Clemson Bros. Brewery in other cities:
We love Clemsons, the food is always good and the drinks are awesome. BUT the past few times we have been there, there is absolutely no wait staff service. If you want to eat outside, you have to go back inside to order your food and drinks. Then theyll give you a buzzer and then you have to go back upstairs and bring your drinks and food out yourself. When we went outside we had to clean the table off ourselves. We had to put everybodys empty glasses and food baskets on to another table so we would have a clean table. We must have been there for at least an hour and a half-two hours and no one came and cleared any of the tables. Even though we love the food and the atmosphere I dont know if were going to give it another chance.
Our first time going today and it was fabulous!!! The food was great, the beer was delicious, and the service even better. For a nonbeer drinker like me, I was able to have a round of 4-4oz tasters which helped me decide what I wanted to have a bigger serving of. We will definitely be going back again!
No stars. My girlfriend, 8 month old and I went to the brewery to try the food for the first time. I ordered the Pilsner while my girlfriend ordered a cocktail. Her drink was nothing but alcohol while my beer tasted like a 40oz malt liquor from a Bronx corner store. Not bad but then it was served very warm. We did not get entrees however; we did get a few apps. The wings were undercooked. The cheese curds were chewy and the fries were okay. How can you mess up fries right?I have been here in the past and about a year ago I said “this beer is warm” and sure enough it was served warm again. The beer for this brewery is awful. Place looks great but puts out expensive disgusting products. Will not be going back. I hope people wake up and can see thru the nice decor and notice this place is bad.
Sadly cant give it a good review. First time i went we were seated and left to wait over 25 min no water no menu nothing, so we decided to walk out. Went last Saturday at 9:45 and the door was closed. Everything said they closed at 11. Maybe ill try going one more time but as of now its at the bottom of my list.
Nice decor, food had good flavor, but as per the waitress burgers can only be cooked medium or well done, that was disappointing, i like mine medium rare, but i had to settle for medium (which was closer to medium well). I would expect this from a fast food joint, but not a fine establishment like this.
Omg. Being your appetite to Clemson Brothers Brewery. The food is off the charts and our server Mike was a pleasure to have serving us. The craft brews were cold and tasty and the food was undescribable. We started with cheese curds and that pretty much filled us up and the short rib sandwich was absolutely incredible. If your looking for a place to go for great food at a reasonable price then you have to check this place out. I guarantee you wont be disappointed
Amazing food and drinks, highly recommend. Always a great time!***Update***I hope this reaches any decision on makers, we were here on June 7th, what we figured would be a typical Tuesday. Samantha held it together even after having every bar table, the bar, and then tables in the back get filled, she maintained her composure and busted her butt. Then Mike came in when she requested he come in to help and immediately the two of them took over cleaning up after the tonado that rocked Clemson Brothers. Triple A+ to them both especially Sam. As a bartender and server of over 15 years she held her own and deserves the biggest props and a raise!
Definitely worth the trip! Between the very cool building, the awesome food, and the tasty beer, it sure will make the trip a complete package. The service was great and prompt. The food came out hot and delicious. The perogies were awesome. The have a wide range of beers which will please all the taste buds in your group mouths. I’m looking forward to going back.
Stopped in for dinner tonight and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. Would have been a 5 star review if not for the $2.50 iced tea and soda refill charge. The markup on those products are astronomical to begin with so to have a refill charge is something I think they need to reconsider. With all that said I would return for the food.
Super cool atmosphere and decor. The beer is stellar. My girl had an appetizer that was great but Im cant say about food but it looked good and smelled good as well. The barkeep was very friendly and knowledgeable. Id recommend coming here for beer and food without a doubt. Great find 😊
Came to area actually for other breweries and oddly they were all closed. So we were super happy to come across Clemson Bros. They have a nice outside seating area with heated fire pit. You just have to order something off food menu. Even a small bite but that was fine because we were looking for dinner as well. The beer was delicious and the food was surprisingly good for a brewery. I actually got one of the salads and it was really good and seemed fresh.Would recommend if you’re in the area!!Bathrooms were really clean too which was a plus!!
