Came here for the February special pancakes month menu! I love berries so chose the triple berries day (2/9-2/11). Must say the pancakes themselves exceeded my expectations. I saw on Eater this is one of the best pancakes in the city and was skeptical how different it can be from most pancakes. Oh boy these were some solid quality pancakes! There were 3 pancakes stacked and each was thick, embedded with blueberries and layered with lemon curd. The texture of the pancake was perfectly crispy on the outside (but not too hard or dry), steamy and moist inside with a beautiful steam/smoke upon cutting, even until I ate more than half! The pancake itself was so good I could just eat it without anything. I also ordered a side of the wild blueberry compote to satisfy my curiosity of the signature flavour since the Triple Berries had fresh blueberries. The wild blueberry compote was citrusy, not too sweet and went well with the pancakes.Overall this place deserves to be called having one of the best pancakes in the city!!
I tried their pancakes, wasn’t as expected. In not sure if it was their best offering on the menu. Would suggest booking in advance, the queue can be pretty long. They only would accept cash or card at first, which wasn’t convenient for me. Eventually I was able to pay via Apple Pay.
I was lucky enough to not have to wait and was seated right away. This place is extremely busy but the service was just right. I had the the chocolate chunk pancakes with the best tasting syrup 😋. I also ordered an omelette with goat cheese and spinach. Come with an empty stomach because you will leave full, portions are very large. As a pancake connoisseur, I will be back.
Heard of this gem via YouTube. Is it the best?...no; but, I can honestly say that it did not disappoint! For $20 you get 3 fluffy, moist, sweet large pancakes, a topping, and dipping sauce. They do close mid day and reopen at 5pm w/ a different menu. The options are plenty! I definitely would recommend it as a must try if you are in the area!
After hearing a lot of positive reviews about this place, I decided to try it out.The line was huge, I waited about 1.5hours, so make sure you make a reservation! After the wait I was very excited to finally try their dishes; I ordered a Californian Eggs Benedict with some bacon on the side, it was good but nothing special. My friend ordered a grilled chicken sandwich which she enjoyed, unfortunately the fries had a unpleasant oily taste. The service was very good.
As much as this place is known for their pancakes and chicken & waffles, their real winner is the latke eggs benedict. The dish had well balanced flavors and textures that were executed perfectly. If you can only come once, this dish is a must.Their pancakes are great, but not as mind blowing as people make them out to be. Nor are the chicken and waffles. The chicken wasnt crispy and it was still on the drier side. The syrup, however, is delicious.Service is fast, friendly, and attentive!
Such an amazing breakfast menu!! Our service here was excellent, and both our meals were delicious. My husband could not stop raving about the tomato jam, and the concept of eggs benedict on a buttermilk biscuit was a revelation. Everything was amazing. Will definitely return.
Great variety of brunch items, cant go wrong with any of the dishes. Everything was cooked to perfection - even though it was super busy. Every dish was super filling.Went at 2pm for a late brunch and it was still super busy. Definitely go with a reservation or else expect at least a 30 min wait time.Bathroom is just one stall for both men & women.Covid-19 times: they check your ID & COVID card before entering. And they have plastic dividers between tables which is MUCH appreciated.Blueberry Pancakes - super fluffy with a good amount of tasty blueberries but is nothing special. Its the maple butter syrup that makes the pancakes good.Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich - good but nothing special. The tomato jam was super flavorful and was slightly overpowering - when eaten with the eggs and rest of sandwich, you couldnt really taste the eggs or cheese...just the tomato jam. The egg by itself couldve had more seasoning. Worth adding the optional bacon or sausage to the dish.Latke Eggs Benedict - really good. But the eggs were slightly overcooked unfortunately - had hard boiled eggs instead of a runny yoke. But everything was tasty and super filling.Coffee - large cup, tasty, and was a definite pick me upper.Overall, great experience and glad we stopped by for brunch but wouldnt need to go back again.
The food here is exceptional. Clinton St. Baking Company has the best breakfast Ive ever eaten. I had the blueberry pancakes, chicken sausage and eggs. Everything was cooked to perfection and so delicious. 10/10 would recommend you eat here but pro tip, get there super early because if not youll have to wait a long time.
Never disappointing!! I waited over 3 hours when it was a small restaurant many years ago. But reservation is available now by Resy. So even more better!! Food is always great and service is also good! Blueberry pancakes are amazing!! Fresh squeezed orange juice is very fresh and good!! Definitely one of my favorite brunch places in NYC.
For a small cafe, they have a wonderful system. Food was coming out good and quickly with no issues. As far as wait time like any Sunday breakfast or brunch spot you want to get there early. I was bery please and the wait was worth it. Bartender Jessica was amazing, she handled making drinks for the cafe as well as maintaining great customer service at bar. Its hard to find that now a days. I had the strawberry shortcake waffles. It was good with the sugar bacon too.
Close to my apartment, went there for a late lunch. It is a popular place so expect to wait in line if you go there during the lunch hours. It is a kinda like a brunch place - so many egg options. They also have items like sandwiches, burgers, etc. Of course, a whole bunch of pies :)For drinks we got the raspberry Bellini - they made their own jelly, spreads - very good combo - went down very smoothly.I got the fried chicken sandwich and my fellow diner got the Spanish scramble. The sandwich was very good, crispy and had a nice sauce. It came with coleslaw and fries - the fries were terrible, very soft. The sandwich was itself was excellent. My fellow diner liked her scramble - normally comes with caramelized onions but she substituted it for regular. The hash-browns were amazing made very crisp - amazing! I stole some of that to go with my sandwich. They provide a home-made hot sauce made with habaneros - very spicy so watch your portions - I applied that liberally to my sandwich and it too it to a different level. The place is a bit small, not unusual for NYC, so expect cozy seating. Theres a partition between the tables so all good. They was samba music playing and it added to the nice ambience and took it to a different level! Highly recommend!
Very popular establishment with a lot of history behind it. I had to book over month ahead of time for the early afternoon. Walk in is available but it’s best to pick a weekday. Famous for there chocolate chip pancakes I had to try; me & wife weren’t disappointed! Portions are big I wished we shared.
