So I’m not from this side of NY but I ventured up here since a friend was in town. Didn’t know much about a Corner Social but what I realized is that it’s a “Turn-Up spot”. You’re not there to have a food experience but it is definitely a vibe. They have the quintessential appetizers from fried calamari to wings. I was shocked that they had lobster bisque and French onion soup. I started off with that and was pleasantly surprised. The French Onion Soup was DELICIOUS. It kind of went down hill from there…food didn’t really do it for me but the music was off the chain.
This restaurant is no doubt one of the best place to eat in the area. Every time I visit this place I am remarkably happy. They preserve their high level service and the highest level of dishes they serve. You will be always satisfied with this place. Warmly recommended.
Great spot, love the food it was very tasteful and drinks were on point as well. The atmosphere is very cool with great throwback music. It can get crowded and cluttered but on the weekdays its good.Divine the hosted was awesome and friendly made sure we got seated right away and even let us choose our table that was available near the window instead of sitting us in the center where we was originally suppose to sit - that was a super plus. A++Our server was friendly and down to earth as well. Our food was great. The lamb chops were very good enjoyed them, chicken avocado sandwich was great not dry at all, chicken quesadillas had flavor as well. Overall was great I was satisfied. For the first time going I was truly impressed honestly. Had a great time.
The food is pretty good, in my opinion the mixed drinks are even better (especially the colada’s) I tried the black bean burger which was alright. I am a pretty picky eater so the next person may like it better but the ambiance was everything!! Love the lighting and the sealed in outdoor patio. We ate outside and even during the rain it was beautiful, love the decor. The manager checked up on us to see if everything was good. Be aware that they don’t have a lot of options when it comes to gluten free meals.
The fried chicken and waffles were fried perfectly. The flavor was perfect. The cutlet and the crust were both seasoned well. The mac and cheese was also tasty but soupy and artificial. The jerk chicken wings were delicious. I do not recommend the crab cakes as they were small and not filled with lump meat, instead tuna like meat.
R&B from the 90s, delicious food and drinks with reasonable prices- what more can you ask for?? I ordered the Prickly Pear margarita which was nice and strong with a a fruity flavor in addition to the Harlem Love Punch. Very sweet and yummy. the Lobster Bisque was so on point and crab cakes my favorite. They had a little too much filler and not enough flavor but we’re still ok.. Yum!!! Ordered extra bread which came piping hot , soft and delicious for my bisque. I was so pleasantly surprised and pleased with the atmosphere, food, drinks and shout out to DJ E. Class. I’ll be coming back!!
[July 2016] Went for lunch. Decent food, nice setting, outstanding wait staff - all of them!I had the Shrimp & Grits which is one of their most popular dishes. The shrimp was just okay but the sauce, roasted red peppers and sausage made a delicious combination of flavours. The only downside to my meal was that it took well over 30 mins for my order to arrive. Not sure if this is usual or not. Thanks again to the staff for making it such an enjoyable experience!
This place is a bit too unprofessional for me and my two girlfriends. The male staff is unprofessional. The music system needs an upgrade and the service is too slow. They were unorganized and didnt seem like they enjoyed working there. If you are an educated women of color in her 30s, past on this place. There are so many more options for a less problematic night with your girls.
I can’t say I had a good experience, sorry to say the waiter was all over the place he barely addressed my table. The heat lamps didn’t work, there was a water bug on the bar they didn’t have enough cups to serve coffee. If it wasn’t for the fact that I had a large family gathering there I would have simply left but I will never visit this place again
Came here on a Sunday around noon and we were seated immediately. Started off with some mimosas and great nachos. I ordered the Fried Chicken and Waffles, which tasted pretty good - but the waffles were disappointingly thin and small, plus you have to ask for syrup if you want it. Had some bites of a friends Croque Madam and it was ok; felt like they couldve used better bread - it was pretty Wonder Bread-ish. The fries on the side were great though. Overall, the atmosphere was nice, service was ok (couldnt get the servers attention a couple of times), and the food was satisfactory. Not sure if Id come back, but it was nice enough for a 4/5.
The service is good and so is the music but it is a bit too loud. I dined in with my husband- we ordered 2 6pc wings, chicken salad, garlic fries a glass of Malbec and a harlem vice cocktail. I think the food was ok- the drink was too sweet (harlem vice) and the chicken salad was decent but had too much dressing which made it a bit salty. On the other hand, the wings were good because we asked for them to be cooked well. Overall , I believe that their food is a hit and miss. I have visited corner social many times and will continue to return because their waiters customer service is skills are great.
The meal and atmosphere were both fine, but the service was very slow and not responsive. We waited a long time to receive drinks, have our orders taken, receive the check, pretty much everything. For a small place, they should be able to manage this better. We had to wait 20 minutes for the new bill to come through. I wasnt too impressed about that. Other than that, the place is lovely.
Was just here yesterday 10/13/17. Had a wonderful experience at this excellent establishment! Friendly staff, very welcoming and attentive! The crowd was mixed, the food was spot on, the drinks were super strong and their Happy Hour was on point!I’ll definitely be returning! I’m a very satisfied customer, and highly recommend The Corner Social!
