I honestly do not understand why she has great reviews. My husband and I went in for an annual check-up. For three weeks, we did not find the results of our bloodworks. When I called the office, the receptionist informed me that the results were already out and emailed us the portal link. We were not provided the log in information, so we had to call the office again. When we tried to access the portal the second time, we were informed that our accounts did not exist. Now, I will have to either wait for the tech service to contact me or go into the office to pick up paper copies of the test results. I dont understand how we were NOT informed of availability of the test results and why it has become so difficult for us to review the results. If we had not reached out, would the office hold on the test results without informing us for an indefinite period of time? The doctor may be competent and attentive, but the administrative leg of this office is completely unprofessional.
The many negative reviews here are justified. To be clear, I did not get many opportunities to interact with the actual medical staff. But this was explicitly because of the frustrating process I experienced with the front desk reception staff. To start, their overall demeanor is rude. There was more than one instance where I observed a patient being talked down to - nearly to the point of embarrassment. The level of patient care and customer service at the front desk is simply not up to par for what a medical office should have.During my most recent visit, I was asked to wait for a call upon my arriving for my appointment. It didn’t take too long (about 15-20 minutes) for them to give me a call, but once they did, one of the first things I was told was that I somehow didn’t actually have an appointment with them. This was after being asked to wait. They then informed me that I was not in their system at all, and that they would need my information again. I was coming in for a check up and for the result of my blood test from my previous appointment. Somehow they apparently had no record whatsoever of this having happened, and they also claimed to not have any blood results. This was obviously after they had literally taken my blood out of my body. I was appalled. After leaving the office and getting ready to drive off, I got a call back that they had magically found my blood test. They also told me that I had misremembered my appointment date, and that it had in fact been scheduled for the week afterward. I was dubious about that point already, per the multiple reviews made by other patients citing the front desk’s falsifications of previously scheduled appointments. I told them I’d like to cancel my appointment as I was fed up at this point, and I left.I can only speculate as to why, but the front desk worker called me back a total of 5 times, each time providing a new reason or excuse as to why things had gone down that way. They didn’t have me in their system. They had overlooked my documents because they misread my name (my full name literally has a single digit number of letters). They were sorry and were willing to fit me in anywhere any time I preferred. For the record, I had called about two hours prior asking to re-schedule and they told me “everything was booked” for the following month or so. I declined their offer without hesitation.I will be looking for a new doctor. It’s unfortunate that I didn’t even get a chance to see Jia Park herself, but the fact that it was this difficult and frustrating simply made it not worthwhile. The extent to which this front desk makes excuses, conveniently lies, and arbitrarily shows an attitude toward patients is appalling and inexcusable
Dr. Park has been my PCP since moving into the neighborhood, around 6 years ago. She’s a great doctor that I trust going to whenever I have concerns. She takes time to answer questions, is knowledgeable, and professional. Everyone in her office is also absolutely amazing, kind, and helpful. The last time I went due to severe back pain, all the staff were super empathetic and tried to alleviate the pain by helping me get into and out of the chair or walk me to and from the waiting area to be seen. Thank you to the wonderful nurse (sorry I forgot her name) and Elaine!
Dr. Park is a wonderful doctor and I am very happy to have her as my PCP. I’ve sent my whole family to her and they are also very happy with the treatment she provides. She is an excellent listener and really gives you a great explanation that is specific to your needs, rather than a textbook answer for everyone. I’m also very satisfied with the very short (or non-existent) wait time I experience in her office.
There has been a numerous number of complains and problem regarding the attitude and unprofessionalism of old receptionist who works there. Shes very rude like you see on other reviews out there and she never get fired or alter her behavior. I got humiliated be her attitude she doesnt care about the patient. All she cares of about is how much money they get out of from patients. As a computer soft engineer Im very skeptical about the numerous positive reviews out here. Its either a bot or someone paid to write all those fake reviews. She had few reviews back in 2019 and all of sudden she got like 300 of 1 star contribution of 5 star reviews. I had no problem with the doctor but the unprofessionalism of how receptionist handles the situation sickens me.