We shot a wedding at Clemson Bros. last September and had our photo booth at another event. We LOVE the industrial/ brewery setting. If you are looking to have your event/ wedding here, you cannot go wrong! The beer and selections are amazing. Their getting ready room is one of the best in the area (if not the best). The staff is knowledgable, always there to help and just overall awesome. We cannot wait to be back!
We stopped here on our way back home from Angry Orchard. It became apparent that it was worth stopping here because I could only narrow down my choices of appetizers to 8. We ate at the bar, finally settling with the cheese curds, and the Brew-tine fries. Both amazing! Then, it was the the Big Bad Wolf burger. I couldnt put it down. So good! I tried a few of the beers and liked what I tried. I just cant remember their names. We brought home a crowler of the Nights sour. I only wish we were closer as this would certainly be a regular place for us. The staff were very friendly and helped us decide what to try. If youre in the area, make this your destination!
Enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Didnt like when the time to pay came a person who I assume was the manager saw the cash payment came over and grabbed the check He was in his late 40,s with a beard. The waitress was a small girl very polite with glasses. I left a 17 dollar tip and I hope she received it. Didnt like that move. Pay your server
Had a great time there and the beet and the food was great. 11 different beers to choose from. And all different. I tried 5 of them. If i would of done all 11 I would be sleeping behind the bar. Service was great. They did mix up my beer order. But the beers are so good that I didnt mind. People complained the beer was flat. Its not. If you are used to a bottle or can I might seem flat. But it isnt its perfect carbonation, just enough to where you can feel it. Great food and great craft beer.
I usually post things on restourant, but I could not wait to write and take pictures for a review on that app just yet. This brewery is a breath of fresh air in Middletown. The food is delicious and the staff are down to Earth. I left my decision to the bartender and was not disappointed. Im bringing the rest of my family this weekend to let them expand BETTER options from Middletown.
We were looking for a nice place to stop for lunch on a trip through southern New York last week - something more than just a typical franchise restaurant out on the interstate - and this is was exactly what we had in mind. We were treated to very friendly and attentive service and excellent, well-prepared food. I enjoyed a small flight of Clemson Bros. very good and fresh craft beer. We also really enjoyed the pleasant and historically interesting setting in a carefully restored 19th century industrial building. Plenty of parking right out front.
I got the Stout BBQ wings and they were some of the best wings Ive ever had I also got the Big Bad Wolf burger and that was amazing too! I love their hard cider since it is local but I really fell in love their their Blueberry Wheat beer! Their Blueberry wheat beer is seriously addictive and incredibly delicious! Great atmosphere and staff, this is going to be a regular place for me to visit!
We went here for my father in laws birthday today. Although there was an event, and they warned that food may take awhile, the service was great and there was hardly any wait. My in laws always get appetizers so we had the pierogis, cheese curds, and pretzels. Everything was delicious, and came in generous portions. For my late lunch I had the Star Victor, which was so good that I literally inhaled it at one point and choked. Everyone in our group left full with happy bellies!
We attended a birthday dinner here for 10 people. We were set up at a table that sits 8 and were told we couldnt use a bigger table because they were reserved for really big parties (this was a Thursday night and the entire party section was empty all night). Food was sub-par. Our waitress cut our cake for us, then upon bringing our check, the manager put a $50 cake cutting fee on our bill. 50$ to cut a cake and we were not told about this in advance. Great service but the management obviously does not care much about their guests. Im sure stopping in for a couple beers and food would be a good experience but parties are a no go!
They have delicious burgers. The fries are really different and delicious. They serve their own beers which are pretty good, but I wish they served popular brands as well. The AC was cranking and theres fans blowing it around so if you get cold easily you should bring the sweater. We were greeted by friendly staff the place is nice and clean and the price is fair. The only negative because I dont like getting out of baskets is the food is served in baskets lined with paper.
