Not busy, we were seated right away even on a Saturday night! Everyone on the staff was very friendly and ensured we had a great experience! The chicken marsala was unfortunately pretty bland. But the boneless wings were very good. And the peanut butter 3 layer cake was to die for!Overall an excellent experience, cant wait to go back!Uodate: also great ice-cream in the back and right off the bike trail!
We went for lunch. Excellent service. Our fried cauliflower appetizer was very good. I ordered fried lobster tacos and my wife had a salad. I really enjoyed my tacos and seasonal pumpkin beer. They have a bar you can sit at and patio seating. We will certainly be returning.
Love the soda sampler concept but the soda was unremarkable. Excellent pretzel appetizer but it could use a beer cheese or beer mustard instead of queso that tastes like its from a can, better suited for cheese fries than a pretzel dipping sauce. The burger and salmon burger was abysmal - tasted like it was reheated Cysco product. Rushed service at 10pm, an hour before they close on a Saturday night.
It was just ok. I tried them for the first time tonight- ordered through doordash. I thought I’d give it a shot, since I’ve been here for about a year and want to expand my regular rotation of local restaurants to patronize. I was hoping for some extraordinary pub food and was testing the waters to see if I should bring my boo to have beers and dinner here during a future date night. I have passed this place on foot during my jog sessions many a time and so I was intrigued.I ordered the spinach artichoke dip (~$12), real turkey club(~16) with american cheese(+$1) plus a bottled birch beer, butter beer, and sarsaparilla ($2 each)The spinach dip was not what I was expecting. It was very dry and reminiscent of plain cream cheese with lots of spinach folded in. It had the texture of being over baked or reheated- just very dry. Not much flavor, I thought to myself as I ate it that I thought it could benefit from a chicken bouillon cube or something. Luckily the house chips were addicting, super crunchy, salty and good enough to eat on their own.The club was ok. The turkey may be “real” and roasted in house but there wasn’t much of it at all. I assume the use of the term “real” here is in relation to cold cuts. I will give them kudos for that, it was clearly hand carved. The sandwich was small compared to a standard club sandwich available at your local diner. The fries that came with it were super crunchy and dry- kinda like when you leave oven fries in too long.I opened the birch beer to try tonight and it’s crisp and flavorful. I am curious to try the other two sodas. In conclusion, I am disappointed by the amount of money I spent tonight on dry, bland food. I don’t know if I’ll get dinner here again but I would be inclined to stop by on one of my jogs this summer to have a soda as a treat. After all, I can’t think of another local establishment that has house brewed soft drinks on tap, and I think that’s novel and fun. I’d still be willing to give their ice cream and beer a try as well. I was between two and three stars but decided to go with 3 because there is clearly a spark there and I don’t want to tank their rating. If I could, I’d give 2.5.
Inventive and varied menu with very friendly staff. Eat inside or out with a heated patio. Locally crafted sodas can be sampled in a flight or on tap with bottles versions too. Stay for a slice of ice cream cake. Great appetizer selection and happy hour. A beer and soda lovers delight. Tight parking lot.
Covid-19 precautions in place. Atmosphere was nice. Food and service excellent! Even the dill pickle was firm, crisp and perfect! Family friendly too! Didnt have the ice cream as portions were large. You know its a good place when the sweet potato fries are crisp and they serve it right... Melba sauce!!Definitely will stop again when in the area!!
Stopped off for a pint or two and dinner. pleasantly surprised at the amount of outdoor seating options Including patio seating. See pictures. A mistake was made in dinner preparation. and Eric the front end manager delivered my remade dinner and apologized for the error and gave us the next round of pints on the house. Such a pleasant surprise!! Josh, our waiter, answered our beer questions as if he made them and even convince us to enjoy homemade ice ream desert! thank you for an enjoyable pandemic summer dinner on the patio for hungry n thirsty travelers!
Great place. I really liked their menu. They had so many good choices. I ordered three enormous steak tacos....the food was visually appealing and very yummy. All the beer is made there, and happy hour from 3-6pm every single day which means 4.00 dollar beers, and some inexpensive happy hour goodies. The service was great, too. I highly recommend this brewery.
