We had an awesome experience, it was freezing outside, but it nice and warm inside. Rooms were clean, the operations manager was there and gooooot darn, She is awesome. She chatted with us and made us even more comfortable then we already were. The staff... love yall. Even the hous3keepers were great... I think her name was Paula, you rock lady
Thank you to all the management and staff. It’s not so pleasant when you have to be away from home, especially for an extended stay. We spent over two months at this hotel and they’ve been amazing to us. The room was very clean. The noise from other guests was very minimal, rarely ever heard anyone above us. The managers and staff have been amazing, making us feel welcome and getting us everything we needed. Although the bistro was closed, due to them being short staffed, it wasn’t hard to find plenty of places to eat near by. I’d gladly stay here anytime if needed in the future. I can’t stress enough how much I appreciate the people working this hotel.I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area.I have to say all the staff were great to us, but one member of the staff, who was there on the evening shift, went out of his way to be super helpful, thank you Matt, you’re awesome.
Positive: The room had a strong mold and mildew smell and we needed to relocated to a different room. The second room was very warm and we could not get it cooled down. We had the fan on high to try and cool the room and started smelling mold and mildew smell. Negative: The heating/air conditioning didnt work and the mold and mildew smell. We didnt get much sleep, it was very warm in the room when we turned off the fan completely.
Great service throughout. Front desk clerk Michael helped me with a computer issue, housekeepings Melissa cleaned my room even though it wasnt on her list to do. Beds are very comfortable, blackout drapes actually overlap so the room stays dark in daylight, the showers excellent, the toiletries are nice. Ill stay here again.
Had a brief but very enjoyable stay at this hotel. Our room was very clean and well appointed. The shower was phenomenal! The only glitch for us was that having a failing GPS, we called the hotel for directions… The front desk, although very polite and willing to help, seem to have absolutely no idea what town he was in. He just could not give directions, and even though he was the person asking us if we were beside a certain Street, he did not know how to direct us to the other end of Washington Ave. if your GPS is working correctly you will be very happy in this hotel!
This is such a beautiful hotel. So glad we stayed. So conveniently close to University of Albany. Meticulously clean. Large spacious rooms. The updated a/c was on a thermostat setting. It didnt click on and off all night, very quiet. Friendly staff. If I could rate it more than 5 stars, I would. Very happy. Will DEFINITELY be staying here again next time Im in town.
We stayed at this property while dropping my daughter off at college. The Courtyard was a great find. It is very convenient to her dorm and is easily accessible to everything that we needed. Staff was professional and courteous, the hotel was extremely clean and the bed was one of the best that I’ve ever slept on. Although this hotel was priced a little higher than others in the area, after reading the reviews, I decided to go with The Courtyard. I was not disappointed and am glad that I spent the extra money. This will be my go-to hotel when visiting my daughter.
We stayed overnight just passing through the area. The clerk who checked us in was extremely friendly. He mentioned that the hotel was sold out; however, we never would have known that because the hotel was so quiet. The hotel was also very clean. This was a great place to stay and I would definitely stay here again.
Room was very clean, accommodations were very good. The room was quiet and I was able to work on computer until 9:30 without even realizing the time. The shower was fantastic and yet the bathroom is a touch small. Check in was quick, my receipt was in my mail early in the morning. I will definitely be back because I am working in the area and the price of the room is definitely a driving factor. Not too many rooms this comfortable are at this price.
Property was well maintained and clean. It is located directly next to Albany campus so very convenient for my purpose. The front desk concierge, Matthew was amazing and greeted me exceptionally well while providing great service during check-in. The next morning, Matthew remembered my name and allowed me to start my day with great enthusiasm and energy. Will plan to stay again!
Very clean, friendly staff, great layout. Room was warm and cozy and loved having 2 tvs in the suite with streaming services. No fighting over what to watch. Couch was very comfortable and shower was great. Only issue is bathroom is a bit small. You can’t have 2 people in there at once. It would be nice if mini fridge and microwave were near each other instead of so far apart.
Positive: I travel to Albany related to UALBANY & the location is perfect. It is also convenient to stores & the highway. I have stayed here on multiple occasions over the last few years & have yet to be disappointed. The rooms are spacious & clean. Negative: This particular trip we had a very slow draining shower, but other than that everything was great.
