Me and my husband went there from New Jersey driving so many miles with the confirmation that we have a reserved room. When we came at 8 pm the person there who was very nasty telling us ITS SOLD OUT. First time to have a confirmation to a SOLD OUT HOTEL. They treated us a garbage there…INHUMANE….so frustrating that there are people like that.ITS NOT ACCEPTABLE!
Overall, I had a great experience here. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I could hear the highway noise though from room 121. Compared to some of the other hotels I’ve stayed at recently, they had a pretty good continental breakfast. They had options like Jimmy Dean’s breakfast sandwiches, bananas, oranges, 3 types of cereal, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee, and more.
It was a typical Comfort Inn, no bells and whistles. It was clean, but looks dated. There is no bathtub, it is just a shower that looks like its wheelchair accessible, but still too small. The toilet is positioned too close to the wall. If you are a big person, good luck. Overall its a place to shower and sleep, thats it. Dont expect much. There is a rear parking lot for trucks with trailers, thats what I needed, thats the main reason we chose this place. No other places had a large enough lot.
BEWARE DONT STAY HEREI have stayed at many hotels located near highways and never was able to hear the traffic but at this location that is all I heard all night change my room but it was still on the same side of the hotel because they said that was all that was available the second room had a smoke smell and stains on the carpet old bar of used soap in the shower makes you think my worst night ever no sleep and had hours of travel ahead of me I will definitely never returnSpoke to the front desk in the morning wasnt helpful at all wish to speak to management wasnt availableMaybe someone will reach out to me but Im highly doubtfulTOTALLY DISAPPOINTEDSTAY AWAY
This hotel is conveniently located off the highway. My first impression was pulling into a parking lot littered with trash. Take out bags, beer bottles, pizza boxes, etc. The parking lot was mostly occupied by white work trucks so Im assuming this is a great location for construction/tradesmen workers. I guess they eat in the parking lot?My room was average. I think my nightly rate/total of $150.00 was a little high. My room was on the ground floor and the window did not have curtains that closed. There were transparent sheers on the window. There were faux curtains that framed the window but they didnt actually close. That made me feel very uncomfortable sleeping because cars were parked right outside my window and people walked through the parking lot at all hours of the night. No curtains? I dont understand that. In all fairness, the parking lot was cleaned up when I left in the morning.
Positive: Quiet and comfortable in the room. Negative: Rest. only open Mon. through Thurs. The area of the hotel was such that the local rest. didnt want to del. food at 8:30, on a weekend. The hottub had so much chlorine that it burned mouth, nose, eyes, coughing, when just stand. near. No note on HT.
TV & wireless internet OK. Furniture in decent shape. Room not clean though - dirty washcloth was left hanging from shower rod, tub has dirty film on it so its NOT being scrubbed thoroughly, only surface cleaned. Dust layer on hair dryer leads me to believe the room is not being cleaned very well or often.
Door cards needed to be unlocked several times. Ice bucket was NEVER emptied from the last guest before us! Towels were still wet in bathroom from previous guest. When we came back from a day out yesterday, the beds were made, but the door was unlocked & still partially open! There was a family with a cpl of young boys that the boys were screaming & yelling. Bed was comfy with a nice amount of pillows. Convenient location to shopping & downtown Albany. Plenty of parking close to entrance. Nice grab n go breakfast.
Very nice and clean hotel. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. There was an ice machine that we could get ice with they were cups in the room that made it convenient. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I wish is that the girl in the breakfast area this morning would’ve had a mask on
So I have had great experiences with this hotel, rooms are always clean, beds made everyday, and they are clean. HOWEVER. This man at the front desk is by far the most disgruntled worker I’ve ever met. I appear to be bothering him everytime I check in. I spoke to Manager last year about him, and he said he would resolve it.. nope.. just checked in and same guy working was a A$$hole!!! If his one job is to be kind to your guests and he can’t do it then something needs to be done. I really wanted to give this hotel 1 star because of this guy. If it wasn’t for him I would give 5/5
Cleanliness was top notch. Breakfast was a nice touch with a variety to choose from. It seemed safe coming and going. The only negatives (not really) were I wish the room had two chairs to watch TV at night when we got back to the room instead of lying in bed and I wish the room had a safe for laptops, electronics, etc.. as to not have to take everything with us when we went out. All in all, a very good experience and Ill be staying there again when need be.
This is a really great hotel, its right off the highway, super easy to access, and always meets or excels my expectations!. I had a reservation for only 1 night, but at last minute due to an emergency I needed to check in a day early, and within just a few minutes of getting onto the hotels website, I was able to add a second night with no issue and when I checked in the staff was extremely helpful in making sure everything was setup correctly even though it was last minute. The staff are always super helpful and cheerful no matter the time of day or night. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone
I stayed here in February 2020 and there was a mouse running around my room. When I contacted the front desk, they did not seem very bothered by it. I was told there were no other rooms available and that it was essentially my fault for having food in my room. I wasn’t able to speak to a manager when I saw the mouse or when I checked out, and corporate has been very unresponsive as well since the incident. I would not recommend this hotel or any Choice Hotel properties.
The Front Desk Service was great. However, overall: My hotel room had a bad scent to it that was able to be smelled in the hallway. The sheets were similar in scent. Towels were changed and bed was made but the room itself wasnt cleaned (vacuum or bathroom washed down). The restaurant attached service was horrible the first night. I went down at 7:30 and didnt receive my food until 8:40 and they close at 9pm. Food was good but the time was ridiculous.
Staff was friendly and helpful - accommodated our request for an extended late checkout. Hotel felt clean and well-kept. Have been here many times and seems like there is new ownership - they are trying hard and doing a good job. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
We usually stay at this hotel when visiting friends/family in the area. It is clean and comfortable. The staff is polite and competent, the breakfast area clean and adequate. We stayed in room 200, and the bathroom was spotless, even in the grouting. Although the inclusion of various softness levels of pillows is a very good touch, we suggest that the bedding be updated, maybe with a duvet. We havent seen a bed covered with a thin bedspread, even in a chain hotel, in a very long time. However, we would definitely recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone traveling to this area.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel common areas and room were clean. The pool and hot tub were clean and warm. Breakfast was fresh and had a good variety. There was a fridge and microwave in the room that worked well. There may be little things that bother some people like the bathroom door had a gap in it even when closed all the way, the light switch plate was screwed on crooked, and the shower head is lower with not a ton of water pressure. We were in town to visit family and I felt safe staying here and it was a good value for the night.
