Bathroom was not cleaned well at all. There was mold on the shower curtain, the shower head was gross, there was hair on the floor, the mirror was splattered and there was toothpaste dripping down the front of the vanity. The hotel was obviously not designed with noise control in mind. We heard every little noise inside the hotel and outside. The doors also slam so loudly that we were woken up every time someone left their room. The caulking under the toilet was peeling off and the toilet rocked back and forth. The outlets on the nightstand don’t work. Very disappointed.
Stayed here last weekend and was very pleased!Ranae made us feel very welcomed! She was polite, quick and efficient. After a very long day it was very much appreciated. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Really nice for the price. We will be staying here again!
A very nice Comfort inn. The bed was comfortable. The pillows are to soft. Choice Hotels needs to get some new better pillowcases. The sheets and pillowcases are stained and dingy looking. Bathroom is new and the water pressure and temp were excellent. This hotel is Corporate Lodging(clc). Thank you much for being clc. There is truck parking behind the hotel.
Welllllll, first of all, they want 150.00$ deposit .....The room appeared clean, but needs a good wipe down . The lamp by the bed anyways. Then I saw a spot through the pillow case. (I will post pic, dry blood) can you say grossed me out!for 95.oo$ total price for the nite. Paid less then that for a much nicer place. We did get our deposit back, with no problem. But, to me the deposit was unnecessary. Wont be back. Oh I forgot about the towel.......l suggest if you go here, check the clean towels before you go to use them......yuck!
This hotel is clean, well appointed and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Hotel personnel are nice and responsive to guests. The breakfast used to be really good. Now it is horrible, I cant believe they even advertise they have a breakfast, the waffle machine was dirty and that area of the bar was not clean. There was hardly anything else on the hot breakfast bar. I was shocked at how much the quality had decreased.
Overall it was a good stay. Dont let the lack of landscaping fool you. The property is nice inside. Breakfast is good but doesnt change each day, so its a bit monotonous if you say more than a couple days like we did, but it was still good! Big downfall in this newer hotel is that they dont have towel racks in the bathroom. Im not sure why youd sacrifice function for design. It was very annoying since we stayed four nights. Bathroom was very clean and room was mostly clean, too, except for some stains on the bedding (which we just removed from the bed for our stay). Ninety percent of the staff were super nice, friendly, and helpful.Id still stay here again. Hoping by next year they get some towel racks and not just the hook on the back of the door most people use to hang their clothes on.
I booked this room as a quick overnight on a longer trip. I chose it for the price but was surprised by how nice it was. My room seemed newly renovated, it was very spacious too. The girl at the front destroy was very sweet and did not seem to be acting. Breakfast was ok.....typical of the free morning breakfasts at other hotels, no better but no worse. The woman staffing it was very attentive.
The king room was very spacious and clean with a good rate. Well lit clean bathroom and shower. Good a/c, mini fridge, and was nice having a small sofa in the room. The hotel overall was very clean and modern with helpful friendly staff. The breakfast was a bit disappointing with tasteless microwaved scrambled eggs, nice waffle station but not kept up, overall food was not being replenished. I would stay there again but get breakfast elsewhere even though it was included
When you walk into the hotel, it has a cool vibe to it. Very cool. FD staff was great. The room was huge! Almost too big and felt I needed a larger TV to compensate because I felt like the bed was too far away from the TV. The rooms size would have been great for family, but for 2 people - this room was too big. I could have had a dance party. The bathroom had neat fixtures. However, the sink wasnt cleaned. Toothpaste all over the sink and lots and lots of hair in the bathtub. It looked as though the bathroom wasnt cleaned nearly at all and towels and such just put in there. I would stay again. The staff was great. There are off days in the housekeeping world.
The room was the cleanest Ive ever stayed in with all the hotels Im in throughout the year. It made me feel right at home in the bathroom, too. Usually, I take along some Windex & bleach, & always have to use them. Not this time. Every detail was fine tuned. The staff were very kind & helpful. I loved the way they had the lobby decorated, too. I am definitely staying there again!!!
Hotel was very nice. Pretty new and clean. We arrived late and woman at front desk was not particularly friendly. She handed us room key and didnt tell us where it was located. The room was nice. Bedding was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. Bathroom was very clean and well maintained. Had problem with A/C - hard to regulate. When room got too cold we turned heat on and it smelled like unit was burning. Breakfast had plenty of choices for food. Woman working there was meticulous and very friendly. Overall our experience was good.
It is soon to be 4 years old. It was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms were comfortable, the beds were the best. However, the STAFF were the best ever. It was amazing how the personnel all seemed to truly enjoy their work, and it showed. I will return for another weekend.I was happy to receive this opinion survey as I had already sent an email to the General Manager complimenting her on her staff and property.
We stay at this hotel quite often and usually have a good experience. This time however, was not as good. When we arrived we found that the mini-fridge was rather noisey, so the woman at the desk moved us into the room across the hall. Although both rooms are two queen rooms, the new room felt smaller. One of the lamps was not plugged in - we found that the only available outlet was already taken up by the TV and the fridge. I would suggest that they invest in some plug strips or simply remove the lamp. One other lamp had only one working light bulb - which I normally wouldnt complain about but thought I would note it today. The biggest issue occurred after we had gone to bed - we were both dozing off when my wife discovered a sock in the sheets that was not ours. We used to feel that they hotel was pretty clean, but this left us rather uncomfortable. We were both so tired that we just got the sock out of there and fell asleep. This particular issue I reported to the front desk and he assured me it would not happen again. He did not, however, offer any restitution - just the promise that they would investigate.I will say that the staff was pleasant and helpful, as usual. And the breakfast was well done - we do appreciate that they have added scrambled eggs as a regular item on the continental breakfast. We will come back in hopes that our next experience will be better.
