3 stars for the fact I was able to obtain my CDL upgrade from B to an A. I didnt give them the full 5 stars for the fact that I didnt like the way they assigned different instructors to me every time I showed up for my assigned day of training. Though I gave them 3 stars, I dont regret my decision going to them to learn how to drive a class A vehicle
I cant say enough goood things about this place. They will fully prepare you to pass your road test and give you the confidence you need to begin your career driving.
Just graduated on December 3rd for the 300 hour class A course. Course curriculum provided was extremely in depth and practical to many real life situations. If you’re looking for school that your monies worth I’d say they’re worth it. Almost all the instructors there really care about your progress and want to see you succeed. If this helps anyone in their decision I hoped my review helped. Thanks for getting on my way guys have a happy new year.
I just finished my CDL A license program through the CSEA program on Monday and I cant be more grateful for all the employees and instructors. Passed my A road test on the first try! From the office staff being VERY communicative to the instructors being VERY knowledgeable my 11 lessons at CDT was always a good learning experience. Each lesson was unique having a different instructor who taught a little different by pointing tips and tricks. It really made me a more well rounded driver. Other CDL schools had very bad reviews and CDT stuck out because of its reviews and the reviews held their weight. Would 100% recommend this school to another new driver.Thank you CDT staff for helping me get my class A license.Michael D

Not sure about the training experience. I havent started training yet but look forward to a long lasting and successful relationship with this driving school. So for now Ill say, to be continued...........On 8/16/21 I became a Commercial Driver Training student and I can already assume that attending this school is the best decision. If God allows, I can totally see myself 10 years from now still benefiting from my encounter with this great school. I love the environment, appreciate the instructions, respect the staff and value the opportunity.

CDT is an great school to attend if you are trying to obtain your Cdl license. All of the instructors I had were great teachers and were very knowledgeable of what they were teaching, I pass my road test on the first try. This is an all around awesome training program. The ladies in the office are knowledgeable and extremely helpful with working around my work schedule. All of the instructors take their time on each lesson to make sure you are 100% comfortable with each part of driving/inspecting. I would absolutely recommend this school!

My experience at the school was a great one! It started off with the women in the office being very professional and helping make the right decision on what course to even take. Then the classroom with my guy Big Jeff! getting us ready for and passing the permit test and teaching us everything about the trucking life through videos, power points, and textbook. Then to the actual driving where all the instructors have great knowledge to pass on from experience. Big shout outs to, Big Frank, Big Pat, Big Bill, Big Skinny Mike and Big Darren! All of them worked with me and helped me pass my Class A road test! That Landing Gear trick worked great for my maneuvers!(Thanks Frank) I definitely recommend this school to anyone trying to get great training to drive a truck! Thank you all! Coming to this school I believe was the best decision I could have ever made. First day of class I knew I made the right decision. I signed up for the 300+ hour course. It consisted of 4 weeks in class and then 4 weeks outside with the driving instructors. Jeff is the in class instructor. His class structor is formulated well and comprehensive. Very thankful for his knowledge and expertise. Big shout out to Big Bill, Pat, Seargent Mike, Charlie, Fernando, Alex, Zack, Charlie, Darren, Frankie, and anyone else who has worked with me to help me achieve my CDL. I passed my road test on my first try so that should tell you something about this school. They do a great job instructing you on how to drive tractor trailers. Last but not least, shout out to Linda and her crew in the office. You ladies are awesome and is always on top of everything and make things happen!

My first shout out goes to Linda in the office for helping me choose the right path to take when registering for the class having no previous experience in driving a truck. Second shout out goes to Mr. Jeff Brody! No one in the world has more knowledge about trucking and trucking businesses and operations. Always professional patient and knows the strengths and weaknesses of his students. Next is Frankie, thank you Frank! a man of God, he will get you over your obstacles! He helped me so much with learning how and when to change gears and backing in a tractor trailer using the landing gear technique! Little Mike, my man, calm and collective and professional ! Helped me get my CDL again. First time was a Class 1. So many things changed, they had me up and running in 2 or 3 lessons. I took 2 more to be sure. Thank you CDT. Everyone was great.