Only giving 1 start due to the lack is exceptional customer service the front Desk does not provide. The front desk individual is rude, shows no passion for her work to others and does not know how to work with you. For this reason I will be switching over to a new PCP.
COVID-19 has made so many lives difficult, especially those of doctors and health professionals. I have so much respect for your work and your passion to help the community.Over a month ago, I made an appointment to come in for a yearly check-up; since the pandemic, I was unable to come in last year (2020) and was just able to grab an appointment after three weeks. After confirming my appointment and asking if they took Medicaid, the receptionist confirmed and affirmed that they would be able to see me. I didn’t think I would have any problems, more so because Dr. Jia Park’s brother was my pediatrician. However, today when I went, the receptionist told me that they wouldn’t accept Medicaid because, and quite literally I quote, “the doctors make $1 and $3 each time they see a patient with Medicaid, so [I] should get a more expensive health insurance plan.” Additionally, the receptionist told me to upgrade my plan to Medicaid premium if I wanted to see the doctor. This is immoral and unethical; asking a patient to BUY new health insurance especially AFTER confirming that they can see a patient is wrong. Please don’t do this to other people coming in, especially IN FRONT OF OTHER PATIENTS. I felt humiliated, embarrassed, and unbelievably enraged that your receptionist would act like this. Please do better for your current and future patients.
Dr Parks office/staff is very friendly and speak and understand English fluently( i only say for anyone who is hesitant because of the signs outside in another language, I hope Im not sounding inappropriate or discriminate) and whenever Ive gone there Im pretty much in and out I never had to wait longer than 10 minutes after my appointment time which to me is a blessing when comparing to every other doctor appointment i have (not to put any others down, things do happen, people show up late or suddenly becomes urgent to do extra testing maybe? Theres reasons for appointments not being on time but over here so far its been amazing) She is very kind understanding and caring, she does tests for me that I want/need but would forget to ask for which is very important to me. I feel safe and comfortable to speak truthfully to Dr park about choices Ive made that affect my health( substance abuse etc ) she does not judge, only suggests a better way or refers to someone who can help. 👍
For most, I have nothing against the MD but one thing, don’t turn a patient down, ever, no matter what. Just besides that experience, she’s okay. BUT, the front desk, OH MY GOD. This lady at the front named Angela, she needs to go. You can never get a answer out of her. She always says, I’ll have the manager call you back or can I call you back later, and never does. She mistaken my appointment twice and just the attitude, horrible. Bc of her confused self, I’m probably going to get another pcp. It’s a waste of time at the end being on the phone for hrs when it’s a simple request.
Dr. Jia Park Is The Most Knowledgeable, Professional And Efficient Doctors In Her Profession That Myself And My Wife Of 30 Years Have Ever Met.My Wife And I Are In In Our Late Fifties And Have Moved Several Times. We Both Agree That Dr. Park Is Phenomenal In Her Abilities To Diagnose Any Ailment Weve Had, And To Pinpoint With Absolute Accuracy What Coarse Of Action Would Be Needed For The Most Effective Recovery.Dr.Jia Parks Staff Is Also The Most Professional, Efficient, Knowledgeable & Courteous Staff That Weve Both Ever Had The Pleasure Of Working With. The Office Is Always Very Neat, Clean And The Wait Time Has Always Been Reasonable.Absolutely 5 Stars For This Office !⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Dr. Park is a knowledgable, caring doctor. She takes interest in your care, asking the right questions and providing insightful responses to your concerns. Her staff has an optimistic, helpful disposition. I highly recommend Dr. Park and feel lucky to have her as my PCP!
I have visit this office for about 6 years and hands down they have been really great with my whole family. The doctor is always patient with me and my questions and concerns. I also take my kids here and she is very social with them in regards to their health. If I feel under the weather they do everything possible to fit me or my love ones in even if its super busy, they still take time to address my concerns. Elaine is the best office manager and very kind and calm. I definitely recommend Dr.Park. Im very precise about my well being and do not take it lightly, it took me a while to finally find an office I feel comfortable in. They are very clean.
As a patient it feels like they are always in a rush and it is too fast paced. In addition, I noticed that they try to pack many people at once. It is always busy and as a patient Im not sure if I am confident with how the office runs. The environment is a little anxiety riding. It can be overwhelming and would appreciate if the office has a more relaxed environment.
