Computer Hut provided excellent service to repair my laptop. It had stopped charging, no matter which power cord I used. In addition, a corner of the keyboard had already stopped working and I had to use the touchscreen for those characters. Jeremy diagnosed the issues, ordered the parts, and fixed the laptop at a reasonable cost. I appreciate how efficiently the repair was done, and how Jeremy explained everything clearly.
Called with a question about a problem I was having with my computer, saying I may have to come in. The person on the phone couldve easily said they had to lure me in to look at it-- but instead, he told me how to fix it right on the phone. Will be going here for all of my computer needs in the future, great place. Cool stickers for sale too.
My laptop hit the dust in the morning , and I needed to get it either fixed or buy a new laptop. I remembered my mom raving about the computer hut in the past and I’m so great full that I ended up going to them. They were so helpful, friendly, and professional. I ended up getting a used computer and the staff was able to transfer everything form my laptop to the new one. What a great experience ! Thank you computer hut
Jeremy and the computer hut are a great resource for anyone having computer/tech issues. He is an honest, charismatic young man who is very tech savvy. I reccomend his establishment if you are in need of computer repairs.
Chris at Computer Hut is a serious lifesaver! My MacBook Air suddenly went dark and was non-responsive. All the usual attempts to Force Quit and restart weren’t working. I brought it in and Chris did a few magic re-booting type of things and it came back to life. All in 5 minutes. And he didn’t charge me. What? Who does this? I was ready to make a withdrawal from my savings for a new laptop and contact all of my clients because I couldn’t do any work till I got a new computer. Holy cow this place is a gem.
I have been to computer hut many times because I break my computer and phone often, and never have i ever had anything less than an amazing experience!!! the staff are phenomenal and so kind! They have quickly and efficiently fixed my array of problems with my electronics! They 100% go the extra mile to assure you are satisfied with whatever needs to be fixed. Once they even delivered my fixed phone to my workplace!!! Not to mention how affordable the prices are!! I wouldnt imagine going anywhere else for my technological needs and I recommend you do the same, you wont be disappointed!

