Positive: Rooms were big Negative: Housekeeping refused to give me an extra towel- only put 3 in room and 4 of us were in room. At breakfast, woman refused to let us get our own food- would only allow me one juice, one cup of yogurt and one bowl of cereal to split between myself and 2 kids
My wife and I have stayed here a couple of times over the past year. As far as location goes for us it’s really convenient and easy to get to. The first rice is also right for the location. Something changed though with the service over the past couple of months. It seemed like the owners were skimping on things during our last trip. The breakfast even though Covid restrictions were lifted was still cold prepackaged food. There was no water or juice out and the rooms were in worse shape than they had been in the past. Our first stay was really great even though the rooms were a little old and out dated we felt comfortable and welcome. The past 2 trips not so much. I would still recommend this hotel just because of location and price but don’t expect top notch service and amenities any more.
Manager was very rude. My mother is a hospital patient, waiting for a transplant. Hotel refused cash. (Which I stayed a week in December and they accepted cash... no problem with the way room was left... etc.) Manager was heartless and told us to go elsewhere! Why deny business!? Isnt cash worth anything anymore!?
The hotel helped out family during a two month period when our house was being built. The staff was top notch and very friendly. We wish them well and appreciate everything they did for us. We were a family of 4 with 2 little kids and they were always accommodating and warm. Thanks again. The hotel was also extremely clean and the cleaning staff did a great job and was extremely professional .
Our handicap accessible room was very nicely decorated and functional. The motel is located far enough off the road to be very quiet while close to the entrance of the Parkway. There are restaurants within walking distance. All of the staff was very polite and helpful, especially Linda at the front desk, who was especially helpful and compassionate regarding our medical circumstances.
It came highly rated which may been true at it’s prime but was in need of a major update and facelift. If need to get into city not a great location as train pickup sketchy. Rooms not a bad size but amenities in only fair to poor condition. At issue: poor mattresses, ac difficult to control, intermittent internet, many light bulbs needed replacing, phone problems, ants to name a few. On the good side: manager excellent, free parking, cleaning staff good but even they could not improve the overall tired look of the facility.
DO NOT STAY HERE! I called before making my reservation for the pool area and was told we can swim early but the room may not be available. We got there at 11:30 and the last told us we were told wrong info. The lady Linda at the front desk was just unfriendly and rude period. She didn’t like we had our own towels for the pool area and she didn’t like I had my bag with me. The hotel stinks of smoke the rooms and the hallways. The pool had Bugs in it on the bottom and on top. Tried to speak to management and did not get a reply and my Dallas refuses to speak with me about getting a refund after deciding after an hour to not stay at this hotel!! Priceline called this hotel so I can get my refund but my falls general manager is refusing because this hotel is desperate for money!! Needs a major upgrade and a lot of elderly was on the property! I’ve read reviews of this hotel not getting refunds due to employee mistakes and it seems this is normal for this company!! After an hr I called Priceline and tried to speak with the front desk for a resolution. I finally decided to leave since ms Dallas told customer relations she will get in at 7pm but that was a lie. Not only am I going to involve my bank I’m going to higher then corporate this company is a rip off! Doesn’t even smell good when you walk in !!!!
The room was quite spacious and was pretty clean. I had requested the quietest room possible but was given a highway facing room in which we could hear a great deal of traffic early in the a.m. Also, the check out took much longer than it should have due to some unexpected fee that was apparently not covered by my hotel.com purchase. It was less than $5 and I was told that it must be paid in cash only. I had never experienced this before and thought it both time consuming and very weird in the lack of transparency.
Everything was perfect. Kind and helpful employees; clean, comfortable, quiet room, safe. Applebees in walking distance across the parking lot. As a place to come back to after spending 4 days visiting husband in hospital, it was wonderful. And convenient, only a couple of miles to Westchester Medical Center. I would not change a thing, and would return again if I needed overnight accommodations. Would recommend this hotel to any travelers.
Decent hotel but not for handicapped. Overpriced. I am wheelchair bound an put on the second floor. In case of fire the elevators don’t work. You can wheel out an exit on the side but can only get about 5 feet from the building. Also, there is no way I could get over the side of the tub.
I tried to book the room as an essential worker for a school district very close the hotel. When I did the manager stated there was no discount for essential workers, which I was a little surprised to hear. Not even a small amount off. So I booked the room at full price, when I arrived the room smelled of old cigarette smoke, even though the room was a non-smoking room. I called down to the front desk and asked about another room possibly that didnt stink. I was told sorry no rooms available maybe someone in a adjacent room was smoking. A little odd since all the rooms around me were non smoking. So I was stuck in a room that smelled really bad like smoke. The woman was not very nice when I had this issue she was very dismissive. I am required to be at the school during all bad weather conditions, and I travel to work so I will be staying in hotels during these times. To be honest I dont see myself using this location again based on what I experienced the first time.I expected a better experience especially since I believe our board members utilize this hotel also when they need a hotel for a night.
This was an enjoyable if necessary stay. Didn’t have to fight to get a good temperature in the room. It was easy to operate the Tv! But the best part was good lighting in the bathroom. A woman could actually see to put makeup on. A huge plus was the magnifying mirror. Some real pluses in addition to a clean room and an efficient check in staff.
Friendly service, makes things right when wrong. seemed a bit high priced for the aged feel of the rooms. peeling wallpaper and some water stains of ceiling. if you like really hard beds, this hotel is for you. bed wasnt quite right for me. its in the executive area so mostly quiet at night. otherwise an unmemorable stay in a long trip of business stays at hotels
Our trip was cancelled due to Hurricane Henri, after a state of emergency was declared. The hotel won’t cancel the booking or provide a credit. They have chosen to strictly enforce their 48- hour cancellation policy and have said they are going to keep the money. What an awful company and a brutal way to treat customers. This location is owned by Choice Hotels. I’ll never make another booking at one of their hotels.
Hotel was clean. Great heat. Everyone had masked. They had remote wrapped in plastic and they left the bill under the door so you can just leave.Great variety of food nearby. They have a continental breakfast because of Covid. You tell the server what you want and they bag up for you right there. Its just cold cereal, wrapped pastries because of Covid. I have stayed here several times. Great access to highway 287 and Saw Mill.
