This place is the greatest, there is no other store like it on Long Island. They have an amazing selection of healthy grocery items. The deli counter is outstanding they have all these delicious prepared salads made with simple healthy ingredients. They have really good sales too I always find something I need on sale for a good price. It’s my favorite store definitely worth checking out.
Has a great selection of vegan/plant based foods and ingredients. Definitely a place to go if you’re looking for that *one* unique or vegan ingredient you can’t find at the regular grocery store. However they do have a lot of items that are overpriced. These are things/brands that you can find at Target or larger food stores. I also saw a lot of things that I know I could get at Trader Joe’s for a much lower price. The staff was not very friendly at all. The cashier was not pleasant to talk to...she didn’t even speak or ask if I found everything I needed. No “Cornucopia Crew” member offered assistance even when I saw a number of staff on the floor restocking shelves and walking around. The cashier who rang me up, along with another one I saw, was also not wearing a face mask. For a store that boats health and wellness, I was a little taken aback when I saw these two employees not wearing any sort of adequate face covering as required by state authorities. Granted OTHER employees were indeed wearing proper face masks.I did not order anything from the kitchen. Perhaps this is where this establishment receives its 4-5 star ratings. I would come back again only to try the food from the back bar, but otherwise I’m going food shopping elsewhere.
This place is awesome! Great selection, some unique items, great deli, lots of vegan options, friendly staff, very clean, great produce, very reasonable prices, a real gem. We are fortunate to have such a great store to shop at. Im there every week, several times. Anyone who gives it a medium or low rating needs to have their head examined. Thanks Cornucopia !!
Wow, like a mini Whole foods, but better, and locally owned.Ive been shopping at Cornucopia for 20 years and now visit it only occasionally being I moved to Central NY. I watched Cornucopia grow from a small healthfood cafe to a mini supermarket and Im extremely impressed in how well the expansion unfolded. Lots of unique and healthy items that you wont find at Wholefoods or Trader Joes. Its very clean, neat and organized. Prices are average which is good enough for me, however, there are lots of sale items too. The large deli offers a great selection of prepared foods - much of it made with organic ingredients, so of course it will cost more than other delis or even whole foods which barely offers anything organic in the food bars. As someone who ran an organic juice bar in Brooklyn, I know how expensive organic produce and other food items at wholesale prices can be, so you have to price items higher than corporate owned health markets which have huge buying power and are gobbling up the competition. Long Islanders are lucky to have a great healthfood market here in their backyard to shop at while also contributing to the local economy instead of billion dollar corporate. Ok, that being said, it would be great if the store manager would sort out the check out line situation - put some signs up showing where the line starts. Is there one line for all registers or a line for each register? No one seems to know.Lastly, I was glad to see the store very busy at 6pm Monday in January during a non holiday, and theres a good reason - its a great store.
This place is my all time favorite grocery store. They have a great selection of dairy free cheeses and niche products. As far as supplements go they also have a wide variety with an entire fridge case of probiotics. They also have the best smoothies.. I personally love the mint one. I travel from East Northport to go here that shows you how amazingly worth it it is. Love it!
Great place to buy health food products and and fitness supplements. I’m not from the island but I stopped in on my way the Manhattan to Montauk about a week ago and already recommended this place to a few of my co workers. Excellent deli and staff, Cool warm atmosphere, wide variety of gluten free and lactose free food, some guy sweeping the floors even made me laugh. Great store, good vibes. Definitely going to stop in the store again.
Wonderful market. It’s great to support a local grocer. They are always happy help you find everything you may need from supplements to frozen and fresh items. Everything is clean and easy to find. Not to mention there is a place to eat if you decide to eat your food their.
Wow, this place is an experience! High quality food and a huge gluten free selection. Delicious gluten free muffins baked there!! Prices are on par with supermarkets, and many items on sale. Will come here any time I am nearby! Hands down the best natural market I’ve been to on LI!
Love this place, a bit pricey but they have what you need thereAlways a good experience except for 1 time.my vegan daughter ordered the unchicken Waldorf salad in a wrap and they made it with real chicken. She was pretty upset after taking a bite. The deli girl apologized but didn’t offer to make her the correct order.
Well the place is very cool. Organic and healthy food that I always want to stop by every other day. The staff is very friendly and kind which makes a place more loveable. The only reason I don’t give 5-stars is everything is just so expensive I mean very very expensive. We know we are living in a rich town but not everyone is rich in that area lol The same organic milk is 2 dollars cheaper at the stop and shop but I still want to buy it from this place since It’s closer :)