Disappointed with not being recognized as a Titanium Elite Member on arrival. There were no baggage carts available. Answer was they were stolen.Very disappointed bistro was not open. Primary reason I chose a Courtyard. In transit I dont like to go out to a restaurant or order out.I do understand the hiring issues due to Covid as being the reason.
My husband and I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott (Albany Thruway locale across from UAlbany) while we were in between house closings, and we could not have been more pleased with how the stay went. Every employee was super nice, and when we had questions or requests (i.e., doing a quick housekeeping in the middle of our stay) they were thorough and kind about what their current Covid policies dictated they could or could not do. When our second closing was pushed back a bit, they were flexible and helped us stay for two nights that we hadnt originally anticipated. The suite we stayed in was spacious enough that my husband and I could both work at separate spots during the workdays that WERENT the hotel bed, which was a huge, huge plus. And the small seating area also helped us feel like were werent trapped the whole time.Ultimately, during a super, super stressful time, our stay here at the Courtyard by Marriott gave us peace of mind.
Terrible pillows. Only one washcloth for two people for two nights. Terrible pillows. The bed in the King suite was not a king. Small room for a suite. Asked staff where we could get food. They only said the 7-11 next door. Had no idea of the restaurants down the road. Huh?
I stayed in a company provided king sized room. The room was neat and clean, the bed was firm but comfortable. The shower was a very nice stall with a rainfall type showerhead. My only complained is that they metered the thermostat, so I couldnt get the AC to go below 77°. I called the front desk, however, and they changed it to a VIP setting and I was then able to sleep comfortably. Overall, it was a good experience.
This property is exceptionally well run. It’s attractively decorated, very clean and quiet. Excellent customer service from the well-trained staff. Well maintained inside and out. Our only blip on an otherwise excellent stay was elevator servicing that took the elevator out of service for 2 days. We were on the second floor, so we climbed a few more flights of stairs than we anticipated. We were assured of help with our bags if the elevator wasn’t repaired in time for our departure, but it was put back into service promptly. Otherwise, our clean, comfortable room was terrific.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby was inviting. My room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. I used the internet for work and found it easy to connect to and use with no problems sending important emails. The hotel is very close to the airport which made it a perfect place to stay before heading out for a business trip. I would definitely stay here again.
Just prior to arrival, i had been notified by one of my Credit Card providers that there had been some suspicious activity on the card and that for my protection i would not have it available to use until 8:00 AM the next morning. This was confirmed when the card was declined upon check in. So I placed a different card with your front desk and requested to not charge that card as I would prefer to use the one in limbo at check out. I was assured that would be fine, and it was in fact just fine as I checked out with the correct card at 8:05 the next morning- so Thank you. Furthermore you had noticed my Gold Elite status and appreciated me with an upgrade to a suite with the same disability accessible shower i had requested. Once again- Thank you. Yet these are both procedural / operational adjustments and while very much appreciated are service based accommodations. To me, what made an impact on me to respond to this survey for one of my many Marriott hotel stays was within you Cafe team. There were two young ladies staffed on my evening arrival that assisted me with some refreshments as I headed up to my room, at least one of the young ladies was still on when i returned for a quick drink prior to my ride picking me up- this is when a young man engaged with me and shared that he was in training and he would do his best to process my transaction properly but he might need to ask for help, at which point the other team member turned and assisted him quickly and professionally thus adding to his training. This man was there when I returned and courteously advised that the cafe would be closing in about 15 minutes if there was anything Id like from the kitchen, I requested a Grilled Cheese Sandwich with French Fries and a couple of ciders to return to my room with. As the order was being prepared, as he had done while I was waiting on a friend earlier, he engaged in comfortable, warm engaging traveler based dialogue without being intrusive at all just hospitable. And THAT is why I state the difference - because while the other amenities, upgrades and courtesies were all indicators of good service, your team members at the Cafe even through the next mornings departure coffee to go, created even warmer more welcoming accommodations through sincere HOSPITALITY. Please thank them and possibly use this as a teachable moment to continue building on the reasons I for one continue to choose the Marriott Flag of Hotels.- Marriott Gold Elite Member
We stayed at the Courtyard Albany in December 2019 and we will definitely return. The staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and to help us out with anything we needed. The room was clean and quiet and had great blackout curtains. The bed was very comfortable and there was a small couch with a tray table for using a laptop or having a snack. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. The Bistro now serves Beyond Meat burgers, and the staff was very helpful to make sure that my toppings were vegan. The food was a little pricey, but it was very convenient to have breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Great location not far from downtown Albany, Colonie Mall and a myriad of restaurants.
