The falls were pretty. Do not follow your GPS to get to the falls though. Take 441 to Glen Rd. When you turn onto Glen Rd. the street forks, go left. There are signs along the road shortly after you turn indicating approved parking areas. After parking keep following the road to the bridge. Go under the bridge and youll see the first set of falls and the path leading to the Postcard Falls. If you like walking and dont mind some steep hills, you can go to the trail on the right (when you are facing the first set of falls, to the left if facing the house by the falls). That path will take you back to the main entrance of Corbetts Glen Nature Park off of Penfield Rd. The bugs are plentiful though so bring some sort of repellent if youre going on the trail.
The park is just OK. The falls are nice. The trails are too man made and lack the rustic nature I expect for a park. The black tarp used to keep weeds from growing through the paths I too visible and less nature like. The falls are nice, very minimal, but worth the walk to get there. I have seen better and worse parks.
It is a nice park not gonna lie. But parking is very difficult to find. I parked at near the entrance where their were NO signs saying I cant park there and after about 15 min later I came back to see a ticket on my car. Kinda ruined the rest of my day. There should be some sort of indication for where I should park. Other than that the park was very nice and going through the tunnel is very pretty.
Interesting little park. Easy to hike and mostly flat with a few up and downs most with some semblance of stairs for these. Fun to train spot if youre into that and scenic stream that runs through a portion of the park including a few small waterfalls including the nicest one at the Old tunnel entrance to Park where you cant really park anymore. You can technically only enter off of Penfield Road. Parking lot is somewhat small and can get crowded. Overall, its an okay easy to walk/hike park though a bit boring if you like to hike areas where you feel like youve gotten away from civilization for awhile. This park doesnt offer this as youre often reminded that youre in an extended backyard environment with a busy raised railroad right of way running through it along with the sound of busy expressways not too far away either.
It is gorgeous here. There are two places to park. A bit away from one another. One seems to be a parking lot (judging by what the signs said.) Then another (where I parked) was down this dead end road with a few houses. The road had signs telling you where parking for the falls started and stopped. Then you walk down and you will see a tunnel. You can follow the path to the falls. There are many small ones and a bigger one. It is kid friendly, and stroller friendly. Definitely a unique and beautiful get away right in Rochester!
This is a great place to go on a quick hike, or a long stroll. Every season theres something new to see. Its a popular spot for families and dog watchers. Theres two entrances, one with more parking off Penfield Road and one off Glen Road. The one off Glen is closer to the falls and picturesque tunnel, but theres much less parking. I went to the one off Penfield Road a good half dozen times before I realized the other one was there, or that there were more trails near the water, so make sure you explore everything.
Moderate, urban, unpaved trail through the woods with a small waterfall amidst a stream. Definitely need hikers or boots at this time of year. Full trail experience will lead you up and down hills. Just did trail with our three and four year old that hiked entire trail.
Corbetts Glen is pretty much the perfect hiking adventure to have with smaller kids. Its a smaller park with short level trails that pass by multiple little waterfalls, through pretty grassy fields, lovely forested areas and even over boardwalk clad wetlands. My toddlebeasts and I splashed in puddles, hunted for acorns and through stones in a waterfall. It was a pretty perfect afternoon.Unfortunately parking is rather limited in spots on the street outside the park, although Im told that there is a larger parking area at the far side of the park. So if youre going on a holiday or weekend afternoon this is something to keep in mind.
Enjoyed my hike through the woods. Path is mostly well maintained, but has a few spots that are mucky from recent rains and wheelchair accessibility is only from the parking lot to the crossroad and around the small loop. There is a place on the longer loop that is a drop and climb through a gully which would be very, very challenging for a wheelchair to access as its quite steep.
What a well kept secret near Rochester. Really beautiful running steam winding through the glen . A rail fence attempts to keep folks out of the water, but is easy to climb through or go around as many did on a hot July day.Theres a decent walking trail, albeit a couple of sections were lacking mulch leaving the plastic weed barrier exposed. That might be a little slick on a wet day.The trail was easy to accomplish. It weaved through a wooded area, a meadow and a bog. Lots of birds to see and here.It is located in a neighborhood so respect the residents. On street parking is available on both sides of the road within posted signs, there is no parking.Locals say that towing is enforced. There is a posted handicap parking space. Youll need to go down the road under the bridge to the end, theres maybe two spots that are not paved. It was very enjoyable.
If your looking for a nice low impact hike this place is incredible and surprisingly the trail is a few miles! Love taking my pup here. Due to current events we parked across the high-way in a parking lot(3/4 min walk). We could easily walk along the grass to get to the trail since at that time no parking was allowed. Highly recommend.
This used to be one of my favorite little parks growing up. I lived on one of the streets nearby and used to play down here as a kid. I have fond memories of playing in the fields with the milkweed and hopping on the rocks near the waterfall with my neighborhood friends; it was like our neighborhood’s little secret. It’s so disappointing that it’s become so overused and mistreated during the past year that it looks completely different and requires fencing.
Very residential, also felt like more of a tourist attraction rather than a real nature park. One of the entrances was temporarily blocked off and the other had some oddities as well including poor signage leading to the actual park entrances in terms of where exactly to go/park. Overall it was a fairly peaceful park. Strange that theres a property in the center of it.
