I rarely eat Indian food outside my mother’s kitchen because honestly nobody can make food as great as her. I probably hate about 98% Indian restaurants anyone has ever taken me to. HOWEVER, this place is the exception!! From their food that taste just like home to some items that are a modern twist to traditional food it is all mouthwatering and fresh.Shawn is a talented chef and owner as Forbes has already recognized!
Went there last night for my birthday. Great friendly place. Amazing food and superior service. The best indian food Ive tasted in a very long time.Special thanks to Joseph and Sam they have a real hidden gem. If you like Indian cuisine this is the place to visit for tasty fresh food and exceptional service.
One of my favorite restaurants in Westchester and have been coming here for 5 or so years. The food is delicious- every time- and the service is generally very good. The owner, Sean, always comes over to check in and make sure everything is good. Tonight we had a new server- Jennifer- and even though they were slammed with outdoor seating, she killed it and made sure we were well taken care of. Personally, I recommend the lasooni gobi, bhuna chicken curry, and jeera aloo- all excellent every time- but everyone always loves whatever they order.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. Period. The food is always fresh, bursting with flavor, and served attractively. Its so much fun to see a family that enjoys working together. They are professional, friendly, and, of course, knowledgeable about the food. You wouldnt expect it, but the wine list has some incredible values.
Awesome atmosphere, service and food. Food was delicious with clean, bright flavors and tastes. Amazing first meal out post-social distancing. Ask for any one of their signature/award winning dishes-- I could literally eat a tray of the Lasooni Ghobi. A couple others to check out: the Shrimp Rangoli, street cart momo, and paneer mirch masala. Make sure to get a nice fat Poori to clean your plate after!
Chicken tikka masala tasted like they put a can of tomato soup in it. Inedible. My husband couldn’t eat his either. Both of our stomachs hurt afterwards too. Meal was $60 and we couldn’t stomach it. Never again.Try Coromandel in New Rochelle! They deliver! No need to go pick up! Soooo much better!
By far, this is the finest Indian cuisine and have eaten here many times, mostly for lunch. Three of us, with a reservation for 5:00pm dined. A waiter was sent over with the bill. I mentioned we hadnt been offered dessert. We ordered and the Owner came over to let us know he needed the table. Long story short, it was quite offensive to be - in short - asked to leave asap. Note to Owner: Shame on you. Terrible manners your end!
Randomly found this place while walking the town killing time for an appointment. 1st time was AMAZING. Went back a 2nd time (for my birthday), AMAZING again. Food is delicious, service was great. Very quiet week nights in there. Not many diners (maybe 1-2 tables more).I will def be going back! My new dinner spot.
If you are into amazing North Indian food, dont look any further. Nice ambiance without being stuffy, amazing food, ranging from the main stays such as Chicken Tikka Masala to less known dishes from North India. Family-run restaurant which has the best Indian food we had in the US so far. Never saw this place empty, so better call in advance. Nice wine list without the ridiculous mark-ups, a nice bar with really great cocktails to start your dinner with. And theres outside seating for the warmer season too. Theres another Coriander in White Plains, same owner, slightly more modern ambiance.
The kick being modern. Things are a little different, they try something new with traditional Indian food. Im used to Coromandel in New Rochelle which is very traditional Indian food. Here they try something new and it works. The staff is very friendly and more than willing to explain their take on Indian food. The selection is large but not as varied as other Indian places. But i will say Im preferring Corianders take on it. I will be returning to try at least everything once! I will agree with other reviewers in saying that their spicy is not very spicy at all. Kick it up a notch!
Ive been a fan of this restaurant since it was in New Rochelle under the name of Rangoli. Youll never meet nicer people in your life, and the food is incredible as well. I really have no complaints, the service is good, youre never without water, the kitchen is wonderful, and I cant stress enough how nice the people are. If youre in the area, I urge you to check it out.
Such a bummer. We had loved this place the last 2 times, but tonight they turned us away 30 minutes before closing time. Actually, they told my son it was take out only, but when I went inside to ask about their 10pm closing they told me the kitchen was closed, AN OBVIOUS LIE.Such a bummer.
The best Indian restaurant in westchester county I have been to , most authentic north indian dishes. If someone loves north indian cuisine , this is the closest to what you get back home , some of the dishes are even better. They have a seasonal menu which is very interesting and worth exploring. The hospitality is great . Overall a great place to dine. Cheers guys at Corriander ,continue the great taste.
Awful business practice by Sean the owners son. We placed an order for $72 for lunch via Grubhub for pick up. We go to the restaurant and they said they never got the order, maybe the white plains location got the order. Grubhub gave me the order number and a phone number and did not mention the address. White plains location is a 30 minute drive which is not doable during lunch. Grubhub customer service was trying to resolve by offering Sean to deliver the food and GrubHub would pay for delivery, Sean refuses to do so. What an awful Manager. Does he not know customer service 101? Im a regular customer at Coriander and have been for many many years, but this will stop from today. I live in Westchester and a lot of my friends eat at this restaurant too. My office staff also goes here for lunch as well.Such a scam! They charged me $72 for food that i never got. I hope Sean lives happy robbing from people. Awful business practice! what a disgrace.I like the father very much who is a wonderful man with great business ethics.
I went to Coriander for lunch on a Tuesday and got one of the lunch specials. Overall, it was a very good deal and the food was excellent. I received a soup, a salad, and with my main course, Lamb Vindaloo, I received naan and rice. The lamb was not too mild and not too spicy.
When this place started was great . this time around I order same stuff I always have . And it was tasteless and watery (Chana masala ) called them back they were rude on the phone and told me to bring the food back so then can give me my money back . Not everything is about money. So went back to get it re done guess what it was the same thing watery and tasteless would no be ordering from them again .
I have been to this place couple of times. I visited it again because of how the food tasted but the service is pathetic, the owner is rude.Last we went there, we were a group of 10+ people who went there and one of us has an health issue, and he eats his own food. The owner simply said no to our request. He said that we had to order an entree for him irrespective he eats or not. Also this restaurant has an annoying policy of ordering an entree for everyone irrespective of how much you have consumed in starters.I would not recommend this place as the owner and all such owners need to realize that we pay money not just for the food, but for the service and any of such person who doesnt respect a customer doesnt have the right to be in the business.

