!!! Terrible if your waiting for COVID TEST they will make you wait Hours even if they tell you one time this place is ridiculous and the staff is Horrible they are patients with no mask over their faces and that are coughing and they do nothing this place is horrible
Best place.. I visited 2 months before as my daughter broke her shoulder bone. Front desk was quick and friendly .. the Dr and radiologist was so friendly so professional, within 30-40 minutes my visit was done with x-ray results too... not only that but next day they called to help me make appointment with pediatric orthopedic .. Best place .. Thank you for your help..!
I visited this location on monday evening 6-28-21 with my three kids who had some kind of virus, coughing, and fever, as i was the last customer before they closed, the doctor instructed me to just give them tynelol, she did not want to check their throat, or ears (my oldest daughtet) was complaing of pain in her ear, the nurse did job to the T, the doctor just want to get rid of us, how is it that three sick kids, coughing, and have fever, could be diagnosed by just just looking at them, then i asked the nurse to ask the doctor to check up my kids, finally she agreed to check them, i asked the nurse to please send the prescription to the pharmacie next door wich is on my kids files with city md, in the morning i went to the pharmacie, no prescriptions were sent there, i went back to city md, just to find out they sent the presciptions to Rite aid who happen to not take my kids insurance, so i asked the reception if i can go to rite aid,and ask them to forward the prescription to my pharmacie, and the receptionist said i can not do that, nor she wants to help me resolve the problem, she gave me a number of a city after care to call themto fix it, i was on hold for 24 minut es, no answer, then i asked for a supervisor, a nice lady with a name tifany came out, and decided to help, she did resend the presciptions to my pharmacie, only to realize that they sent prescriptions for two of my kids, and i had to take back my other kid to an other doctor.to add insult to injury, this fiasco caused me to arrive to my job two hours and half late, which earned a warning on my file.
Im sad to give this place only two stars. The staff in the waiting room is very nice and organized. I went first thing in the morning and I got in right away. No wait. The doctor wasnt so great though. She didnt listen to me, she really seem like she could care less. I should have just gone to my primary care or my ear nose and throat doctor. She didnt ask me any questions I knew that I had a sinus and ear infection... I hate taking antibiotics and havent take them in a year... But I know when Im in excruciating pain, cant sleep, and I have discharge leaking from my ear thats its not just a cold. She told me to take over the counter cold and sinus meds which I had been doing for 10 days already. I went to an ear nose and throat doctor today. He said I had a major sinus ear and throat infection. Cleaned out all the fluid in my ears and gave me an antibiotic and steroids. I felt so much better just after the visit. Im starting to think these urgent care places everywhere arent really that useful. If you can go to your doctor or an ENT allergy clinic I would recommend that route.
This place is amazing! Ive been here several times and they never disappoint. GREAT staff, GREAT doctors and the Results you need quick. I would highly recommend this Specific CityMD because they are just that Great. Thank you for your kindness, patience and Hard work.
The wait time is as much as going into an emergency room ... In the hour or longer I was waiting there I did not see a doctor come out an call anyone.... You have 3 receptionist at the front desk taking patients they should have more doctors seeing patients. I will definitely tell all my neighbors around the area to call their primary physician for a walk in appointment or go to the emergency room
Everything was great until the xray tech on duty put company liability policy above the patient. He felt uncomfortable, where I was ready to help him with my elderly mother. Ergo lost the sale of an xray and our future business. We ended up going to montefiore until 4am waiting for an a stupid xray. So sad. Even called himself the assistant manager. Fire him immediately!!!
I went to CityMD Riverdale with symptoms of a UTI. I mentioned that I have numerous allergies and therefor use a medication that is safe for me for UTI treatment. The medication is Monurol. I had a package if this medication with me when I spoke to the doctor. She barely listened to me, decided I probably had a yeast infection and not a UTI and sent me home with instructions to wait for the lab report but to go ahead with the Monurol should the test come back positive against her diagnosis. The next day I was in so much pain that I started the Monurol and improved by the next day. The lab just called: I tested positive for an UTI. An antibiotic was recommended but of course I had already taken the Monurol. Since the doctor had neglected to mention this medication, no sensitivity test for it was performed by the lab. She had also omitted to write down one antibiotic that I am allergic to and which might be related to the meds recommended by the lab. Oh, and I did test negative for a yeast infection. Perhaps if the doctor had listened instead of prattling on about her private life she might have been more effective. Perhaps.
I just visited CityMD Riverdale. I was a bit hesitant at first because of the mixed reviews. However, I decided to go because of my increasing cold symptoms and a really bad cough. The attention from the receptionist, medical assistant and the doctor was fast and extremely thorough. They really took the time asking questions, explaining my diagnosis and treatment. I hope I dont have ro visit CityMD Riverdale again, but if thats the case, I would go in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!!!
Ive been a few times and theyve been pretty helpful each time. Ive also gone to a Manhattan location as well. The last time they forgot about me in one of the examination rooms but overall I have no complaints. Theyve been as thorough as possible for each concern Ive had.
I came to my nearest City MD thinking that I can get assistance with my chest pains, facial numbness, dizziness etc., called prior to coming here. Spoke to two people stating that I should come right away. Came to this office and they do not have me in their system. Meanwhile I was informed that all City MDs are connected and my information should be in the system. Redid the form and waited. Ive been waiting for the past 50 minutes. It’s friday afternoon and there aren’t many people in the waiting area. I DONT RECOMMEND!!!!!!
Absolutely amazing. Large facility with multiple exam rooms. Clean facility. The only drawback was I have a hyphenated last name and the card reader to register wasnt able to pick up my info so I had to manually type it in. Other than that, everything was smooth and seamless.
After dealing with the horrible folks of metro urgicare. I decided to give citymd a shot. They could not have been more nice. The doctor from the ugricare gave me an antibiotic that has sulfur and Im very allergic to it. My doctor at citymd knew right away and said get off that med. Take internal benadryl and rest. They cant get over a doctor not listening to my family having a history of sulfur allergies. They are all very nice and sweet and so understanding. I will never go back to metro urgicare. Citymd knows what they are doing and checks all your meds for interactions before giving you any medication.
AWFUL MEDICAL ADVICE!!! The staff was so friendly but they told me I had a cold and when I went home to MA a couple days later still feeling horribly sick I went to my doctor and they said I have one of the worst ear double infections theyve seen in years. I also have a viral infection. Blown away with how little the medical staff knows.
The service provided here is excellent. They take a direct approach and have many female drs. who look you in the eye, and really listen to you. I highly recommend this location if you have a potentially serious health issue, and want to avoid the hassle of your primary care dr.s office.
I usually like City Med but I think this Riverdale site might be on the decline, service always starts out good and declines around here. Its like people in the Bronx arent entitle to good service, they hire the competent doctors and medical assistants for Manhattan and send the rude incompetent garbage to the Bronx. The doctor was a young Asian looking female with black hair, she didnt greet me, came into the room to give me a shot, she also put the bandage so far away from the injection site, it was like a joke. The medical assistant was so rude, he looked like someone who hate working. I dont recommend you waste your money or use your insurance at this site.
I love city md and the female doctor who attended me after doctor Ross . But I must warn you . If you ever encounter Doctor Ross be ready to e counter some bad old fashion treatment . I’m not going to get in details but this was the most uncomfortable visit I ever had . In resume I needed to ask for the manager and get another doctor to treat me .
From extremely helpful and courteous front desk staff to the wonderfully hilarious technician, Jean- I had an amazing experience at this location.Everyone is super accommodating, wait times are non existent and it’s extremely clean.I highly recommend Riverdale location!!
I Dont see why did I go anywhere else. Friendly staff. Not loud and very fast. I dont have to go the er and take up my whole day I can go home and get some rest. Very clean and the doctor listen to me and I wouldnt go anywhere else.... love the staff (did I say that already )
Had a very sick 5 year old, with a fever that wouldnt come down with ibuprofen nor motrin; that one of the P.A had indicated, the first time I went. 4 days later Mark Galliguez P.A went the extra mile & found what was really wrong with my kid. Thankful for trusting The P.A in charge the next day my kid was soo much better.
Very good service there was a argument while I was there waiting earlier tonight and I like how the staff all stand up for each other some people could be animal sometimes that staff that stood up for the rest of her team she should get a raised that’s how you do it girl other than that great service
Wanted to go here because it has better ratings than 181st but I’ve called like 5 times with a question and Although their system says “press 1 for medical questions” the person that picks up that line says they don’t do medical questions 🙃 and transfers me to where I supposedly can get help and it’s the medical records line 🙃 at one point she even hung up on meWanted to come here because I’m experiencing heavy headaches a week from my accident and wanted guidance on whether or not this was a good place to get checked .. to no availI’ll be going to 181st after all they pleasantly answered my questions

