Positive: The hotel location was a big plus. There were many restaurants in and around the hotel location. Negative: The breakfast, the water, and no housekeeping. The housekeeping suspension should be informed to us before the booking, not after we reach the hotel with our luggage.
Positive: Staff friendly and available fruit & coffee/tea all day. Negative: The 1st morning the next room woke me up at 5:30am, 4:30 my time zone. Talked loud on the phone until 7am. That evening the occupant of the room above me walked very heavily until after 11pm. The noise easily travels between rooms and floors.
For the price, its a really great place to stay. Free continental breakfast foods in the lobby, nice selection of vending items, and the front desk staff was very friendly. Everything in the room is comfortable and clean too. Air conditioning/heat worked well. The room-cleaning staff could be nicer, but everyone has their days. All in all, Id definitely recommend staying here if you need to budget but would like a certain standard of comfort.
Positive: Great rooms. Pleasant, professional and friendly staff at all levels. Rooms and the hotel in general was clean, attractive and efficient. Breakfast better than most other hotels. Price was very good; looking to stay at this chain whenever and wherever pos Negative: No!
Hotel room and hall waaay to warm. I noticed other guests opened window in hallway. Could smell cigarette smoke at 2nd floor by elevator. Room was either way to hot or cold. Staff at front desk butchered my last name until I called her out which she politely apologized.
Positive: We enjoyed our overnight stay. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. A continental breakfast was available with quality choices. We did not use the fitness center or swimming pool during our overnight stay Negative: No.
Maybe I just got a bad room because the other reviews make the place sound lovely, but I was disappointed. First, the front desk staff member who checked me in was very friendly and kind and checking in was easy.My room was in an odd secondary building on the second floor. There was no elevator - no biggie but if youre traveling with a lot of luggage it could be a pain. The place seemed to really need an update. My door had obviously been broken into at some point, and all of the furniture and walls were scratched and mis-matched. I was really looking forward to a nice shower after flying all day and the shower did not work - I could only get it halfway-on so it was filling the tub while I stood in it. The room was set to 60 degrees and freezing, but turning it up to 65 just made it sweltering. Closet doors were hanging off their tracks. Overall just needed some sprucing up/maintenance.
Really warm+friendly+helpful front desk. I had a really wonderful+cozy stay. The amenities are great, get everything you need. They particularly are doing a great job in the pandemic, even though there was no stay over service, you can basically get everything by simply asking the front desk. The hotel is really close to Wegmans, so even though you cannot get various breakfast, it is super easy to get what you want nearby. The hotel is also by the entry of Pittsford from which you can have nice lunch and dinner.
Pretty good value for the cost. The place looks like motel from the outside but the rooms are huge, clean, and have everything you could possibly need (including the fridge, which I always appreciate). Friendly reception. I also liked that the items for purchase in the room are VERY reasonably priced. Another pleasant surprise was having 24/7 access to water/coffee/tea/fruits/etc.
This hotel is not luxurious but it was very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Due to Covid, breakfast had tobe grab and go. This is where themicrowave and fridge in the roomwas especially appreciated. My only issue with the breakfast wasthat none of the breakfastsandwiches were vegetarian. There was yogurt available.Snacks and coffee and tea wereavailable 24/7.If I found myself inRochester, NY again I wouldmost certainly return.