Good value. First time staying at this hotel. The beds were very comfortable, and we got a good nights sleep. There is a lot of good lighting and plugs to charge phones. Bath was small but up to date and clean. Would like more channels on TV, including a guide. maid kept the room clean . Wished there were vending machines but there was a store nearby and a good restaurant next door. There was no bible in the room. We were there visiting family and friends as we grew up in the Binghamton area and raised our children there. Enjoyed our stay.
Nice place, they could use some attention to detail from the maintenance staff. Foyer light was burned out, bathtub needed caulk, and the water supply chrome ring was an inch and a half from the wall. Overall, staff was friendly and hotel was clean, but the breakfast does not include eggs like one reviewer had mentioned. Pretty good experience overall for the rate.
The king room we stayed in was very roomy and above all, very clean. The bed was a joy to sleep in and we both got a good, comfortable nights sleep.Bathroom was very clean with nice fixtures. This was our second visit in as many months, and we would most surely stay here again when passing through the area. The hot breakfast was nicely presented and of good quality. Very satisfying!
There was a humming noise every 50 seconds the whole night. When we complained they said it was the compressor and throughout the whole hotel and had no plan of fixing it. Dry blood on the comforter and mold on the shower curtain. It was cheap but the fact that no one could sleep with the hotel noises, it wasn’t worth it. Staff was very nice.
Very clean! Great price! Very comfortable beds. Staff welcomed us in during a huge snow storm and we were grateful since we had no reservation. Large clean rooms. There is a Perkins next door where we ate each day and was awesome too. Definitely a better hotel choice than the expensive places in Vestal. We have a daughter in school in the area and Comfort Apalachin will be our go to hotel. It is easy to find to because it is right off the exit. No way to miss it. Thanks for a good stay.
I used to live in the area. Since then friends and family have moved away or do not have room to host a night or two. So Apalachin is a bit of a drive from Binghamton but well worth it simply because the hotels in Binghamton are overpriced and/and just plain nasty. This hotel was perfect in just about all regards.First it was clean and roomy. My daughter and I shared a room and we had plenty of space. Now it was chilly when we walked in the toom but once the heat got going it was good. The bathroom was clean. Towels were a little stiff but otherwise ok. Water pressure was a little weak but nothing horrible.Second, the breakfast was great! Oh there was the usual of cereal, eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, etc., but Ive never had chocolate donuts in this type of hotel ever! Not only that but the food was good to boot (not just palatable). Plus the coffee was good, too, so that always helps. So if you dont need to stay in Binghamton, give this place a shot. If youre passing through, its a good stop, too, because, as one of the other reviews noted the highway noise is practically non-existent.
Overall my wife and I were very pleased with our stay. It is one of the better places to stay in the area. The price was reasonable and the room was up to date and clean. I rated it a 4 rather than a 5 for 2 reasons: first, the front desk person was not especially friendly and welcoming, and second, some attention to sweeping outside the front of the hotel was needed.
I spent several weeks at this hotel and am very happy with the experience. The staff was friendly and personable while still maintaining a professional attitude. I had the feeling that they really cared whether or not I was enjoying my stay. Rooms are very nice and spacious! And the area is centrally located for lots to do. I highly recommend this hotel.
The staff was very friendly and we were able to check in 2 hours early. Our room was clean and comfortable. The location was prefect for us, right off the highway. I felt the price was very good- we had a group rate for a birthday party. We did not use the breakfast there as we slept in. Right next door was a huge diner with a great selection.
My wife and I found ourselves at this hotel litterly by accident. Early in the morning on a Sunday we were driving in horrendously slippery and snowy road conditions when we collided with the guardrail getting off at an exit. Fortunately were were not hurt and the Comfort Inn was at the bottom of the exit. Our car was undrivable but before it was towed away we were dropped off at the hotel. The staff were attentive and were able to allow us to check into a room early in the morning. They even offered us breakfast. They were gracious in very trying times for us using concern and even a little humor to make us feel comfortable. I highly recommend that you not find yourself at this hotel in similar circumstances but I know that the staff will be gracious under any circumstance. The property is clean, quiet and well cared for. Five star service and property! I dont remember the names of the staff but thank you!
Ive stayed here multiple times for work, and its great. The rooms are clean and comfortable, as is the lobby. Excellent free breakfast in the morning with many options. Also located next to the Blue Dolphin diner, which is a nice place to get a meal. What stands out the most, for me, is the staff. Remarkably friendly and accommodating. You can tell that customer satisfaction is something they pride themselves on. If youre ever in the area and need a place to stay, stay here. Cant beat the prices, either.
Stayed in this hotel twice and both times was a very pleasant stay! The hotel is very clean and new. The rooms were very well taken care of and beautiful. It was very quiet and we slept well. The breakfast was wonderful. The only downside was that it was stated the breakfast was until 9:30, however things were taken off of the breakfast buffet at 9:10, so make sure you dont go late.
My wife and I stayed 2 nights. I joined Choice Rewards to get a discount and it was a little bit cheaper than the Hilton in the area (Im an HHonors member). Otherwise I dont think itd be worth it. Check-in was easy and seamless. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming. The property seems well maintained and kept up. I think its only 10 years old, or so. Its a quiet, seemingly secure, area. But still very convenient to major highways. The room and bathroom were spacious and smelled fresh and clean. But there was a leftover coffee pouch in the coffee maker from the previous guest. Made us wonder just how clean things really were....was the bedding even fresh? The bed and pillows were pretty comfortable. An extra set of towels wouldve been excellent (3 sets between the two of us isnt unusual at most hotels). I didnt take advantage of the included/free hot breakfast. So I cant speak to that. The fitness room....well its in quotes because its a joke. A few old cardio machines in an unused hotel room doesnt make a fitness room, per se. Check out is at 11 but I called that morning and extended it til 12 without a problem. Overall I would stay here again and recommend it to others. As long as its at some kind of lower/discounted rate.