Decided to eat here on our recent trip to Lake George. So glad we did! It is crazy-difficult to find vegan options in LG but Cave offered several. My partner, who is not vegan, was happy with the quality and portion size of his shrimp cocktail and fish and chips. I ordered falafel tacos, which were beautiful! The fresh salsa was delicious. Our server was knowledgeable about the food, and was friendly and attentive. I loved that the hot sauces she brought to try with the tacos were available in the next-door gift shop. We bought several for ourselves and for friends. AND on the rear side of the restaurant is a wonderful ice cream shop, which also offers vegan soft serve. This was such a great experience all around and we will happily drive a little extra on our next trip to have lunch here again. Although we didnt eat on the patio, well try that next time--its lovely, plenty of shade, pretty lights and ambiance, etc.
Great lunch place! Fabulous menu, daily specials, home brewed beer and soda (agave base, not corn syrup) I had a delicious burger prepared expertly! ( I ordered a-medium rare burger, with extra crispy bacon.) my husband had the Reuben, also delicious. They have a plethora of desserts as well. Our waitress was delightful and helpful, but service was a little slow. I highly recommend.
Ive only tried their almond milk soft serve so far, and I have to say its AMAZING! Soft, sweet, creamy and scrumptious. And they have SO many custom flavors you can add to it, probably almost 2 dozen! Ive had it plain, and coffee flavored - both were great. Cant wait to go back and try more flavors.
I dont write reviews very often, but this place is very clean, the staff are extremely friendly and seem to enjoy working here. The eggplant fries, Thai chicken strips and maple brussel sprouts (special) were perfect. The bluesberry ale was also delicious. I would recommend this casual, friendly space to anyone looking for a quiet bite to eat and amazing service.
Ok, service was very good. Ambiance is good. Had good choice of food, beverages, and wine. Most if the food was very good..fish n chips huge, n great. Buffalo chicken soup was hot, and tasty although a bit too thick for my taste. Chopped salad too salty, but great portion. Wings were inedible..way over cooked n dry. Overall experience in past has been pretty good. Last night, wings brought down score, as it was our main meal.
Would never go again. We brought my mother to celebrate her 55th birthday. Called ahead to make a reservation for our party and server didn’t really seem comfortable with the table size (7) or know anything about the menu, as he kept coming back out (about 15 minutes after we ordered) to basically ask us all again about what we wanted with our meals/ how cooked). All of our food was brought out cold and it was dog rough. The beers were just as bad. Not sure if it was the glasses or the beers but it tasted/smelled like dirty dishwater.
Party of three: Visiting from downstate New York for my bachelorette weekend. Started off well with beer samples and friendly wait staff; we ordered dinner and drinks and were already looking at the dessert menu. When dinner arrived one of the meals came out completely wrong. Not something we wanted to eat, so it was brought to our waitress attention. Turns out they had made last nights special. A few minutes later the manager came out and said she would make the correct dinner and only charge us for the second one. (I would hope we wouldnt have to pay for the meal we did not order). However, no one ever came back to check on how our meal was. 10-15 mins AFTER the two if us were finished with our meals the correct meal had still not been brought out.It took another 10 minutes or so before a different waitress brought out the correct meal and took away the uneaten meal. By this time we were there almost 2 hours...We took it to go.Needless to say, we skipped dessert and did not get any more drinks like originally planned. It was unfortunate because the food was pretty decent. We sat in the outside seating which was also nice.
Everything about this place is excellent. The outdoor covered patio is a wonderful touch and accompanies a flavorful menu and tasty/original craft beers brewed on site. Friendly and attentive staff rounded out this five star experience--very glad we chose this location over Davidson Bros where the food is meh and the beers are as good if not slightly less tasty.
This place isn’t good. I was advised beforehand to avoid it and I wished I had listened. Good thing they have beer because you need to be drunk in order to eat the food. I don’t even have the energy to describe how bad the food was. Just enjoy your night at some other establishment instead.