The hotel staff seem to have interest other than your comfort or convenience in terms of front desk or room selection. The pool looked nice in online pictures (one reason I selected this hotel over another), but wasnt able to use it as a single business traveler due to hotel policy. The housekeeping staff always left room neat and the staff at breakfast seemed to keep food items stocked. The OJ from the machine was actually pretty good. Rooms are spacious, if dated. The TV is smallish but has a guide you can use like at home. Despite some drawbacks I can recommend the hotel for the room spaciousness and housekeeping as clean place to stay for those doing business nearby if you accept it for what it is.
We only stayed for a night after a long day of travel. This hotel had in my opinion all the necessities for a traveler. I traveled with my young son and was please to have a separate sink, fridge and microwave in my room at my full disposal. I was able to thoroughly wash and sanitize his things. The beds were very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was too. The staff greeted us warmly and helped us when we needed a few forgotten items. Wonderful stay and I will be returning!!
Well on this particular night a drink person ran into the plumbing system located at applebees and the water for the hotel was shut off. I only stayed 1 night so it was bad for me. No shower and I had an event to go to that day. When the water came on for 5 minutes it was brown. The manager didnt have the best attitude which was due to everyone complaining and the owner wanting him to handle everything. Everyone was issued a 10% refund and had to evacuate the hotel. It was just unfortunate more couldnt be done. I wouldve accepted a complimentary nights stay. Some people profits over people.
I came to the hotel for a getaway weekend, to have fun in the area. The staff was extremely helpful letting us know where to go and how to get there. The rooms was large, clean and had everything I needed, fridge and microwave. The room was cool when I checked in because the cleaning staff put the fan/air conditioner on prior to my arrival, so it was pleasant right away. The bedding was comfortable, clean and there were plenty of pillows, both soft and firm to choose from, which was great.Overall, my group had a wonderful time, at the hotel, the kids went in the pool and the grown ups got to talk without constant interruptions.
Nice large rooms with comfy queen beds and extra bar sink and fridge in the room. More spacious than most rooms with countertop space for toiletries and luggage especially for 3 of us in the room. Rugs are dated and a little too worn but otherwise fine. Clean. Breakfast was buffet average hotel buffet and grateful to have it and the fresh fruit.
It was nice, clean, and spacious. The guy at the front desk was very helpful every time we talked to him, but when he assured us the black out curtains would be fixed, it never happened. The black out curtains in the kids fold out couch area didnt get fixed and so we had badly rested little ones which did not help them fare well. There was one outstandingly nice lady, Jackie, I think, who helped with breakfast, and one other ladt that was downright rude. Other than those issues, the hotel is nice and clean and we would stay there again. Very nice to have a fridge and large/deep sink in the room outside of the bathroom.
This hotel is a great facility. Ive stayed here several times in the past. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is acceptable, not the greatest but not bad. The housekeeping staff all greeted you with a smile whenever they saw you. The shower in the bathroom are clean with plenty of soft towels. The beds are very comfortable with a choice of soft, medium and firm pillows. Great internet signal. Definitely worth the price.
I stayed at this hotel for a couple of weeks and I was extremely pleased with our stay. Ive never experience a more accommodating and warm hotel staff, everyone from management to housekeeping were so nice here. The beds are comfortable, rooms are big, and the bathrooms are very nice. Its a typical Comfort Inn but one thats on the nicer side and really well managed and staffed. The rooms and hotel are very clean. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was the internet but thats the same at pretty much every hotel, and management was even accommodating to improve that for us. We did not use the pool so I cant comment on that.
The staff was friendly & helpful. Our check-in was quick, the woman at the front desk was very welcoming and funny. We had a great trip, the hotel was close enough to what we had planned so no wasted time traveling. Everything was comfy and clean- even the air filter in the ac/air unit (yes I check things like that!). The wifi was my only complaint and that was easy to deal with, you just might not be able to stream video. Not a huge deal. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
My wife and I chose this hotel because it was closest to the hospital, where a relative was staying, but were pleased with the quality for price. Room was very large and clean. Beds were clean and comfortable, though mattress was slightly firmer than we like. Parking was easy and internet worked well. Hot breakfast included cheese omelet and sausage, and was very good overall, but not great. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Overall, it exceeded expectations.
The pool was very nice. The shower was warm. The bed was very comfy. The pillows were weird at first because they were folded up but all your had to do was untuck them. The breakfast was great except there were no potatoes. The one big problem was that there was no ventilation in the bathroom. They had enough towels in the bathroom. When we needed more shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom they have us plenty. Overall the place was great.
My family has stayed here while I had my heart transplant at Westchester Medical. Since then I have stayed here during my followup visits. I must say that my experience with this hotel has been excellent. My wife felt safe staying here, the hotel is very clean which I need, and the team members are excellent. Check in and out was easy, breakfast was good (might suggest that it should open at 6:30 instead of 7 am) and the room spacious and comfortable. I will be staying here many more times and I know that each time will be a good experience due to the dedication of the entire hotel staff.
This was our first stay at this location. I was so impressed with the cleanliness EVERYWHERE. From the lobby to our room, spotless. Even though the property is a bit dated, they obviously take great pride in their work. The staff was super friendly as well. We will be staying there again next April for my sons wedding and it is nice to know looking ahead we will have a wonderful place to stay!
I have been returning to this hotel for years. the rooms are clean the beds very comfortable. the location is beautiful. they have a good gym facility and are located next to a gym. this is a very stable hotel with employees that are here for numerous years. the overall location is great with access to major roadways for ease of transportation, close to airport. just overall great!
Great value, good location. Continental breakfast was convenient and appreciated. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The computer system was down when we checked in, however the staff were courteous and professional throughout the entirety of our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel based on sheer value alone. It is difficult to find quality accomodations this close to NYC without breaking the bank. Thank you, Comfort Inn for a enjoyable experience!
My wife and I recently stayed at the Comfort Inn in Hawthorne, NY. We were up on vacation, getting ready for my high school reunion. The staff from the moment we entered to the time we left were fantastic. Always willing to help, suggest places to eat, where to buy certain items, etc. A great staff makes you feel more welcome. Everyone from the cleaning staff to kitchen, always said hello and good morning. Its that kind of personal touch thats genuine and not forced, that makes a hotel great. The building, grounds, amenities were all very well maintained. In the end, Id recommend this hotel to anyone either passing through or in need of rediscovering good customer service.