2022-01-31This place used to be good. The service was terrible; the food was oily and the tandoori chicken was burnt. This place has always been on the pricey side but now the prices are outrageous. I won’t be back.

2022-07-03Excellent food but expensive. When you order chicken you get too much meat for one person and no vegetables. Which is really too bad!Th service is not great. We ordered a bottle of wine last night, when it was very hot outside, the bottle was chilled perfectly, but unfortunately left on our table without an ice bucket! The table was dirty and so were the glasses. This is regrettable! The food is really good, but the service is not up to par.

2018-01-21Food was awesome! Service was just as good. The waitress was helpful in her suggestions and really knew the menu well. The atmosphere is really cozy in a nice part of town. Ive never had an Indian beer so I tried the Taj Mahal which was really good. Went really well with the food.

2021-12-01Ive been here before and I remember the food being good; however, this latest experience was far from good. Not long after sitting down, all i could smell was a cleaning/disinfecting smell which was definitely off putting since I was there for dinner. I can say with confidence that the potatoes used in one of the dishes were not fresh, the lamb kabab was flavorless and the dessert was inedible. Truly a disappointing experience. Not returning and would not recommend it.

2019-02-13Beautiful little place, lovely ambiance, funny waiter, and absolutely incredible food!I had the coconut curry shrimp (I think it was called?) and my girlfriend had the Tandoori chicken. Also had the mango/yogurt drink (non-alcoholic) which was AMAZING! (Mango Lassi I think it was called, not sure) We were both super happy with the food and service. Will be coming back very soon :)P.S. You can tell which one of us knows how to take good photos lolNote: My photo of the coconut curry shrimp is NOT of the whole portion, I just like to eat bit by bit on a separate plate 😂

2019-04-10Great experience eating food of different cultures. I was so satisfied with my visit and meal. It was our first visit and we ask the waiters recommendation. So we had -Tri Onion Bhaji ( which Im only used to as onion rings but the onions tasted more like sweet potato) and Chicken samosa for appetizers. The main dish was CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA with rice TANDOORI CHICKEN HALF and bread. Dessert was Gulab Jamun. The food was great and the service was excellent. The only problem u gave us when I got the bill. It required tipping off if the tax.. Im sorry, I dont do that.

2022-03-06The decor was a bit plain, but the meal was good and the portions were decently sized.
