This was my freinds and I first time doing an escape room, so we were excited to be at clue chase. The staff was very friendly and we had a person, Monica, to help guide us in our moon shiners escape room. It was a very nice experience to reconnect with people through solving puzzles, and we were so close to escaping! My friends and I enjoyed it and I would definatley go back there when I could.
I had SO much fun here! My girlfriend and I didnt know what we were in for, but by the end we couldnt stop laughing and talking about it all dinner. A HUGE shout out to Mikayla, or game master. She made it 10x more fun with her clues and help along the way. I highly recommend it!
We use Clue Chase as a team building exercise for our Intern Program and it always scores high points. The Interns had to really work together to get out of the room, and in our case, we made it with 20 seconds to spare. It was difficult and lots of fun. The staff is extremely supportive.
Been here twice, both lots of fun. Nice to see a fun escape room this side of the pond. The first time we did Houdinis room and the 2nd time Moonlight. Both were fun but Moonlight definitely could have benefited from some fixing up and more immersive elements (didnt detract from the fun), it was however perfect for a group of 2. Had great hosts including Clue Lou both times. Will come back for Pirate x
Escaped the Houdini room on tuesday with some friends for a birthday! One of the best escape room experiences Ive had. Ross or as we called him Mr Englishman was really entertaining to have as a host and helped us have an amazinf time while playing into our stupidity. Will definetely be coming back soon.
Love the overall theme and set design of this group of escape rooms! There arent many companies that create an entire narrative around why youre going into each room, so that was unique and fun.The puzzles were thematic and fairly straightforward. Protip: dont overthink the clues. There were a couple of tech issues on reset, but the staff came in and fixed them quickly. Definitely one of the top escape rooms in New York that weve been too so far!Would encourage the company to find a way to make it easier to take advantage of returning player discount instead of making them book a room immediately e.g. a giftcard that doesnt expire
My friend and I are new to the city and were looking for a fun and exciting way to spend the afternoon. We were not disappointed. The commitment to the storyline made us really feel like we were escaping a speakeasy in the 1920s. The puzzles were challenging but not too difficult and clues were offered up at the perfect times. Ross was so nice and welcoming. We will absolutely be coming back and actually booked our next room before we even left the building.
We had a blast! I hosted my daughters 10th birthday here. Clue Chase was the perfect event for her and her group of friends. The venue was easy to find and the staff couldnt have been more welcoming. A big thank you to our host Jeremy, who set the scene for our Pirates escape room and helped them navigate the room with appropriate clues. It was a total success! The girls had a great time and couldnt stop talking about it at dinner afterwards. I highly recommend it for a birthday event or group gathering.
Rooms are amazing!! We went to go play Moonshine Madness and enjoyed it so much that we went back to do Houdinis! We’re actually going to the pirates room tomorrow! They had such unique puzzles. The Houdini themed one was probably one of my favorite escape rooms that I have done (and I’ve done a lot!). I would definitely recommend coming here!
I’ve come back 3 times and I loved every room we’ve done (pirates, Houdini, and guardian of Gotham)! We also managed to escape every time which helps. The staff are all very in character, engaged, and willing to help you if you’re stuck! The puzzles and rooms themselves are very interactive and I’ve finally found an escape room where it’s not just all numbers and combo locks! Big shout out to Casey and Mack for taking us through Guardians of Gotham my personal fave (but pirates was a close second!)
Another great visit to Clue Chase! All members of the staff (Victoria, Ross and Casey) were very kind and enthusiastic making sure we had the best time we could. Would recommend to anyone looking for a immersive and intricate escape room puzzle! Will definitely go back soon.
This escape room was great! We were a group of four people, and we escaped, but with little time to spare. None of the puzzles were too too difficult, yet the whole thing was sufficiently challenging. I would definitely highly recommend this to anyone considering doing an escape room.
Dont make the wrong choice and waste your money by doing a room with random strangers. Theres always a chance of being grouped up by the wrong people. The rooms seem fun but i caved and tried to make the employees lives easier by grouping with others but ended up with a miserable experience.
Great experience! Went with my two children (8 and 11). They may have been a little young but the hints and support were dispersed at a rate that let us struggle and simultaneously kept us in it. Russ was amazing with the kids. While we didn’t make it in the hour provided, he guided us for the last few steps that they walked away feeling like they won.
Great experience here participating in the Guardian of Gotham escape room. It was pretty challenging and for a party of 2, where the room allows up to 10 people, we did a good job getting as far as we did. It really made us think and I would highly recommend for anyone to come and try it out. the staff was amazing, fun and helpful and made us feel welcome and excited throughout. The one con is however the bathroom weren’t the best well kept, but if you don’t need the restroom during the time you are there then you will be fine.
