One of the best coffee places I’ve been too, but sadly I will have to find another place. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place a few months ago and have made it our designated coffee place to visit every Sunday. Service has always been great, but this Sunday definitely changed, you see my boyfriend has a hearing problem and wasn’t wearing his hearing aide. He usually gets a Carmel latte with cream instead of milk. He ordered and The blonde young woman who was taking our order didn’t seem to understand that he wanted cream and started yelling “ what milk do you want” as my boyfriend kept repeating himself (asking for cream) and the woman obviously was getting flustered as the line of people grew longer. My boyfriend was embarrassed and just ordered something he didn’t want because the woman clearly was annoyed he didn’t want any of the Milks she was mentioning. It was an embarrassing situation, so much that other visitors just watched as we waited. She should keep in mind that everyone is going through something and some people look forward for a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning. I hope she never treats anyone like that again.
I love Starbucks and drink it nearly every day. I just had Coffee Labs iced latte and it was the best darn espresso I have ever had (aside from Barcelona). My niece had the chai latte and she agreed that too was the best she had ever had! The staff were exceptionally personal and friendly. Not used to actually engaging with the baristas, so it was a very pleasant visit!
Love this place! I mean the coffee is amazing and the lattes are just as good too. They do this special coffee of the day roasted in this spaceship looking star trek glass machine thingy... Idk what Harry Potter magic is in the glass but oooohhhhhh boy it makes the coffee flavors stand out so much! Our yellow lab loves this store as well, she thinks its named after her because she is the bestest girl ever!
Neat little coffee shop / roaster, but be warned of lines out the door at popular times. The staff was efficient and friendly when I visited at 8:30 in the morning before the crowds.Their espresso machine appears to only produce doppio shots (double shots).I brought home a pound of Witches Brew coffee and its a decent blend, though I wish I had gone for something lighter roast.
We’ve been to Coffee Labs a couple of times while visiting Tarrytown. The coffee isn’t too bad, however the service needs improvement.Every time we went there they asked us how we were going to leave a tip. It definitely felt forced and it’s a tactic that is unacceptable. I’ve been to plenty of other coffee shops where they don’t do this.I have no problem leaving a generous tip, especially for exceptional service, however this place does not warrant it.We waited at least 10 minutes for two regular coffees and had to remind the sever of our order Like other reviews have stated, the service was subpar. We won’t be going here again.
Part of going to a coffee shop is the experience, otherwise people would make their own, and the experience was not good. The front register lady was VERY gruff and snappy when I was ordering my coffee. It was like she was in a huge rush, but there wasn’t other customers. The coffee was great, but I wouldn’t go back after the customer service was so poor. She either needs to work in the back or get some remedial customer service training. I was really looking forward to this coffee shop, and I’m disappointed.
First time visiting, I would not return due to the service. There are plenty of other coffee options and this was not enjoyable. The coffee was good but the lady working was pretty rude. There was one person in front of us and no one behind when ordering so they weren’t very busy. When ordering I asked to add cream to my coffee and she very rudely told me that I can add it myself.
This place is the best! My husband and I went to Tarrytown for our honeymoon and stopped in to grab a drink. Their toffee coffee is SO good! Also I went back in a few minutes later bc I wanted to buy some coffee that they make. They were absolutely slammed but they had no problem grinding the beans for me for FIVE bags! All the staff was so nice. We even went back the next day to get out coffee fix. Would absolutely recommend if you are ever in Tarrytown to stop by!
Purchased a 12oz nitro cold brew and there was 4oz of coffee and 8oz of foam(this picture is 5 minutes post pour). I asked the owner if this was normal expecting that they would fix it and their answer was Yes, there is a lot of foam and hinted they could add iced coffee but why would we want that in a nitro coffee? A very poor experience from a higher end coffee establishment. A beer poured like this would wouldnt be acceptable why is it for a coffee?
I used to go here years ago and it was pretty good. Now, not so much. Rude customer service and was very disappointed in the products I purchased. The pumpkin bread with chocolate chips was inedible, the pumpkin butternut latte was meh and lukewarm. I also had a sweet potato corn muffin which was good. But for $18.00, i wont be back.
This is an awesome place to enjoy wonderful coffee with some creative designs. The great smell of the freshly roasted beans can come home with you. The owners of this shop are super to the community. They are kind & caring. These folks & their store are an asset to Tarrytown & the villages around us. Stop by & enjoy what they have to offer. Youll be glad you did!
Hands down the best coffee place in Westchester. Love stopping by for an amazing tasting hot coffee in the winter and iced coffee in the summer. The staff is super quick, super friendly, and always makes you feel that youre getting the best level of customer service. During COVID, I ordered beans from them directly to try and get the same experience at home. Their selection of coffee has made me have the best at-home coffee experience possible. Cant recommend Coffee Labs enough!