2022-06-01Waiting for over two hours for a Covid test when there were only 9 patients in the waiting room. Useless irresponsible Doctor (Dr Carlos) offering prescription medications knowing the root of the problem l. Just guessing “allergies” for the nausea symptoms that brought me into this visit.

2022-06-02My experience at the Riverdale location is always great! At my most recent visit, yes I had to pay a $50 copayment but had I gone to the ER I would of been there for hours and would have been billed $150 minimum. So I’ll take it! I was in and out vitals, X-rays, shots and all in under an hour. They are very attentive and my wait time is always minimal. (Except for when everyone and their mama was getting tested in 2020 and 2021, but let’s be real it was crazy every where!) The office staff are very professional. The doctors and nurses take my concerns seriously and treat me with the utmost of care! ❤️🥰… I like them better than my actual PCP 😩

2022-05-26Doctor Mike was amazing, however the supervisor, a young tall dark skin man, was very rude and unprofessional. When I asked how long till I would be seen I was told I was next on the list, only to have two people go ahead of me. One was an emergency and I understand but the other one flirted for a minute and was pushed ahead of me. I was having chest pains and regardless was treated horribly. Although the doctor and nurses were good the supervisors unacceptable behavior made the whole experience horrible and I would not recommend, I will definitely be going to the other urgent care on broadway and it is completely due to the supervisor who should not have his position.

2022-04-22Beware that they charge for covid tests even when your insurance indicates that covid tests are covered. I told them this and the lady at the desk was exceptionally rude and falsely claimed I must pay. I called my insurance and my insurance said I am 100% correct and that City MD was completely wrong for charging me. Not to mention that the staff is exceptionally rude while be wrong and making you pay when you shouldnt. Horrendous 100% unprofessional front desk staff!

2022-06-05The facility is quite large, very clean, and pleasantly decorated. I was a first time walk-in on a recent Sunday morning, and was seen to by a staff which I found to be super nice, helpful and very knowledgeable. Positive experience all around. Thank you all!

2022-06-01Nice lobby, nice staff but SLOW A. F.!?!!!2.5 hours for a rapid COVID test. 13 people here all for the same thing. I could stick swabs in a thousand noses in 2.5 hours.

2022-05-09Front desk staff doesn’t know what they’re doing and the nurses are extremely rude. Came in to do a physical and the staff “didn’t know” they weren’t supposed to charge the insurance. Extremely rude and ineffective staff. Will never go back. Don’t waste your time!