We have stayed here before and both times we were extremely satisfied with everything. Everything is so clean and the new renovations are looking good. Staff is excellent and friendly. They have some of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in at a hotel. I slept really good! The only thing that was a slight disappointment this time is that the jets in the hot tub were not working properly at full capacity like they did the first time we stayed. But that was a minor problem in our stay and will return again! The room rates are affordable and its great that breakfast is included in the price. It is easy to get to and out of the way of heavy traffic. Also there is a gas station you can see from the hotel on the opposite side of the road that has the lowest gas price in the area. This is now our first choice hotel when staying in the area. We will be staying more often as our daughter goes to a local college. Get the Choice Hotel app for your phone to book rooms easily and fast! And dont forget to sign up for their rewards program, its free and you can earn free nights stay.
We stayed here for my cousin’s wedding weekend along with other family members who also stayed there. Was clean and comfortable. Having a complimentary breakfast was nice and we also took advantage of the spacious lobby so we could all sit and chat with each other. Free coffee near the front desk was an added bonus. With it being an older hotel, I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was well maintained and clean. Definitely would recommend.
Very accommodating, GM, Ashish Tari very helpful, pleasant, nice and friendly, I highly recommend others to stay there. Ashish very good at what he does, hes also very kind and considerate. I hope that when my Sister in Christ is done with her treatments that maybe some day we will be able to visit for a vacation or just to get away, only thing I wish they would allow pets. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
For the area and a quick stay, the hotel is fine. The bed is surprisingly comfortable, breakfast is better than some (hello waffle maker!), and the staff is friendly. They do have the same, horrible, unsupportive pillows that most hotels, even fancy ones, have. Im waiting for a hotel to have pillow options. Also, if you happen to have the do not disturb sign up when the cleaning staff comes by, they dont come back later to check, so dont sleep in! Overall, its a good hotel, inexpensive, and a nice place to stay for a few nights.
Conveniently located in that part of town. Clean facility with a location adjacent to the highway. Noisy outside but not too much noise in the rooms. Difficult sometimes to make a left hand turn into the hotel because you have to cross a double yellow line. Comfortable rooms and bed with an adequate complimentary breakfast. Housekeeping didnt make up our room one day which we reported. Management made no effort to contact us back. We were just given a new set of towels. Front office personnel were extremely friendly and helpful for advise on directions and recommendations. Overall a no frills hotel thats fine for a short stay.
The overall experience at this hotel was excellent. It was very clean and fresh and the staff was quite helpful and friendly. They are undergoing renovations, but I almost wouldnt have known had they not posted notices apologizing for it. Everything I saw and used was brand new and in perfect working condition, including the fitness center. The only negative comment I have is that the breakfast was less than satisfying for someone who avoids dairy and bread products. Thats pretty much all there was for breakfast. The Belgian waffles smelled fantastic, but I dont eat them. Really, an offering of more appetizing fruit, eggs and breakfast meat would have made me happier. And decent coffee. I also stayed here on the weekend and found it shocking that the restaurant/lounge in the hotel is closed on weekends! That having been said, aside from breakfast, I really have no complaints. I was very pleased and will stay here again when visiting family in the area.
Location was great, Check in was great, rooms were OK. Pool and Hot tub area was very nice. Breakfast was horrible. Food quality was well below average compared to other chains that provide same type of breakfast items. Also the restaurant onsite is only open monday thru thursday. That makes 0 sense!!!! There is a bar there also thats closed on fridays and saturdays. Really? If you are looking for a place to stay close to downtown during the week this is the place . If you are there for a weekend I would look elsewhere.
The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast staff (Vicki) was very nice. We just wish there was more of a variety, such as scrambled eggs. My husband is diabetic, and they do offer sugar free maple syrup. There is only one elevator in the entire building. It really needs at least two. There are over 100 rooms but only 3 washers and 3 dryers. The restaurant/lounge is only open for a few hours in the evenings Mon-Fri. Most of us wanted to have a few drinks on the weekends so we could relax without having to take a taxi to the room. Some nights, the bartender closed 45 minutes early even though she had several customers. Extending hours would make guests happy and make more revenue for the hotel. The beds were comfortable. My service dogs were welcome. The wifi cut out periodically but was very fast otherwise. Overall, its a decent hotel.
This hotel was easy to get to. The room and the entire hotel is clean and the service was great. My daughter used the hot tub and reported it as excellent. Breakfast was good. Lots of choices. We were in town for a concert. We especially appreciated that there was no gouging on the room rate.
This is a very nice hotel. This hotel is well-maintained and the workers are very pleasant. I had car trouble‘s and patrol truck driver drop me off at the hotel last minute. I called choice hotels and was able to get a nice rate. I knew I was already going to pay a fortune to get my car repaired and I was pleased to know this would also be a fortune.
We needed a place to stay overnight for our sons visiting day at a camp 30 minutes away. Most rooms closer where booked up. We chose this place as the closest available at a decent price with above average reviews. Overall it fit the bill and we were pleased with a comfortable stay. The negatives were a room starting show signs of wear, a slow drain in the tub, making you stand in several inches of water when showering and the breakfast station was understaffed with food items getting low as the hotel was booked to capacity and not able to handle the flow of guests. It was tolerable and likely not the norm.
The price and location are good. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was good with lots of choices. I would stay there again. If you are sensitive to forced air heat...there is no thermostat on the wall to turn heat off and on, so the air just keeps blowing until you turn the unit off.
