Simply put, this is one of the best places in NYC. Pharmacists are so nice and helpful (as is everyone who works there), the product selection is fantastic, and it’s a beautiful place with great history. I am so glad I moved all my Rx here. They are also wonderful with my baby son’s reflex meds and always ensure we have the proper info to submit for insurance. I love coming here.
C.O Bigelow isnt just a drugstore its a rare gem of the west village and not owned by a major corporation. They have everything from high end brands like Deborah Lippman and Mavalia nail polish to Nivea cream / Burts Bees cream. They have a slew of european beauty brands but also basic things - I love going in there every now and then to see whats new and I found the staff extremely helpful and polite.
Beautiful store with a great line of makeup, skin and hair products. More of an old school pharmacy than a one stop convenience store.
I have learned that I need their night balm for my daily use. When the seasons change I get skin that peels and flakes. Their # 306 is my favorite night balm and is the only product to quickly fix this issue. I am not a makeup wearing person so I just needed something simple that works. So I purchased several so Ill never run out again. Plus the freebies I got with my order made for a nice bonus.
First started using products from C.O. Bigelow about 2015. I was able to purchase them at a local store here in Florida. Knowing the background of this small Family company that has been around since 1838 is unreal. I recently placed an online order and couldnt be more happy with the delivery. Arrived quick was packed secure so there were no leaks. Company provided free samples of products I currently have not tried. The body wash from C.O. Bigelow is superior to anything else Ive tried. Not only does it smell great but my skin looks and feels better. Using high quality ingredients does make a difference. This customer for life thanks your Family for providing excellent products and services.
I LOVE C.O. BIGELOW!!!Been a customer for 35 years and the only place that had hand sanitizer above 70% alcohol and didnt dry out my hands during the heigh of the Covid-19 pandemic. I also have a sweet spot for their guard cat Allegra who is the Queen of the store. She might grace you with her presence.
Excellent experience. Unique store is totally different from typical chain retailers these days. Full of interesting things but still calm and peaceful. Friendly and knowledgeable staff helped w my xmas shopping for my whole family. CEO was behind the counter wrapping gifts which shows his unparalled commitment to the company and to customer service.
I came there because I used a lavender shampoo in a Vegas hotel (Cosmopolitan) which I like a lot. The price is quite high, but I love this product:) unfortunately you can not buy it online (I am from Germany). As this product has an expiry date, I can not buy it on stock:(

The shop is chock full of goodies! They offer many of the cosmetics youd find at a dept store, but with some hard to find brands. Also, they offer pharmacy products too. I love exploring the shop and inevitably end up splurging on something I never knew I always wanted!
An NYC treasure on 6th Ave. Lavender-peppermint hand soap and lotion. Bought out the store.
Their products are high quality and smell great. My gym uses their body wash, conditioner, and shampoo. all of which are good on sensitive skin and have a great scent.
The is not your typical pharmacy! It is a bit on the pricey end, but you will find luscious items from all over the world. Its like shopping on a world tour once you are inside. The owner likes to bring items that he finds on this travels in Europe. A great spot for gifts and when you want to give yourself some fancy things.

Bigelow’s has everything you’d want in a pharmacy and more. Smart friendly pharmacists who are available to answer your questions and follow up on any issues. There is an informed front counter where they really know their stuff. The other pluses are a quality beauty and makeup counter in an Beautiful historical building. Even though I moved out of manhattan I still use them because I know I can trust them.
Their selection of beauty produces and regular drug store items are great. However, the pharmacy was such a painful experience. I waited for more than 40 minutes to get generic eyedrops that didnt need special formulation or dosage. I usually use Capsule and wanted to give Bigelow a shot, never again.
Love this store. Great place to find fabulous gifts. Used to eat at the attached luncheonette, long gone. This is where I get my Kent hairbrushes, LeClerc makeup and much more. Miss it more than any store in NYC.
Co bigelow took extra care of a product issue that arose. they went above and well beyond of great customer service. i highly recommend this landmark apothocary.!!!!!! quality items, old school items. you smile when browsing the isles and shopping, love it. thanks again for the great customer service
I love this place. Ive been going there on and off my whole life. Charming atmosphere in a quaint shop. Great goodies everywhere you look. A nice change from the chain outlets. I remember going there as a young child with my mom. They have wonderful products you just cant find anywhere else. I love it!
This place is so cool. went in to sample riddle oil because they’re basically the only stockist in nyc and ended up buying a lot of other stuff. good for gifts
I love them. I just started getting my daughters medication sent here. Better than dealing with CVS and Walgreens & Duane Reade doesn’t except our insurance. Everyone is sooo nice. They are extremely caring and patient. They even remember names. Ava is my favorite
Went to the store CO Bigelow store to get CO Bigelow brand items. They had lots of other branded products, but barely anything of their own line. Walked out with nothing because I realized it would be easier to just order what I wanted online. Makes no sense.
I walked in a had polite friendly service even though Im an out of towner who doesnt know how the prescription services run here. The woman at the counter was kind and explained clearly and offered to text me when my prescription was in and ready to pick up. Less than two hours after the script was sent in they messaged me at 7.30 at night to tell me I could pick up! Great service in a quirky and cute apothecary.

