I like ACE Hardware. Very reliable. All stores have a similar vibe. The associates who work at Ace are genuinely happy. They are also knowledgeable about their products and beyond helpful. Red vests help identify who is an employee...the jingle Ace is the place, you neighborhood hardware store means what it says...very down home and neighborly.
Today I was at Ace Hardware. When I came through the door I did not realize there was a puddle of water. It was raining heavily outside and the doors were propped open. I slipped and had a hard fall. An employee and customer asked me if I was okay and due to the embarrassment and adrenaline rush I said yes. I went into the bathroom to clean myself up. My whole right side and my back was wet and hurting. An employee came up to me at checkout and said that hed be willing to do an accident report, but at the time I was thinking that they may get in trouble because the door should have been closed due to the storm so I declined. I have a bad habit of never looking out for myself luckily I am a military veteran so I can go to the VA hospital especially since now I am in pain. Being a federal inspector in a different field I still believe even in the private sector it should be standard practice for any store for that matter to complete an incident or accident report no matter what. Customers should not be put in a position due to the embarrassment or otherwise to choose to protect the store and help the customer if needed. So Im officially done with Ace Hardware and specifically this location what if it had been an elderly person - it could have lead to something fatal.
VERY RUDE on phone. I was about to pay for an item online, since their website said they had it available for pickup, but thought I should call first and make sure. The man who answered the phone just said they didnt have it, but I dont even think he looked it up before he said this. And i was about to ask if he knew whether another location had it, but HE HUNG UP ON ME. I will NOT be going there anymore. Ill be going back to my trusty home depot where people are friendly and helpful.
Its 11:45 a.m. on a spring Saturday morning. I walk in the store and I am among 10 or 15 customers actively hunting for somebody on the sales floor. There is one person at the register and the manager is seated at his computer in the office.I completely refuse to fight with you guys to hand you my money. So, when youre wondering why that Big Red Basket is upside down on top of the pile of bird seed that you have not yet sold from last weeks special, Id like you to know that I walked out of your store in frustration. Home Depot sells the suet for like what you guys buy it for so what the hell Ill go over that way. That theres called a lost sale boys... These sort of things tend to add up and influence whats called the bottom line.Saturday has to be the biggest time of the week for a hardware store and you dont have people in the middle of the floor wearing red vest everywhere?As your business is still new, and people are developing an idea of what your store is about, youre going to give them the impression that youre understaffed? From my perspective, I think you didnt have the opening you hoped for/planned on... Good luck! Pay attention to Staffing pay attention to customer experience.
Went today to buy nails for my wood fence.I asked a staff looks like manager or supervisor for help to get me right screws, he very rudely pointed finger to the section of the screws and told me to help myself.i told him that if I need a help thats why I asked you, and he just walked away, again I waited for 10.miniults and another guy helped me to get the screws.Will not go back.Home depot staff is much better.
Was happy when they opened since it’s so close by, but customer service is just awful. Most unknowledgeable and downright clueless staff personnel I’ve ever experienced. Missing some key inventory like in ground sprinkler parts. Costello’s in deer park on the other hand has great staff and even though it’s a quarter the size seems to have more of the right stuff.
I think this place should have train the staff a little more for not to be rude to the customers ,I have a set of star sockets , bought them I while ago and they striped out on the tool s case says clearly lifetime warranty , went to the store trying to find a replacement for it and both the floor person and manager were so rude they were trying to get me to buy a whole new set and more spensive I ask him to replace only the ones that were striped out he told he couldnt do that for me because I did not have a receipt , come on , bouth the set around 4 years ago how am I gonna remember where did I put that receipt at last the managers answer was to insult me saying i had taken the tools out the garabage somewhere and walked away PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE in lifetime warranty From Ace Hardware store is jut a bunch of lies

2022-03-20Sooo helpful and helps me save. I bought a power driver and a drill set but drill set didn’t fit. I went back and said I have this and I have that and doesn’t fit. The person found me a correct drill set to use and refunded my old drill set even though I didn’t have a receipt (am a member). He just searched my phone number. I only had to pay $2 more. What a service

2021-12-24I went to Ace in search of something that would help me solve my office chair from sinking to the floor. Walter at the counter was more than helpful! He provided over the top customer service! I will be going back and definitely recommend!

2021-09-15Not a huge selection of stuff but for the size of the store its expected. The employees are friendly and helped me find what I was looking for.They offer military discount which is always appreciated. If they had a bigger location Im sure theyd offer more.Definitely like the wall of Yetti which offers exactly that. They also make keys a lot faster then lowes and home depot hands down.

2021-07-25Very helpful!! They always come out to put the heavy stuff in the car . They explain and try to suggest based on your need.... Also we got the paint from them for our swings.. it was so interesting how they made paint from the machine and the way they had a an advanced machine that mixed it....truly awesome

2020-12-06The staff here are always helpful and friendly. I can not same the same for the big box stores.The products may be a just little bit more expensive than big box stores but the difference is not anything significant.Definitely a place for the homeowner who is handy. They have the right products at the right prices with the most important aspect, people with the knowledge.

2021-11-03Costello’s has been nothing but impeccable. I’ve ordered twice from them for large and expensive items. Delivery was prompt and communication has been exceptional. I highly recommend them to everyone in the local area.

2020-12-08Poor customer service. Long Wait time. I went to the store after receiving an email that my curbside pick-up order was ready. I called the number that was provided in the email and told the person that Im outside the store for my curbside pick-up. I was told that someone will be right out. After waiting a while in the car I went inside the store. I had to wait in the cash register line and once I got to the cashier he told me (and another customer) that there are only 3 people working and they are very busy. He then called one of the 3 people who brought my order from the back of the store. They need to work on improving their curbside pick-up.

2021-02-03I have been to this Ace several times. Unfortunately, I had a very poor experience recently. Typically the employees are kind and helpful but that was not my experience this time which is why I give 3 stars because they most certainly can do a stand up job but it is not consistent.I went to Ace to get ice melt. It was all outside so I asked how much it was. They rang me up for 3, 40 pound bags at the cost of 26.99 EACH. I paid and went outside but something didnt seem right at all, I felt ripped off. I went back and asked them to recheck the price because the price at Lowes is below $9 each.The price that had been on the sticker on their register was in fact NOT correct. They apparently had been ringing everyone up wrong and over charging. I asked for my money back which they rerang the products but took my $15 in coupons away. I said that I want my rewards and offers applied to this offer in which he repeatedly replied he cant and that I cant double coupon. Double coupon? I had used my 15 dollars of coupons to purchase the 3 ice melts that they WAY overcharged me for and when I brought up their mistake they took my coupons away even though I bought an additional 4th bag the second go around because I wanted to ensure the coupons remained. I suggested I can just take another bag if ice melt if thats easier and he told me he cant give me a free bag. After a fuss he ended up giving back 10 of the 15. Not nice, not professional. I am already surprised that they are charging double the price of of the other local stores like Lowes and Home depot but since I didnt want to drive far with the roads being bad I was willing to pay.