Everything was great at first. The check in people were fantastic, hotel itself seemed nice enough, room was good. Then today a mouse was seen in our room. We contacted the hotel right away and it was just a disaster. Apparently this is a common thing here???? They put down a sticky trap, made comments about us having food in the room (theres a hotel fridge in the room so I think its okay to have food), and made more comments about having clothes on the floor (Didnt realize a mouse would be wondering through the room so didnt tidy up for the staff). I would stay elsewhere if you can.
My family has been traveling to this area for years and has always stayed at this hotel. The service is professional, courteous and friendly. The rooms are large and beds are comfortable. Free cable, wifi and pool is a plus. Their continental breakfast offers a variety of foods, all of which is very good. The same woman has been running the dining area for many years and she is very friendly and helpful. It is a very quiet place to stay and located close to areas of interest to visit as well as highways to travel. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place in this area.
First, the good. The room was clean, and the breakfast room was clean, well-maintained, and as satisfactory as always in its offerings. We have stayed at this hotel many times and have come to rely upon it when visiting Glenmont, but this time we were surprised. Room 220 is not comfortably large enough to accommodate two queen sized beds and 3 adults . Although there is a nice sized bench for luggage, the chair at the desk is the only chair in the room. There is a dated-looking wardrobe that takes up too much room in the corner. No hook on the back of the bathroom door, no stool, bench, or shelf in the bathroom, therefore no place to put anything. The beds were also not as comfortable as those in other rooms in this hotel that we have stayed in previously. We were only booked for one night, so we managed. But we did wonder why this room was given to us when the hotel was mostly empty.
Rented 3 rooms for 12 family members ranging in age from 4 to 62 as a base to go to Howes caves. Check in was quick and easy. Everyone hit the pool and hot tub which was really nice after a long drive from South Shore Mass. Beds were very comfy so we had a great nights sleep. Room had a fridge and microwave so everyone could have a midnight snack. The hot breakfast included two kinds of HUGE, make your own waffles, eggs, bacon one day and sausage patties the next. Waffles were great! Eggs and bacon were not that great but there was enough variety that it wasnt a big deal - lots to choose from including fresh fruit, yogurts, boiled eggs, toast, english muffins, cereals, granola, bagels cream cheese, coffee, milk , etc... If we had taken 12 people out for that same breakfast for two days we would have spent a lot of money. Its not a high-end motel but neither is the price. If you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay this will fit your needs. The hot tub and pool makes it really fun if travelling with kids.Friendly staff.Check out was effortless. We had a pleasant stay which didnt break the budget, allowing me to take everyone on a mini vacation.
This hotel was decently lower priced than many in Albany during a very popular Summer weekend in July. Originally I started driving to it from downtown Albany and I went through some sketchy parts of the city. I was beginning to wonder whether this hotel would be located in these areas. However I was pleasantly surprised to see that is is far enough away from the city to be in a very safe nice location. Everything else was great. Comfortable clean room. Good breakfast. I would definitely stay there again.
The members of my family had 5 rooms, and we were all extremely happy with our accommodations. The staff worked very hard to get our rooms ready for an early check-in so we could attend a family event nearby. The beds and bedding were excellent quality and very comfortable. It was quiet, and we had a great nights sleep after a long day of travel and socializing. Eight of us enjoyed a delicious breakfast together the next morning before we had to go our separate ways. Fresh fruit, several kinds of juice, cereals, bagels, pastries, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage and breads--there was a generous variety of offerings, which was surprising for a free breakfast. The restaurant attendant kept everything neat, clean, and replenished for all guests.
The front desk man was very polite and welcoming when we checked in. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. The had a modern TV with a good amount of channels and there was a fridge and microwave. The hotel is across the street from a convenience store is only $10 Uber ride away from downtown Albany. The pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained as were the outside grounds. Breakfast was the usual yogurt, fruit, cereal, waffles, bread, pastries, English Muffins, eggs and sausage which all was replenished as needed. The bad parts were the room was damp and had a peculiar odor. Also we saw housekeeping working down the hall from us and appeared to be working in the opposite direction from our room. I asked if she was going to do our room and she said no, but did said she would exchange our used towels for clean if I brought them to them. They also gave us more soap, shampoo and conditioner. So be prepared to track housekeeping down to get towels and supplies and do not expect your bed to made, trash emptied or your room to be cleaned during your stay.
The hotel was fine nothing particularly special, the pool was closed for some reason. The bar/restaurant is only open Monday- Friday and not on the weekends. The lady at the front desk when I checked in and out was very friendly. The following day I noticed a $300 charge on my account. I called the hotel and spoke to an unfriendly gentlemen who claimed to be the manager. He told me the charge was for smoking. When neither my friend or I have ever smoked. He pretty much called me a liar and then told me that someone must have gone in to the room and smoked. Which would have been impossible. He said the room had to be cleaned. Which I would assume it would have been cleaned when we left. When he was asked about proof the room had to be cleaned or proof that someone had smoked in there he had no answer. I appreciate the Non-smoking rule as I am not a smoker. However I was not happy with how I was treated. The hotel was not worth over a $300 stay. I will not be returning.
This hotel was exactly what I expected and needed for a quick overnight stay. The room was clean, comfortable and convenient off the highway. The only thing that was not good was the fact that the in-room wifi was not working when we arrived. We were made aware of this upon checking in from a sign posted at the desk. I asked the desk clerk about this and he simply told us that its true - its not working. I then asked about wi-fi in the lobby area and he told me it was working there as well as in their business center. That was good, but he should have told me that rather than me having to ask about it. And a simple apology for the inconvenience would have been nice, rather than his attitude that I was just annoying him about asking about the wi-fi. Some of us have businesses to run even when were not there, so its more than just an inconvenience. Other than that, the hotel was fine and everything I expected and needed.
Overall, our recent 1 night stay at the Comfort Inn, Glenmont NY was a very good stay. While the property is aging, and it shows in some of the finishes, our room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower and water pressure were all good. Nice massage shower head also. The breakfast bar was also very nicely stocked with eggs, sausage, a selection of pastries, bagels and muffins, make-your-own waffles, cereal, milk - really everything we would want. The front desk staff took care of business and we were in and out very quickly. Having stayed in the area the week prior, I had a much larger room, with better trained staff in a far newer property for significantly lower rate.