Positive: Quality of cleanliness of room except shower. Rooms easy access. Negative: Low quality old, stale, factory packaged, cheap, small, unhealthy breakfast items. Old over-ripened fruit. No warning from front desk about room(card) key failure if put in wallet or purse in proximately of credit cards chips deactivating card key,no pool
Good points: the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.Bad points: the woman at reception when we checked in wasnt wearing a mask;the annex building with the room we were assigned to has NO LOCK to the exterior, just swinging doors open to anyone, and as two women we felt EXTREMELY vulnerable and unsafe and we are not typically worriers about our safety... Our door was across from said swinging unlocked doors;the quality of the towels was the cheapest I have ever seen -- rough and thin and see through; It cost $2.00 for a small bottle of water--you could give out two bottles for free and then charge--just seemed so incredibly stingy; and the hot buffet breakfast that was advertised was not a breakfast, it was sweet muffins or cereal from a dispenser, nothing that resembled the hot buffet that made me pick this place over the competition. You could warm up your muffin in a microwave but hot buffet breakfast suggested more than sweet cereal and sweet muffins. We went to Wegmans for something good to eat.Lastly, I was told at check in that there would be a $10 charge for incidentals, but NOT that a week later its still on there, and I never got a receipt by email as promised. The receipt is there when I go on PriceLine, but never was sent to me.We travel a lot, on a budget and this really took the cake for a bad experience, except for the cleanliness.
Huge kudos to the team at Country Inn and Suites in Pittsford—and, an especially big shout out to Mark Lodar the night manager—for creating a caring home away from home environment. For the price, it is the best hotel value I have ever experienced in 40+ years of travel. The room was meticulously clean and well appointed. They have adapted nicely to COVID with a simple but very functional and filling breakfast plan, and a good housekeeping protocol. However, the exceptional value is with the team. Due to a family emergency, I needed to be in the area for almost two weeks. Mark worked a miracle to get me a room for my full stay, versus having to change hotels every few nights. His compassion and caring created a stable place for me to stay, so I could be there for my family during a difficult time. Words fail to express the depth of my gratitude to Mark, and the whole team at Country Inn and Suites. This location has my highest recommendation and gratitude!
Positive: The location was great safe, cute little town or village. Close to everything about a 15 minute drive to Lake Ontario. Beautiful area. Negative: Our room had a musty mildewy smell coming from the AC. It was so noticable that even the maid went down to the front desk to let them know yet nothing was about it had to sleep with window open.
Super courteous staff. I cant express how accommodating and generous they were. Also, its not common to see a hotel that offers the amenities of breakfast to the guests at times other than a three-hour morning block--its like other hotels are afraid that if a guest takes a juice at 7 pm it will break the bank. But as a result of Covid and the grab and go breakfast, this Radisson had fruit and milk, etc., available in the evening, and was concerned more with the the guests comfort than the company bottom line, and I appreciated that very much.
A previous review mentioned that there is no lock on the newer building across the parking lot from the primary hotel & the hotel responded mentioning that it was fixed. This is not true. We stayed on 10/23 and the door was still unlocked and did not require a room key to enter the building. This is very unsafe, especially when there is no lobby/attendant like the main hotel has. Felt like we weren’t even apart of the hotel, as we had to walk across the lot for breakfast/to speak to anyone. Wouldn’t recommend.
Our family stayed here this past weekend for a long weekend while our house was listed for sale and private showings were occurring on our home. We are SO appreciative for the flexibility that was given to us with an early check in and a late check out, a TREMENDOUS help when navigating being out of our home for a few days in the midst of a pandemic, with young kids in tow. Our suite was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The hotel location was convenient to many take out options for meals, and grab and go breakfast options onsite at the hotel were very much appreciated as well. We also appreciated our room placement in the separate building where we were (seemingly) distanced from any other guests, as we encountered nobody else in the hallways during our stay. Thank you so much!
The room was really nice and had a huge sitting room. Very spacious! Everything was very clean. Bed was a bit firm for my taste, but most are. It had a small fridge and microwave, which was awesome. No shortage of hot water for the showers either...you can make it wicked hot if you want! The morning breakfast was pretty decent also. Service was really great and the staff was really nice. We did have a fire alarm evacuation due to a guest catching a commercial toaster on fire, but it was handled very well and efficiently (didnt even need the morning wake up call due to this lol). I would stay here again.
