Colleys Pools & Spas - Hamburg in other cities:
After spending thousands of dollars with this company over the last 10 years, I called for service today. I was told by the nice lady on the phone that they couldnt service me because I didnt buy my pool from them. Jokes on them. Part of the reason I wanted them out was to look at a complete pool replacement. Your poor service just cost you 50k - 75k
I sat down with every pool place in the area and not one could touch this company!!! From the sales rep that came out all the way through the install and beyond the place oozes professionalism. Just excellent work through and through. If you go anywhere else for anything pool related buy yourself lots of aspirin for all the headaches you can expect trust me.
We had a salesman come to our home to give us a quote for a new pool. I have never met a more ARROGANT, OBNOXIOUS Rude salesman in my life. He told us if we did not expect to spend over 200k he would not be able to help us. We should just go with the other companies, because they sell lesser quality another words junk compared to colleysHe bad mouth all the other companies and proceed to tell us he picks what pools get installed. Because of the high demand of pools he can pick what customer gets their pool first and obviously if u have a 500k to a million dollar pool u are going to get your pool first.I was stunned at this mans behavior. Why would anyone go with a company like this, to be treated so poorly. I called the other companies Beauty Pools and Glamour pools and they came out they were respectful and gracious. They did not bad mouth colley pools, which showed they dont need to bad mouth other companies to sell their pools. If this is the service you get before you buy the product just think of the service when the pool is in😱
We were having issues keeping our hot tub balanced and could not find a solution. After months of trying to resolve it on our own to no avail, we decided to turn to Colleys, even though we did not purchase the tub from them.We were asked to bring a sample of the water in, and after a quick test, they were able to tell me exactly what to do to resolve the situation. They also provided specific instructions and quantities to keep everything balanced.Based on my experience with them, I would highly recommend their services to anyone with hot tub issues and will be purchasing any future spas from them.
I have truly never experienced better customer service from any retailer out there. I purchased a Marquis Vector 21 Hot tub from them and they were beyond pleasant and accommodating throughout the entire process. The sales manager who sold us our hot tub is Linda M. Linda was welcoming and friendly from the moment we stepped foot into the store. She showed us our options and took her time explaining the tub features and customizations. Linda worked with us on holding the tub while we applied for a loan through our bank, which took a little longer than expected. The entire process was seamless from the sale at the store to the delivery at our home. Even the delivery workers were kind and courteous (something pretty rare these days!) 10/10 would highly recommend colleys to anyone looking for quality service and products. Customers for life right here!
Among other things, buying a hot tub at the Erie Country Fair was on my girlfriends and mines to do list. We go every year, stand in front of them and then just walk away. THIS WAS OUR YEAR! We went to a few other tents from other companies, one didnt acknowledge our existence, the other did put forth some great effort for us, but we just werent sold yet.We walked into Colleys tent and was immediately greeted by whom turned out to be the store manager, Charles. He was friendly. Down to earth, and he immediately earned our trust. We asked him countless questions, that Im sure hed been asked 100 times in that same hour, but he was eager to provide us with the information we needed. Helped us select the best model he felt met our needs. No up selling. Just recommendations. Which was nice. We wanted to stay within a budget, and get the most out of it.We left with everything we needed to know. Wanted the night, to make the decision. He was not pushy, and didnt try to make the sale right there and then. Discussing our experience with a co - worker, she mentioned that her mom also worked a this location. So I reached out to her as well. Lynda was just as helpful and made us feel very comfortable with