Beautiful building. Great beers in many different styles. The French onion soup was very tasty. The space is set up well with good social distancing. Staff not good about masks covering noses and mouths, and we heard them making fun of some guests too in a not nice/funny way, so the vibe overall was not super comfy, which was a bit of a bummer given the good beer and food menu. Would try again.
Honestly one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten at. We had to seat ourselves, there is no wait staff so we had to continually get up and go to the bar to ask for anything and it took over an hour for our food to be prepared when there were only a handful of people in the establishment. The food itself was extremely bland and they screwed up one of our orders. We were so annoyed we didnt even say anything. I could get better service if I got a bottle of malt liquor from a Bodega and went to Burger King. I have never reviewed a restaurant and I feel bad for the staff because they werent bad I think there were only3 people working in there but this place was so awful I have to say something.
1st time visit. Came with some friends. Had buffalo chicken wings to start. They tasted great. Ordered old-time burger which comes with parmesan truffle fries. Burger and fries were great tasting. Burger was cooked the way I asked. Had a couple shots and a couple Lola beers. Both good. Service was good and attentive. My only complaint is wings come in a 8ct for $11. Have no issue paying money but 8 wings should be at least changed to 10. Still 5 star place. Everything was great and so was server. Will be returning soon.
The food is usually spot on, but their customer service is why I give this a 2 from my experience today. Not wanting a ‘heavy’ beer, I ordered a mojito. Took 2 sips literally…worst mojito ever - not even close to a mojito. Notified bartender, that it was not good at all and asked if I would be charged the $10. The response was a first (and a last here) for me: “I can’t not charge you because you don’t like it.” 😳
An amazingly great burger and also awesome chicken sandwich. The manager was friendly and on point all the time. Ourself and our client was really satisfied. Even the french fries were among the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked. The burger had a perfect broiled crust on the outside top and bottom and didnt bleed into the bread - it was all just excellent. The team at Clemson makes it happen!
Management approached our group and rudely demanded that we rent out the space for $250/hr.Although the establishment was empty except for a few patrons. Had some folks merely stopping in to say Hi and leaving shortly afterwards. The manager was quite abrasive and rude. Our waitress was apologetic on his behalf, for that reason only I gave 1 star. Will never visit again. Hopefully the newest location in Pine island doesn’t suffer from this management style!!!!Update:Owner did reach out today to rectify the situation.I am very happy with how the owner responded and made amends for our bad experience.Looking forward to giving this establishment another chance.
Great outdoor views and breeze. We had the salads and they were basic, good and fresh. The Salmon was a add on and grilled nicely. Don’t ask for bread because you won’t get it. Beer selection good. Bourbon rice pudding dry as a bone and awful. Not delicious not creamy at all. Tasted old. The reason I’m giving one star is the service has a don’t care attitude. They spray disinfectant on neighboring tables while your eating and don’t spray into cloth which should be disposable in the world of COVID-19 and the spray almost blew into my eyes from the wind. I mentioned to server and she commented rudely. Clearly they need better day sanitation measures. The bus people pick up dirty silverware, glasses and plates without gloves. They are handling checks as well and it’s sketchy watching this.
My wife and I went for dinner last night. We ordered an appetizer and burgers. It all came to the table at the same time which is ridiculous. My wife wanted her burger medium. It was medium rare. I ordered medium rare and half the burger was well done, the other half almost raw. I stopped eating it. When the majority of your menu is burgers you should be able to cook it properly. The fries were cold and greasy hence inedible. The cheese curds were decent at best, nothing special. My beer was ok, also nothing special. My wife loved her mixed drink. There was a guy being loud and yelling off and on that staff did nothing about. Just a disappointing experience overall.
Had a great time. Love the atmosphere. Nice outdoor seating with an indoor & outdoor bar. The waitresss were great. We were greated as soon as we walked in. The service is excellent! Its nice to enjoy the flavor of a local resturant. Good food! I didnt ask but a tour would be nice explaining the history of the place & the beer making process. The waitress did tell us what kind of beer they make. We will definitely return, we highly recommend!