Kind of your average Marriott. Nothing too fancy, but overall serviceable. The breakfast in the morning was good and the room was clean. The gym was not too bad either but I used a treadmill one day that could only flip between 3 channels, while the others had full access to all the channels. 🤷♂️ I would stay again.
This is a great location and near the college campus. Its relatively quiet and the hotel rooms are much nicer than your average Courtyard. The gym and pool are both in-door and spacious. The food is typical of the Courtyard, but the staff does not appear to recognize the differences between statuses. I had to reach out to Marriott customer service online to explain to them about the error that was made at my check-in.
Hotel room was very comfortable and quiet. Staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. We ate at the Bistro our first night and the food was very good although a bit pricey. Drinks were also a bit pricey so we ate dinner off-site our second night there. I have already recommended this hotel to others planning to go to Albany. I received a great deal booking the price of the room online and was very satisfied with my 2 night stay.
Good hotel in its class. Its not the Ritz, but you knew that. New comfortable rooms. Modern bathroom Refrigerator and microwave for leftovers. Decent in room coffee and. The coffee shop serves a normal breakfast (eg made to order omelettes). It is close to highway so you hear the road noise just a little, but then it disappears into the background.
My pre-teenaged son and I stayed at this hotel in early May. The staff were pleasant and professional. The room was well-appointed and clean. The beds were comfortable and warm. The room was quiet. The bathroom was small (we had to move around the toilet to pass from the shower to the sink, and to open the door). The towels were large and thick. The Bistro was still open (until 10:00 p.m.), which was nice for a cup of Starbucks coffee. The only drawback was the lack of a hot breakfast buffet in the morning. The Bistro was open early. The counter staff were friendly and fast. However, the Bistro offers a limited menu. I would expect families with young children might have a difficult time.
The Courtyard Albany Thruway was an exceptional hotel. We were particularly pleased with the easy access from the Thruway. Its location is also very convenient to the University at Albany and the city center. We were so impressed with the staff of this hotel. We were greeted by a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable front desk clerk. Every staff member throughout the hotel greeted us and asked if we needed anything. Our room was beautifully decorated and pristine! After having less than satisfactory recent stays with other hotel chains, we were particularly pleased with the cleanliness of the Courtyard Albany. The hotel is well maintained inside and out. The hotel was very quiet. Overall our stay was excellent. It is very apparent that the staff takes pride in their work. Thank you! We will definitely be back!
We were very impressed with our time at courtyard Marriot. The rooms were very clean, bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious and well decorated. All the staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. Front desk and even the staff at the restaurant were really great! We felt that this hotel thought of everything to make our stay great, one day it rained and they had extra umbrellas for us! We really enjoyed our 2 nights there and wished we stayed even longer. Thank you!
The room and the bathroom were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Staffs were really polite and we felt welcome right away.We were in Albany to see the Frozen show downtown with our Granddaughter, we really enjoy the location of the Hotel, easy access from the Thruway and easy access to any restaurants (5 minutes drive to Cheesecake factory and IHOP). 15 minutes from downtown with easy access from the Thruway. We couldnt ask for better location.
Overall a great stay. Friendly staff. I had a loud bed which I reported so others wouldnt have the same experience. The bed was comfortable. Room was nicely appointed and clean. The only real detraction was that there werent any restaurants for dinner close by. We did find some nice options about a mile or two away with the help of the front desk staff, but after being in the car all day, it would have been nice not to have to try to find a place further away.
Loved our room - bed was comfy, the pillows not so much..clean bathroom, enjoyed the shower too..👍Housekeeping was super stingy with the complementary amenities in the room though. Tea bags, tea cups or drinking glasses were not replaced the next day and when we called the front desk, they were less than friendly 👎🙁
The food was edible at best. I had the quesadilla on my first night. It was like eating a pound of grease. My bedsheet my first night had a large stain on it. Unfortunately I didnt notice until the next morning. The person who cleaned my room took my almost full bottle of water from my nightstand and also, for some reason, took a pair of contact lenses I had next to the sink ready for the following day. Otherwise, this is a standard Courtyard experience. Pool was OK and the place, other than that sheet, was clean.