Soo worth it!!! I’m surprised it took me this long to visit Clinton St. Baking Company. My wife and I came here for breakfast and we loved it, we’ll definitely be back! As you can see in the photo, I had the blueberry pancakes with scrambled eggs and chicken apple sausage, very fresh and the pancakes were perfect! If you like orange juice, I’d highly recommend you try theirs also. Our server was very attentive and the wait staff was on point. 10/10
Clinton St. Baking Company is one of the most popular local family-friendly eateries that serves great American cuisine, and specials such as seasonal pancakes. The choose their ingredients and cook them well. It has been a must-go spot for tourist, before or after the expansion, before or during the pandemic.
My wife was looking for a good breakfast place. This came up, and we decided to give it a try on bases of the reviews they have. Im happy to say it did not disappoint.Firstly, let me say it is good to have a reservation if they take one. ( cuz they did not take ours). We reached the restaurant and put our name down. Waited about 30-40 minutes to be seated. We finally got seated. We were starving, smelling that delicious food😅. We ordered some drinks, orange juice, mimosa, blood orange screwdriver, and market Bellini. Hands down, they all tasted delicious.During this whole time, the server was supper friendly and checking up on us frequently. 👌Food time. Ordered, farmers plate, Spanish scramble, Clinton st. Omelette, and Brioche French toast. Chefs kiss. All food was well cooked, and it was delicious.Overall, positive experienc from food to helpful staff.I highly recommend this place to check it out. We will definitely be back for more food.Keep up the great work, guys!!! 🙌👏🙂
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I recently moved to the city and live nearby but have never been willing to get a table because the wait time is always so crazy. I finally bit the bullet and put my name down at 10am on a Saturday and the wait was TWO AND A HALF HOURS. Not kidding. But honestly it was worth it because the food was so incredibly well done. Another review I saw mentioned that it’s all very simple food but it’s really all in the execution— pancakes were incredibly fluffy and almost dense but not at all too heavy, the waffle was sooo fluffy and perfectly sweet, and the maple butter that comes with everything is literally drinkable on its own; that’s how good it is. Would recommend stopping by if you get a chance or can snag a reservation. I’ll definitely be back!
We made a reservation prior to our visit which got us seated within 5 minutes. We overheard other walk-ups quoted over an hour wait! The food was delicious, the service was excellent (thanks, Matthew!), and the space was cozy. It was possibly the best hot apple cider I have ever had!Definitely worth a visit! Just be sure to plan ahead for less of a wait.
This never disappoints. I dream about these pancakes! 🥞🥞🥞🥞Even if you aren’t a fan of pancakes or breakfast food, your mind will be changed! It’s the perfect amount of toasty outside and fluffy interior. I haven’t been here in a while, but it’s still hands down the best pancakes I’ve ever had! 😍🤤
Favorite brunch spot in all of Manhattan. Prices are fair and their quality has always been consistent throughout the years I’ve been going there. They’re a lot more popular now though so the wait times are kind of a turn off but they are worth it. Their service is always really good as well, servers are accommodating and pleasant.
Came here on my birthday for brunch. This place is very popular so reservations are recommended but hard to get depending on the time of day. We decided to take a chance and show up as walk-ins. It was a Friday morning and the place was packed. Fortunately, we only had a 40 minute wait. Once we were seated, the service was a bit slow, but they were busy after all. We ordered mimosas and bellinis to drink which were pretty tasty. The pancakes were amazing, they were light and fluffy and the maple butter syrup complimented them well. My friend enjoyed her breakfast platter, she raved over the scrambled eggs. It’s nice being able to get brunch on a weekday, I’d definitely return.
Clinton Street had big expectations to live up to and it sure delivers. I got the blueberry pancakes and my significant other got the banana walnut. The blueberry was a good balance of sweetness and freshness. The banana made the pancakes a little too sweet. The walnuts provided a nice texture contrast to the soft fluffy pancakes. The bottomless coffee was definitely worth it as a palette cleanse when the pancakes got too sweet.
This was recommended on a “best breakfast/brunch in NYC” page and so I decided to check it out! The worst part was choosing what I wanted, as everything looked and sounded amazing. I got the hot apple cider and chicken and waffles. Both were super yummy! The waffle was fluffy and amazing and the maple butter sauce was probably the best part. I would love to come back and get a chance to try the pancakes I saw everyone eating or the brioche French toast.
You can never go wrong at Clinton St....you just cant! The food is consistently good, VERY good! I wish I could remember our waitresses name last night. She was absolutely Awesome! I hate to say it, but thats a rare experience in New York City.My new jam at CSBC, the blood orange spicy margarita. What?!! Absolutely delish! Thanks for another yummy experience Clinton St. 😋Oh...by the way, its pancake month. You have a few days to go get you some! Just do it. You wont regret it! @deliciousbiteslw -IG
Im not a brunch person, but during my New York trip, this was probably my favorite restaurant I visited. The restaurant is very popular so I recommend trying to book a reservation via Resy before your visit. I also went back a second time during my trip and walked in around 2 pm on a Monday, and I didnt need to wait at all.The pancakes are a must-try and are the best Ive ever had. The crazy thing is, theyre just pancakes - nothing crazy or different. Its simple food done right. The texture of the pancakes is perfect. The blueberry compote isnt too sweet and complements nicely. And the best part is the maple butter, which glues everything together with a rich flavor.Same goes for the chicken and waffles. Theres a nice touch of honey on the crunchy, yet juicy chicken tenders. The waffles are nice and crisp and I doused it in the maple butter as well.Theres also bottomless coffee for $10, a tad pricey in my opinion, but their batch brew is actually surprisingly good. Its not bitter and begging for cream and sugar like most diner coffees and even has some nice fruity notes.
Well worth a 3 hour wait! We are in town for a day and we wanted to do brunch. This was the place to be! Lines stretching out the door down the block, even carry out had await! From the hostess to the general manager, to the server and bartender, everyone did a phenomenal job! We will be back!!! Thank you Clinton Street 💜
This is a review of the Clinton Street Baking Company location at the Timeout market in Dumbo/ Brooklyn. Note that the menu at that location is limited compared to the full service restaurant. The food quality was below par. Do those look like hash browns? They tasted like boiled potatoes that were burnt on a skillet.
A very popular spot so make sure you make a reservation. We were put on the waiting list, but still people who came in after us with no reservation were put in before us. This we knew because they were Dutch as well and they confirmed this with us. The manager was very rude as well, so it was a very bad start. The food was good though and the waiters were nice. So there is a lot of room for improvement on management level.