The food was great. Truthfully no complaints. However, our meal was ruined by our unfriendly and inattentive waitress. I think the receipt said her name is Caitlon. She was rude, threw the menus down, didn’t come to see how the food was, left us without water the entire meal, never said bye. Her attitude was poor to every table. I can’t believe she would be a waitress, she seems to hate people.Truffle fries were good though. Won’t be back.
We just stopped in to see what it was like and cannot wait to go back. First, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were excellent and friendly. The beers were great! The menu looked fantastic but we had just had a big lunch elsewhere. Cant wait to go back for a meal and more delicious beer!
Beer is pretty good. Small area indoors. Food is great! Would love to see some fun events or things to do in the brewery, because without stuff to do, its just a specialized bar.Dont get me wrong, I really like the place. Will definitely be returning! This place tops any other place to drink in Middletown.
Used to be great!!! It seems like they have such fast turnover that no one can properly cook the burgers any longer. The truffle fries are not really truffle fries. They are over cooked little bits of french fries with a teaspoon of parmesan cheese thrown on top. Save your money and go to tapped. At least they have personality and cook amazing
I was very happy to stop here on my trek from the poconos down into the Hudson valley. The building is beautiful and very unique, even down to the faucets in the bathroom. The staff were VERY nice and helpful, and the food wasnt bad.The only thing that took a star away was the food, although delicious with the mixture of flavored, was over cooked. Almost everything we had was over cooked. The fried mozzarella was almost all melted out, and the burgers could have been cooked to our liking, as they use very meaty patties (I wouldnt be surprised if its just ground beef made into a patty there). And my ladies bun was almost entirely mush when it came out. We were able to flip the burger over and eat it that way, but put the lettuce on the bottom, this prevents the juices from soaking into the bun and making it soggy. If it wasnt for the food being over cooked, this place would have rocked 5 stars easily as again its beautiful, and the staff were so very nice. Also the beer is good!! Delightfully good actually. Ive been to quite a few Hudson valley breweries and this places beer is right now my favorite. I do wish to go back at some point.
My dining experience at this brewery was not great. My pierogies were from a box and they were fried and cold. My veggie burger was mushy, soggy and fifteen dollars. There was less variety than there used to be as far as food choices. I hear the beer is great, but I did not try it. I might come back for beer, but not food.
Love the out door space, games, and ambiance. Food and beer are very expensive. Food is good, beer gets a B-. Beer pours are very short. Service people are very nice but there is not enough of them during lunch (if the bar is busy, the bartenders should not also be servers). Lots of promise but needs improvement. Also, the growlers are just a fortune. Why would one spend $18-$20 on 64 oz of beer when you can buy a six pack (72 oz) for $12? Without package and distribution, shouldnt it be cheaper? Just a suggestion.
So I wanted to take my wife out for happy hour this Friday night after work to a place we have enjoyed in the past. After arriving here we reliazed that the establishment was under new ownership. They had NO happy hour at 5:00 pm on a Friday. The beers are now served in 13 ounce wine glasses and now charging $8.50 a glass. The food menu has changed significantly and lost a lot of the old time favorites. We ordered food, by the way, the prices for that is for the city folks, WAY OVERPRICED. The food was very disappointing. They say they are serving truffle fries with sandwiches, those were by far the worst fries I had, soaked in oil and clumped together and seasoned with parsley and cheese. We were so disappointed that we will NOT be returning and will be letting our friends know as well.I do have to leave off by saying that I do give the restaurant staff five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️For their hard work and efforts that they are doing. Best of luck,Check out Huckleberry pub, downtown Newpaltz
The first time in many years to receive a medium rare burger when ordered! They werent afraid to cook it just right and the fries were to die for! Truffle fries with the burger comes standard but not with the sandwiches ... *note to self*HIGHLY recommend going there if youre in the mood for some good eats and great beer.