The worst place you can go to. Do not trust with their receptionist or the manager there. They make a mistake and they lie and try to cancel your appointments last minute. They try to make it into your fault for making false appointments. The receptionist and the manager is very rude, they think they own that office. No flexibility, no understanding, no respect to patients. All they care about is trying to leave when they are done for the day. They are basically ruining doctor’s reputation. I wish I can give zero stars. Please avoid there unless you want to be treated poorly.
Dr. Park has been my general practitioner for almost a decade! She’s kind, professional and knowledgeable. Her office staff is also very friendly and the office is always clean and well-kept. She is very busy so getting an appointment could be hard but 2 weeks ahead isn’t that bad and she’s worth the wait!
I just returned from an office visit with Dr. Park, and I would leave ZERO stars if I could. The visit with Dr. Park herself was fine, she was very patient with our questions and seemed attentive to my mothers health, and the nurse that assisted her was incredibly sweet. However, the receptionist/office manager is the rudest, most unprofessional woman I have ever dealt with. After finishing with my mothers checkup, we went to the front desk to see if anything else was needed from us.There, the receptionist/office manager rudely and condescendingly told us we owed money from a visit TWO YEARS ago. My mother said that a rep from our insurance company AND someone at Dr. Parks office confirmed two years ago that we didnt owe anything. I informed the office manager this, and she responded by rolling her eyes and loudly talking down to us. She even laughed at my mothers response, and said mockingly that the person you spoke to doesnt exist, I am the office manager. (we didnt give a name so not sure how she could make that claim?)I asked her to call the insurance company to resolve this since wed already spoken to them, so she does. We end up waiting for another 15 minutes while shes on this call, and I can only hear her side of the conversation: But are you sure? She doesnt owe anything? No, can you please check again? Please check again. This was incredibly frustrating. She already got an answer, and she was wasting our time being petty about this. Before she got off the call, I said if they do say we owe money, could you please have them say it on speakerphone so we can hear it? she responds by rolling her eyes and turning her back to me! Two minutes later, she hangs up the phone and says to us, They made a mistake. they told you and our office the wrong thing, which is why we told you two years ago you didnt owe anything. Now we know they made a mistake, so you owe us money. I couldnt believe it. I asked her why didnt you put the agent on speakerphone? she just shook her head and kept repeating they made a mistake, you owe us money. Fed up, I said to her Okay, so to clarify, the insurance company messed up, and told BOTH OF US the wrong thing 2 years ago. You were talking down to us as if we were liars, but now youre acknowledging that the insurance company messed up here, right? And that there was someone from your office that signed off on that, right? Because you accused us of making that person up. She refused to make eye contact with me at this point, and just kept rolling her eyes. I told her Id like to hear it from the insurance agent myself before paying because frankly, based on what I heard, I didnt trust her. She tells me to call them myself, and all of a sudden wasnt insistent on us paying immediately anymore.I suspect that they didnt give her the answer she wanted from them, and she didnt want to admit to that. I will follow up with them myself but, whatever the case may be, that type of unprofessional, rude, mocking behavior deserves no place in an office, let alone a MEDICAL office. I was horrified by her treatment and I no longer feel comfortable having my mother go there unaccompanied. My mother is ESL, and I could see this office manager bullying her like she tried to do when I was there.I plan on calling the office again to talk to Dr. Park about how her office manager treated us, because I think she should be aware. Reading other reviews, it seems like this behavior is a pattern, which is a pity because everyone else in the office, including Dr. Park, was so warm and professional. I will update my review following that conversation.
Dr. Park is kind and attentive. She has many patients so she seems rushed but if you have a question, she does take the time to go over things and explain things. There used to be less wait time than it can be now a days, but try to go early in the day and it is better. A sick appointment might mean a wait. Especially if they are fitting you into a packed schedule. Her staff is helpful.
Dr. Jia Park is an amazing and caring doctor. Ive found her to be very courteous and adamant about follow through with testing and corrective medical advice. I truly adore her advices, she has always given me sound medical advice. I relocated out of state over a year ago, but continued to return to NY just for her medical guidance. The office is very clean and the staff always kind and friendly.