This is a standard, simple hotel with regular amenities. The bathroom has a small hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion. However, the shower water doesnt get hot; its lukewarm. The breakfast is pretty good for a regular hotel. For hot food, there are fried eggs, bacon, and a waffle machine. There are also breads, cereals, yogurts, etc. Its a non-smoking hotel also. The staff was friendly, and the room was comfortable. My husband thought the pillows were too soft, though. Also, one morning we had our do not disturb sign on the door until 10 a.m., and they never came back to clean our room.
As soon as we arrived we noticed how clean it looked. How clean it smelled. Even though we only stayed one night I had a chance to check all their amenities. The pool and hot tub area were clean and water was at a perfect temperature. The bathroom was impecable. The gym had new machines and they all seemed to work. Our room was perfect as well. Beds were soft and comfortable
We had a very nice night at the hotel. It was quiet, and the lobby was nicely renovated and clean. The room was clean and everything was nice and new. Even though the breakfast room was being renovated, they had another set up and it was fine. Everyone was friendly. I would recommend the hotel if you needed a place to stay in the area.
The hotel is very big, with a really nice lobby. It has lots of nice features, including an indoor pool and whirlpool, equipped with handicapped lifts. The place is very clean. The pool is a bit on the small side, could be an issue if a busy family weekend, but beautiful space for meetings. We were very happy with our stay. Prices very reasonable.
We were in town for a concert at Times Union Center and stayed one night. The accommodation itself was fine, but the taxi situation getting back from the show and then to town for our train the next morning was tough. That said, the front desk staff did all they could to help us out with that situation. They were really great. In the future, I hope the management will consider offering some kind of shuttle service for big-name shows. Personally, Id have no problem paying an extra fee to be guaranteed a lift back. A huge percentage of the people staying at the hotel were obviously there for the concert, so Im sure others would also have loved a shuttle option, even if they had to pay.
I took a group of 41 seniors to stay at this Comfort Inn and this place is NOT senior friendly. One of the toilets did not work properly upon check in, the person went to the desk to ask for help. She was given a plunger to unclog the toilet. Also, the man on the desk told her not to forget to bring the plunger back. Also, another room had septic flies coming from the bathroom sink. Another room had dried toothpaste stuck in their bathroom sink. Im giving one star but it was not even worth that. They say there is WIFI in the room but it is only in the lobby. This place is a dive. Move on and find a better place to stay!
This was a GREAT hotel and we had a very large, spacious room, which was clean and updated nicely. Especially loved the two separate sinks. The staff at the desk was fun and helpful and it was a wonderful experience to stay with you. The beds were great, the hot breakfast was very good, and we thank you for everything you did to make this the best hotel of our past twelve nights of travel.
This motel is fine for a quick stay, but there is definitely room for improvement. My room reeked of mildew and had a few stains on the carpet. Hallways also reeked of smoke. Otherwise, everything else was fine - bed was firm/comfy, washroom was clean and friendly staff.Be aware that breakfast starts at 6:30.
The room was very nice, good sized and CLEAN! The bed and pillows were very comfortable as both of us slept through the whole night. The staff is very friend as well. Our room had a 3 shelf sized mini fridge, small microwave, ~32 TV and plenty of drawers and cabinets to put our stuff. There was also a lounge chair with an ottoman.Clean, quiet and friendly - cant beat that. Its AAA Platinum rated, fyi!
I stayed here with my 2 kids overnight after visiting relatives in the area earlier in the day. The hotel was really nice and well kept. They have a pool and fitness center. I arrived late so these amenities were closed and I left early in the morning so I was unable to use them. We did however have the breakfast. The breakfast consists of the standard items you would find in a deluxe continental breakfast. While its not great, its still good enough to get you going in the morning. The breakfast attendant was very polite and friendly. She kept the area clean and tidy. Overall it was great. I have no real complaints. I would definitely return.
Found a bed bug in room 216 on 12/5/2017. There are several other reports on the bed bug registry. Shame on me for not checking it first. It was evident that they are use to dealing with them. This hotel has potential but is not well kept. The staff appears to be low budget thus that is the product they are producing. The office chair in my room was broken. The eggs they serve at breakfast could not be more disgusting. They didnt even taste real. Never again..
We saw this hotel from the thruway and decided to give it a try. The toll booth operator gave us easy directions and we got the last room available that night. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. There were no noise problems, and the free breakfast was hot and tasty with an attentive staff member there also.
Stay was good - service was good when needed. This is basic accommodations. The rooms are clean and comfortable but somewhat small and tight. Would be nice to have more than one chair in the room as I was traveling with my wife so spending any amount of time in the room didnt make it totally comfortable.
The Comfort Inn was in a great location very close to major NYS throughways and interstate roads. The hotel is pleasant and fairly modern with facility and accommodations. The breakfast offered was perfect start to my day. The room was clean with two comfortable Queen sized beds that made for a restful night.
The bed was very comfortable, we were able to change our room upon arrival to a king size bed, rather than 2 queens we were booked into. The staff was friendly, everything was neat and tidy. We did not take advantage of the free breakfast because we were meeting other family members who were not staying at this hotel.
When we arrived in our room I set my toiletries down in the bathroom. I noticed there was dried urine and pubic hair on the toilet seat. I can let a lot go, but this was significant and disgusting to see. It was not small and obviously the bathroom had not been cleaned thoroughly, if at all. I called down to the front desk and the man who checked me in said Oh, I will come clean it. He showed up at my door empty handed. I was confused but I thought maybe he was just going to look so he could assign a cleaning staff to take care of the problem. So I let him in and he went into the bathroom and flushed the toilet, I pointed and said Its not IN the toilet its dried urine and pubic hair ON the seat. He motioned for me to leave. So he closed the bathroom door I heard the water running. He came out a minute later and said Its done. Shocked, I said What did you clean it with? He said Its not a big deal, and left. I was appalled. Shocked. Horrified. I did not know what to do. Clearly he was the person in charge as he was also supervising breakfast the next morning. No Im sorry, no offer of a clean room, no offer of a refund, not even a smile. In addition the sheets had a stain on them that I tried not to think about, there were stains on the bathroom floor as well. This room was NOT clean. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and I will discourage everyone I can from staying here.
