I dont recommend this place. i did the filling the first time, he does not make it even so i had my muscles jaw hurting for 2 weeks, when i came he never apologize for his mistake and do it even faster than last time. two months it fall off again. he always rushing. never go again to this place.

They say they are open for emergencies...i have severe pain in my molar, they tell me to come in take my xrays then tell me they have to refer me to someone who could take my molar out...ITS AN EMERGENCY!!!! WHY ARE THEY EVEN OPEN IF THEY CANT DO OT THEMSELVES....

There’s no one that supervises this place , because there’s no other explanation. I was trying to schedule a cleaning today ,the receptionist (Milla) she would put me on hold and forget about me for 15min every time I called and then she would hang up because I asked to speak with the supervisor. I spent 3 hours to schedule a cleaning and she still didn’t make it happen. Now she won’t even answer the phone.

One of the best dentist visits I ever had! I recently went to Cohens Gentle Dental for the first time and was extremely happy with my visit. From the enthusiastic and caring staff to the knowledgeable and patient dentist I saw, it made going to the dentist actually enjoyable for once. I went to this clinic and the truth I have no complaints, on the contrary everything was exceptional, the girls from the front have a very organized agenda, the best of all is that they do not jump patients, dental assistants are very friendly and patient at the time of taking the x-rays, the dr is the best has a lot of patience when explaining the treatment to be performed besides being very conscious, in another order the place is very clean, calm and organized. I would definitely recommend this place.

The surgeon himself is a good guy as well as the manager , but that lady at the front desk so unprofessional , perhaps she should find another job. i wish they left me in Fordham waaay better service.
I give this guy a one star but he deserves zero nothing. This guy is the worst professional I have ever seen in my entire life. He is so gross, has no manner whatsoever and treats his patients as if they were asking for favors or something like that. That would be the last person I recommend. A mad dog and this man are the same thing. So do not go and see this guy or you will regret you did.

Dr. Kevan Hosseini is extremely thorough and professional. He was able to see me in a timely manner and help me feel at ease about all of my concerns. His staff are kind, patient and personable. Dr. Kevan is extremely dedicated to being fully present for his patients no matter what and notably dedicated to taking care of patient needs every step of the way. His bedside manner is outstanding and he is gentle around sensitive areas during dental procedures and lets nervous patients like myself know what he is doing before he does it when it comes to exploring sensitive areas on the gums; he made it so easy for me to express any concerns I had about dental related matters. I highly recommend him to any prospective patients particularly if you have a mild fear of dental procedures; he is the best! I can honestly say that I eagerly anticipate my return to his office for my follow-up soon because I experienced such a validating and comfortable interaction under his care!

This place is a complete SCAM! i went in with my husband to with extreme tooth pain ! they told me to call my health care provider to change my primary dentist office to their and to tell my health care provider that i need an emergency 24 hour visit so they can get paid for my visit. i had to them am i going to get work done because i am really in bad pain the receptionist had told me YES that i would have to switch my dental office to theirs so i did i called my health provider and did the switch me and my husband did. 2 other patients came in and she told them the same thing a little over 20 minutes i got called they did x-rays and i ask the lady what my x-ray was look like she told me oh no you need some work done i was so relieved thinking yes finally im going to get this tooth out then when the DR came in he goes to tell me that the work i need will cost me 500$ because i need a root canal ! i dont need a ROOT CANAL i just have a chipped tooth with PAIN ! he goes to say i need to go to montifore hospital to get it removed ! this DENTIST IS A COMPLETE SCAM ! they told my husband the same exact thing ! ALL THEY WANNA DO IS CHARGE FOR WORK YOU DONT NEED DONE ! another lady left furious because they took X-rays and didnt do no work after they did her X-RAYS TOO ! instead of them telling you from the beginning they cant do no work they would have u sit theirs and do what they tell u to do thinking they going to help you and after u do they dont do anything but change your health care provider $500 for x-rays! this PLACE IS A SCAM THEY TAKE X-RAYS ON EVERYONE JUST SO THEY CAN GET PID FOR EACH PERSON THAT GOES IN THERE AND TELL EVERYONE THEY NEED A ROOT CANAL **WARNING** **WARNING** COHEN GENTLE DENTAL IS A SCAM !!!!!