Excellent service and attention to customer satisfaction. We felt very safe and relaxed during our overnight stay. The beds were very comfortable...with the exception of the strange choice of the small square pillows. These were somewhat difficult to use as sleeping pillows. Maybe if they were slightly larger, theyd have been more comfortable. Overall, a very good value for the price and the location.
Very nice. Very accommodating and hospital staff. Feels like southern hospitality but I am in New York! Beds smell nice and clean nice new blankets and sheets. Rooms are very nicely furnished. This should be listed as at least a 4 star hotel. Way better than 2 stars.....
For a budget hotel, I would say its very good. I had a great experience. The staff was more helpful than I was expecting, The breakfast was good enough although we had to take the food to our room because all the tables were busy. But thats not their fault. The bed was made nicely and everything was clean. I wish we had time to use the pool but we couldnt.I have only one complaint. We stayed from Friday to Sunday and the person who cleaned our room on saturday while we were out, didnt took away all the trash. There was still some garbage and used towels in our room when we came back. But Im not gonna take a star from the review because of that, because the experience was very positive. Next time I visit the area I will definently consider staying here again.
We stayed for a year and a half while our fire damaged home was repaired. We therefore had a chance to experience the hotel under most conditions. The staff was wonderful. They were courteous, cheerful, helpful and these characteristics never wavered over the time we stayed. The room was comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, well laid out and furnished. The room was always kept clean and neat. The heating and air conditioning system never failed and always maintained comfort whether it was hot or cold outside. There were no breakdowns of air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, or TV. The inevitable light bulb failure was promptly taken care of. The breakfast was always pleasant. Service, comfort, cleanliness, food variety were always top notch. Although we do not swim, the pool was still a nice place to lounge when the weather was too severe for the patio, which was another nice touch. When it snowed, the parking lot was promptly shoveled. The grounds have plenty of grass, bushes, trees and flowers and are always well kept. Holiday decorations were cheerful and much appreciated. Again, the staff were all wonderful to us and made us feel at home.
Stayed overnight during the Halloween season. Was about a ten minute drive to Sleepy Hollow. Room was very comfortable and bigger than I expected. The staff was very friendly and helpful, everyone of them. The free breakfast had a lot of variety. The indoor pool was very clean and heated. I would stay here again and would definitely recommend to others.
I mistakenly booked the room for my wife and stepdaughter twice. I was not aware of this until they arrived. While this clearly was a mistake, I was billed twice, and it was made clear no flexibility would be offered. I was very disappointed in your hotels unwillingness to make an exception to be customer focused.
This is our favorite hotel in the NYC/CT area -- easy location and super comfortable. It is very well-run by people who obviously care to keep it that way. The staff at the front desk are always welcoming and helpful. The rooms are always in great condition and we especially like the guest business center. It is quiet, in its own room separated by glass doors (to keep out kids who just want to play games) and well-equipped -- great for catching up on work while on the road. We always stay here when we are in the area.
I was very pleased with this hotel. I liked the location as it was close to the train station for easy access to NYC. It was also very close to the Rockefeller Preserve which had many miles worth of trails for running and walking. The room was bigger than I expected with a seating area, microwave and fridge. I loved that the diner and Applebees were both right outside the door. I didnt check out the gym in the hotel or the one next door but thought it was great to have access to both. The hotel and room were very clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the free breakfast which had many hot and cold choices.Overall, I was really impressed and would definitely stay here again and again.
I chose this hotel because of its positive reviews and proximity to Westchester Medical Center. I spent 4 nights here while a family member was in the hospital. The hotel was perfect - very comfortable, lots of amenities, convenient location. The maintenance crew was excellent at clearing the parking lot after a snow/sleet storm. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I am totally satisfied. Breakfast was limited but there were generous quantities and food tasted good. I missed having a full restaurant but there is a diner and an applebees right near by.
The room was clean and neat. It was quiet. If my stay had not started with meeting Carolyn it would have been near perfect. Carolyn was rude, mean, and downright awful. Because I walked in at the same time two other women did she accused me of having two other people in my room even though they had a separate reservation!! I went to the hotel at 2:00 to get a room, I gave her my information and credit card and after she put the hold on my card she told me I couldn’t have it until 4:00!!! I had been dropped off and had to call them back to get me and then find a ride back again at 4:00!! Honestly!! Two hours was going to break the hotel!! I tried to explain that I had spent the last 6 nights at the hospital and was exhausted, I needed to sleep and shower but no, I still had to wait 2 hours for the check in time. Really??? She answered two phone calls while waiting on me and honestly if I had been those people I would have hung up and found another hotel. She has no personality no people skills and obviously doesn’t like her job!
We have stayed at this hotel many times and return because of the convenient location to where we need to go. The front desk staff was not as friendly and welcoming as we have experienced in the past, but when we checked out, we enjoyed the pleasant staff that we had come to expect. The breakfast staff should be a little more personable, but overall the breakfast food was satisfactory. Although our room was very clean, it is showing signs of wear.
Enjoyed our stay ; we received a warm greeting from desk clerks. The hotel was close to local venues, easily accessible to major roads yet quiet. Our room was spacious, clean ; the pool area was nice except it closed at 8 and reopened at 10am. I would have loved to have coffee outside in the morning.
My husband and I have stayed here many times. We stay in the king suite. It is a nice size room and always clean. All of the people who work here are very friendly and accommodating and their self serve breakfast is decent as well. We Continue to stay here and recommend other friends to stay here as well because of all the above reasons!
The hotel staff was lovely. Check in was quick and easy. They gave me a bottle of water to take to my room which was a nice touch. I had a horrible experience at the Extended Stay a few miles away and was so thankful this hotel had a room for me, and I was able to change hotels last min. & late at night. The hotel was clean, just very out dated, which doesn’t bother me too much. They also had a nice size parking lot which was much nicer than the grungy, dark garage parking with a broken elevator that I experienced at the Extended Stay. I will have to come back on business & would definitely recommend this hotel.