I only attended this school for a few weeks, but in the short time, i honestly can say i learn a few years worth of knowledge. All of the staff are very caring, helpful, informative, and they will really encourage and guide you threw your journey. Linda and Xena are amazing office staff, they will work hard to set you up with all of your appointments. The instructors Alex, Charlie, Big Bill, and Frank, are remarkable. Because of their hard work, efforts, and encouragements i can now say i am CDL card holder. Thank you CDT for your amazing work.

Excellent experience, the trainers are very thorough and professional, special thanks to Pat Who did most of my training, I also had Mike, both of them seem to be on the same page and filled me with confidence, they explain things in a manner that was easy to understand. They had more confidence in me then I had in myself, when I went and took my road test The gentleman that tested me was very impressed with my driving and my acknowledgment of the truck,and my three maneuver skills which I aced,not one pull up,not once did I have to get out, in my head all I heard was Pat Telling me relax you got this. When the Covid pandemic hit in March of 2020 my employment ceased. Days turned to weeks, and then months. During that time, I reevaluated my 23 years of previous experience and decided that a career change was needed. I had often seen the CDT trucks on the road and had heard good reviews of their school.I have absolutely no complaints. The classroom instruction was thorough and gave you the needed knowledge to pass the DMV multiple choice tests for the permit as well as multiple endorsements. All of the instructors in the yard are top notch and taught me how to drive a manual transmission truck. They reviewed all of the necessary information for inspections and safety checks. Over the course of a few weeks I was evaluated and the instructors were able to focus on what I may need help with and focused on those areas.The women that work in the office were always helpful and were always able to answer my many questions.All in all, everyone at CDT made my experience wonderful and I will definitely refer them to anyone looking to get their CDL and needs training.
I originally went with a different school because they did have slightly less rates for classes, as anyone knows looking for a commercial driving school it’s going to add up if you need multiple classes. So I went with the cheaper option, it was definitely a mistake. I went back to CDT, There was a clear difference in teaching habits and skills of the instructors even their administrative reps worked with me to arrange class schedules and payment plans. The school is definitely worth it and I got my A license on the first try.
All the instructors are incredible with their knowledge and style of instructing. Office staff is awesome and very responsive to students needs. I highly recommend this very professional staff and school. I plan on returning for my Class A license.
CDT is an awesome school for all your commercial training. Excellent, accredited school to learn how to become a class A professional truck driver. Classroom instructors were very knowledgeable of the rules and regulations of the transportation industry and kept the class interesting. The field instructors were all previously in the trucking industry and gave a lot of real world knowledge and direction to me. I am glad to have picked this school and not just any cdl prep school. I have and will continue to recommend others to it who are interested in the trucking industry.
I took their intermediate class A course. All of the instructors were knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They set you up for success from day one. From the front office to out on the road, the experience at commercial driver training was great. Passed my CDL class A road test with their help.
I had a great time learning and earning a CDL here at CDT. From the office with Linda and Jenn, to the classroom having Jeff as an instructor, and having Charlie and Mike give me the necessary hands on training needed to pass my road test. Great atmosphere and the entire staff is awesome. If youre interested in getting a CDL I highly recommend you take the time to check out CDT.

