Im a HUGE Conversr fan and collector with over 275 pairs. I visited the NYC converse store this week. The customizing lab downstairs was pretty cool. But i was disappointed there was no BIG display. The chucks flag covering half the wall was gone. No chucks skull face. No fancy hanging display. It was really average and mundane to say the least, particularly for such an anchor store as NYC. Ah well... I was there!! There were a few pairs I liked, particularly the liberty nyc ones, but I already got my quota for the trip with ones bought earlier in the trip at other connverse stores... Did get a pair for my son. The staff were friendly and helpful as usual, though!
Mindblowingly rude service coming out of nowhere. I walked into the almost-empty store and no one showed the slightest willingness to help. I saw a style I liked but the display was 1 size bigger than mine so I thought I would try it on first, and if I liked it I would ask for my size. Suddenly I heard someone shout “EXCUSE MEEEE” and a sales clerk came over and curtly said, “WHY ARE YOU TRYING ON THAT SHOE? That’s clearly NOT YOUR SIZE.” I gave it back and asked for my size. She pretended to check on her phone and proceeded to say with utmost disdain, “It’s size x and you’re size y. Why are you putting that on.” I told her there wasn’t ANYONE helping me. She looked around and knew she couldn’t rebut to the truth, so she just straight up said there wasn’t my size. I knew she was just giving me a tough time so I stood up and as I was leaving, she raised her voice and said, “What’s your problem.” I should’ve said SHE was my problem. I am a big converse fan and never had such unpleasant experiences. Totally unprofessional and blindingly rude. I am a person of color so I wondered if she had a problem with me the second she saw me. I honestly wanted to file for a complaint if I knew her name. Disgusting.
Minus one star! The most unprofessional staff I have encountered. I wanted to buy two pair of custom Chuck Taylor and the assosiate was not the least helpful a (and I was the only customer) I ended up leaving. Im a life long 65 year old fan of Converce, I love my All Star Chuck Taylor 2 they must be at least five years old and they are litterary falling apart from high milage. I wanted to have a pair of custom high tops for my deaughters wedding , as they are my signature...Im very disappointed.I know you can do better, Ive been in sales all my life and this nonchalance is not acceptable, you need to raise the barr.PS. Im not giving up on Chuck
Cool store, but the MAJORITY of staff is young and not attentive. Although the store is laid out like a loft and it is not claustrophobic like many SoHo retailers, the horrible customer service will stop me from visiting again. There are lots of options of shoes displayed in all sizes and colors. there is even a customer store downstairs.
Worst cashier service ever! rude as hell!! But the shopping guide girl is so nice and polite, she patiently helped me found the size I need. So sad all my experience in this store ruined by the cashier service, never gonna come this store again! Seriously, kind reminder, need to Improve your service level!
We were two visibly trans autistic people who needed shoes and get awkward around people we don’t know. We were welcomed in the moment we walked in, got help when we needed it, tried on like 15 pairs each, and found some we liked. The staff were all really friendly to us, in a way that was just humanizing. Fantastic.
I stopped by to purchase a pair of converse classic and left disappointed since they couldn’t provide a matching pair of the same size. I tried on 2 pairs of the same style and size, and you could clearly see the difference in width and length when placing the shoes next to each other - I overheard the customer across from me (while dealing with a different staff member) complaining of the same. Staff tried to convince me (along with the customer across from me) that one foot is always bigger than the other - which is irrelevant with the shoe defects.I hope management inspects all shipments moving forward - for the sake of - and prior to selling them to other customers. It’s a shame that NYC’s flagship store doesn’t have higher standards when it comes to quality control.
I Really appreciate Converse Soho store very much .They have sneakers that you cant get anywhere else and a very large selection of they beautiful sneakers that I wear and love. The sales people are very wonderful. Enjoy your time in Converse .And then you could go to Little Italy for a wonderful & delicious dinner in Napoli on Hester and Mulberry st I highly recommend the food and service. Plus delicious dessert 🍨. God bless.
I have visited this location every time I am in the area. The store is very spacious with ample sitting area. However, I am annoyed by the lack of selection and the availability of their meager offerings. A few times I wanted to get a pair but, they didnt have my size or a color I saw online. I feel like the first half of the store is empty when they could have more shoes being displayed or clothes. Instead, its just empty space. The staff has always been friendly and very willing to help.
There was a worker there by the name of Joanna.. She kept following me around the store harassing me and my kids . Everywhere we went she followed I repeatedly told her that we were fine we were just looking.. She replied she didn’t like how my son was looking at the merchandise. I felt insulted because she racially profiled my son! SHE SHOULD BE FIRED !!!!
I like the open, industrial feel of the place. I also like the product selection. The staffing was light, but I was able to find someone to help me without too much effort. The salesperson was nice and apologetic when the wrong sizes were sent up from the stockroom. It was a decent shopping experience.
I must tell you that my first visit to Converse was a wonderful experience! I was on the hunt for sneakers to wear when working out and I didnt want to buy the same old running shoes Ive been working out in for the last 25 years. Tyrinn approached me and she was incredibly honest and helpful. I trusted her and walked out with a pair of CTAS MOVE High Tops in white which are AMAZING. Theyre SO comfortable and very cool looking! My legs look so long when I wear them- I AM IN LOVE! Im so glad that I decided to visit this store.
Well the store looks fantastic and my daughter is a big fan and reason for visiting. I think the store would benefit from some undercover shoppers to improve staff / customer service. Staff leaning against the racks, not moving around and helping customers. Some of their appearances looking untidy with wearing hoodies up. A flagship store should be flagship in every way.
Fantastic shop. Great staff! Bought a fantastic pair of Metallic pair of shoes for my 40th Birthday in October - but they have now split and i want to get in touch with the store - but how? I live in the UK. I love these shoes so much and want another replacement pair!
Love the layout and the staff were all friendly. My problem with the store is that the womens sizes all seem to stop at 10 and I wear an 11. With all the modeling agencies in the area youd think a Flagship store would also have large sizes. I want the cute sneakers too but no off to the mens side I go. You need to fix this
Really want some chuck Taylor’s in the black and white platform but there’s never any sizes! Been looking damn near everywhere! I ended up buying half a size too small (according to reviews) and I was delighted until I got home and tried them on properly. Too tight :( and I don’t think they have my size. Now I need to return
Appalling customer service. Staff members are clearly disinterested in their jobs and helping customers. Ended up leaving the store after an unacceptable wait to have sneakers bought out to try on and staff were unable to answer basic sizing/stock questions.Overheard interactions with other customers and staff were just as shocking.
I would leave a 0 if I could. THE worst service in all of retail potentially. 45 minutes of waiting = forgetting the initial request, 3 instances of bringing the wrong shoe! And this was on a weekday with few other customers and an army of staff, only one of whom seemed to be trying to help customers. The manager of this store should be demoted. I was calm the first few times of wasting my time, but the idea of having to wait any more to actually get the shoes I requested was too much. Buy online or skip this mismanaged store.
The customer time service is the worst ever. I waited 30 min for a shoes that never come, so I leaved out. Very disappointed from a store like this for this kind of wait time and treatment. If you are going to buy something here you should know that you will have to wait like an hour for it. Never coming again.
The store has 2 levels with a very nice elevator. The first level has regular brand of converse with different sweaters and jackets. The second level is the customization studio where you can customize your converse with different fabrics, laces, studs, drawings and much more.
Pretty disappointed with this store. I came all the way from philadelphia on a bus partially just to go to the converse store in SoHo. I specifically wanted to try on the white low top leather platform sneakers before buying since I had heard the sizes are kind of wack. So I go into the store and sit on a bench for probably 15 minutes before someone comes to help me. I ask for the shoe and they bring me every size under the sun EXCEPT the ones I asked for. Took another 10 minutes for someone to come back which the incorrect sizes again, and then probably about 20 minutes later someone came over to tell me they don’t have them in my size. Not sure why they couldn’t look that up in the first place instead of making me sit on a bench with my socks on for almost an HOUR. I asked if I could order them in the store to be delivered to my house and the dude looked like I was asking him a rediculous question and said he didn’t think they could do that. Okay... so I ask to make sure they had them online and even asked about how much shipping was. The guy either had only worked there for 3 hours or just had no idea what he was doing because he gave me all this incorrect information and after spending an hour looking for them online it has become clear that they do in fact NOT sell them online, they are in store only. So now I’m just completely turned off by converse and I’m just going to buy my sneakers elsewhere
Asked for a mens sz. 11 Chuck boots. The young saleswomen scanned them and told me to wait, theyll be coming in a few minutes. After 15 minutes and no shoes yet, I asked again and she told me just wait a little more. I waited about 15 minutes more and still nothing. I got up and left, the store was not even crowded.
Service here is a joke!!!!!!!! Ive been to this store countless times and just decide to get my shoes elsewhere. People just dont care if youre a New Yorker. They want dumb turista with a giant list and no questions....my revenge? Try all models (even if they give me the face all the time) and buy online. Or find another brand of course! STAY AWAY!
I went to the Converse store in SoHo New York City. The converse I wented to purchase, pink Converse. The S.A wanted to sell me the display. And I prefer a new one from the box. But I didnt leave the store empty-handed. I purchase a yellow Converse with a little bit of suede and a little bit of canvas on it a beautiful color. So my trip to the Converse store was outstanding. Here is from a girl whos been wearing Converse since she was five
Last August, during my holidays, I tried to buy Converse X Kasima One Star Low Top sneakers. The store was closed for renovations and, since it was a limited edition, it was almost impossible to find them in another NY store.I contacted the store manager (Leonard Mondesir), who was incredibly kind and decisive. The next day he wrote to me, asked when I could go and opened the Converse store on Broadway St. just for me.Many thanks to Converse and Leonard for their extraordinary kindness and customer service.Merry Christmas from Málaga, Spain.
Frankly I was a bit disappointed with this Converse store. There is actually not much of a selection. What they do do well is carry and showcase the designer Converse shoes. I suppose it fits the Soho mold. Best thing about this store is that you can customize your own Converse sneakers. You are the designer and no one else will have your kicks!