We got in quite late Nov 21 and the front desk was very friendly and got us set up in a great room very quickly which was appreciated! The hotel looked great and was clean with a nice lobby and we could see the bistro and Starbucks we could visit in the morning (note: closes early so don’t miss it like we did!). Our King room was a good size, nicely laid out, and clean with nice finishes and furniture. There was plenty of room to setup a changing area and to accommodate our baby stuff and luggage. We used a luggage cart to get our stuff to our room so it was nice that that was there. We were hungry and ordered pizza to the room and watched some tv while Baby slept and it was nice to have the sitting area for that. Loved having the fridge and freezer. The bathroom was fantastic mostly because the shower had really nice water pressure (better than at home!). Overall a fantastic stay with a Dunkin Donuts and gas station right there. A Starbucks just down the street if you sleep in too late (love the late check out of noon). Right by the highway for easy access but not too loud. Would definitely stay there again!
I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. It is a convenient location, updated, and has very pleasant staff. My only complaint would be there were some small stains on a few of the white bedding linens, but as white is so difficult to keep clean I understand. The rest of the room hotel was very clean! The staff was very pleasant and did not complain when our very large family hung out in the lobby on a Friday night being louder than we should have been. The price was wonderful and it was so nice that they gave us a block of rooms and a bereavement rate included. I would definitely stay here again!
Even though the hotel was under construction, the rooms were still never nice and most were brand new. The bed was super comfy and was in a great location from the campus. The only thing that needs to be improved is the restaurant on site. The food is ok if you do not have a car to go anywhere else. I purchased the quesadilla and it was basically a microwaved meal. I did not eat there after the first day.
Got into the room after 12am, all I wanted to do was go straight to sleep. The first thing I found was a pubic hair on the toilet seat. When I pulled down the bed, there were body hairs on the bed sheet. To make matters even worse, two of the four pillows on the bed stunk like someone’s body spray. The room was repulsive. On a lighter note, supposedly the whole hotel was just renovated but for some reason there are no USB ports bedside. I will never return to this hotel.
I planned an overnight stay at courtyard in Albany. I was there with a group for a teacher conference at College of St Rose. Upon checking in at around 10 pm i quickly noticed how cold the room was. My friends in the same program who was staying across the hall said her room was also cold. So i figured it was just an extremely cold night and the room needed a bit to heat up. I had to wake up and check out early but wanted to enjoy some gym time either in my room or in the facilities gym. It was so cold I could not muster the ability to get out from under the covers (it was cold under there too just not as cold.). I waited all night for thermostat to begin working... It did not. The room literally did not heat up until checkout the next day at 7 am. Upon speaking to my other friend who stayed down the hall, It was brought to my attention that not all the rooms were cold as her room was quite warm immediately when she walked in. I deem it irresponsible to leave a room at nearly 60 degrees on a cold winter night when they know someone is going to check in to the room for the day. I was not impressed with my stay at all.I did not report it because I mistakenly thought the room would heat up and I desperately needed to sleep because I had had a late night and had an early morning. Looking back I should have since I spent most of the night tossing and tuning trying to heat up.
When making our reservation, I asked about for 10/20/20, I specifically asked the phone agent about COVID protocol. He assured me that Marriott went above and beyond the necessary, that all hotel staff would wear face coverings and rooms were highly cleaned, even saying sheets were washed in the hottest of water. Guests masks, he said, were optional. This I thought strange, given Gov. Cuomos clear directives on indoor businesses and face coverings. We would certainly be masked, regardless.Upon arrival, the very casually dressed desk clerk wore no mask, though there was a plexiglass barrier at the desk. Not good, I thought. He was moving around the area freely. In the room, I first noticed the ice bucket with a layer of dust, clearly not cleaned any time recently. When needing a tissue and moving the box from the bathroom counter, there was debris behind it in the corner that had not been cleaned. Very careless attention to the entire surface of bathroom counter. The complimentary shampoo/conditioner bottles were leftovers from the last user. Not good at all.On check out, another very casually dressed unmasked desk clerk was on duty. If this is COVID protocol at a time when cases are spiking here in Albany, NY -- across the street from a large university -- and across the country, I hate to see whaat their standards are in good times.