I wish I could give this place 5 stars, because the building, aesthetic, and branding are so on point, they make such a great first impression. The beer garden was closed for a private event, which was fine, but the servers inside were seriously spread thin, with a full house to tend to. I had the Raspberry Blonde Ale, but it didnt really seem to matter what I ordered, since every single beer each of us at the table ordered tasted bland and flat. I ordered the Billy Burger, which I thought was delicious, and somewhat redeemed my beer experience, save for the fact that my server hardly checked on us so I could order another drink to quench my thirst. He was very nice, but clearly overwhelmed. Im hoping the owners/management take all the criticisms to heart, because I would love to be able to come back in the future and enjoy both the food and beer.
The burgers and fries are better than the beer. Which is saying a lot because the beer if phenomenal. The only thing preventing a 5 star review is that you cant order food from the outside bar. Makes no sense to me. Overall though the food, beers, and service are good.
Food is overpriced and nothing special, I would suggest you eat beforehand. I had a drink and once I finished I found a piece of thick plastic lying in the bottom of the glass. When I returned it to the bar to let them know, they couldnt be bothered. The beer tastes flat and watered down, something you definitely wouldnt expect from a brewery. After a short conversation with the owner he proved himself to be quite rude and snobby. I would rather save my money for a business run by someone more appreciative with higher quality food and drinks, preferably somewhere that doesnt carelessly leave garbage floating around in your drinks.
Cool building, nice outdoor seating. The beers on the other hand were a solid swing and a miss. Weak attempts at the styles. Ordered 2 flights with my wife to try all the beers. The kettle sours were drinkable but unremarkable. All the ipas had a strong ashtray flavor that was seriously offputting. Both stars are for the atmosphere and French fries which were both great.
I went to a wedding here today. The place is so small. The room they put us in has no air movement and not enough seats to accomadate everyone. The beer garden is nice but also very small. Only 4 tables for 100 people. Most of us had to stand. Went in for food and no seats. Went out to the bar just to sit for a few mins to eat and were told we had to get up. It was so unbelievably hot in there with no fans, it was awful to stand, sweat and try to eat. The staff wasnt even nice about it. The food was mediocre and they had 4 different types of wings. None of them were labeled. I would never recommend this place. Not just for a wedding but not even for dinner. Horrible service. The poor bride was beside herself. Nice job ruining her day!
So the place looks great and all, but we were a big group and moved a few tables ( outside in the beer garden area) together, and were told to move them back apart. I understand if the tables are serviced it could be a problem, but everyone has to order from the counter. It was a real disappointment and didnt make for a fun time.
All and all I had an awesome experience here. The bartender was really enthusiastic about recommending good beer to us. We loved everything we tried, there except maybe the burger. It was slightly over cooked. But the cheese plate was a life changed for me. I never ate cheese by itself until I went to Clemson brothers and had a delicious plate complimented with a light and fruity beer, which was one of the best beers Ive had in the Hudson Valley.Got flights the whole time and loved everything I got.The bathroom was super cool. They have mouthwash in their bathrooms that you can just use! And mints! So cool. And the sinks were freaking awesome, too.The beercade is an awesome idea. Playing some games while youre drinking good beer is the way I want to spend my whole day.Whatever bar you decide to sit at is a great atmosphere. Its fresh and open outside while the inside is cozy and chill. Its a good place to hang out and watch some sports. And the venue is a georgous old saw mill and anyone can appreciate the history. Would recommend this place to every living human being on earth.
Walked in got a terrible attitude from the hostess. Didn’t even walk us to the table and said we had to come back inside to order , when there was only one other couple there, the amount of laziness was crazy. So shocked by how rude she was. Starving but I didn’t want to give my business and it was sad because the food sounded good.
We come into Clemson once a week or once every other week. The food and beer are great! I love the new sour beer! But the service is what keeps us coming back. Lawrence is so attentive and gives us such a great experience every single time!! We’ll continue to come back!!!
We hosted a Welcome Party last weekend for our son and daughter in laws wedding weekend at Clemson Bros. Nicholas and his crew did a fabulous job with our rowdy bunch. We had approximately 80 guests and the food and service were amazing. Everyone had a great time and commented on what awesome venue it was.
