Amazing breakfast and superb service. Its a small and interestingly decorated spot. I had the Red Flannel Hash which came with potatoes, beets, onions, bacon, scallions & heavy cream, topped with 2 eggs & toast and my girlfriend had one of the specials of the day which was 2 slices of French toast with sweet ricotta cheese and strawberries in between the slices and on top. Both of the dishes were fantastic and our waiter was very friendly and also gave us great recommendations on stuff to try with our dishes. The price for both dishes, 2 cups of coffee, and 2 cups of OJ went for around $45. Which I think it was well worth it
Service is always excellent and personable. The food is always delicious and well presented. Honestly, this is my favorite breakfast spot on Long Island. Everyone should come here and give it a shot. The best part is Sunday, as their specials are always excellent as well. Theres a lot of cooking talent paired with an extremely friendly atmosphere. I cant recommend this place enough.
Breakfast was ok. Bacon was very thick but they cooked it to long and dried it out. The eggs were good. The pancakes were ok. I did not like there ice coffee . Once I drank it my stomach started bothering me which in turn did not let me finish my food. They have a variety of different items on there menu you dont find in many places. You can get oat or soy milk, they have sugar free syrups for the coffee. The place is very small so you could run into a wait if you go at a busy time. Only 7 small tables inside.
My son went there before and loved it. We called a little earlier and were told to show up in an hour, which we did (my son knew they didn’t do reservation). When we showed up the host told us that the kitchen was close in a pretty rude manner. We said that we called prior and I showed him the call on my phone. Then he turned to one guy in the kitchen that apparently answered and he told my us that he never said that. Lack of language or honesty there, miscommunication or not, it deserves a bad review.
Wife and I decided to drop by my nephew and his wonderful family in Long Island for the weekend. We woke up early on a drab and cold Sunday morning, we got hungry, looked up a place to eat breakfast here in Yelp and decided to pay Cornucopia Noshery Inc a visit. It was THE BEST decision we made! Even though Kevin (our server) wore a mask, I can right away noticed he greeted us with a warm smile, he was very amiable, jovial, funny and knowledgeable about the menu/specials. Nick and Erica are very nice as well. Amazing crew!My wife ordered The Red Flannel Hash and I went for the Brisket Hash (recommended by Kevin).OH WOW! Kudos to the Chef! The portions are huge! These dishes are immersed in such savory flavors as to make my taste buds dance with delight! My Brisket was so tender and juicy, my wifes meal was so tasty! Our bill came inside an old Avengers DVD case... its brilliant! LOLAll in all, if I were to live in the area, this will be my go to for everyday breakfast and also to see Kevin again!
I will experience 50 restaraunts this year throughout Nassau, Suffolk and New York City. Number 12 is quaint establishment with curb appeal and a Im on vacation feel. The ecclectic unorthodox menu will lure you in. The customer service is welcoming as well as attentive. I had the one of the specials and though it wasnt special this eatery is a keeper that didnt dissapoint. I will definitely be back.
Great little breakfast spot. Tough to get seated quickly in the winter due to lack of outdoor seating (which I would be less if an issue in the spring/summer). Food was delicious and the staff was polite and helpful. The decorations are eclectic, and we got our bill in an old DVD case.
Had the most wonderful time here for breakfast on Christmas Eve. Their selection of mimosas was impressive; I enjoyed the passion fruit while my friend enjoyed the apple cider mimosa. Their specials looked adventurous so I had some vegan tacos and my bud ordered their stuffed french toast. Highly recommend this cozy little place if youre looking for a yummy unique breakfast spot!
The first time I came here I fell in love with this place. Its such a quaint small and unique place. I have brought many friends back for breakfast because its that great. Also their specials change all the time and theyre always so good that I love coming back and seeing whats new. The people there are also very kind! I definitely recommend coming here, you wont regret it!
Had breakfast here with friends a week or so ago. Greeted warmly at the door by the host. Food and service were excellent. Portions are generous and the menu is eclectic with interesting names for the dishes and most importantly always changing. Wonderful Capuccino. The environment is small and not loud. The owner spoke with us as we left and it was a pleasure to speak with him. Try the Gelato!
Very interesting place! Decor was great, and staff was very attentive. Menu is pretty limited and the options definitely are not for all, but the oatmeal cranberry pancakes I had were quite good. While I favor Brownstones over this place (better food options, even though theyve been closed for some time) I still enjoyed this place. Just a few side notes, prices were a bit high, seating is limited, and its cash only.
I really loved this place, great service from host, attentive and makes sure everyone is having a good day. We went on a Sunday for breakfast and it was a party of 8, its hard to accommodate that much, but after him trying his best because the size of venue, 45 minutes later we got a table. It was so worth the wait. Food was amazing, all fresh food and just delightful, this is a must visit, everything on menu is delicious.
Excellent. Great alternative to area diners. Omlets are excellent, home fries are not traditional but they are by far better. Regular pancakes lacked flavor but they do have special pancakes which may be better. Mamosas are a tasty treat! Toast was fresh and delicious. Will definitely go here again. Cash only tho!
First of all, this place is super tiny. You feel like you are stepping into a tiny deli in Queens that they squeezed a few tables into and tried to call a restaurant. Its so bad that the staff was constantly sending people outside, telling them that it was a fire hazard for them to wait to be seated inside the establishment.Second, the decor is very dark. Skeleton tablecloths, earie masks on the wall. A sign that says be nice or leave. All very odd choices, but I understand some people might be into this, so okay. The prices do not reflect the quality of food or the experience. Most of the options seem to be overpriced. My food was okay tasting. I was not disgusted, but didnt have any desire to finish my plate. Honestly, I would have preferred Ihop. They have a drink called an Apple Bomb for $4. Its literally just a small round bottle of apple juice. Nothing special, not worth the cost. The last thing that concerned myself and my friends is that they charge you a fee for paying with a card rather than cash. This has been deemed illegal by the supreme court, but we just wanted to get out of the place at that point, so we let it go. Overall, it was not a good experience and we will not be returning.