Corner Social is the place to go for just about everything youre looking for. Dont sleep on their food menu- everything is cooked fresh daily. Good drinks, a fun atmosphere and a dance floor wherever you happen to stand, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. Im local to the neighborhood and frequent here every week.
Banging brunch!!! Although you pay separately for your unlimited drinks and your meals, I had an amazing time. The DJ is the bomb!!!! I was dancing from beginning til the end literally. If you want mimosas thats an additional $25 on top of your meal and if you want to switch between mimosas, rum punch and sangrias thats an additional $35
Sunday BrunchGood location near the 2/3 trains. Also accessible from the many crosstown buses.Restaurant gets crowded. Sometimes you’re luck and get a seat right away and other times you’ll have to wait.Shrimp & grits was very tasty. Just needed to be more hot. Drinks was good and mixed perfectly. I also tried the truffle fries, which was okay. The calamari was pretty good as well.
Good atmosphere, good food, and great music. White Sangria was good; however, you will save money if you purchase a pitcher compared to a single glass. The service is okay especially if they are busy. We had to wait over 20mins to order another drink at our table. We had a good time listening to a variety of music.
I would give it a 3.5. I went to brunch on my birthday..Personable staff, nice atmosphere. There was a live DJ...music just a little loud if you want to have a conversation. Large portions but the food was just ok, it was missing something. I had the spinach dip....definitely had better. I had the steak and eggs. Waiter missed my side of bacon as well. I asked for well done but it was a little burnt. My friends nachos was tasty and a huge plate. I would use a different type of chip for nachos and spinach dip. Also tasted the shrimp and grits, it was also missing something. They did play Happy Birthday for me and the DJ gave me a shout out which was cool.
First customer service was outstanding 👏.The food was okay, I guess based on the good pictures of food that are posted on their website makes you want to eat there. However the food is not that good, we ordered garlic fries and it just taste like garlic powder we were expecting garlic butter and herbs to be all over the fries. The drinks were good too, could of been more creative. Couldnt give more than 2 stars because I really didnt like the food.
Good food. Okay service. We went after work and were told about the happy hour but werent told about the 2 hour window for which we would be seated. After our 2nd round, the waitress brought the check and we were confused as to why, thats when she explained thr 2 hour seating window.
Food - Great: The Argentina empanadas were quite tasty and seasoned very well. The baby back ribs fell of the bone and you could tell they flavored and spiced their bbq sauce - Yes Chef! Sweet plantain size could be smaller and thinner, which would add to texture.Service - Below Average: I was a little thrown off by the full pat down search by the door at 9pm on a Thursday for dinner. It took over 15 minutes for my server to notice me sitting outside and then over 15 minutes to receive my gin and tonic. Server with conroes and bottom half of his head shaved handed me the bill without a thank you or any words or eye contact at all, let’s train this young man ASAP please!Overall - Recommend. While a lot of people come for the amazing trendy music and urban crowd, I wouldn’t sleep on the food. The food was the highlight of my experience and review. It’s worthy of it’s location across the street from the greats. If in uptown, Corner Social is a NYC destination!
Came here on a Saturday for dinner with a large group for a friend’s birthday. I was afraid that because we were a large group that the service wouldn’t be that great but it was fantastic. We had a prefix menu from which I ordered the empanadas, penne a la vodka and the brownie a la mode. I enjoyed the beef empanada more than the chicken. I was pleasantly surprised to see there was shrimp on the pasta since there was no mention of it on the menu. It was one of the better penne a la vodkas I’ve had. The dessert was good although I wish the brownie had been warm. There was a live DJ playing all the best music just creating a great vibe in the place. All in all a good dining experience I will definitely return.
It was such a disappointment to have been verbally assaulted, unnecessarily, for a table that was rightfully ours to be had. There was a tall, lean, presumably manager-esqe man who claimed he was the owner and wanted to withdraw the table we waited for (for over an hour). The customer service, safety for women in general, were non-existent. As a native New Yorker, this was such a disheartening experience. We wont be returning and we advise women to avoid this establishment at all costs.
Best chicken and waffles I’ve had yet 😭. I ended up here from a recommendation from a friend about trying their bottomless mimosas. They actually don’t have them anymore which we were told once seated. Since we travelled from lower Manhattan to Harlem we decided to stay.I’m glad we did. The chicken was so well seasoned, it was amazing however the waffles were a bit few. The fruit was very fresh. I did get a mimosa made with pineapple which I really liked. The service wasn’t good, which I was confused about because it was 10am and we were 1 of 3 tables. My sisters drinks never came out until reminded after we got our food, and we always had to call someone for help. Our server was extremely apologetic and did provide us with complimentary drinks, but seeing as we had somewhere to be, we didn’t have much time to enjoy it.It’s in a community oriented neighbourhood which we were so intrigued by. I would say, if you reserve at this restaurant, definitely go when you have time to kill and you’re not in a hurry to be out within 2 hours.