If you try to walk in on a weekend morning, be prepared for a 2+ hour wait. We had to get our reservation a month ahead of time, so we had high hopes for Clinton St. Baking Company as an awesome experience. Overall, it was a bit underwhelming but still good. We got the famous blueberry pancakes as well as the chicken in waffles. The pancakes were extremely sweet - so sweet that it felt a bit one note. The chicken and waffles were also not particularly flavorful. Nothing was bad, but definitely not worth the big big hype!
I finally found a breakfast spot! My husband and I enjoyed our entire experience at Clinton St. Baking Co. From the easy walk-in process, to the COVID-19 safety protocols, to the clean bathroom to the FOOD! I have a gluten allergy so I had an egg dish with chorizo. My husband had the pancakes, which he claims were the best he had in years. The potato cakes were also very good.I also recommend the watermelon lemonade. So refreshing! We will be back again soon.
Exceptional breakfast in a staple NYC restaurant. Staff was amazing, quick, and courteous. Safety barriers throughout for ease of mind. Food is incredible. The star being the pancakes, fluffy and perfectly cooked. Being that it is pancakes and we most likely had had countless pancakes it is hard to impress. I never had pancakes this good. Prices are incredibly reasonable too. Reserve in advance so you can experience this gem.
I gave 5 for overall experience. I’ll give 4 or 4.5 for food. It was huge, classic and about average. I personally recommend the pancakes. It was fluffy with a crispy texture at the edge. The biscuit sandwich was ok. I will suggest to serve the tomato jam in warm. And hash browns was a little bit dull. However, the price was reasonable. You can feed yourself within $30, a dish with a drink or alcohol.
Clinton street baking is know for there Delicious pancakes and they did not disappoint. I got the wild Maine blueberry pancakes and baconeggcheese on a Biscuit with a tomato sauce. The blueberry pancakes were amazing, i personally like my pancakes plain with just maple syrup but this time I decided to be alittle daring. The baconeggcheese was also good, it was a messy sandwich. Also both dishes by themselves are very filling, so I would suggest just picking one or the other. Serves were very friendly and attentive. I will say i was sitting at the bar so that could be why. But all in all I give Clinton Street baking 5/5. The only thing i wish they had was a option to reserve tables for solo diners, because the wait time there is long. For me it was 45 minutes but I did go around lunch time.
The food was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I had the veggie burger with sweet potato fries and a side of sauteed kale. Everything was hot, fresh and flavorable. And the veggie burger bun was fresh from the bakery next door. Its an outstanding choice. I cant wait to go back!
We found this gem on Yelp and we are so glad we did. My son and I got there at 8:45 so we stood outside in line until they opened. By 9am the line was down the block which made us even more excited to go in and try it out. We ordered the blueberry pancakes, sugar cured bacon, scrambled eggs, hot chocolate and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh. The staff was super friendly and the place was clean and cute. Covid protocols were in place and we felt very safe. We look forward to visiting again soon!
Meals changed into amazing! We made a reservation for five and shared 4 dishes. The element sizes are really large. We got regular pancakes, blueberry pancakes, salmon omelette and Spanish omelette. My favorites have been the Spanish omelette and blueberry pancakes.Parking took a bit to discover, so come early to find a spot! The vibe and service have been exact. Id truly propose this place to others. Its far a touch luxurious but now not overpriced.
I had read this place was the best ever and tried getting a reservation in previous trips with no luck. This time we got a reservation on a Monday morning and the place was packed! Good sign. Food was nice, but I wasn’t impressed. I had seen the pancakes from pancake month and they looked amazing, we ordered chocolate chip and maple butter. They were ok, the maple butter lacked flavour tbh. The eggs benedict were nice, the biscuit was really good, but they had little sauce so it ended being a bit dry. We saw the waffles and french toast and those looked amazing, I would visit again and try more stuff. Service was nice even though it was really busy.
I love EVERYTHING about this place. From the food to the ambience. I had the kale salad with grilled chicken strips, and it was absolutely wonderful, organic and filling. The prices are unbelievably good I’m definitely coming back here again and again. Their goat cheese scone with house made raspberry jam is also a must have. To the owners if this restaurant/bakery, thank you so much for caring deeply about the food. It was evident in every single bite.
Let me tell you that you need to be vaccinated to be able to dine in. Bring an ID with you because they check that too. And hope that you are not told that you have to wait for 2hrs for a table.(To kill time, we ate at the Thai resto next door which surprisingly has the best Pad Thai weve ever had in the city. The crab fried rice was amazing too!Id say the blueberry pancakes were a 4 out of 5 because only the bottom layer had a generous amount of blueberries in it, while the top 2 both just had a few. The blueberry sauce was also not enough for my liking. The pancake crisp was amazing but because there were 3 layers, it was rather too dough-ey overall. Serving 2 layers, with that amount of sauce and lowering the price would have made it a 5/5.The peach raspberry waffle was a different story. I couldnt find anything wrong with it. The portions of everything on top were a perfect ratio to the waffle size. Taste, texture, flavor were all awesome! (Special menu item)
Been wanting to try this place forever, and finally got my chance, after running an errand in the area. Even on a weekday, its packed, I dont think its never not packed. Do yourself a favor and make a resy ahead of time, or else youll wait an hour + for a table.Came solo this time and wanted to try a few different things, but decided to go with the blueberry pancakes first, as that was on the top of my list, and it did not disappoint! Crispy edges, fluffy and blueberry topping was not overly sweet with a hint of tartness, and only had to sparingly use the warm maple butter, as that was enough for me. I never finished a stack of pancakes before, as it is usually shared with the table, but since this was the main dish, I devoured it completely and it def hit the spot. Will come back to try other items on the menu!
So wanted to try out this place due to all of the good reviews and we found out there was over an hour wait for dine in. We then decided to order to go.We ordered the Pancakes with chocolate chunks, eggs, and pork sausage and I must say everything was pretty good but the sausage was amazing. Literally some of the best Ive ever had.
So I was overcharged for tipping I thought I would get change back but nothing. The chicken was cold the waffle tasted like it was microwaved. This place is too overrated and still you needed to wait. So old fashioned it didn’t let you use Apple Pay. 100 years behind this place and it’s tiny. I walked so far for an hour for this place only to realise it was rubbish.