We came to this place with friends and family after spending some time at Lake George. Very original menu with excellent service and a private room if you have a party of 10. I had one of the best Fish/Chops dish and Buffalo Chicken Soup. The staff was very helpful and attentive. I will rryurn and highly recommend it.
We went at the start of happy hour (Monday- Friday). Pints for most draft beers were $3.00. The porter was our favorite, it was well balanced. We felt the red was a little light on flavor and body. The burger was great. I had the Black and Bleu burger. It was cooked perfectly. The Cajun seasoning was just right (many places over season their Cajun burger to the point you cant taste the beef, not so here!). The Bleu cheese was also properly proportioned so as not to over power the burger. Overall, a solid burger. We also had the Thai Chili Falafel wrap. Again, well balanced. This was fusion done right. The flavors not only complement each other but the quality of each cuisine in this dish was well done and could stand on its own. There was now stretching it to make plate work.We also appreciated the fries. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, lightly seasoned and not at all greasy! I wish we had time to ask about their method, but we had to run. Anyways order the fries.Although they had plenty of vegan and veggie dishes, one or two more veggie appetizer options would have been nice. Overall a wonderful meal. Fast service too!
Food is okay when they remember it. We keep trying to like them. The ice cream is awesome and in the summer the out door ice cream stand is wonderful. But every indoor dining experience leaves me questioning why I went. Forgotten items, forgotten guest. Wrong menu items entirely. Go for ice cream and soda, but some where else for dinner
The environment in the pub was nice. The service was fairly good. The food was a bit on the expensive side and, unfortunately, I didnt care for their beer. I tried their sampler of six beers and I found that all the beers had a sour, green flavor to them. It also annoyed me that they sold soda for $1.25 in the gift shop but in the pub, it was $2.50. Refrigeration is not worth double the price.
The food was not very good, but it was pretty expensive. My fish had a thick rock hard batter and my chips were just regular frozen fries. We were put in a back corner and ignored. They gave my son a regular bun when we asked for gluten free. Luckily its a wheat sensitivity not allergy. We wont return.
Arrived there tonight at 5:15 waited maybe 5 minutes for a table. Waited at least 5 minutes for the server to come to the table. Then after we ordered it was almost an hour before we got our meals. We didn’t hear a word from the server the whole time as to what was causing the delay. Very uncommon but still sad.
Fantastic variety of food, drinks, and desserts. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the lake George/ Glens falls area. Been here a couple times and its now a staple spot to visit each year when we visit lake George. Wonderful food and friendly service, try it out, you cant go wrong!
First let me say my family and I frequently go into your restaurant, always something we enjoy. Last time we were in, we sat at the table near the bar and computer screen where the girls are. As we were enjoying our meal, we overheard a gentleman who we assumed was a manager of some sort, yelling at one of the girls for a cup of soup. DEMANDING to get it, and the way he was talking to them was awful. I have met Pat a few times, and cant imagine she knows this is happening. We felt horrible for the girls, one in particular who looked as if she was about to cry. We watched him closely the remainder of our stay, and he paced back and forth watching them, very eerily and had a miserable look on his face. We also heard him complaining about someones lasagna dinner. Listen, I know things happen behind closed doors but the way he talks to the staff is utterly terrible and he should be ashamed of himself. And, if hes going to try to reprimand someone, he should probably not do it directly in front of customers trying to happily dine in your establishment. We will be back, but hoping we wont see him again! On a positive note, the food was wonderful and so was the service we received, as always.
As a frequent dinning member and the occasional uber eats customer, this rate saddens me.Today myself and my boyfriend were seated on the deck (hostess/ women who brought up to the table even mentioned how we loved that table)We then proceeded to sit there for over 15 minutes with out anyone even coming over to say “we will be right with you”No drinks, nothing. After 15 minutes we throught maybe we should leave. We waited about five minutes before walking out.Due to the usual excellent experience there, I will be returning.Next time high hopes to actually be greated by a server.