The hotel is wonderful. The staff was accommodating, efficient, and friendly. The room was clean and well-designed. I would definitely stay here again. My big problem was making the reservation. We found the hotel on-line, and wanted to call the hotel directly to ask some questions. That was impossible, as the only number listed is a toll-free number. As frequent travelers, we understand the necessity to route routine calls and inquires away from personnel who must deal face-to-face with clients. However, forcing a caller to experience the call center is way out of line. This was like the quest for the Holy Grail! First of all, I do not have a Bon Voy number, which apparently is the only way one can actually speak to someone. After 2 or 3 calls, I finally reached an agent who was totally useless, as she had no knowledge of the hotel area, and was unable to answer any of my questions other that the Thurway exit number. Additionally, she was curt and unfriendly, which, of course, brought out the worst in me! I finally hung up on her and made the reservation on line! If the only way I can make a reservation is to go on line (your reservation process needs much improvement), or talk to some snarky twit in a remote call center, I am going to think twice! Bottom line, the Albany Courtyard is wonderful, and I will stay there again. Why? Because its a lovely, quiet hotel and I have the managers business card and the phone number!
As a lifetime Platinum member that stays at this property almost every week - I really appreciate how they are getting to know what is important to me and making it feel like a home away from home. They almost always upgrade me to a suite and if they cant - they now are including a microwave in the room. I cant tell you how much I appreciate this extra touch. Its what makes Marriott great and why I am so loyal. A microwave allows me to go grocery shopping and eat in my room. When you travel 50 weeks a year - this is such a wonderful thing!!! The staff at the front desk is always so welcoming and professional. Well done and thank you!!!
This hotel is nothing fancy, but it did seem clean and it is in a convenient location. No free coffee or breakfast offered and it is a bit pricey. Exercise room has 3 treadmills and some free weights, not much at all , if that matters to you. Pool area small and the hotel interior and exterior looks like it could use a bit sprucing up. I stayed for 4 nights, and the bed was comfortable enough.
The room looked great. The bathtub didnt leak, there were barely any cracks in the ceiling plaster, no cobwebs in the stair cases I was in. But the real downside was that none of the doors had any sort of soft close tech. My room was in a corner on the first floor near a staircase egress point, the laundry room, and an exit door. Every five (or less) minutes between 7am and 1am at least one of those doors would open loudly, and slam shut. It was impossible to get much rest in this hotel, and the nap I took shortly after returning home was one of the best naps of my adult life.
Enjoyed our stay very much. It is located directly across from the University of Albany which for me was a plus. The staff was very pleasant, helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and quiet. Enjoyed the hot tub and the pool. The only reason I didnt give it a 10 was because I didnt like the choices they had for dinner BUT their breakfast was awesome.
We stayed in two hotels in the Albany area over the course of the weekend. The Courtyard Marriott was by far superior. We were greeted by a very nice front desk staff. Check-in was quick and easy. We were given some helpful information before heading to our room. When we got to our room, we were blown away. The first thing we noticed is how spacious the room was, and how incredibly clean it was. The bathroom was equally spacious and clean. Lighting was perfect. Decor was tasteful and inviting. The bed and pillows were some of the most comfortable I have ever used. After we got settled, we decided after our long trip to go to the Bistro for a snack and drink. We were greeted by Ryan who was very friendly, helpful, and went to any length to make sure we got what we wanted and that we were 100% satisfied. (I highly recommend the lemon pound cake). Later we returned to our room for some R&R. The TV is large, an assortment of channels to choose from. We got a very good nights sleep. The hotel was very quiet. I highly recommend to anyone that is staying in the Albany area to consider this hotel, you wont be disappointed. The only thing that disappointed me is that we did not have more time to spend at this hotel!
Not great but not awful either. The front staff were very friendly. The hotel itself was a bit dated and carpets could use a refresh a bit musty smelling when we walked up the stairs. Good location as it’s right off the highway next door to a Dunkin doughnuts as they don’t have a breakfast offering unless you go to the bar area and next to a Sunoco that has many snacks and drinks. Quick drive to target if you forgot things behind. Overall satisfactory
The room I had was very comfortable with nice decor and furniture. The bed was plush. The hotel itself is right off the interstate, but seems to be in a quiet area near the university. Its between a gas station and coffee shop, so its easy to find food and drink in a pinch. The staff are incredibly friendly and are probably the best part of a stay here. We werent familiar with the area and had to ask for recommendations on where to go for dinner. We received some great recommendations! As it turns out, there are many great places to go within a ten minute drive.Given the chance, I would definitely stay here again.