This was our 3rd stay at this property. We booked a large block of rooms for a wedding. Wendy, the booking manager was very helpful and more than patient with us through out the process. When the wedding weekend arrived, check in left a lot to be desired. One particular woman at the front desk was rude to several people in our party on more than one occasion. The hotel is aging a bit but is very clean and comfortable overall. Our room was spotless. It happened to be an unexpectedly warm day, and several guests complained that the A/C was working. We had a 2 room suite. 1 A/C unit was great, the other blew room temp air. The gentleman working the desk on Sunday was delightful and thanked us profusely for staying with them. Would we stay there again? Yes. Do they need to address a few issues? Yes.
The Comfort Inn and Suites in Hawthorne staff is well prepared to welcoming their guests by being respectful, kind, considerate and supportive in meeting guest needs. In addition, their health protocols do align with protecting the public health and the cleanliness within this environment helps in ensuring guests are treated with care and respect.
The hotel is beautiful. The staff met us on arrival with friendliness and were helpful. The room was beautiful. I appreciate the easy chairs for relaxation. The bed was firm and easy to sleep. We enjoyed the continental breakfast. It is always nice to make fresh waffles.
Everything here was up to expectations, besides the wifi. It cut in and out on my iPad/iPhone, and didnt work on my pc. Other than that, the staff was amazing, the room was very clean with well working appliances. Breakfast here is reasonable, with both quick options when people are on the go, and some basic hot items (eggs, sausage patties, waffles) for people who have time to sit. However, for the location and the services provided, I felt the price was a bit high. Its not like the hotel is all that close to trains or public transport, or near any sort of main attraction. I recommend reserving a room early to get the discount to alleviate the price a bit.
My husband and I drive for 5 hours to get to NYC for a hospital appointment and came the day before so we could rest. This hotel was a bright spot in our trip. The room (accessible) was large enough to allow my husbands scooter to move around in it. Parking was easy and convenient. There were 2 wonderful places to eat across the parking lot from the hotel with easy access for the scooter so we didnt have to stress on finding a place for lunch or dinner.Would definitely use this hotel for any future trips and will recommend friends and family stay here also. Thanks for a great stay.
Easy to find, pleasant staff, room was clean, bed sheet reveal was spotless (see the pics). The pool is available for no added fee. Bathroom was also clean. Free breakfast made the morning departure easier with the kids. The laundry room was clean but with no coin machine. Stairwells are at either end of the building, no stairs available by the main entrance, only an elevator. All things considered, we will return with only one hope; cleaner carpets.
Upon arrival and before entering, there was music outside which was very nice. Entering I found the clerk busy with a customer who really didnt care how many people were waiting and just kept asking the same question over and over. The clerk handled the situation very nicely and apologized for the long wait. At first I thought this was a new hotel only to find out the next day it is over 20 years old. We were on the second floor and when I overlooked to the lobby, I could see a nice chandelier hanging at my eye level and noticed there was not a speck of dust on it. Our room was wonderful and was made up with care. There was no wear on the room or fixtures. The bed was comfortable which gave us a good nights sleep. Our breakfast was once again well organized and the area was clean. The day manager came around to all the guests in the dining room and asked how our stay was and was there anything she could do for us.
Man, was I glad I found this place! Room was fantastic. Best bed I slept on. The whole room was fresh and clean. The 3 nights we stayed, our linens were fresh, new towels every day. Drawback was the shower head. Has settings for 4 different sprays but none of them worked but the normal one. Why have spent that kind of money if you dont have working equipment? Should I ever be in that area again, Im booking my next stay there.
The hotel and its employees were very nice, however, someone was smoking in our non-smoking hall. We smelled it as soon as we got off the elevator. Later we had smoke smell coming in through our bathroom vent. By the time we realized it was not just a stale smoke smell, we were ready for bed and did not take the front desks offer to move us to another room. We also thought at first that it might be a problem with the entire ventilation system, as there are smoking rooms down another hallway, but we eventually decided that it must have been another guest in a nearby room, probably right next door. The clerk at check-out said the cleaning staff wold be able to tell and that the rude guest would be charged a fee. I hope so. Other than that, the room was spacious and the beds comfortable. It would be nice if the shower had the kind of shower curtain bar that bows out to give the feel of more space, and the furniture was a little worn. On the other hand, the room seemed cleaner than most hotels of this level. I dropped something on the floor under the desk and was aware of how the rug did not have errant crumbs or dust bunnies in obscure places.
Im usually a tough critique however I loved my stay at this hotel. Not sure of the young lady who checked me in at 12 at night on 10-30-15 but she was a sweetheart and made me laugh a lot. She knew I worked at a Hotel in Connecticut because I had an employee discount and she jokingly said ok your non smoking king bed is ready when she knew I wanted a non smoking double. After my experience with excellent customer service I was very pleased with how nice these rooms were, simply beautiful. Highly recommend.
Great value with clean, well equipped rooms [Micro, coffee maker and frig. Easy to access from highway when traveling from NYC North. When heading south, bring hotel directions as exit is on opposite side of highway [this keeps the price low -- so worth it]. We did not have breakfast at the hotel as we were on the road very early to reach our destination in the city. The breakfast room was clean and everything smelled great.
I only stayed overnight. Checked in very late and checked out early.I was very pleased with the room. Very clean and updated, very roomy. The beds were extremely comfortable, with lots of pillows. Free wi-fi, flat screen TV. Bathroom was updated and clean, unfortunately the shower pressure wasnt that great, but accomplished the job.I would not hesitate to stay again. A great bargain for the price!
Very clean, spacious rooms, enough to accomodate family of 4 or 3-4 adults. clean pool area. generous breakfast selection for a continental breakfast. great diner in next parking lot & wonderful Italian restaurant at bottom of the hill. great location to stay to tour Kykuit & surrounding area. easy access to highway but not noisy at all, even with the windows open all night! we would definitely return.
There were other hotels in the area of a higher star rating for a lower price, however I was attending a conference at this hotel so chose to pay more for convenience. The hotel was clean, my room was clean, the staff was friendly. Breakfast was what you would expect, nothing fancy, but not bad either. The bed was not the most comfortable though the staff were nice about providing extra pillows. Our first night the shower head was broken and they it took them a minute to find a replacement, but not a big deal it was fixed. My husband went with and had planned to use the pool while I was at the conference, for whatever reason the hotel doesnt allow anyone to swim alone, so he didnt get to do that and that was probably the biggest downfall for him. Restaurants are close by and many deliver to the hotel, so it was definitely convenient. For me, the most important thing is cleanliness and that expectation was met...