Visiting Glens Falls for a work trip, but always like to look for local, craft breweries and found exactly that with Coopers Cave Ale Company. I sat at the bar and was met by a friendly bar staff. I order their Porter and it was great!I additionally order the Tuesday Special Broiled Strawberry Salmon with steamed mixed vegetables and sweet potato fries! Before leaving I asked to sample the Bluesberry Ale, so amazing! I highly recommend a visit to Coopers Cave Ale Company.
My 1st time enjoyed everything quick service Bar side , I drank cranberry juice orange vodka n sprite, the garlic parmesan wings were good and the bavarian pretzel , the pint of mint choc chip ice cream was yummy ... My friend T Meier tried the beer and was very pleased to bad hes moving to VA , See you soon.
Cozy, comfortable pub conveniently located in Glens Falls. Love the food; have never been disappointed. Only negative is the on-street parking, which can be a challenge at busy times. The restaurant has no parking lot of its own. But its worth the aggravation to dine here.
I hate to say it, but I will not be returning to your place again and you can thank your manager for this! He is an absolute disgrace to the restaurant business, and should not be in that line of work. My folks and I have been frequent diners there for years, and over the last 4 months or so weve seen a new guy trolling around the place. Found out hes now managing it, and boy oh boy was that a mistake! Screams at the staff in front of customers, cursing and walks around like hes some sort of dictator! How can the Bethals allow this to happen?????? Its a shame because we loved going there, but after hearing him berate the staff like he did... we are done. Until hes gone at least. Great food, awesome staff...lose the creepy guy!
The menu is varied with interesting takes on many barstraunt staples. Building your own burger is fun. There are also a plethora of substantial entrees to go with sandwiches and lighter fare as well as many excellent appetizers. There is a great selection of ice cream-centric desserts and you can even walk 50 feet from the patio to try innumerable choices from the service window. As the name implies, there are certainly crafted ales(and sodas) that are all made on the premises. These brews are outstanding and can be taken home by 22oz. bottle or by growler. Exercise via the bike path seems available as it runs adjacent to the building!!
Excellent food, large menu with plenty of dishes to choose from. I chose my usual Reuben and it was in my ten ten of Reubens ever enjoyed. It wasnt to big or too small, it was just right. A portion size can say a lot about a restaurant, but I always find that the best way to gauge a restaurant is to order a classic sandwich or dish.My party shared the buffalo chicken won-tons and a appetizer of loaded multi-color nachos. Both appetizers were a hint that this was going to be an enjoyable meal. The Coopers Cave restaurant and brewery are known for their quality ale. I found it to rival its local competitor Davidson Brothers Brewery. The food beat Davidson Brothers hands down, but the beer was right on par. Coopers Cave had one up with their signature sugar cane sodas. I went for the Saspirilla and my daughter had the Birch beer, my sons had the Chocolate and the Cream Sodas, all were excellent. The kids recieved complimentary ice cream. We stopped by the ice cream window on the patio side of the building and all enjoyed a couple of scoops on a beautiful Friday evening in Glens Falls, New York. The service also deserves mention, it was fast friendly and expected of a three star night out.I strongly suggest enjoying a meal at Coopers Cave Ale Co. and bring home a jug of their top notch ale.
Ice Cream is the best. Older Blonde woman who works the window is as pleasant as pleasant as a manure spreader at a lawn party. What a hag! Two times we visited and had her sourpuss face greet us with impatience and intolerance! Get rid of her, she ruins the experience.
Ordered take out and picked it up got home to it being a different thing than I had ordered and I called back, they were so kind and drove to my house to drop off the food that I had originally ordered, they go all out for their customers and the gift shop is full of so many local goodies
I ordered 10 wings and a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw 8:30 at night I got home with my food I only had two pieces of celery and the pulled pork wasnt even in the sandwich it was in the side of the box for $26 I was very unhappy I guess you cant order food at 8:30 at night a half hour before they close Nicole salt it tasted very old

