This place is pretty in the summer and spring. During the winter it has some life with branches growing along walls and poles. However, it is nothing like looking bright colored flowers and tree during the summer season. This is a great place for picnics and group events. People get married in this gardening. This place is a gem for the city.
Love the Conservatory Garden and so do my children. My children love the childrens fountain area which features a beautiful sculpture birdbath/waterfall and koi fish. Its a quaint area of the park with lovely views and clean bathrooms. Its a nice contrast to the far North area of the Harlem Meer which is often host to homeless, mentally ill and even crime.
It was beautiful on a beautiful day: a well-maintained and expansive formal garden that feels comfortable while supporting many visitors. Many connected paths are provided, as are many benches, to accommodate the public without feeling crowded. Affording particular pleasure were:. The crabapple allees offering shade and benches.. The great arcing Wisteria Pergola on a rise with views.. The abundance of lilac and wisteria for color and scent.. A fountain with seasonal plantings.. Much more.Choose the time of day and season well. There are restrooms.
This park is beautiful. The fountains, flowers and beauty of this hidden gem is energizing during these crazy times. There are 3 fountain areas all next to each other with different looks and vibes. There is a cool coffee shop not far called dear momma grab coffee and go!
Hidden Gem in Central Park. Beautiful to walk around and admire this part of the park. It is maintained and nice for taking photos (wedding or other) or for chilling about and reading a book on one of the benches. It is not like a botanical garden so it is pretty quick to walk around and see the whole garden. There is also a bathroom available here.
Hidden gem for a nature break: come through the tall gates to find one of the most gorgeous gardens in central park. With plenty of seating benches across the garden and plenty or photo ops. I loved spending time here and just rotating my seating area and chasing the sun through mature trees.
Lovely refuge from the hustle and bustle. There are there sections of this formal garden near the northern end of Central Park, just off 5th Avenue. The sections on either end each have gardens with fountains in the middle. The center section has a large open lawn with a tall fountain at one end and the Vanderbilt gate at the other end. On the other side of the fountain is a raised pergola festooned with a dense cover of wisteria, that turn a rich purple when they bloom in late spring.
There is currently a huge construction project going on, which will take several years to complete. There is some of the garden that is not under construction, which is mainly trees, bushes, and benches. Ive never been there, so I was a little disappointed when I saw that it was under construction, but Ill be back once it is done!
Very peaceful spot! My girlfriend and I came here after visiting the Museum of New York City. What a good decision that was! If you’re looking for a spot to get away from all the city noise, the Conservatory Garden is perfect for you! There are a few fountains and a canopy that is really cool to sit and relax under. The views are actually pretty good in here, too. You’re best bet is to bring a friend, book, newspaper, etc. to get lost in while you’re here! Such a great spot!
Incredibly beautiful section of the park! The three sections are each uniquely different, but spring has been beautiful this year.No matter the time of year, Id definitely recommend a visit here. After you are done, you can walk west up the hill and through the north forest.
Gorgeous! I would actually recommend entering the park here if you intend to visit this spot. From the road there is a huge iron gate that you walk into where the fountain and a lot of beautiful greenery starts. Entering here will make you feel like youve traveled through time. lots of shaded benches near by, CLEAN BATHROOMS behind the fountain and overall a very peaceful place!
With three magnificent fountains, my favorite being the boy flutist with girl welcoming birds for a bath and drink. And the mezzanine terrace, behind the central geyser fountain, of interlaced wisteria, invokes a magical mysterious vibe of a secret garden semi-circle nook.A wonderful place to explore and search for the most esoteric of birds, from other dimensions, the red-firey Phoenix and the eternal unicorn. The actual creatures of the attainment of longevity harmonizing with the infinite of the cosmos. 🌹💜🧘♂️🧚♂️🦄🍷
It felt like finding a hole in the bushes and falling out like Winnie the Pooh. There is no garbage here so as more and more people choose to visit, please consider that its in the middle of the busiest citys in the world and still clean, help by holding a trash bag on long walks/runs and throw trash in the trash bins.
Our fourth trip to NYC and finally made it to the Conservatory Gardens and they didn’t disappoint despite the drizzly May weather. Beautifully kept, serenely quiet and sprinkled with little surprises at every turn. The rest rooms are so clean! Bonus points: we saw a chipmunk! Must return when the wisteria is in bloom.
Shakespeare Garden or Conservatory Garden in Central Park is a must see if you come to NYC in Spring but the weekends can get a little crowded and that can beat the relaxing experience in the garden. There are also restrooms in the near 👍 as well as nice cafes in the museums that are nearby.
The Conservatory Garden was so lovely!! It was very lush and green, and there were lots of flowers so it smelled very nice. The fountain and the pond were very beautiful, and the trees provided a lovely shade. There were plenty of benches to sit on, and because it is a hidden gem, it was so peaceful. Will definitely go back!!
If you’re looking for a Central Park wedding, it doesn’t get anymore beautiful than the formal Conservatory Garden. And the best part is this is a paid, permit-only location, so security will keep out the uninvited guests, otherwise likely to bomb your photos. So if you’re not into that sort of thing, check it out. This spot has stunning views in the fall with all the greenery atop the pergola, and in the spring though the pergola is mostly vines all the nearby trees are pink and flowering.
Its a very quiet Serene place that you can visit up until 6 or 7 p.m. I passed through there to get to the other side of the park to walk my dogs the flowers& the plants have a great variety of flowers and plants you would enjoy sitting and reading or just sitting and relaxing in this Garden people come and take pictures for their weddings various other videos as well. they have a water fountain there
If you’re into flowers, gardens, taking pictures of beautifully take scenery or if you’re a tourist you’ll probably find yourself here at least once in your New York City experience. For those of us that live here, please be courteous with this and every part of Central Park. It is our beloved gem and we’d like to keep it that way. Otherwise, enjoy!
