This would be the only place I would stay in Oswego. We went for a wedding that was to take place on New Year’s Eve. From check in until we left, everyone here provided excellent service. Please tip generously! They deserve it.
Good- Best are is there bar/ Restaurant. Food is good. Service a little slow. But very pleasant and they have live music. Room very comfortable. Only missing a microwave. Staff at reception area, pleasant and helpful. Area seems very safe to stay at as I am a woman and my son stayed in his Dorm room
Our room was nice with a king size bed. Very clean. The bathroom was clean. It was very quiet. The restaurant had a large menu with gluten free options. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and knowledgeable. They answered our questions. We felt safe walking to other restaurants and behind the hotel near the water.
The hotel was very nice but the plumbing is a mess. My bathroom sink filled up with smelly/sewage water and wouldn’t drain. I loosened the valve under the sink to drain it, I put the garbage can underneath to collect the water, but, oh no, the water kept flooding and gushing from up above, very smelly and scary water from somewhere? I’m glad I was alone and didn’t need to use the bathroom sink in the evening. By morning it was draining fine.
Positive: free breakfast. Negative: the room they had me in was close to the stair well so I heard people going up and down the stairs a lot..
Clean and comfort rooms. Breakfast was great and the staff are all very friendly.

This was a terrible experience. We were given room 228 directly under the kitchen which has no carpet to muffle the noise. We heard carts being dragged around until 1 am along with the clank of high heels clomping around. We tried to change rooms they had nothing and said the kitchen noise would stop at 10pm which it didnt. The beds were loud and the parking was impossible. Avoid this place at all cost.
Stayed at this location for 5days, they were flexible with us. Allowed us to extend our stay, no issues. Beds were clean, rooms dusted, and well maintained. Parking was an issue- they are doing construction and the restaurant patrons parked up the lot; but a short walk was ok. They did allow us to stop by the entrance and unload; as we had to park down the street.
This location has updated their property since our first stay a few years ago. Very comfortable and is within close proximity to the dock. Staff is extremely friendly and was able to accommodate side by side rooms. I would highly recommend the Clarion in Oswego, NY for your lodging needs.

Nice hotel. Nothing too fancy, but as good as it gets in Oswego. One great feature is the use of the expansive fitness center at the Best Western Plus next door.
Clean, quiet room. Grounds were nice and clean. The Staff at the front desk and at the breakfast bar were all more than friendly. Speaking of the breakfast, it was so nice to have a full-on real breakfast where I can sit down at a table and enjoy all the food. The restaurant/bar is very nice and has a water front deck to sit on. This place is a great value. I loved staying here.Note: front parking lot is pretty small so I didn’t want to move my car. I’m not sure if there’s additional parking elsewhere