This resturant was on point. A resturant has to have several aspects that give them a 5 star rating. 1. Host. The host was gracious and extremely courteous. My friends and I asked to be moved from outside to inside and the host was very accommodating. She was super sweet. 2. Live DJ., music inclusive and their was something for everyone. Good food. My friends and I went for brunch. As starters we ordered loaded nachos, quasidilia and spinach dip. There was so much good food and huge portions, we could bearly eat our main course. I had an egg and sausage burrito. Beyond yummy. It came out pipping hot. Simply delicious. Our server was very nice and the Manager took the time to bring our table extra silverware. When you need to do brunch, this is the spot to hit up. You wont be disappointed.
Had pasta the sauce was watery to me and could have been more creamy, the henny colada’s was just a colada had no taste of henny at all . I also got two more drinks me and a friend hers were better than mine but they both in all was still not a good drinks. The food was VERY COSTLY for the amount you get also they automatically charge gratuity , which I feel they should let that be known before . Aside from that the ambiance and music was good for the most part , but I wouldn’t come back here or recommend to anyone.
I spontaneously wanted good food & drinks in Harlem. My homegirl suggested corner social, it was a nice atmosphere. There was good music & vibes. My waitress Jessie wasnt the best and at times I had to ask the hostess to send her over. Jessie couldnt or didnt offer drink suggestions which would have been helpful as a first timer in the establishment. I had the sangria which at first had no fruit or garnishing which I had to request. When I questioned her as to the absence of the fruit, I was advised the bar had run out however had replenished & she exchanged the drink. I would return, however would not be seated in Jessies area. The overall experience was good as I enjoyed my meal, drinks & great vibes with my friend. P.S. I would recommend the Harlem sage... In case your waitress doesnt 😁.. It was also kool to see Peter Gunz in the spot & he graciously allowed me to take a pic of him!
I went there today because I heard some nice things about this place. The food came very quickly which was kind of disturbing, it means it was pre-cooked. But honestly It tasted like it was pre-microwaved. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles taste like they were frozen and defrosted they had a wet taste like they were soaking in water. I could barely taste it.The chicken was nothing special and it was also lacking taste. They don’t put much effort in the food it’s more about atmosphere. The service was great the waiter was kind and on his mark. Unfortunately it’s the food that sucked.
Went here for brunch after church in Harlem. Everything about this experience was terrible from the food to the atmosphere.1. Food: Everything about this makes me so mad. We ordered the chicken and bacon waffles. Yes, technically it was chicken and technically it was fried, but in reality it was schnitzel. When someone orders chicken and waffles the assumption is that the chicken is bone-in unless noted otherwise. There was no such warning on the menu. The breading was terrible and soft. The waffles were basic with bacon on the side. I sent it back and got the crab cake Benedict. The crab cake was almost all breading and waaaaaaaay over-seasoned. I know the difference between well seasoned and over-seasoned and trust me, this was the latter.2. The atmosphere: We sat outside in the heated patio EXCEPT the heaters stopped working. We told the staff, but no one offered to move us.3. The DJ: I get it. Part of why you go to a place like this is for the vibe. BUT I dont think hard core and explicit/unedited rap is that vibe that young couples & families are looking for at 1pm on a Sunday afternoon.Tl;dr: the food was so so so disappointing that no amount of atmosphere or booze could overcome it. I wont go again. 2 stars because the wait service was fine.
My first time being here. Ive ridden past it for a long time and wondered what everything was like and so I made reservations for very early afternoon 12 or 12.15. The lady at the front door was very hospitable and she sat me at a great table. Danisha was the waitress assigned to my table and she was lovely! The reason for the not 5 stars: the website says that there is an all-day menu on Saturday and Sundays from 12p-11p. Then theres a Brunch menu which is 12p-4p. I was ready to order from the all day menu, but we couldnt and was only able to order from the appetizer menu and the brunch menu. They should make that known on their website or update it if its an ongoing policy or rule. The second reason is that upon coming in the restaurant, the music was unnecessarily, entirely way too loud and it was only 12 12.15 in the early afternoon. I love the music, dont get me wrong, but I had to fight to listen to my friends talk and I felt myself having to compete with the volume every time I had something to say. I had asked 3 times if the music could be turned down and it wasnt although they made it appear that it was turned down. Its nice to keep in mind that there are those who have difficulty with hearing in the first place and then when the music is too loud, it wouldnt hurt to turn down the volume a few decibels, if you will. Regarding the food, the lamb chops were perfectly cooked! The Harlem Rum Punch was on point as well. I also ordered the nachos minus the lettuce and it was soooo much, but I took it home for a snacky-snack!
This is definitely a place that I will return to. After being turned away from Sylvia’s that we had a party of 28 reservation for, Corner Social immediately accommodated us in the middle of their dinner rush. My family is extremely picky but they loved their food. This restaurant is run efficiently! There was a DJ that played great music with a nice vibe that accommodated all age groups. This is a great place for families and a romantic outing. If you are looking for a place with great food and a nice vibe in NY this is the place to go.
I have been to the corner social a few times over the years. Whether it be for brunch or dinner, I always enjoy the food. The Lobster Ravioli is my favorite on the menu. I have heard my friends complain about the prefixed group menu price, and how they were cheated out of some money, but I can only lean on my experience. Nice!
