I got 3 bids for this job and I was hoping that Colony would come in with the best bid because they were so professional from the get go. And I was lucky that Colony did have the best price! They were a pleasure to work with and their installers were terrific. I will definitely recommend them to my friends and neighbors.
We are happy to have chosen Colony Fence for our needs. There was never a frustration working with Ruben and his team. He was always responsive and courteous and made sure that everyone was clear on all details of the project before any work began. The price was fair and the work was completed on schedule. His team has even returned to adjust a gate two years later with no issue. Working with Colony Fence has been a good experience.

Ruben and his Colony Fence team came and fixed a previously installed fence that no one else could seem to fix and then we used him to install a vinyl fence later on and the fence is installed well and is very nice looking. I would highly recommend.
We needed a fence on our house before we moved in because of our two large dogs who are are children and we would never want them running away. So, we had it put up before even moved into the property with Colony. Reuben, the owner of the business, is a man of his word. His quality was perfect, and when the ground settled and the gate did not line up, he came back twice to fix it until it did. And, he was very reasonable about an extension to the fence a year later. We are happy with his work.

Colony Fence did a spectacular job constructing our cedar privacy fence. We hired Ruben and his team when we first bought our house. By chance I saw an advertisement for Colony Fence. I called them and within 3 days my railings were installed. They were quick, efficient, clean and did a great job. Every company should be like Colony Fence. The owner, Ruben, is a first class gentleman and a first class tradesman. He comes when he says he is coming and his staff is fast and accurate and they are fairly priced. Even when a customer has an issue they come back immediately and make it right!
Did several jobs for me over the course of 5 years from fencing in the front to fencing in the back and to the side of the driveway. Overall, very professional, responsive, respectful and diligent. They worked fast and cleaned up after their work very well. The pricing is fair and Ruben, the owner is reachable all the time. They did such a great job that my neighbor had them do their fencing as well. Great job overall.
The price from Colony was just slightly higher than the lowest price I was quoted, but I went with Colony, because Ruben was very easy to work with and I was comfortable that I would get what I wanted. Once we had worked out the details and settled on a price, there were no extra charges. Ruben was patient, listened to what I wanted and worked with me to figure out the least expensive way to get what I wanted. He installed a removable post, so I could remove two fence panels for occasion vehicle access instead of double large gates. A side note, gates are pricey, but of course you dont want to add them later, so my advice is give some serious thought to how many and where you want gates. I have a decent size yard, so I chose vinyl for the front and chain link for the sides and back. I got the permahedge inserts for the chain link for privacy. It adds to the price, but is still less than vinyl and last a very long time. The fence was installed last year and I am very happy with my choices and certainly the job Colony performed. The work was completed as agreed. The workers were hard working, friendly and cleaned up each day before they left. I would definitely recommend Colony and use them again.
Trust the review that states the owner is rude. And add unprofessional. I made 2 appointments back to back for 2 different homes. They agreed when scheduling. LUISA showed up for the 12:30 at approximately 12:10 pm I mention we will then go to the 2nd house. She states No I have another appointment right near hear so the other appointment is mow 1:30 Really you tell me this now? I like many work from home. She did not care. But I agreed to the new appointment time that they did not tell me about at all. Wonderful. At 1:25 I call Luisa to say I am leaving and will be there in 10 miniutes. At 1:36 she calls & states: I AM AT THE OTHER HOUSE. YOUR APPOINTMENT WAS 1:30. I CANT WAIT ALL DAY FOR YOU. CALL THE OFFICE & MAKE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT! Is she kidding - who would make another appoinment with a company that does not honor your time and changes the appointment WITHOUT asking you first. Luisa just assumes she can make your schedule.Bottom line - there are other fence companies. Trust the rude owner review and go elswhere.Note: Reliable Fence is excellent & they give you a 15% discount for using Google to find them. And no attitude!
My experience with Colony Fence, and Ruben especially, was great.I needed a fence and a few railings installed on a house I recently purchased. Ruben came to the house promptly, took the time to really explain the options, provided me with a pamphlet to review, and gave me a quotation on the spot. He even came back to show me the physical product and how it would look to make sure I fully understood and would be happy with the results.It took a few weeks to order the materials, as promised, and then I was contacted to schedule the installation. On the day of the installation, the team arrived on time and Ruben was also there to make sure everyone understood to work involved. The work was completed in 1 day, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. I’d definitely use Colony Fence again, and enthusiastically recommend them!

Reuben can at his appointment time and gave a quote in writing. He was very responsive. As I needed a building permit he sent me the documents the town needed and on time. The quote was a super price. The two guys who came to do the job were hard working and meticulous and did a great job. I could not be happier with my fence and with colony.

I had 400 ft of 5ft high black chain link fence installed on my property. Ruben came and gave me some great advice for the installation and was able to give me an estimate before he left. They put up a vinyl fence for my backyard including a metal retaining wall. They did a great job and after a storm damaged a piece of the fence they came back and fixed. Very friendly and reliable company.