So much fun! I did the Gotham room with three friends-- we had a blast and escaped with 48 seconds left. The puzzles were expertly crafted and each member of our group played an important role in solving the game. Everyone was wearing masks, and it was clear that safety was important to the staff. Clue chase is definitely an exciting and safe way to spend a Saturday night!! Cant wait to try more rooms.
Mothership Over Manhattan was a fun virtual escape room. I guess were not too good at these because this took us a little over 3 hours! This was all word puzzles and not much interactivity but still a lot of fun. I definitely think having the minds of 2-3 other people helps to work through these tough puzzles.
I love this place. We had completed all but one of their in-person escape rooms before lockdown and they were easily the best in the city. We have since done all of their virtual escape games since the pandemic began and theyve been a ton of fun. These folks design great games on all fronts and are always great at customer service.
Such a great company both making amazing live escape rooms and virtual. The live virtual escape rooms (done 2 so far) have been great ways to escape with friends during times of covid. Huge production values and definitely a lot of time making puzzles work. The puzzles are challenging and worth doing. Would 100% do them again.
This review is for the online Scarab game. The puzzles are reasonably good, but for $20, you could buy like 4 or 5 Glitch Games iPad apps, which are all longer and better and more fully developed worlds. This game is a text-based story and then solving picture-based clues. Although many of the scenes have a 360 degree rotation, there is no interactivity within the scenes. You just find the clues and enter a code word for each puzzle to move on.
We had so much fun playing The Scarabs Curse virtual escape room. The questions were challenging enough and provided a great opportunity for my team to problem solve and work together. Thank you Seth for introducing us to the game and being there in the shadows to help us through when needed. Highly recommend!
We did the Scarab which was very easy but entertaining. The creators of the show offered me a free try for the Manhattan Game. It was great, and certainly more difficult. Money well spent! Scarab took less than an hour, Manhattan we did in about 1.3 hours (did it over 2 days).
My friends and I have done over 75 escape room and clue chase is by far the best company we have worked with! There games are fun for all levels of players. The customer service is outstanding. and even during COVID-19 there online games are the best out there! Definitely check out Clue Chase for your next Escape Room!
So great! My escape room group (there were 7 of us) actually did two games back to back— everyone at Clue Chase was super accommodating and kept everything clean and sanitized. We all felt super safe!Plus, there rooms are all awesome and very clever. LOVED the Houdini room!
This is for the online game. It was not an online escape room unfortunately. It was a very simple puzzle game. Very little challenge at all and was easily completed with a team of 1. Played many other online games for the same price.Photo is a very minor spoiler. If you can’t find the number there, than I’m not sure what to say lol.
This was super challenging! and fun. It wouldnt have been quite as much fun without our host Savannah. She was great. She made it real, explained things well without giving things away for us, and encouraged us along the way. She was super fun, enthusiastic and energetic. The setting was really cool and each challenge was so different. I hope you get the chance to go, and i hope you escape!!!!
Had a really great time here with my friends, the puzzle was challenging and very satisfying to complete, the props and effects were also very high quality and fun. Masks on at all times and everything is sanitized, overall this was a really great experience and much better than some other escape rooms Ive done.
Great online escape room themed games that can be played solo or on a team . I did all three of the online games and they were fun although the Mothership over Manhattan game was a little too easy compared to the other two. I hope they make more online games like this.
I did the virtual escape room Scarabs Curse, and it was the best virtual escape room Ive done. Ive done many in person rooms, as well as multiple virtual, and this maintained the thrill that I crave from escape rooms. They did an incredible job with the technology aspect. There were 3D rooms, the difficulty level of the puzzles was perfect, and the air of competition was a driving factor. I will definitely be doing the next virtual escape room from Clue Chase. I look forward to it.
As a veteran of room escapes they tend to get repetitive and usually have the same theme BUT not this place! The rooms are creative and the puzzles do pose a challenge. Such an amazing time at this place highly recommend it.Best part they followed all recommended CDC practices to have a safe and fun experience
Delightful. We did most rooms in the previous location and came for the pirate-themed puzzle in the new location. Extremely well designed, with a neat story, impressive stage, and thoughtful, original puzzles. Ross was a great puzzle master. This is on par with the higher budget chains, which is amazing for a smaller independent business doing everything in house.