We arrived late in the night around 9:30. The hotel staff person was sorry for not being at the desk when we arrived but he was diligent in general. The lobby area and breakfast areas are clean and breakfast is what was expected and well staffed. Our 1st floor hallway at the back of the building was dark, entrance smelled like smoke and our room right near the entrance smelled like smoke upon arrival. Too late to complain as we had 3 kids needing to get to bed. Loud AC, Loud trucks and their drivers in the early am right outside our door. I felt as if the room was dated and could be cleaner and with more light. Overall not the worst place to stay right off the highway, but I would probably not stay again.
I have generally come to avoid Comfort Inns, but this particular one appears to be better managed than many that I believe have gone downhill over the last 15 years. The room was clean and nicely furnished. The lobby, pool area, breakfast room and corridors were attractive. The staff was very attentive (including the front desk and breakfast area). The quality of landscaping on the outside was noteworthy. Even though the hotel was undergoing renovations, we were not disrupted by any activity. The only bad thing was the strange room (shampooed carpet?) smell only on our first night.
Let me just start by saying the staff was very friendly but that’s where the good ends. Upon checking in our room had an awful smell that could not be tolerated. Our room was promptly changed without hassle. The new room had a tolerable smell. If I had to describe it I would say musty but trying to cover the musty smell. The new room had cobwebs and a few dead bugs. There was also some garbage such as a Tito’s bottle under a chair and some clothing tags. The pool was crowded with rowdy teenage boys the whole afternoon/evening and my family could not get in comfortably with small children. Every time we asked for washcloths we were given hand towels and told there were no washcloths. There were parties in the hallway all night and at 2am people were knocking on our door thinking it was their room. We woke up and went to breakfast. On our way we got to walk through a cloud of Marajuana smoke. It was also obvious people had smoked cigarettes recently in this hotel. Breakfast was crowded understaffed and under stocked. Not worth going. While the staff was courteous about our complaints it was completely obvious they could care less and do what they had to to make go away quietly. Hands down the WORST hotel stay I have ever had and we travel often!!
The staff was nice the room was terrible it stunk from smoke the first time I use the facility I had to get a plunger Because the toilet backed up I didn’t get the room I originally asked for the entrance that I used to get to my room had people sitting outside smoking pot so I’m very I’m pleased with the way this hotel has declinedI have stayed there years ago and was pleased with it this was a terrible experience
I have stayed here twice 1st time was a good stay had no problems I was on the 2nd floor. The 2nd time was a disaster my 1st room seemed clean and didnt have a too bad of an odor but I looked on the desk and saw a furry little rodent looking back at me... yep it was a mouse... asked for a different room and when I got in there the bathroom was gross shavingings in the sink and the toilet wasnt flushed... yep someone left a floater..... went to 3rd room and it was acceptable... The staff there is really nice and understanding they just need better cleaning staff......
The hotel was laid out nicely and the lobby was large and clean. The rooms were also clean but they had a musty smell to them and the heating system produced terrible smells so bad that we slept in the cold without the heat for the night. Breakfast, which started over 30 minutes late, consisted of undercooked sausage and eggs and the staff inside of it smelled terribly of beer and liquor. I would definitely not stay at this particular location again.
This was THE nicest place weve stayed yet all year. Was beyond our expectations. Especially the bathroom tub/shower design. ALL hotels should follow your lead with the grab bars that are so very needed for older persons. Bravo! The hotel we stayed at in upper VT needed that design.
This was the worst place weve stayed. If wed have been there an hour earlier wed have left but we were too tired to drive anymore. There were chunks of stuff on the floor, a large screw sticking out of the wall at ankle hight, hair in the tub, and stains on the towels. Blech. (Some of these we didnt see until the next morning because we were so tired.) The sheets seemed clean but they were wrinkly, like they sat in the dryer too long not like they hadnt been changed,, and the fitted sheet was inside out. After all of that I was not really expecting much for breakfast but since its different staff that cook and clean I decided to check it out. Yeah, no. There was food on every surface, food all over the floor, burnt waffle stuck to the waffle maker, etc. I turned around and walked out, we packed up our things and got out of there!Comfort Inn is typically a favorite of ours. This was definitely not a good experience though.
We got a coupon for this place after travelling for hours, the coupon was supposed to be for 89$ but she would not accept it because it was too busy ? I would of never payed what I payed for this place had we not been exhausted. When we entered the hallway I was pretty nervous because they were so dirty. Once we got to our room I was happy, for the most part it was clean and comfortable the only bad thing was there was a gap about 1 1/2 inches from the floor to the door. Breakfast was very basic. Like I said it was ok.
Nice motel, looks better on the inside than the outside. Very close to exit 23 on NYS Thruway. Room was clean and pleasantly decorated, though the lighting was a bit anemic. Decent indoor pool and hot tub, and basic but very usable fitness room. Theres an on-site restaurant with limited hours, but I havent tried that yet. Breakfast is available until 9:30 am and features typical motel fare in a clean, pleasant area. There seemed to be many families with children staying at the motel. The guest laundry facilities were clean and very reasonable priced. Motel website claims it offers lowest price but I found a slightly better price on PriceLine.
Check-in staff very nice hotel was very quiet, noise at a minimum. parking is very accessible and it is right off the highway. check out is no problem. hot tub is working. bed is nicely made, having a microwave is nice, and they even hd tea which many hotels do not have.
The hotel is clean and convenient. Be aware that the drapes do not close completely so if there is a parking lot light it will shine in the window during the night. The breakfast is standard fare. The usual bread items, yogurt, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a good place to stay between point A and point B.