For a small store they have quite a lot of good stuff, especially if youre a Mac user. Great prices on refurbished laptops. They even sell replacement chargers for half of what apple wants for them!
These guys are awesome. I bought a used Macbook Air here at an insanely great price-- although it was a 2012 model it works as new and there isnt a scratch on it. Jeremy and crew are the best and care about their customers, which is rare in a lot of places these days. Highly recommend!
This was my second time purchasing a laptop from them. The first time I bought a Mac book Pro for my husband and this time I bought myself a Mac book Pro. The staff are incredibly helpful and answered all my questions. They were very patient with me and even went through some of the basics before I left with my new purchase. It was affordable and there were a lot of options to choose from. I will definitely be back!
The shops owner is very knowledgeable and has been helpful with a myriad of repairs I brought his way. His prices are better than anywhere else Ive tried to I have my MacBook fixed before. And the tablet I bought there hasnt given me any problems yet.
I’ve been a happy customer of The Computer Hut, as over 5 years ago I bought a second hand iMac computer from them for music production, and I am happy. The iMac still works, albeit being obsolete on a software level for many applications. Point being, the staff and owners of this company sold me a good computer and on a few occasions when I had questions, they were super helpful and efficient
My Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015 MacBook Pro battery was failing. Fortunately the guys at Computer Hut were able to replace the battery in an afternoon! The cost with labor was about twice the price of a replacement battery, which, frankly, I thought was a good deal, considering how much I rely on my laptop.Ive used my MacBook for a week, and my trackpad works again! The battery now holds a charge!I was so glad to find Mac service in a nearby town during this pandemic. The shop is nice and everyone was being very careful.
My computer went down and I needed it to be fixed fast so I could use it for a work presentation, Chris was so helpful. It turned out I really messed my computer up, so he was very thorough laying out my options in detail, enabling me to make an informed decision. I told him about my time constraints and deadline, and he really came through, getting a lot of work done in a very short time, and for a reasonable price, in plenty of time for me to make my deadline!
I brought my computer in after it experienced heavy water damage, sadly there was nothing that could be done to fix it. I left with all of my data on an external hard drive. I totally left my computer charger behind which I had loaned from my boyfriend.A week later I decided that I was going to get a Mac as my next computer Ive only had PCs my entire life. I go back to Computer Hut and told them I wanted a refurbished Mac but knew NOTHING. They were extremely knowledgeable, stuck to my budget and matched me with the perfect computer. They also still had my boyfriends computer charger, so that was a major bonus.Ive always had a good experience with the folks at Computer Hut and I appreciate that they went above and beyond for me this last visit.
This place and the people here are all fantastic! I dont own many tech gadgets so I dont come here very often, but when I do I am always very pleased. Theyre all really knowledgeable and down to earth. Youll get straight-forward answers to your questions and you will always pay a very reasonable price. I work at a store right down the street and continuously recommend them to our customers because they are so wonderful. You can trust them to sell you quality products and services at a fair price! Im happy to have them in town.
I like this shop and the people who work there.This rating is specific for iPhone screen replacements - the screens they use are very fragile. I would avoid using this shop for any screen replacements.After replacing my original iPhone screen at this shop, I dropped my phone from about waist height onto a wood floor - the replacement screen shattered (glass physicaly separated from the phone). The extent of the damage was surprising, but my fault, so I had it replaced again. The 2nd replacement screen now has hairline cracks running through it - I do not know what caused it (a strong tap? perhaps something in my bag bumped into it) ... whatever did cause it, the event was not strong enough to cause any damage to the exterior screen protector.
I spilled a cup of coffee on my computer, they where able to revive it and sell me a backup computer at a reasonable price. Very knowledgeable and professional, would recommend them to everyone.
So grateful for the service at Computer Hut, New Paltz. Absolutely no wait (compared to 2-4 hours at Apple store). Great communication and awesome customer service. Went in thinking I needed a battery replaced and it ended up being a minor fix, they saved a lot of my money by their honesty and kindness. Such a relief to have my computer back. It even runs better since I got in back because he cleaned it up inside and out without even being asked. My new go-to for laptop and phone fixes!
I cant say enough good things about Computer Hut! I brought in a Macbook Pro that I had dumped hundreds of dollars into at another shop with no result. For a fraction of the cost that the other place charged me for a diagnostic, the Computer Hut Team actually fixed the machine. I will be bringing all of my computer related business to them from now on.
Incredible service and prices. Did not even charge when our new laptop (2007) died after 9 years and could not be fixed (hey, my desktop is 2000 so 2007 is new!). Fantastic replacement prices and youre talking to people who drive a $500 car. I will say they dont answer all emails which I find ironic for a computer shop, but otherwise extremely happy with deals and speed/quality of service. Husband loves his new Xmas gift of a new (his first) I-Pod (generation 6).
Yup! Theres a reason these guys are rated so HIGH. Its Simple!!!! Theyre Professional, Affordable, Great Customer Service & Great Energy! Thank you! Really cannot recommend this guy enough. I was absolutely sure I had lost my hard drive and computer for good and he worked some serious magic, and was super nice as well. They did a great job troubleshooting my laptop, keeping me updating on its repair status and actually fixing it. They were really preofessional and fixed my laptop in a timely fashion, i havent had any issues since bringing my laptop there 5 months ago. Theyre also very well priced and in an easy to find location.
I had a minor issue – the B key popped off my MacBook Pro keyboard. Thought I could fix it myself but the floaty mechanism underneath broke. Lucky for me Id heard great things about the folks at Computer Hut, and was not disappointed. Took a matter of minutes for it to be fixed, and I feet confident that I can bring my Mac back any time it acts up (which I hope wont be for a long time!).
My laptop suddenly wouldnt turn on. I panicked, because I work remotely and need my laptop, as I cant do much of my work on my phone. Called Dell and; of course, uncovered that my warranty had just expired. They gave me a quote of $60.00 to complete an analysis before giving me the cost of repair...which I would know in about a week. Then if I agreed to the cost it would take about 5-7 more days before receiving it back. Unacceptable.I took my laptop to Computer Hut that day - Friday afternoon and had it back Saturday (mid day), and with a cost of under $30.00. Excellent!!! Life is Good!