I would give it 0 stars if that were an option. Room #1- Several ants on headboard and under pillow. Room #2- dirty hand towel, remote crusty and dirty, door and dressers FILTHY. We checked out , the front desk said they’d give me a refund but when Expedia called and talked to the manager a few hours later they refused to give us a refund saying we “ didn’t like” the first room and stayed for an hour in the second one and used the beds and the shower which WE DID NOT! They should be ashamed for how disgusting that room was. STAY AWAY!
Its not the most glorious hotel, but they do a solid breakfast, the rooms are clean, and the staff are fantastic! My moms disabled and fragile, and the *night* manager went out of his way to find her a shower chair and easy-clamp shower rails. After midnight. Theyve continued to go out of their way to help. Looking for an easy trip? These folkll make it easy!
Room was clean but dull. Slightly dated. The front door opened and closed hard because of rubbing on carpet. Bathroom was cramped. The refrigerator is bigger than most. Exercise room is not 24 hours. Breakfast was free, and had typical hot and cold selections. Dining area was small.Convenient to Nazareth College, with a Wegmans and Cheesecake Factory very close. On a subsequent visit I stayed in room 414. This room is in separate building, named The Lodge. The room was very modern and clean. Note, if accessibility is an issue, this room is on the second floor. There is only one staircase and there is no elevator.
I stayed here for a wedding and arrived in the middle of the night, but switched hotels after the first night because of the poor quality and experience. The room was not clean. The floor had not been vacuumed and had a clump of hair and other random stuff. The bathroom was also not clean: There was a hair on the toilet, there was some stuff in the toilet, on the counter, and on the ceiling, and the shower tub had holes of rust. In addition, it appeared that there was no sheet on the bed, though the sheets and towels did appear clean (hopefully). When I brought this to the attention of the front desk manager, he was rude and inconsiderate. He asked for pictures, but he refused to visit the room to see first-hand. He claimed that he was being generous by not charging me for subsequent nights when I would not be staying there.I was told I would be contacted by the General Manager, and I sent them a summary of the problems, but they never called me back.In addition, even if it had been clean, the room and especially the bathroom were very small and none of it looked like the pictures on the website or in the e-mails I received prior to my stay. I was charged $199 for this room. I switched to the Strathallan Hotel down the street, which charges $219 for a first-class experience -- and a clean room.
Its a nicely remodeled room and everything is very clean. My only complaint would be the elevator is in a awkward spot and there a door soon as you get off so its difficult to maneuver the luggage cart. Washing machine and dryer is brand new the breakfast are looks great!
Exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was very good, staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and well kept. Beds were comfortable. My only gripe is how difficult it is to get out of the parking lot as this is very close to a traffic light, but thats nothing the hotel had any control over.
Not a bad hotel, but there were a few things that made the stay less than enjoyable:- floors were not particularly clean (stuff on carpet and on tile in bathroom).- bathroom sink drain was clogged and barely drained (how does this get overlooked in cleaning?).- grabbed a frittata for breakfast which was not even warm (literally, it was cold). Ill pass on the food poisoning.
Had a nice stay. Their Tesla destination chargers worked perfectly. Walls are a bit thin and you could hear people above you walking around...but that didnt bother us as it eventually stopped (assuming people above went to sleep). Their breakfast is great , especially since its free with the stay. Will be using them again in the future.
Great service, the room was clean and pleasant. I really like the fire pit outside. Plenty of parking for our large moving truck. Breakfast was okay, but not great. The oatmeal was cold and the bacon quite greasy. Overall we had a great experience and wed stay there again.
Nice sized room, clean, best room for the price in the area in my opinion. The young lady working the front desk when we checked in was nice and pleasant. Got a single king and was surprised to find a huge sitting room separate from the actual bedroom. Bed was a little firm for the wife, but I didnt mind it. Pillows are funky, more square shapped than traditional rectangles but two stack and squish nicely. Bathroom was ok sized and typically appointed for the price range. Room comes with a pay for snack bar...water bottles, candy, etc. Small microwave and a fridge hidden in the cabinets. This hotel features an outdoor firepit outside the main entrance, and a small breakfast area. Breakfast includes the usual assortment of food items, quality is typical for hotels at this level/price range. Only thing to really complain about is the AC unit, which seems to either be off all together or walk in freezer cold, it seems to have issues keeping the room at a decent temperature regardless of what temperature you actually set the unit to. I would absolutely recommend and will be using again when we are in the area.
