My favorite coffee shop! The staff is always so friendly and attentive. They are very quick & everything I have had there is awesome! Do yourself a favor and try their swiss chocolate almond coffee (I like it iced), its amazing. Always a great start to my work day :-)
There is something to be said about a coffee shop that makes a good cup of Joe. This little gem does it exceptionally well. On 1st Ave between 70th and 71st street - it is not without competition (they shall remain nameless) - and yet this place stands out.A regular coffee tastes smooth, no bitter acidic after taste that is commonly associated with an over done roast. Bright, aromatic and complex are the words I would use to describe this cup. And yet - every morning they do this again and again.Definitely a must stop to begin your morning.
I just happened to walk by today while I was on the prowl for some strong coffee and a pastry. So happy I found The Coffee Inn! The employees of this tiny coffee spot are so friendly and warm. I ordered a medium iced latte ($4.75, not cheap) and the most delicious almond croissant. Will definitely stop by here again in the future. Thanks!
NYC has so many coffee-shops: some are great, some are Starbucks, some are random and some are just nothing special and are there because there always will be people who will drop by for various reasons. This place is nothing special in means of atmosphere and staff. The blueberry scone was obviously not made same day and was almost painful to eat. Would not recommend this place unless you are desperate to have a hot tea and a bite to eat like I was yesterday.
Quite possibly the best coffee in NY. Better than 7/11, Starbucks, or Dunkin Donuts! Also just coffee and some pastries/bagels, so really no waiting on long lines.I get there at 6:00am and the place is empty(so may get busy at other times). Staff is attentive and friendly. Take time to view the decor - nice touch.
The place smelled amazing and I was excited to try to their coffee. Specifically ordered my iced coffee with just a little milk since I didnt see any milk to add after being served. My coffee was so light I couldnt taste it at all. I paid $4 for a big cup of milk. Will not return. The staff was rude and rushing all orders, they need to take a minute, listen to the customers, and get simple orders correct.
The Coffee Inn serves above average coffee from a small space. They have limited seating and offer free WiFi. They sell some snacks including a limited selection of pastries and bagels. I like the bagel with tuna, its tasty. With that being said there is a lot of competition for premium coffee on the Upper East Side and city wide. They are not the best on the Upper East but they are up there.
I’ve been coming here for nearly 10 years. There are three guys who usually work in the mornings who know what they are doing, are efficient, and remember what the regulars order. The problem over the last couple of years has been the new staff they have brought in. The morning rush is now nothing short of a giant shouting match as they yell for your order six people deep. Then you get to the counter, everyone is talking over each other, and you end up repeating your order two more times. It can be complete chaos - all for coffee that in all honesty is marginally better than Starbucks. But I like to support local businesses and really hope the ordering process is addressed. As someone else said, take your time, listen to what your customers are ordering the first time, and stop the madness when it gets busy.
I come here several times a week. Isaac is one of the guys there in the mornings. He is great with remembering the names and orders of the regulars. They move quickly and have a lil assembly line for the orders. There are a few chairs to sit if need be, but mainly a quick take out spot. Coffee is great and they steam ur milk. Yum.
Depends if you like the atmosphere or the coffee.Atmosphere: lovely, cosy and good perched window seating for people watching or working on laptop. Good Wi-Fi. Guy behind the counter remembers his regulars by name, this is always endearing.Coffee: this is the reason for 3 stars. Not a speciality coffee place thats for sure. Serves its purpose for the coffee on the go office guy but not for the taste experience.

2021-07-28Y’all, this coffee is bomb!!!!! I don’t even remember my whole order (I visited for the 1st time 2 weeks ago), but it was so good! I think I had an iced chai tea latte with vanilla, so delicious!!! They don’t have much seating inside, but there is plenty of outdoor seating. The staff were friendly and even though there were a lot of people, I didn’t wait long. Aside from delicious drinks, they also serve breakfast snacks (bagels, croissants, etc). A cute neighborhood spot, I highly recommend!

2022-02-22Love the front sidewalk seating but was very disappointed with the coffee, lWhen I visits a place for the first time and not sure about their coffee I get a cappuccino with oat which can mask a bad espresso. They had oatly milk and that’s usually always good. The coffee tasted bitter, not coffee bitter but burnt bitter, and since my Wife and I had our first daughter three days ago and haven’t slept and feeling on top of the world I didn’t feel like dealing with it giving the barista wasn’t a friendly one. Also realized he didn’t rinse the pitcher from the previous almond milk drink he made before. If you’re not there for good coffee you should be ok .

2017-11-12Excellent coffee with good selection of pastries. The best thing about this place, however, is the staff. They are nice, quick, and attentive. And they all wear great hats !They use steamed milk when you order milk in your coffee , which is a great touch.

2018-02-06Walked in was the only patron GR8!!! I asked the employee for the maple waffle donut. We argued about them selling the donuts before. I had to pull up a picture of someone who ordered the donut from The Coffee Inn. The employee apologized stated they no longer have the donuts..bummer.The soy vanilla chai was omg so satiating that after a bite of the donut I wrapped it up and just doted on the latte. Cafe au lait donut was ok very huge in person and can be shared. I’m not a donut fan but had my taste buds for the maple waffle. I will return to try a croissant and yes a vanilla chai!!!! Ambiance nice and cozy, guess you can pick a book off the shelf and read too!!✌🏽

2022-02-23It’s a cozy spot indoors but mostly outside. My mom put me on to this spot. I love the spicy chai latte! It’s literally the best in the city. The owners is super nice and everyone is super friendly. Tasty bites and quick service.

2022-04-09There is an Asian guy cashier there, serving with attitude. Didn’t welcome the guest, didn’t listen to the order carefully, laughing and making big noise with other ppl while serving the coffee. Will never go again. Coffee is just so so. 4/9/22

2022-05-05Coffee is disgustingIt’s over roasted bitter and feels burntThe cashier has an attitude, actually looking over me for a good 10seconds when I walked in, had to literally announce my arrival for him to pay attention to me and I was the only one in the placeThey think that if they put cool hats it will compensate for their bad coffee and service but it just adds to the pathetic feel of this place