First time my wife and I have been there since the Clemson Bros. took over. My synopsis: Service was 5 Stars; Food was 5 Stars; Unfortunatly the Beer was 1 Star. I actually tried 8 small samples. After 8 samples I gave up and ordered one of the 8 that was the least bit offensive. In all fairness to the Brewery, I did not try the other 8 or so on tap. Perhaps I was unlucky to have tried the only 8 I hated. BTW...Been to many Micros in many other states, I usually can settle for about 3 out of every 4 selections I tried. Not this place. HOWEVER, we will come back for the food and the great service....we will just order ginger ale or water with the meal.
Went based on the good reviews and after hearing good things from friends. The whole experience could be explained in three words: bland and burnt. The burgers were overcooked and one was so burnt on the bottom it wasnt edible. The meat had no flavor at all. The BlackBerry jam was decent. Everything else was bland. Tasted like the burgers were cooked from frozen. If the food was cheaper it would be a different story, but a $14 dollar burger better at LEAST be cooked the way it was ordered.I was very excited for the truffle fries, which were also disappointing. Not terrible but soggy and bland. Not much truffle oil. Seemed they just loaded it with parmesan and hoped for the best.Shrimp ceviche tacos were bland, which I didnt think possible, and the shrimp tasted a bit suspicious. The beer all tasted basically the same despite the three varieties we got, and all three tasted flat, watered down, and a bit like dishwater. After we left I text a friend who said they had similar experiences with watered down beers there on occasion. The fourth beer on the flight, the porter, tasted like extremely burnt expresso. The wait staff was friendly enough but obviously too busy to handle things well. Barely saw them.Kind of sad because this could be such a hot spot and really bring some life into the community. Maybe they were having an off night but we wont be coming back for a second try.
The beer is great- a little heavy on the Ales, but there is a wheat and porter as well to balance them. The cocktails made from locally distilled spirits are wonderful, and the food is beyond excellent, the beer garden and game rooms are a lot of fun, and the staff is genuinely friendly. This is the turn that I really hope Middletown continues on!
Loved it here. The food was great, the service was even better. Good atmosphere. I happened to lose something after I was there and called a week later to see if they happened to find it. The young man who answered the phone was so nice and even went out of his way to call me back so I wouldnt have to call them. Its nice that some people get what it means to be kind and offer good service.
I gave this place several chances and will not be going back.Number one, the beers they brew are always flat and nothing is impressive. A flat beer is ruined so even if they had good flavor theyd still be bad. I see other people have reported the same thing so I hope they read this, take note, and fix their keg system or whatever it takes.I had a very good hard cider last time, it was not brewed there... and IT WAS 9 DOLLARS. For a hard cider. This isnt NYC you cant get away with that in Middletown. The food is a mixed bag, I had a great wrap once but nothing else was very good. Goat cheese burger was so sloppy and had a huge cold glob of goat cheese on it that was overwhelming and ruined the burger. Unimpressive appetizers, small menu. Also when you order a burger they give you the options of some pink or no pink... what is this Applebees? I cant order medium rare?Unfortunately I just cannot recommend this place, as primarily it is a brewery and the beers are awful (Im not an expert but Ive been to many breweries and know beer shouldnt be flat!), the pricing is all out of whack, and the food is nothing to write home about.Atmosphere is a positive... cute place and cool ladies room lol.Sorry :/
Burgers are great. But or waitress behind the bar was absolutly clueless and she has been there since they opened. Never have I written a review but had to for this place. Wife and I ordered 2 beers, muzzerela sticks and burgers for both of us. Beers tasted great. The muzzerela sticks came out and where absolutly atrocious. Well done to say the least. All the cheese was melted out of them and we were left with just the breading. Brought it to the attention of our waitress and she said it was normal but would ask the cook. She came back 2 min later and said that it was normal for the cheese to be melted completely out of the muzz sticks. Burgers came out. Absolutly amazing burgers. However nothing else was right. It said it comes with waffle fries. It came with straight string fries. Also the menue says it comes wirth a home made pickle. But there was no pickle. I brought it to the attention of the waitress and she said you have to request the pickle, even though it says it comes with it. Definitely a bad dining experience, probably wouldnt go back unless I knew things changed. Think the manager would have over heard us talking about things since he was right behind us counting money. Could be a great place.