I have stayed in roughly 500 hotel rooms traveling for business. I also NEVER write reviews, but Michael the GM of this hotel was one of the nicest guys ever. They got me into my room way before checkout time, and they let me stay late since I had an afternoon flight out. Usually housekeeping and Managers are trying to throw you out the door at 11am, Michael treated me like a friend and was beyond accommodating. Ive stayed EVERYWHERE and would choose the staff at this hotel any day over some stuffy resort. Also the room was very modern and comfortable. AMAZING experience. Thanks guys!
Fairly quiet in the room we stayed in (a little occasional road noise), comfy mattress, clean, AC worked. The person working three front desk was exceptional and made us feel welcomed - even let us know we could have some late night cereal from their breakfast bar if we were hungry. Firepit and workout room. Breakfast was good, lots of options - fresh fruit, coffee, cereal, oatmeal, and waffles.
I really enjoyed most of my stay there. Room was great, w/refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, large dresser & living room quality chair, desk/work station & plenty of lighting. Majority of staff was extremely courteous, friendly, helpful & kept the room clean. I stayed there back to back weeks for work & overall enjoyed my stay. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was due to a rather rude staff woman. The first week I stayed my company booked me for 1 day less than I was scheduled to stay, as I had added an extra training after the original reservation had been made. I fully explained to the front desk person that I would, in fact, be staying an extra night & she should receive confirmation, to which she stated she clearly understood. Immediately after speaking with her, I contacted my company to remind them I needed another night booked. On the next business day I received an email confirmation that the extra night had been booked AND confirmed with the hotel. The following day I received a call from a very rude woman, while I was in the middle of training for work. I could not take the call, so I was left a message to call back asap. When I called back I was rudely informed check out was at 11 AM & my possessions were still in their room. I explained that I informed them on the day I arrived I would be staying 1 night extra & had received an email confirmation. This rude employee told me that she was NOW aware of the confirmation, however, the cleaning staff became confused as they expected an empty room, so they did not clean my room & they also canceled my key card & I would have to get another one, while stating it was my fault for not notifying them. When I hung up I rechecked the email to find out when it arrived. The confirmation email was sent to me at 11 AM the previous day, which included a copy of the hotels acknowledgement of said email. This was over 24 hrs before I was locked out of my room & left with no cleaning service. Does anyone ever check the computer before they start cancelling key cards? When someone books a room online, do they need to also call to make sure your staff did their job? No, they just show up. Someone did not do their job, actually multiple staff did not do their job, as this should have never happened. Also, even if it was missed, someone should have checked reservations before canceling my key card when they saw my belongings still in the room. Lastly, I still dont understand why it was not cleaned. Even if it was supposed to be my last night, wouldnt the room be cleaned anyway for the next person who might stay there? Bottomline, multiple staff members dropped the ball & then rudely blamed the guest. If my company had not paid for the room, I would not have gone back.
Its an overall great place to stay. Unlimited cereal unlimited milk Unlimited cookies fresh-baked at the front counter, unlimited yogurt. The workout room only has a treadmill in one of those stair step thing keys and a half deflated yoga ball, would like to see some dumbbells and possibly a pull-up bar on a Bowflex or something. The customer service is great and the continuity is also pretty good. Rooms are kept cream and room service is consistent. The wifi works good and they newly renovated there are the building behind the pizza restaurant. Rooms have flat screen TVs but TVs could be upgraded. It would also be nice if the bathrooms provided more than just mouthwash maybe disposable toothbrush and floss sticks will be nice. Each room provide you with miniature coffee maker and tea and coffee and a miniature refrigerator with a ironing board and iron. I love their soap and facial soap in the towels and washcloths are very white and clean. Shower curtain is white but I think shower curtain should be cleaned more regularly as it does not have a shower lining just a curtain that smelled slightly like mildew. Room service should definitely wash those shower curtains more regularly
Friendly service and fairly clean. Had to have them change sheets when we arrived because there was hair in the bed indicating sheets were probably not changed. Everything wlse was clean and breakfast was good! There was a smal brawl one night at the bar behind the hotel but didnt last long.