Charlie is the Gratest Truck trainer. I passed exam at once. He is a great guy... I want to give to him Turkish Delight from Turkey with my grateful feelings. He is very important guy for USA economics too. Because he educated so many Truck Driver. I am so grateful for that experience. I found Job immediately

CDT IS THE WORST DRIVING SCHOOL EVER..I found CDT through google, seen the reviews and thought to myself “why not”. The reviews was good and it was close to me because I live on Long Island.I was sooooo wrong. This Driving School was the worst experience. My first problem was that they kept on giving me a new instructor every time I was scheduled for class. Each instructor does things differently. Completely not organized.Then to Schedule a road test the wait is about 3 to 4 months. Another issue, I think they do that on purpose So that you can continue to take your money. Their pricing is not bad. But they only teach you very small steps so that you have to take more lessons than you signed up for.. this company knows how to scam ppl. Then by the time they finally get you a date, you still need to take more lesson because they haven’t reached you the knowledge that is needed to pass the road test. So basically if you fail, you have to take more classes with them, pay to use their truck again and wait a long period of time to get back another road test date.. $$$$$$I even spoke to the ladies at the front desk about the way things were going with the different instructors and their reply to me was that “they can’t give the same instructors because they work different days and times, and the place them in different areas all the time. That’s a major issue. Students need to have one instructor and that one instructor teach that student the proper way to handle the road.My experience was very baaaaaaad. I don’t want anyone else to go through what I been through so please don’t sign on to this school. You will be highly disappointed .In conclusion, I stop going to this school and started attending a school in New Rochelle By the name of Heritage Auto School. They was a great help and helped me to score my CDL Class A license in less than two months.I hope this review helps to not let others make the same mistakes I made attending CDT!!!!!!!!!!

I usually dont write reviews but in this case its deserved. I originally got my B class with this school years ago. Never wanted my A license but circumstances changed, so i went back to CDT and got my A. (3/15/17) Both times i passed my first time. These guys have GREAT instructors and very good equipment. All the guys ive encounterd at CDT are super nice/helpful. Thank you Commercial Driver training! And anyone who needs a trucking school, this is the place to go!!!!!!!!!
If you train here, you MUST ask for Mike to be your instructor. All the guys at CDT are great but Mike is exceptional. Thank you so much for getting me in shape to pass my road test on the first shot, you guys are the best

I’m bad with remembering names so I won’t mention anybody in specific. Everyone in the office and all the instructors are amazing. I went to CDT to get my class A drivers license. I had never driven a tractor trailer before but thanks to the Great instructorsI am now a tracker trailer driver. 💪🏼
The trainers are top notch !!! The knowledge they posses is priceless, I graduated with a level of confidence I didnt have prior to attending the course , I passed my road test on my first try ,and I nailed my offset , straight back ,and parallel parking with no pull ups I used 2 G.O.A.L.s thats it!!!! Very bad experience. Office consistantly calls to collect payment and set up appointments not authorized and charge a cancellation fee of one hundred dollars if u cant make it.They say and over promise and deliver less than professional service. This place need to to be investigated for over zealous collectionsfiling a complaint with attorney generals office and better business bureau. Stay away go to a school where your business is appreciated with professional serice.

I went there in the late 80s it was a great school then staff was knowledgeable helpful and loved that you had the choice to do yard work than go on the streets if you thought you needed to practice that.Wish I could have stayed in the industry but after nearly 25 years my body fell apart and my health got to me .Thank you I still think of my old class room teacher talking about going to see Tilly the waitress at the truck stop lol ! Greatest bunch of driver trainers I worked with made me ready for almost anything but chaining up :-(

Sometimes first impressions are EVERYTHING!!!!!Today I called to ask about a training program for someone like me;Drove a semi unlicensed 40 years ago, just a few times while working for a family construction company.Two days ago I went and passed DMV CDL Exam;Core, Air Brakes, Combination, Doubles/Triples.Linda at Commercial answered the phone when I called.....She explained how Commercial can tailor make a training program (pay as you go) that meets my needs and will help me get my CDL..WHAT A GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION.I EXPECT GREAT THINGS!!!!