We ended up at the Albany Courtyard after an auto accident on the thruway. Ive stayed at several Courtyards in other cities, and already have a strong preference from this chain. But wow -- this hotel was exceptional. Terrific staff. excellent bistro, extremely spacious and well-designed rooms. I was traveling with family, and my children enjoyed the room and the pool. My only small reservation is that the fitness center has limited cardio equipment (four treadmills and one elliptical). Overall excellent property.
I cannot say even good about my stay at the Courtyard! The decor, cleanliness and welcoming environment made me feel right at home! The staff were outstanding. Regardless my question, request or need they were exceedingly pleasant, efficient and swiftin ensuring all of my questions/request were attended to and resolved. If you are looking for a great stay, I highly recommend the Courtyard Albany.
Tasteful and comfortable rooms and lobby, perfect service from a friendly staff, good location. weve stayed at a number of other hotels in the area but after we discovered this one, weve returned many times. the dining is great, with healthy choices and a good variety. area restaurants are easily accessible for more complete dinners.
I had a decent stay at this hotel, however I found I had been charged for a bottle of wine which I had not purchased. I called the hotel immediately upon seeing this charge. They did remove the charge and refund me. Be sure to check your receipt for any additional charged you did not make if you stay here.
This is a nice and clean hotel, but the service is not the best, to put it politely. The hotel does not recognize Marriott Gold Status, not even verbally at check-in.There is no complimentary drip coffee or tea in the lobby. Even one-star Super 8 hotels offer that. We certainly do not expect to be treated like Queen Elizabeth, but if this hotel treats Marriott Elite members this way, then there is no point in being loyal to Marriott.
If youre coming for business, its very easy to commute around. Having a traffic light at the hotel was a bonus, because it made it a lot easier to enter/exit. Though there is no free continental breakfast, they do offer a few things, plus there is a Dunkin Donuts next door. Its not in walking distance for those wanting to have a nice night out, but they do sell drinks on site.
If you are visiting SUNY-Albany, this is a wonderful place to stay. It is located right across the street from the university. The staff at the Courtyard could not have been nicer. Check-in was quick and easy. The staff was very helpful in recommending an outstanding dinner choice. We had breakfast the next morning at the Bistro inside the Courtyard. Again, the personnel were very friendly and helpful.
This experience could of gone so much better if the staff were more kind. I cant help myself to walk in and greet people. But theres something weird about staff just starring at you after being greeted. They looked at me like if I had a question. Wheres the hospitality? I got the room with a King Size. Room was clean. Tv issues were a joke. All the channels had issues finding signal. Its a shame.
This was the first time we stayed at this hotel. The mobile check in was very handy and everything was ready for us as soon as we arrived for a 2 minute check in. The suite we had was spacious and always very clean. The bed was a little too soft for us, but thats a personal preference, We would stay here again.
I spend overnights in Albany from time to time and usually stay at a different hotel, but I had to make an impromptu trip and the other hotel was booked. I got a room at this Courtyard instead and was not disappointed at all. It was clean, quiet and very comfortable. In all honesty, Ill probably make this my first choice when I stay in Albany now over the other hotel. The only thing that this hotel lacks is any type of free breakfast being included as that is one perk the other hotel had. This one is right next to a Dunkin Donuts and very convienent, but free is a nice touch.
Entire property - all interior and rooms - completely renovated by March 2019. Beautiful job! Exterior landscaping will be completed in weeks ahead. Extremely convenient location to highway access. Excellent food in dining area. Parking was inadequate due to construction vehicles, but this is only temporary.
Everything was suburb at the Marriott except for a couple of things. One tiny complaint was the bathroom between the toilet and the door is pretty small. Big complaint, i dont know if it was just me but the internet speeds for the guest stay was atrocious. I could not use my laptop for anything. Other than those things, everything was excellent.
Kid friendly facility with charming staff that made every member of the family feel welcome. Pool and facilities are in excellent shape and made our stay relaxing. Very easy to get to, perfect location off the highway, but enough off of the highway that we could not hear the highway.
We stayed for 2 nights and checked in another 8 rooms in our group for one night. Staff was excellent making our checkin experience smooth and pleasurable. Great ideas from Molly at front desk regarding local dining. Convenient to UofA campus, as well as Wolf Rd. And downtown. We will certainly be back.
I am a loyal Marriott customer. Coutyard Marriott on Washington Ave in Albany was one of the nicest Courtyards. It was incredibly clean and well maintained. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable and professional. The rooms were clean, large and comfortable. It also had thae added bonus of being directly across the street from SUNY Albany. There was a gas station and Dunkin Donuts adjacent to the hotel even though the hotel does have a eating area in the lobby.
