This new place is great, but could use a few upgrades. A larger, legible from distance, beer menu would help w us, older folks to see whats available. The pastry selection is great, love me a french style scone w currants! Since you must buy food to purchase a beer, some savory snack options would be ideal. A soft pretzel, popcorn, pretzel chips, nuts, etc would be nice to nosh on while enjoying the great beer selection. Some more art would be a nice touch. Maybe a mural, or graffiti style art on an accent wall?PS- please, no jock rock.Cheers!
Climbing Wolf has only been here a short time in Dobbs and theyve already become a fixture of the area. Im pretty sure they opened right before the pandemic and despite that, theyve turned out to be a phenomenal place. The owners are incredibly hard working and you can tell that from the wide selection of craft beers and coffee they offer. Its hard for me to pick a favorite because everything here is great. And the staff really work their butt off to make people feel as comfortable as possible. And while we all recovering from the devastation of the pandemic, I think its very important to have a place like this that offers incredible service, a friendly atmosphere, and a place for people of the community to come, relax, and socialize. Its definitely a home away from home! Come by!
My first experience at climbing wall I saw this porter that had accents of cherry. I came out with this idea to add a shot of espresso in it. It ended up being a pretty amazing concoction. I really love this place its one of the only coffee shops that you can actually sit down in that I know of. The coffee is excellent and a beer selection is also amazing. Have eight taps with unique beers that rotate and to reach and three-door cooler filled with beers youve never heard of. Staft is fantastic easy to talk to youre not going to want to leave.
Whether you are in the mood for specialty coffee, craft beer, or just want some homies to hangout with, Climbing Wolf excels in all three areas. It’s the Dobbs Ferry equivalent of “Cheers,” when you walk in, everyone knows your name and everyone is buddies.Climbing Wolf has been a welcome addition to the River Towns and has gelled smoothly with the Dobbs vibe since opening over a year ago.Next time you’re in town, be sure to stop in for a couple drinks and chat up the friendly staff or the folks around you!
When I moved to the area, the fact there wasn’t a coffee shop closer than Tarrytown was disappointing (Starbucks doesn’t count and Dublin’s swill shouldn’t even count as coffee). However, once Climbing Wolf opened that changed. The coffee is amazing, plus they use quality roasters rather than whatever can be bought in bulk like some shops do. They have the best maple latte outside of Vermont. Plus, the one younger woman makes the best lattes. The workers are all friendly and helpful.Oh, did I mention their craft beer selection? No? It’s amazing. The selection is unparalleled in quality.
Climbing wolf is fantastic, honestly I come here twice a day once in the morning for coffee and after hours for a beer or three. The staff here is phenomenal from Chris and JB to Colleen and Terry every time I come in here I feel like family. The pastries and coffee are a great way toStart the day and the beer selection is the best way to end it. Honestly I can’t say enough good things about this place except to come here and try it for yourself.
Climbing Wolf is the sort of place that you dream up in a cute, walkable, modern town like Dobbs Ferry. The beer selection is really stellar, all the coffee Ive had has been excellent, and the employees/owners are awesome. Its a cut above and I hope it remains in town for a long time.
Had a great experience there today. Coffee was on the house for their soft opening. Service was top notch. There is a take out window for those that prefer it. Everyone inside was either distanced (when eating and drinking at a table) or wearing masks. All the servers were wearing masks correctly. Thank you for the great coffee and beer selection. Ive been waiting for this place to open!
If you’re looking for some amazing craft beer, you need to come to Climbing Wolf. They have a great selection of craft beer and have a great, caring, and very personable staff. Even as a first time customer, they will treat you like you’re a regular. So come by, grab a beer, and have a good time.
A really cool concept of a place where you can get quality coffee with different options of plant based milks like macademia (very rare in other coffee places) hemp, oat, and cow milk. The beer section is really good as well, they carry quality artesenal beer to go and they have tap; the gentleman behind the beer area is very knowledgable when it comes to beer. The space is nice, spacious and is great for families, dates, friends and to hang out. They just opened this weekend and I highly recommend it if you are into java and beer.
Egg-celent. Owned by two brothers who live in town. The place is so clean, welcoming, and well-stocked with top tier coffee and beer. But without the pretension and crowding of the “hip” coffee shop/craft beer spot. It’s SO awesome to have local business owners who you can tell really care about what they’re doing. Catch me here a couple nights a week.
If one picture can describe Climbing Wolf Coffee and Beer it would be this one of a nitro brew latte, salted caramel cupcake, and mornin latte stout. The coffee is phenomenal. You can tell a lot of pride is taken in making a perfect cup of coffee by the high quality coffee and espresso machines. The beer selection both on tap and in cans are quite varied, pleasing a multitude of tastes from lagers to ciders to stouts. If you are looking for coffee to fuel you up in the morning and beer to wind down at the end of the day this is the first place you should check out.The atmosphere in this place is typically laid back and you can find all types of locals in here. You wont be disappointed when you walk through the door!
Climbing Wolf was an interesting combo of coffee house and craft beer hall staffed by people who know their offerings inside out and seemed to live their work.Just received a notice from The Cookery about a wing night at Climbing Wolf. I look forward in the upcoming months of collaborations of great beverages paired with delicious food offerings from chefs like David DiBari. Stay tuned!

2022-05-26Climbing Wolf has been a staple of mine since they opened. Their staff is wonderful, friendly, well trained and courteous. They make great lattes and their cold brew tastes like chocolate milk. I’ve also purchased their whole bean coffees for home brew and love the selection they have.At night they become a bar, although I’m always surprised by how many people enjoy a day beer. They have a nice selection of craft beers to go and I have enjoyed the cans that I get to go.Highly recommend this place!

2021-04-08This spot is exactly what Dobbs needed. Originally, I started coming for the great coffee selection, but ended up turning into a beer fan with their great variety of beers on tap. My husband also loves it because he can take beer to go from their fridge which also has plenty to choose from. It has a great atmosphere with friendly staff and features local art along with a really cool mural in the back. Definitely stop by if you havent been already.

2022-03-09Ive been to Climbing Wolf a few times since it opened. Its a solid business. They make tasty coffee drinks-Im a fan of the cappuccino, and I like their croissants. They also serve some good beers. They have fresh taps and an interesting selection that rotates frequently. They have a beer fridge too. One draw back is not much of a menu. I had a bag of potato chips. Maybe one day theyll have some apps and a few sandwiches to nosh on. Nice location in Dobbs and steps from the OCA if youre up for a walk.

2021-12-13Comfortable corner beer and coffee place with an excellent selection of beer and knowledgeable staff thats passionate about craft brews. If you cant find a beer you like in their rotating draft menu, youll definitely find something in the fridge thats stocked with a great variety of craft beers. No mass-market brews here! Only the good stuff