Waited 1.5 hrs, ordered walnut banana pancake and few other types of pancakes n omelet. Food was ok. I would say I have had better pancake in NYC. This ones were dry for me. Syrup they give is really tiny. You could ordered more syrup for 2.50$ and it’s still the tiny one. Pancakes to syrup ratio I would rate one.
This place was decent. I wasn’t impressed by the food. Service is good. The wait was around 1h 30 mins. The pancakes are average at best. Might I also add, the pancakes are pretty dry and they charge an extra $2.50 for a tiny cup of their “warm maple butter”. The southern breakfast was good but the fried green tomatoes were lacking. I’m from the south, and these had no seasoning at all.
I am starting to like this place more and more since Intelligentsia doesnt cut it for me anymore. I like to go here very early to do some work and enjoy a nice cappuccino. It could get crowded later on the day so you cant really get any work done. The space is huge and offers free wifi and outlets. They keep this place clean and tidy. Great music, sometimes. All in all great place to work or catch up. Will be a regular for sure.
I was here on a friends recommendation. We had a reservation but it was still a bit of a wait because the place is small and we had to wait for the previous diners to finish up so they could put our table together and they were taking their time paying the bill. Theres only one bathroom so it took me the whole time we were there to wait for it to free up too because of how busy it was and how small the place is.Our waitress was friendly and sweet though and the food was delicious and brought out hot and fresh. Everything is Instagrammable and they were very nice about us as we obnoxiously took pics of everything lol.
Breakfast done right. I went with their blueberry pancakes and they were as good as expected. Crispy on the outside yet soft inside. Perfect combination. They top them of with fresh blueberries and some type of house maple syrup that makes them unique. The pancakes taste very buttery and can feel a bit heavy. Overall, great brunch spot!
Visited this morning as the end to our 16th wedding anniversary adventure and werent disappointed at *all*. Our waitress was exceptionally kind and attentive and the food was absolutely perfect. Im pretty picky about hash browns (though, Ill still eat them regardless -- enough ketchup can cover-up the worst crimes against potatoes 👀), and these were crispy AND fluffy. The Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich I ordered was highly tasty (tomato jam was better than I anticipated). The goat cheese scone is a must. Youre welcome. Im not sure about the Latke Eggs Benedict that my husband ordered since Im not a fan of fish, lol, but he seemed to be in heaven so Ill take that as a good sign 😂.With so many options in the area, Im not sure if well have another opportunity to visit, but I may need to make sure we do before we move next year because? Delicious! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Excellent pancakes, experience & respect not so much. Upon arrival we asked that noOne approach our table without a masks( we have young children at home which are unable to get vaccinated) safety is first, that was completely disregarded & the gentleman in the photo then approached us and explained he’s vaccinated and didn’t need to wear a masks. Unacceptable vaccinated or not if a customer has a preference it should be acknowledged.
Great menu and good service! My wife and I arrived at 9 when they opened and there was a line formed already. We got seated and served quickly, and by the time we finished we heard that the wait had become an hour long. There is only one restroom and its for customers. Expect to wait ten minutes for it.
Food was delicious but I didn’t understand the “we have your table ready and we aren’t going to give it away but you can’t sit down until your whole party is here” -We planned to order our food plus our third person since they were stuck on the train. The amount of time we waited to sit down we could of had our food, ate, by the time our friend arrived and been done way sooner. It’s a silly concept 🤷🏼♀️.I don’t get it.
Amazing blueberry pancakes, definitely the best ones I’ve ever had. They also had an amazing Spanish omelet. I thought the French toast was ok but it didn’t have much flavor. Also if you want to use the bathroom be prepared to wait a while since there is only one. Overall I really liked the place and the 2 hour wait was definitely worth trying it for the first time (we waited at a book store/cafe near by called book club which I enjoyed so that might’ve been why I was fine with the wait).
Amazing food with great cocktails. We had the Latke Eggs Benedict, Fried Chicken & Waffles, and Bellinis with seasonal fruit. My eggs benedict dish was well-made, with a generous topping of hollandaise sauce, equally generous serving of smoked salmon and less generous serving of roe. The cafe opted for a fried potato base rather than the usual bread-based ones, which was not to my liking as I prefer meals that are less oily for brunch. Nevertheless, the potato base was nicely done. All of these for a rather reasonable price, too.Would definitely be back again!
We got to finally try Clinton St. Bakery on a Saturday. We put our names down for a 2.5 hour wait but were lucky to get seated in 25 mins as a table freed up. We ordered blueberry pancakes along with milkshakes. The boozy chocolate milkshake was delicious as well. Excellent brunch and the maple syrup butter was the best match for the pancakes.
I suggest you make a reservation because this place can get busy. COVID-19 guidelines are followed here so temperature checks, social distancing and barriers between tables. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The brioche French toast was delicious, crispy outside but nice and soft inside. The pancakes were buttery with those crispy edges and the blueberries amazing. The maple butter was probably my favorite part of the meal.
We love here!Their pancakes were soft, fluffy ,a little crispy and melt in my mouth.Amazing.Egg benedict was also great.I like its sauce.Fortunately they take a daytime reservation now.(maybe they didnt before. We had to wait in long long line)And they accept credit card.Waiters were speedy.
Everything on the menu sounds amazing. I had pancakes with bananas and walnuts and they were amazing — soft, fluffy, moist. They are served with syrup (seemed to be a caramel sort of sauce) on the side, but it’s not really enough. If it weren’t tasty I wouldn’t be complaining about the amount. My friend had the chicken and waffle and loved every bite. Our server was friendly. I will definitely eat here again. Hopefully soon.
Clinton Street Baking Company has absolutely THE best pancakes anywhere! Well-browned and crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside is the taste combo that makes them outstanding. They have 10 different special flavors (different one every couple of weekdays) during Pancake Month in February. (Sorry, youll have to wait till next Feb now!) But they also have three standards everyday: blueberry, chocolate chunk, and banana walnut--all served with a warm maple butter mixture. YUM! Plenty of other delicious breakfast and lunch choices, too. Great service from a very friendly staff a real plus here.