During the COVID, I have been getting beans and making my own coffee using a French press. I have had beans delivered from all over the country, and recently my wife brought home beans from her trip to Indonesia. I say Coffee Labs has the best beans anywhere. I dont bother with other places anymore. Good variety and always roasted correctly (as opposed to Starbucks) and I would say well sourced. If delivered, the beans are ground correctly if requested, and in excellent bags. If you go to the store in Tarrytown, you can get 1/4 # bags, which is the sign of a knowledgeable and dedicated owner. I hope that they open up for seating soon. They always had 2 coffees from which to choose, and occasionally very exotic expensive, such as very high end Yemen brew for the sane price. A coffee connoisseur’s dream.
LOVE this place and their staff. Always a great cup of locally roasted coffee that they make on premises and a staff that is welcoming and attentive. So appreciative of their incredible effort to stay open during this very challenging time, and to make sure our community, and their staff, are safe and protected. Highly recommend!! THANK YOU Alicia and Mike - - - We love you!
In fairness, the place was under construction and service was through a window. Still, the coffee and drinks were watery, it took 20 minutes to deliver the order (only one barista and a line of about 10 people explains some of it), and it was pricey. May return after they reopen.
Nice place with some interesting options, including to-go growlers with cold brew and refills. While I dont live in the area and couldnt take advantage of that, the vanilla oat latte I had was good (a bit on the light side) and the carrot muffin was flavorful but a little bit dry. Not the best coffee experience, but the place is cozy and spacious enough to work for a few hours and overall was nice.
Coffee Labs has the best coffee Ive ever had, full-stop. The owners are lovely people who truly care about the quality of their product- it is their very clear first priority. This place gets crowded, so beware. If you dont like dogs, probably find a different coffee place.
This place use to so good, friendly nice crew with coffee making passion. After the COVID-19 reopening I realize that the original crew is gone forever, new crew is obsolete the worst. They will forcefully ask you for tip, if you said no, they will not hand you the coffee over the window, I know they need tip donation during pandemic, but do you think it’s easy for us to spend 5usd on a coffee in this economy?! I will never buy a coffee again from this place again!
Really wonderful service, excellent coffee, oat/macadamia/hemp milk options and a bunch of comfy counter seating or tight tables. Coffee processing happens right on the floor and can be very loud, which personally I like because it makes white noise for being able to concentrate on work! One (or possibly more) of the baristas makes really incredible custom latte art!!!
The best coffee spot! I love that they love dogs so bring your friendly pooch! The staff is super friendly, and they offer free wifi with a purchase. I love theyre coffee and rotating assortment of pastries, and they display work by local artists for purchase. They crew at coffee labs continues to provide excellent service during the pandemic with online ordering and orders to go at the door. They still offer excellent pastries and have been holding a vegan food day once a week that you can pre-order online and pickup at the door. Definitely a Tarrytown staple and worth the stop during your visit.
I literally go out of my way to drink exclusively Coffee Labs coffees. Their commitment to sustainably raised product, and support for Fair Trade farmers, make me feel good about buying from them. But it’s the perfectly roasted coffee and the nice, mellow vibe of the shop that keeps me coming back year after year.Their selection of baked goods is by far the best of any coffee shop in the area, too.
A great local coffee shop featuring a wide variety of blends, roasts, options, and locally made baked goods. Everytime Ive come here, Ive been satisfied with my coffee. Each brew is flavorful and deep, not watered down at all.The staff are also helpful and knowledgeable in case youre ever feeling indecisive for what youre in the mood for that day.
Great coffee and desserts. Very friendly staff. A fun and trendy place. This place is not just for coffee... they make incredible smoothies and have a nice tea selection. This place is pet friendly and you will more than likely see a dog or two there. This is a very popular local spot. Sometimes there have live entertainment.
Small, somewhat cramped coffee shop that makes up for it with its great coffee. Ample time to peruse their selection of local baked goods before placing your order. They roast coffee in-house and their cold brew is a very different for the avid coffee drinker. However, their cold brew is very limited and their method takes all day. Since they only make one batch a day, I recommend you go early before its sold out.
This place was a dog and person friendly place to get a good cup of Joe. Very friendly with a local vibe. Fits right in Terry town which is a great place to chill out in its own right. Grab a quick bite, hook up your computer, or just relax. Did I say I loved the coffee? I do
I do not know what they are doing with their coffee, but this is really amazing. Compared to all the big franchise houses this coffee seems to be made with love and passion. Strong taste, amazing creative compositions, Latte, Cappuccinos and everything inside here makes me want to be there. Pastry is amazing and the service and staff is friendly.
A nice surprise of a coffee shop. Coffee had a nice smooth flavor, but seemed to lack intensity. Would go back and try a few different things, but not necessarily going out of my way to stop in again. We had a skim milk latte and a basic pour over. Everyone there was also very friendly which is always a great way to start a day.
I have been coming to Coffee Labs for quite some time. The coffee is amazing. The beans are amazing to take home as well and grind fresh for your coffee at home or in the office. If you have not been here yet, please stop by and have a coffee and take some home with you as well, you will not regret it. After you try it you will be back. My new favorite is the the oat milk macchiato!
