The employees are wonderful and helpful, the place is always stocked, and there’s wine tastings all the time. They also deliver 👌

Love it! So convenient and quick, they have their own app you can download to eliminate the 3rd party apps and additional costs. Delivery is fast and efficient and they have a great selection. They are very hands on, I ordered something that wasn’t in stock and I received a person call with a recommendation that was similarly priced. It was great. Excellent customer service!
My favorite wine shop ever. Customer service is fantastic and the wine and spirits selection is out of this world.
Very friendly service, and conveniently located. Best wine selection in Washington Heights. However, the wine is incredibly overpriced. A bottle of rosé I frequently buy is $25 here, and $18 at a nearby liquor store. My go-to prosecco is $20 here and $12 elsewhere. Today, I went here to buy a bottle of Chianti, and there was a bottle of Ruffino Chianti Classico Riserva for $45 that I saw at another nearby liquor store for $25. I think I will have to stop shopping here given the high prices, unless I really need something that other local liquor stores wont have.
I’ve ordered from here fairly regularly and have received friendly service and almost always on-time deliveries. Maybe once or twice they were running a bit late, but called to let me know.I’ve found the staff to be very friendly, and their order minimum is reasonable plus they don’t charge a delivery fee like some other liquor and wine stores.I do wish they offered mixers as well.