When we checked in Amanda was dealing with a very large, difficult demanding party. She handled it with grace and friendliness that should make any company proud to have her as an employee. When she got to us to check us in she showed no signs of frustration. Throughout our stay, she was helpful and friendly above and beyond. We will definitely stay there again, and will reccomend your hotel to anyone we know staying in Rochester. In addition, your housekeeping staff was on point, even with a full house. While we only needed coffee and a couple towels, they were more than happy to help. Whoever is doing the training there is doing something right.
Clean and comfortable rooms, free Wi-Fi is of decent speed, breakfast is hot and pretty good, coffee is always on, and there are cookies at the front desk.I stay here while in town on business and the rates keep my manager happy. The staff at the hotel has always been polite and quite personable.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting this hotel, and was impressed with all of the renovations! I had noticed the beautiful fire-pit outside. The open area in the lobby with the breakfast area is great. Rooms are updated, and the manager is very friendly to guest and his employees.
Stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago and the experience was more than great. The location is perfect with many shops, restaurants and activities in the area. very easy to get onto all highways. The rooms were clean and fresh. The staff is absolutely wonderful. We have stayed at this hotel a few times and have noticed that the same individuals still work here year in and year out. It makes me think that they must like working for this management team otherwise they would leave. Makes me feel like everybody truly cares about me as a guest
Clean, updated, friendly staff, felt like home. They had a very nice breakfast area and outside fire pit. They are located within walking distance of Wegmans, gas stations, shopping center and other great stores. We had a good overnight stay for our ladies night out.
Love the hotel staff except for the house keeper. I there for a few days and and Alexa wasnt so friendly, I had asked one time for extra towels and she was on her phone and with an attitude threw the towels on my bed. I ignored the first incident but the day after my room was filthy and i walked in to her still on her phone on the chair not doing anything. It made me feel very uncomfortable knowing that I entrust my belongs in a place i have used multiple times and to have one worker not care about the customer was appalling. I informed my employer about the incident and they insured me they will never send our staff there again while in town. Other staff members were nice, but to know how housekeeping can keep such a person like that and be treated like i was an inconvenience was uncalled for. I even told a few friends of this and they never had issues when they stayed there but knowing this has happened has made them change their minds for future bookings.
I stopped here for the night during a road trip from Michigan to Massachusetts. I was trying to choose if I should go for cheap or for comfort, and Im so glad I did the second. The hotel is small enough that there wasnt a lot of traffic or noise at night, even at 7pm. The bedding and pillows were so comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower a dream (you dont appreciate water pressure until youve experienced the lack of it). The only negatives I could think of were small cosmetic ones, like a few scuffs on the wall, the ceiling having an odd texturing only in one spot, and the bathroom not having a fan. The breakfast was classic and well delivered, the sausage I had was fresh and still juicy, not over cooked. The cantaloupe wasnt very fresh, but Im not petty enough to bring my rating down a star for some subpar cantaloupe. If I was driving through NY again, I would purposefully plan it so I spent the night in Rochester, and the Country Inn again.
Reached at 10 pm and the staff were very helpful. Even offered milk for my toddler daughter. Free and Reasonable breakfast and we were on our way to Niagara next morning. Beds were decent and the room was clean with a small fridge and microwave. Booked through Expedia. I could see gym indoors but didnt have time to check it out. Free inter and Wifi was of decent speed as well.