Absolutely the worst !! I thought i had a cold or flu so i took the covid test. Results came back negative but she said she can not trust the test. So she just gave me antibiotics. After a week, i felt worse but she still would not see me and just prescribed me an inhaler. She did nothin and said i would be fine. Felt worse so I went to urgent care and i have PNEUMONIA. No moral code, i would not see her if she was the last doctor on earth.
I’m never disappointed each time I come to this office. Everyone is extremely pleasant and professional. The doctors have wonderful bedside manner and they take their time with you. For me this is important, I don’t like to feel rushed and I like to interact with my doctor. I’ve been a patient here for over 5 years and I have referred my coworkers to this location. Everyone is satisfied, keep up the great work.
The old woman receptionist has a extreamly bad attitude also she is soooo rude!!.She is not good at respond to patients on the phone.Just she should listen to the patients question but she was argueing with patients. It was very uncomfortable place to wait to meet the Dr.She has to realize who is she.I never want to go that place because of her.
Excellent family doctor, been going to her for 5 years as I was looking for a good female MD I can trust. I had a little medical scare recently and she provided a thorough evaluation. Thank goodness everything was OK but during this difficult time her warmth and kindness put me at ease. I love her and now my entire family is going to her as well. Thank you Dr. Jia!!!
My mother attends this doctor, and after hearing my mother has been coming here for quite some time, I figured it’d be a good fit for me too. So, I visited once when I had a sinus infection and needed antibiotics. Dr. Jia Park was professional and addressed my concerns that my local Urgent Care out in LI failed to address or diagnose. Dr. Park prescribed me antibiotics and it was so helpful. She was really sweet and caring, and I felt comfortable with the care she was providing. She is very easy to talk to and speaks both English and Korean (which is why I’m assuming there is a huge korean population who comes to see her).My reason for the poor rating is based on how rude the receptionist and the front desk staff are. I actually rarely write bad reviews on Google or Yelp, but I was shocked at how brusque and rude the front desk was and want to bring awareness to the unprofessional service I experienced. Dr. Park, as a patient of your practice, I am coming in because I am clearly sick and in need of care or for a check up. Whatever the case is - as a practice, you should properly train your receptionist and front desk staff to treat your patients with respect and care, regardless of whether or not you had a bad/busy/backed up day at your practice or not. That should NOT be reflected or taken out towards patients. When I walked in and was immediately greeted with an attitude by the receptionist, it left a really bad taste in my mouth. I am usually someone who gives every person the benefit of the doubt so I just brushed it off. But as I was waiting in the waiting room to be seen by Dr. Park , I witnessed the receptionist giving other patients (not only young, but the elderly too, which really bothered me) very cold, abrupt, and rude service. I was genuinely shocked that kind of service is shown under Dr. Park’s supervision. I, myself, am 2nd generation Korean and I understand there can be cultural differences ... but the customer service I received and witnessed - it cannot be excused by cultural differences between 1st and 2nd generation. She was just being so flat out rude. While I liked the service and care Dr. Park provided, the lack of professionalism her front desk shows makes me not want to come back.
My family and I have been coming to Dr Park for over 7 years. She is very experienced and knowledgeable. The only drawback is her office is closed on wednesdays. She gets very busy and the office is a bit small. But overall the wait isnt too terrible. She is alot better than NorthWell Urgent care on Bell Blvd. The doctors there are inexperienced and misdiagnose you all the time.
Jia Park is a disgrace to comprehensive medical practice. I went in for a basic blood test, nothing that would require much time, knowledge, or effort. She managed to fail at performing the simplest task. To begin, she was unable to locate a single vein in my forearm so she consequently gave up and decided to go to my wrist (already unimpressive). She inserts the needle, but was unable to draw blood so she repeatedly stuck the needle in random places in my wrist. It was excruciatingly painful I made her very aware of that but she did not address it. She then went to the opposite arm and wrist but was still unable to draw blood (or locate blood for that matter). She gave up. She did not perform a proper blood test and blamed me, the patient, for not having a sufficient vein. My experience at Jia Park’s office was humiliating and overall has degraded my view of the practice of medicine. Her lacking abilities are insulting to not only medicinal practice but her patients as well. Strongly urge that any patient considering a visit to her office should find a different medical professional.