We stayed at the Hawthorne Comfort Inn & Suites while traveling for business. The hotel was clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of our room, with a small sitting area with two comfortable chairs plus a desk. And while most hotels do provide in-room coffee makers, this room also provided its own countertop with sink. It was so convenient for filling the coffee pot without having to use the bathroom sink! The continental breakfast was very nice and very much appreciated. The hotel is also conveniently located near 3 restaurants.
Great service, clean, well kept hotel. Staff promptly checked me in, told me where all the amenities were, and made me feel welcome. No problems. Peaceful stay. Great location near Tarrytown and a good diner within walking distance. Only complaint would be the living room couch in my suite was slightly torn. But still comfortable. Would stay here again.
From the moment we set foot in the hotel we were welcomed graciously. We had an extra early arrival and they were immediately responsive to our request to check in extra early. They changed our room to the bottom floor so that we could get in immediately. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I was expecting an adequate room to sleep in. The room was spacious and clean and the beds were extremely comfortable in the room was quiet. we would definitely return to this hotel.
We have stayed here a few times now and we love it. The staff are always willing to accommodate us and help with any issues we have like forgetting items . They are always smiling which after youve traveled 8 hours in a car with kids you know you need that smile to say its ok you can rest now.
I come to this area fairly regularly to visit family. This hotel seems to be the best deal in the area, at least for the price I got on this stay (dont know if I can get such a good rate again). The hotel is very clean, very conveniently located, the breakfast buffet is excellent and the staff friendly. The beds are comfortable, too. I used the fitness room and might have used the sauna if I had had the time.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I felt very safe. Everyone made me feel very comfortable. Dede, the lady from the front desk was very helpful. Dede from the front desk made me feel comfortable . The room was very, very clean. I liked having two easy chairs in the room. The microwave and the refrigerator came in very handy.
This hotel was top-notch in virtually every way. It started with a great first impression...a bright and spacious lobby, with an easy check-in process. The room itself was impeccably clean, spacious, and comfortable. I often find things to criticize in hotel bathrooms, but this one was very clean, and very well-maintained. Internet speeds were blazing fast, and the TV channel selection cant be beat--digital cable, with a full residential style cable box. Breakfast was on par with other Comfort Inn locations, and check-out was just as easy as check-in.If I could make one suggestion for improvement, it would be to add some power outlets. There were no usable outlets by the bed, to charge cell phones and other portable devices. I recommend replacing the table lamps with those that have an extra outlet in the base.I would absolutely stay here again.
We really like this hotel. We had stayed at other Choice hotel in area -- Quality Inn in Spring Valley -- but this is so much better. It is worth paying for. Room is so comfortable, with good light to read, very comfortable bed. Beautiful bathroom. Nice and quiet. And the business center is really good if you need some quiet time to get some work done or just email without distractions. Good printer, too. Everything is kept in good shape.
This was our first time staying at this facility. We were extremely happy with the size and comfort of the room. The sink and counter top were handy as well as the fridge that had plenty of room in it. The hotel was quiet, very clean, and the location was convenient. We will definitely be back!
I enjoy this location due to its proximity to White Plains, but the microwave and fridge have allowed me to grocery shop and eat in. Breakfast and coffee is provided in the morning, but the room has a coffee maker and supplies for anytime. I never like that the pool closes so early at 8PM , but I guess thats how many hotels do it now. Overall, the stay at this facility was very pleasant. The staff were especially accommodating.
Really great room and fabulous staff! Was only there one night but wish my stay was longer. Large comfortable and super clean room. Very comfortable bed. Perhaps flatter pillows would be nice but I brought my own pillow as I always do. If I had forgotten it though, I would have wanted one instead. I will always stay here when Im the area. No reason to go elsewhere.
Upon arrival (close to midnight), a friendly woman at the desk greeted me. She informed me that I was upgraded to a suite (for no particular reason). The suite was very big and well designed. Also very clean. The bed was super comfortable. This was better than I expected for the low price that I paid.I did not take advantage of any of the hotel amenities; not even the free breakfast. I would strongly recommend this hotel if you just need a nice place to spend a night. Great value.
Its a nice hotel....room was clean & attractive......bed was clean & comfortable. Breakfast included a generous selection of food choices, and the dining room was attractive & clean. The hotel staff was pleasant. My only complaint is that the nightly rate for personal (not business) guests was higher than I think was necessary over a holiday weekend.
I wound up staying two weeks at this Comfort Inn back in January when I was there for business; when I had to return this summer, they were my go-to place. Incredibly helpful and cheerful staff on all levels, and the breakfast was wonderful. You stay at enough of these hotels and you get the sense of how these work; however, the hot food was always hot and plentiful, and the cold items were always cold; the juices were real, which I cannot say about all other hotels in the Choice chain. They are very reasonably priced, particularly by comparision in the area, and easy to get to many things in the area. Trains to the city are fairly close by as well.
This hotel is by far the cleanest and closest hotel to Westchester Medical Center. Rates, parking and security are all good. Breakfast is average but good. Rooms and property are clean which is a requirement for hospital patients. Applebees and diner across parking lot. Many hospital patients and families have stayed here and are quite satisfied.
I have stayed here several times and the staff are awesome ...great check in...they are always quick with a hello and ask how you are doing...beautifully spacious rooms,, very relaxing... so nice after a busy day in the city. Train stations nearby...I will always choose this hotel when travelling the NYC area. Thanks again for a wonderful stay...see you again soon.
I was very happy that the room was super clean. Thats always important to me when I stay in a hotel. The staff was very friendly. My room had fridge and microwave, which is great when you are traveling with a toddler. Bed wasnt the best in terms of comfort, but overall it was a really good experience.
We come back here so often for my hospital visits, I must call this my second home. Always easy check in, friendly and a nice place to stay. Room is always ready and the cleanliness of the hotel is important to me as a heart transplant recipient. I have recommended this hotel to others and have received positive feedback from that. And I thanks the wonderful staff for making this feel like home.
This hotel is very nice. Its clean and the staff is excellent. The wifi sucks and unfortunately so does the service from both AT&T and Verizon. The gym is 24 hours. Lots of parking and easy to get to. Not much around within walking distance. I will have spent a month total here by the end of next week.