2022-06-23Insanely rude customer services. Went to the store with my little brother as he hoped to buy a pair of the Run Star High Platform, which he wanted for so long. We first went to this red hair lady and asked her for help with our sizing. Told her my brother needed a new pair in his size because the one we were having had a blue stain on it and she said she would check it from the warehouse for him. After waiting for nearly an hour, we heard nothing from the lady. So I decided to come up to her and to figure out what was going on. She told me she had no clue what I needed help with and called for another lady (blonde hair one as shown in the picture) This lady pulled her aside and they were discussing something in front of me and my brother, which did not seem positive to us at all. The blonde lady which then came to me and said they weren’t able to assist us any further and if I wanted any more help then she would have to call the manager. I was like just called on us then! We literally just asked for the pair in my brother’s size, waited on the couch for almost an hour just so they could come up and be this rude? So then we waited for another 10-15 minutes watching them chatting whatever it was about us that we for sure wasn’t pleasant. We also were waiting for the manager to come but none had showed up. Gladly after they finished their “tea” talk, the red hair lady came over and she said she was sorry that it was her fault they weren’t able to get the shoes for my brother. She then brought the same old one that had a blue stain mark on it to my brother and told him it was a new one. My brother still, bought the shoes because he really loved it and I had no way to convince him not to buy them. Overall, this was truly a dissatisfied experience and I clearly would not suggest going to this place if you guys don’t want your day to be ruined. If I were him, I would obviously buy these straight off of online and would never ever come back to this store again. Very disappointed!