Unlike the lot of other natural markets (with a couple of exceptions) plagued with inept, unfriendly, rude, horrendous, entitled management (and clerks or floor employees) especially Oceanside and West Islip Wild By Nature and Merrick Trader Joes, the management and team are consistently friendly, servicable and professional. Plethora of produce, dairy, tasty fresh eats and specialty grocery, beautiful store
I love this place, BUT was so disappointed when I bought expired expensive organic milk for my baby. I didnt check the date, because I didnt expect it from this place, at home my husband recognized it😒 my advice: check the expiration date, please! Especially when you buy for your kids. Nothing crazy, but its not right from management of this store to keep expired products. Next time I will beware.
I love cornucopia great food and great options for people who eat a healthy and organic life style. I didn’t give them 5 stars because I normally get their smoothies but the last couples of times I’ve gotten it, the product has gone down drastically. I wish they made there smoothies like they used to.
One of the best health food stores around. Since its in the heart of Sayville, the prices are a bit high. In fact, on a lot of their foods and supplements, they charge ABOVE retail price. Their sales are few and far between. However, with that said, I still go here often, and its one of my favorite places to go blow $100 for 3 days worth of food!
I love the Cornucopia Health Food store in Sayville, NY....I have been going to them for decades. BUT there are certain foods I can only eat because of my very limited nutritional needs and they do not/cannot/will not carry them. I would rather give them my business since I believe in supporting our small community stores and shops. Being on WHOLE30, no sugars of any kind including “natural sugars, no grains, no dairy, no artificial additives, no legumes, no pastas, rice, white potatoes, no corn products or peanuts. I would like them to carry the Whole30 approved Tessamae Dressings (creamy and zesty ranches), coconut powder ( Quest) to add to my smoothies to make them creamier, and Mikey’s pizza crusts. please Please carry these products. Thank you.
Great food but customer service needs help. Check out takes forever and I never get what I ask for which is always a bag and a fork. I get the bag but they forget the fork. Always the same girl who does this. I laugh every week when I get back to my car and look in the bag and NO FORK. Pay attention ladies!
While many many items are quite delicious here, Ill just be mentioning the Tempeh Tuna Salad from the deli dept. I am a vegetarian and my other half is a carnivore. I brought home the Tempeh Tuna Salad, scooped some onto a Triscuit and said Here, try this. Its a seafood-type salad. He had several bites (him asking for more in itself was encouraging) and he finally said Tastes like tuna! And I said YES! ... then took a bite myself (signaling to him that it was a cruelty-free food and not actual tuna). So the carnivores and vegetarians agree: This dish is quite satisfying! I ended up buying a half pound of it along with a Hummus Wrap and I had them add a bit of the Tempeh Tuna to my wrap. SO GOOD. Whether youre looking for a more cruelty-free option to tuna or just something a little different, DO try Cornucopia! The store is clean, staff is super helpful and the variety of deli items (cruelty-free, gluten-free, dairy-free or just regular ol organic meats) is quite impressive. Full-on grocery store as well! WHATS NOT TO LOVE!??!?
Ate out for the first time since quarantined. I have MS and did not feel safe about my experience, I wish I said something. Staff was too relaxed. I ordered a sandwich and the woman who made it had a sad cotton mask on hanging below her nose. Employees were close together, while one pulled down their mask to talk on the company’s phone on top of other employees making deli food. The woman at the register had on a face shield without a mask. I will not be returning anytime soon and I hope I didn’t catch Covid19 from this experience. Whoever is in charge should be better at protecting their shoppers and their staff. We know people that have died in their 20s and 30s from Covid19. Young people are still at risk.
I was happy here as a customer, until my lunch was very wrong I called and complained was told it will be replaced. I decided to not collect and continue paying. I was instead told that my veggie burger will be double the price($9.99 instead of $4.99) to throw sprouts, a tomato slice and red onion ontop. As I heard one worker call me a douchebag and another call me an a**hole, all because my food was wrong last visit. Im a deli worKer and thats despicable, your food is free when its wrong, the customer is always right unless your at cornucopia, in which case they drive you away for telling them of their mistake.
Eat the food. Eat all the food. Just dont drink the wheatgrass. Just kidding, drink the wheatgrass but probably have a chaser nearby. And also maybe a bucket. Folks are friendly here. Dare I say flirty, which is fun for the kids. Great supplements, amazing juice and smoothie bar, fantastic deli with superb gluten free foods for those of us that end up in the ER after eating gluten. Its true, man, so stop judging my diet choices! If you dont want to be judged by your diet (unless youre a super meat-eater; maybe dont go yelling that around this joint) and want an amazing selection of everything, go to Cornucopia. Another note, theres only one bathroom for the customers, so dont go clogging things up in there.

