Not sure if my taste buds are changing or if there was an ingredient change recently. But the lemon ice just doesnt hit like it used to. Doesnt seem as lemony
We have been coming here for years. The ladies who own the place are very friendly, The tomato pie is a must try. The lemon ice is refreshing. My favorite treat to get is the eclair.
Excellent Italian ice, unlike anything else in the area. Their pastries are wonderful, including fantastic eclairs, tarts, cookies and tiramisu. Coffee and cappuccino go nicely with a baked treat. If you happen to get there while they still have pizza left, it is always worth trying (crisp crust, sauce, parmesan and slices of garlic!), but sells out quickly. Ambience is nice, like an old Italian coffee shop or bistro. Worth a trip!
Eclairs to die for. Also had a chocolate ganache cheesecake that was incredibly rich (its split in half in the picture). Also had a large selection of Italian cookies that I didnt try.
Amazing coffee, better than Starbucks. And the best tiramisu that Ive tasted so far in the area! Must visit. Very affordable prices too.

Step through the door to the most incredible smells of authentic Italian food and pastries. This was actually a Highlight of our trip to New York from California. We are still talking about the Incredible food and Heavenly Pastries. The Customer Service was Outstanding! We felt more like family than customers.
The food is good there, but I have been having chocolate croissants many times a week for breakfast, and so I do not Stop and Shop here more than a few times a month even though I walk right past it several times a week. Great if you want some really nice bread, if all you want is something to make sandwiches its only good if its convenient, sandwiches are just sandwiches.
The epitome of an Italian corner store in the heart of Little Italy. Get there early if you want chicken salad because it sells out fast.

A staple in Little Italy in Schenectady. The place has amazing desserts and friendly and warm staff. I have only been here a couple of times. I would like to check out their menu one day. I have only gone there for pastries which are yummy and not crazy expensive. You can get gelato too. If you need a place to get dessert to bring to a function then this is the place.
Amazing Italian pastry shop. The owners are so nice. You need to try the lemon ice. It is by far the best ever. It is as smooth as silk. The other flavors are amazing too but lemon is the classic here. The tiramisu is also to die for. Gelato is true Italian style and fresh. The food menu is very home cooking. Traditional Italian pizza and great eggplant. Go and fall in love with this place like my family has. We drive an hour to sit and talk with the owners and enjoy the great treats.

Great bread, and the sandwich specials are usually pretty good. The problem I have is that I order sandwiches with no dairy and they forget to omit it every time. Once, the cook even replied to me No, you didnt order it without cheese.All of my dining buddies rave about the Gelato. While I cannot comment on taste, I can say that they have fabulous flavor selection and the texture looks perfect.

Again Civatellos hit it out of the ballpark with their cannolis and tiramisu. I picked up 4 cannolis and 2 slices of tiramisu on and they are gone already. My son and his new GF and my mom inhaled them. Best by far upstate and yes I have tried cannolis from multiple places up here Civatellos pipes them per order.
I wish this place was on union st where you can see it, because I have lived here for 13 years and missed it all theses years! They truly have the Best pastries! authentic ! I went with my dad and son a few weeks ago and the laidies were so sweet! It’s a hidden gem!!

As a pastry shop this establishment is superb. The lemon ice and eclairs are the best in the capital district without a doubt. For lunch however I personally dont think its anything special. Still definitely worth checking out.
Everyone raves about the traditional Italian pizza, but for me its all about the sandwiches. The sandwiches are served on fresh bread some of my favorites is the Pastrami, Salami, Roast beef, and Poor boys. Ive also sampled the macaroons and Italian Ice... delish.

Literally the best mango gelato that I have ever tasted. Their desserts are too tempting to ignore, so we loaded up on tiramisu and lemon berry marscapone cake for later. Im utizing every ounce of self control i can muster to save our desserts for later.... But I cant promise i can wait that long.

2022-05-25We ordered a tray of cookies instead of flowers for my family in Schenectady when they gathered for the passing of my cousin. Roie went above and beyond to give them a beautiful tray of cookies that everyone loved. Each one is beautifully hand-made by her! No-one wants to mourn the loss of a loved one, but I can tell you that the response from the cookies was remarkable. We were happy to show our love through this gesture and Civitellos went above and beyond to help us share our love with family.ANDWhen my brother and sister-in-law came to visit In Kansas City soon after, they brought us cookies, cannolis, and pizza from Civitellos. The pizza was incredible! The cookies, each hand made by Roie, were so moist and delicious - they did not last long. And, the Cannolis! Wow - thank you Angela for that delicious filling.If you need to make yourself or someone you love immediately feel special, make sure to think about Civitellos first. Food vs. Flowers - I choose food! Thank you Civitellos!

2021-07-31Great old school Italian bakery. The manager is great. I came in with my kids and they were all over the place asking questions and just being kids and she was awesome! She was great and when my kids left they ran behind the counter and gave her a huge hug! I was like oh my, I am sorry but she was like no way, that just made my day! It was a nice feel good moment. Oh and the baked goods are awesome!

2021-07-14The sandwiches there are phenomenal. The deserts will blow you away.....the italian ice (lemon in particular) is the best anywhere. This is truly a hidden gem. If you are lucky enough to happen upon it, we will find yourself at that end of town frequently.

2021-09-05I called ahead to be sure they had tiramisu. And I so wanted to love their tiramisu. I really did.It was soggy, the ladyfingers were very porous and more like cake than cookies, cream wasnt very thick or dense on top, flavor was okay.Just didnt hit that tiramisu spot.Please know they have LOTS of other yummies and goodies to choose from and they have excellent service but, sadly, they wont make it as my go-to for tiramisu.

2021-08-28Amazing! Pastery like nonna made, sandwiches, Tomato pie with chunks of garlic that rivals Utica and across the street hands down. Get it early because they run out or better yet, order it. Gelato is amazing! I think the biz has been there for 96years and they are same family. Tradition at its finest. Enjoy!