2022-08-01I had an awful experience at the Converse flagship store. I walk in and no one provided me with any assistance. Finally after being in the store for about 10 minutes someone asks me are you waiting for shoes and I respond no. I say no one has even asked me if I needed any help. Then as I proceed to go to the front of the store another worker comes and asks me, oh are you waiting for shoes, I said Im not waiting for shoes because nobody ever came to ask me if I required any help. Then to add more insult to injury the worker says to me oh well its 8:00 so were closed. I state, are you serious right now? No one ever bothered to help me. Ive been in the store over 10 minutes without help and now youre telling me you are closing? Mind you there were five other people who were still in the store waiting for shoes. I told the lady dont even worry about it I dont need to buy nothing in here. I will never go there again. So I left and I went to Aldos.

2022-06-18I couldnt find my item in the store but the 5 stars are for the AMAZING staff. They took the time to explain to me how to get the particular pair of shoes that I was looking for and they went back to check their inventory and contacted other stores if they had my item or not. Thank you guys for your help.

2022-07-01Came here this afternoon about 4:00 pm, I asked for a pair of sneaker waited for 15 minutes, nothing comes out, no one tell me the status of the sneakers if they have them or not, there’s another person asking for the same pair of sneakers he gets them right away, I asked again and nothing comes out. I had to asked three different employees to get my shoes, I’ve just felt ignore the whole time maybe cause I’m Latino? Who knows . I had to wait over 45 min. The only reason that I waited that long is because they were for a present.

2022-08-22Im very mad because i order one pair of custom laces for my converse that i just bought there and the boy told me it was 7$, while he was doing the work he was talking all the time with his coworker and other boy, i have to wait 20 mins. Or more and when i got to pay they tell me it was 15$, when i arrive at my house i see that the sizes are different and i cant change then because i dont live in new york and that day was my last day. Thanks man... The more expensive bad laces that i have. If i have the chance i would not recommend that store.

2022-08-13I gave it 2 stars cause they are not coordinated at the soho store. I called to confirm a pair of pride converse sneakers I really liked and wanted 2 pairs and was told they had them in stock. I arrived and was told I have to go online. So I wasted unnecessary money on traveling just to be disappointed and angered by staff at the site.

2019-06-29Went past here with a hop on hop off your and had to go visit. Ive only worn Converse my whole life and was excited to just walk around and see the place. They have a place in the basement you can completely make your own shoes. Was expecting it to be crazy expensive but then they told me $100 to make the ones I wanted and I jumped at it. Everyone was over the top friendly and helpful and it only took 2hrs to make my shoes. Nice selection of all things Converse and very reasonably priced. Expected to pay a lot more because its the flagship store and NYC, thought they would bump up the prices for tourists but was very happily surprised. Must stop for Converse fans. Huge selection of shoes and for the crafting they had a massive selection of designs, patterns, logos, shoelaces, studs everything you could want to customize your shoes and make them your own.

2020-08-27I was just browsing, not necessarily looking to buy anything. I walked in when the store was closing in 5mins. Sales rep - Carlos was soo delightful!! I did not feel rushed. I tried on my sneakers, i needed a different size, they definitely took there time with me which I really appreciate. Ultimately, I felt compelled to make a purchase - this was one of the best experiences I have had since shopping during the pandemic.