Definitely a local business to support, good prices, especially on macbooks. Bring in any device thats giving you trouble, sell your old ones or just get a new laptop, monitor, gaming device or more. Not the hugest selection because its not a giant store but if theres something specific youre looking for its worth letting the staff know.
I’m such a fan of this place; always friendly, cool and knowledgeable. I’ve never had anything but a positive experience, even when the diagnosis wasn’t what I might have wanted, they provide options. They’re never overbearing, or make a tech clutz, like me, feel talked down to...AND they’re affordable. I’d love a Computer Hut in Kingston, but until then, I’ll gladly make the treck to New Paltz.
Trustworthy! These guys and gals are the best. I bought a used iPhone from them about two months ago and it is great. They have also bailed me out when the crooks at the fake Verizon store up Main St tried to rip me off (that Verizon store is not a real verizon store).I have also had Computer Hut repair a different phone in the past and they have given me great advice on my desktop. Only good experiences with these people and Im so happy that we have a store like this in New Paltz. Please support them!

My iPhone 6 had been submerged in water 3 days earlier and was, needless to say, having some issues. Jeremy was able to fix the problems in less than 30 minutes and Im happy to report my phone is working perfectly. Affordable rates, friendly staff and fast turnaround ...this place is great!
We bought a refurbished Macbook for our daughter. It has been flawless. We are going back this week to have our Mac cleaned up. I felt that I could trust them. Any other shop I walked into over the years may me feel my wallet was in danger.
Had broken speakers in my Mac and was worried I’d have to send it to apple and wait for a repair. Brought it into the computer hut and had it repaired within a day. Reasonable cost, fast repair and computer is sounding great.
Needed a small torque wrench to open the back and check laptop battery. 3 screws. Needed more work to be done. 35$ Just to open the back.
The people at Computer Hut literally saved my life. Spilled an entire pint of beer on my month old MacBook (like turned it upside down and liquid poured out all over the floor). Brought it in the next morning and they charged me 50$ to dry it out or clean it or whatever it is that they do. Picked it up the next day and it worked perfectly but the keys were sticky. I then stupidly tried to take the keys off and clean underneath but ended up breaking off the space bar. A mere $300 (as compared to $700 at apple) later for a new keyboard and my laptop is good as new. I still cant believe it as I thought it was gone forever! Thanks so much guys will continue to reccomend them to everyone I know!
I wish I could give zero stars.I broke my phone at Murphy’s.. definitely my fault however, I came in the next day to get my phone fixed. The whole screen was shattered so I needed a replacement screen and I asked for a screen protector. When I first got my phone back it seemed okay however it started to become very (way too) sensitive to any touch or brush up against the screen. So I decided to bring it back they guy told me he thought the phone was fine but he’d take a look so I come back an hour later and he says there is nothing wrong with it. Now it’s been a month since I broke it and it’s been fixed and checked and the screen still doesn’t work. It does things by itself. It blocked about fifteen contacts. Ordered things. Changes music. It’s like the think is haunted. And the touch is so off it has taken me almost an hour to get this to be legible. If you bring your phone here expect the screen to not even work and practically be haunted. Ridiculous. (Edit) I can’t go back to get it fixed because I explained to the guy that I don’t live in new paltz I just go to school there and it would be ridiculous to drive all the way there and he assured me it would work and guess what... it doesn’t