I wanted this place to be good, almost could be.The Good:-Creative takes on breakfast instead of the tired old diner fare.-good coffee-Nice people- nice small spaceThe Bad:-pancakes were visibly burned in spots yet still served. Strangely, with just a handful of tables, they were mostly cold by the time they reached our table.- French toast also burned black on edges and one side. Clearly not fans of G. Ramsey standards as food that is clearly burned does not seem to be an issue to the cook or waitress dropping it off.
Waitress was friendly. Ended up spending 50$ on 2 breakfast entrees and coffee. Overpriced. You are charged an extra 4% for using a credit card. The food is prepped fresh using all store bought ingredients. Watchinf the cooks prep through the window you can see that every ingredient comes out of a jar. Buttery blend for butter. Not even real butter used. Canned fruits. Food was ok tasting but would not return for artificial ingredients. Also tiny piece of hair in my french toast. A turn off, but i was almost done eating by the time it was found.
Cornucopia’s Noshery is my favorite breakfast spot on Long Island! The portions are huge and you get plenty of food for your money. The employees are also incredibly kind and treat their regulars as friends. In addition to their permanent menu, Cornucopia’s Noshery has a constantly-changing specials menu (consisting of breakfast foods Monday-Saturday and mostly lunch foods on Sundays) filled with incredible concoctions. Some of my favorites have included Elvis Waffles (peanut butter, bacon, and bananas sandwiches between two chocolate chip waffles) and croissant French toast topped with Nutella and strawberry slices. If you want something more savory, my go-to dish is the Red Flannel Hash, made with potatoes and beets. The iced “crack” coffee tops off every meal. The decor is eclectic and fun, and many of the pieces you see hanging in the small but beautiful restaurant are for sale! I recommend Cornucopia’s Noshery to ALL locals and tourists!
Great cozy place with an eclectic menu and interesting decor. The menu was so good that it was hard to choose. I ended up getting the omlette special (with chorizo, peppers and havarti cheese) and my wife got the Scrabke Shambles and both were great. Will certainly go back to try out other things. The folks are the nicest as well - great to find such a great combination of food, ambience and people!
The food is out of this world. Great menu and very original. They have a few drinks like Apple cider, mimosas, coffee, a few more beverages. And dessert is the best part. They hve homemade gelato. It cant get better then that. I love this place because of the funky decorations. They take only cash.
I eat at Cornucopia at least twice a month. I had to post this bc of the absurd 1 star post sitting currently at the top of the google search. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, and everyone is super cool, laid back, and fun to dine with. I have never gotten a meal I didnt LOVE. Being the GM of a large fast casual dining restaurant myself I really appreciate the lengths this small bistro style restaurant goes to make sure our meals and experiences are always perfect. Thank you.
This place is nothing short of amazing. Go there immediately and order whatever they tell you to get.We had the chorizo hash, an omelet that had beets in it (OMG so good!), the croque madame and the breakfast poutine (gravy was probably the most delicious gravy ever made). They don’t have a liquor license but the mimosas were good and the cold brew was on point.
They should get someone else to answer the phones because both times I called yesterday and a time last year it was the same woman saying “its always busy here, everyday changes, dont know what to tell you, or its always peak time no reservations” perhaps someone else could be more helpful and personable.
Exemplary food and quick service. Cornucopias is a small eatery tucked into mainstreet Amityville, but its diminutive size is a front for big flavors and portions. Amongst my party in the several times Ive been weve run a full gambit from eggs and pancakes to wraps and specials. Everything has been more than satisfactory and filling. Plus the food is out quick and the coffee is hot, making for a smooth morning wake up after a groggy night out. Place is always packed out, but speed of service assures no more than a 10-15 minute wait on most days.
I have no idea what the food would be like in this place..its a small restaurant some what like a little bistro. those types of restaurants have always been appealing to me. Yesterday I walked slightly a head of my sister and went in and was asked if they could help me. I said I am just looking simply because I was waiting for my sister to arrive. I went to walk to the bathroom and the gentlemen behind the counter came running after me. He asked me what I was doing and I said just using the bathroom, he said no your not. Are you having lunch here? I was so taken aback by the rudeness of this gentlemen that I said no he said leave. All of this took place loudly in front of others that were dining. I was really humiliated. I do not know if the person was the owner, a manager or just an employee, shame on him no matter who he was. You just do not treat customer this way. As I was leaving the store, I handed him back a card I took and said we were planning on eatting here, I was waiting for my sister, however after the way I was treated I would never eat here. He rudely replied...good thats fine. As I stated this type of homey restaurant has always appealed to me, however treatment of a customer is always very important.
Their service sucked. We asked for tavle.of 3 with kid. Waited around. Saw people being seated before us and then when we told them we will be 5 people and well wait no problem. Just wanted to inform there are more of us. They told us they have no room for us and wont seat us. Super rude. Not sure if they were racist
Cornupcopia will not disappoint! From the Newsday regarded pancakes, to her awesome brunch menu the food is as delicious as comforting! Just today I had the most amazing blackened shrimp over salad- it was sickly delicious! The atmosphere cannot be beat- Erica and her staff are welcoming- its that neighborhood spot you go to once and instantly fit in and want to go again!
Really Really Great Food...not many tables,so get there early.it is Definitely worth the wait ..went there with two other friends,we each got our own food then ordered pancakes for the middle.everything was excellent.staff was great.she was on point every minute we where there.did not have to ask for anything.dont get mad if you have to wait I told ya get there early or a weekday