Great spot for some breakfast. Went at 9am on Monday and there was no wait. Note that they’re limiting dine in time to one hour because of COVID. I ended up getting just the blueberry pancakes. It comes with 3 pancakes with some maple butter on the side and the blueberries plastered on the top of the stack. The pancake texture was probably the best I’ve ever had. The cakes were fluffy and melted in the mouth. The flavor was pretty good especially with the maple butter but was it the best I’ve ever had? Probably not. Still up there tho but was expecting this be legendary in terms of flavor. Still a solid experience.
People leave reviews for 2 reasons…outstanding service or exceptionally poor service. This review is for the latter!!! Made reservations 30 days in advance. First ones in line and first ones seated. Order taken at 912am. Coffee service was good. By 10 am and watching other people have their food and leave we began to say F this. Magically the food arrives at 1014am. 2 omelettes ice cold and pancakes. Un toasted bread. No one came to check on us. Clearly they either forgot the order and there was a breakdown in process. Apology?? Not here. 71 dollars for some undercooked food and Awful service. My wife and I were sincerely regretful that we ever decided to come here. There was an elderly man digging in the trash across the road. I’m going to guess it was far better than what we were served. I’m guessing by the other reviews here this is an anomaly !!! Clearly some management training and process improvement could repair issues like this!!! A simple apology goes a long way!!!!
Mmmm it’s ok. Waited for 2 hours to dine in. Mistake... the food is good, don’t get me wrong—it’s delicious. But not worth a 2 hour wait, I should have ordered take out. The maple syrup is bomb, pancakes are good. Latka pancakes are delicious. Mimosa...check!! Chicken and waffles mediocre. Definitely worth a visit but if there is a long wait—I recommend ordering take out.
Ordered pancakes to go. Was told 20 minute wait. 30 minutes later they lost my ticket while I waited outside. Was offered some free baked good to make up for it and asked them to pack it with my pancakes to go. They didnt pack any free baked goods. Finally left with my pancakes after 45 minutes of standing outside
Saw a YouTube video about this place and decided to try. After finding parking we waited 25 minutes to be seated. Waitress was very pleasant and efficient. Drinks came fast. Fresh squeezed oj taste just like a sweet navel orange. Coffee was good. We ordered blueberry pancakes, chicken apple sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese, and cheddar grits. The pancakes were the best Ive ever had; perfectly golden and the blueberry and maple butter was on another level . The chicken sausage was very tasty and complimented the pancakes. The grits were shocking I never expected them to taste so good no need for salt or pepper and the scallionsbring out flavor. The eggs were the only thing we could do without bland and $8.00 each was a no no. The eggs and time it took to bring out the food is why we dont give it a 5. We will definitely go back.
Blueberry Pancakes were amazing!!! I didnt make a reservation and the wait was 45 min and the bar was fullso I ordered to go next door at the window and ate across the street on the benches since it was morning and the business didnt open till 5p. Food was delicious!
I went in late with a friend for some cheesecake and tea, and it was so lovely that the owner just gave it to us on the house! She said she likes to give away food for free towards the end of the day, and she only hopes we do the same for someone else when we have the opportunity. Her kindness really touched us!
The pancakes are to die for. This place is iconic for them. I recommend the classic chocolate chip. They taste incredible. The service was extremely fast, the coffee they sell is amazing in taste and is cheap for the size (~$4). I wish we could indoor dine but for now this will definitely do. They mix maple syrup and butter and it tastes spectacular, something I have never seen before.
My best friend and I came here for Sunday breakfast and it was pretty good! The chicken in the chicken and waffles was a little bland and soggy but not terrible. My friend said her pancakes were delicious though. Our waitress was extremely friendly and they were so attentive with the coffee refills! Excellent service but they do have a one hour sit down policy because of COVID but an hour is plenty of time!
One of the most frustrating places to get breakfast. As I got my reservation done in person, I was asked to wait 45 min for a table. As well there is no waiting area inside , so on a cold day your stuck outside. This place doesnt even care if your spouse is pregnant or not. Then as soon the time was up, then they decided to ask for vaccination cards. If you dont have both vaccines the will not allow you to eat there. It doesnt matter if you cant get the second vaccine because your in 2 week wait time. So after 45 min your cold and hungry, as well very angry that they cant do there job correctly. I would not recommend this place.
I’m UkrainianWas raised on farm but moved here 10 years agoI ordered waffle with peach 🍑 and JamI’m telling you I was transformed to my childhood farm with all fresh fruits and my grandma wafflesI almost cried it’s absolutely something I will always go back to and recommend to try for yourself 10/10 honestly best of the best in NYCDumbo location with beautiful view
I visited Clinton Street years ago when it was a tiny store front. I would get biscuits to go for breakfast then return for dinner before heading home to Buffalo NY. On my second trip recently to NYC since the ease of the pandemic I returned to a much larger restaurant but same fantastic biscuits and raspberry jam. Thank you!
It was my first time here for a Sunday brunch, and the place was so full that we opted for the counter seating. We managed to order the blueberry pancakes which are so damn fluffy! I can’t get enough of it. The blueberry sauce has some light sweetness which makes you wanna dig for more. The price is worth it!Wanna go back here for sure to try the savory!
Come here for the pancakes! My friend whos a local recommended this spot and it did not disappoint. We made reservations right at opening time on a weekday morning right at 9am and there was already a line forming by 8:45am!My brother and I split the Latke Eggs Benedict and the seasonal Blueberry Yuzu Pancakes. The crispiness of the Latke Eggs Benedict were cooked to a perfect crisp, and I really enjoyed the trout roe caviar. The pancakes portion was huge and the berry/citrus flavor mix was excellent. For drinks, we had a Mexican latte and a Passion fruit bellini. Whats better than starting your day with a bit of booze and caffeine?Service was quick. Would return!
We showed up a little past 9AM to a line out the door. Once inside, we were told the next table (for 2) would be available in an hour and a half. We gave our name and phone number and would get a text as soon as they had a table available. No fifteen minutes before so be sure you are in the area at that time.We went to our hotel to drop off our bags, walked around the city a bit, came back at around an hour later, thought maybe we could wait the last half hour in the restaurant since the weather was pretty lousy. We were able to be seated right away. I am guessing they may have sent a text to a party who reserved right before us who may have not come back in time?It was great. He got the blueberry pancakes and I got the latke eggs benedict. Wanted to lick the plate clean.