Hotel was undergoing renovations but did not appear to disrupt any services. Professional staff, helpfull & cheery. I would stay here again. One thing nice about the breakfast is that it opened earlier than advertised which was helpful to those having to start their day earlier. Frig and microwave in the rooms are always a plus when u have family along.
My stay involved an unexpected family funeral. The staff were excellent! Caring, considerate, accommodating, respectful and more kind than possibly could be expected. The room was clean, comfortable and a safe haven in a trying time. I couldnt have asked for a better place to stay or better treatment from staff.
Great heated pool for relaxing and moving around in - sorry to lap swimmers and divers - not that big of a poolNot fancy but perfect for my break from the daily grind while on a budget. But even without the budget I would stay again because the pool was perfect for me, I loved the hot tub and the mini fridge and microwave made things helpful..Loved the make your own Waffles w/ syrup at the included continental breakfast w/ a chafing pan with some type of egg and meatAll the staff we interacted with were nice and helpfulThe bed was comfy (not too soft)Clean lobby with a very real looking fireplace sadly the lobby lights could not dim (wish the firepalce were in my room;)
Expected a clean fresh smelling room. It wasnt. Expected a working bathroom fan, there wasnt. Expected to use discount coupon from highway visitor center, we couldnt. Staff was friendly but they didnt have to sleep in a musty room. Lobby was nice. Location convenient but I will NOT return.
It is easy to reserve a room on line or over the phone. Staff could not be more accommodating thru media or in person. It is clean, comfortable, and most importantly affordable! The remodel is beautiful. The lobby is stunning and the rooms are very attractive. Great place for a single, couple or family!
This hotel is not clean. when I turned down the beds in my room there were hairs all over the sheets. I was given a new room and there were hairs all over the sheets in that room. The 3rd room i received was better but still not up to standards as there was a stain on the sheets and the room smelled musty. The breakfast and coffee was horrible. I had to go to Cumberland Farms across the street for coffee every morning and breakfast.
Excellent from sign-in with Miss Olivia, new my name all paper work in order. Then directed to a clean comfortable room which was quiet, dark, very conducive to a good night sleep. The free breakfast with quality offerings which I enjoyed during my stay. Checkout was a breeze, Will continue being a loyal customer.John Behan RM107
Spend your money elsewhere. The check in process took a very long time because there was only one person working the desk and she kept having to stop what she was doing to answer the phone. Then, our room was dirty. There were make up stains on pillowcases and towels. There was so much dust/grime in the corner of the bathroom, we wondered if it has even been cleaned. The walls are also very thin and you could hear everything happening on your floor. Definitely staying elsewhere next time we are in the area!
We stayed at the Comfort in Glenmont NY and it was a very nice hotel. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast had many choices. The hotel itself was very clean. The only thing I did not like was that the restaurant was not open on the weekends which I thought was strange. That is when I would think it would be open.
Staff was friendly/helpful. Room was clean. AC/heat until was a little musty smelling & my 2 year old turned the heat on momentarily which was quite smelly. Pool was dirty though, found clumps of hair floating around in the pool, which definitely shortened our stay in it. Did not eat at the hotel, went to a diner just down the road for breakfast which was great!
Starting on a positive, the young man at the front desk (well, the makeshift front desk as the real one was being remodeled) was polite, accommodating and helpful. The facilities smelled recently painted which coincides with the remodeling.Water pressure was good, room reasonably clean but bathroom door had to be slammed in order for it to latch closed. Im sure those staying in adjacent rooms didnt appreciate that in the middle of the night.Breakfast was typical with one exception....there was a tip basket on top of the only waste can in the room. One had to see it in order to discard paper plates and cups. Assuming the lady is paid a wage, Im at a loss what the tip is for....I get my own food and clean off my own table. Ive NEVER seen this in a Choice property and found it a little tacky to be honest. Really left a bad impression at the end of our stay. The room is priced on the high side for a Comfort Inn of its caliber so asking for tips, too seems garish.
The lobby is the nicest part of this Hotel. The room was not clean and the maid staff was poorly trained. When we saw them put the bed pillows on the floor to make the bed that sealed the review for me. Before that moment this hotel was a 4 out of ten. We would never stay here again.
We changed rooms a few times, as we are early-to-bed people. We moved because a family was renting five rooms in a group, and they kept going back and forth between doors, with lots of slamming. The second time, we moved because there was a group of workers who frequented this hotel and were very comfortable here, shouting up and down the hall to each other at 6 p.m., which is fine in your own house, but upsetting for people who are getting ready for bed. After much regret and a feeling of guilt for asking, we moved again to another, much quieter room. The only downside is that the bathtub drain did not properly plug. Having put them through a rough time, I did not feel good about bringing up a maintenance issue at that point. I must say that this was the single most difficult time staying at this hotel. In spite of that, the staff was lovely and accommodating, and I commend them for that. Thank you so much.
A decent experience but the stay was on new years eve and the breakfast new years day was only until 9;30 am. We arrived 9:45 and were denied. Disappointing. We could have stayed at friends if we were not looking forward to the hot breakfast before we hit the road.A hotel should take into consideration and make some accommodation at certain times of the year and an extended breakfast time on new years day sounds reasonable. We couldnt even get a cup of juice
Nice room. Liked the pool and hot tub. Variety for breakfast wasnt just carbs.Loud and opinionated blonde in charge of the breakfast bar spent 10 minutes voicing her political stance. Very annoying. The room was the most expensive on our cross country journey, so I especially wasnt appreciative of her interference with my breakfast time.
This motel is almost ideally situated for anyone coming to Albany, NY. Its a short distance from NY State Thruway exit 23, as well as the 787 expressway to Albany and Troy. Its only 20 minutes (non rush hour) from Albany International Airport, and 10-15 minutes from Amtraks Rensselaer station. It has easy access to a number of attractions in the immediate area, including shopping and dining. The rooms and the facilities were quite satisfactory. The Inn is equipped to handle persons with limited mobility, a plus for seniors. The staff is very helpful. We had a large family gathering over the weekend for a family birthday celebration. We were able to get a group discount for the rooms, and the Inn was able to put on an excellent buffet birthday dinner. Everyone had a good time and was quite happy with the choice of hotel.