Got a cappuccino, munchie bar, and pound of the coffee that was roasting right out front. The folks behind the bar were very helpful in picking the right coffee and gave some hints on when it would be best to brew up. The cap and snack were fantastic, looking forward to trying the coffee! Highly recommended, give it a try if you’re passing by!
GREAT coffee! The lunch selection is lacking but theyre OK with you bringing in outside food so long as you order a drink. The muffins are good but limited availability and selection. Its a small and comfy space so tables are not always a guarantee. They typically have live music Friday and Saturday. Make sure to ask about their coffee rewards punch card (every 10th drink is free).Service is always nice although its not very quick, especially if theres a line.Overall its a great local spot.
Went up to Westchester to visit a friend and decided to explore a local coffee shop in the Sleepy Hollow town. Came across this coffeeshop on main st and as soon as I stepped in, I could smell freshly ground coffee. I got an oat mocha along with an everything bagel with cream cheese. Their mocha was obviously amazing because of their in-house roasted and ground beans. The bagels were also from a local bakery and the cream cheese was fresh. The staff was super friendly! I was very impressed by their variety in non-dairy milk options - from oat to soy to almond to hemp to macadamia, they had it all. Even more options than I usually find in the city. I would consider this a great find in my coffee exploration journey!
I love coffee, I the kind of person that dont mind to pay a couple of extra bucks for a good, quality, fresh and delicious coffee I dont know how I did not went to Coffee Labs before. The coffee of this place is so fresh that you can see how they grind the coffee. I love how this place smells, and how they do their arts on the mug of the coffee. They also have a nice selection of pastries. The only bad thing is they have the policy cash only or Debit or over 10$.Mark my words, Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks better watch out there is a good coffee place in town.
Service was great, they were a very chipper crew. Great atmosphere. We ordered a small black iced coffee and a small black regular coffee. The regular was a little sour, not the worst. The iced coffee was quite possibly the worst Ive ever tasted. This is coming from someone who doesnt mind a bad coffee, because its still a coffee. This iced coffee tasted like sweaty sour dirt. Thats the best I can describe it. :(
Fantastic coffee, pet friendly and a good place to chat with friends or catch up on email. Their whole beans are out of this world and worth taking home. The care they put into each cup is apparent by the long lines at all hours of the day. Might be the best coffee in Westchester County
Its a real coffee shop! Pour overs, Syphon coffee, Kyoto cold brewed coffee, cold brewed iced coffee, great pastries. Live music Friday and Saturday nights. Award winning espresso. Great coffee selection if you brew at home, and they always get new coffees in. And they roast on location too!
On our recent trip to Tarrytown, we found it strange there were no Starbucks in the area. Looking for an early-afternoon pick up we found this nice little coffee bar that more than did the trick. Its nice to have a cup of coffee that wasnt created by committee, but rather one that was truly made-to-order by coffee fanatics who care. My wife had a nice cup of black coffee - shes a Starbucks girl through and through, yet she couldnt wait to go back to get her morning cup the next day. I had a latte which was smooth and flavorful and didnt taste like a Starbucks ashtray. Staff is super friendly and not afraid to strike up a conversation rather than just take your order. Its a small coffee bar, but its a nice place to take a break with a nice warm cup o joe.
Dog friendly establishment, the Labs is for Labrador Retrievers. Roaster in house is fun to watch, ask Doug the roaster what he is doing he loves to chat and show what he does to make the green beans brown. Smells good too. Lines can get long but the wait is worth it. Good local business, supporting the community for many years.
Love this place. Had gone up from Brooklyn on route to the Great Jack OLantern Blaze. Stopped in for a quick coffee and snack. Ended up staying a few hours. Was mesmarized with the guy roasting the coffee...then taking buckets if it to the basement. Great baked goods too!
Definitely the best and most authentic coffee experience that I have found in Westchester. Not only do they source and roast their own beans, but they provide the full gamut of brewing options. You can order pour-over, syphon, and I believe they recently installed a cold brew tap. There is something truly pure about being able to see the raw beans being delivered outside, on the curb, and to then witness those same beans roasted in plain view of the shop. The quality of their beans is guaranteed the freshest available. The bloom that results from a Coffee Labs pour over is one of the most reactive I have ever seen. My favorite coffee, hands down.
Last time visitor.Lucky to have found an expensive metered spot right at entrance, I went in to buy a coffee and a gnosh. Bathroom was neat and clean. Not crowded but busy shop. I placed my order with the perfunctorily polite staff. My credit card was greeted by an undocumented $10 minimum. I politely added more than what I really wanted. Two $5 biscuits and a $2.10 coffee. Both were good. Not $13 good but good enough. The comestables get three stars but the Tarrytown coffeelab experience made me feel embarrassed to even be there. Like not one of us.
Coffe labs is a place that prides itself on fresh roasted coffee, and baristas that work for more for the coffee than the coffee scene. The product is good enough, better than anywhere else in westchester, but I wouldnt pin it against any 3rd wave NYC coffee giants like Stumptown, Grumpy, or Gimme!. Regardless the service is acceptable, theyre knowledgable and wont beat you to death for confusing a macchiato and a cortado. The food is overpriced, and not too impressive, but thats not why we visit a coffee house now is it?Best coffee in westchester, great if youre in a bind for beans, hours could be better.