Ok with cleaning but lacking in other services. I feel like Im getting the run around. The dentist started a root canal and could not complete it and sent me elsewhere. I was referred to a specialist they are connected to that did not take my insurance who wanted to charge $1,500 for root canal work. I was shocked that I was referred there because that was an illogical referral seeing that I have decent dental insurance and they have other options who take my insurance. Also at my first visit, the new dentist pushing for me to get porcelain for my crowns with much talk about loans left me feeling uneasy. The work the other dentist started (root canal), the following visit, weakened my tooth which needed a redo of a root canal; however it was sturdier before he attempted anything. He stopped midway saying he didnt have the equipment to keep going because it was calcified. What little he did do - drilling and such weakened it more and caused it even more susceptible to cracking at the root. I ate something and it cracked the tooth at the root. I called and told the receptionist the tooth they started working on cracked before I could get to the specialist and so it needed to be pulled. Unfortunately, instead of stating I would still need to see the oral surgeon, they had me come in just to take another xray and send me elsewhere. I waited an entire week when I could have all that time just walked into the oral surgron previously. So now I wasted money on cabs going to and from them, left still with a loose tooth - not pulled, no pain meds, and hoping my insurance company would not be charged since someone else has to do all the work the dentist on hand I saw twice cant do. He can just look in my mouth and tell allllll that needs to be done of course and offer other expensive things beyond what my insurance covers, with talk of high loans to get fancy things that my insurance covers just not the most expensive. I am not in the habit of giving bad reviews; however, this needs to be shared. Please gentle dental get updated equipment and dentists who can do common (a calcified tooth- as the dentist called it) and more intricate work - so you dont have to let patients wait so long to see the dentist on Friday for root canals and keep sending people out for common work. Im looking for a dental provider that can service better. I struggle going to dentists, finally got up the nerve, and now a month of my time has been wasted going there. Now I have an unfinished root canal, a cracked tooth, and an infection. This experience hurt me.

I am the biggest baby when it comes to getting my teeth clean or just a simple xray. the dentist here is phenomenal. I will follow his practice wherever he goes. the dentist Mr. Kevan is professional and has great knowledge a out dentistry. Ive learned more about taking care of my teeth and various options all because I feel he generally cares about saving and replacing his patients teeth! He is now my family dentist and I also referred him to a few of my coworkers and friends! its in the name Gentle Dental...take it from me....He means it.
The place is a dump, the xray room is a small black chair and the mouth piece they use both on adults and children , my daughter said it hurt her mouth. And there was like one guy jumping from room to room, rushing between patients, was the worst service I received for me and my children.
Yesterday was my second visit to Cohens Gentle Dental and honestly this is my new favorite dentist. The staff is super chill and on point, his assistant is very sweet and she made sure I was comfortable both visits, and most importantly the dentist is FAST! I went for a deep clean the first time and yesterday were my fillings which he did an outstanding, painless job on. He even told me I could have my coffee right after LOL definitely a great experience and I will be having my mom go to him as well.
A porcelain crown is $1000 where @COLUMBIA WOULD be $600 buyer beware they are rude on the phone and no one needs to feel disrespected !!
If i can rate this half a star i would the most horrible dentist i ever been to in my life the staff are nasty, I paid 1000 to get a crown done it still isnt complete after 7 months and when the manager Ronny Ambalu stated he will give my refund he DIDNT and now they gave me an infection in the tooth they left a temporary crown on for 7 months and now i am in need of a root canal. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE they will ruin your mouth your better off looking the other way. Worst service I ever experienced !

On my first visit, Dr. Cohen was the Dr. Who attended me. That was in May. Routine check up/cleaning. He said everything was ok and that my teeth were in great shape. About a month later I go back with a horrible toothache and another set of x-rays were taken. I told them a peice of tooth fell out while i was flossing and I think I have a cavity. This time it was another Dr. (Dont recall his name). He said nothing was wrong and I just had inflamed gums. I go back a third time now in October, no new x-rays are taken. They decide to look at the x-rays that were taken on my second visit. All of a sudden I have a deep cavity and need a root canal. This frustrates me because this could have been addressed back in May when I first visited Dr. Cohens office. Even the second time with a second pair of eyes. And still no one caught it. This was my experience. You decide whats right for you.
Dr Cohen was very professional and gentle in my experience. I came in for a root canal. I was extremely scared and nervous, Dr Cohen assured me that everything will be ok. He didnt rush anything. He calmed me down and explained the procedure to me. I am so happy I chose Dr Cohen. I didnt feel a thing and the recovery was smooth as well. I will defiantly come back to Dr Cohen as well as refer him to all of my friends and family. He is friendly and caring and takes his time with his patients . I highly recommend him.