I had an issue with the audio volume on my old iPhone. I had already tried all the quick fixes I could find online. So I popped into Computer Hut on my lunch break and they were immediately able to to help me - within 5 minutes my audio was perfect! I was worried Id have to get a new phone but Computer Hut saved me :) Thank you!!
Alex was able to download apps for me and access accounts by showing me how to change my password that noone else was able to do. He was very knowledgeable and patient. A Godsend!
I went to computer hut with a broken iphone 6plus screen. I completely obliterated it, and thought that it would be more economical for a college student to get it fixed via a third party. I was terribly mistaken. Not only did I pay $150 for a screen repair but I also forked over an additional $50 for the camera repair. I took accountability and ultimately did not blame it on their poor diagnostic. After all it was a physical defect. However, I was offended and thought it was poor business practice when afterwards I came to them with a hardware issue. Apparently iphone 6plus at the time had a bug that was called touch disease. My touch screen was unresponsive and glitched and I came to them for help a third time. They said there was nothing they could do, and offered to buy my phone from me for a measly $10. I was screwed out of my warranty, had a useless iphone, and made the switch to samsung which if anything happens to it I know repairs wont be so costly as an iphones. Its situations like these that teach you its sometimes better to go straight to the manufacturer. I dont know if its because its college town but some of their rates are absurd on more technical issues. I called them not too long ago for kicks on an issue involving a macbook pro and their rate to fix a motherboard was way higher than Apples. They offered a price of $500 to replace the motherboard and Apple quoted me $475 to have the entire computer fixed inside and out. Please consider wisely before using their services, shop around and know your options.

Im not a computer savvy person and I was weary of being overwhelmed with too much info that I couldnt understand or questions that I couldnt answer. To my amazement, Chris was right on my level plus, he was kind, patient and super thorough. The services were reasonably priced, too! My iPhone was run over by a car on a muddy road and they fixed it for $250 quickly and accurately. They were honest, reliable, and did what they said they could do. I was worried because Ive had a bad experience where an independently owned Verizon shop cannibalized my iPhones operating system. Recommended.

Nice clean store with many options of electronics. I brought my Nintendo 2DS to them to sell for cash. I wasnt too sure of the price they offered me for it but then Gamespot offered my way less so props to this place for keeping it real. One of the workers even suggested selling it through a private sale so I could get more. Honesty is key in my eyes and I like that they were with me. Would recommend to any locals around! 5 stars!

Paid $150 plus tax for a screen replacement on my iPhone 6s plus with no prior issues, but ended up with hardware issues after receiving the phone back. Never going back there again. They ruined my $850 phone.
These folks are super, the store is one of a kind. They have many of the computer and related items you could ever need, at amazing prices, right on Main Street in New Paltz. I was very pleased when these guys opened up, and have been nothing but delighted with all of my experiences and transactions since day 1. Reasonably priced computer equipment. Definitely helpful to have around in a college town. Got all set up in my dorm and realized I needed a new HDMI cable, luckily they were there.
Had a busted external hard drive enclosure and the folks here were able to fix it up within a week for what seemed to be a reasonable price. They communicated everything about the process clearly and were always super friendly!

Totally unhelpful. They said my issue was with Verizon and sent me uptown which was completely false. When I contacted Apple support online I was given clear and simple instructions to resolve my problem. Why couldn’t Computer Hut help me in person?

2022-03-05Shop Local! I walked into the Hut looking for a tool to change my iPhone screen. They offered any implement I could ever need and were willing to answer any questions I had. Super friendly! Much appreciated—as they probably could have charged me for the tools, their time, and gave me the run around. But the entire experience was pleasant! Highly recommended! Thank you!

2022-06-29My laptop keyboards enter and backspace buttons stopped working so I brought it in to be serviced. Eventually I received a call saying they had accidentally damaged my motherboard in the process of removing my keyboard and so it will take longer to repair. After a month it was ready to be picked up, and they gave me the wrong power cord back. When I went back to the shop they said they mustve lost it and gave me a different one of the same kind. The keyboard itself is similar to the one it used to be but the feel is completely different and my down arrow key fell off. I no longer trust them with my devices and will never be coming back.

2022-02-17They are okay for some things but other things not so much. Brought in a laptop and they werent able to fix it but still charged me and never actually returned any screws that were holding the thing together. Came back to get my screws and they didnt have any of them anymore. Be mindful if you do end up going here and dont leave until you can verify the work they did on your device and that all of your device is being returned to you

2022-01-08After a memory card was accidentally shoved directly into the SIM card slot of a brand new phone, our family was starting to think the phone was irreparable after 2 Verizon stores told us there was no way to remove it. Less than 2 minutes at the Computer Hut and the card was pulled out and we were on our way! New Paltz is lucky to have a local, friendly & independent tech repair store