What can I say about this place? I absolutely love it! One of my favorite brunch spots in the city. It’s a must go! Everything here is delicious!PLEASE NOTE: There are long wait times during the weekend, so arrive early, or plan ahead to wait... but believe me it is so worth the wait! Everyone I’ve taken here has fallen in love with this place, as I do every time I return.Never disappoints, their service is speedy and fast. Blueberry Pancakes are a must, and my personal fave Eggs Benedict.
They know me here! hahah i have loved this place for over a decade! amazing mac and cheese - great baked goods. the banana choc chip muffin is so moist and flavorful! pretty much everything these guys make is amazing! hot fudge sundae - outstanding! and my go to clinton st omelette! best home fries and the biscuits are really tasty!
We loved this place so much we went twice on our trip and I will definitely come back here if I’m ever back in New York.Wait time:The first day (Friday) was about 45 minute wait at 10AM compared to no wait on the second day (Monday) at 12PM.Food:The blueberry pancakes was my favorite dish and already *know* I’m going to miss this considering I live in Toronto. The batter is amazing and is paired well with the maple butter that comes on the side. The blueberry topping however, got a bit overwhelming for me at the end. The second day we came here, I tried the chocolate pancakes, delicious but really decadent so I couldn’t finish it—but Chocolate lovers, this is for you. These pancakes can be shared by two people as it comes in a stack of three.I also shared the chicken waffles with a friend. If you’re feeling savory with a little bit of sweet, this is for you! The batter for the waffle is amazing and the chicken is crispy.Honorable mentions- my friend ordered the Chicken Apple Sausage and we all loved it.DrinksWe ordered the Con Leche— IT’S HUGE. But delicious.ServiceStaff is very friendly and easily attended to our needs. Mind you this restaurant is Cash Only!
Went for breakfast on a tuesday, the four of us were lucky to get the last table! The line wasn’t long that morning, so no long waiting times to be seated. Food was really good, great fluffy pancakes, lovely French toast and savoury egg plates. It is pretty expensive for what you get to be honest, but hey it’s NYC and this place has good ratings and reviews, it’s to be expected. Come prepared, this is a cash only place 💸
Its a nice place located in the time out market...nice pancakes but I feel its over rated because of these vloggers..I v had awesome pancakes in normal family run diners...its defn nice ..pancakes are. Good.Coffee was good ..but is it worth waiting 45 minutes..Id say no..
Not bad. Not great. My group and I stopped off for brunch, and while generally we left satisfied; there were some aspects that couldn’t let me award those fourth and fifth stars. The pancakes, while fluffy and not too dense, needed to be sweeter, and left a lingering taste of baking powder. As a Brit, I have little clue as to what Biscuits are used for, not how to properly enjoy them. However those served here had almost no flavour at all.Eggs on the other hand; scrambled, fried, poached...were all well done and served nice and hot.The meats on offer that accompanied many breakfast options were OK, to, although the hash browns lacked a needed saltiness. The milkshakes are quite amazing, although they can often feature too much whipped cream and not enough flavouring. Some drinks overpriced, such as the OJ, but the coffee and tea is offered as unlimited refills. The service was a bit too slow for somewhere that is consistently as busy as it seems, but the staff were friendly and welcoming. The establishment seems to be sadly unwilling to do custom orders or substitutions, so it’s the menu options or nothing. The restaurant is cash only (a bit of a jaw-dropping moment of disbelief, in this day!) and automatic gratuity of about 18% is added to the bill, regardless of your service quality.
This place might be small on the inside but the food seriously packs some great flavor. I got the Huevos Rancheros which were by far the best Ive ever had. They were savory with a kick of mild spice. My boyfriend got the Chocolate Pancakes with butter syrup and he also stated that they were super light and fluffy. The rest of my family got other dishes and they were all amazing. In all honesty, I dont think theres a disappointing dish at this restaurant. I definitely will be coming back here in the future!
We waited for 1 hour to be seated.Yelp app was easy to navigate.Staff were very friendly and attentive. I did not have to ask to refill water once. They are well trained and know what we expect. We ordered waffle chicken and pancake. Both were amazing. I would love to come back here for sure.
I sent my husband to this restaurant for the first time because I had the taste for pancakes and French toast. He also ordered a halapeño cornbread brookie( brownie cookie), a slice of cherry crumb pie. The blueberry pancakes gets 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿. French toast gets 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿. My only problem is 🥚 are being used and should be replaced with coconut 🥥 oil or avocado oil or grapeseed oil or a chickpea mixture. 🥚 is very unhealthy and has no nutritional value for our body.
I have been wanting the blueberry pancakes for a while and they did not disappoint. So light and satisfying. My husband had the Southern break. Mmm,mmm. I could not stop stealing his cheese grits. We made the trip here from Maryland for our daughters 16th birthday and this was a part of the plan. So.glad we went here. We will be back to try more!
Best pancakes ever! Omg! Fluffiest and the most delicious pancakes I ate!! Soo good that you want a second plate!Location: it is located in Clinton St afcourse, the interior is okay, just a typical american restaurant, looks like a diner inspired. Always a huge line because everything is good here. So come in early!Service: the server was nice! It was busy so she tries to give her best! Give us good recommendations!Food: Only one food I usually eat here and its PANCAKES! Either the pecan or the blueberry is amazing! Omg the pancakes are so fluffy! And the warm maple butter just compliments the pancake! Huge servings too! Definitely a must!!Price rating: 7 out of 10. It is okay, it is good anyways!Definitely will come back for more pancakes! Best pancake I ever ate!! I want to come back soon! :)
Every time I am in NYC, I come to Clinton St. Baking Company. The breakfast here is amazing. The brunch is great too. The place is always packed so make sure to come early or youll have to get on the waiting list - and you might end up having to wait for hours before getting seated. The only negative thing about this place: the service. Staff is extremely rude and aggressive. Management should teach them a thing or two about customer service - especially when customers are nothing but respectful and nice. If it wasnt for the food, I wouldnt come back this often.
My husband and I went here for brunch on a Monday. I had been wanting to try it given all the great reviews. We enjoyed it but I’m not sure if we’d go back because it took forever. We waited 30 minutes for a table which was fine. Ordering and getting our food took what felt like forever. It was busy but it seems extreme. We had the Huevos Rancheros with chorizo. This was good. I could live without the tortilla as it just turned to mush. Creama sauce is tasty. The omelette was alright, just your basic omelette. However, it was large. The pancakes are good. The maple butter is delicious. Probably the best part of the experience.Service was decent. Pleasant servers and someone coming around to refill water glasses. Venue is small and gets loud given the crowd.