I really wanted to like the place but I simply couldn’t. The music and vibes were great but the food? Disgusting. I had their lobster ravioli and it was pure horror. The sauce was horrible and the lobster didn’t taste fresh. I also had their Spanish artichoke dip which was also disappointing. Their drinks were strong and not tasty. To be honest if you’re looking for a spot to chat with friends and listen to great music this is the spot to be! Just get a water though...only.
Really nice place perfect name. The vibes are really nice here. This place is really cool to have drinks and listen to music with your friends. The food for myself and my husband was a no go. While the presentation and service was great the food was not. You can see that there were regulars that probably never tasted good tasting representations of what they were eating. I would go back for the vibes after I eat somewhere else. Again the service was the great.
Amazing food and drinks too. The DJ adds another layer of flavor to a very unique place. I was there with a big group, and they did the best to serve us. Food and drinks were slow to come due to staffing issues, however the manager did his best by offering complementary drinks. Best way to keep your customers happy.
Great place for either a date night or night out with friends. Considering it was a Friday night when we went there was a bit of a wait and they may have been a little understaffed. The Penne alla vodka was flavorful, hot, and a good size portion. Live DJ playing R&B (probably changes from night to night) made the dining experience even better. Indoor and outdoor dining options available but depending on the time of day dining outdoors can get loud especially in that area.
This was my first time at this restaurant type lounge place. I loved it the crowd was a mixed crowd music was bomb & alot of good looking men lol. The food was also good and there drinks were decent overall experience a strong 8 yessss I would definitely go back great vibes.
If youre looking for food GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Food is flavorless and not worth it. Music was good and so were the drinks. Sat there without a menu and basically felt like a forgotten child. Barely saw our waiter, those around us were seated after us and received service, drinks, and food before we even got to order. Wont be returning and not worth the drive.
Hanging out at Corner Social. Love it for Saturday Brunch. It has that grown and sexy atmosphere. Live DJ and drinks are on perfect. I had the shrimp and grits and its was absolutely amazingProps to the DJ for playing some Frankie Beverly and Maze@christianrfrazier#localguide#localguides#nycdining#nycfoodies#nyc#newyorkcity#harlem#harlemhappenings#cornersocial#cornersocialharlem#Manhattan#instafoodie#instaphotographer#goodtimes#saturdaysarefortheboys#saturday#grownfolk#grownfolks#music#live#nycbrunch#ongooglemaps#google#googlemaps
Atmosphere was great DJ was excellent play lots of 90s and 2000 music. The collard greens the collard greens the collard greens This was the best part of my meal The pork chops were not the best but the collard greens the collard greens come for the collard greens. No one wearing mask so covid restrictions were not complied although they checked for covid cards. Food was pricey would go again but would probably just get drinks.
The atmosphere is as the name says. Lots of good energy/vibes from the person who greeted us at the door. Music was up-to-date and enjoyable if you like todays music. The drink I had was amazing I would go back for that ANYTIME! Now for the meal I had steak with carmelized onions and mushrooms, scrambled eggs and french fries. I asked for medium well my friend asked for well, when the server came out he had no idea which was which but it didnt matter because they were both well done anyway, he came out with french fries which I asked for home fries and was not given the choice to opt out if the french fries they were just given to me, my friend said no mushrooms and she got mushrooms, my eggs came out the cheese was not melted at all and my eggs were not hot enough to even attempt to melt it. Sooo all this to say I gave 3 stars because of the food.
So I had a meeting in the neighborhood and was looking for a spot to grab lunch & a drink. I initially sought out a few other places that were physically closer, but upon getting to them, the vibe did not seem copacetic towards outside patrons. So I ventured a little further until I came upon Corner Social. It was precisely what I was looking for.The outside patio hardly even seemed “outside”, by pandemic standards. They did an excellent job of segregating it from the sidewalk traffic & passerby pedestrians. To the point where it almost felt like I was dining inside. The altered entrance is a little hard to find (a bit down 126th) and because of that fact, the staff doesn’t always see incoming patrons. I had stood at the gated entrance for a short while before the hostess noticed me. But when she did, she checked my temperature (all good) and gave me hand sanitizer before entering. It wasn’t too crowded at lunchtime, so I was able to sit where I wanted. The music was blaring, but not overpowering. In fact, it set the mood for my entire experience. My server, Joe, approached me soon enough & was very helpful about my draft beer inquiry. I live in the neighborhood, and spots that can boast such an extensive beer list around here are few and far between. If you’re a beer connoisseur, you should definitely check theirs out.I had the “Harlem Goddess” salad, which is Mediterranean with feta cheese & lamb lollipops. I requested it without onions, but it still came out with some; it’s not an allergy for me so wasn’t that big a deal, but the chef should be weary of such exclusions for patrons who might have allergies. Nonetheless, it was a tasty and satisfying protein-rich lunch that I would order again.Although I had initially planned to just grab a quick bite and head out, the atmosphere & great service induced me to stay on longer & drink more than I really should midday. Joe was personable & friendly, to the point where I felt like I had been coming here for years. Because of him, I will definitely be returning soon.Bottom Line: Great beer list & atmosphere, with even better service. Cheers!