It was really fun! I was with my friend and I and we got a private room because nobody else had booked at the time we did. We did the alien escape room which was pretty challenging. The puzzles in the room were really fun to solve and were doable. The last challenge, which I wont specify, was really difficult but we managed to solve it and escape the room with 40 seconds left! Some of the technology in the room malfunctioned slightly at times, which was frustrating. However, the idea behind it was really cool and the puzzles were so much fun. I would recommend to anyone!
This was my first escape room experience but I was very impressed with the complexity of the puzzles, the variety of themes and the staggering number of challenges presented to us. I went with a group of fellow engineers, all highly intelligent people who love this kind of thing, and while we did escape the room in time, there were enough side puzzles and secondary objectives remaining to have kept us busy for at least a couple more hours. I went in with optimistic hopes and left with a smile and satisfying realization that Id had even more fun than Id expected to.
So much fun! My friend and I played Prohibition Pandemonium and had a blast. The set was great, and the puzzles were challenging but fair! And customer service was out of this world. We had mentioned wanting to play Manhattan Mayhem, but that game needs four players. Well, after we played our room, we struck up a conversation with two tourists from Australia who had just played the Alien Invasion room. And the manager offered to let all four of us play Manhattan Mayhem ABSOLUTELY FREE! Thats right! Manhattan Mayhem was great fun! Unlike any other escape room Ive done. It was certainly not without its challenges. Although we were four experienced players, there were quite a few times when we had to tap out and have someone else try a puzzle that had us stumped. But we did get out with ten minutes to spare! What a great experience. Both rooms were so much fun, and the customer service was unparalleled!
This place is really great. The staff are super welcoming and stay in character the whole time which makes the experience even better. I’ve done 2 of their escape rooms now and i haven’t been disappointed with either one. Many different type of clues to try and figure out so everyone can be involved and having a great time. Highly recommend
I had a fantastic time at this escape room. The puzzles were fun, and challenging enough to feel good when you beat them. We had 4 participants and there was more than enough for everyone to do in the room. Brandon was running our room and made our first escape room experience so great that we are already planning when we’ll be back.
I planned a staff event for our team here and it was such a success! There was bonding, there was laughter, there was a great sense of accomplishment when we got out of the room with 5:22 to spare... It was awesome. We did the Prohibition Pandemonium room, and it was very well done. The room was beautifully staged, the clues were hard (but not overly so), and the hints were helpful but still tricky. Everybody enjoyed it. I think well be coming back.
The staff was very lenient in allowing one extra person that I forgot to include in the count when I made the reservations. Another person was a bit late and they just allowed them into the room when he arrived, which is very nice of them. When they saw that we were struggling during the games, they gave us helpful hints but nothing too obvious. The games can be challenging for those that have never done an escape room but its a fun experience! We had a great time laughing at each other at the end when the staff told us the clues we missed!
Very fun and challenging room! I attended with 3 friends and had 2 others join us in the room that werent part of our party. We did the Egyptian Tomb room, and it was a very puzzle based room with lots of great props and very good decor. I will definitely be back to try another room. Very energetic staff as well!
The place was nice and people were accommodating but the escape room itself was very bad. By far the most boring escape room I’ve ever done. The room is too large to be able to solve any of the puzzles without help from the escape room leader and that made the game uninteresting. Because the room is large they say it is for 12 people but there is not enough to do so most people are just standing around. I would not recommend.
The Pirates of the Bermuda was a great escape room for anyone that loves a challenge. Savi (hope I spelled it correctly. She is so great) was a great hostess/guide. Her awesome energy made me feel as if I did travel back in time. The room is filled with thoughtfully placed clues that can at times leave you throwing your hands up in the air. Lol. I highly recommend everyone to book this room as I will be going back to participate in the other escape themes they have to offer.
My group did all 4 rooms in one day and they were all fantastic. Matt was our guide through the rooms and he was the perfect amount of helpful and encouraging to get us through them. We do a lot of escape rooms and I can say without a doubt that these were some of the most fun ones that we have done.
5 friends and I did the Alien Attack room. We got out with plenty of time to spare. As we were solving the last clue, one friend said seriously? this cant be it. I have done many around 25 escape rooms and this one was by far the easiest. The appearance of the room was very cool and some of the puzzles were very fun to do, but the game relied too heavily on technology (specifically translators and photo recognition apps) that took no problem solving skills to use. It also could have been more difficult with less people - we had four people less than the maximum, but we were still able to split up and cover more than one puzzle at once. This game would be more challenging with only 3-4 people. Overall just anticlimactic and not worth the money... unless you need a confidence boost!
Wow, what a great experience! We had a team building event and Escape Entertainment couldnt have been more accomodating. We had a group of 20 people split to compete in two Manhattan Mayhem rooms and it was a blast (and the food & drinks were great as well). Thank you for making it such a success, we will definitely be back!