Local wine shop with a great selection, good prices, a rewards program, and helpful staff. They also have a plentiful liquor selection as well, and you can order delivery from their website. Its too damn convenient.
This place had a great selection of wines and we walked in to a surprise wine and rum tasting which was nice after the long day I had. However, at check out the cashier talked me into buying a second bottle of wine that I didnt really want using the promise of an extra 20% off. Turns out that discount was only for the first bottle I bought (which was $9.99) not the entire bill. I felt a little swindled and thought the cashier was a bit pushy.
Great place with a wonderful wine selection. The only reason it didnt get five stars is because its a bit pricey and even if you work at Columbia they only discount wines and nothing else.. otherwise...Great place and great service!
Good selection of wines and cheap/decent prices. They have a table in the middle of the store thats usually full of reduced price wines. These rotate every week. The shopping experience is pretty easy due to the wines being categorized by region. If youre into mixing drinks, they dont have much of a selection in bitters or liquor.
This place used to be amazing. We loved their former staff and wine selection. Since the change of management there are fewer discount to already overpriced wines. Also often wines are mislabeled. They only offer consistent discounts to Columbia Presbyterian. The new staff and management could improve their costumer service. We now buy our wines downtown at a lower price with way better and friendly costumer service. Shop here if you wanna pay more for less.
This place is amazing! Monica is an absolute genius when it comes to her product and makes shopping here a BLAST. I don’t think I’ve ever (truly, ever) used “fun” as a way to describe a store or shopping experience, especially at a wine and spirits store but, IT MORE THAN APPLIES HERE. Monica is dope and this store is super dope. Love to see Black Women winning. 💪🏾
Im a Columbia University employee, and use Columbia Wine for all our events. Huge selection of quality wines.The app is fantastic and makes ordering so easy, plus able to earn rewards for discounts off future purchases. Delivery is always prompt, and a lifesaver!
The staff is knowledgeable as far as that goes. They price gouge on items that should otherwise be inexpensive, and if you search around youll start to feel taken advantage of. Their wine selection is mediocre at best--missing most of what I was looking for (instead I was directed to several lackluster wines that a quick Google search proved to be a bad deal).There are hundreds, of better options in the city, and much better quality within a few block radius.
I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 7 years and watched this store transform into the fantastic wine distributor it is today.First, there is a staff member named Conrad who is SUPER knowledgeable about wine. I literally tell him the kind of flavor I wish to enjoy (i.e. sweet with a touch of spice OR a dry white wine I can enjoy drinking and cook with) Not once has he made a recommendation that I have not thoroughly enjoyed.Second, I enjoy the % off wines after purchasing 10 bottles. I always treat myself to a pricer bottle knowing I’m still saving.Third, I appreciate the wine AND Spirits selection!! Hallelujah! Usually a wine store is stocked in wine but lacking in Spirits. But here you can find a little bit of everything and even order something that you don’t see in stock.Fourth, they offer a great little app AND they deliver in the neighborhood!! Which is helpful when you’re planning a party and want to focus on food prep. They have bubbly and white wine chilled for you if you’re in a rush, and the app keeps track of your purchases so you can reference them for future.Clearly I believe they are a great addition to the community of Washington Heights and raising the standards of wine appreciation with wine tastings throughout the year.A visit here will NOT disappoint the senses. 💕
We used to love this place. However, their delivery has always been very slow and inconsistent which wasn’t an issue until recently. We ordered a delivery and after 2 hours, we received a phone call from the deliveryman that he was almost here but was lost. We confirmed where we were located and buzzed him into our building. After not hearing him arrive to our door, we went to look but couldn’t find him so we called and came to realize he delivered our purchase to someone who approached him at the front. Obviously, they would have realized this was not the correct buyer if they asked for ID as the women who took the alcohol was not in fact a male (the buyer). Not only is it illegal to give alcohol to someone who is not verified to be over 21, but when we reported the issue, they accused us of fraud. We were long term customers before this incident and it is highly disrespectful to get this treatment. They continued to ignore our calls to see how we can fix it. Long story short, don’t get delivery from them and we are still waiting for a refund.
This is a small place, but they emphasize quality over selection - regardless of price point. Theyve got great recommendations on wine, rum, and whiskey, and Ive never been unhappy trying something new from here. And its all pretty cheap!
Ordered online and confirmed order. But when I get to the store they decide to charge double the price. Don’t waste your time with this store. There are so many better options for wines and liquors. Way over priced and not wroth the trip.
Okay place for their less expensive selection. However I’ve been burned on their more expensive wines, they don’t seem to know how to choose good bottles in the $20-60 price range. I’ve purchased several at this price point and we have been consistently disappointed.
This place is superb. They have a great collection of wines, amari, liquors and spirits. The guys at the desk are not just shopkeepers, they are alcohol experts, who can suggest you in the wine selection process, and overall they are really nice and talkative. Oh, and Columbia University discount applies (still, without it, bottles are not so expensive).
Very knowledgeable. The prices are on the higher side but they offer wine promotions when you buy multiple bottles. If you are a Columbia student or employee there is a 10% discount.
They took care of me! I got hit by a guy skateboarding very quickly/recklessly right outside the storefront, breaking the bottle of wine i had just bought. When i came back in to buy a new one, the employees kindly comforted me, gave me a chance to collect myself, and gave me a replacement bottle of wine. Thank you, staff of Columbia Wine Co.! Staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. For this area of NYC, the selection is impressive, with competitive pricing compared to downtown stores. The only noteworthy liquor store in this area! Regular wine and liquor tastings shake it up! The Go-To wine store in the area!
Great selection, normal prices. The sale table is a good deal, but dont expect to find any bottles her under 6$ even with the discount. Also delivers through your preffered app.
One of the very best wine seller in The Heights. A vast selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff with an easily accessible selection. Staff is always ready to answer questions and helpful in finding what you want. Conveniently located next door to a flower shop, but more importantly - Dunkin Donuts. DONUTS!
Very good neighborhood winery. They have many different choices of wines, whiskeys, rums, tequila etc. Also the prices are quite affordable. Did I metion that they deliver in the neighborhood as well.
Great selection of wine, however, bad, bad service! Some of the cashiers are clever and use sarcasm to be racist. Extremely disrespectful! As a medical professional I will not tolerate this behavior and will alert all of my colleagues and friends of the shocking treatment given to the native and original people of Washington Heights.