This was our first stay at this particular Comfort Inn. Our room was pleasant, clean comfortable bed and bathroom which is most important for me. Hotel just got a new manager who was hands on with the desk staff when we checked in and available in the breakfast room in the morning. Breakfast needs some work as it was a bit sparse (no oatmeal; only one waffle maker with several waiting; no toaster) but I believe the new manager will address these issues. We will go back when we are in the area again.
Would recommend. Got a suite using points. Jacuzzi tub was fantastic. Room was very large. Only issue we had was the AC did not cool the room. Called the front desk spoke with Tasha. She came up found the filters were clogged. Clean them and reinstalled. AC was blowing a better. Tasha would of gave us another room but hotel was sold out. Really believe that AC is to small for room square footage and that was the real issue. Would definitely go back. Still not a fan of the hot breakfast. Also July seems to be Mayfly swarming month. These little critters were all over the outside of everywhere after dark.
My overall experience was very pleasant. I have stayed in this hotel before and have notices some improvements, especially in the breakfast choices. The breakfast has expanded to offer more choices. They have a new waffle maker which gives you the option of making several smaller waffles. This was a great addition because it allowed my family to share the waffles, eliminating the waste from previous visits. The hotel staff was very friendly and the check-in/check-out was swift. I highly recommend this hotel!
Weather compelled an earlier-than-planned stop. This hotel was chosen primarily due to proximity to the expressway. Nearly everything, though, exceeded expectations. The building and the room were in excellent condition -- clean and up-to-date. The staff was friendly and helpful.Nitpicking: WiFi could be faster. Breakfast eggs were about what youd expect. This hotel will DEFINITELY be at the top of my list for overnight stops when Im traveling through the area.
Looks like new ownership. Room was spacious and clean with very comfortable bed.Breakfast was adequate and presentation was ok.Believe some renovations are being made and some common areas like stairwells have not been cleaned for a while and have caked dirt on rugs which may be due to construction workers using stairs.
There are plenty of other hotels along this route, this hotel is below par. Needs a BIG overhaul. The front desk people are friendly enough, but cleaning persons need better management. There is a great restaurant next door, which is a plus. The bed was comfortable. Bathrooms are way too small. Spend your money elsewhere.
It was a beautiful weekend, weather wise, and we were thrilled with the new landscaping, fountain that had been installed. The addition of the 24 hour a day Perkins was wonderful and we took full advantage of it. There were some issues at the breakfast bar with a piece of equipment malfunctioning but the breakfast attendant was right there heating up food and making sure guests were accommodated. The helpful, courteous and friendly staff and the cleanliness of this property make us regular guests and we have recommended this property to others.
Stayed here for a college sports event and we were very well received. Staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions. Our rooms were great and very clean. We skipped the continental breakfast (which looked good) in favor of the Perkins restaurant next door. Front desk clerk kindly gave us a coupon for 10 percent off. We greatly enjoyed our stay as did our friends. We will definitely stay here the next time that we come to BU events as this is a cheaper and friendlier option.
This Comfort Inn was excellent! The room was clean and big. The breakfast was super nice. The food was continuously refreshed and appealing. I would highly recommend this as a nice place to stay. When hotels have seemingly gotten worse and worse and the free breakfasts reflect the word free, this one was a pleasant surprise.
Building is only two years old but the furnishings were much older and may have come from a Quality Inn on an adjoining property (currently closed). Room had a very strong smell like pet urine; but was probably mold and must resulting from very wet carpeting around the air conditioner. Customer service rep at front desk was not interested or concerned. Room was large and the rate was very good but obviously the property is not well managed. Too bad. This chain has taken several steps forward in the last few years but this was definitely one large step backward.
The motel was fairly new, so that everything looked good. The room was clean, and the beds were fine. The shower was great, and the bathroom was very clean. The breakfast selection was the best we have ever had at a motel, and we have stayed at over 20 motels in the past year.
The hotel was nice. The check-in process was quick and the staff was nice. Everything was clean. The one major drawback was the rude housekeeper that barged into our room, unannounced. She walked into our room, without KNOCKING! And once she saw us, she did not apologize. She simply walked out as if nothing happened. I have never experienced someone walking into my room without knocking first. Very rude.
When rating it three stars, Im asked to say why it was ok. And okay is the right word. It was 65 dollars a night for the weekend for a two bed ground floor room, dont expect the ritz. Check in went fine, staff was personable. Room was mostly pretty clean, there were scuffs on some walls and signs of wear you cant clean away. Ok looking, not particularly nice or bad. Water got warm enough if you let it run a minute. All I was looking for was literally a place to crash as cheap as possible that was just a half step above the very bleh motel I tried last time, but still cheap. Classic diner and Perkins and big gas station all right nearby, walkable
The hotel was clean, staff friendly and helpful. I love the fact that the fan and light switches were separate in the bathroom. The breakfast was great with lots of choices. Of all the hotels we stayed in during our week long visit, we were happiest with this one. Would definitely recommend it.
Stayed here for 4 nights for a large family wedding. This is a great hotel and I mean it. No way to beat this place for the price at all. Super convenient location just off the exit. Located next to a great 24 hour Perkins Restaurant. Nice local folks own this hotel and take alot of care for the customer. They did a great job taking care of everyone at the wedding. Then we all went and ate at the Perkins. Very clean hotel, great staff, good location, breakfast with real eggs included too. We will definitely be back!
Easy access to/from the highway. Recently renovated, clean and bright lobby, hallways and rooms. TV was very nice. Inet was fast and stable. Breakfast was adequate with decent choices. Coffee and tea was always available and slightly better than average. Room was quiet and comfortable. HVAC excellent. Plenty of accessible outlets. Very pleasant hotel staff.
Stayed 3 days. Didn’t take long to notice the excessive creaking of the floors. The room above me seemed to never go to sleep. Came back to the room second day and it wasn’t cleaned or restocked with towels. The other room in my group had same issue. Third day the bed got made but nothing done in bathroom. Breakfast was huge disappointment as they never restocked the food. One day the bread never got put out. The staff liked to entertain friends or girl friends instead of taking care of things around hotel. I can’t stress enough how bad the creaking of the floors are. Other guests had same complaint.