2021-12-28Cornucopia has become a brunch favorite! Really nice meals, big portions. I get the breakfast sampler of eggs, bacon, homefries, and either French toast, pancakes or waffles. Another favorite is the Croque Madame which we cant seem to find anywhere else. Plus they always have some funky specials. Were sure to be back soon

Extremely polite and very helpful with menu choices, has a great sense of humor, I thank you! The food is beyond delicious and the ice cream is a must! Don’t delay your visit! I recommend this establishment 💯 percent.

2020-12-20Right now, this place is one of my all time favorite brunch places on the island. I cannot recommend this place enough. They have something for everyone. Let me tell you the story,We walk in. This place is small. Three workers including everybody. We get a huge warm welcome. They give us the special list right away. Their coffee is fantastic. They have vegan options. Definitely recommending to all family and friends and coming back again soon.

2021-06-13Outdoor seating area is charming and pleasant, and the staff is very friendly. Its a small menu, but they have specials and my waffle was fresh and tasty. The peach Bellini is on the strong side for me, but perfect for regular Sunday brunchers.

2020-09-27Nice breakfast spot!A friend and I stopped here for breakfast on our way out East upon the recommendation of my mother. She suggested I go for the vibe (described it as NOLA-esque and Voodoo), but also said that the food was even better than the vibe.Due to Covid, we didn’t get much of a chance to take the indoor surroundings in (but looked cool from the 30 seconds we spent inside!), but our dining experience was great even without the ambiance we went for. The outdoor dining area is on a little brick pavilion in a town square which was very charming. The breakfast menu was pretty mainstream, and the specials were super fun! I got a bacon omelette which was like eating bacon with some eggs (a dream come true!!!). My friend got a Monte Cristo croissant sandwich, which she really enjoyed. Would absolutely recommend going for breakfast!Customer service was exceptional. Our table was visited by our waitress, the manager and the cook—all of whom were friendly and helpful. The manager took time to make small talk and laugh a bit with us.Looking forward to more excuses to visit again for lunch, dinner and coffee!

2021-11-22My boyfriend and I love coming here for breakfast. Staff is always friendly and they always have great specials. The only reason why I didnt give them 5 stars is because I wish it were just a bit more spacious. Definitely worth checking out.