The food was overcooked and overpriced. The service was poor. The young lady behind the bar was showing some local craft licqours to other customers. When I displayed some interest in these items, she made no attempt to show them to me. Moreover, the owner came in entertaining some friends. Although I did not know he was the owner, I moved over from my seat to accomodate his friends/clients. He bought his buddies free food and drinks, but I didnt get so much as a free beer. They are clueless.
This brewery has an incredible outdoor space with a huge beer garden secluded behind the historic building that is perfect for enjoying the full range of their craft beer. The beer selection is nice for a small microbrewery and covers a nice range of styles like a light blonde ale and a dark robust stout with hop heavy pale ales in between. Also outside is a play area with ping pong tables. There’s nowhere nicer to enjoy some tasty beer outside on a fine day than their beer garden.
I have been going to Clemson Brewery since they opened. The first few times the beers were as flat as flat as can get. When the group I was with and I complained, we were told it is what it is and were forced to be robbed of our 7+ dollars for a beer that you couldnt even drink. Now tonight, May 20th it got even worse. The bartender and management who was helping the bar couldnt even get their prices right for the same beer. Two bartenders, TWO DIFFERENT PRICES! Then when I decided I still wanted my next beer after being given a different price, guess what happened to the change I should have received back? The bartender stole my change and placed it right in the tip jar. Didnt ask if the change was theirs, didnt ask a damn thing. It was clearly robbery. While I am not quite so upset about having the change stolen from me, as I would have left it as a tip, plus some. What really kills me is the fact that I can no longer go there to drink. What happens when I have a few drinks, start to feel good, and have to hand the bartender a bigger bill to pay for those drinks? Will I be robbed of that change too?!? Or best yet, what happens when you open the tab with your card? Will they rob you of what you have in your bank account? I love the atmosphere, no doubt. The beers have come a long way. If Clemson doesnt pay more attention to the shenanigans their staff is trying to pull, they will lose a whole hell of a lot more business then just mine. >>If the owners of this brewery do end up reading this, it was May 20th between 8:30 and 9:30 PM
Ive been to the brewery a number of times already as it is so I figured Id review. Clemson Bros has a terrific atmosphere in their indoor taproom featuring a rustic bar a steampunk esque kind of look and a view at their brewing wares and equipment as well as a spacious beer garden outside. The food is usually pretty good and the service has always been good to me. While Clemson Bros does serve food it is first and foremost a brewery. My initial visit last year saw many good brews on tap. Clemson Bros features a variety of beers from pilsners porters wheat and pale ales and ipas of differing magnitudes. My only disappointment is that the beers always come out flat and uncarbonated with no effervescance. While im sure thats not how they intend to brew them i dont complain up front however every time i come i tell myself things will be different and unfortunately every time Ive been there since theyve always come out flat. Hopefully at some point they remedy this as i do enjoy being there and seeing what they have on tap.
Disappointed we noticed on our bill a 20% gratuity was already included when the waiter brought my wife and I a check....... the service was fine, but we don’t appreciate a place adding a 20% tip to the bill automatically especially when there was only the 2 of us on a Friday night at 6:30PM .... we will not be returning.
Where to begin?...The food, what limited options they have, is slightly better than average, but factor in price and its extremely subpar!...they spent almost 3 months renovating the kitchen and they only added a few new options...NOW they are charging 50 cents for hot sauce!?!?...hot sauce anywhere else is a condiment and there is NO charge, but not here!...whats next, charge for ketchup?!?!?...onto the beer, because after all, this is a brewery...they list that they produce like 16 beers, but they keep having the same beers week after week!...if it wasnt for trivia night, I would never come here!...so much potential, but poor execution...disappointing😥

2022-06-12Stopped on the way from Connecticut back home to Pennsylvania for some lunch. Place was beautiful and the server was super nice and attentive. My wife and I both got the Pilsner and was perfect for what we were looking for. For food, I got the wings, ordered Buffalo and xtra crispy and they came out perfect! In my top 3 I ever had and I eat wings quite often. My wife got the Turkey Melt and that was incredible too. Not sure when I’ll be back in the town, but would 100 percent stop again!