Was visiting the university of Albany. Started at another hotel which was horrific! Had previously stayed at this hotel which was a pleasent stay! Showed up at midnight with no reservation and was accommodated. The staff very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. Hotel close to shopping and restaurants. Look forward to staying there again soon!!
Due to a medical problem we have not been able to travel for four years. My medical ban has been lifted and like before we feel Marriott offers excellent clean, quiet, safe accommodations at an affordable price. The interpersonal skills of the staff make you feel important and they are pleased your travel preference is to stay in one of the Marriott brands.
This Courtyard by Marriott follows in the reputation of the many others we have stayed at. The rooms are clean and updated, the staff is competent and courteous, the room rates are competitive and there are nice amenities such as food/beverage service or the convenience store option.
Was whats needed to bring my son to college. I liked how close it was to the school, but I felt it was on the expensive side. I actually booked another stay at a neighboring hotel for half the price. The food was really for someone who didnt have a car if you wanted more business up your food choices.
I stood at this Courtyard location a few months ago for business reasons. I stood in a suite and experienced problems with the TVs in the room as well as parking. This time, parking improved and one of my 2 TVs functioned well. The second reminded distorted. The cooling system did not work so I was left to open the window at night. I gave this hotel a second chance and I’m disappointed by them again.
Although we only stayed at the Courtyard for one night while on our way home from Quebec City, I was very impressed as soon as I walked into the lobby. Not only was the staff at check-in friendly and welcoming, the lobby is very nicely laid out. Our King room was clean and large enough to include a small sofa. Try to reserve a room on the side away from the Thruway, as the highway noise can be a bit much. I travel with a portable white-noise machine so I was able to muffle out the street noise.
I am a Marriott Rewards member and try to stay at a Marriott property when convenient. I was visiting my son at SUNY Albany which is directly across the street from this Courtyard. The hotel was very nice. The property is updated, the rooms are nice size and the staff was great. I will definitely stay there whenever visiting my son at school. I have already recommended this property to a friend whose son also goes to school at Albany.
Courtyard Albany Thruway met all our needs for this business trip. Efficient help from front desk, computer/ office services available and easyinternet access at no extra charge. My only complaint is that the restaurant did not have table service and was understaffed. You order from the counter and take your food to the table. At times we saw only one person trying to run it. They were not very attentive.
On all my personal or business trips courtyard marriott is always my first and only choice. There locations are always great with plenty of complimentary parking. The concierge service is always at your calling. The bistro is great as well. Overall the best hotel experience all the time.
Carpet in my room is warped, room smells like mildew and variet was wet. Hotel is under renovation to maybe their credit, but the pool and fitness center are closed. I placed an order for a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup at the bistro. Despite having to pick it up after being told they dont deliver when I asked for room service, (which they advertise that they have) I had to wait over an hour for it.
If you are looking for a fun getaway this isn’t the place and neither is Albany. just keep driving whatever direction you are headed...also just realized they dropped the nightly rates after i stayed here for 3 days and i’m beginning to wonder if NYS is the scam artist we all know and love...
The room was musty, there was a stain on the shower curtain. The power went out at 3am till 10am, I had to shower in the dark with only my cell phone flash light. Flash lights were not provided outside each room, I only saw them at the desk when I checked out. I received no apology from the front desk about the outage or compensation.
When I stayed at the hotel, I came in carrying some food from lunch and the front desk lady immediately asked me if I was here to deliver Chinese food. I’m not sure if she was hungry or I I was shocked by her assumption and didn’t know how to respond to such a rude stereotype. When I went to complain to the general manager about this, she put me on hold for ten minutes before she came to realize that he was gone for the weekend and wouldn’t be back until Monday. If you work at the front desk, you should know where your supervisor is at.I’ve been a Marriott customer for over 22 years. I won’t let one bad experience ruin the brand as I trust management will do the right thing.
We visit U of Albany 3 or 4 times a year and we always stay at the Marriott Courtyard Thruway. The hotel is impeccably clean, the staff is friendly and accommodating and the dining accommodations are convenient and satisfying. We also like that is has a bar for the times you just want to relax with a glass of wine. It is also right across the street from U of Albany and is very close to both malls and all dining options.