They did work for us at the landing on Mohegan lake. They were responsive , professional, and did exceptional work. We needed a repair of an exterior fence that was damaged by and auto accident. Job was completed to our total satisfaction. I highly recommend Colony fence.
So I wish I could say that this review was for the fence, but the person that I worked with was so terrible I couldn’t even try to move forward. They came for an estimate. I told them I wanted separate estimates for 3 small jobs. I walked around with the person (Raf) and outlined everything. He did what he needed and then let me know he was done and expect a quote soon. Got the quote and it was for 1 total job. I sent him a message stating that I needed it broken down like I asked. He says yes, no problem. Never heard back. Then 2 months later he sends me a message asking if I wanted to move forward with the quote. Terrible service.
Excellent workmanship, fair pricing. After four years of installation, some panels came loose due to cedar aging and were repaired free of charge. Highly recommend them.
Last year Ruben and his crew installed two fences for me, and did a super job. The workers were professional, prompt, hardworking, and left the area much neater than when they first came. Ruben was able to design a fence where the fence line included two trees, and an awkward corner next to the house. It all looks great, and I intend to have Colony come back this year to add more fencing. I highly recommend Colony Fence.
Rubens guys did a great job installing about 250 feet of traditional white picket fence. Did the whole job in three days (replacing an existing fence). They even went around and touched up all spots where the paint had gotten a little dinged during installation. Id definitely recommend.
I didn’t know anything about fences but I bought a big job from these guys and thankfully, they did amazing work! They paid attention to the details, like an even sight line, which is refreshing and makes all the difference when the fence defines the boundary of a property. I didn’t realize the importance of a clean sight line and the work Colony Fence did is beautiful and even! All the folks on the job genuinely cared about their work. Installed a gate for me that was about 10 X 12 where welding, concrete work and painting were involved. Men did an excellent job. This is the third time I used Colony Fence in the last two years. You wont find a better fence company, Rueben and his crew are really professional.

Colony installed black chain link fencing around most of our back yard in 2013. Prompt, neat, quick and clean. Beautiful job. In 2015, after a neighbor skidded on ice through our picket fence, Colony replaced the stretch of picket fencing, and an additional area so it would all match. STAY AWAY!Complete fraud!The owner, Ruben , came to my house to give me a quote. I never committed to the job and decided to hold off because of Covid 19.Two days ago, and one month after the quote, he starts sending me texts at 7 AM that he needs a $1,000 deposit immediately or he will sell all the materials he bought for my job! But I never agreed to do the job! He simply needed cash that day.He texted me for an hour threatening me.It was a cash shakedown !
DO NOT WORK WITH. This company is run by an incredibly unprofessional and rude owner. I came as a very eager customer based on the reviews I read, and requested an appointment for them to visit my house and measure the property. I requested a time during my workday that I had a 1 hour window of a break. The time comes and goes, and I have to check in with them if they are on their way. They only then let me know that they were running close to 45 minutes behind. I wasnt able to wait that long because my break ended, so they told me when they could come later that same day, and I cleared another hour later of work to meet them. They AGAIN tell me theyre going to be 45 minutes late. I let them know I was having second thoughts if this is the way they conduct business -- if they cant show up on time to basically the sales pitch for doing business with them, Im not willing to wager that theyd be reliable as a crew on this project. The communication I had with the business owner was mind-blowingly rude on top of everything.
The fence installation was well done. Although after the fact there was an issue with the newly installed fence messing up parts of my sprinkler system, the company acknowledged their error and covered the repair costs.

Great job with the suggestion of the black chain link fence. It Disappears into our wooded backyard. The mini mesh keeps the kids from climbing & the gates are toddler proof.Installation was done in a timely manner and they did a good job cleaning up the shrubbery which was included in the quoted price. We did some shopping around and the price still came out to be the lowest. I would easily recommend them to do a friends fencing job.Thank you.

2020-11-25Though it was initially difficult to get in contact with Colony Fence because they are busy, Reuben and his team are 100% worth the wait. Reuben and Louise were incredibly helpful in assisting me with selection of fence materials, and provided great information about height, gates and lock options. Once our supplies arrived, Colony Fence installed our 1/2 acre property fence (a combination of decorative aluminum and chain link) beautifully within a mere 2 days. The quality of the materials and work are second to none. Do not hesitate to do business with Colony Fence. You will not be disappointed with the end result!

Where other places wanted 4-6 weeks just to come measure and give an estimate, Ruben came right out to do all that. He was very polite, professional, on time, and emailed a written quote within the hour. He got the fence a week earlier then expected and had his employees at my home on the day he said would be there and were on time. They were very neat and professional as well. Why pay extra at the GIANT places that are crooks, when you can get better quality fencing at a more reasonable price with better quality results guarantee.