After 33 days and 5500 miles on the road this fall, with numerous stays at Comfort Inns we have to say that this stop ranks at one of, if not the best Inn we visited. It was ideally situated right off the Saw Mill River Road in Hawthorne, NY. This convenient to two relatives via the Saw Mill River Parkway, I 287 and I 684 (we were driving from Vermont). My brother and his wife stayed here in September when visiting our sister and sight seeing in the area. Despite its location near the parkway the rooms were very quiet. Our suite was large and comfortable. Check-in and out were quick and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was a nice assortment of both hot and cold foods and there was plenty of seating in a pleasant area. Parking was no problem. We had worried about traffic but this is apparently far enough north that by 9 a.m. driving was easy. We were 20 minutes from each relative but that was no problem. We will stay here again.
We do quite a bit of traveling as a family and the staff at this hotel was better than any we have ever experienced. From Bryant at the front desk who graciously helped fix a booking error and saved the family vacation to friendly, thorough cleaning staff who always smiled and spoke when passed and who did a fantastic job cleaning to the waitress at the continental breakfast who was eager to anticipate any need of the guests, our experience was fantastic!
Stayed here for a family wedding many years ago and was pleased with the service. I am just as pleased once again and actually think the hotel has been redecorated since my visit many years ago. Staff is helpful and friendly and rooms are so clean. No bedbugs as I checked the registry for bedbugs.Definitely would stay here again.
We normally stay at the Sheraton when we visit Westchester but they were fully booked so we stayed at the Comfort Inn instead. I am so glad we did! The hotel is located right off the Saw Mill Parkway so its very easy to get around. The room was surprisingly spacious and everything was clean. The beds were comfortable too. The breakfast is not gourmet and the area where you eat breakfast is too small but it was still sufficient. Id definitely stay here again.
We were amazed at the size and comfort of the room, at such a reasonable price. The staff was delightful, the cleanliness was excellent, and the free Wi-Fi worked great. If we ever have reason to stay in Hawthorne again, wed be happy to return. If all Comfort Inns are this nice, well be looking to stay in their motels always.
We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms. We do not normally stay in Comfort Suites, however this experience may have changed our mind. The rooms are spacious with amenities like microwave and refrigerator. y family has special eating needs and they came in handy. The building was secure and required the room key to enter from the rear door. Breakfast was hot and provided a fair variety. I would recommend this hotel.
This hotel is particularly welcoming and its accomodations are excellent. I requested a handicap room which was perfectly suited for my needs. The breakfast had a nice variety of choices. The staff goes out of their way to make me feel welcome and inquire if I need any assistance. The location is well-situated and makes getting to almost any location in either Northern or Southern Westchester easy. Having an Applebees right next door and a multiplex movie theater nearby is an added benefit. I always look forward to my stays at this Comfort Inn.
This was my first time staying here, but Ill be back. I travel to NYC on business from time to time and hate paying high prices for tiny rooms in noisy old hotels. This was a breath of fresh air. Its a half hour from Manhattan but it feels worlds away and it doesnt break the bank. Its quiet, clean, the rooms are very comfortable, and I will definitely try to take advantage of the pool and fitness center next time. The free breakfast buffet did not entice so my travel companion and I walked steps to the Executive Diner and had a wonderful reasonably price meal. We drove into Manhattan, but there is a commuter rail station nearby for those who prefer not to deal with traffic or parking rates. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, too. I think I have found my new go-to hotel for NYC travel.
This Comfort Inn and Suites was terrific in every respect. The staff was extremely friendly--and recommended an amazing restaurant for us upon our late arrival! The building is clean, the room was very comfortable, the wifi worked well, and the tv got extra channels. We were even able to watch premiere league soccer on the weekend! We will definitely stay there again.
We have stayed at this Hotel for 12 years and we feel it is our second home. We love the area as well as going into the City. We often refer to it as the hidden jewel. It has every aspect of comfort, professional service from staff and outstanding prices. The security is excellent as well the included breakfast that serves everyone’s needs.
This hotel is easily accessible from the highway. It is also in walking distance to several nice places to eat and right next to a state of the art gym. Unfortunately, I did not get to go the gym next door, I was not sure if the hotel had arrangements with them. I ended up working out the hotel gym, which is in need of a makeover. The equipment is a little outdated. The room I stayed in was nice and spacious - a standard room with 2 queen beds, refrigerator and microwave. The room was also neat and clean. I loved the sitting area! The breakfast was very good! They offered hot and cold food and healthy options for the health conscious consumer.
This hotel was amazing. Room service was quick, rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. Breakfast had a nice selection and the pool was quiet clean and temperature was perfect! Wish the pools hours were extended but other than that it was a great stay the staff was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable in regards to attractions and food in the area.
The entrance to the hotel was at a traffic signal making exiting from the hotel easy. There are two restaurants within walking distance and a nice Italian restaurant across the street. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful in locating a place to purchase grocery items for my stay. Breakfast was done well with many options. Breakfast room was not overcrowded. The hotel has a pool.
This is a nice hotel to stay at when you want to be near family & friends during the holidays. The entrance & lobby are nicely decorated, the hotel rooms are clean & comfortable, and the breakfast room is likewise clean and attractive. Depending on where youre coming from, be sure to use a GPS or get directions because it can be a little difficult to find after dark. There is a nice Italian restaurant not far from the hotel that I highly recommend because the food was delicious, the decorations for Christmas lovely, and the staff very nice.
Good service and quality staff. I would recommend this hotel to my friends. The breakfast was great!!! The room was always kept clean . All my problems were resolved to my satisfaction. It was close to my family and easy for them to pick me up and take me to visit other people. Thank you to all the warm people that made my stay enjoyable.
We had a wonderful experience at the hotel where we stayed for six months while doing construction on our home. The staff was incredible, extremely friendly and accommodating and went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and fun. Our suite felt like home and was spotless. The pool was warm and a great bonus and the location cant be beat.
The hotel staff was lovely. Check in was quick and easy. I had a horrible experience at the Extended Stay a few miles away and was so thankful this hotel had a room for me, and I was able to change hotels late at night. The hotel was clean, just very out dated, which doesn’t bother me too much.