5 stars for Sherita my server! She was attentive, personable, and funny! She made my first time here pleasant.Visited on a Sunday. Loved the atmosphere and live DJ.The tuna burger was served super fast, came out piping hot, and was cooked to my specifications. It tasted OK: not bad or bland, not phenomenal, just ok. I would choose something different next visit just so I could make a comparison. The drinks were a total bust! I ordered a Moscow mule that tasted like I was drinking Sprite, so I decided to switch over to Titos and cranberry juice. That drink was no better; it tasted like straight cranberry juice on ice. The drinks were the most disappointing part of my visit because I was hoping to spend the rest of the afternoon here sipping cocktails with my friends.Final answer: great vibe, great service (go Sherita!) average food, terrible drinks. They definitely need a mixologist on staff. I may return, but nothing is drawing me back here.
This visit was very disappointing! I raved about this place to my friends and was embarrassed by the menu and the quality of the food. Fruit was spoiled, eggs not done all the way, drinks juiced down. Prior to the pandemic Corner Social did not disappoint. How it brunch with no brunch menu. The service was great and that is all. One more thing this is a COVID breathing ground not one worker had on a mask. They also aren’t checking temperatures either.
Honestly the only thing good about this place is the music, the vibes and the service. The drinks are overpriced and just OKAY. The food...yikes...awful. Everything tastes like it came out of a microwave. I want to go back in the kitchen and see if they actually own a stove! Cause whew!! Where is the flavor?! I will say they are very good with COVID protocols. But until the “you must buy food” rule is lifted...I might have to skip this one 🥴🥴🥴
Visited this place on 05-08-2021 a few minutes past noon. If you are going to do the brunch stay away from the steak and eggs and the fresh fruit bowl. I asked for medium rare, the steak was well done. I asked for the eggs over easy, they were fried hard. The house toast was hard without any butter or something to give it flavor. The onion and Portobello mushrooms were unrecognizable in a weird dark, briney & tart sauce(?). The fresh fruit bowl was disappointing. My brother liked his omelet. The pancakes looked good, but because of covid restrictions(as they pertain to bottles on tables) you dont get a proportionate amount syrup. Ask for extra containers when you order. This will allow you to enjoy the pancake when it is hot.I think this might be a good place for drinks. The DJ had a nice mix. The service was average. I felt like I was an inconvenience to the wait staff. When I my nearly full plate was removed a few minutes after being delivered, I voiced my concerns to the wait staff. On the way out (after I requested) the manager said Sorry maybe we can do better the next time you comeWhat would bring me back?
I was trying to get inside to ask about a reservation direct with the manager( party for 10because I found not make reservation over the phone and the security do not even look at my face because he was chatting with his friend. He said to me to wait because he was talking. So rude and disrespectful. His friend also stopped and said, let her ask what she needs. So I usually suggest the place and I was trying do my party there, but I advise the manager to better training the employees. The security just make you lose a party for 10 people and a client forever.
I will never dine at this restaurant again. I have visited four times over the past two weeks and never had an issue until this last visit but the way the issue was handled by the manager on duty has caused me to decide to never return. I arrived with a friend at around 11pm. The restaurant closes at midnight and we were informed that we would be the last table sat for the night and we needed to order quickly. We sat down and ordered all the food we wanted including appetizers and went ahead and ordered two drinks each. Our server brought our drinks and after that we never saw her again until she brought the check. Literally NEVER saw her again the entire meal (which lasted 45 minutes) at 11:45 the waiter came to bring the check. I said “hey, I never got the shrimp I ordered. Is it coming out?” She briskly walked away. About five minutes later she came back and said the shrimp was removed from the bill and the cook sends his apologies. Now in my experience at restaurants when a restaurant makes a mistake, the manager visits the table and makes a personal apology. You simply don’t apologize through a server that’s not how it should be done. But in this case the manager did not come to the table until I asked for her even though she knew there was an issue Bc she removed the shrimp that we never got from the bill. When she did come, she was not apologetic and she justified not doing anything more than sending the apology through the server. I noted that a 20 dollar forced gratuity was on our bill. We were a party of two and were not notified that we would be forced tipped. Now generally I am an amazing tipper and I tip above and beyond when I receive attentive service. In this case the server was not attentive in any way. Never checked on us, and had she bothered I may have gotten my shrimp before the kitchen closed down. I asked for the forced tip to be removed. The manager refused. I asked for a discount in consideration for the mistake and less than stellar experience. Again she refused. I asked to speak to the owner. She said the owner wasn’t there and that the buck stopped with her. I started to raise my voice just slightly in frustration and she abruptly walked away mid sentence and never returned. Total disrespect and lack of customer service. She literally had no regard for my experience and despite having tools at her disposal “to make it right” she just didn’t even bother! I tried not to make it a race thing but in today’s racial climate it’s hard not to consider it when our white counterparts treat us so poorly. Like our business doesn’t matter. At a restaurant right in the heart of Harlem where every patron was a person of color. I was so disgusted! My friend and I talked it over and decided to pay cash for our meal and withhold the forced gratuity. The server didn’t earn it. Period. She never gave us a single thought throughout the night. The spirit of gratuities are that they are voluntary otherwise they are simply a service fee. My friend stayed behind so I could go across the street and use the atm. They treated my friend horribly while I was gone (5 minutes) and they made it seem like we were trying to dine and dash. I don’t steal and I certainly don’t dine and dash! When I returned the atmosphere was very tense. I handed over the cash for the entire bill minus the gratuity. The manager tried to lock us in by closing the door after I handed over the money. Like they were going to shake us down for the forced tip. I couldn’t believe it. And honestly I feel bad for the server because if your manager valued your service as an employee, she would have taken a discount off the bill so that the server still would have been tipped. But the manager didn’t care about anyone in the situation. Not me the customer and not the server who works in hopes of making tips. Do not eat here if you want to be treated like a valued customer. They don’t value you at all and when they make mistakes that take away from your dining experience they don’t even take accountability and make it right. Stay away.