Fun and entertaining. Good puzzles for an escape room. Although a couple locks were switched but we were still able to figure it out and didnt ruin the fun. Overall a good experience to bring a group of friends and have some fun trying to figure out what you are doing.
We did the Heist room with a group of 10 people. We were able to escape so that was good. However, there were a lot of moving parts which made it confusing and overwhelming at times. Despite this, it was a great experience and the host was very friendly. He was nice enough to walk us through what we missed. The place is also well kept and the materials look great! Would recommend especially for large groups. It’s also in a very prestigious building but I promise you are in the right place.
We played the heist room and it was amazing!! me and my girlfriend went by ourselves visit, and we ended up in the same slot as a big overseas group. Super cool, detailed design and the game puzzles were challenging but really fun to figure out. We didnt make it out of the room but we had so much fun and made some new friends lol!
I did Monkey Mayhem and Prohibition! I had so much fun, what a challenge. The games, clues and puzzles really made me think, but I worked together with the other people in the room. The space is very clean and each room was designed precisely and you can tell the designs were well thought out. I highly recommend for friends and family to come here, youll have a great time.
My family and I had a wonderful time playing “The Ultimate Heist” room. Not only was the room itself fantastic and full of fun puzzles, but our guide Savannah was absolutely spectacular. The experience of it all was immersive and fulfilling. If I could leave more than five stars I would.
As a veteran of multiple escape rooms around the country, I really enjoyed this one. The theme and execution were well-done and, more importantly, logical. If you work diligently you should be able to solve this room within the time allotted. We only received a few hints and missed solving the room by only a few seconds! My only suggestion would be to replace the wood block numbers with new ones.
It was my first time trying escape rooms, Im happy to say that the idea behind is pretty amazing, especially if you are into problem solving and analysis. We did Prohibition Pandemonium, which some people said was the hardest and I have to say it was a blast. Great place to spend the evening with great friends.
Some of the clues in the room were a bit different than many of the rooms weve done so I enjoyed having to do things many different ways and look at things differently. They do clue giving differently here where the game masters actually come into the room with you which I enjoyed for the most part because they can see everything youve done and can also use visual communication but some people may not like it so thought I would note it. Will return to try some of the other interesting rooms - the military themed one was the only available during our visit.
Had an amazing time in the Prohibition Room. This was my first Escape Room Experience. I went in not fully knowing what to expect, but it was a lot of fun and the staff was so helpful. The clues were challenging, but very logical and well-thought out. It really brought out my competitive nature.I already have plans to go back!
My teenage daughter and I took at the Alien Attack room today, and although we did not escape I rank this room in my top three experiences in NYC. Why? The decor wasn’t off the hook, and the technology, while cool, was a touch glitchy. It is in my top three because of the puzzles. This room is awesome for the hands-on puzzle player. Thoughtful brain games that are totally different from any other I’ve done in NYC, and to date we’ve visited at least 25. Alien Attack satisfied both my creative daughter’s mind as well as my logic-based approach. I HIGHLY recommend this facility and this room. Another perk is the roomy, comfortable waiting area and the friendly staff (shout out to Kim). Btw two people was a real challenge; I suggest four. More than four people may leave participants just watching one another work, which I imagine could be frustrating.
To place was soooo much fun ! The staff really makes you feel like you are in the moment and stick to the theme. They are friendly and patient. It was a great experience. The room was well designed, the technology was AWESOME!! The only reason why I give it a four out of five is because some of the puzzles were confusing to the point where we would never have solved some without hints, and even after explanation I did not understand. My friends and I are defiantly coming back! It was great team building and excitable. So well designed! I can not get over it.
Got a group of friends to come here for my wifes birthday and we all enjoyed it. We did the Prohibition Pandemonium with 8 people. My friend from SF had done 53different escape rooms in other states and he said this was the best one out of all of them. Friendly staff and good price.
So much fun! We did the Manhattan Madness grouped together with another family and I could honestly say it was the most fun Ive had with a bunch of strangers. This is the real way to make peace ... stick people in a room for an hour and tell them to use their talents, not their flaws, to think their way out. We all split up and conquered the puzzles at varying lengths of time. It didnt matter that we didnt all speak the same language (there were 3), we worked together and accomplished our goal. Go teamwork!
The Alien Invasion room was very well put together and pretty challenging. It requires teamwork for some parts but there are also some areas where its best to divide and conquer in the interest of saving time. As long as you go with the mindset to have fun youll have a good time, even if you dont escape the room. I did like that they tell you how to solve all the puzzles and escape if you fail to, which places Ive been to in the past havent always done.