Im addicted to central park lm unemployed for very long time (l hope that finish very soon) and l dont find any other place better than to be there, out all problems and in good meditations, peace of mind to communicate with King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the King of Glory JESUS CHRIST. A very beautiful place to be, it let us know about the greatness of GOD creations of the beautiful of natures you can see an small part of it. Come and enjoy it, l challenge you about you gustoooo.
Great quiet space in Central Park while still interacting with people. This is a garden, not a park, so everyone keeps off the grass in this space. So you wont see crowds lounging around on the greenery. This area is for those who wish to take circuitous walks amongst plants, flowers, hedges, small statuary and fountains. Benches are placed along the paths to rest and to absorb the views. The garden is contained and gated with operating hours. If you are looking for a quiet break visit the Conservatory Garden.
This Place is like visiting a Live Art Show. Five colors of Magnolias blooming in a splendid Show. Benches for you to relax & soak in the unique experience. Unfortunately our friends from the South have only known one ....White Magnolia only. Bushes & trees here, Are all a beautiful blend of Color & Fragrance.
Spring is almost here, and the Conservatory gardens are getting back to life. The Conservatory waters are very popular in winter due to the ice skating rink, but should spring comes, the popularity of the three gardens surge.I really enjoy spending time next to the Secret garden, “hidden” at the heart of the English garden. With all those blooming flowers you feel like in a fairy tale. The whole place is divided into three well – beloved gardens – Italian, French, and English gardens. The Italian garden features a large meadow with yew hedges at its borders, along with a large fountain and the amazing Wisteria Pergola. It fields narrow alleys under rows of crabapples. The French garden is in the northern part of the Conservatory. The fountain is surrounded by beds of seasonal flowers. The English garden has flowers, specially selected to bloom all year long. All three of them are quiet, serene, and even romantic. Expect to see a lot of people who read, relax, rewind, and even some quiet couples. Before this iconic garden, the place was occupied by a conservatory. It stood there between between 1898 and 1935. It was transformed in what we know today by Gilmore D. Clarke, and was open to the public in 1939.
Hurry to see this magnificent garden, bigger then the 89th street tulip garden which is also incredible. Wonderful assortment of plants, trees, landscaping. The public bathroom was functional but not great. Plenty of benches. 5th Ave entrance is not handicap accessible but a south and north entrance is but the entrances are inside the park.
I’ve visited Central Park on quite a few occasions but never, until now, ventured as far north as the Conservatory Gardens. I was blown away by the beauty and tranquility of these gardens, which are free to enter and easy to stroll around. They are immaculately kept and the planting schemes are stunning. The day we went it was a perfect summers day and they were getting ready for two weddings. I wish I had visited this place sooner.
Never been but looks pretty on the pictures... Might visit one day after I got the necessary shots and all... I mean come on... Cant hurt that much a tiny little needle that injects the good stuff that cant kill you for once?I promise they use smaller needles than I do while cooking and recovering.. Even tho my husband had to pierce some tough meat these days... Need muscle for thick skin and connective tissue... Scary stuff... Better dont annoy the people who handle your needles these days and be grateful for those who dare to handle your food while endangering their own families for once. Not fun to lose loved ones and to own a scar or two...
I rediscovered this enchanted corner of central Park after many years since last time I had visited it. It is still one of the most unique places in the park, where you feel like walking in the garden of an European Renaissance mansion. Take a moment to rest under the shade on one of the benches and youll immediately feel more than simply rested! During the warm season, youll also have the chance of being an occasional guest of one the many weddings celebrated here! Enjoy it to its fullest!
The Conservatory Gardens are an incredible oasis in the midst of the city. Located at the northeastern end of Central Park, and is comprised of three separate gardens, a beautiful majestic fountain, countless trees, bushes, flowers, and beautiful lawn. You will love it!!
This place is usually not the first stop for tourist in Central Park, its like a hidden gem. The park, divided into three parts, show how different gardens can look like. Its a wonder place to visit to breathe the fresh air. Awesome in spring for Instagram worth pictures.
This place is great for family picture or weddings . The people who maintain this place to a phenomenal job. I just wish people would stop and read the signs all around the park . There are some places where youre not allowed to take pictures . Overall this place is great for all kids and everyone of all ages. Oh and if you have a dog please pick up after him
I love how peaceful this area is and it makes a great space to read a good book and lay down very peacefully. The only thing that upset me is that the water fountainwas turned off due to Quarentine. The water fountain makes the area ten times better and you can sometimes see rainbows within the fountains mist.
Its a great place to rest and walk around. Theres a lot of benches along the walkways too. There are flowers, ponds, fountains! Its a great place to take your kids to discover the beauty of nature and plants. Its peaceful and clean, not to mention bathrooms are always stocked and usable!
The conservatory garden is a very beautiful place. It is very serene. During the Spring, Summer and the beginning of Fall, there are beautiful flowers of many different forms. During the Winter, there’s mostly green. Overall, a very beautiful place to walk around and just take a moment to yourself.
This garden area is absolutely beautiful. A great place to have a peaceful walk among lovely flowers and fountains. In the Winter, its still beautiful, but doesnt have the same effect as the verdent beauty of spring and summer.Enjoy a stroll and a quick lunch on the benches and listen to the birds and waterfalls as they lull you into forgetting youre 100 feet from 5th Avenue.
What a gem in this city. Feels like youve momentarily stepped out of the raucous NYC and been transported to a lush, faraway garden. Please treat it with respect; be mindful of your trash. Check their website for bloom schedules, and dont forget they close at sundown. Enjoy!

