I love finding places like this. Not only is their food outstanding but the warm feeling you get when you come in really makes all the difference. Staff is attentive and friendly. Menu offers something for everyone!
Worth climbing the Putnam Ave hill at the end of the Putnam trail and dodging the perrenially under construction potholes on Main St. on your way to the Maybrook trail to get to. Good food for hungry cyclists. The breakfast burrito was just the thing I needed. Scarfed down half and brought the other half home for dinner.Friendly people and good service.
The food is so delicious here! And servings are generous. I have eaten in as well as ordered takeout. Service is always pleasant and professional! I have never been disappointed!
This restaurant was on my radar for a while, and it was worth the wait. It is a mid size diner, with a rustic style ambiance. The general appearance is clean and the wait staff are friendly, professional and on point.I had a bit of a wait, to be seated, but it was expected on a Sunday afternoon. The staff was fair with seating priorities.I sampled their egg Benedict meat lovers dish, hash browns and cornbeef hash. The off was excellent! The eggs where poached appropriately, the Hollandaise sauce was good, and the cornbeef was still rich in flavor.I wasnt a big fan of the coffee beans they used, but I had two cups. Diners choice.Yes, I would come back and bring friends!

Went there for Breakfast over the weekend. I had the corn beef hash omelete. It was delicious. Paired it with a short stack of pan cakes and I will definitely be going back.

The food is great.But they always have cnn on the tv which is not good for my digestion.Put something on the tv which won’t offend your customers. I will try one more time and if it doesn’t change I will find another breakfast place

I went there for the first time and the service was great. I ordered the two two and two. 2 eggs, 2 sausages and 2 French toast. It looked and tasted delicious. Will definitely go again.
Had an incredibly delicious Buffalo Chicken wrap here, kids had assorted breakfasts. Portion sizes were ample without being overwhelming. Quick service despite being busy and very reasonable prices. Only complaint is staff NOT wearing masks and NOT sanitizing tables between guests. Spent over an hour and a half here and at least four tables change hands between parties coming and going without anything more than a simple wipe off of table surface. Very courteous staff, management clearly not following/enforcing protocols for the area

This is one of our favorite restaurants to go too. The food is absolutely AMAZING!! Every staff member is super sweet and very attentive to there customers. My family and I go every single weekend, we cannot resist there Corn Beef Hash Eggs Benedict. I have never had one before, just a regular Eggs Benedict. Wow let me tell you, it was extremely delicious! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING!!!!!!

Great find for lunch or all-day breakfast 2 miles off 684. The corn casserole is amazing and comes as a side with breakfast plates. Perfectly poached eggs in 7 different varies of eggs Benedict, fluffy omelettes.

This is truly a gem of a restaurant. French onion soup is very flavourful. My husband said its the best Ruben sandwich hes ever had. Salad is fresh. Service is prompt and courteous. Wish we lived closer! Clean!
Amazing breakfast! The food was delicious-fresh, homemade corned beef hash (yes, please), blueberry pancakes, Belgian waffles…and terrific service. Shout out to Eduardo for his attention and professionalism and to Alex, the chef and owner. We’ll definitely return next time we’re upstate with the family!

Nice little place. Menu is a little limited right now. But hopefully that will change in the future. Food was very good. My wife was surprised that the Pumpkin Pancakes actually tasted like pumpkin.

For years I have just driven by Brewster NY on my N-S travels. But this time we were hungry and after a quick search decided to call in an order for a couple of chipotle crunch burgers to go. What a blessing! This is a top-tier quality item, very generous serving, and the young man who served us could not have been more polite and helpful. Truly an unexpected happy find an we will most certainly make this a planned stop on future. Highly recommended!
After 2 very disappointing trips to local diners we decided to give them a try. Boy am I glad we did. Food was EXCELLENT !! We chose from the breakfast menu this time but will definitely go back for lunch or dinner. Worth the visit...you wont be disappointed!

Went for breakfast this morning and everything was delicious. Homemade corned beef hash to die for and the tastiest waffles I’ve ever had. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Can’t wait to go back!

Hidden gem! The best hot roast beef sandwich Ive had in NY. NOT KIDDING. Super friendly staff provided great service and everything we ate was terrific!
Service was top notch. Friendly and helpful. Food was ok. Mac and cheese was supposed to be baked with a bread crumb topping and it wasnt. Very small portion for a 3 egg omlet. Still, it was worth a visit and I would come back again.

Delicious! We were in the area and decided to stop in. Very glad we did, now I’m sorry we live an hour away! We had the fried shrimp and chicken quesadilla as well as the California chicken sandwich and Reuben!
Its a small and cozy diner. The waitstaff is pleasant and the food is fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced.
Second time at the Country Kitchen was as good as the first. I had the chili - very tasty. Served in a bowl that sat under the broiler to melt the cheddar. Nice touch - piping hot, just the way I like it. Good food, good service, nice people.