2022-01-18My Wife and I popped in here for a quick lunch session last week. The place was very quiet on a Thursday at 1pm and beside 1 other table, we had the place to ourselves. We had a beer flight. All the beers were very good especially the breakfast stout. We had the cider as well, which was also delicious...and strong! For lunch we split an order of cheese curds, which was a massive portion, they were delicious and fried perfectly...but pass on the chipotle Mayo that came with em. We also split a bacon cheeseburger with truffle parmesan fries. Cheeseburger was good, but needed a little salt and the truffle fries needed more of everything, parm, truffle oil, salt. Nothing was bad, rather pretty decent and cooked nicely...just a little bland. The place itself is gorgeous and seemed like they have an amazing outdoor area, weather permitting. They have really cool sink fixtures in the bathrooms that are quite the work of art. We sat at the bar and our bartender and server Mike was awesome. Super friendly dude whom we shared some laughs and great conversation with. He also pointed us in the direction of some other cool spots for beer and wine nearby. Very nice of him. Thanks Mike. Place is awesome, check it out!!!

2021-11-14Love the whole property. Great outdoor area. Decent beer selection and food is not bad. We got the chopped salad with chicken and one of their burgers but substituted chicken and a pretzel bun. The chicken on the salad was a pretty small portion for a $4 up charge on a salad that would have otherwise just been romaine lettuce, tomatoes, spring onions and bacon, but it tasted good! They were unfortunately out of maybe 1/3 of the menu (all soups, anything with turkey, lots of random other stuff) which made it a little tough to order, but we’ll be back!

2022-04-20Intriguing industrial æsthetic, complete with stark brickface. Sleek furnishings and friendly staff. Food decent and fairly priced. Seating al fresco in season. Frequent location for the Orange County Libertarian Party’s gatherings.

2021-07-26I really enjoyed the Island Breeze drink, parmesan truffle fries, & chicken Waldorf salad. A lot of their ingredients were missing (our waiter said something about the food truck being late) so hopefully I’ll get to come back soon and try menu items that I didn’t get to try yesterday! Great service and clean bathrooms. They have a neat-looking faucet in the bathroom, not sure if anyone else finds that stuff cool but I do.

2022-03-28Although Im not a beer drinker, I went to the Clemson Brewery with family who were and we were all very satisfied with the options and service. The food, ambiance and drinks were all outstanding. The staff were kind enough to accommodate our large group on late notice. I plan to come back as I heard they have a wonderful outdoor space for the warm months.

2022-06-08Been meaning to try Clemson Bros out for a while now. Me and my daughter went today for an early dinner and Samantha was our server. Despite how busy she was, she was friendly and attentive, which I much appreciated being a server myself. I got the Old Timer burger… best burger I’ve ever had. Seriously. Simple but juicy, well seasoned and definitely a mix of different cuts of beef. I’m bringing a crew next time!!! Thank you Clemson Bros and Samantha!!

2021-08-04Great atmosphere, love the beer garden. Had a Trinity Test on tap—one of the more opaque and creamy IPAs I’ve had—very citrusy. Ate a fried chicken sandwich and a pork belly sandwich. Chicken was delicious and messy. Pork Belly was like an elevated BLT. I appreciate the paper straw for the soda too. The wife says “eat outside—it’s very nice.” Good place to meet friends, hope to return soon.

2022-03-03Went with five people couldn’t sit in the main room had to sit out back. (Couldn’t move a chair to a table of four) It’s a shame as the beer was good. They charge additional 4% for using a credit card then add Tax and service, at this rate the place will go out of business.