Dr. Jia Park is somewhat stoic, but she has a genuinely caring heart, which is not all that easy to find in not just doctors, but also in people in general. She is extremely knowledgable and thorough. The wait time is reasonable (on the longer side at times because shes good), and the office is small, but cozy.
Jia Park is very dismissive of health concerns brought up by the patient. Communication is completely lacking. Was turned away for an appointment because no one said I needed to be fasted for blood work, which is fine. Mistakes happen. But when we called the office to make sure it wouldnt happen again, was told that we never even had an appointment. I was talked over by the receptionist when trying to tell her that I had a text message confirming the date and time of the appointment saved on my phone. Had to hang up because I was getting no where. Instead put in a formal complaint with Medicare. Wanted to inform the public that there are better pcp options for you out there.
Dr. Jia Park has no bedside manners. She makes patients feel uncomfortable and has a very because I said so attitude, when patients have inquiries about their own health. We called the doctor to ask about changing my mothers medication (as it was making her feel extremely sick) and the doctor was incredibly rude; her tone was uncalled for. Its unfortunate that a doctor would speak to a patient that way when patients essentially go to the doctor to seek some guidance and comfort regarding their health. We will not be returning to her practice.
Dr. Park in an unprofessional doctor and the staff is very mean and rude. She refused to provided good service and care to my wife for a follow up in a simple and easy diagnostic. Totally careless of patience concerns and needs. If you are not Korean you should find another doctor.
She is a bad doctor. She does not listen to her patients. She will misdiagnosis you. It was not a cold sore, it was impetigo. If Dr Park listened to me when I gave my history and said it was a pimple then a cut, never a blister, she would have saved me a trip to the dermatologist. A simple swab of the area is all I needed. Luckily, I did get a referral and was given the correct prescription, but it was two weeks after I saw her. It was great when I called my for my other test results and I mentioned this mistake only to have her yell at me! She was wrong and cannot accept it, maybe its a culture thing, doctors are used to being gods.
Do not deceived by these reviews, she only had less than 10 review about a year ago despite the fact that she had office for a long time. She just had corner room at her brothers pediatric office and thats how she had decent number of patient, it was just convenient to pay a visit if you have children. Since she broke off from the location her office never was booked. I never ever received any lab result unless I call them after 3 weeks and often it wasnt even ready. Reception is terrible when you have some question on something she wasnt ready for. Almost everytime clerk? draws my blood either she pops my vein or had to reinsert several times. Often Jia Park didnt know what was she talking about, I paid a visit and she gets to bill the inusurance then I should get out. I have very good suspicion these numbers of reviews are not organic. So many of reviewers are just made from 6 month ago. And all the earlier revies are 1 star. She is same doctor and the clerks are the same clerks from several years ago.Do not bet on your health, early diagnosis is critical when you have something and I wouldnt trust this place.
Not responsible for their patients. The office staffs are not attentive and hang ups during the call and refuses to accept their patients even during emergency. If you are looking for a doctors office where they truly care about their patients and willing to help, look for other.
Called at 4pm to ask for a walk-in and receptionist said they can’t take anymore walk-ins (office closes at 7pm). Asked if I can make an appointment for tomorrow and they said it’s full booked. They suggested that I go to urgent care. Why would I go to urgent care if my pcp is open? What’s the point of having a pcp if I can’t see them when I’m sick?
The place looks clean, the reception area however looks like the inside of a nyc cab with the windows in between, gives you the feeling they gotten mugged . Why else have windows inbetween the reception and patients if they attenting to sign in patients for the MD to see? The staff are rude, bad business, look somewhere else. Theres no professionalism.
Today was my worst experience in that office I felt so humiliated !!!!!!!! I have problems with my prescriptions and refills. The way this lady made me feel at the request of my medication was horrible. I have a chronic condition, but apparently she does not have a bit of concern about my condition even though I was her patient.