moving forward with our purchase! WE HAVE ZERO REGRETS! The whole experience from start to finish was great, professional, and easy going. Right down to the delivery of our tub. The two gentleman that delivered our new investment were friendly and funny. Answered all of our questions and were super fast! About a week later we had our hot tub all wired and set up. Not being familiar, Charles offered to come over and just do a quick run through with us to make sure we knew what we were doing.Just a great experience all the way around. Great price. Great Service. great people, that actually cared about us past the point of sale. You dont get that very often anymore nowadays.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!THANKS AGAIN CHARLES AND LYNDA!!!!!!!!!
Have the most beautiful pool (18x36 vinyl) 3 years running. Installation went almost flawlessly, with minor issues (who doesnt) that they corrected right away. Had an issue with the LED light not working correctly. They sent customer service crew out and it was replaced with Colley coverage. My favorite part is the circ system. Only have to brush my pool, have yet to vacuum it!
Looking to purchase an in ground pool? Colleys Pools & Spas is the place to go! A wide variety of pool sizes and shapes to choose from at a great value! Want to swim year round? Consider having the pool enclosed.Dream Builders, also of Hamburg, will build a beautiful addition to your home for your Colley pool. Dream Big❣
Very disappointed! We thought we would be so happy to have found someone to service our hot tub. We had a leak. The tech came out to address it & suggested that it was a specific gasket seal. At his recommendation, he tightened the gasket to see if that fixed the problem. If not, he said, he would return WITHOUT a second service fee to replace the gasket. He did NOT give any time limits. Since it did not fix the problem we had him come back. We were indeed charged again ($115)! Also, we were told we waited too long. Ironically, a fair amount of the lag time was waiting for their tech to have time in his schedule. If he had not recommended it we simply would have replaced the $2 gasket the first time he was there! Total SCAM!
After my husband had a stroke, we needed to add a railing to our pool so he could get in and out. The pool was part of his therapy to regain use of his left side. We contacted the pool company who had installed the pool and requested the service. That was in March. After many attempts to get the railing installed, I finally realized I would have to go elsewhere. I contacted Colleys and a wonderful woman named Kathy assisted me. Within two weeks, the railing was installed even with all the rainy weather. This company went out of their way to help us and did an excellent job with the installation. Thank you very much.
We have been long term customers of Colley’s having purchased both an above ground and an in ground pool and we have always had them do the openings and closings. Yesterday Karl, and his helper, were both pleasant and professional even with the delay getting the power going, which Karl acomplished and the phantom basket for the skimmer. I must say our pool has never looked better the day after opening and I can’t say enough how pleased we are. Thanks to both of you!
I Purchased a automatic pool cleaner and I am happy with the product but their sales associate insisted there was a rebate on the product made sure i had all appropriate paperwork for the rebate and when i called to apply for the rebate they advised me that does not apply to the product that was purchased would of been nice if the the associate was knowledgeable about the rebates instead of using it as a sale pitch to buy it
If I could give a negative star rating I would. We purchased an inground vinyl liner pool this year (just installed), and it has been the absolute worse experience of my life.Weve been lied to, stood up multiple times for appointments without any contact, contacted 5 minutes before appointments to cancel, or told theyd be an hour or more later. Several parts have come up missing. Our pump failed the very first time they turned it on. Weve spent thousands more dollars due to their incompetence. Our calls and emails are not returned for days/weeks. Their receptionist Cheryl refused to provide contact information for Scott Coley (owner/GM). when the pool was originally dug and installed (a couple weeks ago), the crew left garbage, rocks, and cardboard all over our yard, and inside the pool and spa!I would never recommend this company to anyone!