Purchased soap from them online, going on 3 weeks and I haven’t received, I dont even know if it was shipped and I’ve tried calling/emailing/contacted through website many times each and have been ignored through every outlet I’ve tried. Don’t waste time, money or effort w/ this company, their customer service is non-existent.
C.O. Biegelow isnt your typical pharmacy - its a wonderland of hard to find brands, vast selection, and sometimes whimsical finds. They carry typical pharmacy products in the back, but in the front you can find jewelry, hair accessories, candles, travel goods, and much, much more. They also carry a great selection of brands for everything from nailpolish (including Deborah Lipman and Butter) to hair care (Mason Pearson brushes) and anything else you could hope for. The sales-people are very friendly and helpful.
A haven for product junkies! While, yes...it IS a pharmacy it has one of the most extensive collection of drugstore, niche and popular brands crammed into one location. The shelves are packed with goodies waiting to be discovered and the sales rep usually leave you alone but are more than willing to help. Every time, I visit the store I walk out with a small fortune of products. My only qualm, is that some of the items that are not as popular has small layer of dust. Which is why I tend to stay away from those products because they might be past their prime.
This place is a classic. Its rumored Edison, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Mark Twain shopped at Bigelows. After trying just one product, it makes perfect sense. After getting my shaving cream here once, I couldnt get it at any other drug store or pharmacy. Definitely worth a try.
Step back in time and you will not be disappointed in the range of products, services and the staff. I love the look of the store and it is a must visit when Im in town for their store brand Lime and Coriander hand wash!
C.O. Bigelow is famous! Its been around forever and I dont see it going out of business soon. They have devout customers and the selection is excellent. They carry cosmetics, fancy items, even Spanxs. Great place for a present or just to even stock up on your beauty supplies. Walk inside and its like walking into a timewarp. Very old fashioned and classic.
Lovely Selection of Products both Beauty/Skin and Makeup however, Their Return Policy is garbage for CERTAIN BRANDS so be aware of what you buy and make a very definite choice.

I could spend a small fortune in this store, the best face products money can buy. The C.O. Bigelow line was introduced to me when I worked at Bath and Body works. Sadly they dropped so much of their line, I wound up just going to the source of all goodness in skin care. C.O.Bigelow is one of the oldest apothecaries around, anywhere, this store is still in its original location, and going strong, which says something for sure. They also carry the only brand of sunscreen that does NOT make me break out, by Vanicream. Yes, you not break out from it. Maybe a tad pricey, but trust me, WAY worth it!
Walking into this place makes me feel like Im stepping back in time to the 50s. Its refreshing. Unlike the chain drug stores, C.O. stocks more unique brands of skin care options. I can get lost here for hours. Worth checking out.

This eclectic mad pharmacist shop is the go to place when you are in need of unique and hard to find supplements, brands and products. Im not sure how long it has been around, but judging from the photos it may be a historic landmark.

My experience visiting this place was just limited to getting some pharmacy. The store itself carries a lot of other stuff apart from pharmacy.The staff was helpful and was wait wasnt long to get my prescription. I will come back here to get some stuff apart from medicines!
Truthfully if you happen to be looking for a job don’t work here and if you are looking for a pharmacy don’t come to this one. The workers are very rude and they are not helpful what so ever.

2021-12-07I just love this place. I haven’t been in person since the late summer but I’ve ordered from their website many times and it usually arrives to me in Brooklyn the next day. They are slammed for the holidays and my shipment appeared to be delayed or maybe there was a problem with USPS. Elliot was so friendly in response to my email. I would wait much longer to receive my package from C.O. Bigelow just because I’m happy to support a local ICONIC business. (I ordered the lemon body cream after they sent me a free sample in my previous order. Danggggg that stuff is yummy.)