Our company hosted a team building event before the start of our season. We had a large group (18 people) and Escape Entertainment was perfect for us. It was hard to find a place with the same concept (escaping the room) that would accommodate a group this large. They were super easy to work with and booking a date/time was easy as well. I would recommend this to groups of any size, but definitely groups larger than 10.
Played the Prohibition themed game last week with a group of friends and we all had a terrific time. The game room itself was very cool, with the look and feel of an actual speakeasy, and the puzzles challenging and fun. Kim, our Adventure Guide was awesome. Cant wait to come back and play the Monkey Mayhem game.
Having been to escape rooms in several countries, this one is pretty decent. Only did the Egyptian room, but the puzzles were well done, the props/scenery was solid, and the balance/time was appropriate. It can be a bit of a chore to get to on weekends, but worth the trip. One aspect that was a little awkward was the hammy acting/roleplay by the staff in the prelude to the room. Im sure some people get into it and that it could be an icebreaker for some groups, but it wasnt for us.
We did the ultimate guest room and it was awesome. The staff was so helpful and engaging. Dr Colgate A.K.A Lou was so fun to work with. His friendliness made the experience all the better. We hope to return and try one of the other rooms soon! Thanks to all the staff for all their great work! Keep it up!
The room was immersive and the puzzles were fun. The only problem with the room was the allowed player size. I get that more people equal more profit. I just didnt think there were enough things to do in the room that required any more than 6 players. Rude staff. We had no one to greet us and were left waiting on the couch only to be addressed from a yell down the hall and when no one responded to that voice that could had been spoken to anyone in the building, the follow up was Am I speaking English? as the employee got closer to the waiting room. Nice sarcasm to your customer and really put a bad taste in our mouth going into the room. Also we felt rushed into the room with a rushed backstory. Great room and Im sure all the other rooms for this business are just as enjoyable but as an escape room paying customer I want to be treated like you care that I have an enjoyable time instead of feeling like Im walking in and out of a revolving door. Im sorry, but the bad taste will probably keep me away from at least this location.
We did the Mastermind escape and had such a good time. We were still talking about a few days later. We didnt beat it but came so, so close. Really good mix of challenging and fun without being impossible. Will definitely be going back to try another one of the rooms!
Did the prohibition room with 6 friends. Lets start with the positives. The production values are decent and I certainly got a 1920s atmosphere from the place. The mechanics used in some of the puzzles are clever and really do have some potential to make a cool room. The host was pleasant and made sure to walk us through what we missed at the end.Now lets get to the negatives. Some mechanics are overused to the extreme. Without giving too much away, the host starts off demonstrating that certain pictures on the wall are on hinges. Well you will soon find out that ALL of the pictures have this same mechanic. What could have been an exciting thing to discover about one clue is immediately revealed and becomes the defacto method for looking at clues to the point that you will become bored of pushing pictures out of the way to view the scribblings behind them. One of the clues is actually there to fake you out. Theres no clever way to figure out this is a fake clue. You are just supposed to try to use it, fail, and become frustrated.Perhaps the worst offense is the incessant offering of hints. My past experience with other escape rooms is that they are generally solvable without clues, but you may ask for hints if you get stuck. Its a good system that lets people use the assistance to whatever degree they feel they need it. At this room though, you will be offered hints unprompted. My group got dozens of hints. To add insult to injury, many of the puzzles had goals that were ill-defined enough from the provided materials as to make the hints necessary. Our host told us the room has a 30% solve rate, which is similar to most of the other escape rooms Ive been to, but I find it hard to believe even 1% of groups could solve this room without any hints. Meanwhile at more well-conceived rooms, there are many more groups getting by without asking for hints. In summary, if you are an escape room veteran, you will find this room lacking as Ive described, but potentially playable if you are running out of new rooms to play. If this is your first time trying an escape room, I would try a room that plays a bit more standardly before tackling this one.
David was so awesome! We completed one of the hardest ones with 1:29 seconds to spare. So worth the time and price! The staff is a bit noisy moving back and forth and talking from behind the curtain in the beginning when we are supposed to listen to the video but aside from them, the staff we interacted with was pretty fantastic!
We would like to Thank the Staff at Escape Room Games for a fabulous time. Our Company used this as a Team Builder Activity, and it was a total success. All the staff provided great reviews and they cant wait to go back again. Special thanks to Noelle for all of her assistance in making this event a success.