The sink in our room was clogged all during our brief visit rendering it unusable for our entire night stay there. Also, the breakfast served in the morning (which was included in the price of our stay) was awful. I requested a slight refund of the price we paid, due to the clogged sink, and was told that the manager would call me back but he never did. However, the representative at the service desk, who checked us in and out, was very friendly and nice.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Needed a place for the night before heading to the Finger Lakes to tour the wineries. The continental breakfast was very good, but for those wanting more choices there is a well-known diner right next door. The staff was very friendly and we would definitely stay there again. The location right off the highway was very convenient since the area doesnt always have the hotels located as such.
Great location for en joie golf course stay. 3 minutes away, perfect spot if parking in Parking Lot A for a concert at the golf course, as its to the west of the golf course and avoids all the closed roads. Very clean with a Perkins, mom and pop diner, a convenience store and a McDonalds walking distance. Stayed in a king jacuzzi room - clean, large room, but a very bare room, needs more decorations, furniture, plants, mirrors or something. Maybe a partition. There was about a 10 foot by 10 foot area in the middle of the room with nothing. It was just odd, nothing unpleasant. Breakfast area was nice and clean.
The hotel seemed extremely understaffed and run down. It was painful to watch one person handle so many responsibilities. Despite this, their are attitudes were positive and helpful. A few of the chairs in the lobby were sagging, the chairs in the dining area were dusty at the bottom and there were a lot of marks on the walls in our room
My room was excellent and the continental breakfast was better than expected - the waffle maker really made my day- but, as with all hotels in the general area, the price was ridiculous because of a nearby graduation. *the iron in the room was better and more efficient than any iron I have ever used in my life.
A+++++ Great room with terrific price. Comfortable bed, Huge bathroom with handicap shower. Linens were top quality and room also had a microwave and small fridge! I was surprised by the size of the room as it was huge with lots of space. Perfect for senior citizens and they accept AARP for a discount. Free breakfast also included.Staff were very helpful with directions and even told us how to find an ice cream place!
We stayed at the comfort inn for my sisters graduation and it worked out great. The hotel is right off the exit and is very accessible to the surrounding area. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast was very nice and if you are looking for something more sit down there is a Perkins attached to the property that had great service and great food.
GreatstayGreat stay, always. Hospitality and comfort is why we pick a hotel. Delivery of these services is why we come back. This hotel delivers each and every time we stay. Once you walk through the doors, you are welcomed into a modern, new and efficient hotel with everything you need. If there is ever a problem, staff always works at making it better. The facility is less than 2 years old and is kept clean and just like new. Rooms, bathrooms, dining area are all super clean.
Just a great local hotel. Owned by super nice people too. We had guests stay here for a local wedding recently and for a graduation last year. Never disappoints. They helped all of our guests and even made special breakfast food for dietary requirements of some guests. Breakfast has real eggs and bacon made by Perkins next door. Very clean and large rooms. Friendly staff. Convenient just off the exit. And a big bonus is that there is a spanking new Perkins next door which is clean and open 24 hours. This place is much more affordable than the options in Vestal and nicer too.
General manager checked us in. Couldnt figure out system. Another employee had to give us our receipt in the morning. Elevator floor and carpet in a few places were dirty and still hadnt been cleaned in the morning. Breakfast scanty. Eggs hadnt been ordered, no English muffins, just enough raisin Bran for a little bowl, one waffle machine out of order,, and one warming tray not working. On the other hand, the a.m. employee was gracious, loyal to the hotel, our room seemed clean. There were plentyof towels although no place to hang them. Small cigarette burn in bedspread. Had enough of badda book badda book.
This hotel was decorated beautifully for the holidays. The accommodations were clean and our floor was very quite. It is completely smoke free and pet free, which is especially great for 2 adults with allergies to both. There is coffee available 24/7 and the Blue Dolphin restaurant are a short walk from the hotel
This hotel is only about 2 years old. I know this because the last time we were in the area we stayed at the not so nice hotel next to it, and the Comfort Inn was still under construction. We were not disappointed. It is very clean and quiet. The staff is extremely pleasant. Worth every penny for a good nights sleep. Usually you only get 2 wimpy little pillows but this place puts 4 nice fluffy pillows on each bed. Highly recommended.
Comfortable, clean, friendly, very good value for the money. We stayed here during the Cornell graduation, which was a 40 minute drive away, but it was an excellent price, a small but serviceable breakfast, and they accommodated certain room requests that we had made a year previously. Worth the drive.
One of the BETTER Comfort Inns we have stayed at. This hotel is relatively new, rooms were very clean and neat. Staff friendly and helpful and it has a very nice breakfast buffet that included a few meaty items not usually found at my Choice Hotel Stays. If your there at supper time, do go to the Blue Dolphin restaurant located next door. Good food at good prices. I would definitely stay at this property again.
Me and business partner stayed at the hotel in room 316 for 6 days. During our first two days at the hotel we were asked by the housekeeper if we needed anything and out of curtesy we said no since we still had fresh towels. The third day she did not ask us and when we arrived at the hotel that evening the room was not cleaned and there was a “do not disturb” sign on the door that we did not put there. I had to call down to the lobby so we could get fresh towels. We did not say anything and went to work the following day. Again, when we returned to the hotel there was a do not disturb sign on the door. We had hid the one in our room. I was so aggravated I went down to the lobby and told the young lady we needed our room cleaned. Apparently someone put in the computer that we were a permanent do not disturb guest. We never asked for that. The next day we came to the hotel and the beds were made but the sheets were still the same sheets. The counters were not wiped down and the room was barely touched. It is frustrating to pay for a hotel room and get the service we got. I should have selected to go to the $35/night motel if I knew that was the service we would have received. When we checked into the hotel room the bottle of lotion in the bathroom was half-empty.