2022-07-09Terrific healthy/organic grocery store. Do not miss out on there potato salad and fresh juices. I also love the tofu breakfast sandwich - these are all freshly made daily at the counter in the back. Extensive collection of healthier options, from black sesame milk to all your gluten-dairy-free-free needs but extensive options. The staff is absolutely outstanding. Not a cheap grocery experience but largely most specialty items. They not have microgreens, and thats my only gripe.

2019-12-24I absolutely love this place. As a health food junkie you cannot find a better spot. Today I had the black bean wrap which was absolutely wonderful. However for the last 3 days Ive been hooked on the spicy tofu and broccoli. Its probably the best tofu Ive ever had.

2018-08-27I visited Cornucopia for the first time recently after dropping someone off at the Fire Island Ferry.. What a wonderful health food store this is!! I have no complaints about the staff, who continually checked in with me to make sure I was finding what I needed and always had a helpful attitude and a bright smile.. Their selection of products is clearly expertly curated and this establishment definitely takes the quality of their goods very serious.. I found alternatives to some of the items that I regularly purchase, which after a little research proved to be superior to my usual go-to choices.. There’s a great selection of bottled drinks and elixirs, including some impressive local kombuchas.. Their produce seemed almost entirely organic, very fresh and nicely varied.. Prices were average, although there were many things on sale and I did find some good deals.. But my favorite part about Cornucopia Health Foods was the cafe at the back of the store!! They offered a large selection of prepared food, some made to order, treats, smoothies and fresh juices.. And to top it all off, they’re literally 5 minutes south of Sunrise Highway (27)!! If you’re in Saville, or just passing through, and you’re looking for something healthy, stop in at Cornucopia.. A great little old fashioned health food store that actually offers an alternative to the big prices and bigger footprint of the nearby Whole Foods!!

2019-04-16Though I dont venture out here often, whenever I am in the Sayville area I always stop by Cornucopia. They have a large selection of pre-packaged vegan food and hot food/deli type foods that you can purchase from the counter ready to eat there, as there are tables near the front, or to go. My favorite things to get from the counter are the Deli Lama Burger and the Tempeh Tuna Salad. While their prices tend to be higher (obviously since they are a small, specialty store) than say Stop & Shop, I do occasionally find some things on better sale at Cornucopia. I also really appreciate their vast vegan cheese and meatless selections! Definitely a place worth checking out.

2021-12-13It is a sad day that I have to write this review. I have been a customer here for over 10years. But i fervently value my freedom and can no longer support establishments that are adhering to frivolous rules. If you are like me in boycotting businesses that do not support medical freedom and choice, then I would recommend you shop elsewhere.

2022-01-18Does not respond to vendor requests, I have a full vegan food line that fits perfect into their store and we’re doing $5,000 a week in each of the Whole Foods but the owner would not give me the time of day.