A group of 8 of us were looking for something different to do and decided to try one of these room escape places. After looking at a few of the brands, we decided on this one and glad that we did. It is well run, very clean and they have definitely decided to be the high quality version in NYC. The room had great set design and even the waiting area had brain teaser/problem solving games to get warmed up.We did the Manhattan game and split off into groups. We were REALLY close to successfully getting out of the room, but fell short by just a few minutes. If you are tired of just going to bar and feeling bad the next day this is a great option.
We did Ultimate Heist and LOVED it. The staff is great and Lou, (Lou is staff, played characters in the game) was hilarious, and a great actor. He was also very nice and helpful. The puzzles involve teamwork and thinking. But everyone had a phenomenal night. We HIGHLY recommend Clue Chase. We hope you have fun!!!
Super challenging. I did this with my 3 sons and husband for my husbands birthday. We were paired with 5 girls. We all worked hard as a team and had a great time, it was super challenging and creative.. would go back again. We Escaped the Room, Only 33% of the guest ever escaped!! Totally worth the $$..
The level of detail and authenticity of the locked rooms makes this a superior escape experience. Our mix of tourists and native New Yorkers bonded and almost made it out, we just needed another minute! Highly recommended to anyone who wants a stimulating challenge and plain old fun.
My best escape game experience by far. I have played numerous escape games in NYC and other parts of the world and Escape Entertainment sets a new standard. My friends and I played Alien Attack and were challenged and very impressed by the strength of logical connections among the various challenges as well as close tie to a compelling storyline. In short, it was phenomenal—great, immersive set, terrific use of technology and plenty for everyone in our group of 10 to do throughout the game. We managed to escape with 21 seconds left and finished feeling exhilarated and well rewarded for our efforts. Alien Attack requires good teamwork, imagination and calling upon the strengths of individual team members. In my mind, these are the attributes of a great game in that they emphasize the social aspect of the experience and we were all high fiving with excitement throughout and at the conclusion of the game. Beyond the game, the facility is very nicely presented and welcoming and the staff are friendly professionals (they are all performance artists) who enhanced our overall experience and made it that much more enjoyable. I would recommend Escape Entertainment to anyone.
The front desk people are extremely rude and not welcoming. After going inside the room, we were given a very brief and short introduction and then we were left alone. The room decor is decent and most of the room was fun except a puzzle that kept malfunctioning and stopped us from escaping. We should of been refunded or given extra time since it was not our fault.
We went to Clue Chase as a group for our friends birthday. We all came from different locations and got stuck in traffic. They were really accommodating despite our late arrival and gave us their utmost patience. The rooms are a thrill. Really challenging and enjoyable. Cant wait to come back again and try the other rooms.
This place is amazing. My friends and I did The Egyptian Tomb and although we did not escape we had a wonderful time figuring it out and bonding. Now, I am going again to try and escape The Ultimate Heist, yet I came across a paying issue. I called Clue Chase about 3 times and every time I was meet with nothing, but patience, kindness and efficiency.10/10 recommend.
I’ve played multiple escape rooms in NYC and Escape Entertainment’s facility and game designs are far superior to the others. Not only was the establishment well designed and comfortable, the games are perfectly challenging and the staff is incredibly polite and eccentric. Kevin, our game guide was a pleasure to be with and his humor was uncanny. Overall, a ten out of ten, and a big recommendation from me.
I liked the staff and the videos they made for the game. But I didnt really enjoy the game design. The whole game relies on the robot running around showing you the next steps and giving you hints. You wont be able to solve the puzzle without the hints given by the robot but with the hints they are just too straightforward. I played some other escaped rooms that were better designed.
This place was AMAZING!!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Aaron was extremely funny and helpful in the room. He kept giving us clues. It’s also really cool that it’s in the Grace Building. It truly made us feel like we were on a mission! Can’t wait to go back!!
We did the Ultimate Heist, it was one of the most exciting escape games Ive done. Once you figure out how to exit the room, there are still dozens of side puzzles to solve, and your score for the game is based more on how many of those side puzzles you solve than on how quickly you get out of the room. It was a great way to keep everyone involved and engaged in the game throughout the whole process. The only thing I wish they would change is to wait until we ask for hints before providing them, they were a little too forthcoming and helpful with the clues. Other than that though, great experience overall, very immersive.
Amazing escape the room style game with interesting themes like Aliens/Bank Robbers. Would do it again, however, the rooms do get quite warm in the summer and some of the rooms need better lighting. Still a good spot to go with friends if you are in the Bryant Park area!