This was a great experience! My husband, daughter and I stayed for 1 night. Check-in staff was very helpful and let us check-in a little early. The hotel was clean in the lobby and breakfast area, and throughout the halls. Our room was immaculate and spacious. There was plenty of room for the pack n play we brought. The only issue we experienced was the floor above us had quite a bit of creaking so each time the guests walked it felt like they were in our room because it was a bit loud. Minor issue but was distracting when trying to sleep.
This seems to be a fairly new facility, and is bright and airy and seems a safe location. The staff is friendly and tried their best to help guests, though obviously short handed. The breakfast is adequate for a hotel with no on site kitchen...only so much you can say about microwaved prepared food. I would stay here again if in the area.
I have been so impressed with the staff, appearance and cleanliness of the Comfort Inn, Apalachin New York, both times I have stayed there that I have recommended it to friends and family. I traveled, both times, with my mother who is 95-years-old and they went absolutely out of their way to make sure she was treated like royalty, helping her to the car, putting our luggage in the car, making sure we got in and out of the property safely and that our every need while we were at the hotel was taken care of promptly. We re so grateful to find such a wonderful property in our budget range with a staff that epitomizes the word Hospitality. Kudos!
The Comfort INN Apalachin is an older property in need of paint and a few renovations. However, I would stay there again because the place is really clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast left much to be desired although, having a 24Hrs Perkins and other restaurants next door did offset that.
The staff was very friendly and the room was neat. My only negative thing is the breakfast, there was not much of a selection. No fruit, although there was eggs but no bacon or sausage. No muffins or donuts. And one day they had no butter. Would have given it 5 stars if the breakfast was better.
Tiffany was the first person we met as we entered the Lobby. She was so welcoming and friendly, we knew we were in for a great stay. She told us she would be there if we needed anything and presented us with our keys. The room was clean and fresh and after a long drive from CT, we were ready to relax! The beds were comfortable, bathroom was perfect, towels were soft and we were so comfortable we almost overslept.Breakfast was fresh and since we were getting to be the last to attend, Tiffany again to the rescue offered to make a little more to fill the three of us to a refreshing fresh and hot breakfast right down to the waffles! She even gave us a History lesson of the towns Name Apalachin.-I wont tell you, you have to go stay to find out!
If youre passing through, its a good stop, too, because, as one of the other reviews noted the highway noise is practically non-existent.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. But there was no soap. Available only by request. You may need to be insistent. We were settling in for the evening. I was using the bathroom. No soap at the sink. Hmmm. I looked around. No soap in the shower, either. No soap anywhere.I went to the front desk to get a bar of soap.Oh, we dont have any, the clerk answered. Its on order. Weve been out of soap for a while.Really?People have been complaining, she offered, trying to be helpful.I was polite but firm. I need a bar of soap, I told her. She offered to try and get some from the Quality Inn next door. Please bring it to my room, I answered.15 minutes later, she knocked on the door to give me a bar of Quality Inn soap. Nice hotel. Not sure if we will go back. If we do, well be sure to bring our own soap.
Fantastic breakfast and comfy bed. 4 star instead of 5 because there was nowhere to hang a towel within reach of the shower and the shower wasnt hot enough. Also, staff knocked on our door to ask if we were illegally parked out front (we werent). Overall the staff was very friendly (especially the woman who was setting up the breakfast and the front desk clerk with ghe colorful hair). I wish there was a pool. Theres a pokéstop at the diner next to the hotel.
We have stayed here several times and there has been a significant management change. We had no soap in the bathroom. When we requested soap at the desk I was handed a used bar of soap. I was told maybe by the morning they would have some. Light bulbs out in the bedroom, no tissues, no plastic cups for water, room key envelope was reused and you couldnt read the wifi information. The breakfast was bare bones. No fruit, no yogurt etc. something really changed since our stay last year. The room was very clean and the staff very nice. We go through this area several times a year and hope they get their supply issue resolved.
We stay at the Comfort Inn every time we visit my family in Apalachin, NY. The staff is professional and very friendly. The rooms are clean and like the name implies, comfortable. We always get a room with a king size bed. The suites are really nice, but the regular size rooms are a sufficient size as to be comfortable.
Management of this hotel was not on board. She could not handle the computer to competently check us in. . Other staff picking up some of the slack. The carpeting behind the counter looked dirty, mud had been dragged into the elevator and paper scraps had been dropped. It looked the same at 8:45 a.m. the next morning. Food had not been ordered for breakfast. There were no eggs, only two sausages left, no English muffins and about half a cup of raisin bran.
Stayed at the Apalachin Comfort Inn over Thanksgiving with my husband and two young children. Great rate, convenient breakfast and hotel was very close to family members and local restaurants. Room was quite large and allowed for more than enough space for the pack and play as well as all the bags that a family of four requires. Mini frig in room (that is already chilled too!) was very convenient for having cold beverages on hand throughout our stay. WiFi signal was also quite impressive, allowed us to stream movies to our iPads to keep kids entertained while we got ready with little signal interruption. Would highly recommend this hotel for any travelers in the area, and will choose this hotel again next time we visit family in the Apalachin area.
We were greated by name and quickly provided our room which was clean, comfortable, and met all of our needs. Breakfast was wonderful, and the breakfast attendant made our waffles and carried them to our table. She went above and beyond by providing extra hot water at the table and clearing our plates when we were finished. It felt more like dining in a restaraunt than eating breakfast at a hotel.
Upon arrival bed sheets were not changed in the two rooms (3 beds) we had booked for 4 nights. We had to replace two of the bed comforters since one was dirty and the other had blood on it. The hallway carpeting was never vacuum during our stay, nor do we recall ever seeing or hearing a vacuum cleaner. The breakfast area had two broken machines and coffee lids that did not match the cups. The attendant said, yeah they are the wrong lids or were for different cups. Staff seemed to be overwhelmed or untrained to handle inquiries. We had to have our room keys reset each day upon return and could not have a key made to last the entire stay.