This hotel is very clean and very friendly its also located geographically right across the street from my childs College and there are many restaurants and coffee shops in the area. It has a small fitness center and a pool with a hot tub. The staff is very friendly as well.
A Marriott hotel within easy access to Saratoga. Restaurants, of all levels of pricing levels..for tourists; several attractions are close by.For ladies who have no interest in racing (My wife included), shopping selections are very good.In summary, a reasonably priced first class hotel located in a lovely part of the countryNorris horn
I booked the hotel for 3 nights and the employees at Courtyard Marriott Thruway in Albany, charged me on the daily basis without even informing me. Try to talk to the assistant manager but all she could say was the word ok,ok,ok repeatedly, and when asked her: what do you mean by Ok she again was oh well Ok and then left without an answer or solution.Im very disappointed on how I was treated. Their smile when you come and go its just a fake introduction of have a good day and dont worry we got your back for good.I was charged as I was just stopping at the main desk for a last minute room they disregarded the fact that I made the reservation a month ahead. Its not an issue of money, the issue is that your main desk employees at Courtyard Merriott Thruway, Albany are some well trained crooks and hands up to you, Courtyard Marriott for such an effective training. So I went and left from there without an answer of why I was charged those daily rates when I booked the hotel a month ahead for the prescribed duration of 3 nights. I will try my best to not recommend people to Courtyard Marriott Thruway Albany. We are human beings so please treat us as such, dont see us as Money Value!Thank you.
Located across the street from SUNY Albany, this location is excellent. It is a short drive to the state capital and is a short drive to the mall for shopping. Located just off of an interstate exit makes this the ideal place for a business traveller. This, coupled with the friendliness of the front desk staff and the high standards that you typically find in a marriott property make this my choice every time I am in Albany.
This is a top notch Marriott Courtyard, that is truly comfortable and convenient. Snow was falling all day, during our travels, so location was key for us- and Courtyard was there! The Courtyard Albany Thruway is definitely worth a stop, and well equipped for the business traveler, with ample lobby area to spread out or meet up with others.
Wed stayed at a variety of places in the area until the Courtyard. Now, this is the only place we stay in. Staff is great, rooms are the best, reasonable prices and super location.Clean, great breakfast options, superb sleep and the best shower. What more could we want?

2022-03-04My family stayed here for an appointment they had in the area. My aunt said that during the trip she felt at ease staying at this hotel. They said check-in was easy for them, the rooms were super clean, and -all of the staff was great. Specifically, the night auditor, who was very kind, patient, and helpful when my aunt needed help printing some forms out. We would definitely recommend it here again, and would give 10 stars if we could! :)

2022-03-26Really enjoyed my stay. Staff was amazing and helpful. Rooms are clean and the king is overly spacious. I travel often and this quality for the price was unbeatable. Short drive to downtown and every type of food you could ever want. Parking is sufficient as well.

2022-04-23Positive: The shower and bath products. Negative: The breakfast choices and lack of free tea and coffee in the morning. The room machines dont cut it. The other area hotels have self serve tea and coffee in the lobby areas. Id also like to see body lotion supplied as the other hotels have it.

2022-03-17I would have given a 5 star if the hotel offered the continental breakfast like advertised. We went to the Bistro and spent over $30.00 Can for 2 of these. The selection was not very good. The room was outstanding and very roomy. I would definitely recommend staying here. Just need better food options. The following day we went next door to Dunken Donuts and got way more food for our buck and was still cheaper.

2022-06-24The hotel was lovely. There were a few issues with my room, the mini fridge made a loud noise so I unplugged it and the shower didnt drain. Other than those two things I would stay again in a heartbeat.

2022-06-30Unbelievably awful service. We called ahead pretty late this evening because we missed a flight and were driving through. They said they had rooms available. About 30 mins later we stopped in and after a few minutes the receptionist disappeared and did not answer to the bell and completely ignored us for 30+ minutes. Over tired and needing sleep this was the last thing we needed. Do not go here for service. Awful.

2022-04-20Really convenient to SUNY Albany. Usually stay down the street, but no more- room and common spaces were spotless and smelled freshly cleaned. The staff was very friendly. Check in and out process was smooth. Safe parking and near both a gas station and Dunkin Donuts- fuel for you and your car.

2022-06-19Positive: Cleanliness, nice staff Negative: Availability of complimentary tea except in the room...with no milk just powdered creamer. Other area hotels offer it in the lobby.