We’ve come here in the past and the food was ok. Nothing to write home about. But today on a whim we tried it again. Wow. What a difference! The food pretty much perfectly cooked. And I mean that. My wife and I had eggs Benedict and I had the one with sausage and gravy. Then we ordered a short stack to share with the banana and maple composite (I spelled that wrong but whatever). They were delicious. The ONLY critique I have is they should put some salt on the hash that comes with the eggs. Just a little to bring out the flavor. Otherwise, awesome. Our waiter was diligent and very kind. Overall, awesome. 😁

We just ate here, our first meal in a restaurant post Covid. Restaurant is very respectful with table spacing and social distancing. The cheeseburger was a homemade patty was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I loved my Eggs Benedict Florintine, Chicken Soup was homemade with chunks of chicken and vegetables. Friendly, prompt service!
The food is fantastic, the service is great, and I have a new favorite restaurant. The head chef is a great guy and is really proud of his cooking. Keep it up!
Surprising! Fried chicken with Mac&Cheese and mini cornbread was great. Chicken scarpariello terrific and large portion. We are new to the area and are coming back to visit and support Alex.
I begin with a caveat: my family likes the food here a lot. Now for my view...the portions are very good and the service is attentive, however, the quality of ingredients is lacking, the coffee weak (even by diner standards) and the decor is sterile. So, while its not awful, there are many better options for diner food in the area.
We stopped here on our way back to MA. We found it on Googlemaps. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly.We ordered a Reuben with coleslaw, a Chipotle Burger and Chicken Parm with pasta.The corned beef was sliced thin but stacked thick with just the right amount of dressing. It was complimented by light rye grilled to perfection. The Chipotle burger was topped with toasted onions and my son substituted a Caesar salad instead of a garden salad and it was fresh and the perfect size.The chicken parm was enough for two meals !Upon leaving the new owner greeted us and we are glad that he is thriving in an otherwise uncertain time for restaurants.I highly recommend The Country Kitchen.

Excellent food and service. I had the BBQ Benedict: sweet cornbread casserole topped with barbecue beef brisket, two poached eggs, and a hollandaise sauce with a side of hash browns. The eggs were perfectly poached and the brisket appropriately tender for a delightful not-quite-breakfast breakfast dish.Ill be sure to stop by again the next time Im traveling this way to visit another portion of the menu.

I love the burgers here. I also love the interesting menu choices. The food isnt defrosted out of a box, and they take pride in what is served. This is a real neighborhood restaurant where people meet to have lunch and chat, so the atmosphere is like what you remember from 30 years ago when restaurants didnt dump you out of your table after 22 minutes. Friendly. Ive never had a bad experience here, food or atmosphere, and recommend that everyone drop in and give it a try.

Place was clean and well run. Although I ordered a sandwich not on the usial menu, my waiter was still pleasant and efficient. A good experience for my first time visit and will be back for sure.

Not from the area... On the way home from JFK decided to stop here based on the previous reviews and we were glad we did!!!! Great portions, great service, delicious and scrumptious omelettes and pancakes! Homefries beat our local dinner - everything has great flavor! Highly recommend stopping here to eat!

The owner is always on sight and does the cooking. She grows vegetables, fruits and spices and uses in her entrees and sells them. The staff is super friendly. The food is amazing.
Not bad at all. I need to go back and get the banana bread French toast. Would have given it 4 stars but my wife asked for her salad dressing on the side and they put it on the salad instead.

2022-02-12Great breakfast options. Pancakes were delicious and eggs Benedict with corn beef hash were as well. Had some teriyaki wings which were cooked perfectly and crunchy. Salad was ok. Want to try their waffles next time i come here. Great service as well. Coffee was good also.

2021-11-28This little restaurant was great! The staff was super personable and kept an eye on us if we needed anything. The food was amazing! I had the traditional eggs Benedict and the eggs were perfectly poached. My boyfriend had the Spanish breakfast, we both loved the chorizo and plantains!

We had a hot roast beef sandwich and it was one of the best Ive ever had! And the place has a great atmosphere.This is definitely a hidden gem! We are definitely coming back!!

2022-07-21I have been to Country kitchen several times for breakfast and lunch, and just ordered dinner for delivery and absolutely everything is outstanding! The eggs Benedict (any version) and Spanish breakfast have been reliable favorites. My kids love the fries, burgers and kids meals. They provide gluten free bread and I’ve had no issues with my allergy. I love the variety options on the menu and how well they execute every single thing. Bonus from delivery is the excellent turn around time—less than 45 minutes is so great!