I stopped at Comfort Inn due to inclement weather. This was not my intended stop but the driving rain changed my plans. This is a fairly new hotel. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The Wifi worked well. I dont want to sound picayune but the hotel didnt have any vending machines and the exercise machine, especially the Elliptical had much to be desired.
Overall a very large room and extremely comfortable beds. It is a new hotel and the room was very clean. The breakfast in the morning was not good at all. The hot buffet items were inedible and the waffle iron burnt the waffle. (I have used the iron in other properties so it was not an error on my part). There was no fruit offerings available. My advice is to the hotel is not to offer any hot food items and just offer a continental breakfast, cereal, yogurt, fruit, danish, juice and coffee/tea.
Convenient location. Staff was friendly and very helpful even during this very stressful graduation weekend. I would recommend this hotel The rooms are large, beds are comfortable, bathrooms very clean. Overall a great experience. Thank you especially to Cindy and Charlie (y) who were patient, kind and empathetic.
We have stayed at this hotel many times and have found it clean and friendly. We like that there is a restaurant across the parking lot and on our recent trip were surprised to see a Perkins attached to the hotel. We like the Blue Dolphin a lot. Breakfast was a bit disappointing at the hotel so the next time we might opt for Perkins.
Staff very pleasant, newly freshened appearance, yet smoking area too close too open lobby door smoke and smell filled the lobby, was also gathering area for employees smoke breaks, so you walked through it if you came in that entrance. Room was clean and pleasant, shower head was very loose and leaking, my husband tightened it. Breakfast was fair. Egg choices were rubber fried egg, or rubber omelet. Scrambled a better choice, just a thought. A fresh fruit, or yogurt would have been nice as well. Bananas are inexpensive.
One of the worst hotels ive stayed at. I stay in my fair share of hotels for work and this one is by far the worst. House keeping made up our rooms 1 time in the 10 days we were here. Had to go to the front desk for towels and they said they would take care of the problem but it continued for the entire stay. Breakfast is very limited and there is hardly anyone at the front desk to even talk to about any problems half the time.
This was by far the most lovely hotel I have stayed at in a long time. I was stunned at the beauty of the pots and plants they have out in front and behind the hotel. It is very clear that the owners of this hotel care an awful lot about what they do.Im also excited that there will be a Perkins built next door, which will make staying at the hotel that much better in the future.
Let me start my review by saying that my family and I moved out of the area a few years back and whenever we come back to visit, this is where we stay. We stay in this hotel multiple times per year. However, the most recent stay over Labor Day weekend was just horrible. Upon check-in, our kids were excited because they usually have a basket of lollipops at the counter. It was nowhere to be seen so upon asking we were told that they were all out. We were there Saturday-Tuesday and they ever replenished the supply, maybe minor yes, but our kids were disappointed and young so they cried about it.Upon inspection of our bed, we found a hair in our sheets and questioned if this was just the maid’s or if it was from the previous stay and when the sheets were last changed. The next day using the card that is supplied in the room to indicate for the sheets to be changed that night, we came back to our room later that night to find that the same sheets were on the bed and never changed. When we are on travel and use foreign bathtubs to bath the kids, my wife usually cleans the tub as an extra precaution before bathing the kids. To her dismay, she was disgusted to find that the tub had dark filth coming off as she cleaned it, so who knows when the last time the shower/tub was properly cleaned.Breakfast was disappointing as well during this stay. After Saturday, they started running out of food. So from Sunday morning through Tuesday morning they didn’t have any yogurt, which the kids looked forward to eating each time, and didn’t have sausage, corned beef hash, or any other meats for that matter to put out. All they had left to put out for hot food were some eggs (although I saw a big can of corned beef hash in their kitchen but didn’t understand why they didn’t open it). They even started running out of certain breads. Meanwhile the dining attendant for Sunday through Tuesday wasn’t monitoring the food that they did have very well and food was not replenished frequently enough. She was seen often to be by the front desk talking with other employees more than anything (talking even about job fairs and finding new work). We saw the food supplier truck finally come the morning that we checked out - a little too late.I hope that they get their act together and that this is not the trend.
Credit card charged when it shouldnt have been creating a 45 minute check in experience after a very long day of traveling. Staff apologetic but didnt seem properly trained with the system. Breakfast was mediocre and the juice pitchers were warm. Overall unpleasant experience, dont recommend.
Clean room, friendly staff( we only dealt with one man and he was very nice), quiet area, right off highway, close to shopping and restaurants without the noise of being in the middle of everything. Worth the few minutes of a drive if traveling to Binghamton. Room was huge( cant say if the rest are the same). Would definitely stay there again if back in the area.
Extremely noisy hotel. Hotel booked a 2 busload sports team on same night. They found it necessary to scream, run up and down the halls and stairwells and slam doors all night long. Hotel staff (1 person at desk) did noting about it despite several call to complain. Also no seating or food was available in the breakfast area due to huge crowds. If hotel is going to book large groups, they need to have extra staff and supplies available.Don’t stay here if you value a good nights sleep!
The hotel was nice enough, but was far overpriced for what it is. The breakfast consisted of cereal, egg patties, and sausage patties. I think using egg patties is a really lazy form of breakfast food, and there are many other options that would be more satisfying. My room was on the first floor and was quite noisy during the night. I also could not access the wifi.
Advertised at $75-85 per night, actually $179.00/night! Checked in at midnight, was told by reservation clerk Bobby that they would not change for early check-in, was told by argumentative front desk clerk he talked to the Hotel owner who said to charge us anyway! Room had 2 as in ONLY TWO drawers to place clothes in. Too late at night to rebook somewhere else, had to accept the situation. Very rude and curt front desk clerk who isnt exactly a people person and treats senior citizens like dirt. Forget asking him (didnt get a name) for help with luggage, youll do whatever you need to just to get him to stop yelling! Its really a shame this place cant be rated under one 🌟star. Housekeeping staff was very nice so there was one bright light to the darkness of this TO BE AVOIDED hotel. Spoke to Bobby who while very nice could offer no remedy for the additional charges/doubling of room rates.