Summer is done for me, but I’m gonna slide over there a few times like a bandit. Def try the drink uptown baby, you’ll thank me later. Drunk fries are like poutine, amazing. There’s this shrimp pesto flatbread pizza that I have to figure out how to make it. Just go eat and be merry and safety safe.
First time there, Outdoor dining was nice. I really enjoyed myself, the food and drinks were good, the DJ did his thing, played all the hot hits. The only thing I can have a complain about is the wait time, a little over an hour, which is expected due to the Pandemic situation, I will be going back soon....
Seating took forever and seemed disorganized in terms of order. Fish (not salmon) smelled VERY fishy and didnt really taste great. Waitress was great. DJ was great. Drinks waitress made was great. Would probably go back. Didnt pick up phone all day to make a reservation and you cant make an evening reservation online.
Great place! Eight of us went for dinner and drinks for a girls night out. Everyone had something different and all of it was amazing! I loved the shrimp maccaroni & cheese with spinach and mushrooms. The portions are large & reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere. Service was great! The manager even bought our table a round of shots because we tipped above the norm. Had a DJ that was great! Cant wait to go back!
I have been there many times by myself and and with different size groups. The reason we keep coming back is the ambience of the place, it always has a really nice vibe. Please be aware the security outside are enforcing dress code, you definitely wanna make sure you’re in it otherwise your night will be ruined. I can say that the service has been consistent for the volume of the bar, the service is okay. Cocktails are pretty nice and the food is good as well.
Atmosphere very inviting with indoor as well as outdoor seating. Ambiance very classy grown and sexy adult over 30 crowd. Enjoy restaurant week menu and options pricing affordable. Service was exceptional and very much appreciated. Will be returning before good weather ends.
Five Stars for this business considering the communication to get the reservation and the dining experience. To celebrate my friends birthday we wanted a brunch party environment and we searched a few places in the city and the stipulations were all over the top and a complete turn off. We were familiar with the Corner Social having been to other restaurants in the area. We emailed the restaurant and got a response rather quickly from the manager Camille. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, she responded quickly and took care of everything via email. We reserved for 15 people and once word got out among our friends we needed to accommodate 25 people... I reached out to Camille two days before asking for a miracle and she made it work !!!!!Fast forward to Saturday at one, we all arrive and are seated at a few tables all in the same area and let the fun begin. The music was great not to loud so you could converse but loud enough to move your hips when your song came on. We all ordered either the shrimp and grits or chicken and waffles.... I didnt take any food pics too many of the same thing posted. IT WAS SOOOO GOOD....oh and the crab cakes we also got a few of those and they were great also. We all got the unlimited brunch drinks and boy oh boy...Most of us opted for the rum punch, all I know was my glass never got to empty. They made it their business to keep it full and b/c of that i cant say how much I actually drank but we had a great time. The DJ was super cool and very interactive with the crowd. They even had raffles going on and my friend actually won !The atmosphere was great, bar seating, great food and accommodating staff. Such a large party Im sure we were a bit much to deal with at once...a bunch of girls with a bunch of questions but she was AWESOME. Patient and took great care of us from start to finish. I would absolutely return and recommend this place to anyone.Oh and the price was very fair considering all the food we all had.
Memphis dry rub wings . I had to verify with the waitress that the wings were in fact dry rubbed since they were just fried and tasteless ... her answer was “ dry rub is not a sauce “😅, however she offer to bring more “ seasoning “ that never reached my table. Must improve item for fans of non messy but tasty wings. Corner mule drink good mix but weak to taste .
Tony was our server and he gave us an amazing experience! We were in town from Chicago and our food to his service was outstanding! The burger was amongst one of the best I’ve ever had. I just wish their drink portions for the mimosas were slightly bigger though. Besides that, I still give them five stars.
I came across the street from Sylvia’s because the host said a 15 minute wait at 3:30 on 10/9/2020. I waited 25 minutes in line to be seated. At 4:00pm a group of 7 white people and a party of 3 men were seated before us. It appears the host knew the 3 males so she gave them priority while we waited patiently. We were told the table was being cleaned but then was told we needed to wait for people to leave . It’s ridiculous . My second time going there and wasn’t pleasant first time either. I didn’t get to get serviced because they’re changing menus and you have an hour to finish. I will never come here again. The setup is horrible, too crowded no social distancing in-line and entry way. Thanks but no thanks👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
This is absolutely a local hang out spot in Harlem. The place is always packed on the weekends and depending on how you feel, it can be a good or not so good thing. You will see the same faces their but it brings a vibe of acceptable familiarity. The music is always great and the drinks are priced moderately. The food is descent but nothing to rave about. Make your life simple...order fries and wings! The staff is always rushing but its because if the volume of guests and limited walking space...its tight up in there, but mainly on weekend nights. Are you going to have a good time there...yes but be prepare to bump into everyone.. all the time
This place is so awesome. The food is amazing. The drinks are off the chain!!! If you are ever in Ny ,you must go to Corner social. When I tell you the music, the atmosphere the people mixed with the food and the drinks... it is a recipe for a hell of a good time!!!! The only thing I can say is that theres a security guard by the bathrooms they are single stalls for men and women. that was a little weird but I cant wait to return!!!