Easy on / off from i 95. room clean. bed comfortable. staff excellent. hotel needs exterior renovation. the rooms need to be updated. the 110.00 rate for the room was extremely high for the hotels condition.
There has to be a friendlier, better place. Children were staying at the hotel and that cannot be a new thing for this place given the proximity to the baseball field. But their attitudes were them against the world. They were obnoxious and intolerant and even threatened to call the police. For what? Kids having fun? Absolutely disgraceful.
A very nice hotel with a friendly helpful staff. I recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and the lovely staff that work there. They were so nice and the bar snd restaurant was so spacious snd lovely also. I would stay here again.
Your hotel is clean and updated which makes all the difference. The staff is very friendly setting the tone upon check in. What you dont always find is a great hair dryer. Most often, the hairdryer do not work well. It is such a minor aspect but it really does add to the experience. Your hairdryer worked so well. What was not so great were the pillows, for me anyway.
The hotel was convenient to Lake Ontario salmon charters. Staff were friendly. We did not find out until after the trip that a reduced rate was available to anglers who booked with certain charters.
I would definitely not call this hotel quality.My wife and I stayed here recently and were supposed to get a riverview room for Valentines Day, which we were looking forward to. We instead received a view of the parking lot and street.Also, we were told there would be a temporary $150 deposit hold, which wouldnt actually come out of our account. I checked the next day and it in fact did pull out of the account.The room size was also very small and the shower only had one shower door on it. Internet was very spotty and once we finally did connect, it would disconnect every 15 minutes. When attempting to call the front desk, the phone just rang continuously every time and no one ever picked up.We attempted to bring this up the next day, but the guy who picked up said the manager wasnt there. He said he would call her though and shed get right back a hold of us but not one ever did so I called the following day. I got a hold of the manager, Tammy, who was pretty rude actually and only apologized when I said dont you think at least an apology is in order? She said the best they could do is 10% back to us and for that shed have to get a hold of her manager.My wife and I have stayed at a lot of hotels in our lives, but this one is definitely the worst! I know its a pandemic, but if you have a choice to support a different hotel than this one, I really would.
After being on the road for several hours, we checked in just after 6pm. We took our bags to the room and came back down to eat at the restaurant at 6:35 and were told it would be about a 45 minute wait due to occupancy limits. She took our number and said she would call when our table was ready. At 6:45 and still no call, we went back down and were initially told we wouldnt be able to eat there. When we advised that we had already been put on a list, she said that we may be able to get in, but it would be at least another hour, but the kitchen may be closed by that time. As she was telling us this, I noticed most of the same patrons as I did in our first trip down to eat just hanging around, socializing and drinking... It wasnt as if these people were finishing up their meal. As a paying hotel customer, I thought we should have a priority over folks off the street. I found this experience very annoying, so we went to another restaurant down the street and were welcomed with open arms and ended up having a great meal there. With our daughter attending SUNY Oswego, we will stay in the city often, but after this experience, it will most likely be at a different hotel.
The hotel is close to most of the restaurants in the town which is the best part about it. The front desk staff is friendly. Other than that, most of the beds are uncomfortable and the WiFi is awful, and the tv channels come in and out of service.
Front desk and security are extremely rude to guests. service at restaurant is unfriendly and food takes over an hour to come out. whole staff is disgusting and rude. called the cops several always times and take their job way too seriously. yelled at us for not being in our rooms at 11 pm. stay was un enjoyable and never coming back
2nd stay at this location. Check in was a pleasure this time. Friendly and informative and most importantly to me- welcoming.I ate dinner on premises and although slow, the food was inviting.The first night, there was a horrible smell of chemicals coming from the floor above me. It got so bad, I had to open the window, turn in the ac, and leave the room. This was around midnight so it wasnt exactly convenient. It was gone when I returned. I assumed I was under an area in the lobby that needed cleaning. Perhaps part of the restaurant.Room was comfortable but lacking a microwave. Great river view.
Excellent service. The hotel had a nice atmosphere. Staff was friendly, quick and efficient. The room was clean and spacious. Nice view of the water!! There were 4 of us staying in the room and it was very considerate that the room was stocked with plenty of towels and other armenities that easily accommodated us all without having to request extra of anything. The inclusive breakfast was good. Overall, experience was great, I had no complaints.

Excellent customer service, clean rooms, beds were very comfortable. Staff recommended a place to get pizza and wings and they were good. I would recommend asking about a discount if you are there for a fishing charter. I have recommended this hotel to friends for their fishing trips.
Went to History on Tap Wed 6-2-21 and thought it was great. The room we were in was nice,waitstaff, food and drinks were all very good. Will go again next month!