2021-12-31Great customer service and delicious food. I highly recommend their Tavern Ale. They have good seating inside for how small it seems. They are following all required guidelines set in place. The prices are decent and the menu has many choices. I will surely be back!

2022-05-03Friendly staff. Nice selection of beers, which lean to the Ale side. Red Ale and Tavern Ale were very nice. Only had the soup (Buffalo Chicken), excellent. Food prices seem reasonable. Main tasting / dining room, small, but very cozy.

2022-04-19I ordered a sandwich with fries. As soon as I got it I realized that the fries were cold. I was seated at the bar. Upon telling the bartender, he immediately took care of it and I had wonderful hot fries for my sandwich. Thats service and thats what will keep me coming back.Great sandwich also!

2022-05-15My wife and I stop by and she loves their Icecream, we decided to stop in and check out the dinner menu. Its a great place for getting a good hamburger for the Friday Night Dinner Special- Bacon Cheese Burger with seasoned fries. I do recommend trying the Woodchuck Hard Cider.

2022-02-24The owner actually argued with us over the order being wrong not once but three times. My mom was charged for a dinner fish and chips and I was given a shrimp salad when I ordered a chicken salad wrap. When the owner came out with pulled pink chicken rolled in lettuce that was so clearly thrown together with no Mayo or anything that looked right, I decided to just let it go and not say anything and not eat it.When I got the bill for a dinner and a meal I didn’t eat I then told the waitress, it shouldn’t be on the bill here’s 5 dollars and keep the refund. Then the owner started arguing it was our fault for ordering wrong. Not good costumer service when we paid 66.00 dollars for me not eating and a dinner we didn’t order. The whole experience was a absolute disappointment. Get your acts together and stop blaming and charging for your poor trained staff and poor customer service all the way around.

2022-05-21Use to live in Glens Falls years ago and use to be one of my favorite places to go. Don’t get the chance to come up now living just 20 miles away in Saratoga. However, was in the area twice this week and saw a couple reviews by others that are not in congruence with the experiences I use to have or the two experiences I had this week so I figured I’d write an appropriate review. To be fair, I see some of the other reviews generally were talking bad about the owners which I had no interactions with. Sat at the bar both times and was served by a younger female bartender who was great as well as the other waitresses that helped me throughout my visits. Attentive, polite and most importantly they were competently handling the bar, dining room and quite an absurd amount of take out orders. Considering short staffing these days everywhere, I’d be pleased to have them working for me.The food was great. Had a black and blue burger, maple chipotle wings, bluesberry beer, a lemon raspberry cake and coffee between my two visits. Everything was fresh, cooked perfectly and took what I would consider an appropriate amount of time to get to me. I’m a huge fan of wings, having a lot of family from Buffalo and their wings with that sauce is one of the better ones you will find outside of Western NY.My only recommendation would be that both for the sake of the women who were working the pub and the patrons at the bar, that they come up with a better system for to go orders, door dash ect, bc the bar area is crowded enough with the kitchen door right there as well and it becomes a bit much for the staff, people picking up food and bar patrons.High marks for food and staff and will go back soon when I’m in the neighborhood.

2022-05-08As a member of the hospitality industry for over 50 years I have a problem with an owner of an establishment who treats her guests that spend their hard earned money in their establishment with such disrespect and a holier-than-thou attitude. As very frequent customers in the past we have not set foot in the restaurant for almost 3 years. There are plenty of other breweries/restaurants out there that treat us very kindly.

2022-04-09Stopped there for lunch last week and enjoyed my favorite chicken salad wrap like I used to do pre pandemic.Stopped in tonight for an early dinner for the same. The chicken was drenched and dripping in some kind of vinegarish dressing. The chicken did not look like while meat like it usually does. I ate half of the wrap as I was starving and had nothing to eat for hours while I was running errands.I left the other half of the sandwich and runny coleslaw - the dressing actually gave me a stomach ache later. 5 stars for last weeks lunch 1 for tonight. I didnt bother leaving my phone number like I usually do for points.

2022-03-13We ordered 2 american burgers2 kids mealsPaid over $90 and our food. It was cold. It was picked up as soon as the food was done and delivered straight to us (8 minutes down the road). We ordered from our hotel room. One of the burgers was not what we ordered and they gave us a peice of sponge plant based burger. I guess they chose to substitute it and did not bother calling to see is we wanted that as a substitutition. Ive had plant based burgers before and they were good, this one was we ordered was horrible tasting. We sweet potatoes fries as one side and they gave us not only onion rings, but burnt onion rings. Didnt bother giving us any condiments to put on our burgers. Oh and my kids had to eat their Mac and cheese and rice with their fingers because they didnt bother giving us any utensils. Also, the rice was not made fresh, it was obviously frozen at some point. My advice, spend your money at an establishment that is better with communication and serves good quality food.