Hotel room was fine, perfectly clean and presentable, but the hotel in general was a notch down from the other Country Inn & Suites Ive stayed in. There was an event that weekend, and both this hotel and the adjacent Comfort Inn priced their rooms at $149. For $149, the wifi and TV remote should work.
This place was a DISASTER there were blood on the sheets and we went to talk to the manager about it and he denied it and say WE HAD PUT THE BLOOD THEIR to get a free room yelling and accusing us of doing this act. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Their disrespect and rude to all customers.
Do not stay here: hopelessly over-priced, basically a dingy 30-yo motel with no facilities beyond breakfast, dirty, and asking almost the same as the Radisson in the middle of town. You are 2-3 miles out of town here. Also watch out for fakery in the price quote: I asked for a 2-day quote: $160+ taxes etc, which sounded about right. Oh no , thats the per night charge. So a 2-day stay for 2 rooms was well over $650. What a scam.Usually weve been happy with HIE, but certainly not this one. Stay away.

2021-12-28Positive: Loved the front desk staff! Helpful, friendly and extremely hard workers! Loved the breakfast area! Even with COVID there were plenty of choices and you could grab coffee or a snack anytime. This was kept well stocked by the front desk staff also. Negative: No. It was a very enjoyable stay.

2022-04-01Were here for a weekend gateway. The building we stayed was not attached to where the breakfast and front desks are, but still in closer proximity. The suite we had was spacious and clean. I believe there is no elevator to the second floor in the building where we stayed. The hotel is right outside i590 so getting around is convenient. Very friendly staff. Parking is free. The room access cards did not work almost every time and we had to reactivate them frequently. Lucky the front desk is not busy.

2022-07-02Close to many stores and restaurants. Price was quite acceptable compared to other not-as-nice hotels in the area. Terrific staff. Clean and quiet. Gym. Laundry room. Vending area. Fridge in room. Amazing 24/7 coffee/tea/munchies available in the lobby. I FOUND MY NEW FAVE HOTEL.

2021-12-30Hotel was as good as you can expect. Bountiful in snack provisions. Friendly enough staff. However, several times we saw staff (both front desk and cleaning) that were not following the NY state indoor mask mandate. We did not feel as safe as we would have liked to.

2022-06-18Positive: My room was quiet. The reception and common areas were very spacious and clean. Staff was very helpful. Loved the variety of complimentary snacks and beverages available 24/7. Negative: It is on a very busy main street and tricky to enter and exit.

2022-06-12Positive: Having a not great experience before, I had some reservations about staying here again¿but this time much better. The room was pristine, staff very friendly/helpful. Decent breakfast items. Only downside, hall noise. Negative: There¿s a gap at the bottom of the room door, so any and all sound can be heard from hall. Also not sure about the sound from the splits - heat/air, as we slept with with window cracked open. (Was quiet outside the night we stayed)

2022-04-11Positive: The location is great for traveling locally and accessing the highway. Also staff was very helpful and friendly. Negative: The bedsheets were so stiff it took about 3 nights for them to get somewhat soft, but the mattresses were very hard (compacted) and they need to be replaced! Also, NO hot breakfast, the only ¿hot¿ items were microwavable jimmy deans brfast sandwich

2022-02-12The price was affordable and the room was great. We were taken care of quickly at the front desk and there was a EV charger. Great in every regard.

2022-03-02Positive: Front desk staff was helpful and friendly; prompt and professional service at front desk. Negative: There is no way this hotel deserves more than 1.5 stars at best. It is not an ideal location for either Rochester or the airport. The building is dilapidated, shabby, in poor repair, & the floors have soft spots that feel unsafe. Would not recommend!

2022-03-29My biggest complaint was my window lock was broken and I was on the first floor otherwise Staff was pleasant. They had to go breakfast items. The rooms were pretty outdated but CLEAN. The beds were uncomfortable to say the least. I felt like I could feel every spring. The bathroom was TINY the door would hit my knee in the bathroom. I personally wouldn’t stay here again.