This is my 5th escape room and easily puts the others to shame. Every review on Google and Yelp were 5 of 5. I thought that was an anomaly but they deserve it!The game room itself is like a movie set - unlike other places that are simply rooms with locked cabinets. The ambiance of the room and sound effects was amazing! I played the speakeasy and it really gives you the impression youre back in time. The mods showed us the other rooms and they look amazing too.The game itself was like no other. The usual formula is (find clue => solve puzzle => open lock => repeat) but here all the puzzles are complex and take real detective work and deductive skills. The moderators are really helpful too. Unlike other places, they were following us every step of the way and gave us hints seemingly right before we were about to ask for them. The hints themselves were more focusing tools than answers, more pointing us in the right direction or helping us put together the right combination of clues for the right puzzle since the game is loaded with possibilities. The price was surprizingly inexpensive. After the living social promo, it was the cheapest. So it really blew me away with the quality I got. The highest quality for the cheapest price? How do they do that? The mods were kind enough to show us the other rooms and they looked amazing as well. I am definitely coming back for the other games.
My son and his friends did the Ultimate Heist challenge for his birthday, and they had an unforgettable time! I want to give a special shout out to AUSTIN, who was just awesome!!!! Austin struck the perfect balance between remaining in character and keeping within the theme of the escape challenge, while also keeping it real. Im sure that is not easy. He also was smooth and very skilled in interacting with my young son and his friends. He was like a super-cool older cousin. Thank you, Austin! We will definitely be back.
Decided to do this for my son’s13th birthday as a family ... GREAT TIME !!!! Great staff who were attentive the minute we walked in. Location was great with a parking garage directly across the street. We picked a mid - level room in advance and found it challenging and fun . We failed miserably but can’t wait to return to try another room...
A great activity for tweens and teens looking for something to do together where they can put their phones away and engage in thought provoking collaboration. Well organized, cleverly designed and fun, I highly recommended it for the curious and imaginative of all ages. Special shout out to Sasha who did a terrific job of keeping a gaggle of 14 year old girls on task while making it fun.
The escape room Cold War edition. Cool thing to do with friends/family. Gets you thinking and interacting. When I did it, I did it with two people I knew and the rest were others that had bought tickets too. I recommend you do it with a big group of friends. Staff is friendly. To get in you get in through the big building in front of Bryant Park, then youre taken downstairs
Super fun! I did Alien encounter with Y Travelers camp and it was amazing. The robot, who we named Bobby Joe was really helpful. After the room, I learned that it was actually an AI, and not human-controlled. This surprised me because a teammate said “Life’s a b*tch” and the AI responded with “I know, right?”. I finished with give or take 2 minutes left. 10/10 escape room.
I had sooo much fun here even if my friends and I didn’t manage to escape the room. We played the Egyptian room, which was sooo much fun. I was there for my friends birthday party, where we had cake and the party festivities in a room somewhere in Clue Chase right after we did the escape room.
In the wide world of escape the room games, this is hardly near the top of my list. The game room, poorly decorated and in dire need of rehab, is probably one of the least inspired - sporting childish paintings of monkeys and new yorks skyline. Although there were 1 or 2 tricky puzzles, my team was out with nearly a quarter hour to spare. If you want the real deal go to Escape the Room NYC, or at least try to get images of the game room before you go. The ambiance is so key to the experience for these things, if they cheap out you feel a bit sleighted.

2022-04-30Gus was our fearless leader! He was amazing and got us into the mood and spirit of the Pirates of the Bermuda Triangle right away! My kids were captivated and we enjoyed it so much. The first half hour was very difficult and I thought we would not get any of the clues but We loved it! Gus guided us with nice clues and we were able to get out with 6 minutes remaining. My kids were so engaged and we had a lot of fun too!! Highly recommend!!!

2022-05-24After a horrible experience at a different escape room place, we went to their Prohibition room at the end of the night to turn it around and it certainly did. The clue master, Monica, was engaging, humorous and wonderful at her job. She was clearly very engaged and paying close attention to our game and made it such a Fun experience. Would love to go there again soon!!

2022-06-01My boyfriend and I truly had an amazing time!! We were determined to finally get through an escape room and we did!! With the help of “Clue Lou” of course!!From the moment we walked into the establishment he and the other worker greeted us with such amazing energy. They immediately put smiles on our faces and proceeded to walk us through what the night would entail.Once we got into the escape room the atmosphere was great. We looked around and found clues and eventually made it out with Clue Lou’s help. We found out we had picked one of the more difficult rooms but they didn’t make us feel as if we were doing bad or bothering them when we summoned them for assistance. All in all everything went great and we’ll definitely be back in the future! We definitely recommend them for a great escape room experience!!