2021-12-27A great place to go and experience coffee! You can drink coffee, buy coffee (beans/ground), watch it roasting in the big roaster on display or simply inhale the aroma of fresh beans.I bought two different kinds of coffee here (see photos) and will certainly be coming back once I experiment with grinding and brewing these coffees. Strongly recommend it for all budding coffee enthusiasts.

2021-11-17Honestly one of the best pumpkin-themed coffees I have ever had. It tasted like a melted pumpkin cookie injected with espresso. I’m not usually a fan of very sweet coffees so it’s weird explaining it this way, but it was very very delicious. The atmosphere is very quaint, the art hanging on the walls is for sale and the roaster is actually roasting the coffee in real time. The shop itself is relatively small, but there’s plenty of seating, if actually didn’t feel crowded at all.

2022-05-06Absolutely fantastic coffee, creative coffee drinks, wonderful staff, and a beautiful space. Now that Ive found this place, Ill be regularly driving 30+ minutes (each way) quite happily. Impossible to go wrong with any of their roasts, but the El Salvador Honey is something really special.Update: Not only is the coffee delicious, the baristas make it beautiful with foam art!

2022-01-19I have been coming to coffee labs for years now. I come in to get their amazingly crafted beans. Witchs Brew (for my French Press) is an earthy, spicy coffee with tons of rich notes and a fullness that I have not experienced with any other coffee. For my wife we get Rock-it-Dawg ground for drip. Just an all over achiever, perfect for mornings that need a little extra self love. Anything that you get from here will be amazing, and you will thank yourself for the experience later.

2021-09-26Showed up and they were closed for a few days, would recommend calling ahead to confirm they’re open. Went back and the guy at the register was amazing, friendly, helped me pick out a couple pounds of beans for my chemex and espresso setups at home. I also got a fantastic cappuccino and espresso while I was there. The colombian lactic is magical. The roaster guy was a bit rude, honestly, but was very friendly with the white guy behind me. /shrug I love that they roast it right there in the shop though!

2022-05-06Coffee labs is legendary god status. F a chic white walled cafe serving counter culture w/ 4 ounce spro shots. For real this team IMO is a large part if why 3rd wave coffee exists in the greater metropolitan area. From sourcing, roasting, pouring and overall ambiance coffee labs has created something special. Thanks for setting an example and bringing consistent top tier quality. My only suggestion is to implement an education program to retailers you’re wholesaling to. Anyone serving your delicious beans professionally should do so professionally. Legends!!!

2022-03-08This is the best place to sit down and enjoy your coffee and afternoon. Its warm and charming, with friendly staff, and a regular stream of visitors from around town, giving it a natural, local vibe. The drinks are delicious and creative, and the food is excellent. Would highly recommend.