We booked a charter to fish for salmon out of Oswego. This hotel was an excellent choice. Clean, many food options and walking distance to the marina. The room had a very nice view of the lake. A really nice area, plenty of parking.
Clean rooms and great location. I was only there for an overnight stop during covid but I would definitely recommend. The location was beautiful and felt safe. There was a restaurant in the building with outdoor seating. The front desk was helpful and friendly. I cant comment on the breakfast option because I left super early. The surrounding area looked like it could be fun and the sunset I saw was beautiful!
The hotel was great. It was in a convenient location. Our room faced the water for a very pretty view. The 1/2 shower door was a bit strange (I prefer a shower curtain so the water stays in the shower). I would not hesitate to stay here again. All staff members were very pleasant.
I have stayed at this hotel before and felt it was average. On this visit I noticed a lot of updates and changes, yet the price was still very reasonable. Very pleasant surprise. Loved my room overlooking the river. It has a very nice bar and restaurant but is also within walking distance of several other restaurants and bars. Front desk staff smiling and polite, check-in was quick. Will definitely stay here again.
Pray they arent booked to capacity because they have more rooms than parking spots - by far. The staff is friendly, hard-working and available - the rooms are not. My 1st attempt at booking the room, I was told they had nothing, So I called back, spoke with a different desk clerk and there were rooms available. My room key worked 5% of the time, so they happily exchanged it for one that worked 15% of the time. The restaurant in the hotel was wonderful; great view, great food, great service. Back at the room, although they had signs for vending machines, they had neither the space for them nor the actual machines. Complimentary breakfast was served by the nicest, most upbeat person on the planet - I wish she could greet me every morning.
The room and the hotel itself were clean and to snuff. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Internet service was very good. The food service was a little below par. My steak tips were over cooked and dry. Great selection of beer on tap.
Rooms were clean. Staff very friendly & accommodating. We arrived after midnight & the front desk staff were welcoming & asked if we would need a meal, etc. There was some construction at the front entrance, however, it never interfered with entering or exiting the hotel. Great breakfast. Not just bagels & coffee, but a full breakfast selection. Beautiful views of the river as well as ease of access to the river walk. Hoping to stay here for my class reunion in 2017!
Cant beat the price! The rooms are small but more than adequate for a weekend or overnight stay. Staff are friendly and helpful although masks were not being worn by front desk staff. Room was clean and check in check out went smoothly.
Hotel was conveniently located and clean. We had a pleasant stay there once before. Because it was family weekend for the college, we paid twice as much. Unfortunately, the mattresses in this room squeaked with every movement and sunk down in the middle. After the first night, I went down to the front desk to complain. The hotel was full so we couldnt change rooms and the clerk just kind of shrugged. We should have at least been offered some compensation. So disappointed with this visit.
The checkin staff of this hotel were very friendly, efficient and caring. The room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The bed was especially noteworthy. The bathroom was clean and had all the appropriate accessories. We had dinner at the restaurant on the property and were pleased with the variety of items and the quality of the food. Breakfast was well presented and there was a choice of items.
We had 2 nights here recently and was amazed at how clean and spacious it was. Weve stayed here a couple years ago too. The bathroom floor just shined. Side view of the river and lake was good. Service excellent. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast is very good. Only little issue was that our room was not in good proximity to the wi-fi connection point and didnt get great service in our room. But we would definitely stay here again.
My husband & I came into town for a wedding and we always like staying at a Quality hotel. Once again, the hotel did not disappoint. The staff was courteous and efficient. The room was warm, decorated nicely, and comfy. The food was so good. We ate dinner because it was an early afternoon wedding reception. Breakfast was great too. Lots of choices for both meals. Just wanting to thank you for making our weekend away a memorable one.
Affordable and comfortable. Couldnt have asked for a better stay. The restaurant has great views from the deck and good food. The service was fast and friendly. The hotel was easy to check in and staff was great. I stayed 2 nights for work and the location was perfect. If I had to find a negative it would be the parking. The lot is a bit small to handle both the hotel and restaurant. If work brings me this way again, I will book again.
Nice view, needs updating. Steamers restaurant is one of the better parts of this hotel. It is a nice location on the Oswego River and convenient to downtown areas. The breakfast, which is included in your stay, is good with many options and the staff working this area are very friendly. I did have a coupon for a free drink, but was unable to use it as the kitchen closed at 10:00 and you had to order food in order to utilize the coupon. I arrived late back to hotel that evening, so was unable to use it.
Rooms are spacious and if you get the riverside the view is excellent. Bathrooms are small and tight and need updating. The sink in my room drained very slowly and almost overflowed which says to me there is a lack of communication between the housekeeping and maintenance departments. Breakfast was very good and the staff was on top of replenishing the coffee and food items as needed.
My stay was very pleasant. I was very comfortable, and everything was very clean.The only drawback was the quality of the Wi-Fi, but I wasnt terribly upset over that. Who needs Wi-Fi anyway when they have a comfy bed to read/watch HGTV in??In all seriousness, they were very accommodating and even switched my original room to one with a spectacular view. Lovely.

