This place is close to my heart and I have been going here since I was a child. Great for a relaxing stay by the Mohawk River to think, or to rent a pavilion and hold a family reunion. Colonie town park has wooded nature trails, tennis courts, a pool, a playground, picnic tables, and a fantastic view of the river! Great place to watch sunsets. Highly recommend.
This lovely park at the edge of the Mohawk River is a good halfway point on the Mohawk Hudson Hike Bike Trail, which starts in Albany along the Hudson River and ends up about 40 miles west in Schenectady. Although with some planning you can travel further to the Erie Canal Trail and eventually end up in Buffalo.

2021-10-31One of my favorite trails. Always well maintained and a beautiful view of the trees, also easily accessible with several different parking areas. Different parts of the park go over to the river with a playground, covered picnic areas and even a covered bridge to walk or drive thru. I walk here almost daily! Love it!

2021-04-10There are several parking lots for this trail, always giving the user access to different sections of the trail for more varieties of experiences on the trail. Many sections of the trail have new pavement, and some new drainage work. Picture is from early/mid march 2021.

2021-04-03The trail is almost always open and never too crowded. During the summer the trees along the trail provide great shade. For a biking, running, or just walking this is definitely the place to go.

2020-09-11It is a great park for mtb. Although, there is a bit of confusion whether if the trail marks are acurate cuz I got out the line few times. With a better trail guides it will be more fun.