At the end of a fine stay, we reserved a room for our return trip a week later. There were 4 in our party and no 2 queen rooms available. Staff said that we could reserve a king and we would have a roll-away bed, and be put on a waiting list if a 2 queen became available. When we showed up, we did not have a 2 queen room and were told that no roll-aways were available. It was late and we had no options, so we were left with 2 people sleeping on the floor. The AC did not work in the room and the refrigerator barely cooled anything. The staff gave a meager aplology and charged us the full (high) price for the room. On returning home, I entered a complaint with corporate - got an email back saying that we would hear from them within 72 hours. Five days later weve heard nothing. It was a terrible stay and no one cares!
This comfort inn was seemingly brand new. It is bleak looking from the outside, but inside looks great. The hotel seems to be quality built (bedding, doors, bathroom). Great full breakfast, though coffee was weak. Hotel personnel were friendly and helpful. A bit expensive for being in the middle of nowhere (although very close to the highway).
Good place. Seem a lot newer inside then you think looking at the building. Staff have all been friendly other then I think the owner! But to hell with him! Only issue was the room I was placed in first was dirty. Not front desk fault but thats the risen for 4 and not 5 stars
We are on a road trip vacation and look for hotels as we go, through Choice Hotels. We chose this one last night because it was pet free even though it was a little out of our way and we are SO glad we did. This is a 5 star hotel with a 6 star manager, Cheryl. Talking with Cheryl felt like we were visiting family. We were very impressed with the amount and accessibility of electrical plugs for chargers, etc. My husband uses a CPAP machine and usually has to search for a place to plug it in, but not here - there was a plug on the lamp right by the bed. The beds were ultra comfortable, everything was spotless, the shower felt wonderful, plenty of towels, and the breakfast was tasty (especially the coffee) with real plates, cups, and silverware. We also had a delicious dinner at the Blue Dolphin right next door. I would love to come back to this hotel again and visit more places around that area.
Equipment needs to be upgraded as Internet service provides 50Mbps but router continues to disconnect devices. Operates like a residential router when hotel should be capable of supporting more than 5 devices at any given time. Would also be cautious of eating breakfast as temperatures for prepared foods are never kept where they should be thanks to faulty equipment they have in place.
New property, super well maintained. Not staffed by typical hotel type people but run by people who care about the guests. Extremely helpful staff, super clean hotel, breakfast offerings far above what is typical at the Comfort Inn level. Definitely a top pick in this chain.
Number of small things that add up: mini fridge door did not seal, food had to be thrown ou. Fitness center no towels, no antiseptic wipes or spray for equipment, fitness center water dispenser empty, lobby restroom paper towel dispenser empty with a common hotel room towel provided. Breakfast not sufficiently staffed or stocked, 1/2 way thru breakfast hours yogurt fridge empty, hot water empty then not hot.
Hotel, although quite new, seems very dirty and worn. Rooms are not well stocked and most of the lights were burned out. Breakfast was very minimal with very few choices and most of the main entree items were depleted and no one replenished anything. Another problem is hotel is very cheaply built. You can hear everything in other rooms all night. Hard to get any sleep at all. Not a good value for the amount paid. Would not stay here again.
I have already done so in a previous question and my general answers to tyour questions. This survey duplicates questions which makes it a bit annoying.however....our stay was excellent. the breakfast was not great......scrambled eggs tasted like synthetic eggs.there was no fresh fruit available, but we still think it is a great place to stay while on the road and we sould stay there again.
Have stayed at this property several times and it has always been quite noisy (Cheaply built, can hear people talking, etc in other rooms). Most recent stay, however, was over the top loud. There was a sports team staying that made ridiculous amounts of noise all night . Constant screaming, slamming doors, running up and down halls and stairwells.Despite multiple calls to the front desk, nothing was done about it and the noise continued all night. Also had no food or seating available in breakfsat area do to the large number of people. Will probably not stay here again.
I checked in late and was thankful for a room. The room was clean but needs a coat of paint. I couldnt get the temperature of the room cool enough so it made for an uncomfortable sleep. Along with the people above me. You can hear everything your neighbors do. The people above me were up and down all night. The people next to me had a loud TV. Not a horrible stay but noise is an issue
I found this last June when looking for hotels in the Triple Cities area of NY. Most hotels are closer to Binghamton than Endicott. This is located perfectly, right off the expressway, and very clean. I was most impressed with the staff. Very friendly and helpful for our multiple day stay in June, and even this one night stop in November. Told my husband, just he and I need to go back there for a few days. I was originally from Endicott, and as the saying goes, close enough, yet far enough away. I know I will be back there again.
Check in was easy and fast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and there was a good assortment of items to choose from. The Wi-Fi is free and easy to access. I am presently staying at the Apalachin Comfort Inn for 3 days and I am very satisfied and glad I chose this motel to stay at. It is quiet and peaceful and you can get a good nights rest. I highly recommend this motel if you are staying in the Apalachin, Oregon, Vestal, Binghamton area. The price is reasonable and easy access and there is an elevator for ease of access to the 2nd and 3rd floors. The overall appearance of the motel is very clean and well kept.
This was a very disappointing Comfort Inn. I have never dealt with so much noise from a room above, with scratching from a bed or whatever else was moving around as well as footsteps, and not because there was a wild party going on. I could also hear the crunch below my feet as I walked around my room. There is a definite problem in this hotel, or certain rooms anyway, with floorboards or what have you. Some remediation is called for. We were also given a cavernous room that was half empty. No extra couch to fill the space — nothing. Good if you want to have a catch or do some ballroom dancing, but otherwise unattractive. The hotel itself looks fine and the staff is helpful.