Terrible experience...had a blood clot due to ankle injury and being on the plane..she refused to treat me and sent me to a cardiologist instead! I don’t have any heart problems. This was after collecting my copay as well so gave them 30 dollars to send me elsewhere. I am looking for another primary doctor in the bayside area. I suggest you do the same
If you are pacient from this office they will no care of you my mom was in pain she went to emergency room then she call the office two days later , because continues in pain and the receptionist is rude unprofessional , they don’t give any appointment even if you are your patient they said we can no accept walking or no appointment until two months and Doctor Jia Park is maybe no knowing about her unprofessional people
Thank you for your very kind teacher. And yesterday I had to get a second shot of shingles vaccination, but I couldnt visit because I had to go to Korea tomorrow. Everyone said that it hurts if I got the second injection, so if I got a fever I couldnt get on the plane. Ill come back and try again.
The doctor is very meticulous and kind. The South American nurse, who measures the weight and blood pressure before the examination,The receptionist is really unkind.Even when people come in, they do not touch their eyes. One grandmother said she was so sick that she hadnt made an appointment. He said bluntly, You have to wait until the appointments are complete. The grandmother leans over the small window of the reception and says, without looking at the person sitting at the reception.I dont know why I hire such a person. There are a lot of nice and kind people ...The doctors are friendly but I dont know why the receptionists are so arrogant.

2022-03-31I have been going to Jia Park for over 15 years. She is incredibly patient, listens to my concerns and never tried to give me unnecessary medication. She explains and helps you understand your diagnosis and genuinely cares for her patients. Her staff is lovely and always friendly and even if they are busy they always prioritize patients depending on the severity of the situation. I was just discharged from the hospital and when I told the staff that they fit me right in for a same day appointment even thou they were fully booked for the week. I’ve sent all my family to her and wouldn’t trust anyone else with our health.

2022-05-14I just started going to Dr. Park and my experience was positive. All the staff from the receptionists to the medical assistants were very warm and welcoming. When I got to sit down with Dr. Park, she was very thorough with me. She took her time and answered all my questions. I will definitely be back

2022-01-20Dr Park is a very helpful physician that has taken care of me and my inlaws for the past few years. Shes always been very professional and helpful with anything weve brought to her attention. 2022-01-12Dr. Parks office has very friendly and nice staff. Although the entire office including Dr. Park herself like to rush a bit, its understandable considering how many patients she sees. For example, Dr. Park types on her computer for the most part to keep record and her eyes will only meet yours when you say something that concerns her LOL But I love that bc I hate small talks anyways. The only thing I dont like is how close they make appointments sometimes I have to wait a year in the lobby before I see the doctor

2022-04-22First visit. a doctor was speedy and accurate. even though waited more than 20 minutes after sign up but it was a pleasant experience in this hospital. The most impressive is their attitude to treat the patient. Nurses and receptionists are so friendly and comfortable.

2022-04-28Highly recommended.Quickly seen, + appointment was honored. Staff remained courteous, professional, and most importantly efficient even with patients and a Pfizer rep walking through the door (haha).I dread annual physicals and checkups, but this practice makes the ordeal much less painful.

2022-07-03I was sick and tried to schedule an appointment. The staff member on the phone was unhelpful, and the earliest appointment was 2 weeks. She didnt offer me any alternative options (for example, Urgent Care). When I went to a UC the next day, I found out I have Covid. It bothered me that I would have had to wait 2 weeks before I could even get that result if I took the appointment. Theres no point in making someone wait that long, they wont even be sick anymore by then

2022-05-17Dr.Parks recommendation to check my PSA level was able to detect early stage of prostate cancer. I was lucky to catch the cancer and had surgery before spread to other area.I appreciate her care and concern.

2022-02-15She’s a non compassionate physician who just bills for visits and doesn’t care about your health. Never calls you with test results and talks in circles without ever answering your questions. No bedside manner. She should not being taking care of human beings cause she lacks any compassion. Doesn’t even make eye contact when she speaks to you. Totally disgusted with my experience.

2022-06-08Dr. Park and staff were very friendly and professional. My wife and I needed a yellow fever vaccination for a vacation travel to Kenya. One of the few licensed specialist in NYC that offer this service.