I’ll start by saying that the music and drinks were great, which is why this isn’t getting 1 Star. My boyfriend and I went to Corner Social for brunch, and after getting halfway through our meals we were asked to move to the other side of the restaurant. I have never been asked to move after already being seated and served. We didn’t get the full 1.5 hours of bottomless mimosas as promised. The hostess was extremely rude. While we were finishing our mimosas, the hostess came up to our table and told us that we need to leave. I noticed that no one else was asked to leave or forced to switch tables in order to accommodate other guests. We were there for less than 1.5 hours. I recommend going to another restaurant for brunch where you can get cheaper bottomless mimosas, good food and a kind staff.
Be mindful of your bill total!! Today I checked my bank account and noticed my total was different from my receipt (I always keep my receipts). The waiter had a nerve to take an additional 20% tip AFTER 20% gratuity was added to the bill. I hate people who try to get over on others!!! I will never give this place a dime of my money again. You have been warned people!!! My server was Jose O (the name on the receipt) if this establishment would like to take matters into their own hands.
The food was ok but the service wasnt great. I had the chicken and waffles. Its not a large portion. It had three small pieces of chicken. The hostess rushed our party. I felt the hostess should have told my party that our booth was reserved before we were seated. Instead she told us later. Luckily, we had paid the bill and was leaving. Unsure when I will return.
Good music, good food and crowd and awesome bartenders! But this place is WAY TOO SMALL FOR dedicated customer base. You have to come early to get a seat at a table or bar and youll be lucky if youre eating one of their delicious entrees without people elbow to elbow right in your space and face. They NEED TO EXPAND, ITS RIDICULOUS, Its time! Perfect spot if you like over crowded spaces with hardly any room to dance without having someone bump into you spilling your drink. Ijs lol.
Stopped in for brunch in Harlem. Our original choice was completely booked on this Sunday afternoon, so we quickly found an alternative here. Cool place with a good vibe! It was also crowded, but they got us in fairly quick. We all enjoyed our food and drink choices. Would come back or recommend.
The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because I went to the location during happy hour. I was not very happy with the service given or the staff on the premises. No one told us it was happy hour upon walking in and having a seat at the bar. This information was given to us by a fellow customer. She also suggest that we asked for the happy hour menu, which wasnt a big menu to choose from. That is okay because most happy hour menu are a very small selection. I ordered the crab cakes which was not what I thought it would be, I was not 100% happy with the way the crab cakes taste.
We had a company holiday party this past Tuesday and it was wonderful. Great ambiance and atmosphere. Although not enough workers for our group about 40 of us our wait staff was humble attentive and very charming. Loved their Fruit punch, and chicken marsala with mash potato & spinach was very filling. A coworker had cream of mushroom soup and it wasnt bad, especially since dont care for mushrooms. We had a great time and would come again to try other foods on menu. Come by the corner and find sociable atmosphere.
Dined January 1, 2020This was the WORSE brunch I have ever had I should have stopped at the coffee!! I had the chicken and waffles dish. The chicken tasted like Shake and Bake chicken from an oven. There was no way this chicken was fried! The waffle was definitely Eggo! The service and ambiance was good however, I would suggest you save your money and go elsewhere. Only redeeming factor in my opinion, the mimosas were great!
Unorganized.. unprofessional to begin! I’m going to blame it on poor management possibly. None the less, only come here if you have time to waste. I wish I could comment on the food but I never made it that far. 11 pm on a Tuesday night at that ! We were told (party of 2) that we would sit down and be able to eat off the dinner menu as the bar menu would be in affect at 12am. The Hostess appears to have 3 jobs (and there is only one hostess): distribute take out orders, seat, and complete bill payments. 20 minutes pass and then we have to stand by patiently watching 3 empty tables look at us for another 20MINUTES before we are finally seated. Imagine our frustration when we are now told after being seated ANOTHER 10 minutes before the rude waitress FINALLY comes over and tells us we can only order from the bar menu now. Signed, Hungry and angry.Thank you but no thank you Social Corner, I will not waste time at this establishment again.