Every aspect of my stay was great. Each interaction with the staff was always pleasant and extremely helpful. The rooms were great, comfortable and meticulously clean. Food was surprisingly good and restaurant quality. Other hotel chains food tastes frozen or reheated, whereas this hotels food tastes fresh and well prepared. Theyre in the process of renovating so there are a few parking spaces unavailable, but appeared to be close to completion.
We were pleasantly pleased upon arrival at the hotel. The front entrance was under construction last year at this time as well as some of the rooms. The entrance was complete and looks beautiful. A few rooms on our floor were still under construction but not once did we hear the workers. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The shower was exceptional and the television had plenty of channels to select from. The close proximity of the hotel to the dock makes this a perfect choice on where to stay. In addition, the hotel offers a reduced room rate for folks who fish with charter companies operating out of Oswego Harbor. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I cannot say enough about this hotel. It was clean, well stocked with towels, had a beautiful riverfront view. The staff was professional, efficient, and very pleasant. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, fresh, and was kept refilled. All in all a restful and relaxing stay! ☺
I was very pleased once again with the cleanliness of this hotel. We were greeted in a friendly manner, and all accommodations were very satisfactory. Although we didnt make it to breakfast, the woman who manages the breakfast foods offered to make me a scrambled egg plate as I was pouring myself some tea. That was so sweet of her!! We will continue to stay here as we travel up each weekend for lacrosse season!

2022-06-22Im a local to the area so I cant speak for the how the rooms but the service was excellent, food was great, was there for a training conference from my work. Staff was friendly. They are right in walking distance to many other restaurants and bars, a night club and movie theater as well as other local small businesses a candy shop and bakery the on opposite side of the bridge. They do have their own restaurant and bar inside Steamers, the only down side for me way interior lighting was slightly dimmer than what I am use too but the views of the river and the lake were spot on.

2022-03-01From check in till checkout front desk staff is friendly and helpful! No issues with checking in! They are accommodating with letting room service know what you’d like as far as towels and or trash pick up! Area outside and inside well kept and clean. Rooms are spacious and clean. Could be updated, with microwave and ubs ports. But they are comfortable and quiet. Had a room on fifth floor across from elevator didn’t notice it at all, from inside my room.

Every single person I interacted with was professional and helpful and made sure my needs were met. Negative: The room placement was a bit awkward as it struggled to have consistent wifi connection for me to conduct business while away from home.

2022-03-04Good hotel. I like that it’s pet friendly. Front desk clerk is really nice. Don’t know his name but he has blonde curly hair. We stay at this hotel everytime my son has a home game. I like the fact that parents of the Oswego mens Hockey team get 15% discount.

I had to book a last minute stay and the gentleman I spoke to, who was the front deck clerk at the hotel (not an 800#) went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. When we arrived we received the same friendly service from everyone. We havent stayed at a hotel since 2020 and were on the fence of doing so but unfortunately we had no choice and Im pleased to say that this hotel was clean! I felt comfortable in the room as it not only smelled clean, but was clean.

2021-10-25I was greeted at check in by a very pleasant front desk host. He collected my information and got me checked in. He let me know about the extended hours at the restaurant for the weekend as well as the free drink ticket. I loved how the hotel was decorated with Oswego colors and welcomed parents for Friends and Family weekend, as that was why I was in town. He gave me my key cards and a nice goody bag which was much appreciated after my 7 hour drive. I found my room immaculate and well stocked with towels, toiletries, etc. The bed was extremely comfortable. My only suggestion would be to let guests know at check in about the different areas to park as the front lot does not seem to have sufficient parking while the restaurant is open. Overall an excellent experience and I look forward to staying again on my next visit to Oswego.