For several years now my wife and I have stayed at this hotel. The sign out front says it is an award winner and we see why. It is consistently a great place to stay with comfortable beds and overall a nice hotel. In addition the people that manage this facility are the best people and they always make us feel so welcome. Great location, clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff. We shall return again. As a side perk there is a very nice diner right out front that is a great place to eat.!!
I was very satisfied with my stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Hawthorne. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable (& large). The seating area was a nice alternative to having to sit on the bed at the end of a long day. The wardrobe, iron & ironing board, and quality hangers were great for tending to rumpled clothes. The kitchenette area was an excellent surprise and would be great for people traveling with children.I did not go to the gym or pool areas. The breakfast was simple, but it served my needs (except the coffee, which was really bad).
Overall, this hotel provides good value for the price. The rooms are large and well maintained, have a microwave and small refrigerator, and the beds comfortable with a choice of pillow firmness. The breakfast was standard continental but did offer a hot omelette and bacon or sausage. On one day, the waffle maker was available. We have found comfort inn to be a reliable brand for clean comfortable accommodations with decent breakfast included and this inn was no exception
We were in town for a week sight-seeing and visiting family, and this hotel was perfect for us. Great location with a lot of amenities nearby. The staff was great and we experienced no problems whatsoever during our stay. We had a two bedroom suite which was perfect for our family. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and will surely stay here again in the future.
This hotel was perfect for our stay. We had our 8 month old baby with us and set up her bed and toys with plenty of room to spare... Not to mention we had TWO queen beds in the room! The price is unbeatable and my husband couldnt believe how much we paid for what we got. Its very quiet and is in a perfect location as we have family in Pleasantville.
This seems to be an older hotel that has been remodeled. Some signs of wear and tear (worn carpet, scratched paint, etc). The bathroom of our room seems to have been remodeled in the not too distant past and was fine. Beds were comfortable and adequate, not luxurious but not uncomfortable. Breakfast was fair, just your usual suspects, but there were hot omelets and sausage to supplement the breads and waffle maker. Nice touch was fresh fruit and real Dannon yogurt. Coffee was unexpectedly good. Check in and check out was fine, not as smooth as it should be but no major delays. The only issue is the check in staff either did not know, or forgot to mention, that they have an arrangement with the next door NY Health Club for exercise. The exercise room is poor, with only a few pieces of old equipment. No comment on the pool, since we didnt use it, but it appeared to be clean and well maintained.
The rooms were very nice, spacious. You could get every channel imaginable on the tv. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was more like a continental breakfast. Would have liked more variety. They had make your own waffles, but they only had syrup for them. They had one lets and sausage patties everyday. They bagels, bread, packaged muffins and Danish, cereal and fruit. The pool was only open from 10am-8pm. We were never able to use the pool.
This was 3rd consecutive year I have stayed at this hotel in the summer ( 56 consecutive nights each time ). Very pleased with the accommodations and the hotel staff. Hotel extremely clean. Large, comfortable rooms and terrific staff. My only suggestion is that breakfast, during the week, should start at 6:00 am instead of 7:00 am. If not the full breakfast, maybe just coffee, juice and bagels. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable and well run hotel, at a reasonable price!
Great front staff. I got all the help I needed during the stay.Refrigerator and microwave were in the room and works great.Good amenity & clean room.I didnt get to try their breakfast service and their facilities.I peaked Breakfast and it looked pretty great & people were enjoying it.Coffees, teas, juices waffles, toast etc etc...Swimming pool looked nice but it closes 8pm...I wish it would be opened little later..!Small gym were there.Good hotel.
Room with very comfortable and spacious. Especially liked the business center with a fast computer and excellent printer. Hotel staff very friendly. Only small disappointment were the hot eggs with the fake-looking orange cheese implanted in them. Probably the hot breakfast changes from time to time and we just caught it on wrong day. But we would definitely stay there again.
This hotel was beautiful, clean, and easy to access. Our room and bathroom were very nice and comfortable in every way accept for the pillows. Hardest pillows I have ever had. 4 perfect squares of total hardness. Bring your own pillow.Breakfast was varied, with hard boiled eggs, toast, muffins, waffles, and eggs with cheese inside. Oh, and some kind of meat. The bananas were over-ripe and the coffee was weak, but there was something for everyone.
Nice, clean hotel. Great friendly staff. Hotel rooms are spacious and clean. Each room has a mini refrigerator as well as a microwave and coffee pot. This hotel offers a nice complementary breakfast as well. Only downside is there is no other accommodations to eat nor any bar in the hotel. Vending machines with sofas and snacks only. Overall a good place for a short stay.
Loved everything about this hotel. Room was excellent, lobby, parking, location etc. The gym could do with updates and it would be nice to be able to use the swimming pool without the need of someone else in there (I am a single traveler). There is room for improvement on the breakfast as well, but it was acceptable for a hotel of this rating. Will definitely return as I work part of the week in the area.
The staff were welcoming and Friendly, allowed us to check in early. The room was big, there were two beds to spread out on.The location was excellent and within a short walk of a really good Diner and an applebees and a top notch restaurant (Tremonto). We tried them all. We used the pool which was excellent and quiet. We had a lovely break..thanks so much
It was my first stay at the hotel. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room and friendliness of the staff. If your travels center around Westchester County, this is the ideal spot. (The train station to NYC/Manhattan is near the hotel.) And if youre traveling with munchkins, the pool is a good place to occupy their time. Overall, its an excellent spot to relax.
Hotel overall was centrally located for my purposes. The buffet while not the best selection - wise, was far from the worst. The food was good quality. The rooms were some of the more spacious rooms we stayed in during our entire trip. Most of the staff was engaging and friendly
This hotel was out dated. The internet was poor quality kept stopping and ran slow. The TV in the room was limited on its volume and was set too low to enjoy any shows. The TV size was small compared to other hotels. The room furniture was worn out. The mattress hurt my back in a way I have never experienced before.
I was traveling with family and we stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Hawthorne. The rooms were immaculate and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast had a nice variety of foods. The WiFi worked great. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area. Check In and Check Out were quick and easy and the hotel staff was very friendly.