These people are useless. I Bought a spa from them and was having some issues. I called to ask a few questions and the lady who answered the phone would not let me speak to anyone in service. I asked if someone could call me she said no to try back in a few days. She was very rude and disrespectful gave me the impression she didn’t want to deal with me. So if you want a company that stands behind there products look elsewhere.
Bought a Dream spa from Colleys in Hamburg, NY. After a couple years and while it was still under warranty it developed a split on the bottom. Cooleys refused to take any responsibility to help and said it was because they no longer carried the Dream Spa Line. We were instructed to contact the maker of the spa. That we did by phone and by email. We even emailed them the video. I am totally disgusted as that was my only goto when I was in chemo. Over 3,500 dollars and we basically had to scrap it! To tired to fight it but will never deal with Cooleys after that.
The store staff can be great but I find them inconsistent. Some know their stuff and are helpful. Others make things up when they dont know. Tried a service contract for our pool because Im often out of town, but the technician makes a lot of mistakes and doesnt use proper chemical levels or thoroughly clean. Often leaves the wrong receipt, and thus week our pool turned green just days after he noted everything was fine and no adjustments needed.
Colleys installed my new pool liner but ordered one that was too small for my inground pool. Now every year the liner comes out of the casing. I was told they would reset it for free but now they charged me $125 for a service call without telling me there was a cost upfront. I would not recommend that anyone do business with this overpriced and underserviced company.
I can not justify giving Colleys Pools anything more than the lowest possible rating. I give the techs five stars. They are professional and honest. They get the job done quickly. But this review is not for the techs. Its for Colleys Pools & Spas who just three summers after installing a vinyl liner in my inground pool were called back out to fix a 4-inch section of the liner that had come unsecured from the coping.I had to wait six weeks for the appointment. I directed them to the pool as soon as they arrived and went inside to boil some water in a pot as they had asked me to do (to heat the liner so that it could be stretched). I put the pot on the stove and went back outside two minutes later as the techs were walking back from the pool. They said they didnt need the water and that the job was done. They didnt use tools, just their hands. The tech said he wasnt sure about charging for the service and I said I had thought it was covered under warranty. He called his boss John Kibler, who told him the two minute repair to the liner they had installed three summers ago was NOT covered and that they were to charge me for the service call. The tech said there was nothing he he could do about it and that his boss (John Kibler) had told him to do whatever he had to do to get paid. I wrote Colleys Pools and Spas a check in the amount of $119.63, and regretted ever doing business with such a petty company.
Horrible Opening pool for 5 years straight, we purchased our inground gunite pool from colleys and ever year it took many weeks to clear due to various blunders caused by tech. Parts dropped in pool which plugged bottom drain which I discovered after swimming down and removed drain. Year after year of problem after problem. Pool leaked for five years and thousands upon thousands of gallons of water. I bought the pool from Scott colley felling confident I would get good service, not so. Early on during warranty period I pointed out to Scott colley a sandy material at bottom he assured me it was caused by chemicals in pool, I thought it was odd but trusted him at that point. Last year I was cleaning scale near water feature which I thought was normal and discovered hollowing behind tiles. After tapping on tiles found 2 or 3 square feet off tile hollowed behind. This is the source of the sandy material at bottom of pool. The pool wall or water feature must have a leak Ive not yet torn into. Since I had years of leak problem this issue went un noticed. After calling Colleys out to see the problem Scott refused to return calls and offer solution.