I love this restaurant. But the trick is going there for dinner - you can pay with credit card and make reservations on Resy. Who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner?! Also the play is going with another person, ordering a savory dish to share as the main, then getting the amazing pancakes for “dessert”. While they are known for the pancakes - which are really amazing and I’m not even a pancake person - their other dishes are also good. In our rotation: omelette, burger, and now this fried chicken sandwich. We’ve been doing this for years whenever we get a hunkering for pancakes. Same day resi is usually available. All three pancakes are great but obviously the chocolate one I find to be the sweetest.
Delicious, great chicken, sandwiches, burgers, milk shakes, pancakes, desert, pie, pizza, all the menu is great and worth it. Just went on a Monday night and no problem with a table and 3 hours of eating at the menu. Beer is very good too. Highly recommended and well worth a visit anytime. Not to be missed :)
Be aware! Cash only!We went on Sunday at 3 pm but had to wait almost an hour. We’ve installed special app(very fast and convenient) and waited to be seated while we had drinks across the street in coffee shop. After we’ve been seated waitress came up to serve drinks very fast, was very attentive even they were busy. Pancakes worth to wait for 20-25 minutes, portion is huge, syrup is not to sweet, pancakes are not dense and overall great experience.
Simply the best pancakes that we have ever had. They were extremely soft and had the perfect amount of sweetness. The portions are magnanimous. Will thoroughly recommend this place to everyone who visits New York. Note that they have pretty long waiting times. So try to hop in early for the breakfast. Also they have an outlet in the Time out Market on the first level which is relatively less crowded. That outlet is not shown on Google Maps.
This place is really busy, and I am not sure why. Had the salmon eggs Benny. It was OK. Pretty standard stuff. Had the blueberry pancakes. The pancakes themselves are regular and nothing special. The butter sauce that goes on top is very good. The service was good and the atmosphere is nice. I dunno...trying to figure out what the hype is about.
The pancakes are well worth the hype. The reviews don’t even do them justice. They are SO good! The warm maple butter is also amaaazing. We also got the Country Breakfast. The eggs and biscuit were good, but the potatoes were actually terrible. Definitely don’t recommend the potatoes. Highly, highly recommend the pancakes though!!
If you are looking for a brunch this is the perfect spot. Would recommend reservations if you are going in as a group of 5 or more because this place gets pretty pumped even before noon. It is a comfortable and casual place all year round. Furthermore, food proportion along with prices are fairly reasonable.
Hate to say it, but overrated!!Pancakes were fine. French toast was fine. Service was fine. Eggs were fine. The coffee was actually pretty bad.....It was all okay, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.I had tried so mannny times to eat here and finally got a table, and was pretty unimpressed. Not bad, but not great. Just meh.
Took my daughter out to brunch here. They do not make reservations and are cash only. The wait for 2 people on a Sunday was an hour. Once seated the staff was great and responsive to us. Food came out at a good time from ordering it. We had eggs Benedict and they were perfectly poached. They were runny and severed over corn bread. The sauce was light and flavorful. The waffles as well were made right with great flavor. The maple syrup they use complemented them well and the fruits were super fresh. The environment is clean and the tables are close together so it is tight with your neighbors. It is a great place to go for brunch and I highly recommend the waffles.
In 2017, tried the no wait app for the first time and it worked great, when we were in the taxi and within 1 mile, the no wait app allowed us to get in line, we had to check in when we arrived, and we were seated 15 to 20 minutes, enjoyed the French toast, sugar (cured) bacon, scrambled eggs, 2 eggs sunny side up, hash browns, pancakes (chocolate chunk), maple butter and the freshly squeezed orange juice. Did not like the fried green tomatoes and the sausage (pork) patties. In 2016, I said, wow it worked out better for us this year. Immediately upon arrival in New York City, we caught a cab to this restaurant, went in the door (new/additional dining area opened in January 2016), told the hostess our name and group size, gave our phone number, she said it may be a 45 minute wait, but 15 minutes later, we received a text message saying that our table is ready. They told us to go to the bakery (older/original dining area), and they will seat us there. Hostess seated us in the bakery some minutes later at the same table we had last year (near the window), love that! We ordered French toast, sugar cured bacon, egg Benedict, orange juice and lemonade. As always, food and service were excellent! In 2015, I said, It is worth the wait!!! My wife and I had French Toast that comes with warm maple butter; it was the best tasting French toast we ever had! The sugar cured bacon was really good, too! We also loved the freshly squeezed orange juice (that had NO PULP)! We walked in, asked to be seated, they told us that we had to wait for 1 hour and 35 minutes, but we waited, enjoyed the meal, the hostess, waitress, and bus help as well. All of that is why it was well worth the wait!
Ive been waiting to try this place for their pancakes and brunch. Besides the long wait, it was pretty good. i dont think im going to go out of my way to get a reservation. It is organized and the line does die down. They have a texting system so you can go wander around for a bit. Anyways we got the Pancakes with Warm Maple Buttermixed selection of Wild maine blueberry, banana walnut, or chocolate chunk. A side of turkey sausage too. Along with the Sugar Cured Bacon with Pecan French Toast. We were quite full. I wanted to try some of the egg benedict as well but save it for next time.
Yes, it is true that you will wait 90-120 minutes for a table on the weekends and holidays for brunch. Yes, they do not take reservations and you have to come in in person to put yourself on the waitlist. Yes, it was worth the wait.Once you put yourself on the waitlist, you can actually track your place in line via the Yelp app using the waitlist feature, so feel free to explore the area and come back when its getting down to the wire.Upon being seated, I ordered an OJ which was freshly squeezed. From the four of us, we ordered a variety of things: New England Clam Chowder, Blueberry Pancakes, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, and Chicken and Waffles. The clam chowder was very fresh as you can tell from the first scoop. I was able to get a bite of the Blueberry Pancakes and they were phenomenal, especially when you dunk them in the honey maple syrup that it comes with on the side. the texture of the pancake, the taste of the blueberry, and then the sweet maple taste of the syrup makes it quite the experience. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles which was also very good as well, especially when you pour the honey maple syrup over the entire dish. The Chocolate Chip Pancakes looked good, but as the chocolate chip melted from the heat of the pancakes, it looked like a little too much chocolate for me to handle.Would I come back again? I certainly would when it is planned out well. Meaning, you come here two hours earlier from your desired time you want to brunch to get on the waitlist. Its also good to know that this place is a cash only establishment so come with a bunch of 20s.