This is the hospital I recommend for patients and/or families who have to go to Westchester Medical Center. This hotel is clean and safe with a wonderful team. Applebees and Diner within walking distance, indoor pool and exercise room on site. Continental breakfast every day starting at 7 am. Keep coming back.
Hotel was in a perfect location to visit Sleepy Hallow. The food at breakfast was great and the accommodated the large crowd by opening another room. The rooms were very clean. The staff that checked us in wasnt the friendliest, the attitude was evident. The staff later on that night was much friendlier and helpful.
Clean and modern with excellent amenities and great continental breakfast. Reasonable rates for Westchester County, NY. Ample parking close to main entrance. We had a queen double (smoking) which was excellent but the rug could use repair/replacement because the marks showed it was obviously subject to some abuse. Accommodating and polite staff. We would stay there again. Convenient location away from the bustle but near enough to the local business districts (20-30 min.) Both the modern diner and the Applebees restaurant right inside the same parking lot were nice perks.
We stayed hair or for personal reasons. We ended up and drawing the hotels bed and small tiny pillows. The size of the Room is huge. There right next door to a diner and and an applebees which is convenient. The staff was very friendly. The Internet is quick and accessible and free. The only downside is the rooms need updating.
Everything was clean, check-in was timely, breakfast was delicious, and wi-fi though a little slow worked very well. I would absolutely stay here again, and definitely recommend it to others. My 1 and only complaint was the pool closing at 8pm. It was a major factor in booking here, and by the time we arrived, we where too late to use it. I would recommend at least 9pm for using the pool. The price is about $20 more a night than other nearby hotel chains, but because of the inclusions ( pool, breakfast, and wi-fi) which are all free, I feel it is definitely worth the difference.
Probably the least friendly and helpful front desk experience Ive had at a hotel. They definitely dont aim to please. Wont provide you with the Wi-Fi password so you can look up directions while waiting in the lobby for your room to be ready. Wont even take 10 seconds to find you directions on Google Maps while you wait in the lobby for said room to be ready. Ill definitely shoot for a place that actually seems to want/appreciate my business the next time I visit Tarrytown.
The staff at this hotel were absolutely amazing. They were so helpful and friendly. One of the best experiences Ive had staying at a hotel.. Ramon, Linda, Leslie, Brian and rest of staff....Thank You!!Hotel is very nice with spacious room and nice, clean pool and exercise area..breakfast was good and very enjoyable. Advance pay rate was amazing value as a Choice Club member.
The hotel was everything a guest visiting areas away from home would make us felt like we were home. The comfort and quietness can not be compared with other motels. The staff was friendly and helpful always asking if there was anything else they could do to make my stay comfortable. I couldnt have asked for a better place to experience my time away from home.
We usually stay at 3 star hotels. We didn’t realize this was a two star til we had booked. The sizes of the amenities; soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion, were very small. I’d say single use.....which made them hard to use. It was hard to squeeze out what was needed. The breakfast Nook was adequate but I missed real glass dishes and cups. Everything was cardboard. It certainly changed my experience.
This hotel is located yards from the freeway and nestled against a hilly backdrop beautiful in winter or summer. Its close to restaurants, movie theaters and local attractions like horseback riding, Rockefeller State Park, Sleepy Hollow, Outlets and more. The ambiance is quaint and inviting with comfortable, very clean and spacious rooms. It even has a fair sized heated pool also well maintained. Staff are adequate and perform their duties in a perfunctory manner - not as friendly as Ive come to expect. For those who chose not to partake of the complimentary breakfast offered a pretty good diner is merely yards away from the front door. Overall - a nice little getaway from the city without having to get too far away from the city. Definitely one to add to the Favorites list.
When we went to check in at the Inn our room wasnt ready (it was about 15 minutes before check-in time). We had brought our luggage in from the car and waited awhile in the lobby when the gentleman at the desk said that he was ready to check us in. He told us our room still wasnt ready so he was giving us an upgrade to a suite. The suite was great - separate livingroom/kitchen and bedroom. The rooms were clean which was one of my worries (we normally travel in our motorhome or stay in a timeshare property). The only small issue was that there were no pots and pans or dishes in the provided kitchen. The kitchen had a stove top, microwave, and refrigerator. What good is a cooktop if you dont have any pans? There also were no supplies in the kitchen, e.g., paper towels or dish detergent. We asked at the front desk and they gave us some liquid dish detergent in a cup. They told my husband that they never had been asked for dish detergent before. None of that was a real problem - afterall we had gotten the kitchen for free. The provided breakfast was good, but the cooked entree was the same every day. We would definitely stay here again.

2022-03-23This hotel is immaculately clean and the staff is kind and efficient. The rooms are so comfortable and spacious. The business center is great. On top of all that, it is very conveniently located to the NY/CT metropolitan area. Stay here with complete confidence!

2022-06-09I shall say this is a great hotel. Unfortunately, the free breakfast makes it quite unpleasant. While most hotels start its free breakfast at 6:00 or 6:30, this hotel starts at 7:00. Not only that, everything is not ready until about 7:20-7:30. Remember this is not a cheap hotel.

2022-07-02Rooms are quite dated, drapes have holes in them, shower doesn’t drain and there were ants in the room.

2021-11-28If you keep in mind that its Comfort Inn and not 5 star resort. Sure if you look hard enough, you will find faults. But my room was clean, which is most Important. Staff was quick to check me in/out. If you are like me and just look for a clean room to sleep at a decent price, then I recommend this place. If you need everything updated, staff that bendsOver backwards for you, etc…then maybe look for something else

2022-01-19I did not actually stay but I wanted to warn all about the inflexibility of cancellation policies at this property. I had reservations and confirmed them. However, I tested positive for COVID within the 48 hour cancellation period and started isolating. I contacted the property and explained the situation and the front desk would not allow me to talk to the General Manager. I emailed the property (multiple email addresses) and Choice Hotels corporate. I was charged for a no-show and am still trying to get a refund from the property GM. Choice Hotels could not help, only the local property has the authority to refund. Would the property really charge me for a no-show because I tested positive for COVID and did not want to travel?

2021-10-29Stayed here for a couple of weeks and it was amazing! The place is clean, doesnt smell like old cigarettes, and has a pretty good grab n go spread.I was really impressed with the housekeeping staff, they were such a massive help in keeping a room livable with two adults and a small child sharing a room!