This is my familys third time staying at the Comfort Inn. We have never been disappointed. The rooms are extremely clean, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the location is convenient. The breakfast is not fancy, but a perfectly adequate continental breakfast with good coffee.
Excellent hotel, very close to downtown and you dont have to pay for parking! Very clean, the people are very nice, the restaurant food was very good (and the drinks were great too). The first stay I was on the front side of the hotel and it was wonderful, the second stay, I had a room on the back side and there was a good amount of highway noise, but nothing really keeping me awake at night. I will certainly stay here again whenever I need to be in Albany!
I travel in-frequently now, but will travel frequently in the future and Ive started to establish a metric of what I expect in a national hotel chain. I must have a comfortable bed with crispy clean sheets and lots of pillows. So far over the past 12+ months... Comfort Inn has met my expectation. They could improve on breakfast, but I certainly wont complain about my bed and room.
My experience at Comfort Inn started as soon as I walked through the front door. The attendant at the reception desk was very polite and cordial. I found my room to be fantastic. The staff was very glad and prompt to help me whenever I needed assistance. It was very peaceful and quiet at all times, and my room was very clean. I left Comfort Inn with a very warm and satisfying feeling.
For the money the hotel is ok. Stay there because it is very cose to where we go for Thanksgiving. It is clean. Walls are thin so hallway and outside noise are easily heard. The breakfast food was terrible. Didnt even go down the second morning. Eggs were dry, pasteries stale and the bananas were brown. Gym is small and equipment is worn.
Even though our room was clean and comfortable, despite it being tagged No Smoking there was the faint lingering odor of cigarette smoke, especially in the linens and pillows. Although I am not allergic to second-hand smoke, it took until late the in the afternoon after we checked out for my sinuses to clear up. The desk clerk claimed the problem was because our second-floor room was above a smoking room, but later in the month the entire hotel would be non-smoking. Nice, but it didnt make our smoke-infused stay any better. Unless the on-going renovations (which werent a problem for us) totally re-does carpets, paint & wallpaper, beds, etc., there will probably still be a trace of smoke odor.Other than that, the hotel was a convenient stopping point on our trip.
Close to family, but will have to find another place to stay. The room wasnt cleaned by mid-afternoon and trying to get someone with the command of the English language was impossible but management assured me the room would be cleaned. Returned late in the evening and the room was still in the same condition. Spoke to the main desk and the attitude was lackluster but was given a fresh set of towels.
We stayed here to attend a show at Times Union Center. Good location, quick uber ride to the venue. The rooms were updated but the bed was so uncomfortable, my husband & I barely slept and woke up with horrible back pain. Also, the restaurant in the hotel is only open Monday-Thursday which is rather inconvenient. Rate was ok but would not recommend it for the beds specifically.
Stay here often when theres a snow storm and I have to work double shifts down the road. It is comfortable and suitable for these purposes. I havent had any issues with the staff and everything is always clean. I recommend it if you need a clean and safe place to stay on your way to other places.
I visited the Comfort Inn in Albany NY and had a pleasant experience. I cant say much about the service because I didnt need to interact with the staff that much, but the people who checked me in/out were polite. The room was clean and has enough space for my needs of staying just overnight. Im not sure theres enough space for 4 people though, which was the accommodation amount. I wish there was more time for breakfast lol. It was overall a nice experience. I can see myself going back.
This was our second visit at the Comfort Inn in Glenmont, NY. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms and was very pleased. The only thing that was a negative was that we were situated all the way at the end of the hall and the hallway door made a lot of noise as people came in and out. I understand that the hotel staff selected this room so that we would not be bothered by the workers currently renovating the hotel which I fully appreciate: I would still choose this room over one that was near the work. Hopefully, at our next stay in October all renovations will be completed.
The concierge was personable and professional; the gentleman who took care of us @ breakfast was courteous and considerate. Normally the TV is blaring and the news is sometimes inappropriate to young viewers. He had the volume on low and it was a show of positive human interest stories. I gave the gentleman a nice tip because he paid attention to details.
Unfortunately, my room had three mice in it running around under the beds and behind the fridge. I went down to the front desk to get help, and they did little to actually resolve the issue. Maintenance crew went to check the room, said they found nothing and no evidence, and that it was my fault that mice were in the room because I had food (gold fish and chips both in closed/sealed containers). They went to Walmart and bought sticky traps for the mice and put them around the room in case the mice came back. So I was made to stay in a room where there was mice, I was blamed for the problem (when any normal person would come to the conclusion that my food, which had been there for a day, could not have possibly drawn a group of mice into the hotel when they werent already here) and the management basically had no idea what to do. Completely incompetent. Hotels are disgusting; nothing more miserable than paying for a space and having to deal with literal vermin.
Obviously once a smoking room. I am allergic and it caused respiratory issues. I asked the front desk if I could move and was told that none of the rooms are smoking and there is no smoke smell in my room.I called about a week in advance to add a night. When I contacted the hotel directly, I received an automated error message directing me to call an 800 number. The rep told me to call the hotel. When I explained that number is not working, the rep told me to call another 800 number, which lead back to the same rep, who still could not help. She told me to try a different prompt. When I did, I could not get through to anyone. I was on hold for about forty minutes. While on hold, a message repeatedly told me I could e-mail. When I could not stand to hear that message any longer, I decided to try e-mail. I never received a response. I tried a different e-mail address. I finally received a response a day after the night I was trying to add. Further, the message just stated that because the reservation was made online, I couldnt change the dates. No one ever addressed whether or not I could add a night. Not even a no. Thankfully another hotel was able to accommodate me last minute. It was made abundantly clear to me that customer service and satisfaction is not at all a priority. I will not be staying at any Choice Hotels in the future.
My stay at the Comfort Inn in Glenmont, Ny was great. The front desk was very professional and my check-in/out process was fast. The room was clean and spacious and the free wi-fi made it possible to connect to my colleauge at work. The free breakfeast was also an added bonus and the variety of food was geat.I will reccomend the Comfort Inn to everyone that is looking for a nice clean and quiet place.