The wine prices are extremely above market value. It’s almost robbery at this point. I paid damn near 15$ for a wine I found online for 8.
I dont recommend this store because before you enter the store you are going to be harrrased by crack head mental people asking for money literally. Also the delivery guy takes a long time. I highly recommend the liquor store on 162 street and saint Nicholas ave. They have every liquor and wine you can think of and they deliver to you less than 15 minutes
This is a great place if you like paying $4 a bottle more than you should. I can get Joel Gott cabernet sauvignon for $15-$19 at most wine stores in Manhattan. But its $22 here. Dr. Loosen riesling usually sells for $12-$13, but its $16(!) here. On average, this place seems to charge 20-25% more than other wine stores in Manhattan. It seems to do a lot of business, so Im not sure why. I generally go to the wine store at Broadway & 175th now. Better prices & good selection there.
Great selection of wine! Wine I dont see in most top wine stores! Extremely friendly and welcoming staff each and every time I go. :) many could/should learn from these guys on edict!
One of the friendliest staffs ever. Umberto and Vic are very knowledgeable in their wines and they always got my Balls vodka. The best store in the neighborhood for wine or spirits.
Good selection of wine and reasonably priced. The staff is also friendly and pretty knowledgeable. It is also located within 2 blocks from the 168 st subway station and New York Presbyterian-Columbia hospital.
Everyone was really friendly and welcoming and the girls behind the counter as well as who I believed was the owner helped me pick out a bottle of wine after a particularly bad night. They were right on the wine of course, but next time I’m in the area I’m definitely going to get some more from them!
How absurd is it to wait over 2 hours for 2 bottles of wine from a store 5 blocks away. Home from work dinner cooked no wine. Called 3 times and it’s the same every time “we’re backed up, it’s on the way”. NOT OK!
I went for my first time, i wasnt sure what would be a good wine for me that is semi sweet since im very picky but I wanted to try something new. I met this gentleman Alex at the cashier he recommended me a merlot wine and i thank him so much, that is one of my favorite now.
Prices are high but the store is nice. Didnt have my I.D. on me and they wouldnt sell me wine. Im a professional, almost 40 years old and clearly not a teenager. Really poor service! They said they would have to deliver it to me so that they could check my I.D. Ridiculous.

We live in the area and this is our preferred liquor and wine spot. The service is always friendly and knowledgeable. Selection is diverse and well priced. They also have delivery!

A bit overpriced, but I understand they are going for a particular crowd in Washington Heights. I like the variety of Whiskey they have on stock.

2022-04-17*I’m editing my previous review of 1 star and bringing it up to 4 stars. Columbia was nice enough to reach out regarding my dissatisfaction with their service and attempted to ameliorate the situation. I will give them another chance to earn 5 stars.I’ve been ordering from Columbia for sometime. I think they have a decent selection and I don’t care so much that their prices are a little high. I like the staff well enough. However, they have GOT TO GET THEIR DELIVERY SITUATION UNDER CONTROL. I’ve been dealing with slow deliveries for a while, but tonight my delivery was took 2.5 hours! I had dozed off waiting for it and when I went to inquire the status, they were CLOSED. I started to leave this one star review due to what I thought was a non-delivery situation. But I’m going to leave it because of just years of chronic delivery problems!

2022-07-22You would think a store that closes at 10 PM would be open until 10 PM. This is not the first time I have tried to enter close to closing and they have already “closed the register.” Absolutely ridiculous. Am I crazy for thinking that I would be able to make a purchase up to the listed closing time?

2022-03-21Should have written a review long time ago but the Employee in here was rude when i asked for a drink. Instead of him saying my apologies we dont have that specific drink in here, would you like some suggestions? He responds in a very rude way saying cant you see this is a wine store?! we dont have it here, go to rite aid ! I dont know his name but hes tan and prob Hispanic. My dad was going to pay cash and he gave him a look saying hes not doing cash just card. Wish we got attended by the other employee. Whoever the owner is you should teach this guy how to attend customers :)