Counting the three-month graduation from the exam, if you can communicate in English normally and simply, this is the best and particularly professional school (after all, you will use English on the road in the future). The office/teacher/coach are very friendly and try their best to help you. Most of the staff are warm and humorous, encouraging and giving you confidence. 2022-08-14It is in my humble opinion that the experience at CDT is in many ways beyond me to put in words. I had the best experience in my training, learning and experience going to this trucking school. The entire staff from the ladies in the office are exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable and goes beyond their measures to make you feel comfortable and to have a great learning experience. That said it’s up to you the student to be a good student and exercise the same respect and to be professional and courteous. Learning to be a professional driver encompasses many facets and as long as you are attentive and put your energy to it you can do it and this is the school I’d recommend anyone to go to. Every instructor is different and you can learn from each one of them “ we all learn differently as well as they all teach differently but it is up to you the student to pay attention take it all in and learn ways to uniquely make it your own. My experience was amazing and all the staff at CDT I want to express my gratitude for teaching me and showing me the ways to drive and keep safe on the road as a professional driver. That said this school is the school of choice as they will teach you that process and the way of the professional driverMortimer

2022-03-20I passed my test on the first try. When I arrived at the school, I felt complicated, but the instructors give you the skill of their experience and do everything simple for you. The best school in the region, excellent customer service from the office staff Maria, Christine, the instructors Fernando, Mike, Alex and Lucas even the mechanics that were helping me with my car battery... 2022-08-17We run an Apprentice to Technician program and in order to graduate, the candidate must obtain their CDL License. Our partnership and relationship with the CDT School is amazing! They are accommodating to our schedule, every of our guys has successfully earned their CDL and are now in the field driving our trucks. Jenna in the office especially is awesome!!! She is super helpful in coordinating the schedules. You cannot go wrong choosing this school!

2022-07-13If you want to start a career in the trucking industry this is the school to start your training and get your cdl license. Because this school is the Harvard of trucking schools on the island with great staffs who actually want to see you succeed. I definitely highly recommend looking into their programs and joining them!

2022-07-12My experience was a pleasant one, I went to 2 trucking schools before this and they were unprofessional so i left. I did my research and came here and I don’t regret it. The staff is very professional from the office to the classroom to the yard. Zack is a great person inside and out he sacrificed his time to make sure i passed my road test and that meant alot to me. Jimmy, Fernando, Pat, Lucas, Greg, Bill, Both Mikes, Rich i can write a book on each of these guys but I’ll keep it short by saying they are all phenomenal teachers. I had an issue with Joe who cut my lesson short and didn’t teach me how to do the maneuvers but Zack made it up to me by teaching me on his time. I can’t thank the CDT family enough. Ill never forget this experience Thank You. Money well spent

2022-06-07I cannot express how pleased I was during the entire training process with CDT, the trainers and the staff are incredible, I now have my A license and I could not have done it without CDT and their support throughout the process. This school is by far the best on Long Island, and I am sure in all of New York. If you are looking for a great training school for Truck or Bus, look know further this is the place….

2022-03-29The instructor who taught us In the classroom was phenomenal Zach knowledge about Trucking was on point along with the patience he has for everyone in the class. He explained all that the students asked him.The school will teach you how to drive manual which if you dont know its a stick shift. But I prefer learning in an automatic which they do have if you prefer. It gives me the option to keep both hands on the wheel and focus more on driving watching my trailer and looking at my mirrors.I dont like multitasking while driving .Check it out for yourself and see how many major trucking companies are still using manual transmission. Other than that CDT is a very good school to attend. I really appreciate each and every instructor or trainer that trained me in the truck😃. I can learn a little something from each one of them to help me perfect my skills. The ladies in the office thank you for all your hard work .cant leave you out. You ladies play a BIGG PART in the process. Keep up the good work!

2022-02-163 stars for the fact I was able to obtain my CDL upgrade from B to an A. I didnt give them the full 5 stars for the fact that I didnt like the way they assigned different instructors to me every time I showed up for my assigned day of training. I did the intermediate training program, so I paid for about 9 classes, and 7 of the 9 were all different instructors with their own way of training their students. Though I gave them 3 stars, I dont regret my decision going to them to learn how to drive a class A vehicle