Ofer Cohen himself was verbally abusive to my mother who is 73 years old. GET OUT OF MY CHAIR!!! he screamed at an elderly woman. It would not have occurred if a family member were present. He took advantage of an elderly patient by asking for $1,500 for a procedure and never delivering the product. He caused a 73 year old woman with mobility issues to return to his office 4/5 times for corrections and adjustments. Then, frustrated by the constant poor workmanship, returns to the office, unable to chew and eat food correctly and without pain and bleeding from rubbing against her gums, she questioned him about why this is not resolved as any sane and intelligent paying customer would. Ofer lost it and began screaming at my mother in her face within inches. She said she still feels his hot breathe on her forehead as she sat in his chair. Imagine how horrific the experience and how nasty he must have been for my mother to hide this from me for a year. She feared more for me than for him she said. She only shared this with me recently as she knows how protective I am of her. Her experience in his office on 231st was truly traumatizing and it is today that I write this review AND fill out a New York State Complaint form for Professional Discipline and one for the Better Business Bureau. I suggest that anyone with a serious complaint of fraudulent billing, abusive behavior, and more from this guy should definitely follow up. Unprofessional behavior and sub standard work should not go unpunished and if the complaints continue, we should organize with the different community boards to have Ofer Cohen removed from our communities collectively. If you are taking advantage of the elderly, abusing the elderly, providing sub standard service and verbally abusing them when they question your work then you are the worst of the worst and have no place in our communities. Ofer Cohen, you must write a letter of apology to my mother. And I will follow up with the proper authorities and channels until you do. Her last name is Sterrett, Im sure she is the only patient you have with that last name. I will be posting this to each and every one of your offices so people are aware of your terrible, opportunistic, unprofessional behavior. Anyone who wishes to contact me, I can show you pics of the poor work his office did and the original letter written by my mother days after that she never mailed. You are a rotten human being Ofer Cohen. You know most elderly people are too afraid to complain or dont feel comfortable with the Internet to even think about posting a complaint. I want people to think about how many other vulnerable people you may have taken advantage of. How many more elderly or immigrants have you taken advantage of????

2022-04-11Haven’t been to this dentist office for a while. They called me to make an appointment, I said good what do you have available, I agree with the date they did not ask me what kind of insurance do I have., For me I believe is protocol to ask the patient what kind of insurance they have or ask the question if the person has the same coverage. After I waited for twenty minutes they called me to the front desk and asked me if I still have my old insurance. Really front desk person? When you called could you ask me when if I was insured by my old one? Time wasted.

2022-08-02I spent close to $8000. Approximately 4.5 years ago. One by one the veneers place fell off. I tried to contact off and schedule an appointment and Noone picksup the phone .$8000.I received a call from a representative. Rude and condescending. Calmed I did not visit a dentist in a timely fashion. The records will show I visited their other site as well. No apologies just called to say he did not approve of my review.

2020-03-13They are bad people here, they schedule you for appointments and cancel once you in the office No curtesy calls or nothing, I had the worst experience ever. They treat people here like your are less than a person here. The receptionist was very rude. Might want to try another dental office.

2022-02-15Well, I didnt actually get to see the doctor. Heres what happened. I made an appointment a couple of weeks in advance. I specifically called the White Plains Road location. Spoke with someone who asked for my insurance. At first they said, they didnt take it, but when asked me more info on the insurance, indicated to me that they DO take it. Took the day off, went to the appointment, filled out a bunch of a paperwork just to be told, they dont take the insurance and havent for 3 YEARS. . . .why would I be told this after and not in advance. They said to take the paperwork and go to the Fordham location. Whats the point? I said, nope. Ill find another doctor and stormed out. I could have been at work or could have found another doctor. Whoever booked the appointment, could have double-checked. Ive researched how bad Cohens can be, and willing to put up with it If the doc is good, but this was insane. This was a horrible experience. I stormed out of the office as upset as I was. If you make an appointment to any of their locations, I suggest to force the front desk personnel to triple check if they take your insurance before going or you may end up taking a day off from work for no reason.

2021-10-20Dentist was great and fast. My rating is based on the rude front desk woman that didn’t check my insurance when I checked in. She had an old card on file with the same insurance company and I haven’t been there in a long time due to covid therefore it didn’t cross my mind to remind her of her job to check my insurance card like all my other doctor offices do when I check in. Due to that, I lost my spot in line and someone went before me that had a later appointment. She was not polite at all when it was her mistake and her job. If it wasn’t for the doctor doing a great job, I would leave to another dentist due to the front desk.

2021-09-07When I went here for a cleaning by a dental assistant she actually chipped a front tooth. I wish I had before and after pictures so that I could’ve sued them. I also remember the time this place was giving away gift cards for writing a “good review” so I wouldn’t trust all the positive reviews here. The last time I went here I was seeing Dr. Ofer Cohen who was not very nice to me regarding the condition of my teeth and refused to help me fix the issue. Instead, he wrote me a useless referral without a doctor or place to go to. It just stated what he thought was wrong with my teeth. Very unprofessional and dishonest. And, the condition he thought I had, other dentists I’ve seen told me that his assessment was false and inaccurate. DO NOT GO HERE.

2021-06-08Im very glad i found this place! Clean and professional environment, the dentists and nurses are very patient and careful. Most dentists know people have dental anxieties but these people here? They understand. They talk to you, they help fet you through the process as quickly and as gently as possible. Highly recommend giving these nice people a call if you or your children need to see a dentist

2022-01-20Well kept office hospitality was extremely amazing and front desk Somayra was very attentive and respectful I asked and she was very polite to answer the Dr we’re very nice will come back I RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE IN WHITE PLAINS BX NY TO ANYONE