2021-10-25This garden is on the upper east side of Central Park and easy to get to if you live up town and dont want to drive into or take the train to midtown. Also has a beautiful flower garden and trails that lead to the central park Onassis reservoir. I enjoy walking south then I run around the reservoir, then west and north to make a nice large loop. 👍

2021-08-24It really doesnt get any better than this location! There is so much variety and beauty and each season brings different photo gifts. Ive photographed weddings, editorial and engagement sessions here and each one has been so special. Make sure to get a photo permit before coming here if you plan on taking photos. The location is a DREAM!

2021-08-14One of New York City’s hidden gems, this is toward the north east corner of Central Park. It is so beautiful that you will frequently find wedding photography shoots going on. There is gorgeous landscaping and the layout is such that there are several unique areas with their own distinctive character. If you’re a New Yorker, get over there and spend a few hours. If you’re visiting New York, don’t miss it!

2021-11-11Unbelievable flower arrangement. Breath taking! Cant think of a better colorful, flowing and vibrant garden except Bellagios flower show extravaganza, which is not as natural and holistic appearing.

2022-05-09A colourful and fragrant springtime stop to sit in the sunshine for a takeout lunch. Today by the north fountain the pansies and at least three types of daffodils are in bloom. Magnolias and lilacs are blooming to the east. It is not that peaceful as you can hear young people yelling immediately to the west near the public bathroom. And you can hear some traffic noise. The sound of the fountain helps to muffle it. We are in the middle of a big city.

2021-06-11A beautiful place to walk around and look at the different plants and flowers. A little bit of a hike from your normal tourists spots but I think that works out well in this case. Would love to see the garden in all seasons.