2022-05-09Clue Lou was an AMAZING host! Very in character, and extremely in spirit! It made our experience a great one. The rooms are outstanding in decor/ puzzle and challenging, but not impossible! I absolutely would give 3 thumbs up if I, in fact, had an extra thumb! Kudos to Clue Chase, well be back!!

2021-08-30I went with my sister and her friend today and had so much fun! Because we were already in the area, we did a walk-in but called first to make sure we can secure our spot. I’d recommend booking in advance online though since they were for sure busy. We did the Guardian of Gotham escape room and I think the price was worth the experience, especially since it’s more affordable than other escape rooms in the area. Also want to give a shout-out toCasey, the employee who helped us for being super helpful/accommodating all throughout!

2022-05-23Had a last minute booking for the Houdini room, it was my second time at an escape room, but this room was so difficult to figure out! Very challenging, my friends and I loved it. Clue Lou had to help us out almost beginning to end, but it was still so fun! If you get to meet Clue Lou, he definitely will let you remember his presence!

2021-12-24We played Pirates of the Bermuda Triangle with the family. Everyone enjoyed the experience. The puzzles were super fun and the game master was very attentive and helped us along the way. It was really rewarding when we successfully escaped the room. We really needed to play as a team and communicate with each other throughout. Highly recommended for a fun family or group team building activity.

2022-05-16Nicely done game with a good mix of puzzle types and a fun story line. The only thing to note is that you’re given a choice of how you can receive hints. We went with the “help if it looks like we’re struggling” option based on past escape room experiences, but it felt like we got help too early in the process for some puzzles which took away some of the urgency/excitement. It could be because we had mostly teens in the group or that was how that option worked. Just something to keep in mind when given the choice. Overall, though, it was a lot of fun and a great group activity.

2022-01-26We did the pirate themed escape room which was very fun and challenging, but what made it even more fun was our host, Casey, who was engaging and helped provide the right level of guidance while also giving us room to solve the puzzles. Highly recommend this venue.

2022-05-17If you enjoy interactive escape rooms, Clue Chase will not disappoint! I will write a brief blurb about each room below, but overall Clue Chase has been one of my favorite franchises in NYC to date. I hope they open a new adventure soon! The one critique I have of the company in general is that their theme is based on finding an artifact from different time periods, but that does not really factor much into gameplay. However, there are so many positives about Clue Chase, the #1 being their staff! Everyone is animated and excited to be there, and it just makes the experience so much better! You also get a discount if you book your next adventure that day. The regular price is $35/person plus fees and taxes.Pirates of the Bermuda Triangle - Group of 4If you just do one room at Clue Chase, I highly recommend Pirates! This was the first one I did at the franchise, and it was SO FUN! The tasks align well with the theme, and the puzzles involve you living your best pirate life. We found the puzzles manageable, and just needed two hints from Kiana when she saw we were going astray. 4 is a good number for the room due to one of the activities requiring multiple people and some puzzles are easier when working in a team of 2.Guardian of Gotham - Group of 4If you prefer superheroes to pirates, this would be my second recommendation! Like Pirates, this room is extremely interactive and the puzzles rely on tech to unlock stuff. 4 is a good number for the room because there are a lot of tasks to do at first. I went with a similar group of people that I did Pirates, and we agreed that the puzzles were a little easier in Gotham than Pirates. Mac was a great moderator!Houdinis Workshop - Group of 4Marketed as their hardest room, Houdinis Workshop did not disappoint! The puzzles are interactive and you do need a group of 4 because there are a lot of tasks to do that can be done simultaneously. While we still had fun in the room, we liked this less than Pirates and Gotham because the puzzles were not good challenging. A majority of the puzzles were fine, but there were a few red herrings, and it was hard to tell which clue unlocked which lock. To me, a well designed room gives you a subtle hint as to where to look, especially if there is a lot of stimuli. Priscilla helped us through this room.Moonshine Madness - Group of 2This is supposedly Clue Chases easiest room, but I strongly disagree with that assessment. I know that youre probably thinking that its because we did it with 2 people, but we have done many escape rooms as a group of 2! I believe Moonshine Madness has the hardest puzzles. The other rooms may be trickier by quantity. I felt like we used Priscilla a lot in this room because the puzzles were not really connected. I even felt like the beginning puzzles were challenging and incorporated a few stretches. I also think the directions to do certain tasks could be more clear. Its not that I did not have fun, but this is definitely my least favorite room at Clue Chase. However, I would recommend it if youre looking for a challenge and found Pirates to be too easy.Note: All of these experiences were successful escapes :)