Staff was great, very friendly, helpful and polite. The atmosphere is totally utilitarian and seems to shout cheap from the fake plants to the wall decor and colors. Extremely inconvenient lay out and breakfast food was typical, mostly bad carbs. All in all, this hotel seems more like some sort of sterile, public building, bland and unappealing.
I stay here often as it is convenient for my purpose of visiting the area. The hotel reception staff are excellent however the housekeeping staff are not. Room as well as bathroom not cleaned as it should be. In fact one day they missed my room completely. Very annoying.
We blocked 10 rooms for a softball tournament this last weekend and EVERYONE of our parents had problems with the rooms. They smelled terrible! So much so, one of the moms couldnt even stay in her room. Another family had water dripping in their room and had to be moved. They overbooked the hotel for the weekend. Breakfast was terrible and the pool was not heated and the Pub was closed. I am not sure if it is because of the construction but I would never stay at this hotel again. I will make sure the other teams from our area know not to as well. This is an annual event that we attend and I am disappointed in the nightmare we ALL dealt with this weekend. The only positive was the friendly staff but the manager was not available to speak with because he was never there.
I found my room smelled because the A/c unit was leaking into room and saturated the rug. The toilet was broken and had to have maintenance come and fix it. I had to change room from the smell. It was so bad. There wasnt anywhere to sit in the breakfast area. It was small and crowded. I was very unhappy with my stay.
Very nice place to stay; was attending granddaughters softball tournament, so it was very centrally-located. A good selection of Breakfast items -- even those who may have diabetic needs (spouse); work-out room a little compact, but did not affect my 15-20 minute workouts; pool is little small -- especially when filled with 10-15 softball players; every staff member I encountered, be it front-desk, cleaning, maintenance -- any of them -- were extremely polite, friendly and professional -- it was an enjoyable stay -- thank you!
I was very pleased with my stay at the Comfort Inn. It was much better than I had expected. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and I felt safe and secure there. The staff was very pleasant. I would definitely return here again and recommend this location to anyone visiting the area.
Rooms smell really bad. I was expecting a real nice room as I have had good experiences in the past with Comfort Inns in other parts of the country. Will look for a different hotel next time Im up in that area. Breakfast was pretty bad as well. Had a stomach ache all day. Until they make improvements, look elsewhere. One of the guys with us said he almost went out to the car and slept.
We were placed at the very end of the hotel from the main entrance, on the second floor. 3 elderly people in 2 rooms. It was a very, very, very, very long walk from the elevator. The one flight of stairs was not too bad. There should be handy cap parking places at each door.
When you go inside one Id the rooms, the beds are comfy, rooms are clean, and the people in the front desk were nice, but in our room we found a tick in one of the couch pillows and the people next door were noisy and still talking stuff all night which was annoying I wish I could give this place 5 stars, but the hotel needs a bit of attention with the people and cleanliness of the rooms.

2022-02-07Price was great, location great, service horrible. When i went to check in Vijay had no clue what to do. Kept telling me to use my CC when i told him i already pre-paid. Accidentally booked a handicap room and told him i wanted it changed because i was not handicapped. He looked completely lost. Finally when i got my card to the room i drove down the snow covered lot, not even touched by a plow, to the door near our room. Sidewalk not even shoveled when we entered the hotel it reeked of marijuana just had a very sketchy feel and not safe at all. Room was facing the Thruway which wasnt a problem but the light shining in our room was because you couldnt close the shades. A/C, heater unit sounded like an airplane taking off, so it was fun trying to sleep through that. Room was clean, at least I hope it was. Will definitely not be staying at this hotel again. Ill look for another so i can get my rewards points.

2022-05-01Very helpful staff, the room was super cozy. Breakfast was magical, I made my own waffle on their waffle iron! The coffee was awful, but the positive experience and great room really made up for the terrible coffee.

2022-04-15The proximity to the highway makes it impossible to sleep. Based on the number of cars in the parking lot there must have been many other rooms we could have been put in. I called the front desk 4 times with no answer. Don’t book here or stop here. Find somewhere else to stay. The check-in was at least pleasant but not worth the aggravation of not getting any sleep.

2022-05-05I was here on Business. I am bougie so there I like options , the hotel was clean as well as neat. I like the pool , spa , gym etc. The staff was really nice , I will return back here every time I am near here for sure . Note , I usually stay at Hampton Inn , you will get way less there , and pay way more ! Over this last year I have become a Comfort Inn loyal guest !

2022-05-22I feel awful having to write this because the front desk manager truly attempted to accommodate but this was WAY above him. 1st room given to us — the door didn’t shut all the way. We asked for a different room. 2nd room given to us just wasn’t what we paid for so we again, asked for a room with the layout we booked. 3rd room? Awful. Mold on the headboard, dirty sheets, splatter on the walls, the bathroom was never cleaned, there was black mold in the vents and the stains on the sheets ran all the way to the mattress.

2022-06-04We stayed here recently. Room was clean. Front desk staff were professional. Breakfast was good. Some of the grills over the air conditioners outside were falling off. Outside needs a little upkeep.

2022-05-17Positive: The hotel was convenient to the highway and my business location. The pool/hot tub was a plus. Negative: It smelled like cigarettes, weed and old. They literally had rotten fruit displayed at breakfast. Definitely not business clientele and someone was banging on my door at 3am then said it was the wrong room. In desperate need of renovations!

2022-03-29Positive: Staff was friendly, hotel was outdated but it was fine for the one night we were there. Negative: We were disappointed to find that the hot tub was closed when we arrived. The only reason we picked this hotel was for the hot tub so that was a bummer. The rest of it was okay.

2022-03-21Positive: Nothing Negative: it was team of baseball players so they ate all the breakfast and they didn¿t come restock the hot breakfast myself and other guest did not get to enjoy breakfast they change my room to a one bed when I booked for two beds had 5 guest sleeping in 1 bed