So, I have a special place in my heart for the Glen; its where I caught my first trout on a fly. As an avid fly fisher, I think this is one of the greatest spots in the are to fish. I have fished the park now for a few years and have fished the stretch of Allen creek from Penfield to the park and it is a great stretch of water offering some really exciting fishing. That being said, Im dissapointed with what the town has done with the park. She I first started going there, it was like stepping back in time and into a landscape painting with the sound of the passing freight train echoing in the distance, or right over your head; depending on where you were in the park. Now the fences are up, and I was just there a few days ago and they have added more fences and blocked more stream side access. And, this doesnt just affect the fishermen, I know many photographers who are upset about losing access to the prime spots to take a few pics of the waterfalls which are really spectacular in the right light. We love the Glen, it was our first hiking spot for our kids, all 5 of them have enjoyed the loop as well as wading and fishing in the pools beneath the falls. I will give the park itself 4 out of five, it can get very crowded and there is minimal parking, but I gave a rating of 3 due to the fact that they just keep adding fences. I know it is a conservative effort, but places like this were intended to be enjoyed.
Beautiful Hike! We went here today and found it to be a great place to hike. Nice variety of settings in the park. Very well maintained trails. Several good picture opportunities. We saw deer, chipmunks, squirrels and a Pileated Woodpecker. Bring bug spray. Even though it has be dry, we had plenty of bugs
I went for a visit today and got some interesting pictures which I posted to Google Maps. I also got to see a hawk catch a chipmunk and eat it for dinner. He ate the whole thing. The water was flowing pretty well and I saw a mom with her little girl walking in the creek. It looked like they were enjoying themselves. It was a warm day, very warm considering its the middle of October. The park is a great place to go for a walk. And as you can see there is some wildlife making the best of it there. One of the other visitors told me there were two large snakes in the tree but I wasnt interested in getting their picture.I got to see the hawk and ran out of memory while recording video. Its hard to believe we have such a nice park in the middle of much developed property. This place is a real gem.
Definitely not enough parking. Definitely. The stream is great for kids to play in; however, it seems that it is currently off limits due to concerns about erosion and deforestation. Hopefully they will open it up again soon. The hiking trails there are well-maintained, and youre not too difficult for youngsters.
Wonderful place to visit, especially on hot summer days. Trail is shaded and cool to walk, for the most part its very easy as well. Theres only one smallish valley that can give some trouble if you have sore knees or arent very nimble. Nothing technical, just a little steep. Stream is perfect for wading through and exploring with slower, shallower spots for small kids.
This beautiful park could serve you for a long walk or a short, scenic stroll. The waterfalls (and old entrance tunnel) up front are beautiful and scenic. There are enough trails looping through the area to keep you busy for quite a while. They could use one or two more you are here signs inside the park itself, which can get confusing, but its all good. The trails can get a little muddle, so wear hiking shoes. Also, the parking gets a bit tight over on the route 441 side, so you might want to enter off of Old Penfield Road (other side from 441). Overall, this is a beautiful place and you will enjoy it.
Easy hiking. The trails are pretty well kept. We did see a bunch of poison oak right along the edge of the trails at the start but as long as you know not to touch them, youll be fine. The most scenic parts of the hike are down at the bottom by the Corbets Glen tunnel. There are small rapids along the creek that lots of people were playing in. The water is very shallow, perfect place to hunt for creek creatures and to splash around.
If possible try going to the tunnel entrance. The big brother looks scary, but isnt at all. Go right and you get two choices in paths. One near the water and one a few feet away. Both are great. This side of the park is smaller but its a nice stroll with a good simple terrain. Very nicely well kept paths. Please respect this beautiful little place.
Definitely a hidden treasure in Rochester , a very nice secluded Park despite its proximity to houses and major roads. Definitely a section of woods you can get lost in, while in the middle of a city. The area is full of history, waterfalls, and unexpected little tunnels. Due to the fact that so few people know about it it tends to be more empty; usually filled with locals. Be warned however the park is not very big in comparison to other local parks, and the majority of trails are groomed so that anyone can walk them. The natural layout makes it feel as though it is large and sprawling, despite its size.
This used to be an awesome park, but some overzealous townie regulator is trying to turn it into a snapshot rather than a park for patrons to use. Fenced off public creek. No more fishing or letting the kids wade in the water. Bicycles are now deemed engines of the park. Someone buy this regulator a Prius and point them out west.
Wonderful place to go for a scenic walk / hike. The trails are relitively flat and they wind around an amazing creek that has a small water fall. Parking is a nightmare, but worth it. There are two entrances to the park. One off of Penfield Road and the other off of RT 441 in a residential neighborhood, park on Penfield Road.
I have been hiking here for 20 years since I was little and they ruind it with the restricted signs and fences so now instead of enjoying the woods it feels like a stupid nature museum where you can look but cant interact. Was ruined ever since they put the new enterance in.
Gorgeous and giant park surrounding the canal.Nice little break from studying at the U of R or Strong Memorial Hospital.Picnic areas. Playgrounds. Green beyond belief. Running/biking trail that goes from downtown to Pittsford (maybe beyond, thats as far as Ive ever made it)Ive heard you cant actually swim in the canal which is a bummer as Rochester seriously lacks a body of water to swim in when it gets hot in the summer.
A beautiful hidden gem that also provides a great walking path, meditation opportunities, awesome water scenery and great backgrounds for my photography, even sans actual people. Anyone that I have shown Corbetts Glen to has been amazed and pleasantly surprised by it.