I’ve been coming here every time I am in NYC, and it is hands down the best place to get pancakes in the entire city. It’s always packed though so be ready to wait. The staff will take your name and number down and will text you as soon as a table is avaliable. Luckily on my recent visit, I managed to get a seat right away at the bar! The guy who served me was so sweet and kind, we had a lovely chit chat. I haven’t really tried the other breakfast items but they look so good! Their apple cider is so delicious. Please guys, don’t go to IHOP for pancakes, go to Clinton St. Baking Company. It’s worth the wait.
They are cash only. An hour wait for a table for 2 on a Saturday brunch. You leave your number and they text you when they have your table ready. You have ten minutes to check in.Service was okay. The chocolate chunk pancakes were 3 pancakes with chocolate chunks over them, not inside the pancakes like chocolate chip pancakes. The pancakes were good. The chocolate was great. The syrup was good. Also tried the chicken and waffles. The fried chicken was hard. Seemed to just have been 2 fried chicken breast with a glaze, glaze seemed to be the same syrup they serve with it. A single waffle came with it, it was an okay waffle. Kind of soggy, not crisp. The “fresh fruit” was not good. A strawberry, raspberries, pineapple, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, blueberries. There was a moldy blueberry which I showed our waitress. They offered to replace it but I didn’t want it anymore. They did remove it from the bill which was expected. The bakery section where we were seated close at 3:30/3:45.Overall okay food, but not stellar in any way and would not recommend.
WHAT AN AMAZING BREAKFAST/BRUNCH PLACE!! I couldnt believe how amazing literally all the food was. I got the country breakfast and everything, like literally everything was delicious and super fresh! To top it off, the pancakes, were OMG *EYES ROLLONG TO THE BACK OF MY HEAD* GOOD! Ordered the blue berry Maine pack cakes with chocolate as well and they were super fluffy and yummy. Go here, like honestly just trust the hard to believe perfect reviews!
The wife and I always have a nice experience here. Food is delicious and service is good. The wait time can be long, but Im not surprised based on how popular these guys are. Im not putting 5 stars because theyre cash only, which is a little annoying... really. Coffee is good as well.

2022-06-14They say you haven’t done brunch in NYC if you didn’t hit this spot. Well they’re kinda right, it’s the quintessential place for brunch! For me, they have the BEST blueberry pancakes there is! It’s so perfect paired with their famous maple butter. 2nd runner up is their Spanish scramble which is really delicious! It’s got cheese and sausage so good! It’s kinda hard to get a reservation so book ahead. Also reserve some room for the amazing pastries and desserts! I love the milkshake and the blueberry cheesecake was perfection as well! Great service and servers are always pleasant!

2022-06-10Some of the best pancakes you will ever eat. Get the blueberry but share them if you can as it’s a large portion. I usually go with the chorizo scramble with hash browns, which are both cooked to perfection. Everything I’ve tried has been amazing.Visiting words of wisdom - if you plan to go on the weekends, go early or be prepared to wait 2-3 hours for a table. You can only make reservations during the week, which I highly recommend you do. Otherwise you will still have at least a 30-45 min wait during brunch.

2022-03-01Made a reservation for 8pm (yay breakfast for dinner) so there wasn’t much of a wait time. Had the blueberry pancakes and chicken & waffles. Pancakes were great (definitely a must try) and the chicken was pretty tasty (wasn’t a huge fan of the waffles). I like that the chicken was a fillet/breast because it’s practical and more enjoyable to eat. Oh and the Mabel butter sauce is where it’s at!Overall had a pleasant experience with good customer service.

2022-05-25If you can cope with the struggle to get a reservation, the lines, the hype and insanity, you can actually get a very good breakfast here! For Manhattan, prices are reasonable. Portions are big. Pancakes are tasty, although I wanted the blueberries mixed in (not piled on top in goop). Biscuits are good, everyone seemed happy with their meals. Staff works hard to keep things moving.

2022-05-28Unless you’re getting here right when they open or have reservations, expect to wait. From my experience, the host hasn’t particularly been the friendliest or best at optimizing seating arrangements so it definitely has an affect on how long it’ll take to be seated. Will it be worth it? Well, I’ve been coming here for years and haven’t been deterred by the waiting game. The pancakes are by far the fluffiest and best I’ve ever had. Other breakfast items are nothing out of the ordinary and overpriced, but I would recommend the grilled chicken sandwich if you want a non-breakfast item. If you’re in Dumbo, Brooklyn, I’d opt for the Time Out Market location instead. The pancakes here are of the same quality and they offer their breakfast menu all day.

2022-03-04Bold statement coming...Best bacon Ive had! There, I said it. Try the blueberry pancakes too. They use wild blueberries and they are much more flavorful than traditional blueberry pancakes, plus there is a bit of crisp on one side, which compliments the pancakes perfectly. There are only 3 locations on Earth and this is the only one in the U.S., so if you are around, try this place out. Walk the food court afterwards. Tons of great looking restaurants!

2022-02-28Came here for the hype, so I had to order pancakes just because it’s what this place is known for. The special was blueberry pancake, which was pretty good, but nothing extraordinary. However, my boyfriend ordered the omelet that turned out to be very good, very fluffy and flavorful omelette. It serves drinks, which is a plus. My boyfriend ordered blood orange screwdriver and I ordered mimosa, they were both good and reasonably priced.I’d come back to try other food when I can get a reservation. The waitlist is long, definitely make reservation ahead of time.

2022-01-28Best smoked salmon I’ve ever had. Everything seasoned perfectly. Pancakes fluffy and good taste. Would no doubt come back again. Get a reservation unless you plan to wait a while. Well worth the wait if you don’t have a res.

2022-06-23The grilled chicken sandwich and chicken and waffles are delicious!! If you want to eat breakfast there on a weekend, make sure you make reservations a few days in advance because they’re all booked and the walk-in wait time can be three hours! Not as crowded for dinner. You can still order breakfast for dinner though.