Great atmosphere. Outstanding food. Friendly bartender. Cool vibes. What more can you ask for? Visit here and you won’t regret. I checked out his place in Central Harlem today on a whim and this place did not let me down for lunch.Edit: I’ve been back multiple times. I love the drinks here especially. Nice vibe too
From the moment that we selected the Corner Social to host our sons surprise Birthday party EVERYTHING went wonderfully smooth and memorable! We had about twenty guests and they were all genuinely pleased with the venue, the service and the overall atmosphere.Chloe was my first point of contact for reservations. She was appreciatively professional, attentive to my needs for the party, very warm, impressionable, smart, witty and ever so charming, making me feel valued as a customer. When we arrived she escorted me to our table, while there I met our server for the evening. Her name was Veeta. I do not have the correct spelling and I want to apologize. This young lady was just as dynamic, professional, warm, friendly and spot on also! She provided our party with everything that one could ask for and more.We also met the manager and shared with just how pleased we were and shared slices of the Birthday cake with him, Veeta and Chloe...This place is amazing for socializing and the adjoining guests appeared as though they were enjoying themselves as well. And one more thing a big message of recognition to the DJ!He was a true master of music jams! His delivery was spot on and I found myself swaying to a tune or two and it felt great because I have not danced since having surgery to my back in July 2019. Thank you so much...A final Thank you to the Doorman outside and to the entire team at Corner Social! You are all appreciated and stand as a good blueprint of excellent customer service!Thank you, again...🤗
While it is a nice social setting, and the crowd is very upbeat and friendly, the establishment needs a deep cleaning. The floor around the bar and the floor behind the bar and the actual bar top was dirty all around. The table tops were sticky and this is clearly because theyre not being cleaned with the proper agents. All around and gave the feel of a place that was just wiped down with the wet cloth.
In a lot of ways this is a great place. Hard to beat the location, and the food is solid (everyone liked everything), excellent tap list and outstanding cocktails. Service is OK. Prices are reasonable for the area. WOW ITS LOUD INSIDE. Like club level loud, and it got louder about 15m after we went in when the DJ came on (not that we could stand to be there much more than 45m...Im all for having music in a bar/restaurant, but this was really next level). The DJ was pretty good, but did I mention its unbearably loud? I have been to the first row of concerts at a lower volume. Its doing a lot of things right, but not sure Ill be back.

2022-04-05We waited about 45 minutes at the bar for a table. On this particular Sunday (not sure if this is the norm) the tables were all reserved and we were informed that they hold tables for 15 minutes after calling the party. We were added to the waiting list and eventually a table became available. The food was good (had wings (dry rub) and a Caesar Salad). My recommendation would be to make reservations in advance. It was busy this Sunday and they also had a live DJ, really nice spot in Harlem.

2022-06-04My adult children invited me out for dinner and they chose this location. Decorations are beautiful, the music was great. They even had a DJ. Covid protocol are followed and service was quick and pleasant. Will definitely come back again.

2022-01-18This place is amazing. I am originally from Harlem and came up to NY form Florida where I now live and was so happy to be back to my birth place. My niece told me about this place and knew o would love it 😍 and I did. The music 🎵 the bartenders to the bouncers was good. We spent a good penny that night in there and the Manager or owner not sure who he was, was pleasant by asking us if we were good and just checking on us repeatedly. Our waiter was on point.Bathrooms are clean and the setting due to Covid was a little too close for me but was good because they had covers shields in between tables. Food, OMG 😱 was amazing if your ever in Harlem please go here you will not be disappointed.

2022-06-20Sigh 3 stars is not reflective of the restaurant but of my experience for that dinner.Food was delicious, pretty good white sangria, place clean + beautiful, music good... would definitely go back!Problem was my waiter and the check. He was soooooo slow and absent. Saw him once when we got our waters 15mins after being seated, then to bring the food menu (no drink menu provided), then to take orders, then to bring the food, then to bring a wrong check with 20% gratuity added. Thats it. No water refills, no asking if everything is OK, no asking about drinks, and then a check with extra appetizers and a 20% tip! The waiter at a nearby table was far more helpful and it would be a 5 star review if he was responsible for us. He was the one who brought the right check to us (still with 20% tip) because our waiter did not come back until I put my card on the check.Would definitely go back and sit in a different section, Im sure I can update this review then to a higher rating.

2022-06-18The food was okay. The server is a bit overbearing. He wasn’t listening when we said we didn’t want the appetizer (shrimp not pictured) yet it appeared moments later. While it was good we could have done without it.The penne vodka with shrimp ($10 more for shrimp) had only 4 shrimp. A bit pricey for only 4. Pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce pretty good.Music was great.Covid protocols in place with plastic tables separators.

2021-11-13Angel took excellent care of me and my girlfriends Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. We really loved the vibe here. We ordered drinks at the bar and found out you have to order an app when you order a bottle of prosecco. We got the calamari and it was perfect to snack on for the four of us. The calamari had a light, crispy breading seasoned well with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. I also had the lychee martini and it was delicious. Corner Social requires you to be vaccinated to enter so I really enjoyed my time here feeling a little safer.

2022-06-27The food and drinks here were very good. The brunch menu has pretty good variety. The service was good for the most part, maybe the only criticism is that they were a little slow clearing the table of unused stuff at times but thats minute. The music is very good and sets a good atmosphere. The bathrooms were clean.

2022-04-06I was mid-conversation, drinking an old fashioned with my date when the food appears in record time but not only did the food get to us fast, the food was great! One would assume that flavor would be lost with how quickly it was made, but that was not the case here. Corner social is great for dates or a quick bite before heading over to the Magic Johnson Theater for a movie.- Alex
