Copa Airlines in Jamaica

The JFK location uses contractor personnel at the ticket counter who are inadequately trained and lack customer service and de-escalation skills. I witnessed several shouting matches between frustrated passengers and contracted personnel. At one point I thought arguments would come to blows. Very scary situation for my family. Of the half dozen or so people working at the check-in counter, only one was an actual Copa employee, and only she had the knowledge or authority to resolve passenger issues. Even the Copa employee was incompetent, as she inexplicably converted my wifes ticket from a round trip to a one way, leaving her stranded in Panama. I would not fly Copa out of JFK even if the tickets were free.

Avoid this airline. Run at lightening speed. This airline was recommended to me. No. Please avoid this airline at all cost. The most uncomfortable, crowded long dismal plane ride ever. Going to my destination and my arrival home was the same. I think they only do runs to Central and South America. Airlines across the board have gone in a downward spiral across the board. Usually I will take American or United and l gambled on COPA because of a recommendation. Hmph. When l state this plane ride was the most uncomfortable and the snacks were trash. Believe you me it was big time trash. The sad thing about COPA they are affiliated with United Airlines under Star Alliance. Really? Geesus.Star Allisnce was written across the outside of the plane. Trash. The COPA customer care team over the phone is so much worse. But l will save the company face The pre boarding the representative who checked in our luggage was heaven sent. The representative was respectful and nice and totally understanding. I wish l could remember her name the rep at JFK. Kudos to her. She salvaged COPA reputation somewhat.

Great airline personnel and comfy flight to Panama and beyond. Easy transition at PTY without immigration or customs to worry about in either direction.

It’s freaking ridiculous the way your ground personnel and ramp workers handle the luggage I landed in flight # 804 at 11:09 pm and its12:57 am and we still don’t get carousel 7 moving. Stupid.

Dont use Copa in the post covid world, their customer service is non-existent and you will need to use it when they change your flight(by more than 8 hours in my case). They refuse to refund the ticket despite them changing the flight. They wont answer their phones and if your lucky enough to get through youll be waiting at least an hour on the phone.Update: They told me they would reimburse me in 6 weeks, 6 months later they said they wouldnt and denied the request.

Horrible customer service, they made me and 3 family members lose the flight, saying that they would relocate us and when we called to be relocated they wanted to charge me 3 times more than what the flight cost me, they never helped me I made a complaint and even him Today they call us for 2 months, the only thing that customer service could tell me is that I better buy another flight on another airline, 😠