2022-06-24We purchased The Harmony 18’x54” round above ground pool. The process of purchasing the pool was painless!! Delivery of the pool came on time and everyone was wonderful to deal with from start to finish. My pool installers said this pool was extremely installer friendly, they were very impressed with how easy it went up! Colley’s for the win!

2022-06-24Horrible!! Had inground pool installed in 2021, constant issues with saltwater generator not working. Reopened pool this year and was charged $357 for opening. Mind you, we were told that pool openings and closings were covered for 3 years. Not true! Technicians and office staff said everyone thinks that! Iwonder why? Because we are told that. Concrete cracked and chipped after not even a year, and after calling and complaining for 3 months, most they could do is reseal it. It looks horrible!! Had an issue with chlorine not producing, made service call and was charged $157 since it isnt covered due to an issue not being mechanical fault. Was never told or explained this about warranty and service calls. This is a very dishonest and shady company. I would go with Designer Pools if I were you.

2022-05-14I bought a house that had a hot tub with it. Having no idea how to take proper care of my spa I called and had the full cleaning/spa school and chemicals with it. Tech was very informative and patient with all my questions and concerns. Now my friends and family can enjoy the spa safely. Thanks!

2021-08-18UPDATE: ignore the nice response you see from the owner. They have done nothing to “make it right.” Admittedly, they did refund the $160 but that was for chemicals they were supposed to supply us with from the beginning. And, as has happened throughout, they blamed us for not telling the worker at the store that the pool had just been installed. Except, we did.Still no word about fixing the lawn, which is damaged 28’ feet from the edge of the pool and well into the neighboring lot.UPDATE #2: They installed the plumbing lines over the property line, which won’t pass inspection. They were told this over a month ago when we hit one of the lines while digging for the fence posts. Of course, they blamed us, even though we followed the measurements on the drawing that they submitted to the town for our permit. Only after several emails have they finally come out to check on their error.UPDATE #3 - we ordered a hook and loop winter cover but they claim that we didn’t. I asked for a copy of the sales contract, which we never received, and they sent a copy of an excel spreadsheet with our order specs. No signatures or way to confirm.UPDATE #4 - Colley’s claims that the amount of damage to our lawn and the adjacent lot is “normal.” Keep in mind, there’s equivalent damage on the lawn on the far side of the pool as well that needs to be fixed. The estimate to fix the damage is over $2000.Pressured to put down an $8000 deposit in order to secure our installation spot only to have them reschedule 3 times. They came out and started out pool and then didn’t come back for 4 days because they went to work on someone else’s pool. Finally got it installs and the water has been cloudy ever since. Brought them a water sample today and they charged us $160 to fix it.EDIT: Also, check out how they left my lawn. They said it’s my responsibility to fix the damage they caused.$52,000 and they they couldn’t even make sure it was right before they left.I don’t recommend them at all.

2022-06-21I was having an issue with my pool heater. My tech Scott E. came out and explained the whole repair process to me. A short time later, my pool heater was working like new.

2021-05-30Opened the pool and the heater wasnt firing. Called to have a technician come out and they were scheduling into middle of June. Carrie asked what was wrong, told her it wasnt firing. She said if youre somewhat handy I could do it myself. They had the part and walked me through it. Took 30 minutes for me to install. Heater working great!

2021-08-18ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING SERVICE!I cant believe any of these other reviews about poor customer service to be true. I have had noting but outstanding service from them and they have always been very friendly and helpful. We bought our house on Oct. 8, 2015. The previous home owner never closed it as the weather that year was beautiful! We have never had a pool before. With the moving we totally forgot about getting the pool closed. Colleys was the first phone call, and simply by default of alphabetical order. The lady who answered the phone said they were done closing pools for the year. I was almost Halloween. Before we hung up she asked for our address to see if we were in their computer. We were. They installed the pool and did all the work on it over the years. She even got us a pool closing for the beginning on November. She saved the day for sure! :)We have had the pump replaced four years ago, a new, upgraded liner three years ago, a new filter this year, and a new heater scheduled for next year. Our pool is 21 years old. All equipment was original and we were expecting to upgrade in this time frame anyway.Yesterday I went out to the pool because the pump was not running. The timer was ticking, but the pump was not running. I found the pump itself to be hot to the touch. Assuming the pump was bad, I called Colleys right away. The service department was closed but the lady on the phone said that someone in parts may be able to help me. Bob, the parts manager could not have been more helpful! He helped me take the pump apart and diagnose the problem over the phone. It turned out to be a bad capacitor. I went to Colleys and bought one for $28. I knew the price before I got there. I could have bought one much cheaper through my HVAC supply house, but I gladly gave the business to Colleys. After all they helped me again!Colleys has ALWAYS been upfront about cost an has never gone over budget or estimate. They have always been on time, very friendly, and very professional. If people do not like the price, or it does not fit their budget then they need to go elsewhere. As a business owner, I fully understand how much money is needed to maintain a solid, reliable business. The cheapest guy is not always the best.I look forward to many more years of business with Colleys!