2021-08-07Not sure if this constitutes as a hidden gem but on such a gorgeous Saturday, it was pretty empty! One of my favorite places to hide. A great, low impact hike with some beautiful views. If its been a while since youve visited, going into the water is prohibited, so plan accordingly.

2021-05-16Easy, easy, easy. Two parking areas, so that was nice. This was a nice collection of trails with a little bit of everything. We saw a beautiful red-headed woodpecker! Fair amount of traffic, dog-friendly.

2019-06-09Wow! I just love this park. While parking is a bit of a struggle, it is worth the bother. Enjoy the falls, nice walk along the creek, find sings for trails and enjoy the nature. Some trails connect to others and take you for a longer walk... just make sure you allow enough day light for a walk. As you take a walk, take quick breaks on benches and maybe even a picnic table. Definitely bring your camera or a fully charged cell phone.

2019-07-27Nice park to walk but not very big. Only has a couple of trails, and they are quite narrow so biking would be difficult. If you go later in the afternoon when the sun is setting, you may find there are a lot of little flies pestering you. Overall a nice walk though.

2018-07-12Went hiking with some friends and my boys. Beautiful scenery and well marked trails occupy this park. There are a couple parking areas and you can also wade into the water in the creek. Enjoy hearing the trains passing by and the wildlife as you may see deer and other things. Crayfish and minnows are in the creek. Enjoy your hidden oasis in the woods!

2019-04-28I lived in the Rochester area for 30 years and never knew that this trail existed. My father told me about it- we took my 8 year old and two dogs. It was a great trail. Not too intense- just pleasent. I was so happy to learn that this trail was an old fur trading trail used by the French and Iroquois dating back to 1615 (I believe). So cool!