As a frequent traveler, I am growing more and more concerned about failure of the management to pay attention to detail. In a recent stay at this hotel, I booked a King Suite with points. The room was huge, however had a bed, one tiny stuffed chair, a desk and chair and an old dresser capable of holding a microwave and refrigerator, but without either. The refrigerator freezer was in the kitchen was so full of ice it was crushing a plastic ice cube tray and two bottles of water, obviously left for an extended period of time. These types of things are happening more and more frequently. It may be time to look at other convenient franchises. Perhaps Choice needs to consider more frequent quality checks?
If you stay here be sure to keep an eye on your credit card statement. I booked hotel using Choice rewards points, but hotel went and charged $88 to my credit card (in addition to deducting the points). They also ran thru an addition $56 for incidentals.I have called the hotel multiple times in an attempt to get this fixed and am always told the mgr is not available. I finally had to go to Choice Hotels corporate and my credit card issuer to get it straightened out.Bottom line, check your credit card transactions if you stay here, especially if you use reward points.
The new management is trying to come up to speed. Small things were overlooked but nothing that would make me not stay again. More coffee packets would be nice so I could have had a cup in the evening and in the morning. Maybe a check list for housekeeping would be helpful so little things are not overlooked.
Very much below expectations. Owner is not reinvesting to provide customer satisfaction. In a two bed room only one set of towels were provided, clock radio was broken and unplugged, breakfast was left overs and very skimpy, appliances were out of order, no cold offering (cereal, milk, hard eggs, etc.). Only positive is the proxility to the interstate.
I lost my wedding ring in the room, searched everywhere...staff called me an hour after I checked out and they had found it...i am very impressed with honesty of their staff and the fact that they took the time to dig through the trash to find it for me. I highly recommend the apalachin comfort inn. Very clean and amazing service. Thank you comfort inn for returning my ring to me!
Stayed here during covid 19 pandemic. Signs on all the doors (per state law) state that all guest entering building must have a facemask on, the person at the front desk and the 3 guest in the lobby did not have facemasks on, why bother putting the signs up. Then I get up to my room and find black mold on the curtains above the air conditioning unit. This place trys to give the appearance of clean bit comes up short.
The hotel is conveniently located right off the highway, next to a family restaurant and gas station. Staff is super friendly, the hotel was very clean, and the price wasnt bad. Id definitely recommend it if youre in the Apalachin NY area (or if youre just passing through and need a place to crash for the night)
The Comfort Inn in Apalachin, NY provided a welcoming respite to an exhausting move. We had just finished moving my mom out of her apartment and the Christmas decorations, beautiful lobby and welcoming staff made us feel very comfortable. The room was an oasis in a very stressful time. We will be back as it will be our home away from home when we visit relatives and friends in the area.
It was a nice hotel with high ceilings but the walls are paper thin. We were woken up early in the morning by a crying baby! I also didnt like how there was no food or beverage vending machine. The options for food close by was a gas station, Mc Donalds, a diner (which was not recommended) or Dunkin Donuts.
No one at front desk upon arrival. No roll-away bed as I requested 3 times in 3 different phone calls. Tired looking receptionist who greeted us at 4;30pm was the same tired looking chef/server at the 6;30am breakfast buffet the next morning. NO OTHER WORKER WAS SEEN ON PREMISES DURING OUR OVERNIGHT STAY.
THIS IS A NICE CLEAN BASIC HOTEL. IT IS ONLY A FEW YEARS OLD.THE WIFI WORK WELL. THE BREAKFAST IS GOOD BUT THEY DO NOT OFFER ANY GLUTEN FREE OR SPECIAL NEEDS OPTIONS FOR BREAKFAST.THE STAFF WAS VERY NICE. I WISH CHECK OUT TIME WAS NOON AND NOT 11am. NO POOL THAT I SAW.

2022-07-01Clean and unpretentious hotel with good free breakfast and free wifi, and very friendly staff. Overall a good place to rest on the road between New York and Niagara Falls.

2021-11-23This was our second stay at this hotel. We were pleased both times. It is clean and well kept. The employees are pleasant and helpful. Our 2-bed room was comfortable - no problems. The nearby diner is a good place for dinner.

2021-09-30For the price, the rooms should be a lot cleaner than they are. This place needs to hold itself to higher standards! The bathtub still had hair from the people before us, wasnt very clean, and the room smelled musty. I ended up finding a mushroom growing in the corner by the window! I even took a picture because I couldnt believe it. So gross. I told the hotel staff and all they said is, sorry, well look into it. Such a disappointing stay.

2021-09-26Hotel is located very conveniently off the highway in between Vestal and Owego and is not super far from the hustle and bustle of Vestal. I can avoid the traffic and stoplights and stores of Vestal… disconnect… and check in here for a comparable price to other less quality hotels further up 434 in town. Front desk clerks were friendly and accommodating and there’s a Perkins attached to the hotel for meals. Blue Dolphin, a staple of Appalachin for decades, also provides for good meals and relaxing downtime. Beds were comfortable and pillows were super soft (which I love). I will come here again when visiting friends as I just can’t beat it anywhere else.

2021-09-28This hotel is a bit dated. Amenities are not exceptional. Staff was friendly. Location was convenient as it was directly off route 17. There is a diner, a Perkins Pancakes, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, and a Speedway gas station convenience store walking distance from the hotel.

2021-06-02I had a great stay at the Comfort inn in apalachin. The staff was very warm and welcoming. The check in process was quick. The room was large and clean and had everything that I needed for my stay. The manager was friendly and very accommodating with suggestions on places to visit in the area. There are some great restaurants in within walking distance of the hotel. I will be staying here for all my future trips. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area!

2021-10-12Positive: Cleanliness of room and entire hotel Negative: Unfortunately the hotel booked a college hockey team that I believe was actually playing a game in the hallway at 3am. All I heard all night was doors slamming. Didnt get any sleep.

2021-09-12Positive: the front desk staff were excellent Negative: Pipes for the water sounded like the room had a leak , very annoying and could hear the water running and running. Room was not cleaned well , it was clean but found dirty water underneath the tray in the room , not a good effort
